Staff was great and love how there are emulator cabinet/console games to play. Aesthetically looks great in there. Went in for a free on femme?s night but typically has a cover but all games are free. They also had a nice selection of drinks. Not too crowded and they had good music. Only reason for four stars because some of the cabinet games weren't working. Otherwise a great place and would come back if I were in the area!
I've been here twice now, both times with the same group of friends (Generally) and it's been wonderful. It has a comfortable atmosphere with welcoming people, and if you're looking for a fun way to pass the time, look no further. Only good memories have come from here.
Went to go see my friend that was taking part in a tournament! I'm huge into games so it was fun to go around a play different things! From New to Old, there's a big variety! Some games I've never even heard of! (Please get SoulCalibur 2 somehow ??) There was a couple of machines down (from what I remember they seemed like driving type games) The employee?s there are very find, helpful, and just helped me feel comfy! For food I had the chicken skewers with a side of fries and it really filled me up, very g
The concept is great. I loved the old vintage video games. The business/bar not so good. It was very crowded when me and my 4 friends went. There was only one barmaid. We decided to make it easy and look at the menu on line and go order all at once. I stood in line a good 20 min to be told the menu online is not correct. After a shower discussion we were told she did not have ingredients to make a margarita or any mixed drink that was not a soda mixer. Plus there was no water either.
I can't say I've ever had such an awful experience at an establishment. None of the games work. After being charged nearly thirty dollars for game play; I shortly discovered the trash pile I was within. As if the disappointment of my last free Friday night for awhile, ruined, wasn't enough, the bartender sends daggers my way with cross words and awful looks. Don't waste your time here. This place is a trash bag short of a landfill.
Honestly not my favorite barcade experience. While the place was fun and has a good vibe, their selection was limited. When I went all the games with accessory controllers, ie steering wheel, gun etc were down. It is cool that they have emulators that'll allow you to select from a menu of games. Controls for some were wonky. They also have several consoles to play on. There was no cover and the games didn't require tokens so not too upset. I liked them better than the place down the road. Didn't han
Best arcade in the city! Plenty of games, really good food options, and there's always a variety of great music playing. If you are a gamer or just a novice player this spot is for you.
Amazing experience . Nice host - cool bartender. Beautiful vibe. Loved how I could play them all with one wrist band. And loved that they had a hideaway patio. Oh and all the cool little nic nacs. And Pac-Man and old computer game. Like yesssss My type of vibe! I will most def be back and tell all my friends like I'm a full time promoter lol! 10/10 oh and I'm not a person who likes mixed drinks so at first I thought it was a little watery or tart.. but I was wrong. That drink def hit by the time we settled
Dolly & I were looking for semi healthy non greasy type food. We came across Sea Cave which had a very interesting menu. In my opinion? it's giving Mexican Caribbean cuisine and not ?American? which is how it's listed on ubereats. They had sweet plantains, white rice w/ black beans, jerk chicken, beef Pattie?s, etc. I ordered the jerk chicken rice bowl. SLAPPED. It was also enough food that lasted me later that day for a small snack. My bff had the beef patties which were sooooooo delicious that she believe
I went in expecting a simple arcade and was astounded at the customer service the exceptional selection of drinks games and food. Cat was amazing and so personable and made me feel like family 10/10 would recommend
$5 all day play on Arcade games, food, drinks, and good vibes. LGBTQ+ friendly. Great place to hang!
Very fun arcade bar! Great teriyaki tofu bites, kind bartender, fun video games including an inner tube river floating game and a hi-def Mortal Kombat game. Would rec! Come here!
$5 cover charge and you can play all the games available within the shop. A lot of shooty old style, pac man or fight type games, and I do mean a lot, probably 90% of the machines are those. Fun if you come with friends. We did see many children there accompanied by their adults. Unfortunately while we were there many of the fun looking games (using wheel or blaster) were broken/out of service. Otherwise it was a good time.
I am not personally interested in video games but my boyfriend is and it was in my old neighborhood so we thought we would check it out. The staff was so nice and I wish I remembered yalls names lol I only remember Phillip and Phylis?s (bar cats) so shoutout to them. Will be back!!!
One of the best spots in the city. 11/10 highly recommend
Great little dive bar with a bunch of arcade games. They also have a couple early 2000 pcs where you can play classics like Rollercoaster tycoon and doom. They have several tvs with game cube and dream cast. The inside isn't too big but they have a huge patio with multiple tables and benches. The staff was so helpful when it came to the games and the bartenders made delicious drinks! They also have some food avaliable. My friends and I just wanted to come in and check it out gut ended up staying hours be
Took my daughters this weekend and they loved it. Cool vibe, good bites to eat and all the games you can imagine.
There's no better arcade in the city than Sea Cave. All you can play, plus the full bar and food menu is great.
This bar is really unique and cool. One side of the bar is a normal bar and then the rest of it is a vintage video game cave. If you like vintage video games and retropie and game emulators then this will be your kind of place. The owner is a really cool guy and he is a vintage game Enthusiast and really cool guy to talk to and I highly recommend this place.
This place has surprisingly excellent food. The fried tofu is like magic. The sliders are great (my picky AF kids like them). The grilled pineapple is delicious. Everything I've ever eaten there is well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Games and bar are great too obviously. The staff are super sweet to my kids. It's just awesome all around!
Love this place, it brings the big kid out of me! Great vibes, Great drinks and throwback games
I really love to support local places but this place left alot to be desired. Half the games didn't work, the food menu was .. an odd selection, and the drinks were ?okay? to say the least. $8 for unlimited play seems like a deal to begin with but other arcades in the city are actually cheaper ( my friends and I have been to a couple arcades in Nola. As a group we go through about $15-$20 worth of tokens each time we go out. So it ends up being $5 each- while that's not unlimited, we are usually all playe
There are many games and the food is good and at a fair price. The yucas were pretty good!
Great bar food, fun set up for classic gaming including stand up arcade cabinets and classic console/CRT TV stations. Friendly staff! Reasonable prices! Thanks for being awesome.
Good bar food. Happy hour. Video games. WTH else you need???? 5 stars all day!!
My husband and I just rewatched stranger things for the hundredth time and we were craving a visit to a retro arcade. Sea Cave did not disappoint, we played games on authentic machines that we haven't played in years and the fact that you can play all day for the low price of $5 is unbeatable. There's not as large a selection as bigger arcades like D&B but that wasn't our mission anyway. We just wanted a retro experience. The owner of Sea Cave was incredibly nice and helpful and eager to assist with any que
This place is a vibe. Dimly lit, always a good movie on at the bar. Very solid drink and food specials nightly. Love the sliders. Enjoyed playing nostalgic arcade games from the 70s/80s.
It was definitely not worth $8.50. I'd say about half of the games were not playable or broken in some way. Many classic games that I expected to see weren't there like Pac-Man and Galaga. Customer service was not particularly friendly or helpful. My friends and I ended up just sitting down and chatting because we very quickly ran out of games to play. I wouldn't recommend it.
Great time on. Monday with $5 unlimited play. They have some fun emulator cabinets. Sliders were fantastic. My husband wasn't hungry, took one bite of my food, and then he had to go get his own.
Come for the arcade and family fun, stay for the veg food-fried tofu and fried plantains are amazing. Freshest fry oil in the city.
I've been a few times and going has always been a great experience and there's always a nice vibe, with a good selection of cabinets. The issue comes with trying to rent them for an event. All over their website they claim to be available for private and semi-private rentals, so I knew Seacave would be a perfect venue for my party. I started attempting to reach out during February through their party inquiry form on their website. I didn't hear anything all month but it WAS mardi gras so I assumed maybe the
This place is an absolute gem in New Orleans. I'll be back and I'll always recommend it. Fun, friendly and affordable. Went there for a specific game and they had 10k to choose from! Owner was kind and professional as well! Good job y'all!
The sliders and corn goat cheese salad were bomb. I really enjoyed my time and there's an amazing selection of games. There was a rad DJ there later in the evening and really enjoyed the vibe, the people, and the food! Will definitely be back.
So I found out about this place a few months ago, and I've been coming regularly since! Good drinks (or at least drink, singular, since I usually get the same thing over and over XD), friendly workers who are awesome, and video games! Lots of games! Classic games, newer games, and everything in between! Who knows, you might even find a game you'd never heard of before that snakes its way into your heart! If there's any kind of game you like, you'll probably find it here! The whole place is just one big expe
Love it! Of all local places Sea Cave gives the most nostalgic vibe. It's a 5 dollar entree fee and then you can play arcade games until you don't feel like it, or it closes. The amount of retro systems that are included through emulation is mind blowing.
Every city needs an arcade, and now that New Orleans has got one, it's awesome. Super chill vibes. All the bartenders and the staff are friendly, including the owner. All the games are emulated, so as long as your not a purist it's good fun.
I was planning on giving this place five stars before I went, but I decided to check it first before giving this review. Thankfully this place is awesome and the staff is super nice, so I can still give it five stars!
Games on games on games, of the arcade variety and more as well as a bar with TVs if that's more your forte. Definitely worth a go.
Great spot to chill and make new friends. Very accommodating. Great selection of games (including all kinds of Neo Geo games, all Street Fighters and plenty of other stuff). They opened recently & I've already been here twice. It's donation-based since the arcades don't take quarters.
The reason for the 3 stars: The good: The place is nice if you are really into nostalgia arcade gaming. For 5$ you'll get tones of options... But don't come to socialize with more then one person. Cute place for a date for sure and it is also BYOB! Bad: There is not really a place to really sit and talk. They don't offer cooked food (snacks out of bags or from fridge) We came in a group of 5 and we barely spoken the entire night. Conclusion: Come on a date. Otherwise play at home or go to a bigger bar.
Chill vibes and the yuca fries were yummy! A little misleading on how many games they have, they really have that many but it is an emulator, not the real game, so they don't always have the same options as the real game and glitched a few times. Ok to bring kids too!
So many emulators! What a blast. Food is great, too.
Hasn't opened yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be great so I gave it 5 stars. Been waiting for a real life fun arcade...this may be the closest thing is recent years. Can't wait! Update: I checked out their pre-opening street fighter 2 turbo competition. Saw some old friends and made some new ones. I was knocked out in the first round, but for $5 to enter and all the video games I could play for the rest of the night...it was an awesome time for sure. I will definitely going back for more. I hope t
This place is awesome. Great food, a tight community, and all the games you could ask for. I wasn't sure about emulator cabs at first, and once foolishly knocked the cave for them, but that was just me being dumb. Seacave is awesome
Everything nostalgic for the 80s babies. ??All the games you know and love from your childhood, frequently playing VHS classics on the projector, good selection of snacks at the 'bar'. $5 for all-you-can-play is an amazing value. Keep up with their social media...frequent gaming tournaments and live hip hop shows.
Went with my partner and some friends and had a great time. Food is delicious and fairly priced, beer is cheap and there's more than enough retro games to satisfy anyone.
Awesome dude, awesome arcade. Runs on donations, with different prices for different amounts of time that you can hang out and mess around. Somehow not really a gentry? Just a dude with some cool cabinets and good interior design taste. Also, this is my opinion, dont eat him alive for what i said, you wanna be petty talk to me
it's exactly what i didn't realize i was expecting. cuz, how do you make it work? equal parts bar and arcade is the trick, good tv, good smelling food that left people sounding happy with what they had and the focus really is on the relaxed atmosphere... it's an intimate space for a dead medium, so drink up, perfect new Orleans vibe
Sea cave is a great lil hidden gem. Their food is delicious! Friendly atmosphere. The bartender Nikki, with the green hair, is my favorite bartender in the city. She's the sweetest.
Sea cave is a glittering gem, a beacon of light, a haven for the nostalgic, the kind, and the nerdy. A perfect bar to watch the Pelicans destroy the Suns. A perfect arcade to forget the woes of the world and battle enemies against whom you actually stand a chance. A bastion of camaraderie and blue lights and fish nets and joy. Thank you Sea Cave.
Phenomenal place to go and relive games of yesteryear. Courteous staff and very friendly bartender who went out of his way to help us last weekend. Y?all are great!
Excellent place for food, drinks and gamer fun. Highly recommend.
Didn't have a ton of time to get to spend here because we had to be at an event but I loved it while we were there. So many cool retro games. And I will definitely be back to stay much longer next time I visit
Sea Cave is a seriously cool, throwback arcade experience. Donation based, you simply place 5 bucks in the cash box, then proceed to play at the arcade cabinet of your choice. They also have consoles like the Sega Dreamcast, Atari 2600 and PlayStation 2 that you can play. From time to time they host fighting game tournaments too. I'd definitely visit Sea Cave again.
Super fun barcade in the marigny. The bar food had some great vegetarian options. The staff was amazing ??. And the arcade games were so entertaining! Time flew - it was midnight before we even realized.
The Sea Cave keeps adding new cabinets, games, and does a great job curating the games in their cabinets. They have independent and local games. Classic console games from the NES, SNES, Sega, Dreamcast, PS1 err. Fighting game tournaments every week. They have a light gun cabinet, but it was broken last time I was there. The only genre they're missing is DDR.
We had such a fantastic time at this arcade. When they say that they have thousands of games, that is no exaggeration. We played old school street fighter while listening to trance and synth music, then shifted to playing multiplayer arcade games like AVP. The owner was cool, knowledgeable and will even play you himself. For $5 you can literally play all day. There is a bar across the street if you need adult beverages. The setup simply can't be beat, you'll have a hard time finding a game they don't have
Very cool place! Tons of fun!
Quirky little place that is a cross between a hole in the wall bar and video game arcade. The only downside is its location. Take an Uber or get dropped off so you still have a car when it's time to leave.
Great selection of arcade games, friendly and helpful staff, and the food/drinks (especially the tacos) are low-key delicious. What a fun spot!
#1 thing at this arcade is not your Joust score (it is mine), but it is their food!! Come here and get the best Caribbean fusion this side of the Mississippi, stay and play some arcades.
One of the coolest, unique places in New Orleans. Almost any arcade game you could want to play on actual arcade cabinets. The owner is cool and genuinely passionate about his collection
What an awesome place! Love it here! Food is great and fun games! Will definitely return!
A tad disappointed to be fair. Friendly place and team, but little seemed to actually work. Realise some of the arcade games are super old, but still, I paid money to use them, well try to
$5 for hundreds of different games. Really cool music (vapor/synthwave and 90s hip hop) and atmosphere. Easily the best retro arcade experience in NOLA.
I've known them for years. Full hospitality, wide variety of games, and will repair on the spot if they have to.
Fun local bar....had a great time. Staff was awesome & friendly!! Stop in soon!! OH--they have video games too!! LOL.
Great place to chill out and play some good cabinet arcade. Always a good price and atmosphere. Bring the friends and get that NBA jams tournament going!
This place is absolutely awesome. Great games, they have almost any game you can think of. I hosted my bday here!
Wild times after #chewbaccausparade
It's unfair how great this place is and I don't live next door. Seriously, good games, good prices for drinks, good workers, and good god almighty the food is delicious
This place is neither a cave, nor near the sea. It is an awesome arcade bar though with fair prices. You can pay one price to play all night.
Best arcade in new orleans
The food and staff were so good. Cool games and only $5 to play them all.
Love this place. Played Dreamcast and Neo Geo until I was blue in the face. Good food here, too ????
Loads of fun, especially on days that aren't too busy tons of games
Amazing place you must go to if you ever was a gamer. It brought back a lot of childhood memories. Had a great time and definitely will go back... often. :^)
Delicious food, great drinks, and awesome fun with the games. Great vibe and always a good time!
One of my favorite spots in the city. Donate a few dollars and play all the games you want. Multicade systems with 1000s of games. 5 1/2 gold stars.
Small but cozy joint, would easily recommend if you like the arcade experience or playing console games with friends or even maybe strangers.
I absolutely love this place. Takes me back to my childhood. Great game selection. Best 5 dollars I spend
Super dope arcade with great gaming options that are easy on the wallet. Nice drink and food options too!
The food is soooo?i good. All the bartenders are great but renee is the best!!!@! Come hang on her shift. You won't be disappointed!
Everyone was smoking weed. Half the arcade machines were broken or off. Our food came burnt.
Had a blast! Good drink. Greasy food. Fun Throwback games.
Simply a amazing place, was my first time going to the this place, wonderful staff great atmosphere, decor was cool and food was stellar!
This place is just loads of fun and not over the top expensive. I super recommend.
This place is great. Don't sleep on the food!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
