I am the outreach and alumni coordinator for Waterside Recovery Center. I planned my first alumni event at Ryan?s in Hanover! We had 40 people come! It was honestly an amazing time! The service was amazing, the food was great, and everyone had a BLAST! I will absolutely be planning more events with them again! The manger Linda was so amazing! I booked the wrong date and days before the event Linda made it possible to get the date and time I needed! I am so grateful for the team of people that worked my even

Good place for family and parties. They have arcade games, ax throwing, and bowling. We ate in the restaurant that was there and the brirra tacos were really good. The watermelon martini was pretty good for an arcade place and the service was impeccable. Very attentive server and they definitely knew what they were doing. The reason for the one star was that at ax throwing we did see a mouse running around near the chairs which kinda made us regret eating there after. We did tell the staff and they told us

What an amazing family experience ! Started with ace throwing and finished with bowling and arcade . This was the first time at this location and we will absolutely be back. Manager Devonny is very personable and will do absolutely everything she can to make your experience the very best it can be. She had great food and drink recommendations and went above and beyond to make our night the best it could be. Highly recommended.

Bada-bing-bada-bowl! Not to big on arcades, specifically the children, but to call this place a bowlicious bonanza would give it no justice. This place had be BOWLING my eyes out? from laughter. The food did do a number to my BOWLERs (bowling bowels) but it's ok? all in a long bowls work?

My family and I recently had our second family party at Ryan?s. Linda made the planning process very easy and made great suggestions regarding food and games. We were lucky to have the dream team of Linda, Liz and Oliver the day of the party. They provided great service, delicious food and drinks. It was a wonderful party and the family is already looking forward to next year?s event.

We had a teacher event in the VIP room. The room was impressive with tables for dinner, its own bar and 4 private bowling lanes. The service was amazing and so accommodating. We were extremely impressed and will definitely have another event there!

We just had our 2nd company event at Ryan's, they did an amazing job! Linda and her staff made the planning for 45+ people to bowl effortless. Food was delicious. We're already talking about our next event.

Our annual holiday party at Ryan's was a success! This was our second year having it here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a fantastic time. I was particularly impressed with Linda director of sales and events and her AMAZING team. Their patience, attention to detail, and the overall professionalism was impeccable. From start to finish, everything was seamless and enjoyable. Ryan's Hanover truly provides a fun and welcoming atmosphere for a

The food is good but other than that the experience is always terrible (and me and my dad go weekly). I have been to multiple Ryan?s and the service at Hanover is non existent. All the teenagers that work there are on their phones or have friends visiting standing at the counter talking to them for an hour or more on more than one occasion. Usually noone is available to help when needed. The last visit yesterday the MANAGER IS RUDE and accused my 54 year old father of not turning his cards into the machine

We had a corporate event here for the holidays. The festive atmosphere, delicious food, and axe throwing created a wonderful experience for our staff. Despite the age range (22-70 years old) everyone who attended had a great time. I had the pleasure of booking the event with Linda. She was soooo helpful and I'm glad I went with her recommendations. I also want to give a shout out to Matt for his exceptional assistance. He was our party attendant. His helpfulness and positive attitude contributed significa

We Love this Spot. This is wear we go on the rainy days when we're in the Cape. The arcade area is so much fun and the staff is really nice. I love that they're kind to All of the kiddos who need more time to pick prizes! Since it's inside the Mall, we always do some shopping too.

To busy no help from staff kids unsupervised spent a lot of money for a birthday party there. 0 out of 10. Bowling ball not for kids under 12. Use a locally bowling alley cheaper and it will support a local business.

As someone who has been to ryans plenty of times, it is always a pleasure to be back. My neighbors and I always enjoy bowling and playing the arcade because of the low prices, variety of arcade games and the non-rigged (shoutout micheal) claw machines. The staff (shoutout micheal) and management (shoutout shauna) are nothing short of welcoming and friendly. We came in today to bowl and the staff got us all set up very quickly. We decided to play some arcade games after and the staff (esp micheal) were prett

My company just had its second annual holiday party at Ryan's Hanover. Each time, Linda and the staff made it very easy for us in planning the event for 70+ people. The food was excellent, the staff was attentive and most importantly, everyone had a great time. The first year was such a success that we added additional time because everyone wanted to stick around. Ryan's is a great, fun option for your corporate events!

This Ryan's is really cool and my family took us there. The bowling and restaurant went well However when we went and played at the arcade it only gave us two cards of $5 when we spent $20 for 2 cards of $10. It was definitely a ripoff and I hope they would look into that.

We hosted my company holiday party at Ryans Hanover for the 2nd year in a row this past week. The private space includes 4 bowling lanes, a private bar and lots of space and seating. Our group was over 50 people and we had tons of space. This year, our group did bowling and arcade games - it was so refreshing to see my adult co-workers having a blast in the arcade like they were little again. Linda, the event coordinator is great as well as all the other waitstaff. We had the same group waiting on us this y

Hello, Our company just had our second holiday party at Ryan's too! (noticed the most recent comment) We had our own private room, bartender, bowling lanes, and participated in the laser tag and axe throwing! The team loved it so much! Big props to the staff being so accommodating and friendly!

Ryan?s was the perfect venue for my son?s 30th Surprise Party last Saturday night! The private room with 4 bowling lanes easily accommodated our 50 adult guests and 8 young children. The food was delicious, and the waitstaff was professional, attentive, and ready to help with everything possible to make our party the success that it was! Thank you, Ryan?s, for a fantastic night that none of us will ever forget!

We came here for the first time a few days ago for a company outing and we were impressed! The facility was large, beautiful, and clean. The employees were all kind, helpful, and attentive. Laser tag was our favorite. Axe throwing is good for those who don't suck at it ??... And bowling looked great too but we unfortunately had to leave a little early and did not get a chance to bowl but everyone else seemed to have a great time. We would definitely come back again on our own and we are already planning a d

Went for a work party on December 7th 6P-11P a young girl with glasses and dyed hair was so extremely friendly and excellent I'm a manager for retail and she is the type of girl I hope every management would hire! I didn't catch her name she serves some foods/desserts and was extremely friendly and so nice and sweet! She rlly needs either a ride or the managers that see this needs to compliment her! She's amazing 10/10

Although the facility itself is not the best, employee Scott Noble really went the whole nine yards to elevate my experience. My basketball was properly inflated, and all of the machines he wiped were very clean. He made my experience better.

The service here absolutely sucks. The server with the green hair is so rude and makes you feel like you aren't welcome. Bowling?s fine but prob won't be back

Ryan?s is so much fun! We went as a family and then alone on date night! There are so many different things you can do here.

Outstanding, very clean and friendly environment, and my grandchildren had the best time of their life playing the machines. Winning at a few of the games was the best also!

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and large the complex was in Hanover. The food was great and the employees were very attentive.

We had a great time! The server with the green and neon hair was absolutely the best and took excellent care of us!

My entire family had blast for my nephew's birthday. The staff went above and beyond, and The Buffalo wings were The Best!

We hosted my sons birthday party here, for 10 kids, Lazer tag - it was so much fun and didn't break the bank.

I am a nanny & I am there very often. Anywhere from 1-2x a month if not more. My boys love it there. The Bowling Alley is awesome and the boys love the arcade. We have also done lazor tag with their friends. Typically the staff is good and friendly. They have helped us immensely over the last year or so with various things. Today was not the case. The young gentleman who rang us out seemed completely clueless. We were there around noon. I asked him if he could please print up our scores. Mainly because I h

have a big arcade, n bowling lanes, also a nice full bar. also can buy food, and have parties there too

The food is good, kids have fun at the arcade, though it is kind of small. The place is nice and clean and there is plenty of seating. My main issue is with the business model of charging by the hour for bowling. You're either going to have your game shut off in the 9th frame if you have six people or only be able to get through half a second game if you have less people. Makes no sense to charge for a game that has a clear beginning and end by the hour not by the game.

The margherita pizza was great! Salads were pretty good. Portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable. Our drinks were mixed well. Arcade games are expensive and a couple were not working. I could not figure out how to get the 2 hour unlimited play for $20, which seems like a great deal as there were a lot of fun looking games to choose from. The bathroom was nice and clean with great smelling soap. I love that it's right near the new movie theater so I will definitely be back to go bowling s

So fairly priced and amazingly helpful staff! Seanne at redemption was SO helpful and all of the staff was incredibly nice. Such a better deal and way better prize options than Dave & Buster's. As a family of four, we spent under $100 for food and two hours in the arcade and walked away with fantastic prizes. Highly recommend.

We came at separate times for both axe throwing and the arcade. The axe throwing was fun! I think it's worth trying at least once. I was pleasantly surprised with the arcade. My daughter loved the roller coaster simulation. She enjoyed the games and I felt like the claw machines were generous compared to other arcades we've been to. Many people were walking around with stuffies and we were happy to walk away with a mid-size squishmallow. I'm sure we'll come back.

We had a company event here. Clean, food was good, service was great.

Staff were very helpful and nice. Place was clean and the prizes were awesome. The 2 hour unlimited games is my favorite. The axe throwing was super fun as well. Totally worth the drive out!

I'm rating this 2 stars because admittedly this place is a definite attraction for the kids and there's something for everyone however, the service at the arcade prize counter will erase everything that is cool about this place. There were several arcade games that would not work properly and charged the card anyway so we lost several dollars and there was not anyone around on the floor to assist with the issue. When we got to the arcade counter, there was no order or process for serving customers so it w

Really fun place! I had never been to a Ryan's before but I was really impressed with how clean and entertaining it was. While I did not eat any food, it smelled amazing and I would have loved to grab a bit had I not just eaten. The arcade games were fun but the Lazer Tag was even better. The young manager Ryan was so kind and patient with our loud, boisterous group and made sure everyone was safe and informed about the game play. Great customer service. Can't wait to go again!

First i must say, the bowling was awesome! me and my friends had a great time bowling me (eh not so much i'm getting old at this point and had a low score but that's not the point) we all had a great time together at Ryans in hanover! it was easy to get in and the lanes were pretty open at the time (Wednesday at about 7pm) but to the more important part of the night was the management, Micheal and Shauna! great people. Michael was nice to us and made our mood brighten instantly! give Michael a raise. and Sh

Great place. Food was decent. The gameplay was awesome.

My first time coming to this facility was on mother's day. My family consisting of 2 adults and 3 children (5yr-16yrs) decided we would come here to have a family day. We entered and was greeted by the front desk. We asked to play a game of bowling, they asked us if we wanted to pay before or after we played. So I said we could pay before. They said well it really doesn't matter how about you pay after. So confused, I asked why would they ask if we want to pay before. I accept and they changed their mind. T

We brought my wife here for her birthday and although the food was great, the customer service was genuinely awful. The manager Liam is beyond unqualified to be a manager. He was not helpful at all and was actually very disrespectful to my wife and her friends. I will also say the rest of the staff needs a lot more training (they are young but kind) in order for this place to be anywhere decent to go to. Also don't bother booking anything online. It is double the normal price (which is apparently in the fin

The workers here are so horrible. My brother didn't get his bonus that he had been saving up for. The D.C. coin pusher had this 7,000 ticket bonus if you had the full set but the guy working there just added the cards individually and when we asked him about it, he just gave an extra 1,000. The workers also have attitude and they seemed mad when we went to go ask about it. Never coming to this specific place again.

Great date night! We had a wonderful night together, both ax throwing and bowling. The place was a tad on the empty side for a Friday night but this was to our benefit as we didn't have to wait for anything, I just hope for the sake of the business and the employees that it picks up as Hanover Crossing fills up. Will definitely be back

Overall my experience at Ryan?s amusements was pretty good. I wasn't a huge fan of the food. I ordered pizza which was quite delectable but the mozzarella sticks were pretty gross to say the least. The thing that truly made my experience special was the costumer service of the 3 employees at the front, and at the prize counter. Their names were Brandon, Aidan and Rewey. They were very polite young men and treated my party with respect, responsibility and helpfulness. These boys were very outgoing and went o

We had a graduation party in the VIP room. I added the extra hour for the room and a bartender. We did bowling, laser tag and arcade cards for guests. It was a great experience planning the event with Cassandra. The event went very smoothly. All of the staff is very attentive, responsive and accommodating. The food was excellent. We had 50 guests (25 kids of all ages and 25 adults). Everyone had a great time. I highly recommend having an event here.

Absolutely atrocious! The manager is beyond condescending. He belittles people. He has been rude on two seperate occasionsto myself and another time to a friend who hosteda party here. This last time We put our names in for a lane and were told it would be 45 min. So we decided to wait the 45 min and purchased a 2 hour play pass...we were called 20 min later saying our lane was ready..we asked if we could be moved to the bottom of the list since we have so much time left on the play card. The two younger ki

Place is definitely way over priced. Parents be careful with the arcades huge money suck. The axe throwing shows $65 dollars to book online but it's only $40 when you get there. Makes no sense if there's no wait money should be refunded $25. Staff is definitely not experienced with axes and you feel like you're being babysat. Not the best experience!!

It's a good place to have fun with friends or family. A lot of arcade games to play a good spot to have birthday parties organized. The bowling experience is also good. We can also have private lanes. This place has Axe throwing activities too, you can also experience laser tag with your group.

I recently had my daughter birthday party there and for the price it was horrible! We had the VIP room and got treated like we was nothing , they rushed us out the room at 6:35 when we had it u til 7 and the service was just so bad no communication at all ! I would not recommend you to spend your money on this place for a birthday party

Great new place for kids entertainment. Was there for a bday party.

Ryan was perfect for our company's Holiday party. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed themselves.

Had a terrible experience with wanting to play a game of Lazer tag and customer service with supervisor Liam. After waiting for a game and according the the girl at the desk said we were getting in next. Unfortunately another attendant greeted us at the start of the next game was starting and said we had to wait till another game, I asked why we couldn't join everyone else and the attendant asked the other party if we could join them.we were denied, because they had little ones. I had a 9 yr old. I'm not s

Awesome arcade, staff could have been a tad more attentive.

Cassie hosted my daughter and Nieces Birthday party and she was soo attentive! Shes made sure everything we had everything we needed and the party turned out to be a huge success thanks to her and her hard work! The pizza and other apps we ordered were delicious! The atmosphere was soo cool, the kids all loved it aswell and everyone had a nlast! Thank you Cassie your a Rock Star girl!!! ??????????

Experience great, the games are fun, and the food is good. BUT the food takes a while and the customer service isn't the best it could be.

Had my daughters 6th birthday party at Ryan?s Hanover this past Sunday. Our party host Chris was amazing! Very patient, friendly, helpful and all around a great host. The kids had a great time and I will be booking future Bday parties ??

Clean and fun. Didn't have much time to spend, but the Mariokart racing game was super fun. Will be back.

Second time coming with my friend. We are huge arcade fans. Had a great experience the first time. Tried to cash in my tickets from the Willy Wonka game and one card did not have a bar code. Had some young manager Ryan, accuse me of bringing in a single card from another arcade. I'm a 54 yr old woman that just cashed in over a 1500 pts in cards! I could care less about 20 pts but to treat me like that! Totally disappointed in the customer service. Teach your managers better customer service skill

Got there right when they opened wasn't busy at all . Fun time!! The claw games actually allow you to win easily. I saw everyone walking around with prizes . Staff was younger kids but were really nice and helpful . Will definitely be going back !!

Micheal B helped me out so much and had amazing service. Him along with Cohen R made my experience a lot better. I WILL be coming back. They both deserve a promotion and a raise

Such an awesome place. Today was a rainy day, place was packed but staff made everyone happy and all felt welcomed. Very friendly atmosphere. I brought in 6 kids and half of them lost their reward card at the prizes area and they were helped and taken care of. Thank you!

We went today and ask about the restaurant the person at the snack bar said there wasn't one, then Oliver came over and helped us out. We ate in the bar area, Oliver was very attentive, patient, and answered all of our questions. He was very nice and made the experience at your facility so much better. Great Job Oliver!!!!

I've only been here with kids ranging from 5-11 years old. We have done bowling, and the arcade, The arcade is one of the best around. The bowling is great for all ages! Their is a kids menu for food.

This place didn't give my son his bonus that he had been saving up for. One of the coin pushers had this 7,000 ticket bonus if you had the full set but the guy working there just added the cards individually and when we asked him about it, he just gave an extra 1,000. I thought this was really shady that this place would do this.

Fun place with lots of games that kids and adults can do. Some of the machine ate my money, but all in all a good time.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. LIAM who i believe sadly is a manager presented us with HORRIFIC service. Rented a Private room which LIAM would serve us drinks, see him for 10 Minutes then he left leaving over 50+ guests with no-one to service them. Speaking to LIAM over the phone I had my kids and couldn't get there to make a payment he said ?well pack your kids up in the car and head down then? then threatened me with theft of service. Extremely disappointed in how unprofessional Liam was. Would have be

10/10 hands down the best experience I've had rented out the vip private party room for my baby birthday and honestly was the best decision I've ever made had an amazing time the entire team/workers were amazing and kind I have 0 complaints will definitely be back again!!!

I'm a grandmother of 2 children and my grandson and his friends went out to bowl and to play arcade games. When he came back he had a big smile on his face and I asked him what he was so happy for and he expressed how him and his friends won a big bear by earning the tickets and how he was conversating with a worker that was about his age named micheal and expressed that he was a great worker and he should be promoted to manager. He also expressed how there was a manager named Shauna that was there and she wa

Lanes were not properly oiled? ?? I was well excited when I got to pick my shoe size! ?? Boston Bowl doesn't do that.. Their steak and cheese (with extra mayo) was the bomb! ?? ?? ?? The sink-it game was jammed but attendant Ben Dixon dropped everything he was doing to recover my lost balance and fix the game ?????????????? Will be returning with my uncle-in-law momentarily (ski ball) ??????????

foods very good!!! Birria tacos (a definite must have) at Ryan's family amusements! An amazing place to come to any day of the week ????

Axe throwing was a blast. Went for girls night, reserved the lane online before. If you've never been axe throwing you need to go. Ryan's is large and clean, the staff was friendly.

Managers should be doing their job in this place, it is mostly a children?s place and teenage workers are yelling around the place swearing etc, sitting on top of the counters not even willing to help people that come up to the registers, as managers are sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Such a waste of money for awful customer service.

I take my kids here and they always have a great time. While the food isn't the best, we come for the entertainment. It's a fun outing with the kids!

Place was very clean, friendly helpful staff. We had issues at first with laser tag. While they worked on fixing it they gave us another game for free. We definitely had a great time. And appreciate the helpful staff

Awesome place. We had a blast!

Absolutely HORRRIBLE!!!! Do not come here!!! They have the worse customer service I have ever seen!! The manager Liam is a disgrace. He clearly doesn't understand the meaning of customer service!!!!!! I'm not sure how hes still a manager, he treats people horribly. I will never ever step foot into ryans again and I will make sure I tell EVERYONE I know about this and let them know the same thing!

PLEASE I'm warning and asking, do NOT touch anything in this place that's been inflated. No basketball games and do NOT get the cheap ones in the claw machine. I saw a little boy get so severely burned when a cheapie basketball toy from the claw machine spontaneously combusted in his little arms and blew up on his body. So hard that it flew off him and BROKE plexiglass. I have never experienced a louder noise in my life. I've been traumatized by this ever since. And the staff laughed it off and gave him a P

Went bowling here. everything is new so it's nice but It smelled like sewerage. It's hard to enjoy yourself with the smell of hot diarrhea wofting around.

I was on the toilet and the bathroom lights turned off, it was pitch black! With no way to turn them back on (from the toilet)! Would not go back for this reason.

Service was slow had to keep looking for the waiter had a beer at 5:00 p.m. for the second time they ran out of my beer manager was unprofessional said we were a little bit loud and if it keeps up they'll throw us out there was only four of us

Great time, arcade area can get crowded or loud, but people have parties there so it's understandable. Go into the restaurant food is good and noise is reduced.

Amazing tonight lots of fun with lots of group activities. Loved bowling, ax throwing, good , arcades, beverages and food. Staff was kind and amazing ??

Place absolutely sucks. Had a terrible time with my little boy Sherman since he got bullied by the workers. The manager was rude and the service was horrid. Never coming back

Never been there before. I had a freaking blast

I went to this place for the first time this weekend. Some nice machines and cool place. What really impressed me was the customer service. Employee Scott Noble showed great qualities and was very professional. ????

Great place to go bowling with friends or the family. My son and nephew especially loved the arcade and laser tag after.

i don't know who you are ryan but thank you ,finally a place i can afford to bring my family too without spending crazy money .2 cards $40 unlimited and eat good food another $20 fed all 4 of us love ittttttttt

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025!
