Showplace Entertainment Center

My family has visited this bowling center several times, and it's always a great experience! With plenty of lanes and excellent service, it's a fun place for everyone. Overall, our experiences have consistently earned a five-star rating. The only issue we encountered was that the bumper rails need maintenance and were not working for my kids, which was a bit disappointing. However, aside from that, everything else was perfect! We will definitely be back for more family fun!

I went to a kid's birthday party there recently the food was delicious! The kids had a great time, and after the bowling part was over, the party flowed into a meh arcade with meh prizes, but the kids don't really notice. The pizzeria within bowling alley is legit. The bar had a good special for 1/2 dozen coronas in a bucket. The alley itself desperately needs a make over. This alley is very easy on the pocket over the fancier bowling spot on the island but like I said it needs a modernization

Showed up at 8:15 on a Wednesday. Website says closed at 10. They said we can't get a lane cause they close at 9 actually. We said update your website. Went there at 730 on the website it said they closed at 1200 am on Friday. Paid for 2 hours they said we only could play for one and a half hour meanwhile website said they closed at 12. Was no customer service another family came in to bowling and they turned them away. Next time I'm going to rabs

Little outing with my mom for her birthday. We went bowling at showplace. Guy at counter was nice but our overall experience wasn't great. Aside from us losing 10 minutes of our paid game waiting for someone to fix our stuck pins and all, we realized the lane ( Lane 29) is warped. Every bowl kept going right - ultimately effecting the game.

The weirdest situation. The place looks closed and abandoned. I just went with my daughters and a man didn't acknowledge us. So I called. He jumped right up to answer so I said ?that's me calling. Can you help me?? He said ?no he'll be right back. There was another guy eating a slice of pizza. He also ignored us. It's not safe.

I would like to thank Showplace Bowling for hosting such an amazing surprise party for my mom! I told them exactly what I wanted and they did more than I could imagine. The food was absolutely delicious! Thank you so much! I highly recommend using the party room for your next party??

It was Ok... was hard to find the right balls, the Lanes / bumbers for kids were not functioning properly. Not all pins came up every other time. So the place is a bit dated and needs a refresher. We still had a nice time with our company.

I was there today for my nephew?s birthday and the manager STEPHANIE was very rude, no manners at all.

A very modern bowling alley with several different "styles" of bowling. Traditional bowling is still available but called "bowling plus" and provides more statistics for each player from both a frame and game level. Pizza is pretty good too. Definitely will be bringing the family back!

I have been going here once per week, every week. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because the staff that I deal with when I go there is great. However, the lanes malfunction frequently, and the place really needs to be upgraded.

Parking lot is dark, would explain why not many people know this place is still a bowling alley. Lanes are too bright. Announcements are too loud. Prices change all the time. Paid $50 tonight. Not expensive. You get what you pay for. And I don't mean that in a negative way. If you just need to bowl... this is a GREAT choice. But... Alleys are tired. But Management The best! My husband and I came here for a date night/afternoon. We had a lot of fun. The employees were very kind to us. Great atmosphere for a good time.

Great atmosphere, great lanes, great pizza. Showplace Is an awesome place to bowl.the lanes are kept in great condition, the staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable. An hour of bowling cost $28 for the lane on a weekend,$5 for shoe rental, and a pie costs about $14.

Unfortunately my experience at this place was far from good. I had brought my autistic 4-year-old daughter there last week and a co-worker was mocking my daughter for clapping in excitement. I couldn't believe it. This day and age autism is more understood, and if it isn't, they should understand it isn't right to make fun of someone period! God awful. The bowling ball return kept getting stuck and it took more than 10 minutes to get the game back up. This happened 3 times. We paid $50 for basically 30 minutes. The third time it happened, we all walked out.

The bowling lanes need to be updated. Had to do quite a few pin resets because the system froze or some of the pins were not set(would set 6 or 7 out of 10 pins). The rails for young and amateur bowlers had to be propped up with a piece of wood. If you're going there for some sort of other entertainment, there's not much.

I went to another bowling alley on Staten Island and I didn't like it all because it's too small, dull, bad customer service, and staff. The bowling balls was greasy, and not enough variety. I will not set foot at the bowling alley again.

The customer service was horrible. It smells in there. The 2 lanes they gave us were not operating properly. Most of our hour was wasted waiting for them to rectify the issue. They did not extend our time. We most likely will not return

As a parent of a special needs individual I was so saddened to have my daughter and her friends treated with such rudeness and disdain. People like my daughter only wish to be part of this world. I truly wonder who are the special needs people. Never to return.

Just had my grandson birthday there. We had such a great time. The staff is funny and friendly. This place is awsome

Horrible experience. We spent $230 for 2 lanes, 1hr of bowling and $100 worth of food and drinks. We got moved 3 times from our lanes cause off technical difficulties. Lost about 20 min in the process for something that wasn't our fault and we had to argue with management just to reinstate our lost time. In short they gave us back 16 minutes after constant pleading. It's clear they don't care about the patrons they go there. We spent $230 and would've spent MORE had they done the right thing.

1st timer - showed up at parking lot and I taught I was some where deserted, odd! Every building looked closed! Walked into the lobby - smells like cigarettes and mildew. The bowling area fairly clean, however the house bowling balls are not organized - difficult finding the right ball. You literally have have to try every ball to find one that fits. The alley just feels dated af. It was alright - Rabs is waaaay better!

I just had my daughters birthday party here this past weekend and overall I was very pleased with everything, I want to mention the attendants who helped me; Nevaeh and Jalena they were really wonderful and took care of everything! I would recommend asking for them if possible. The only thing I would mention is the 15% service charge they add to the bill at the end. Has no sign outside indicating its SHOWPLACE, lobby smells of cigarettes, it's very run down, I'm suprised they've remained open, paid $30 with 3 shoe rentals for an hour of bowling for 2 adults & 2 kids, which wasn't bad (wknds only 930-1130), they definitely need a major renovation, but I'd bring my kids back again as they seemed to enjoy it.

Staff has bad attitudes, lanes breaks every 2 seconds and you spend more time trying to fix it then actually playing. Most definitely won't be back there

My opinion is based on my 1 interaction... I called in the morning and asked to reserve a lane. They told me no reservations, first come first serve... league bowling ends at 8:30pm (it clears out), so come a bit before and add your name to the list. Waited a while to go... I showed up with my 3 kids at 8:15.. was told... Oh there are open lanes when the leagues are going on, so since others have the open lanes there's about a 45 to 60 minute wait... Horrible place to have a child's party. They weren't prepared when we got there early to set up balloons and cake, and the manager was an unprofessional douche. He didn't care one bit to make the customer happy. Only 2 of the young girls working there were helpful and caring. The place was nice and spacious, though the bowling space that was given to us had issues with the machine where the names are entered and had to switch lanes. The next problem came with the pin's not being placed properly each time the player switch turns. Had to reach out to the table multiple time to ask for reset. I went twice with my family and had a great time. The place was clean and very well kept. The first time we went, my 5 year old daughter was able to use the little slide that kids use to throw the ball since she can carry it but not swing it with one arm. For her it was a blast. We got married at Grand Oaks on Saturday June 29th and our hotel for the out of town guests was the Fairfield Inn that is across the parking lot. Mediocre food but luckily it's not too expensive but the floors are visibly dirty every time I go here, several times a month, and the lanes' pin machine rarely work properly for more than a few minutes. Also don't bring your own bowling balls here as the machines are guaranteed to scratch and dent them. Fun for casual bowling but not to seriously practice in.

The place looks like it needs some tlc. Frequent issues with the machines. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. We end up here once in a while when Rabs is overbooked. Battery then not bowling but not as nice as Rabs.

I love this bowling alley. The staff is always very courteous and willing to help. The lanes themselves always look freshly oiled and clean. The midnight bowling with the fluorescent lights is a really nice touch for the younger crowd. All sports are better if you can include black neon lights

Went with my 2 children terrible the employees were not wearing mask or not wearing correctly. No one sanitizing or social distancing at all! Very disgusting and unsafe during this pandemic. Won't be going ever again

i came here tonight with my boyfriend at 10:45pm and tried to get a lane which place was semi busy and the girl at counter denied us and said they are closing. the website and online says 12:00midnight so we drove 20 mins for nothing and had to cancel on the others that were meeting us there. poor business to do that to customers. will not be coming back.

Great for some evening/late night bowling! Colorful lanes with an exhilarating A/V system. Fun arcade, too. Only reason it doesn't get five stars from me is because the prices are pretty high for bowling and my lane had some technical difficulties while I was there with a friend (they didn't refund us the 15 minutes we waited for the lane to be fixed and they charge by the hour here).

Went here once for a school fundraiser. At the time they did not have the appropriate equipment for the younger children. I have heard since they have gotten the kids bowling apparatus. The issue I had was that a couple people didn't have pizza because they ran out, yet they paid. I think as a respectable business you get 2 extra slices and work it out with the organization later.

I was with my client and his family for a birthday party and everything was amazing. Everyone had a good time, enjoyed some good food, and played arcade games. Great place for kids and adults.

Plaza needs an upgrade, specifically the bowling alley... Looks like the aesthetic is trapped in 1995...lanes and equipment are often down and failing...parking lot poorly lit at night ,possibly deterrent for women and children to come here late... Disappointed in what has become of it..

Always have a wonderful experience when going to Showplace Entertainment Center. The atmosphere is very inviting. The management and staff are professional and friendly. They have a pro shop on site as well with top quality bowling equipment. The restaurant located at the Center has fantastic food. The cleanliness of the establishment is top notch. Can't wait to go back. This has become one of my favorite places.

Lane did not work for a long time and problem was not fixed. Supposedly the mechanic was unwilling to fix the lane. Arcade was not good, ate all my friends coins. For next time, I think I'll sit and watch paint dry instead of spending my money here. Very unprofessional and terrible service.

We had our soccer team's end of year party at Showplace. We had a party room and catered food for the adults and 2 lanes for the kids all for a very reasonable price. Natalie, our party coordinator, took care of us from start to finish! I would definitely recommend Showplace to anyone looking to have a party for a team or organization.

They had no proper bowling ball sizes for literally half of my group. Literally to the point where we couldn't throw the balls because they didn't have any sizes over medium. On top of this, the bowling shoes were so worn out that I was slipping walking up to bowl. I had to put back on my sneakers. Wasted my money and literally was the worst bowling experience I've ever had in my entire life, no lie.

The staff was helpful and responded rather rapidly when we had issues while bowling. I took two stars away because they only have one slide for younger kids to use while bowling so we had to wait for a family to finish using it before our kids could use it. Also, their arcade is old and rundown. There are no accommodations for people with large hangs and forget about someone trying to help you. Your on your own. We went there a couple of days ago to have a good family experience. The service was HORRIBLE! They made a mistake when we asked to play a certain amount of games. We paid over $80 and didn't even finish playing a single game. & even though they owned up to their mistake they refused to fix it.

We had more expectations for our sons 5 year old birthday party. They showed us two decent roomes months ago. This alley is okay, the lanes seem to break down regularly, and the prices are a bit high given the quality. Unfortunately, there aren't many other options on Staten Island, with Rabs being the only other choice, but quite far away from many people. Overall I'd say come here when they have a special on Tuesday nights or weekend mornings, otherwise it's a rip-off.

I have been going to Showplace with my babysitting for so many years. We always have a great time. We take advantage of the special 1 bowling, shoe rental for 4 and 1 large pizza. Always a great experience

Trash arcade decent bowling Games are old and falling apart. They eat the coins and never dispense tickets. The poor boy behind the game counter is sweet and very accommodating. He needs 8 arms to help everyone at once.

Place is run down. No more billiards, the nice pool hall closed. Half the Arcade machines do not work. Prizes in some machines are still in there from the 90's. Comedy center never opens. Place has potential but owners apparently do not care.

Pizzeria provides greasy food options. Arcade has classics including skee- ball, various shoot-em-ups, whack-a-gator and more. Birthday party rooms provide separation but lack air flow.

It's a nice bowling alley, however, the bumpers don't work properly and some kids had a challenging time with it. In addition, the people in charge there didn't seem to be the nicest people and treated us rudely.

Showplace Bowling Center ended a school sponsored event for special needs children an hour early due to a "tournament coming in". I stayed and let my son bowl anyway (& had to pay for what was supposed to be free). This "tournament" had their people just arriving even over an hour after the school event was ended early. Extremely disappointing that this place would cut short a children's event unnecessarily. NOT RIGHT TO DO TO CHILDREN WHO WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS EVENT! Shame on them!

The place is great but I think for an hour of bowling is more expensive than other local bowling places. The arcade was fun, but it's best with little children since the prices are our dated and suit little kids rather than all ages.
