Customer Reviews

Absolutely worth the 1.5hour drive from Summersville. They do birthday parties well. They not only provide the normal private room, with plates, forks, pizza, drinks for 10 kids and a shirt for the birthday boy/girl, but also the room comes with a personal attendant to help with decorating, clean-up, or whatever else a stressed parent needs help with. Which was very helpful.

Still great, ever under new ownership! The only thing between me and 5 stars is the new rink. The new wood flooring was not finished, and it is evident in how bumpy it is when one skates. If only the flooring was smoother and finished. Otherwise, still a great place. EDIT: As of the last time I went, June 20, the floor was better. Still a tad bumpy but it's an improvement.

My kids enjoyed rolling skating and they have a beautiful lady who will teach anyone how to roll skate every Saturday morning at 10 for a fee. It's worth it and your kids would definitely love it. They have plenty of games to entertain them while taking a break from skating. The atmosphere is amazing and you can grab a quick bite as well. Everything in one place for the kids. I would definitely recommend a date with your kids while having fun.

I had a very great experience. The owner was very polite and accommodating my family for my daughter 4th birthday. Ms. Crystal was bubbly and friendly. The pizza was absolutely delicious.

A security guard at the skating rink abruptly kicked me out, his firm grip on the situation leaving no room for negotiation. Frustrated and seething with anger, I stormed off into the night. The cold air did nothing to calm my nerves as I walked for what felt like three hours, each step taking me farther from the rink and deeper into my thoughts also took me into frustration to saying all things at the owner because I was kicked out for no reason Aka First Time.

The cold air did nothing to calm my nerves as I walked for what felt like three hours, each step taking me farther from the rink and deeper into my thoughts. My mind raced, and the urge to confront the injustice built with every passing minute. Eventually, I found myself standing outside a dark theater, my hands clenche

Good for what it is, just know, the floor if just plain hardware floor, not waxed nor polished, very rough

One of the closest rinks to Summerville since we loss our Music in Motion. Wood floors and an old school vibe. Not just because of the music choice. I went for their yearly "Reunion". VISIT! VISIT! VISIT! We need to support local rinks and keep them open!

Such a fun and energetic environment!! Had a blast with my kids and even skated myself. Definitely worth the memories and experience ?? very professional and friendly staff and owners . We'll definitely be adding this to our family fun nights out . Thank you Skate 698. !!

I will never let my kids go there again! Get some better police officers. The officer was constantly yelling and got in the kids faces and made them feel threatened about calling their parents when they already advised you that they did. There were other kids still waiting as well but they were not harassed. He was saying threatening things like he's going to lock up their parents and to never come back there again! Mind you he started this right after 10 pm. There was another officer there talking and laug

Me and my kids had an amazing time here

Under new management. Staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a nice experience. Could do with a makeover, though.

Nice skating rink. Kids had fun. Wasn't too crowded. There are a few video games. Also has a snack bar and vending machines.

There is to much speakers blasting your ear and it hurts

Jammer's Skate-N-Fun Center is one of the only places in Orangeburg for kids ages 4-16 to go and enjoy themselves. It's a good place for kids to hang out, Skate and have fun. (It's time for a remodeling tho)

this place is ok the owners are nice but the food is high because it's separate and the chicken wings was cold on the middle plus it takes a long time for your food to come.

My son and his friends always enjoy skating here.

Owners and employees are very nice.

I've been going to this place since I was like 6 years old. I always enjoy it there even if I'm by myself. The owner is very nice and friendly. Most of the workers feel like family at this point. Great place for socializing and skating. Would 100% recommend

Had a great time today everyone was so helpful and pleasant. Making sure we were ok and having a good time. Music was great good space for those who's at the beginner level will definitely be going back.

Nice management and very clean

First timers for my kids but it's really an very fun entertaining place

Great for the family.

Love this place. I specially on Sunday afternoons. Great activity to do with the kids and they have clean bathrooms and a snack bar. Never had a problem getting skates in the correct size.

Very nice staff but the crowd is horrible. We only went once and will likely never return again due to rowdy tweens and teenagers.

I love the staff, and how they are trying to keep the tradition going. I wish they could expand it and put more towards the rink. We can use a side for the kids although the play area is fun I wish they could build on another part. They also need scooters for children but in all it's a nice place to go.

I'm happy to see this place under new ownership! Please support them!

This place deserves to be shut down immediately I came for the first time in a while and the experience was horrible so first off mr Kevin the queer owner decided to yell at my little sister and cousin for trying to find a quiet enough place to talk to my mom and I told him it was wrong and he walked off so that's 1 issue next the fat lady at the counter decided to catch a attitude and turn on me saying I had one when I had no issues at this point anyways another grown staff told me he would beat me and my

I've been skating at Jammers for 22 years! Friendly staff and the owner is frequently in the building. There is a real family atmosphere. In my opinion best wood floor rink on the east coast! Absolutely love skating here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
