Oh my God I never had so much fun since I was younger. I loved it. I played as much as I could possibly play. It reminded me of my good days beanpole days awesome place. I highly recommend it to a lot of people. I wrote a good review on it on Facebook I told everybody they should go down. I love the place thank you. We'll be visiting it again and I'm 74 years old and I enjoyed every moment of it.??
This is a great place to just chill by the boardwalk and have fun! It's really exciting to see all of the retro and vintage machines they have stored, many of which are one-of-a-kind, and not found much else. The food is also great and convenient. Plus, everything's ten times better when you're in one of the best places in the world: by the beach on the Jersey Shore Boardwalk.
This was such a fun day trip! The machines/video games are awesome! Soo many to play!! Something for everyone. Highly recommend.
Wow! Had a fantastic experience here on a Sunday in February. So much fun to see and play all the old games. This was a fantastic deal for the money. We played hundreds of rounds of games over the course of six hours for only $20 each! We'll definitely regularly come back when we're in the area.
This place is AWESOME!! For one price admission and you can play all kinds of vintage games. If you go to Asbury Park I highly recommend it.
Great spot to spend an hour or two going back in time. I would suggest off season visit. Much easier to jump around and play whatever you like with zero wait.
It's understandable why this place is considered an institution. The unlimited play is worth the money and it's not terribly expensive when you consider what you get to play ranging in from classic mechanical arcade games, vintage pinball and some amazing gaming cabinet classics. Each piece has a little history factoid about the game and its origin truly the best parts of an arcade and museum put together. Highly recommend the mechanical bowling game and this would be a perfect place for not only adult Han
Where can you go to an arcade all day for 20 bucks??? HERE!! Toms of pinball and old school games to play! You'll never run out of anything to do. The place is clean, easy parking when it's not summertime, and loads of fun and nostalgia!
We live Silverball! We drive over an hour and a half to come play! Even spent my 30th birthday here :)
This place brings back a lot of memories! They had most of the games I played at the arcade as a kid in the 70-80s. From pinball to video games it's a little pricey but was worth the memories. I think we paid $17 for 1 hour and you play whatever you want if of course no one else is. The longer you stay the cheaper it is.
Unlimited plays once you go in; a day pass can be $15?$25 depending on the time of day. It would be an absolute steal if you stayed here for 2+ hours. There are lots of pinball machines, skee ball, and some classic arcade games. Unfortunately, there isn't much in the way of light gun games with the sole exception of a Terminator 2 game. The food here is great. A little on the pricey side, but it's honestly not bad for the Boardwalk.
Definitely nice place right on the boardwalk the price is reasonable a lot of old pinball games plus a lot of old school games for everyone you have to check it out
Had some time to kill so we stopped in. What an unexpected surprise! Super clean, very well-cared for machines with interesting signage, friendly staff. I was blown away to find (and play) several really OG arcade games from when I was a kid. Great fun, great memories. Props to who ever keeps these things repaired and running - you are a wizard.
Absolute hidden gem at the Jersey shore! Chok full of families during the summer, and a great place to go in the winter! Always have excellent machines in good repair!
Coming from a moderate pinball enthusiast, this place is incredible. They have a vast selection of some of the most iconic and interesting pinball machines, as well as a few classic arcade games as well. Pinball machines are notoriously difficult to maintain, but the staff here does a stellar job at keeping them in working order. There is a snack bar/small dining area, which isn't particularly special but it does add a level of old-school charm. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Even if
What a great way to spend some time and have some fun.. plus It is a great history lesson at the same time. The admission prices are spot on and the 1/2 day entry gives you plenty of time to play. We also love the re-entry policy allowing you to step away for something to eat or to grab a drink and then return for more fun.
This place was terrible. The pizza was straight-up garbage. The sauce tasted awful, the crust was paper-thin and burnt, and the whole thing was clearly frozen ? not fresh at all. Honestly, frozen pizza from the supermarket tastes way better. On top of that, the fries were just as bad ? no flavor, no effort. For the prices they're charging, it's a total ripoff. Do yourself a favor and skip this spot. If you want real, quality pizza at the beach, go to Maruca?s Tomato Pie ? they blow this place out of the w
I love this place it's a perfect addition to the boardwalk. It's fun and educational the games work and above each one is the history of it. I found it very unique out of any other arcade that features vintage games and pinball. If you're in Asbury this is definitely the place to visit
I am not surprised by the 1 star reviews reporting rude staff or requesting to pay for ice. My fianc? and I had one of our first dates there. When we were having our engagement photos done last summer, we wanted to take one simple photo in the arcade. We were told by management that three of us, including the photographer would have to pay to simply walk inside and take one photo. One. Simple. Photo. Bogus business move, bro. Our wedding is coming up and we would have rented the arcade for our family. Not o
Welcoming staff, huge selection of retro games & boardwalk/ beach location. Updated review, June '25, great staff. Food available, e.g., pizza, soft drinks.
What a fun place to visit! The staff is friendly. There are many pinball machines of various levels to try. On this Saturday night in January, old ones and new ones throughout the space were flashing lights and playing music. There are also other games like shooting games, air hockey, ski ball, and basketball shooting. Time flies in a good way while there. It was not crowded but there were plenty of people there. It was a great date!
One hundred plus operable working pinball, machines and dozens of other retro games, including asteroids! You pay by the hour. At seventeen per hour or twenty dollars per day!! Restrooms and snacks are available. A clean and safe environment
17.50 for 1 hour! Too high. Plenty of pinball machines to play and other video games. A little dingy but still a cool place if you love pinball!
I've been coming here for years. If you're looking for a arcade in Jersey with a wide variety of both classic and new games at an inexpensive price, you've found it. At $20 for a half-day pass and $25 for an all-day pass, it's a great deal. You won't get bored even after being here for hours. Doesn't matter the season, Silverball always has a crowd. The staff have always been super friendly. The food isn't bad at all for boardwalk food, especially the pizza. It's always worth the drive just to come here.
Such a fun place. You can spend hours here. Great place for all ages. Highly recommend this place. They have so many games from all different years and it's awesome. The half day admission is worth the price. Such a cool place to enjoy both old and new pinball
What a fun place to hack away at classic video games, indulge some electronic nostalgia, and spend some clean fun time with the family. You can buy time by the half hour, hour, and so on, and then everything is free! No quarters here. It's fun to zip from pinball to pinball and game to game, and the historical information above the games is fascinating. Some great kid/family food and drinks too if you want refreshments. Seems great for a party, and great for all weather, good or bad. Friendly vibe.
Took my 2 adult children here and they loved it! I think it may have been the first time they played actual pinball machines. This place is great and is right on the Asbury Park boardwalk so you can't beat the view. I love how each machine has its history above it. You can play skee ball, air hockey, old school video games and of course pinball machines. It's a one time entrance fee and then you can play without quarters. They have a snack bar but I didn't really check it out. They also have space to have p
This is a great place to stop by and enjoy yourself. I like the way that you pay a one time fee and you get to play all the retro games you want(no quarter??). I went in the afternoon on a Saturday, paid $20.00 and was there for 5 hours. Definitely worth giving this place a try.
Yes. Go. Buy the hour pass. So many retro pinball machines to play - and all the other arcade classics you remember. Play the games and don't forget skeeball and air hockey. Get a t shirt - they have great merch. It's a unique and special place. Be prepared for a little sensory overload - but it's worth it.
For our wedding weekend in September 2024, we hosted a welcome party at the Silverball Retro Arcade, and it was truly one of the standout moments of the weekend. From start to finish, the arcade?s team was communicative, kind, and incredibly accommodating to all our requests. They were wonderfully flexible, allowing our planners to arrive early to set up food, drinks, and decor, which made the entire process seamless. The party experience itself was so fun. Silverball?s unique charm gave our guests of all
A wave of nostalgia! Just an unreal collection of video games/pinball, and unique & rare games. All in excellent condition, this place cares? anyone complaining about a few out of order games has no idea what it takes to maintain an arcade of this calibre. Super grateful it's not one of those ?arcades? that only puts in gambling style ticket games to win cheap novelty prizes. This place is for everyone who grew up with so many of these games, and the younger generations too! Everyone will have fun. Our g
What a priceless place- machines are wonderful and so well cared for! Thank you Mr. Ilvento and team for bringing back great memories and making new ones for us and our teenage daughter.
pretty awesome pinball collection in one of the coolest venues i've ever played in. was only put off by the fact that all of the machines have weird 4 and 5 ball settings. this is understandable as most people that happen in there aren't regular players so they enjoy the extra ball. as a regular player however it throws me for a loop. can't complain too much. owner (or manager?) was a really awesome guy.
Compared its competitors, this place is way too expensive. They reward those who want to come in and out all day, The people passing through to enjoy an hour get bent over. Almost $100 for a small family for 1 hour.
Nothing beats the Silverball experience. Super cool retro place with pinball, arcade and skill games. Surprisingly good is the Pizza at the recently added pizza shop next-door. And the chicken fingers are awesome as well.
Went for a father son day trip. Everything is so well-maintained and it's fascinating to play the games. They explain each one at the top with some interesting trivia and information about the design etc.. The staff was top shelf also and incredibly helpful. Would highly recommend.
This place is nostalgic. Love that you can buy $20 for 6hrs unlimited play. Definitely must for the kids to experience.
I've been coming here for about 20years with the Cranbury Summer Recreation Camp and it is fun every single time! You get to learn all about the history of pinball machines and video games while having a great time. One set price and no coins or cards. Hotdogs are awesome too. We will be coming for many more years!
Excellent place for a pinball machine lover. I visited again Oct 25th 2023. New photos included. Spent the day at my happy place. A large number of machines and they are kept obsessively clean and all in great working order. Pay one price; three options, and $20 for the full day.
Nice place good parking and right off the beach unfortunately my kid's are used to PS4 etc so this was rough since games are from a few generations ago nice for middle age folks and it's pay one price.
Fun and unique place, especially if you like pinball. So many pinball machines. It very big and some places are tight when people try to get by. Not much of a variety in games, but there are a few other than pinball machines.
This place is awesome. Get ready to be brought back in time. They have all.of the classics arcade games and pinball machines. A museum where you can actually tough and play with the items in the collection. Love how they have the history of each machine. Love this place and I will be back everytime I am in Asbury Park. Thank You for such a great experience.
Love this place, so many cool retro arcade games and pinball machine and more! Air hockey, skee ball, basketball, even a crane machine from the 1950s! Good prices too, around $17.50 for the whole night
I ordered half day passes for my nephews for Christmas. When it took forever for them to arrive Patty went out of her way to make sure they got here in time and offered to email me additional confirmation. Superb customer service for a fabulous place of business. 10/10 would recommend!
Came with the fsmily for Fsther's Day and had such a great time. Once price unlimited memories for all. Great selection of games and hsd a great time. Will go back!!!
Always fun here, one entrance fee and all the games are set on free play. Usually a different pinball game everytime we come.
We were there today, entry was $20 per person and it was like traveling through time. The weather was horrible and it's the off-season, but you can get lost in the best of ways with the pinball and video game collection. Just posting a photo of my all-time favorite machine, which I enjoyed today for the first time in decades. Thank you for preserving the past and incorporating the current as well - The Godfather pinball machine was also a blast!!
This is a cool place! Owner has put a lot of thoughts into here and highly recommend you stop in if you played pinball or arcade games in your younger days. What I found out was I played a lot more pinball and arcade games than I recalled! I remembered playing many of these pinball machines in the early 80's! I actually remembered more than I cared too! Stop in and spend an hour and play. You will be glad you did!
The Silverball Museum in Asbury Park is a prime example of what a retro pinball and video game ?museum? should be. Everything is playable, well maintained and loved with facts and high score charts for almost every game and pin. You pay based on the time you plan to spend inside so it's free play based on your play style. Food and drink are available and it's clean and the folks working there are friendly. You really couldn't ask more!
Right on the boardwalk. So many great unique games from the 50s to 2000s. Pay to get in and the games are free. If you like pinball you need to come here. Pizza ain?t bad either. No joke.
If you grew up along the shore and spent anytime on the boardwalk you played pinball. This place is a living museum. There are really old mechanical machines from the '50s and '60s up to the electronic and computerized machines of today. Play classics like Black night or Twilight Zone and see how it all started with super early machines. There are also video games and other arcade classics. A Street Fighter II machine was the new addition last time I visited. Definitely worth checking out.
Wow! Amazing place! Transported me back to my childhood. Tons of pinball machines plus so many of my favorite video games, speedball, air hockey and so much more. All the games were very well maintained. Love it@ can't wait to go back!
Great place for pinball and arcade games. Love that you can pay a set entry fee and play all the games. No cards, no refills, no stress.
We had a blast! My grandkids loved this place! They have every game under the sun! Fun place to play pinball! ??
For gamers that love the history of pinball and video games this place is tops!! Spent the whole 6+ hours here and would go back again and again. It's great to read the actual signs above the games and learn a little history. Makes the games more interesting as you play.
I love this place!!! Everytime we come to Asbury Park we end the day with a visit to the Silverball Museum! They have a great selection of games and the food is so good. In addition to pinball, you will find a great selection of classic arcade games like Defender, Asteroids, Donkey Kong and Frogger to name just a few. Pay one price at the door to get in, and everything is set to free play. I spent a lot of time in arcades in the 80's, and this takes me right back!
Attended a party here yesterday. Soooo many great games to choose from and plenty of machines from all decades. Bathrooms could surely have been kept up better. Overall it's a nice place to step off the boardwalk into some cool air and have some fun !
This place rocks! All the vintage pinball and arcade games you ever played as a kid (if you are over 35), but still great fun for your little ones. You pay per hour at the door and then you get unlimited play. It was great to play skee ball, slider bowling and arcade games without my little one begging me for quarters or tokens every 5 seconds. Tons of fun, nice clean bathrooms too.
Had a blast!! Can't wait to go back
Best attraction in Asbury Park at the Jersey Shore. Old and young alike all find something in this blast from the past. My favorite pinball machines: Mars Attacks and Medieval Madness. Deffinitely takes me back to my youth.
Very well kept together and a ton of selection. Rare to find all these retro games in one location. I hope everybody continues to support this place to keep the classics alive.
Want to take a flash back to your childhood or show the little ones what gaming was like before Playstation and Xbox? Silverball is THE place. Pay by the hour with all games free of charge once you are in they have an amazing assortment of pinball, table and arcade games spanning several decades. You will lose track of your day here and its on the beach!!
This retro pinball and video game arcade more than lived up to the hype! Heard about this Asbury Park Boardwalk staple thanks to tellemstevedave.com. Walt, Bry and Frank's new video podcast for Patreon "Bro-Side Attractions" brought them here to explore some of Silverball's gems such as Gottlieb's Charlie's Angels Pinball Machine and Bally's Elton John Capt. fantastic Pinball Game. My favorite of the lot was the 1996, Bally's Elvira's Scared Siff machine which was first presented at the AMOA show in Dallas
Retro arcade was fun , my son enjoyed it a little bit he was a little young but we had a good time with some games and the outside rides too. The staff was so nice.
So fun and informational! Loved all the games through the decades. Definitely plan for at least 2 or 3 hours here.
Did the 6 hour deal. Well worth it. All machines were up and running. Stuff from the late 1950s to 2000s. Punball and various video and arcade games. Really cool place and within walking distance to a couple bar/ restaurants.
Step back into how it should be, forget for a moment Xbox and all - just go and be a pinball wizard! Amazing collection you will not find, let alone play these fantastic machines. Great for all ages, one price gets access to all machines, great location. You will not be disappointed!!!
Got a half day pass which was super affordable and so worth it. Took a short break to get a drink next door and came back to play some more games. Their machines are in such good shape and well taken care of. The staff is so nice and friendly. Really fun historical placards above many of the pinball machines give you some fun information about the machines. Classic video games were available as well like Pac-Man, frogger, and Pong?also a personal favorite of mine skeeball!
Fun time here no matter the age! They have snacks?????????? available and are situated right on the boardwalk. My child had a party?????? here several years ago and was a hit ??for the kids AND the parents! Would love to know if there's an adult night?! Some machines need a leveling to balance them. It is so much fun, affordable to all for an hour or several hours to try them all??????
Excellent selection of pinball machines and a sprinkling of retro arcade machines. I loved that they had all of Jersey Jack machines to play. I will be going there again.
I think it's great that they do an upfront flat entrance fee and then everything is free play! Makes it a great place to practice and fun for new players so you don't get too frustrated by a short game. Lots of cool stuff besides pinball as well to play. All the play fields seem very well kept and still play fast!
Awesome place. All the old games brought back so many childhood memories
Favorite thing to do in Asbury Park. Prices are really good and it's fun for the whole family - we always spend at least an hour or two here! I love how they have the history and info provided for every game.
The Silverball Arcade is an awesome experience and so accommodating! We were able to have our wedding party and family come to take pictures there! While I only have a sneak preview so far, the photos came out AMAZING in the arcade. Such a wonderful experience and hit for anyone attending! Highly suggest going to the arcade for fun or for pictures!
Lots of fun. Very clean setting and a lovely working museum. The machines are well maintained, probably in better shape than at their original settings. Reserving one star because the only thing I needed here was a beer.
June 2024 What a wonderful way to reconnect with your childhood. Being a 70s/80s kid, this place really brought back memories of many Saturdays at the local mall?s arcade. We spent only an hour here but I could have played these games for an afternoon. Pac-man, Missile Command, Asteroids, and Donkey Kong were staples of my time in the 80s, and I played them all here and many others, including numerous pinball machines and some very retro baseball games from the 50s and beyond. Such a cool place I highly
Best arcade I have ever been to. Pay $20 for all you can play hours of entertainment on retro games from every decade. Super fun.
Absolutely amazing; an absolute pinball heaven! Well-maintained machines, incredible rare classics, and machines from every era. Flat-rate pricing; a pinballer's dream.
Incredibly fun pinball arcade! So much variety! Many cool historical games. Friendly staff & good snack food!
Such a fun, different place. We spent a rainy afternoon there and enjoyed every moment.
This place is so fun and affordable you can play as many games as you want for only $20! I would totally recommend this place!
This is an AMAZING place. I cannot recommend it enough! This is literally heaven for anyone who even has a passing interest in pinball or arcade games. The fee to play is extremely reasonable and all of the games have trivia for you to read. If you're ever in the area this is a can't miss place to go.
We had so much fun here! We paid $17.50 for the endless time in the arcade which let us play as many games as we wanted until closing time. The skee ball was my favourite. They had tons of pinball machines but also a lot of vintage games I'd never seen at other vintage arcades. Super fun.
Amazing place! We got caught in the rain and took shelter here. I could stay there all day and you can for about $15. Old school arcade games and pinball. All games are FREE when you're in there. Complete your favourite game.
Best place on Earth. Coming all the way from LA 2 years in a row! Wish we had something comparable, but nothing compares.
Amazing place with a ton of old and new pinball games . The staff are extremely friendly. The silverball museum is on the boardwalk just a few feet from the beach. Great location and fun. Relive your youth or try some of the new Jersey jack pinball machines.
It's got a lot of different machines. It was cool to see the vintage ones. The man at the register just kind of stares off at you like he don't want to be bothered. Not very friendly. Other than that you'll have a nice time playing the games.
Visited on my day off for something different to do. Despite the long drive, I am sure I will be back. A "museum" in that there are many pinball and some arcade games from my teens but an "arcade" because they are all playable. And a flat rate so all are free play to play the games from your past and play other older or newer games you might not have tried. Highly recommend.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
