Shankz Mini Golf & Arcades

Shankz Mini Golf & Arcades

Reviews Summary

Shankz offers a fun, family-friendly glow-in-the-dark mini golf experience with a clean, well-maintained facility. Most reviewers praise the friendly staff, strong drinks, and unique atmosphere, though some note the course is small or lacks challenge. The arcade and VR options add variety, but space can feel cramped. Reservations are recommended due to high demand. While most rate it highly (5 stars), a few criticize policies like early ticket cutoffs or fees for non-players. Overall, it’s a great spot for memories, though some wish for more games or better signage on rules.

Very nice place, clean and friendly. Kiddos loved the place, 17 holes of mini golf with fun designs. Don't expect a Disneyland experience, but something nice and fun to kill time with the kids. Fun little cotton candy machine inside as well as a decent drink list for the adults. Games aren't too expensive in the arcade compared to other arcades now a days. Only reason I'm rating it 4 stars is because what drew me here was the pictures of the standing VR setups. On closer inspection looks like those photos w

What a fun place! We reserved our tee time online. Was running a bit five minutes late so called. No problem at all. The putt putt course is fun and just the right length. Spent some time in the arcade after putt putt which was fun. It's small but packed with plenty to do. Parking is easy..huge common parking lot.

Went there over the weekend with family and was a disappointed. The course is 17 holes with the 18 being a ball drop. Most of the holes were similar with a tunnel that put the ball a couple feet from the hole. There were a few that had the tunnel send the ball to the hole however said tunnel did not line up with the hole so we felt robbed of a hole in 1. The only thing that made this place stand out was that it was black light and glow in the dark.

According to my wife this place is extremely fun but since she said that reservations weren't necessary, they were booked up and we couldn't wait for 2 hours. Plan on returning soon and will update at that point. Update 03.23.2024? had a really fun time with the wife after diner. It was dead because it was much later in the night. Very cool decor as you can see from the pics. The coarse is fairly easy but take you time and enjoy the coarse!!!! Takes about 45 minutes if not trying to speed through. We both e

This was a beautiful experience. The miniature golf was beautiful and well designed. Myself and family enjoyed ourselves. The arcade was amazing. Drinks amazing. Food amazing. Service amazing. It's a small place but fun and adventurous.

Myself, granddaughter, daughter and her boyfriend all went to check this place out. It was definitely fun, the black light glow mini golf was an interesting and different type of mini golfing experience. It is somewhat small inside, especially where the arcade games are. There is a variety of games to play to accommodate different age ranges. Overall, it was an experience that warrants a return with other grandkids I wasn't able to bring along this time.

This place was great for a rainy day on Spring Break with my 5, 7 and 12 year old. We will definitely be coming back. Just a suggestion to those that are planning on going, book your Tee Time in advance for the day. You can do it online. We just stopped in because of the rain and were in the area. My boys love putt putt and arcade games. So I thought, well this is cool! We just happened to luck out and get a walk-in Tee Time (Someone else had canceled). I did a package deal that included a round of golf, g

Fun indoor miniature golf with blacklight experience. A bit pricey. Frankly enjoy outside more than inside golf. As mentioned by others the balls light up different colors but kept turning off requiring one to drop the ball repeatedly on the floor to reactivate. On 18th ?hole? one inserts by hand the ball into a hole sending the ball through a somewhat interesting path until it disappears. Disappointing however that this was not an actual finale hole. The gaming area was fun but some games were very short.

Quick stop in for some mini golf and arcade games. Their Spring Special right now is a good deal where they double whatever you put on a game play card.

Fun, clean space! Would be fun for an adult party even. Wish the candy claw machine actually gave out candy ?? for a $.50 swip it should give an 8yr old a tootsie roll!

My family and I visited this arcade/mini golf place during our spring break, and unfortunately, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I took time off work to spend quality time with my kids, and this was one of the activities we were looking forward to. I purchased a round of mini golf along with a $30 game card. After finishing mini golf, I realized I didn't have a game card, so I went to the counter to ask about it. The employee I spoke with, McKayla, was extremely rude and unprofessional. S

SCHEDULE AHEAD. We were told of a 20-30 minute wait, no reservation needed, and by the time we got there, it was an hour wait. This place is extremely tiny for a mini golf center, like the size of an Exxon gas station, AC blasting on high, perfect spot to beat the heat, half the building is arcades and a VR setup, under 20 games, and the golf section on the other. 100% a place for kids or under 18, but adults, there's better and bigger spots.

Drinks were good and strong. Putt putt was good! Some of the blacklights weren't working so it wasn't as Fluorescent as I was expecting. My boyfriend and I had fun!

We enjoyed the indoor mini golf. A chance to hide from the sun for our family. The facility was clean. The course was fun.

It was fun, but every few minutes the balls kept turning off, so we couldn't tell who's ball was who's if we weren't paying attention to where our ball stopped.

Fun little place. Neat and tidy. Took us about 45 minutes with party of 4. I do like the server coming around during the game for drinks. I do feel it's a tad expensive for what it offers.

So much fun packed into this place! We went to play for mini golf and ended up doing to VR and games. Super nice family who runs the place, clean and well kept. Will be going back!

The staff was super nice and explained everything! The kids had so much fun, especially the cannonball game! Great family day activity!

Took my 8 year old and 4 year old here and they loved it! It was fairly priced and the add on for the arcade was also a big plus. We will definitely be back.

the tall blonde one with glasses gave the best customer service ive ever received in my life. 10/10 would come back!!

Black light does add a measure of difficulty, but the course is not engineered to to be able to make a hole in one except on maybe one. I like a challenge, but not if it's impossible.

Nice little spot for mini golf. The course is cool with nature themes illuminated by UV light making the course glow. My ball kept losing its illumination and after the first few holes I was playing with it off. My girlfriend and I felt a little rushed by the family behind us as we waited for the family ahead of us to get through the course. This is pretty typical in mini golf though. Overall had a good time !

Super cute it was a bit of a wait bc I didn't rsvp but the atmosphere was nice and the drinks were strong

. The mini golf portion is definitely worth going it's only about 15 a person and takes about an hour to complete The arcade portion is definitely a little small and doesn't have that many games to pick from , and unlike a lot of arcades you don't win tickets while playing the games. But still fun for smaller kiddos

So much fun for kids and adults. Our party host was AWESOME. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Shankz and staff.

I went with my family this afternoon. My 87 year old mom was with us, but she was not going to play. We have been there many times and always loved the place but Ryan, the Manager, informed us that the policy is for walkers to pay $7.50 (50%). I am frankly shocked that an elderly person would have to pay just to step on the course. She would have been with the group, not holding us back and did not want to play. While I may understand a policy where a teenager or adult get charged so that more people don't

I am so SO thrilled to have a place like this in the Woodlands. I nanny for a family and the two kiddos are always begging me to take them to do fun things. SHANKZ THE WOODLANDS MADE MY JOB OF ENTERTAINING THE KDIS SO EASY. It's clean, upbeat, full of things to do.. and the kids cannot wait to go back...

This place is amazing, we had so much fun celebrating my husband's birthday. They have a really Kool VR game set up, aiir hockey, high tech video games. Everything was clean, even the bathroom. It's small but mighty, we can't wait to go again.

Had a great time here! Course was fun, staff was friendly.

We had planned on Main Event (no shade, shankz) after dinner and found shankz because we wanted to play mini golf! It is smaller and isn't a huge game spot like Main Event or your other popular arcade and entertainment style spots - but it was fun! The staff are super nice, and upon reading, I see it's family owned, which we love! Everything worked and the entire facility was very clean! The blacklight put put was super cute and fun! I would definitely recommend!

Today was my first visit and I had a ball. Loved the glow in the dark gulf course. Not many other attractions which is probably why the games were a little high in price. Could also use a few age appropriate games for younger kids (age 5) but overall it was a good experience.

Fun yes but limited! Not bad for those who need to kill some time with the kids.

Fun mini golf place that was cooler inside than expected. There is a small arcade to enjoy while you're waiting (at an extra cost) for your golf game and cute photo ops. The wait was kind of long (40 minutes or so) and I'd recommend making an appointment in advance to avoid waiting too long. There was no one directly ahead of our group playing, but a group was let in behind us a little too close and we had to rush on some holes which was frustrating. The decor and black light/glow part of the course was rea

3D Glasses need to come back a bit pricey for just mini golf. Best get a package.

Customer service is great. However, the price for what you get is absurd. $50 for 3 people to play ?18 holes? isn't worth it. Took 15 mins to play. Absolutely wouldn't recommend.

We had a blast, gold cou6was fun, best part we got to escape from the Texas heat, only thing I wished was different was in the arcade area there really isn't much games to play, you prob play all the games in like 30 minutes, over all fun..aslo wish there was a location on the south side of Houston

Had fun. The arcade is not as big but the VR is awesome and the mini golf is fun.

We go to Shankz for the putt-putt (mini golf). Nice little course. Staff is always great. Some good arcade games for after a round of putting.

It was really fun and well decorated. The guy working was also really nice

Was very fun place staff was very friendly. Reasonable prices and no to crowded!

The most fun I've had in a while! Reserving a tee time was easy, the staff was friendly and quickly got us ready for mini golf, and the price was very affordable for my big family! We'll definitely be back!

Took my nephew here because he wanted to play miniature golf, and after looking up a few places, we decided to go to Shankz. It was a family-friendly establishment, and we enjoyed ourselves. The course is inside and air conditioned, which is a must for Texas heat. The course was well done, and the entire establishment was clean and well kept. We did one of their packages that included golf and credits for the arcade, which was a great value. Definitely recommend going on their website and reserving a tee ti

It was a great night enjoying video games and mini golf, recommend it for all the family

We had a great experience. We got the special for Labor day and our family was treated amazing! Helped us through all the games and ensured everyone had a blast.

Fun place but kind of cramped. If you're someone with claustrophobia or just really want to have a good amount of personal space, you might not want to come here... particularly during a weekend. The mini golf is fun, even if the last hole isn't really part of the game and is just a random "drop your ball here" task. Video game selection is limited but decent for the space they're operating with. The place is kept clean and while their scheduling and rules might seem strict, it's all so EVERYONE can have

We made our first trip there today, and it was a lot of fun.

We didn't have a reservation, but without one the wait for a group of 3 was roughly 15-20 minutes. Price/value was great and staff was very friendly and the game/arcade room was clean. Wasn't too busy when we went, but I assume that is because of the reservations/time slots. I gave 4 stars because as incredible as the place is, I do wish the 18 hole course had larger spaces for the putting greens. I get that it is indoors so spacing is limited, but I do wish some of the greens had a bit more of a challeng

1st time, Great experience, Thanks to Joesph, very polite and explained everything correctly.

We were so excited to come here and meet our family. This was over an hour drive for our families to meet as a half way point and due to traffic it took us an hour and a half. We purposely looked for a locally owned business to support when choosing a meeting place. We ended up getting there at 7:30PM. We walked to the counter and began to say that we needed tickets to golf. The two boys at the counter said, ?I'm sorry, but we quit selling tickets at 7:30.? I explained that we drove with our families over a

Mini golf was awesome! Decent selection of arcade games and one air hockey table. VR was cool but maybe it's just me or if it's a VR thing but it is very slippery and difficult to make my character walk. But it was fun regardless! Schedule ahead of you can, they seem to run out of slots quickly.

The mini golf was kinda fun but the experience was ruined by the two employees that acted annoyed and frustrated to see our family come through the door. (We are on a family vacation and had 13 people in our group.) The kids were excited but not acting up. The workers were rude and made passive aggressive comments about us ?cooperating? when two adults played one of the arcade games while waiting for everyone to get checked out. I regret giving them our business and wished we would have found a place that w

It was pretty good. The thing I didn't account for was that the dark combined with the noises was a bit scary for my 4yo daughter. I mean she should get over it, but still it was a factor. --edit-- To be clear, I wasn't complaining or saying it's bad. Just included the note so others are aware. It was still a good time.

Awesome place for family, we had lots of fun celebrating moms bday

It was clean and well kept. Over 90 degrees in the shade, an indoor place was welcome. A bit pricey. They have adult drinks.

Went here for the first time and we had an absolute blast! It was busy as it was the weekend but the wait went by quickly since we were having a blast playing the arcade games. The put put course is super awesome and my group and I had so much fun going against each other. We weren't keeping score but you easily can with their app. We weren't able to try out the VR since we had dinner plans but that is at the top of our list when we go back. The staff was very friendly and helpful, it's super clean, and eve

I wasn't going to write a review per the last response feel it is necessary. This may very well be an employee training issue however our family drove over an hour and a half meet in the middle. No where on the website (that I found) does it say you must reserve or arrive before 730 to play. Unfortunately when we entered the employee handled it extremely rude. Never did we ask for anything free and asked about a club for the toddler with our group and was informed they do not allow toddlers to have clubs be

So much fun for the whole family! 3 generations of our family went together and we all (from 5 yr to 56 yr) had a great time. Variety of arcade games, VR choices that are so fun, and of course, glow in the dark mini golf! We had a blast!

This was a nice break from the Houston heat. The theme of each hole is really cool, but the courses of each hole are generally the same. Before we played we played games while we waited. They were running behind so our start time was delayed. It was me, my husband, and our two year old son. We were charged two packages that included two rounds of golf and a game card. When it came time to play I asked for a club for my son to ?play?. He's two he can't actually play I just thought he carry a little club to f

It was a nifty inside miniature glow in the dark golfing course

Went here for a double date and we all had a great time. We did mini-golf and then the VR experience. The guy hosting the VR experience was awesome and made the whole thing even more fun than it would?ve been. We were too exhausted to play any of the arcade games but we took a look at the selection and are gonna come back again

Really great staff! They were enthusiastic about our experience, allowed us to take the course at our own pace. Had no major issues with other putters on the course. Very fun environment with the black lighting, the black carpet makes it slightly challenging, but all in all it was great for beginners! Kids would have a good time! Thanks for having us!

Took my family (including 3 year old son) today and had a great time. Beautiful and creative mini golf course with astounding/amazing decor. Great customer service from management and fun arcade games. Looking forward to trying the VR.

My 18 year old daughter is leaving for college in the fall. Decided to do a Dad/daughter night that included dinner and "fun." So glad we picked Shankz. We had a GREAT time - lots of fun - making wagers with one another on each hole. In the end, we created a memory. Thank you Shankz for providing smiles and laughter.

Came here last weekend with my nephew and niece and we had a blast! After we played, they wanted to go again and due to reservations, we were fortunate enough to get the first one! But we did get to ply some of the arcade games and win some quick prizes from the claw machine. All in all, great place - worth the drive!!

$15 a round that went pretty quickly. Cute course with golf balls that lit up. App to keep score but if you back out of the scorecard, deletes your scores! Some arcade games that are geared towards older kids, 1/2 price game card with round of golf.

When I walked in it look really spectacular and the employees were very kind. I thought that it was separate rooms to do mini golf in. Nope. I'm mean it was fun but their was a huge back up becuase of a huge teenage girl group of 10. On the same course. When the employee specifically said "ONLY a group of 4." And at the desk I saw security cameras on the course. The thing is that the workers didn't ask the group of girls to only be In a group of 4 that's what peeved me.

The place is great for kids and adults. We had a blast playing all 3 main games ( mini golf. Time freak and cannonball. ). The staff is very friendly and tell you when you're turn is next. The place is really clean. I highly recommend this place to have fun on a cloudy Saturday like today. You spend a good hour inside.

Horrible mini golf place. Meant for elementary school kids. There aren't 18 holes like they claim, it's 17! Holes are easy, no challenge like all the other places I've been to!! NOT WORTH THE $$#

Unfortunately I had to give my experience here one star. I came in with my husband, my 6yo son and our 6 yo nephew. To begin the prices are steep. It is 12 per person. Obviously we could handle that but were told it was a 45 minute wait. Whatever. The issue began when I went to order alcohol. The service at the counter was subpar. I was told in a tone that I did not find friendly in the slightest to "put the menu back where I got it from." The bathrooms consist of two stall and they are not clean. What land

Had to wait an hour for open golf slot, came back 10 min early for check in and paid, the guy said he would call us in a couple of minutes. Has us waiting another 15 minutes and clocks out and leaves. Apparently marked us as no show even though we were waiting right in front of them and he never calls us in. The rest of the staff was nice though.

Great little stop for a fun date night! We spent about an hour playing mini golf and another thirty minutes or so playing video games. Lots of dining options are nearby in the same parking lot/ strip.

Good place to spend time with the kids here playing Minigolf. There are also some slot machine. All machines are in good condition and are working. The staff here is very pleasant.

The staff was super nice, mini golf was so much fun, and reasonably priced. I was super surprised at how many holes there were!! Wish their arcade area was a bit bigger, but definitely a really fun place for adults and kids.

When it's hot outside and you need to entertain the kids, this is the place! Great for a fun little date night too. Not a huge arcade/ game area but enough for a little fun without having to break the bank. Miniature golf course is fun with the black light and dinosaur themed course.

We love coming here with our kids ages 11 and 3 , it is kid friendly and this is the only glow in the dark mini golf that we know of. Please support this small business so that they can stay open for many more years.

Wow! What a gem, the staff was great and super friendly! They set us up for a round of golf and games! Such a fun date night for me & hubs! Over the years we have been coming in, but THEY HAVE RENOVATED!! Virtual reality and wine? YES PLEASE! Extra stars for being so clean!! #weloveshankz

Great experience, even for adults! Extremely clean and well kept facility. You can tell they take pride in their business. Plenty of entertainment and fun for everyone. I think the prices are justified! Awesome visual effects.

1 star was the least I could do? Workers were rude, and complaining about people enjoying their time in the lobby while having to wait over and hour to play. When our group finally got to go in and putt we saw a young gentleman break his club. Then the employee came in and immediately kicked him out without explanation. Told him ?It's either his job or the gentleman had to leave?. I can only imagine how many clubs and balls get broken/ lost in a day?Not a very happy customer? wouldn't recommend boys

We always have a great time!

Seriously wonderful date night. Really good music, clean golf course, amazing staff, both owners were there that night which tells you they CARE about their business. AND THEY SERVE BEER AND WINE NOW. I was sipping sparkling wine while playing Air Hockey... so much fun.

If I could leave Negative stars I would. We had arrived at a dead period and still waited over an hour and a half to even play. Once we started to play. The light was very dim and not ver glowy and vibrant. The staff was very uptight and seemed to have one of their own clubs up their own? you know what. My Christian brother had accidentally gotten a little too into the excellent relaxing last time game of mini golf, short putt, putt putt if you will; and had accidentally broken a club. He was very apologet

They did an amazing job and were super gracious with our group! They went above and beyond meeting every request and question we had with amazing attitudes! The refund system is a little wonky, honestly. But I'm sure that'll be fixed in time. Shankz is 10/10, Shankz' employees are 15/10! Special thanks to David and Ethan for helping our group and being awesome! As well to Ryan for bearing with me throughout the entire refund process!

Called and was told no reservations needed. When we arrived we were told it was 2.h hr wait for golf. They dropped the ball. Don't plan on going unless you make a reservation, even then hopefully you won't be lied to like I was.

What a fun and affordable day. The staff was friendly, helpful and laughed with our fun. We did the package that included the golf and both of their games. We also played a couple of video games. If I lived in the area, I would go again!

This place was fun. I love being a big kid ??

This place was so much fun!!!! It was worth the $30 per person for golf, VR, and $10 game card! It was a great date night and I can't wait to being the kids next time!!10 out of 10!!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

Fun place to play glow n the dark mini golf. They have a couple of other games I haven't seen another place have and the kids had a blast playing them. They need a bigger place and and more video games. I can see they will outgrow that location and eventually move.

It's super clean, bright and fun when it's raining or too cold outside.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
