Customer Reviews

In Charleston on a work trip and like to practice while traveling. This place had nice lanes and good oil pattern. I got in early and was able to avoid the kids. I'd say it's a good place to bring the younger ones, have the bumpers and bowling aids. Looks like some decent food options as well as a nice bar too. I'm going to enter the Easter tournament, so hopefully the lanes are as kind tomorrow as they were today. I highly recommend this place. Update on Easter! I was lucky enough to meet Jade while I wa

Highly disappointed. Came for a celebration and was met with a very rude cashier. Her demeanor and communication was very off putting. So much so, that we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Based on our experience, you have to be a certain type of person to be treated fairly. No apology from management or anyone.

I came in a for game a couple weeks ago. Its a nice place but the staff are not so chatty. There is a hole in the chair in the middle lane. It look like it had been there for years. Had a great game and I got the room to myself withthin the first hour of opening time. I haven't bowl since high school and it was a fun game. I am just warming up.

We come here regularly and the lanes need repair/maintenance. The balls frequently get stuck at the pins and the reset button needs frequently pushed. The food is always good and most of the staff are nice but the women who work in the front could use some customer service skills.

This place has been a staple in goose creek for as long as I've been there, and I've been there for a while. Whether you want to bowl or get some decent food and adult beverages, it's a great hang. The only reason I put down four stars is because I'd really like it if they fixed the place up. Mainly the parking area needs repaved and some areas need some tlc but nothing too bad. Bowling and food were excellent (food was a tad bit pricey but not unexpected lol).

Great family fun and a fraction of the cost that Stars and Stripes is. Huge parking lot, decent food and quality lanes. Toddler bumper lanes is much easier as well. Decent arcade as well. We will be back.

?Royal Lanes Family Entertainment is the perfect spot for fun and family bonding! The bowling lanes are top-notch, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. There's something for everyone, from bowling to arcade games, and even great food at the snack bar. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring that our experience was smooth and enjoyable. Whether you're planning a family outing, a date night, or a group event, Royal Lanes delivers an amazing time. Highly reco

I called a couple of weeks ago to inquire about bowling on Super Bowl Sunday. The woman gave me the times etc. We were a group of 12, 6 cchildren and 6 adults to celebrating a birthday. 12 of us traveled a half hour and arrived at 10 A.M.,when it was to open . We waited until 10:20,along with about 20 other people. Sign on door said open Sundays 10 A.M.,NO sign that it was closed. It was extremely disappointing. I called this morning and was told it was closed for Super Bowl Sunday. Why wasn't I told that

Beware of this establishment. At the beginning of Dec. I called to find out about youth leagues. The first time I called I spoke to an older lady who had no information about youth leagues and basically told me she didn't know. Never offered any help on where to get the information. 3 days later I called again a nice younger lady gave me all the information on how the youth league works and that all I needed to do was come to the meeting on Jan 6 at 6:30 and my son could register up and get started. Bo

Had a little family get together for my son turning 8. They were so nice and accommodating! We had two pizzas and wings, both were good quality bar food. Kids had fun at arcade. Will be back!

Decent lanes and friendly staff. Snack bar can sometimes be left unmanned, leaving you to stand there for 5 minutes until someone arrives to service you. Some of the lanes are bad, though. Most are perfect, but some of the pinsetters are in need of replacement. They'll often drop pins, or rather wont set them down to begin with, requiring you to press the reset button a couple times in order to have a full rack. Kind of annoying, but can be easily solved by moving to a better lane They have a great special

Excellent bowling alley! Something fun to do with the family in Goose Creek. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy but it was a smooth running operation. We didn't have to wait, and the place was clean. Only a couple small complaints are that they didn't have a good selection of ball weights and it was sometimes slow to get service at the bar. Can't wait to return.

We come here every Sunday between 10-12 for their $2 games. Staff is great. They all know my son and greet us with smiles every time.

Waited 2 hours and 30 mins for a lane and got kicked out halfway in my game cause they said when the lights go out, kids must leave no exceptions

My brother invited me to come see him, practice with the bowling team he's on. I really enjoyed myself and atmosphere was very appreciative. There was no smoking and I was able to carry out the procedure for coronavirus.

Nice family entertainment facility. Clean, modern, and reasonably priced. Lanes were in great shape! Will visit again. Nice concession area as well as a restaurant/bar.

We love this place! It's clean and fresh, and things feel new. Plus the staff is helpful and friendly. Our big group event was amazing and so fun for everyone in attendance!

Laid back, chill, environment. Went with some inexperienced bowlers, just about everyone scratched over the lines. We never saw or heard from management regarding these infractions like most alleys. I think I went on a Saturday night...? Got pretzel bites, they were delicious and the kids serving were friendly. There was karaoke, pool tables and full bar service. I enjoyed myself so much! Thank you Royal Lanes, I'll be back!!! ??????

Awesome bar with fairly prices drinks. Fast food type nothing fancy but still good. Friendly service and awesome atmosphere. Go early on the weekends cause it's always packed. Fun time all around.

We came in at 8:55 and they told us it would be an hour wait so we went to get food and came back within the hour, but I guess lane opened up within 25min instead and they only hold the lane for 10min. I didn't know it was this busy on a Saturday night, but we attempted to wait in the line again, they said we might not get in now. We waited almost another hour before leaving. Once home, we got the text a lane was ready at 11:30 but they close at 12am. They do an ?all you can bowl? but if it's thattt busy,

Limited selection of balls. Bad rental shoes. Staff is nice, food is good.

Fun fun fun! We are new to Goose Creek and wanted to try out some local indoor fun activities. We bowled and was able to get a pizza and drinks. A bit expensive but that is expected, and was well worth the 2 1/2 hours we spent having fun.

Called and she hung up on me immediately after I asked how much the bowling balls weighed because I have arthritis and I need something lower than eight will not be attending here

Nice place to hang out with family and friends. Kids can play until 9pm only.

Had a group of 16. Paid for 2 games and they shut if off in the middle of second game and tried to say it was time limited. Also the fountain drinks tasted terrible.

The lanes are trash, pins never reset correctly. You spend half your time asking staff to reset your lane. Prices of beer are equivalent to the airport. Asked the manager to comp me a game because of the faulty lanes and pins and she claimed it was impossible. When their league came in we gladly moved lanes for their convenience but never did they show the same appreciation when we asked for some accommodation for faulty equipment. Such a trash establishment. Do not come here. Since I can't respond t

Will not be returning to this facility. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude. My boyfriend and I paid for unlimited bowling and got to play two rounds before our ball return stopped working. I asked one of our neighbor lanes if they knew what to do, they didn't so they went up to the front desk. He came back and reported that someone was coming to fix it. However, after waiting about 5-10 minutes the same neighbor lane offered to let us play with them. So I thought it was the courteous thing to do

Such a great family or going alone spot. Every staff member I have seen and talked to are friendly. They have awesome week day specials too!

I had a great time here even tho our lane (33) kept messing up! They finally moved us to another lane and we continued our fun.

Company outing...I had a blast!!! Go team MERIDIAN RESIDENTIAL GROUP

A lot of fun for the family. Clean facility. My only complaint is that when they get busy and you want to purchase more games on your lane it can take time since only one person is working the register and getting shoes. But the staff is friendly and helpful.

We had a great time, hadn't gone in over 20 years, we were terrible, but we had fun!

I was overcome with emotions when my boy and several other Cane Bay High students asked me to be " The Mom" who chaperoned the high school students after the homecoming dance in this 2018 school year. It was very surprising to find out that we were going to be going to Royal Lanes in Goose Creek. It really goes to show that the old bowling alley isn't just something that you do as a family, or as you get older, or back in the day. This establishment is very well appropriate for all ages. I was very surprise

It must be so nice to work at a bowling alley and get paid to tell women what they can and cannot wear. Do NOT go to this place unless you want to go back to the 1920s before women had basic rights. After me and my party had already paid, the elderly woman working the front counter told me I HAD to change because I had a tank top on. While playing, she yelled over the intercom at a young lady to put her jacket back on because she had a tank top on as well. Keep in mind it's peak summer season and 97 degrees

Food comes out a little slow but the Lanes are good.

Thank you to the non trained staff members here. The young lady I talked to did not inform me of the $350 I would be spending for a birthday. The only thing she told me was the $100 non refundable fee. Who in there right mind doesn't explain everything to come with and how much it fully is for a party. The last lady I talked to tried to justify the cost. So thank you for allowing me to waste a $100. Train better people to have customer service and how to fully explain everything. Zero stars

The place is quite nice. I can tell that the seating hasn't been updated in decades but besides the one chair that I noticed having a hole in, they still function fine. This place has 36 lanes and great deals. It has your average bowling alley food that i love chowing down on every time I'm there. And the place is just genuinely fun to visit when you get the itch to go. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the arcade. Kinda small but it functions and is pretty nice considering the space they have to work with.

Great place to bowl. Price is very affordable too.

The manager was awesome, worked with me. The pizza was surprisingly delicious. Beers were cold. Music was great. Bowling wasn't bad. Great experience, will absolutely be back.

We had alot of fun bowling and playing games! I basically threw $30 in the trash though we ordered two large pizzas one pepperoni and one cheese it was not good at all im a big pizza lover i think that was the first time i ever threw away alot of pizza?? other than that everything was great staff was amazing!

Went there from 9pm to modnight on a Monday for a company event (another restaurant group) and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The ladies at the bar were quick to let me know the daily specials as well as giving great service. Would definitely recommend for a corporate or private event!

A group of us were planning to go bowling there so I called them on Monday to ask about pricing. The girl that answered the phone told me it was $5 per game per person and $4.50 for shoes if anyone needed them. I told her we'd be coming on Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. She explained that they do not take reservations. I was ok with that since she didn't mention any other events going on there. When we arrived, we were told that there was at least a two hour wait because Wednesday is league night. I asked th

If you bring children under the age of 6 you may just want to do one game. My 3 grands had fun

Had an amazing time with friends and family, food is bar food but tasty after a couple beers or cocktails of your choice! Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!

Fun, fun, fun. Something for everyone. A good place to play and have great conversation. There are things for children to do and adults to do including bowling. There is also a snack bar and a bar. There are pool tables and bathrooms. A very enjoyable experience.

It's a very nice local bowling alley comfortably located here in goose creek. they have everything here you need for bowling primarily. also a bar next to the food station and also has arcade machines. I will say they will probably need to update their bowling lane systems like the tv's to much more modern equipment like the ones at stars and strikes but that's just my small pet peeve but hey, don't fix anything that's not broken. Also, the pro shop seems to be closed all the time.......?

Would recommend better air conditioning, for even the kids were sweating inside. The lanes don't have enough tables for if you have one lane next to another group. The service was okay at first but more busy it got, worse service for attitude wise. I'd suggest still for it was fun to bowl, but if you have kids, I'm not sure if I'd suggest bringing.

Alcohol is expensive food is meh and got strikes that didnt register

Our lane kept malfunctioning and would not score us for strikes or spares. We switched lanes and the next one worked fine. Super busy on a Saturday as expected.

Laid back spot & nice vibe. Getting the attention of the bartenders on a Saturday night is almost slim to none. Otherwise the crew and I had a great time! Update: The spicy chicken egg rolls were really good!

Kid friendly. Staff were all polite and respectful. Very busy place, which made it very hot inside, but was still a great family activity! My kids all loved it!

Rude staff. Weird manager cleaning lanes with zamboni just cuts into the middle of our game to clean the lane. Messes with the score and he has to go over and reset it. Placed us next to the only other group bowling as well. Strange staff and rude workers ruined the experience.

Nice, clean, and friendly. I just wish the balls were more organized, but I quickly found options that worked well

Took my two grandkids (age 16 and 12). We used the bumpers and had a great time! Auto scoring?...of course!

I've been to the bowling alley quite a few time, but I dont think I have ever brought my kids to this one. I was shocked to learn that they dont allow bumper for any child that is taller than the counter, which is pretty upsetting when you have a child who is autistic, who is used to always having bumpers, and in the 80th percentile for height and doesnt bowl well at all. We had already paid for the lane so it wasnt like we could just leave. They were not accommodating in anyway. I honestly dont see why it

My son had a bowling league and we came here until it was suddenly canceled. The arcade is ok, enough to keep the little kids entertained. It's just dirty, the bowling lanes malfunction ALL the time, food and drinks here are absolutely crazy expensive and they offer birthday partys....... for 350$!!! I laughed when I saw that price because HELL NO. I just can't understand that at all. We will make the drive to moncks corner instead.

Went to the official restaurant called "Gators" and was very impressed. We were leaning towards ordering a pizza but expected it to be of low quality. The bartender told us it was handmade, so we went with it. We asked for pepperoni but received Italian sausage. There was a surprisingly amount of cheese on it. Too much! (I'm sure the manager is wondering where all the cheese went.) But we assume there's a new cook back there. Overall the pizza tasted great. The garlic crust was a great surprise. The bartend

Used to bowl here 20 years ago glad to see it still there and in great shape

Very nice place. It is clean and clearly has been maintained very well over a long period of time. I travel for work so for now I'm in the area. The specials they have in place from day to day are great. The staff is nice and professional. I haven't had too much of the food, but the chicken fries were surprisingly good. Most of the time during the week I've found out they're pretty much full house because of leagues. So if it's between 5pm and 9pm on Monday-Thursday, I would look elsewhere if you're not a l

The only thing holding this place back is the overpriced food and how often they cater to leagues. If you can't ask them during their public bowling times the places amazing. They have over 30 lanes and if they're not hosting a lead that night they usually have something open immediately or fairly quick. They have a mini arcade and pool tables

I went here to bowl with some friends and had a blast. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the price per game is super affordable. Be sure to get there early so you don't have to wait too long for a lane to open up. The drink prices are great and the egg roll appetizer was so yummy, perfectly fried. Only critique is that it does take longer than you might like to get drinks or snacks, not sure if that is due to being understaffed.

Nice lanes, friendly staff, had a great time

Love they pizza, the person that gives to people orders needs to take her gloves off(after wipping the counter off) and wash her hands, before getting the food from the kitchen. I don't know why they take the chicken tenders and pull one apart. (Seeing the chicken) The dude in the kitchen says, they do that to make sure the food is done.

I booked a party package for 300 I paid 100 for deposit. Day of party, we waited 45 mins before we could even get our drinks with no ice, we had no forks ,or cake cutter. We only got two pizzas, and they were burnt. We had one host who had 4 parties she was trying to tend to. We spoke to manager a few times. He gave me a discount in the amount of 214 total including the deposit.. they cleaned out table, folded tables and stacked chairs before our party was over. And in the middle of chaos, I gave him 250 ca

one star off only because the facility is pretty heckin' dated. it could use a bit of a facelift. but prices are decent, they still do midnight madness, and every employee i interacted with was kind and professional. had a small issue with my lane, and the young lady at the counter solved it in seconds. 4/5, would return

I came to visit friends from the Midwest and we had the pleasure of finding this gem. The staff was amazing. Gavin was so much fun with his fun loving attitude and smiles. Recommend this place with enthusiastic thumbs up.

Didn't have a bad experience but the bowling area needs an upgrade. Sitting is limited for parties of 4 or more for some lanes. Bar / restaurant area is nicely set up, but obviously not family friendly after 6. The crowd in the bar, is exclusively adults going for drink and fun, completely independent from bowling . Police were present at the parking lot. Not sure if that was a good or a bad thing.

Loves this place. But ever since the other bowling alley closes down this place just feels like a club now ... always too crowded and they have 0 hesitation to put 8 people in one lane....cool spot but I don't know

Visiting family and we decided to take everyone bowling. All of us arrived and the lady at the front was rude from the start (most likely because of the size of our group). After we all finally got paid and shoes sorted we sat down to bowl. The systems are incredibly outdated. About 30min to an hour into bowling with my littles (7, 5, 2) and my nephew and niece on our lane, I went to find food because they were hungry. I walked up to the grill/snack area and inquired and was told the grill doesn't open unti

I really enjoyed this place. They were attentive, there wasn't a lot of people in there, and the bathrooms were clean! This was my daughter's first time coming and she loved it. I really liked the children's bowling ramps that they had. They really helped my little one feel a bit more independent. Definitely will be coming back here.

Friendly staff quick service when pins got stuck

The only reason we bowl here, is because our beloved Sandpiper was lost to poor management and greed. This place is a joke, always has been. The staff is supremely rude. The owner is notorious in the bowling community for being less than nice, probably why the employees are so unhappy and poor at what they do. So thank your lucky stars sir. The only reason you exist, your the only option for those of us ( league bowlers) who love the game. But the majority would go elsewhere if given the venue. Any smart

Not bad, not great, average. We walk in and go to the desk for checking in. Standing there for about five minutes with various and I mean various employees just glancing at us and walking by chitter chatting with one another. Stand there about a minute more before a young dude smiled briefly. Five more minutes before they eventually checked us in. So me and my partner are already annoyed. Get to the lane, strap those shoes on and go to put our names into the computer to play, it doesn't start. We're sitting

Booked a $329.00 party for my 9 year old twin Grands. Was to include decorations and a host. Never saw the host until time to order the pizzas. Two pizzas came while sitting getting COLD as we wait for another party get served all three of their pizzas. The host had ZERO interest in engaging in Nothing pertaining to my party. I needed a lighter to light the candles and a marker to sign the bowling pins. He was unable to accommodate. I was not told the decorations did not include balloons. The staff at the

We had an amazing time! Fairly priced games. And the bartender. She is amazing! We'll definitely visit again.

Usually always a great experience until today. I bought my kids in for their very first bowling experience and the lane we were assigned to gave us so many issues. I understand it's no one?s fault but we asked for help more than three times and could get NO help. The older black woman did not seem to care to help us at all she just caught an attitude when we would ask for assistance. We just left in the very first half of our first game(We paid for 2). What a waste of money and definitely not a good first i

Very friendly and I love the bartender everytime I go she always has the best humor and stories :)!! I am defiantly at least a once a month regular now.

Never have I ever had so many issues with missing pins after someone's turn is over and it should be reset for the next person, after so many times of that we switched lanes and it happened a couple more times. Maybe the equipment needs recalibrated or something? My daughter and I didn't experience that here 6 months ago when we came so ???????

Bowled 3 games with the family and friends, we had a great time. We went at 10am when they opened on Saturday morning so it wasn't too busy yet. We ate some fries and soft pretzels, both were great. If you haven't been bowling in a while, I'd suggest trying this place out!

Loved our visit to royal lanes bowling alley. It's exactly what you expect when you want to go bowling. Music was great as was all our food we got. They have the most knowledgeable and friendly employees. Awesome.bowling experience

Great place to bowl, do karaoke ?? and just have FUN

Great time! Helpful staff, clean lanes and restroom, good food and drinks. Pizza came out twice raw, but the staff brought us a fresh, fully cooked pizza very quickly. Great family-friendly evening!

I'm an older guy and don't bowl that much anymore, and have only bowled at Royal Lanes once (just moved to the area). The first impression when you pull into the parking lot is not great. The lot and the outside, in general, are not very well maintained. Once you enter, the interior is fine, although a bit dated looking. I bowled in the afternoon so can't evaluate how the lane conditions are at night during leagues, but Parker Bohn and his son bowl here in a league, so that tells me that it must be a decent

People at the desk were helpful and friendly. Everything seemed relatively clean. Only minor complaint was trying to find a house ball that had big enough finger holes. But we still had a great time, and definitely plan on going back.

The desk girl with glasses was really really nice. The snack bar for with pink hair was honestly quite rude. I ordered fries, boneless wings, mozzarella sticks and chilli cheese fries. We had come in way before a very large group of teens and they were pushing out their orders faster than they could even acknowledge mine. I had to wait over an hour for the food only for me to be handed TWO out of the FOUR things i ordered. i?m not even sure I would have gotten my order if it weren't for me sending my boyfri

Great staff that work here. Morgan the young lady that helped me was amazing! Her infectious smile, greeting, and most excellent customer service skills were top of the line coming from a senior in high school. Between her, the gentleman running the pro shop with his extensive knowledge, and karaoke will keep me coming back. Great place solo, with friends, and family. Bring the kids, hang out, and have fun because this is a great place all around!

I took my family there this weekend everybody enjoyed themselves friendly service the bowling was affordable but the food is kind of pricey

Not many things are open on the base after a certain time. This place was open and we had a good time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
