Customer Reviews

It's a fun place for the family. I go with my family and kids we all have a lot of fun. We always stay 2-3 hrs time goes by fast. There's pizza, other snacks, fountain drinks, and a small arcade. They have a nice bar for adults. I love this place. We do this once a month it's a nice place for a family reunion.

Another cool Round1 Bowling, pool, food, arcade, etc. Some of the claw machines are rigged but not all.

Hello Holly Clark, I love how you spent your time to write a false review about my friend. First of all, you chose to wait a very long time to get your lane because your group decided to wait to get Lane 1-2. There were plenty of available lanes for your group, but you wanted those two specifically. So yes, you had to wait. What were they supposed to do? Kick off the first group to make room for you? No. There was a lane assist up at the lanes the whole entire time your group was bowling and you were only m

One Star - Total Chaos We came for a 6-year-old?s birthday on a Tuesday night and it was a disaster from start to finish. It took over an hour to get our lane, and our group of 16+ people was moved four times, including in the middle of the game?and again for the last four minutes. Try explaining that to a group of little kids excited to bowl. It was frustrating, disorganized, and just plain ridiculous. To top it off, the manager, Abraham, an man child, inserted himself into a private conversation I was h

We went in for bowling and Karaoke night? we were having issues with the system and finally had assistance, the nice guy gave us additional time for the inconvenience? after we were done, they held our ID trying to make us pay for the additional time that THEY offered.. we spent almost $400 for just an outing, it wasn't even about the money? Juan kept saying he didn't know if the other guy said it.. didn't even try to confirm it. It was a terrible service experience?

It's pretty expensive for bowling and renting the shoes. And buying food there to eat. Some staff just look at you like you're going to do something bad even you're with your family and just just enjoying the day. Are the arcade games are expensive and to win tickets and prizes expensive? Especially if you have a big family or not, even that even one child.

Nice place to go bowling, and the Spark lanes are cool for the little ones. They also have a bunch of arcade games. But they have inconsistent pricing. While waiting in line, the screen displayed $52.95 per hour for the Spark lanes. When I got up to the counter, they then showed me a laminated pricing sheet with a price for the Spark lanes at $63 an hour, a $10 increase. I asked why there was a difference in the pricing. The person helping didn't know, so she went around asking the other employees. She

Going to Round1 in Salinas was such a fun idea, my friends and I had a blast! So many old-school and newer-style games to choose from to play, it was a first for me bowling on the second story of a mall. My little one wanted a stuffed toy but they wedge them in so well, good luck with that... you can have hours of fun here, just what my hometown needed, a safe place for families to go on the weekends! We will all be back.

???? Round1 Bowling & Amusement isn't just about games; they also offer a diverse selection of beers to enhance your experience! ????? From local craft brews to popular favorites, there's a beer for every taste. ???? So you can enjoy a cold one while showing off your bowling skills or dominating the arcade games. ??????? Cheers to a well-rounded entertainment destination! ????

I'm back in the area for a months-long trip and was looking forward to hitting the Salinas Round 1 up to play Dance Dance Revolution while I'm here, but for a week or so now the machine has been out of service. From what I was told, they are unable to get the machine fixed for an indeterminate amount of time because the piece needed to fix it is on back order, so it could be weeks, even longer, before it's taken care of. It's really disappointing to hear this. I remember when I was here 4 years or so ago w

Some of the games are money hungry, it's why it's so hard to play these damn kind of games... I feel disappointed after wasting all my tokens for just 1 prize that I want . What disappointing experience ....

It's awesome that their open till 2am. I wish the kitchen stayed open till at least 1:30am. It's a good time.

Place is great but pretty expensive! Staff and management not helpful. Definitely not customer service oriented

If I could give it zero stars I would. I went with my wife and I said hi to the guy in the food counter and the guy just looked at me ignored me and kept walking like he hates working there. Terrible service

I normally don't visit this establishment but tonight, I decided to get a beer with my wife. And the bar was almost empty of all alcohol drinks, they had some fruity beer. Not what I'm just to drinking, so I asked for the basic a bud light and not even that. So I left thirsty and disappointed kuz my wife and I rarely go out anymore.

Drinks, food, and games all overpriced. The club card is not attached to a number so make sure you dont forget it at home, otherwise no discount. If your doing the by time rentals make sure you start right away, otherwise you're cutting into your own time. Once they take your payment your time starts running. If i ever come back here i will ask for the billiards balls ahead of time, pay cash and run to my billiards table. That way no time will be taken away from what i am actually paying for First time com

So, I generally go to Round 1s to play rhythm games. For food and such, it is pricey, but the ice cream is good. Most machines are generally well maintained and the techs are pretty quick to respond to issues. Another thing is the AC. It's not that great, especially if you're playing DDR or Dance Rush. Either improve the AC or put a fan near those machines.

Good bowling experience. But bowling balls should also be for seniors who need 7 pound bowling ball with bigger finger holes in the bowling ball

Pretty epic, they got a lot of stuff for weebs (UFO catchers, imported fighting games, etc.) so take your nerdy gf/bfs there when ya can. It's a good time

Round 1 was very family oriented, safe and friendly for kids all ages from toddler to retirement. :) The food lines got a little busy but customer service was excellent. I would def hold another birthday party there. Good job round1.

Love my old south Salinas bowling better! This place is expensive! Our kids come for the arcade & to win prizes. Prizes are off the hook! Don't get me started on ordering an adult beverage! Bring your ID!

MANAGER is extremely rude! Made me stop my pool game and yelled at me about her employees mistake! When i explained to her what happened she just said I DONT CARE! Ive had TERRIBLE service here plenty of times! WILL continue to go BUT im going to give the BOWLING MANAGER a hard time!

Dor play, this was better than Dave and buster's. Food wise, wasn't the best.

We arrived around 6pm on a Friday. No line to get in. We got in line for the bowling and we were next. Three employees were standing in front of us at the register and none of the 3 acknowledged us for about 3 minutes, not even to let us know they would be right with us. Food: they were out of 2 flavors of icecream by 730pm and the fries with the seasoning you can add yourself was not enough to cover the fries and they were out of ranch. Also they only have 1 register for food; they need more registers. B

5 stars is only for Alfonso. He was the manager on duty. He helped reprint me my receipt meanwhile all other staff seemed uninterested. This was a work trip so my company was paying for it and he made sure he was able to help. Alfonso came in clutch, also low-key looks like Levi Ackerman. Everyone else there always just looks miserable tbh. Especially the tall long haired guy that looks like kylo ren.

Waited in line for 20min to reserve a bowling lane. Jacoi (cashier) took us out of the line to "help" us. It turns out he wasn't able to, so he sent us to another window. Once there, it turns out they JUST reserved the last lane to the customer that was behind us back in the line before Jacoi intervened. Now we have to wait another 40min. The manager David offered a whole $1 discount for the "inconvenience". Zero management skills whatsoever from the legend David, feel sorry for Jacoi now

Recently, they removed the ?DANCERUSH Stardom? machine; ONE of the only reasons I came to this arcade. I even purchased the card for it just for them to take it out. Management cannot be bothered to fix any of the machines if they have any problems, so they give it to a different location. Should also put an air conditioner or fan next to ANY of the dance games in general. Overall, they don't have as many games as they used to. Can't wait for Dave and Busters to open!

David the manager and the whole Round 1 staff was super helpful and nice! It's fair to say they go above and beyond to making sure people have an enjoyable time!

Employees never around to help you with inoperative machines and lanes. Tried to play other games, but most of tl the games were off or unplugged. Not one pinball game available.

Great experience, Antonio was awesome. Very professional. He helped us out with celebrating our daughter's 15th birthday party. We will definitely return to round 1 Thank you!!!

If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. They are super racist especially the manager who we've had previous incidents with. I did not get his name but he is african american. It almost seems as if he doesn't train his workers as they are very inexperienced. In this occasion my husband who just came from mexico and I went for a beer in the bar area. We waited 30 minutes for a beer with no line because the ?bartender? didn't know how to pour a beer. After waiting for so long, they prohibited to se

Went here on a Wednesday afternoon. They were doing a major remodel and there were a lot of new machines being installed and there were a lot offline too. That being said....STILL a great time! The Time Play is an amazing deal if you like racing games and shooting games. The paid games reload bonuses were worth it. They had more claw machines than I've ever seen in one place; and when the new ones are online, there will be even more! Good balance of ticket games and arcade games. Just a heads up for pare

Alwaysss so much fun and great new memories (:

Something for everyone. Great place for a date, or just going out with the kids.

Out of Pizza, out of ice cream, bumpers on our lane (lane 2) are broken, escalators broken, AC not working. I think they should not have rushed to open before they had things figured out

Absolutely not worth it. Not only were the staff unfriendly, but the karaoke room was disgustingly dirty ? we had to clean it *ourselves*, dealing with dirty dishes, spilled beverages, and a soda-soaked couch. The AC was broken, making the room unbearably hot with bad air quality. Sound quality? Terrible. Song selection? Limited. To top it off, their system overcharged us for 12 people when we were only 8, and they refused a refund or any discount because of their prepayment policy.

So much fun for all age who wanna have crazy day.

I went in the day and was pleasantly surprised of the cleanliness the food in libations courts were not overpriced. You could even get an ice cream cone for a dollar!! The games appeared amusing in the bowling alley was kid friendly and of pretty good quality. The prizes for the games appeared to be of quality.

Amazing place to hang out or bring your kids, it has various games and stuff to do, the food is good. Will definitely go again!

61st birthday party for bro-in-law. 1st time i have been there?.a good time had by all! it did take a while to get food and beverage but they only had 3 people working food counter and bar(hint hint kids, i bet they are hiring ??

Fun place to hang out and eat yummy fried food ??

A good arcade I wish they had taiko no tatsujin!

Great atmosphere! Drink specials are great!!

Great place to take your family especially the kids

The Arcade is a great place to bring your kids?. On the other hand the bar rules make no sense my friend was unable to get a drink just because her id was not a California or state id even though it was issued by the government they excluded her for being able to drink. I feel like it was discrimination against people with Daca! The bartender was very unfriendly

Visited this location many times before but yesterday made me lose interest in ever going again. Not worth the time and hassle especially after renting out a karaoke room for an hour and the microphone died 3 songs in. They weren't serving drinks OR food all day for some reason and didn't explain to us why. They didn't even know why. Half of their claw machines were out of service and on top of that the manager blames my brother and daughter for messing with the setup in the karaoke room, which she thinks w

Somethin is off. Their management really needs to be switched up like they really need to hire people that actually care about the success of the business. Too many things are dirty, staff is rude. CEO needs to let everyone go and start fresh.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Because it was a SCAM. There was honestly good variety of games to play but the duration of each game lasted on average 30 seconds. The longest lasted a minute and a half (I timed it). I loaded 44 dollars for 250 credits and it lasted less than 30 minutes. Unbelievable, don't come here unless you want to waste your money. Also it was hot AF in there.

I came in to see about reserving a space for a party of 40+ people. Mostly adults with about 6 children. The plan was to have something to eat, then spend about 4 hours playing games and having fun. After seeing the food available, I asked if we could have something catered in the party room. I was told no. My budget for just game cards was $6,500. After talking with them we have decided to move our gathering. Too bad Salinas doesn't have a place that can accept corporate groups with a more adult meal sele

Round one is great place to hang out with friends if you're willing to spend a hefty buck. The major problem with this round one is that it's always very hot or humid on the second floor so it's not very enjoyable to stay long in there dress light!

Great place for entertainment and relaxing, great food and drinks,

Pure enjoyment for kids and family!

F for food management? who ever does the ordering needs to be fired!!! This place NEVER HAS CONDIMENTS! Its always out of 1 of something? 1 week ranch 1 week no ranch 1 week mayo 1 week no mayo 1 week out of ketchup 1 week out of ketchup?. We literally bring our own packages lol

Great experience foe the gaming fanatic - no gambling - but the bowling, pool yard and ample amounts of video games, keeps it interesting for hours. Lots of prizes for the claw activities! Prize center has lots to choose from. Expect to spend some coin, but the family entertainment is priceless!

First off before I even make my review let me state that I was the only customer that was in this facility as soon as they opened. With that being said I go to use the restroom before I paid for my bowling and the men's toilets were all covered with fecal matter. The toilet paper holders and walls covered in fecal matter. So I stepped over to the women's bathroom and hollered to see if anyone was in there which there wasn't with me being the only person in the facility and I hurried up and used the toilet a

Me, my husband and my son had fun here. It was our first time visiting this place. They have a snack bar and alcohol drinks bar. I love their takoyaki. This is a great place to hang out for the family.

First time coming here the place is nice and clean. Staff were very helpful.

Awesome prizes and cool place to be with friends!

Their acarde is big and has a lot of game. The majority of the floor is arcade to me. It gets pretty packed during the weekend during the evening. They have been having security check people coming in after 10pm which is when the no unsupervised children time starts. Arcade: The prices are reasonable to load your arcade card but the games are expensive. The majority of the games are like 10 to 15 credits to play. Loading a card with $40 for two would only get you about 20mins of playing time on traditional

It was our first time going..we were alittle confused on how to redeem card for prizes..no one explained it to 2 old grandparents ?? but iur grandson had lots of fun

It was okay, little it higher cost than most other arcades, meaning you're paying 2.50 - 3.00 for pushers (usually the higher pay out arcade games). A good percentage of the machines were down, especially only the little kid side. Also, a "game mechanic" wasn't available for us to get refunded on one that started but didn't give the bowling ball. Floor attendant said to go to the front desk and ask for a refund. That's great and all but the counter had a decent line for a Thursday.

TAKE YOUR COMMUNISMBACK TO WHERE IT BELONGS. MI NOVIA AND I ARE CURRENTLY AT THE MALL. IM ASLEEP IN OUR TRUCK WITH THE VISORS UP AND MY LADY IS SPENDING $$$$ AT THE MALL. SECURITY DRIVES UP TO ME HONKS AT ME TELLS ME TO LEAVE AND THAT NOONE CAN HAVE UP WINDOW VISORS. I CURRENTLY HOLD A CHILD MEMBERSHIP AT ROUND ONE FOR OUR CHILD AND DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE I RECEIVE HERE WILL DECIDE WEATHER I TAKE THE COMMENT DOWN KEEP THE MEMBER SHIP OR NOT!

Good bowling experience although there are annoying "mini games" they do which are kinda mood killers. Makes you feel pressured to work with other random people for no reason just let me bowl.

Great place for the kids to have fun and enjoy, my only issue was they only had 1 staff member on the floor doing everything from tickets, prizes, and helping on the floor. Shout out to her for her working hard

The cleaning lady is just not considerate of children or adults with a disability, also, the lady has the men's restroom closed since opening time, went and she locked the family restroom and both restroom are closed due to cleaning, did take a picture for proof.

We always have a great time here. Bowling or just playing arcade games, the kids have fun. I love the food and ice cream choices but my favorite part of Round 1 is the bar! The employees walk around cleaning constantly! Even the bathrooms are very clean.

Good prices on beer, only place with linking Ultra Street Fighter 4 cabinets so I'm there.

It's not bad for something to do when your bored and it's kinda later at night and everything else is probably closed then this is your best option if your not trying to get into any trouble or getting drunk at some bar. There is a billiards spot inside with I think 4 tables they are the big 8ft style nit your normal bar tables, there is also a bowling alley inside as well thar has blacklight bowling on certain nights which I can not comment on how the lanes are or the balls because I've not had the opportu

Food sucks so bad my pizza was cold. There was no dipping sauces to go with the buffalo wings which were dry. The bar area is a mess huge line to get one beer. The games are the only fun thing so if you come to drink and eat this is definitely not the place is the worse.

A good time!! The prizes are neat and, as long as you're open to not winning every time you play a game, its good fun! Not to mention that the Claw games are actually winnable and aren't entirely rigged to never be beat!

Second time comming to this establishment and have had both negative experiences. Employees are not well trained and have little to no experience with customer service. Employees seem clueless with their occupation. One instance I had is with an employee named Ruby. I had to confirm with her four times that I just wanted two ice cream cones with one scoop. She was trying to multi task by talking to her manger about her getting her break and her asking me what I wanted again. It was so frustrating because

Way too long to sit here in write after much wasted time with going back and forth with ?acting? manager. Bottom line is this business needs to close down if the owner condones his manger/ employees behavior, lack of customer service and no public relation skills at all. Regret spending money at this place and to be honest all these bad reviews, this now is a better business bureau level complaint from me, as for all of you it should be too, businesses are supposed to be about customer service, but without

This place is great!! It has a ton of fantastic arcade games, billiards, karaoke rooms, party rooms, a bowling alley, burgers, pizza, and appetizers, and it looked like they sell beer and wine! The staff is polite and attentive, which is scarce in Salinas. The games all worked and it was clean inside. This is a fun addition to Salinas. Let's hope you keep up the great work and also keep the riff raff out.

First time visit and our 6 year old and my hubby and myself had a really good time. My only complaint is that the amount of tickets it takes to get a decent prize is ridiculous. Aside from that we had a good time. Will definitely be back.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had a plushie stuck and there was no way to get it anymore since it got stuck on its way down. We called someone to see if they could get it and they said no. We asked to see manager and he was SO RUDE. We asked if he could show us that it's possible to get it with just the machine since that's what they kept saying but the manager just kept saying ?I don't have to show you anything. I designed the game so I know how it works? like sir if your so sure why not prove it. He start

It was super fun there! The games are cleaned up, just swipe the card and you can start the game really easily just how it used to be before COVID. The escalator is closed off but the elevator and the stairs are free to use which is really great! Totally recommend for a cool hang out place for high schoolers who just wanna have fun and play video games like I did.??????

This was a third stop of my trip of Bay area round ones. The only one I was ever frisked at and belittled by their rental security just for wanting to come in. Don't plan on using the escalator, walk your happy hindquarters up! Upon entering this one was the only arcade to be fully operational with figurine games, you can pick any figurine. We decided to use what credits we had left on our card, only to find out they were on a different system. So I'm at 3 strikes and I haven't even got to play a game. Wh

They need to get a new Punching Machine because it consistently breaks & is shut down for several days only to get shut back down it also doesn't show the correct numbers probably because it's always out of order... Please get a new one or have too of them please that's why I'm giving it 2 stars!!

This place was really nice. Likely because it is a newer establishment. The shoes were in great condition, the balls and the lanes are as well. The lanes did seem to have a surplus of oil on them. Could barely get the ball to hook and the balls came back with a hefty layer of oil on them. A pretty extensive arcade with a large variety of games. Would like to go back soon!

Get ready to spend some money. The best part is the 99-cent ice cream. The bar is ok The food was decent, and the game is pricey.

We've had a great experience in the past. But this most recent time we had the worst experience. We went to go bowling and play games. Immediately when we showed up, before anything else was said, the employees stated no outside drinks were allowed. Where there was no clear signage stating that before walking all the was to the counter, which is quite far, especially with two little ones (upstairs and at least 100 feet). After asking to pay for bowling and games. They said we had to pay at two different loc

they really kicked me out of the bathroom stall cause I had my little sister in with me what the hell is wrong with them that I can't have my little sister with me!!!! This place is a joke !! The manager is unprofessional snobby speaks so ratchet why and how is someone like her a manager corporate needs to look into who they hired and get rid of her she seems to hate her job walking around angry all the time

Awesome place, great games for some hours of fun.

Customer service was horrible here. I went in to play pool and for them to give you a table and equipment to play they take your ID and give it back when done. After playing for 1 hour I went to return their equipment and retrieve my ID, but they had given it to someone else and had no way of contacting the person. They didn't report it to security even though they're security sees everyone that comes and out. I was speaking to the bowling supervisor to try and figure something out but she couldn't give me

My family arrived and noticed that there was plenty of signage that indicated, "No Outside Food Allowed." Our family purchased a 90 min play time and went to the food area to purchase our food. While we were playing a security guard, who I was later informed was not part of Round1 staff, approached me and informed me that there was no food or drinks allowed in the bowling area and directed me to the signage. I informed the individual that I was not informed that I would be unable to enjoy my food at the la

1st time there and had a good time. Just bowled but kids had a great time!

This place had horrible customer service. They failed to be attentive in the bowling ally especially when we needed help because the balls would get stuck. We got one warning for trying to get the ball out. We were just starting the second game when we threw a ball and then the sweeper went down. That was enough for them to end our game, kick us out, and not give us a refund. When we attempted yo reason with them and let them know it was an accident they were dismissive and rude. We asked for their names s

To be honest. I don't like the manager and he's rude. My family are enjoying playing bowling and also we are taking selfies. The manager came to our spot and stop our picture taking. I don't know what his problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
