Customer Reviews

The staff were pleasant and accommodating. It was a nice family outing on a rainy afternoon and not busy (as the older kids were all in school). They don't have food (except some vending machine items), but we had Millis House of Pizza deliver.

Great for what it is, a old school candlepin bowling alley. No food served but you can bring stuff in. They have a small selection of beer on tap and vending machines. Kids love the gamming area and its honestly one of the more reasonably priced arcades in the area

Good bowling spot that is reliable. Recommend calling to see if lanes are open.

Nice time. I didn't realize candlepin bowling was still in our area. Decent value as well.

OMG....I finally was able to try my hand at Candle Pin bowling. It is not as easy as it looks but it is fun to do. I would have loved to bowl more than one game but I felt the price was a bit spendy. I know for a fact though, when I come back out to visit my daughter, we will make another stop in.

Edit: I visited again recently and it was still a good time. Keep it up! Original: The place is clean. The employees were nice. The pins got stuck in the reset and the employees fixed it very quickly, like we were their first priority.

Great and friendly staff even if it was one of the busiest days. For the first time I saw small bowling?s balls for kids which was great!

Ideal place for bowling and get-together...

My early experiences here included dozens of video games to the right when you walked in. To the left were a couple of dozen pool tables that were usually full. Of course, there was a full candlepin bowling alley with over twenty-five lanes. At least a quarter of the people in there were to use the ?men?s room??, where the drug activity went on. It was a public secret, and it lasted forever. The pinball players were in on it and the pool players had to visit the bathroom often. Bowlers were oblivious. Tod

Nice place to go relax . A little pricey but worth the fun. The bowling balls are small so a little challenging. It's more for kids I would say.

It was fun and a lot has changed since the last time I went, but in a good way.

I'm on a bowling league & this is a great place, to come to for league bowling one of the few candlepin bowling alley in the area. I always have fun when I go to Ryan's Family In Millis. The people that work here are fantastic & very helpful if you have any problems. Great place for all ages.

Had a great time candlepin bowling here for the first time last night - on Thanksgiving no less. We had nothing to do, and found out they were open (and had an awesome deal), so we made the drive up from Providence. The guy working there was so kind and cheerful. He genuinely seemed happy to be there to give families/friends something fun to do together that evening, and I'm grateful for that. Especially as almost nothing was open, which was good for workers and I'm not advocating for opening on holidays -

Great place to take a family for some fun bowling! Owners were great and very accommodating. Definitely coming back!

Had my daughter's birthday party here yesterday! It was WONDERFUL ?? Will definitely be coming back next year! ??

Small, clean and well maintained bowling alley and arcade. Great for family fun time! Very reasonably priced.

Went to another great birthday party at Ryan Amusements in Millis, Ma. This one was for younger kids, so the parents chose to go with more arcade & claw machines, instead of bowling. It was a great choice! The kids all had so much fun! The claw machine that you get to play until you win was a big hit with my kids. The guy behind the counter where they redeemed their points was so good interacting with them. Great place!

An old school type place that reminded me of going "little ball" bowling when I was a kid. They have modern electronic automatic score keeping boards that show how long you've been playing. Also, it shows how fast you're throwing/rolling the ball. My 8 and 6 year old enjoyed it. Thank goodness they put up the bumpers. We also spent time/money in the arcade area. All the machines/games were working as intended.

Great time with the family. Prizes were plentiful from the games. Well worth what we spent and everyone has great memories now!

Went for Sunday morning bowling with 2 little kids. It's the best deal on Sunday mornings with kids... seriously. Allowing 4 year olds to be wild and do their thing was a plus. They bowled for the first time (staff provided a ramp and put the bumpers up for them). The arcade games were fun. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I will absolutely be returning for Sunday mornings.

Me and my two children went on a Sunday afternoon for some family fun. We bowled for an hour and had a great time. I am not a professional bowler but I would not expect to see many playing there. Some of the lanes are warped and a lot of the balls have chips out of them. This is not a complaint its honest feedback. I thought the conditions were completely fine for family fun at the rate they charge. There is also a small arcade inside the center. Beer wine and snacks are available. My favorite part, the Pat

A somewhat older woman behind the counter was rude and yelling at me in front of my kids for no reason. The facility seemed ok, got the impression that the man and teenager girls working there were alrite, but she already spoiled the outing for us. folks are usually nicer in places with families and kids. Whoever hired her must want the business to shutdown. Scoring system does not work properly.

Candle pin bowling and arcade - can it get any better? Good prices, great fun. Dated but clean facilities. Games are all new, well maintained & staff is friendly and helpful. Great for affordable, fun b'day parties too, but bring your own water and any other snacks - both are limited & in vending machines.

Went with my husband and 2 children (5 & 7). The kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. We paid per person by the hour. I believe the cost w/shoes was $35 for 1 full game. We did not take advantage of the arcade games, but will next time we go.

Great time with 5 Adults!! Fun bowling and great game room which is more for the kiddos, but we still had a blast playing skee-ball and sitting on a virtual ride, very cool! We were all pleasantly surprised! This is a must for anyone who has kids for birthday parties!!

We brought our grandkids (5 and 8) here and had a really great time. I had never seen candle stick bowling before (apparently an American Northeast thing) but I enjoyed watching my wife and the grandkids bowl. They have removable bumpers to prevent gutter balls and that worked just fine for the little ones. I am impressed by the latest innovations in automatic electronic scoring. (Maybe they have had had this for the last 40 years. I wouldn't know.) All in all, this was really a great time -- great m

Arrived on Friday for unlimited bowling, but all the lanes were in use by leagues. So they let me join in on the leagues as a substitute, free of charge (though it's normally about $10)! Everyone was super friendly. Great family friendly place. They also have an arcade area and clean restrooms.

Nice family place to go candlepin bowling. Went with my In-laws who never bowled before and they absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. Went for a Anniversary party and it was a lot of fun. everyone enjoyed themselves there. Only Complaint is I had to get the guys 3 times in a period of 3 hours because it would get stuck clearing the pins. but it took maybe 2-3 minutes.

Great time with the fam loved the candle pin the arcade and the food

Best candlepin bowling spot around. Super affordable prices and almost never busy. Nice little arcade as well. Great place to bring the kids/family.

A great place to enjoy family fun with candlepin bowling. Reasonable cost and unlimited fun.

Staff are very friendly and lots of good bowling deals including a $30 monthly pass where you can bowl 3 games a day each day. They separate groups by at least every other lane during covid. Help keep candlepin bowling in business!

As a big and longtime fan of the downtown Newport, RI location, I was looking for something similar, but this location was more about candlepin bowling (which is fine) rather than games and related experiences. Good games were represented--including a really strong racing simulation--and a good selection of prizes. My 14-year-old son enjoyed, although he was disappointed that we didn't get to bowl. Nice place in an area without much similar nearby.

Great arcade, & even better lanes! Place is clean, staff are attentive and want nothing more than for everyone to enjoy themselves. Been coming here for 20 years and have no intention of candlepin bowling anywhere else.

Candle pin bowling and a solid arcade. Uses cards to track arcade payout and has a good prize selection. My 2 sons and I have been patrons for years. Solid birthday party packages and a nice kid friendly environment make for a winner.

It's a good place if you like bowling and arcades. It's not so good if you are susceptible to sensory overload (e.g. noise and flashing lights). The alleys are modern and clean. The cost is fifty cents a minute per lane plus shoe rental if needed. The arcade has several games the kids seem to like. Most of the arcade games cost a dollar. Pay and collect prize tickets on a pre purchased card.

Kind of a hidden gem for your family. Candlepin bowling with arcade games and a few beers on tap for the adults. Prices are a little high but still well worth it.

We went on a sunday, right after breakfast at budabing's , this was our first time at this alley, and won't be our last. The place is very clean, one of the cleanest candlepin alleys i've seen . the arcade games where a nice halftime show for my kids and than back to bowling. very pleased, keep up the good work.

We had the best time at Ryan Family Amusement on Christmas Eve day. We had a great room, the staff was organized, and was willing to be helpful whenever possible!! They were accommodate our family holiday party and everyone in our family had fun!!

Really fun candlestick bowling and arcade. Great place for a family night out. We were here for a birthday party and it was a lot of fun. They have private party rooms for cake and pizza.

Had a good time candlepin bowling and playing arcade games here on a recent Saturday afternoon. There was a kid's birthday party going on in one of the party rooms at the time, but otherwise it wasn't too busy there.

Really fun! I'm from NY and we don't have candlepin bowling around us. Awesome time and a great experience.

Nice place good lanes clean. Best place around!

Great place to bring kids! Fun candlepin bowling and a great arcade. Also a good place for parties!

So much fun. We were up from another state visiting family. Wantedto play NewEngland candlepin bowling. Very nice facility. Good indoor fun. Nice sized selection of games at arcade.

Good place for small parties like Kids Birthday.. Bowling and drinks combination is good?

We had fun with the kids esp. with the arcades

Great staff and service. Not happy that they migrated from tokens to a swiping card. Arcade more than tourist attractions. Kids didnt get concept wasted 20 bucks swiping card not realizing ramifications

Is a good place to have a great time with family and friends There was only one issue with one server a guy who is very disrespectful he doesn't have no manners he is not good for his position

Wonderful place to go relax, enjoy and bowl. Staff is super nice.

Nice place. Called last minute for a birthday and staff set us up with back to back lanes. They were also running a deal on the arcade cards. Thanks, great time!

Fun place to bring the kids. Not expensive. Awesome for a rainy day or to escape a heat wave!

Great fun arcade! The amusements and prizes are being refreshed regularly making for a great experience! And there are often Groupon's and other incentives making it affordable as well.

If you're visiting the area, you should play candlepin bowling (with bumpers), it's SUPER fun!!!

If you've never been candlepin bowling before you have got to try it. Great fun and good exercise for the whole family. Fun place for everyone

Wonderful place to play candle pin bowling. They also have an arcade.

Lots of fun, great customer service,Grandkids just have a blast, everyone is extremely helpful

Not a bad little place. No real food just Nachos so eat first. Candle pin bowling only. Draft beer available

Great candlepin bowling! Plenty of lanes. Lots of seating. A Well lit clean building.

Fun place for all ages!

, I visited this place twice in my life once with my wife once with my son in my life the atmosphere is lousy it's overrated to place to have a couple of drinks and pick up a couple of bowling balls the video games are rigged more than a casino the coffee machine is never cleaned I want to have a pay a dollar for the apple cider and I got apple cider and coffee the bathroom was horribly disgusting in the machines rip the cut rip you off or I should say woman owns the machines and programs machines their rig

Very rare to find a candlepin bowling place and the staff is very friendly!!! One of the staff was even kind enough to give me some pointers when they saw I was struggling!

While it's fun for the kids, the bowling lanes do have issues where all balls veer to the left. Check Groupon for good deals on this place though.

Bowling league meets on Tuesday mornings. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

We love visiting Ryan?s. Great for birthday parties, too!

Good family friendly bowling alley; nice arcade to go along with the bowling. Automatic scoring works well, bumpers provided for little ones.

Great bowling alley. Candlelit, nice staff. Nice atmosphere.

Not a great experience. Automatic scoring wouldn't work and it cost an arm and a leg to bring five kids and two adults...one of whom didn't even bowl. Crowded and loud.

This is a really cool gem. If you love candlepin bowling and arcade games it's a great place to go.

People are super nice and helpful and they have great arcade games and the best bowling ever you get free shoes and bowling I highly recommend it to you

It is a fun place! But, they should offer better prizes for the older teens. I believe they would make more money.

The good bowling alley what's good customer service we have couple good favorite waders

Such an affordable place for family fun.

Had a great time with the family only bad thing claw machines are rigged sadly

Wondeful place to celebrate kids birthday parties.

Alot of fun but not very clean as far as the party room was concerned..or the bathroom

Good cheap place to have a kid's birthday party, but the place is old, the arcade games frequently don't function properly, the staff is annoyed to have to help, and with the thousands of tickets you won by playing games for hours, you might have enough saved up to get a small piece of candy.

Had wonderful experience. Owners are wonderful people and helped my family have a great night! Thank you so much.

A nice bowling and arcade facility. We've attended birthday parties there that were well done.

Kids loved it. Bowled and played some games. The kids earned tickets and got stuff to take home.

Nice place to spend time with the family. The staff was kind and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place for a good family time

It was nice clean attrachin. It has bowling Ally's as well as arcade. The only improvement would be a miniture golf course.

It was very crowded and not much for arcade games. It was more of a bowling alley with some games.

Fun place to bring kids

Me and my friends has a great time there, cheap and always a good place to go.

My first time candlepin bowling...so much fun!

Awesome spot for candle pin bowling. Have a blast there every week for our league.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
