South Portland, Maine 04106
We had a good time overall. The arcade was fun, though the amount of claw machines seems excessive. We tried to do the immersive bowling, but it didn't work, despite someone checking to see if it was working before we paid. They did offer to move us, but since we paid by hour, and the time was getting eaten up by this, we opted to just stay. Otherwise, staff did seem somewhat dismissive and were rushed when asked for assistance. The ticket value of some items in the exchange also seemed off and the fact tha
We had so much fun! I went with my nephews and played lots of games with 300 tokens. The video games are in really good condition and many options. The claw machine games are great! Not a scam, you can actually win! Which makes for a memorable experience. Havent tried the food but i will go again and let you know.
I took a trip to Maine to visit this round 1 because it's the second closest round 1 to me. I was extremely happy with the location, staff, game selection, and prizes. The staff are super friendly and this round 1 had some unique game cabinets that I have never seen before. It was definitely worth the trip. I highly recommend checking it out if you're a fan of arcades and claw machines.
Well, we took our 10-year-old son there for a birthday party and had about the worst experience we could?ve had. The lines were long. The staff had no interest in helping anybody. They were far from accommodating. The restaurant had no food in it. Literally everything we asked for they said they were out of so they didn't have any food that we could feed any of the children. The bathrooms are filthy. Nobody was polite smiled, or anything. We will avoid going there at all costs in the future unless we have t
Big selection of rhythm games. Dance Dance revolution, beatmania, sound voltex, groove coaster, wacca, chimthun, chrono, music diver, dance rush stardom, gitadora, pump it up and so much more.
They shouldn't sell alcohol here. Not a place to have booze dumped all over game machines for kids nor intoxicated people. I'm a drinker so I don't discriminate about consumption but there is a time and place for such things. Arcades catering to children isn't one of them. My 7 year old was covered in beer someone dumped all over a children game.
Food good and fresh. But arcade was HORRIBLE experience. First of all the claw are rigged as heck, DON?T expect to win ANYTHING. Second of all, in order to buy things with multiple cards they had to put all tickets on one, in which they could not to the math correctly and get the total ticket amount transferred to one card, as a result I lost 60 whole tickets. A total of 130 was spent between me and my girlfriends and we walked away with 2 pieces of candy. It is a cool place with lots of cool arcade machine
Ray was amazing! Took our order, cooked our food and sold us on how good the margaritas were so we got 3 and they were amazing!! Honestly such a good experience and mad props to how well she handled all of that by herself!!! 100 stars from myself and our friends.
An excellent place to play DDR and a location we certainly don't deserve in South Portland. However, I only go there for DDR and tonight I was dismayed to find that Galaxy Play is now 3 Credits. The price to play, even buying the most expensive bulk deal, puts one play at just over $1. Now they're expecting $3 for Galaxy Play? Never in two decades of playing DDR have I paid $3 for a single set, even back when you'd get four songs plus an Extra Stage. The benefits of Galaxy Play do *not* warrant paying thre
Honestly, as much as I don't enjoy giving low star reviews, this place is a rip off. My daughter was so excited to go, and I just don't see the allure. The kid at the food counter was rude, surly and aloof. First he was at the bar and I asked him what they have/if it's a full bar, he just shrugged and rolled his eyes and said ?idk.? My 10 year old went to buy an ice cream cone and was excited to go up and do it herself. He told her to ?hold on? and then just never served her. The claw machines are literall
So much fun the gun game that's vr is awesome an got a beer
I've been coming here for a few years and have always enjoyed it. As of lately the experience has been pretty bad. Cabinets lag often when playing them, prices for a lot of games have gone up making the experience less enjoyable, and some games just didn't work period. Food was another story. I went into the line knowing it wasn't going to be Gordan Ramsey's beef Wellington lmao but these workers need help. Having them take care of the bar and food is too much for three people especially on a weekend. No o
TIME PLAY CARDS WERE UNAVAILABLE ALL WEEKEND. 3/8/25. We drove an hour to go to the arcade specifically and when we got there, were told that the time play cards were out across the entire country and that they had been out since Friday and it was Saturday. If we wanted to play games, we would have to buy a much more expensive play card. $10 for an hour time play card vs. $16-80 regular game cards. The $16 regular card last in my daughter about 20 minutes. The manager in a suit was unaccommodating and very
A lot going on here. Bowling lands are a good length. A lot of arcade games imported from Japan, love it. The claw machines are eh, the difference between Asian and American machines are how they stuff it. Yeah it's not supposed to be easy but it takes skill, not shoving things where it's impossible to move. Fun place to blow some time
The bar is super super well maintained. And has a great energy flowing. Highly recommend Ben!!!! He knows a good Long Island Iced Tea! He gets 5 stars in my book!!!
Ray was amazing absolutely perfect such a great bar tender and server and amazing people person!! So happy to have her as my person here.
Ray is AMAZING! I have never had someone who's actually cared for us or taken care of us then this lady! If you see her.. expect your food to be amazing, expect the drinks to be amazing; Never and will never be disappointed. Why we come back! EVERYTIME!
Always Understaffed. The claw machines are so weak they drop everything. Should be investigated for fraud. They halved the payout on most machines and just DOUBLED the prices in the ticket store! Just becoming a scam place.
It was a fun experience. Not what I expected. Food was good not super crowded but was told that it does get much busier. Fun atmosphere. I would go back again
A fun place when at the mall or for a good night out. video games, bowling, and pool are the main activites but can also have birthday parties and other events. Been going there for a while and have enjoyed it each time I have visited.
Large selection of games from old school arcade, skiball, basketball, whack a mole, air hockey, to newer dance, motorcycle and shooting games. They also have a bar, food, pool table, and a different style of bowling with the pins on strings and the balls look like basketballs. Great way to spend rainy night in Portland.
Your average arcade. Very large selection of claw machines which is a bonus. They have the mini claws too.
Round 1 in Maine is a great place to go to with small children to have fun trying to win prizes, however I wouldn't come in with expectations of getting any. I've been to multiple Round 1 locations and know some of the "tips and tricks" to winning them. However, when it came to this location, it seems like nothing was working. I don't want to assume, but it seems like the payout has been set to a high amount of plays before the claw can payout. There was even some times where the claw began to get stronger
Round 1 is an awesome spot for fun! Whether you're into bowling, arcade games, or even karaoke, there's always something exciting to do. The variety of games is impressive, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting. Perfect for a night out with friends, a date, or just some solo gaming fun!
Horrible attitudes from the staff working. Very hostile and rude when trying to order food. I ordered the teriyaki bowl just to be told ?our AMAZING staff doesn't feel like thawing the chicken, so I can give you chicken with sauce on top? with the most sarcastic attitude. There's 6+ workers, some just standing doing nothing? none of you can go thaw some chicken? If you're gonna stand there and watch nothing why can't you stand there and watch the chicken thaw instead??? And no wonder why the Ice-cream is ?9
Had a very stressful doctors appointment for my 3 year old took him here to relieve the stress & have some fun. All the signs say open 10-2a the food place inside was not open, honestly wouldn't have come in if we knew it wasn't open. But since we already did the machine took all of my money except $1 so we asked if they could switch it for another dollar as it just wouldn't take it. They sent us to the bar that wasn't open said they could. They in fact couldn't help us which was fine we figured it out and
It was such a wonderful experience, felt like we had the whole place almost to ourselves. So many arcade options and games to try. Even the claw machines were easy to win!
First time going to a Round 1 and man, was it a lot of fun. They had so, so many options for games so there's definitely something for everyone. Claw machines, classic light gun games, racing games, rhythm games from Japan, and so much more. It's easy to spend a chunk of change here though, so make sure you're ready to drop an easy $100 or so if you're with more than one person.
Plenty to do, fun and brite, never been to an arcade filled with so many games that are impossible to win for small kids. Not recommended if you have small children because they walk out empty handed while watching your dollars go away.
This is by far the best arcade I've ever been in and there was no lack of games to play, my personal favorite are the claw machines. And for larger groups there's quite a few games you can play with up to four people, we did Mario kart, and halo.
Loved it here! Came here here New Years Day to pass the time. My daughters and I had a blast! They had a ton of arcade games, old and new and imports form Japan. They have 4 bowling lanes and billards too. It's a place to hang out and have fun. The bar has plenty drinks. We played arcade games for 2 or 3 hours for about $100 total. They loved the VR King Kong game which had them wear goggles and fight off different creatures with King Kong. It was very funny seeing them wave randomly and scream. Some games
I came up with my family from New Hampshire to go bowling .we were told it would be an hour wait that was fine our hour came and went ,so I decided to check on our status we were told we were 3rd on waiting list and it would be at least another hour she thought ! We already played games and wanted to bowl .Around a few hundred dollars doing that we were eager to do some bowling .The staff did not seem to know much of what was going ,on ,very disappointed .2nd time coming still didn't get to bowl NOT coming
Brought my son and wife out here the other night. We had so much fun in the few hours we were there! Highly recommend if you like games or bowling. They also have a bar and food area inside as well.
It is loud and chaotic and the kids had a blast. We played arcade games that we could go head to head and individually. We did an hour of bowling too that was so much fun.
Went through $75 in tokens in 20 minutes with one child trying to win one of the claw games. Very expensive! Slow service. If you're paying premium prices to be here, you should be providing premium service! I won't come back.
Great place to spend some time with the whole family. Lots of different options for different ages.
Great time for all ages. I had never been and had a real good time w my wife and kids ages 18 13 and 9. They all had a blast.
Large variety of games to play, although some did seem more expensive credits-wise. Prizes were the usual items you expect and "expensive" as usual too. Nice place to spend a couple of hours though if you enjoy games.
Horrible customer service experience. Went in asking for an advertised drink and no employees knew what it was or bothered to help find out. The store manager confirmed the drink availability at the location and it was clearly advertised right next to the food court. Staff was not only unhelpful but incredibly rude when we politely asked questions. We ended up just leaving and very disappointed.
Holy arcade! Huge selection of new games, claw games, and vintage games. Nice bar and good menu, the bowling alley was really neat. Will definitely be coming back here soon!
Grandkids had a fun time playing the games. Ice cream at the snack bar a great value at .99
It was nice the place was open til 2 am with a bar and food. Easy to blow $200 with our lil family between food and games. Recommend match latte with a shot of rum
Good signifigently overpriced, kitchen managed terribly didn't realize had chicken wings until 5+ minutes after I ordered. Games also very expensive as well and a big money grab. Will not be going back
It was fun! We enjoyed it..
Sooo many different games to play here - in order to win tickets to redeem at the ticket shop which has some AMAZING prizes to spend tickets on! The games aren't impossible to win either, so it's really fun. They even have a small battery operated ATV in their little ticket shop. ?? In order to play the games you purchase a game card from the kiosks near the entrance & load funds. There's a place to buy food / drinks / alcohol & tables to eat. There's bowling, air hockey, pool, photo booth(s), and soooo man
This was a fun experience. Stopped of for some shopping and then a few strings. FUN ARCADE RIGHT OUTSIDE
Large arcade in the Maine Mall. Lots of arcade games including shooting, driving, dancing, classic/retro, and throwing style games. Also large number of Claw style machines to win prices. This venue also has a full bowling alley (10 pin) with multiply TV's, pool tables, rent-able party/event rooms, and a full snack bar which has various hot/cold food items, ice cream, and beverages including alcohol. This venue also stays open late past the Mall hours and can be entered from the outside entrance to the
They sell over priced packages dont get many games for $$. Unlikited per hr is lie straight up. Wven though i played abgame for more than 90seconds after i swiped it it said to many consecutive swipes. Seriously why would that matter if am playing on an unlimited play card for 1 hr. Why does 90 sexonds wait time even exist? Foe the few people who want to cheat? Even so if the 90 second time is passed and i still cant play?? Messed up. No one here not like someone was waiting. Wont come bck. 2 stars for bow
Great spot. If you want to level up your experience WEAR EARPLUGS, it makes it so much better. Earplugs that double as headphones are available online, which is even better.
This place was awesome both my kids had a great time would definitely recommend ??
We visited this place one evening when it was relatively slow. The service was excellent. The guy behind the counter was so great and very informative. We enjoyed it so much, that we just made a special trip from home (5 hour drive) to bring our kids! So? we get here and walked up to the same counter. I got halfway through my sentence saying I'd like their most expensive ticket/card package and the girl grabbed a sign and dropped it in front of me. It said to use the kiosk for tickets. The last time we were
Great place. Lots of Japanese imports that I haven't seen in the US before. 4 or 5 different different air hockey tables, including a Pacman themed one with multiple pucks. All of the games use a credit-card-style gift card, which you load with credits. The price of the credits depends on how many you buy at once. Each game takes a numbers of credits, and possibly partial credits (ie 4.7 credits). The varying cost of credits and use of tenths of credits makes the cost of each game difficult to know. Not inh
Way better than the Round 1 location in Philly (located inside "The Gallery"). Plenty of games to go around. Open until 2 a.m. They also have a large selection of imported Japan arcades. That was cool to see. There are multiple air-hockey tables, bowling, and the classic crane machines.
Dewey was not present in the restroom to piss on me. I paid $3 for that and never got it. The table game is pretty fun though??
Went there for a company outing as we all work at a restaurant right down the street. The security guard Ben, deserves a raise. He was the only staff member there who went above and beyond. Communicated with us and apologized for the bar being closed (not his fault) which is one of the main reasons we were there.
It's ok super expensive and the tickets are not worth anything in the prize shop. Also everything takes forever to do when involving anyone
Had lots of fun bowling with the family. They have yummy food and even had kids bowling helpers and bumpers. There's a nice arcade as well and some pretty clean bathrooms. There is an elevator and ramp to get to the bowling area, so it makes it easy for wheelchairs and strollers to go! Very lovely place. Only downside is that it's a bit loud and hard to hear people.
Nice place. The games are fun. Good for kids 5 and up. The staff can't keep.up with the volume of people inside. Redeeming points for prizes was exhausting. The wait was so long we decided to leave and go eat somewhere else.
Very weird situation at round 1 this evening. Misplaced a jacket that had our car keys in it. We retraced steps looked all around my husband asked a female associate to check the ladies room as id been in there with our sons stroller. Nada. We went to the counter one final time to ask and could see piles of coats and sweatshirts in some kind of lost and found under the counter. two young ladies and a guy all insist over and over our jacket has not been found and they were just. Weird ..... So I said well it
Ben the bartender is absolutely amazing and super friendly ! He was constantly making sure we had drinks and good conversation!
Maine needs more places with entertainment other than bars. I love Bars but also need places with arcade games, pool, bowling, sports on Tv, food and beer. Also you can hang out longer than at restaurants and its Open til 2am! Arcade games are expensive but overall fun place.
Loved the music games, however some of the crane games don't even try to hide that they are simply payout based. One big yellow target cushion that you flawlessly (and easily) grab over and over, only to watch it drop every time until the secret payout window is hit isn't fun. Crane games should be rush and skill not swipe till the game decides you can win.
Cute Place! Lots of UFO Catchers and Arcade Games! Very clean and sanitary. The staff is VERY friendly. If you ask anyone to help you, or reset the machines they gladly do it. They are very busy commonly though. Otherwise everything else is lovely.
I look forward to coming to round one. (It's usually once a month) I have an amazing time with my husband and son and I specifically enjoy seeing Ray. They're a great bartender/server and very nice. I love round one thanks to the awesome staff! Thanks Ray! :)
Not the best experience the first five minutes here. We had one adult and 5 kids. Right away before we even started bowling one of the kids decided not to bowl I told staff right away I gave her shoes back right away she was taken off the board and they could not give me my money back! $4 for shoes whatever no biggie but for two games that's like $20 bucks! Staff was extremely rude. And I mean just straight rude. Then another cashier had to get involved and she was just nasty. Rude. The worst customer serv
Great place to take the kids/G kids when the weather is bad. Many games etc, food/beverages also
It was great my kids enjoyed themselves. Bathroom could be cleaner. Rides were fun for me kids and they loved the zip line one and dodge ball.
A complete scam. It's a casino for children except the odds are way worse than an actual casino. First of all you can't use money you have to buy credits which mislead you into thinking you are going to get a lot of play for say $20, but on average with the claw machine that gets you three tries, and it's not a game of skill. The game won't actually allow you to win until a certain amount of money is put in. If you are lucky it's only because some sucker before you spent $30 and got nothing. The staff occas
Took the family to Round 1 arcade and it was a blast! Lots of games and tons of fun. Always a good time here. The service at the counter was lacking though. The poor girl helping with tickets was incredibly slow at running us up, needed hero from the Manager several times and was starting of into space instead of being helpful. It seemed like she just didn't care about customer service or didn't want to be there. We went in on mother's day this past Sunday and she just had zero personality. I would've t
Absolutely perfect, but they took away the "nautical girl squirts" lol
My kids and I enjoy Round 1. We have had an air hockey rivalry for at least 10 years. From that they usually do some games while I play pinball. They have 5 and I try all. Then I play race games with the kids and after we sometimes do some bowling. Its a good time.
Awesome place, very clean! The cost for the credits is, in my opinion, way too overpriced. At these prices, I dont understand how they'd keep repeat customers. Everything there is quite pricey. If I make it out of there, with our six year old son, for under 50 bucks if we need to keep the cost down. If we bowl and arcade and food, we are looking at over 100. For me, that's a once every so often type of fun activity. Im not endowed with much cash, so we keep it to that, one in a while or maybe a birthday par
The selection of games is nice but this place is pricey. The crane prize games are a total ripoff so stay away from the games.
Great to see the flipping table game! We use to play it all the time when we were in Japan. Great stress reliever.
It's huge and mostly fun but you'll spend $100 on claw machines and not win anything for your child
Had a much better time than last year when I came up for a visit. The food selection has much more variety and everything is very clean and minus one game everything was in working order. Worth a trip with the family.
It's the best bowling and amusement place ever!
LOVE BRAYLEN HE'S AWESOME. Very cool guy. Very fast service. Very friendly. Hope to see him again. :)
COMPLETE JOKE!!!!! If I could leave a negative review I would. Managers all 3 lied countlessly to our face 1hr in 2hrs in and then at the end of our pre booked party. Not one of their stories matched. After calling their attention to the situation they all cowardly looked at one another and then threatened to call security. Security came up and we both laughed together as he said ?yeah they call us all the time for nonsense? I said sorry they wasted your time and he said ?it's all good they do this A lot?.
This place is super fun with a large variety of arcade games and prizes to get. The card system for the games is nice, so you don't have to carry money with you while playing. The prize store has a great selection of rewards to buy with your ?tickets? you get after playing games (these are stored on your game card that you purchase and you use them like a debit card). On the other hand, the snack shack is overpriced (2.60 for small soda??) and in my experience they often only have one or two staff readily a
Ray is a total ray of sunshine, she is beautiful and she's smiling because she knows she is beautiful. she also made me a strawberry daq, absolute g
We payed for an hour of bowling but the clock started ticking before we started bowling. (We decided to get beers first.) They also need to improve on the food. It also took a long time to get a beer. One of the pool tables had a rip on it. But no one was playing so we just used a different table. Overall not a bad experience. Love the fact they actually stay open late!!!!
Great place to go woth the family, or friends. The arcade games are kinda copy and paste at times, but cool if you know where to look. Bowling is really fun, as is pool and some other activities. Food is pretty good, not award winning but definitely worth the few bucks for their thick pizza!
I just have to say, Ray at Round One is absolutely amazing! I go there all the time with my friends, and he's always the highlight of our visit. First of all, Ray is such a good cook. Seriously, the food he makes is always on point. From the cheesy nachos to the perfectly cooked burgers, everything he serves is so delicious. You can tell he puts a lot of effort into making sure everything tastes great, and it really shows. One of the best things about Ray is how fast he refills drinks. Like, I barely finis
loads of fun, drinks are great but pricey, bowling is super fun and reasonably priced and games are cheap
This place is Great. They have good deals on parties for bowling, pool or karaoke and the boneless BBQ wings are the best I've had. Good time, cheap entertainment, decent alcohol selection. My only qualm that took a star away was the Nerf on the Pirates Hook game AKA "The Lobstah King". Thanks for the great service and friendly staff guys. Ps- please keep your bathrooms clean
Horrible service! The bartender clearly did not know how to make a Long Island. I explained to him that it tasted awful and that I would appreciate a replacement drink. I was very kind with him, and he was very rude to me stating that they don't give out free alcohol. I bartended for years and only has a few drinks sent back, and when I did I would definitely replace it without question, customer service is very important. Clearly, this place does not care for customer service. A Long Island is an easy dr
Quick visit to see whats it all about!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
