I do apologize for the low star rating I am not a comicon nerd no offense to anyone. Other than your a little outrageous on price to me. It might not be to anyone else I did take pictures of the Superman and Batman characters. I just feel we got our chain pulled for over 100 comics you only wanted like 10 and wanted only 40 bucks to pay us for the ones that you picked were selling online for over 800 dollars. I took the pictures of these characters for my son who is 6 years old, he absolutely loves these ch
Love this place! Have been going to them while they were still in their East Town Mall location. I go there for board games but they also have comics, tabletop gaming stuff, and even have some tableop gaming in the back. Check em out! Definitely best selection for board games, hands down
Sci-fi cities like one of the coolest places to go to they got so much Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 2000 I have the coolest things ever to collect has the Sci-Fi writer here Doom King I recommend this place the best place to hang out and and collect stuff
Great shop. We drove by a couple times thinking it was a small comic book shop. It's a huge gaming place! So many board games, table top rpgs, dice, miniatures AND comics. It's really a big city gaming place in a tiny town.
The game selection here is insane. Great prices. I also prefer to buy MTG from them. They almost always have the best prices and sets in stock. Staff is friendly as well.
Use to go to the East Town mall location. Wanted to check out the new store and wow! Just as cool, clean and well designed as the first! Lots of room in the back for tabletoppers and tcg players. They were running discounts on their 40k products, which is rare! Hopefully one day ill have the time to come here regularly and hop back into 40k one day
An excellent boardgame store, good prices and plenty of room for gamers!
Great local comic book store. Has everything I need most of the time. Great owners and employees. They make accommodations whenever possible. They dont even know that I'm a local business owner and I send tons of people their way. But they still treat me like I'm a valuable customer. Good to see great small businesses around these days. Would recommend to anyone.
One of the best selections of board game and TTRPGs available in Knoxville.
Love the layout of the store and Manu display items like the Beholder. We'll stocked, and easy to browse.
Great deals of board games, ROGs, and Warhammer. They have a surprisingly large selection, including some very niche and difficult to find products, except mini paints and supplies. They also have a very large play area with tables set up and available. There were flyers and notices left all around for upcoming events and groups, so this would be a great place to find games and play groups.
Lots of mini figures. Enjoyed myself spent 150 on figures and dice. Very reasonable. Helpful staff
I am not a gamer or into comic books but I am married to that person. This place is very comfortable and low stress which is nice. There is a bathroom as well as gaming areas, both tabletop and terrain areas, and even snacks for sale. A huge selection of comics, games, miniatures and supplies. Spouse was very pleased and said the prices are great. There is a comfy couch for we non-gamer spouses to hang out on which was refreshing. Kid friendly too. Please support this local gaming shop!
This shop has a great selection of comics, board games, and TTRPG books and minis. I love that they have such a wide selection of Traveller materials, although I wish they had more sets of D6 dice.
Been a customer for years. Always a fun visit. Great customer service.
Great Game Store!! Everything is nicely placed and organized on the shelves. Highly recommended for your tabletop gaming needs.
They have a nice selection of Reeper mini's. Great selection of board game as well.
Very friendly staff and they stock the current books from most publishers. They have some back issues and supplies as well. The owner is a super nice guy. It's a nice local shop.
Place is cool, and one of the only places I know of locally that carries Star Wars legion. Their Warhammer selection is generally pretty hit or miss, but that's just common with anyone carrying GW products. Prices are generally pretty fair.
We love this place. My husband and I go here to look for comics and graphic novels. Our four-year-old is developing a love of superheroes, so she loves going here. Great for families.
Much bigger then it looks from the street. Very clean. Large selection of comics and gaming figures. Polite staff, good place to explore the comic and gaming world. I bought a few older comics just for a fun read. I'm not sure about adequate parking on gaming nights. You should call to inquire. I do historical gaming, but local gamers in this genre not very forthcoming. Excellent shop though, drop in and check it out.
Courteous staff, plenty of inventory, largest Reaper Miniatures selection I've ever seen outside of the Reaper headquarters in Denton TX.
Great place to find comic books and figurines.
The store is huge and has a very nice selection of game books, comics, board games, and miniatures. There are a lot of boxes in the open but they aren't really a nuisance as they are easy to walk around. While I was there NONE of the staff wore masks. I can understand not enforcing masks but other gaming stores in the area have their staff wearing masks. I was in the store for about 45 minutes and one of the staff members was rather kind and helpful but the rest were abrupt and generally not that helpful.
Met here for two years for D&D, we moved our game to a private home. They shop was always neat, fully stocked for whatever monster or encounter we might have, both to borrow or purchase. Loved playing here. So many comics and figures and games!
Great shop with loads to offer board games, Warhammer, and DnD stuff. Great prices and a phenomenal stock of current models and items.
The staff are nice, but the owner is a mean spirited, miserly scalper. My fiance and I spent thousands of dollars at this store last year and were regular customers, but we went to buy Lorcana cards only to be told that the store was now selling them at around a 66 percent markup, for the "privilege" of buying a game that we only wanted to play and not re sell. The starter decks became 25 dollars with booster packs around 80. We always bought from this store because we wanted to support local businesses and
The service here is always beyond compare. Every single staff member takes time out of their day to be kind and helpful. I've never left the store without finding a few things I didn't know I needed, they have a great selection and the price is great so I don't feel guilty for the impulse purchase. Easily my favorite game store.
Wonderful selection of products! There was Funko Pops, board games, card games, comic books, graphic novels, and all sorts of roleplay game supplies, such as figures and guidebooks, and a whole room to play games like Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer. I asked the employee behind the desk about a figurine I was looking for, and he was very helpful, considering how many different ones they have, he told me immediately they didn't have it in stock, but what company I could order it from and even got me the ite
It's a pretty good place for D&D and other ttrpg supplies. Prices are affordable & comparable to Amazon (sometimes actually cheaper than Amazon), and the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it's kind of a cell phone/internet dead zone. Accessing information online (e.g., looking up spells during a session) is often difficult and sometimes impossible.
I love the new store. Location is great and parking was better than I had expected. If you love all things nerdy then you have to check this place out. If you are a table top gamer then this is the place for you. They have tones of tables and room to game. Loads of people can play at once and there is also ample room to watch or sit down and make a list. This place checks all the boxes for what you want out of a place to play. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are also more than willing to
I love it there. A really comfortable place to get games, comics, and more. A polite and helpful staff.
More of a games shop, than a comics shop. A small selection of back-issues, with a couple gems hidden amongst the usual finds. Overall...worth the trip to visit.
Possibly the largest selection of new games in East TN. Lots of TTRPGs from the big publishers though if you're looking for Indie games they don't really carry those.
Cool place to visit. Nice & friendly staff plus some hard to find comics all at a great price.
A wonderful shop. They have a great selection of boardgames, especially expansions. I was happy to see the hard to find expansions for a few games that I already have in my collection. They also have great dnd supplies, a game area, tabletops like Warhammer, figures, and comics. A large and welcoming shop that I suggest you go and see.
I've been here a few times and it's everything I want in a game store. All the negative reviews here center on price (its a business with staff that need to be paid- what do you expect? Below retail price?) and the staff (I have never walked into a game store expecting crazy extravert sales people). Great store and I will shop here over online when I can
The guy working at 9-10pm last night (Saturday April 15th) was super nice and helpful when my friend locked her keys in her car. He told me where the best place for cell reception in the store was, gave me the address when I was on the phone with the locksmith dispatch thing, he even came by the front window of the store and looked out just to check on us and make sure everything was ok when the pop-a-lock man finally showed up to help us out at the dark empty parking lot. So all in all, great customer serv
Not quite what we expected, but in a good way! We were from out of town, we thought this might be a video game store. My husband loves looking around at different gaming stores when we visit new places. We were surprised to see not a single video game in sight. However we were pleasantly surprised by how many different card and board games were available at the store. We also loved the selection of DND items.
If you want a boardgame and can't find it. I'd look here. Biggest selection I can find in the area with great prices. Also a ton of trrpg, comics and collectible stuff. If you're into any sort of that stuff be sure to check it out.
Love the store been going there for 18 months now. Game there twice a week. A great selection, clean and orderly. Lots of space for games. They have one huge issue now. They don't have support for WiFi. Makes it difficult to support games needing wifi access. As much business as gaming brings you would think they would support us with Wifi
Sci-fi city is one of the best stores ever I will shop there a thousand times over I love that place they had almost everything they had cool board games collectible models awesome comic books that cuz I just got the combo Godzilla versus Kong the Justice League and I'm so excited I can't wait to one of these days when my com books become popular I hope I see them in Syfy City one day this place deserves a thousand stars being the best place ever and then plus they have the coolest whole collection of dunge
Fantastic selection of board games, Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, and more. The staff has always been helpful. They also carry the Reaper line of paints and minis (I haven't found another store in town that does). The boys love getting to go and pick out a new mini to paint. They also have a large game area to bring your games and play with others. Update: after almost a year of visiting I still enjoy coming here. They have rearranged a little and expanded their mini-fig games (GW, X-wing, Battle t
This place it WAY bigger than it looks from the outside. Comics, board games, miniatures, and more. Tons of space to battle your WARHAMMER 40K armies or play Pok?mon and MAGIC the gathering. They also hold occasional tournaments. It's definitely worth checking out.
Sci-Fi city is right near my home and so glad they didn't close up when East Towne Mall did. They have comics, board games, and Pop Figures as well as a huge room to play games in store! The staff is friendly and they have snacks you can also buy in store as well. Highly recommended place to not just visit but hang out as well!
Great collection of board games, table top rpg stuff, and comics. Staff are always helpful and recommend great new things to try. Impossible to leave without buying a new set of dice every time.
Recently found this store because my wife ordered a game online and we saw that it came from this store. I had never seen it in my search for boardgames in the Knoxville area. Maybe it was a good idea that I hadn't found it before because WOW do they have a great selection and on many things, really great prices! We will definitely be back!
The staff is always friendly and there is a ton of stuff here. Great selection of games! They can order stuff for you as well which is nice. They host lots of game events which are open to the public. Definitely my favorite local gaming store.
An absolutely fantastic hobby store. Super clean, well stocked, well laid out, and very welcoming. We drove over two hours to this store to pick up a hard to find product and had an all-star experience from beginning to end. I can't say enough good things about them.
Amazing place! Can't say enough good about this shop. Phenomenal staff that is friendly and super knowledgeable that will take the time to actually explain things to you. Prices can not be beat anywhere nearby and you will have a hard time finding lower prices on the net on most items. HUGE selection! Comics, games, miniatures, statues, massive gaming area, you name it they got it! If they don't have what you are looking for they will probably see if they can get it for you too. It might be a little bit out
I haven't been to the new location yet, but this has always been a must-go place when I go to Knoxville! I love looking at all the different games, shirts, and little knick knacks they have up for offer. Their prices are fair, and I've gotten into D&D since I first walked in to this store! Very fun to visit if you're a nerd!
This store has so much to offer. Newest comic selection and neatly organized. A HUGE board game selection. Anything you could want to play is here. Tons of minature games and supplies. A huge game area for the community. Not to mention the largest selection of RPG books I've ever seen. Love this place.
Employee at checkout always busy stocking new inventory, doesn't greet nor approach/ask if you need anything/help. A friendly hello/greeting would be nice. New comics ( wed- new comic day ) very limited, supply, books out of stock within hours. Tons of games on shelves and huge inventory of gaming accessories w/ designated gaming area for patrons. Good selection of comic book supplies ie: mylars, boards, boxes. Store has potential to be best in Knoxville if new comic book inventory and customer servic
I love the new place across from the Fountain City Park! The absolute biggest selection of games and miniatures I have found anywhere in East Tennessee. And their staff is knowledgable about them all! They also have plenty of table space to play those games if you want. The kicker though is I have managed to pick up several board games (Twilight Imperium being the big one) that are actually cheaper than even Amazon prices. If there was ever a local game store to support, this is it.
A LOT of boardgames to chose from in an abundance not so many comics, and a slightly anemic selection of TTRPG books but over all not a bad place! Will definitely return at some point. Only problem I have is just about anything I could pick up my boyfriend already has. ?? Still, I'm definitely going to be back for myself.
Great Selection but Cold reception When we travel, my wife and I love to visit and support local gaming stores. We visited Sci-Fi City this past week and, while the store has an impressive collection, we are sad to say: we have never been treated so poorly at a gaming store EVER. We were not greeted. We were ignored as we walk around. I asked about a few products I was looking for, and were met with a cold, "no". Generally, I find owners and people who work at these stores as cheerful, talkative and helpful
Quite a bit bigger than the game stores we have back home. They had an awesome selection! Was very impressed. I was able to find my first ever set of dice so I picked them up for 6 bucks!
The layout was easy to find everything I needed, large selection on comics, board and card games, and miniature figures for DnD. The atmosphere was really relaxed and inviting for anyone new to the scene. The staff was helpful in their information on sales and directions in finding the products I was after.
Huge selection of board games and minis!! I love this store so much! They also run some awesome sales
The staff are genuine dudes, not salesmen; they'll give you the best recommendations they can without thinly veiled salesmanship. Good comic selection, board game selection, and miniature selection; trading card game selection is limited to only a few games such as Magic: The Gathering, but this is a boardgame and comic store, not a card shop. They will special order things from their distros for you if they don't have them in stock; there's a community of wargamers that meets here and it's a good place to
By far the best game store in Knoxville in terms of quantity, and variety! Massive amounts of the best tabletop games! However, not a large amount in the Trading Card/ Living Card games. Massive amount of miniatures from DND, wizkids, bones, etc. Great selection of comics. Honestly, the only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because some of the staff act like they have never spoken to another human being in their life. Don't get me wrong, they are helpful, but super socially awkward. It basically seems
Great selection of collectables, as well as old and new comics! Lots of table top gaming systems for sale, and a wall full of figurines. We enjoy visiting every time we come to Knoxville. Just bought Catana for our 12 yr old son, more figs for our gaming collection, and I have started a new graphic novel!
Great selection and excellent service. They have a massive selection of games from boardgames to RPG to tabletop.
One of the largest gaming stores I've ever been to. Definitely worth another trip.
A large selection of gaming and games in the store, and what appears to be every English language title in publication on the racks, though I think some of the more independent titles are too niche to have gained an audience in Ktown. The major houses are well represented and a lot of the smaller title lines are present. I didn't ask if they could order anything special for me.
A large, well-stocked game and comic store. Store has a wide variety of product in miniatures, board games, RPGs, and comics. Staff is friendly and knoledgeable. Store also has plenty of play space. Will definitely shop here again.
This place is huge! I traveled to multiple comic shops in Knoxville and this place is the best. They have a place where they do a youtube podcast on comics, comics, statues, board games, and events. I absolutely loved my time here. If I lived closer I would definitely make this my main comic shop. It is worth the drive if you're in Knoxville
They've got a really great selection of games, as well as public playing tables and cheap snacks. I really appreciate how many games they have, the cleanliness of the store, and convenient location. I've not found a better game store anywhere in the area.
It may not be the large scale shop back in East Towne, but this place has all the games and cards anyone could want. Great Employies, game nights held almost everyday, and the DnD community there is outstanding for new and vets of the table tops.
Played a nice session of DnD 5e there. Used to more private sessions, but people generally kept to themselves and were respectful. Liked the atmosphere. Lots and lots of good stock, well priced merch and friendly staff. Probably gonna go back and pick up a dicebag!
They are usually pretty good, but don't pre order magic cards there. When I first called the guy on the phone said he couldn't give me a price on the pre-order but what ever savings they got would be passed on to me. When the day of the pre order came the guy at the counter wanted more than they were selling on tcgplayer. Looked up the market value. He told me not to buy them, but literally I was getting them for me on my birthday. 70 more a box than the on line pre order price.
Cool comice book store and they have a big area to play things such as d&d and warhammer
I love Sci-Fi City, especially since it is bow in this location. They have a great staff, and if you live RPGs like DnD, Star Wars, WarHammer, it's a great place to get supplies. There is a wonderful selection of dice bags and dice, too. Particularly, too, they have a phenomenal board game collection, and many games are often reduced. The comic book selection is also nice, and I occassionally pick up Superman, Wonder Woman, and Squirrel Girl comics. They also have a decent collection of introductory DC kids
Great place for games and comics (though the back issue collection is only good, not great). Great community for games too. Wonderful neighborhood store.
Huge and extremely large variety of inventory. Board games, TCG cards, and we even found a very nice set of Dominoes for a very good price. Cheaper than competitors, friendly staff.
Picked up a table top game. They have so many to choose from! First time in and I was impressed with everything. The guy that helped us was attentive and the store was very clean and organized.
This is an exceptional shop for gaming supplies. They stock the current comics pretty well, and the back-issue bins are sorta hit-or-miss. It's clean and well-kept. Love the new location!
Great place for tabletop stuff, boardgames DND, Warhammer, that star wars tabletop game. They have a huge table and hundreds of Minifigures. There's board games and comic books. No MTG singles or boxes which is fine. Go support local business
Out of towners - We ended up here by accident on Free Comic Book Day while trying to find something to do during a rainstorm. Nice large store, lots of selections. They had an awesome sale running where just about all the games were 20% off the lowest price, which put them fairly competitive with online stores' pricing. Walked out with Terraforming Mars and Scythe for just over $100, and supported local business instead of the big guys -- sweet! Seems like a nice local hangout, there are gaming tables in th
Easily my favorite game store to frequent. Just the selection of products alone is impressive, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff simply outshines every other gaming and/or comic I've ever been in. I will miss this place dearly when I move in just a couple short weeks.
Store itself is very nice, especially after some recent water damages occurred. The 1 star is for the customer service which was lacking. Sad, considering that the store had been open for 30 minutes and I was the only customer inside. The shop keep looked up from the comic he was reading long enough to head nod in my general area. Fortunately I knew what I wanted, because the help was nonexistent.
For us geeks, this store is a good place to shop. Seems to be well stocked, and they have a fairly decent sized gaming area.
Me and my friends used to frequent the store in order to play games of Warhammer 40k. However every time we would show up there and we would pull out our stuff and we would play it always seemed as though the staff did not want us there at all even though they had tables for us to play on. It's not as though we never spend money there either I would generally try to support the store and would purchase a box of minis when ever I could so as not to just show up there use their tables and never once pay the
Sci-fi city is a gem of a game store that isn't afraid to support gamers of all types! Many times a store advertises to be a "game store" but is nothing but a Magic: the gathering haven. Yes I know it sells but gamers of all breeds, enjoy games of all kinds, and Sci-fi city has it in spades! Dozens of shelves of board games from GMT, Fantasy Flight, AEG, CMoN, I could go on here. Sales, old games, new games, and they even cater to miniatures gamers with a half dozen tables and enough terrain to make a Games
I'm not really a comic book guy, but I did have some when I was a kid and was into D&D for a year or two in the early 80s. I thought it would be interesting to take my 11 year oldson in to check the place out. They had a moderate amount of comics and unigue board games, and some real swords in a display case, as well as some high priced hand painted star wars and superhero figurines on display, so overall it seemed like a cool place to go if you're into that sort of stuff.
I've been coming here since before they moved to this location. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have such a huge collection of games, comics, etc that if you can't find something interesting it's your own fault. They can typically order whatever you need if you can't find it
Poor Show: I travel a lot and I like to pick a few books here and there when I can. Sometimes I will spend quite a lot on books. This place had a bunch of back issues I was looking for there but I had a few questions and wanted to ask for something I was looking into... I was there for 30 minutes looking and the only people I saw were people playing games... no one who actually works there ever acknowledged I was there. 3 people walked through the door and still no one came up I eventually walked to the bac
Friendly staff, super cool shop. Way bigger than it looks from the outside, great prices too.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
