Round1 Bowling & Arcade Gurnee Mills

Round1 Bowling & Arcade Gurnee Mills

Reviews Summary

Round1 receives mixed reviews, with many praising its variety of games, fun atmosphere, and helpful staff, particularly for claw machines and birthday parties. However, frequent complaints highlight rigged claw machines, poor customer service, unhelpful management, and overpriced games/food. Issues with broken equipment, long waits, and strict policies (e.g., water access, kid zones) frustrate guests. While some visitors enjoy the arcade’s offerings and return, others leave disappointed due to inconsistent experiences and perceived unfair practices.

Customer Reviews

We went to Round1 and it was super fun! They had my favorite games like House of the Dead, Fast and Furious, Marvel VS Capcom 2 and Mario Kart. They also have tons of Japanese arcade games that was a plus and they had very good prizes for the crane machines. I won a lot of things from the crane machines. The Staff was super friendly to me. Overall this Arcade place is tons of fun and we will be definitely be coming back. 5 out of 5

I must say that this is definitely something the mall has needed for quite some time now, the ultimate gaming experience and fun for all. Seems to be the beginning of a revamping of the Mills, not that the mall is dead like Hawthorn until their 2.0 project is finished but I'm actually glad for this addition. I pretty much only come here for my boys who are 4 and 9 going on 10 soon. Oodles of arcade games, fair-type games, prize machines, air hockey, bowling lanes, billiards, bar/snack bar with pricy beer

We had no idea that it was adults only (over 21) after a certain time, so it was very cool! We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! My friend & I went bowling, just for a fun night out. We had to have our ID's & purses checked, but that was no big deal. It is a little bit pricey, I definitely don't think it needs to be &8 per person, per game of bowling. But it is what it is. No one else was on the lanes, it was super fun, very clean, food was decent, we had a great time, & are definitely planning

This has been our favorite R1 so far, we've gone to at least a dozen different locations. We stayed all day & dropped $600 this visit! The crane machines didn't feel anywhere near as rigged as others have, we left with our trunk stuffed with prizes. ????

Place was kind of buns claw machine wise. They have a lot but it looked there stock was barely moving which means not a lot of wins. The one staff member that helped me was a chill guy tho so he made it slightly better. Payout even on the chibi claws were kinda high for small stuff. Also they charge tax on reloading the cards?? Never had that experience at the other locations. I don't think I'll go back. Aurora is better anyways.

This review is only for restaurant they have in their facility. Just don't order Ramen. This was my worst ramen I had in my life. First of all, picture they show as ramen is scam. No chasu, bamboo shoot(Menma), scallions and the soup is not hot enough. Because it's not hot enough, noodles are stuck together and not separate. Probably not cooked properly at all. Original distributor of this ramen is Myoji and their ramen is good if cooked properly. Anyway don't eat this ramen. If you want to eat ramen get cu

Pls like and follow my review. It is inside the mall. It is good enough size. 50 % are claw machine. I would say 50% chance for you to win from claw machine. Mall has good enough parking. Timings are good. Customer service is ok. Price is super expensive, prize is peanuts, unless you win from claw machine. They have restaurant and pool tables inside. Other activity/games as well. Almost all games were in working condition except couple.

Horrible hospitality. The Yellow gards need to learn the basic of human communication and be more approachable having in mind that we went with kids. With attitude they need to ?keep safe? some other places. Not a surprise of the low rating here.

So much fun! Wide variety of games with higher ticket or plush odds than I usually see at these arcades. Haven't tried to bowling yet, but some friends played and said it was excellent

First time here last night with coworkers. We went after 11pm where it was ?adults only? and kids were allowed if they have a chaperone over the age of 25. We did not do the bowling side of the facility but did play pool. Would have given a 5 star review but there were some things that didn't really sit right with me. Playing pool was $15.00 An hour, other places in the area are a lot cheaper than that?.but I get it. Premium facility premium prices. Sure. Secondly the game costs were between 9.0 to like 1

This is a pretty nice place but my one real complaint is the kid?s zone. When we first arrived, we ordered lunch and I got a beer with my food. Because I bought the beer, they put a 21+ wristband on me so they wouldn't have to ID me if I bought another. Later, when we tried to go into the kid?s zone (i was with my husband + our two sons), they would not allow me in. They said it was because i had a 21+ wristband on me and alcohol isn't allowed in the kid?s zone. I asked them if I could just take my wristban

Review Update - I originally really liked this place but yikes, my last visit was not great. The Karaoke room was spacious, but the system kept messing up. The staff was nice, but it took a lot to get their attention for help or order, plus the $4 cup for tap water was a fun touch. I also feel incredibly bad for the single person they had working both register and the kitchen - the wait for food was 30min+.

Okay... so I have VERY mixed feelings about this place. It is very bright and flashy ... but extremely pricy. We played multiple games, and most of the games are a rip-off compared to other arcades. Games that normally will give you 2 or 3 tries give you only 1. The average game costs 11 credits, so your money runs out very fast. Their claw machines are a complete scam. We had grabbed multiple prizes from different claw machines, and they are rigged to twist and drop every time. It's very disappointing, to

The play area is nice my kids like it but the fact that babies 0-11 months have to pay to play in a small area and parents can't go in there with them is not worth it if they cant walk or crawl on their own. The price is pricey depend on age and how long you play. + $3 socks

I was there a few weeks ago and it was an amazing place to spend time with my Baby Sister! I will say this is probably the worst place to lose your cell phone and that's what I did. Luckily, someone returned it and the staff there was able to give it to me!!! Amazing the honesty about it all! I am lucky because as a visiting Texan I was impressed by this! The next time I visit definitely going back with the little Sister!

Ok first time, the place looks cool a lot of games, lot of claw machine's, bowling, area for kids, billiard, Karaoke, restaurant( Fast food) and a bar, was good but overpriced. 9 to 14 credits for claw machine's, and almost every game who give you tickets is 12 credits. The issue I have is 2 machines broke when I was playing in one someone try to help me but he can't so I have to wait almost 20 min to someone come and help with my issue the second time the guys was turning off and on the machine was annoyin

Honestly the kids play zone is super fun for the kids, but the two employees at the play zone desk were so rude and obnoxious.they take their jobs a little too seriously to the point where it's just annoying. Watching over our shoulders, mind you we're grown adults watching our kids every moves, they sit together and talk about us and watch us.on top of it, my 3 year old when to play in the little kid section and the African American young girl says he can only play on the ground, not on top.. like what? Wh

I don't understand what's with all the negative reviews of this location. I've had a very positive experience here. The staff here has been nothing but helpful and friendly towards me during my first time visiting. First, when I was having trouble with purchasing a $55 game card (the kiosks were not accepting my debit card), the man at the guest counter was very patient when the chip on my debit card kept coming up as an error. He did not give up on me when I wanted a game card and he suggested ways for me

my family and I joined the waitlist for bowling and told 30 minutes. after over an hour we had gotten a message that we could bowl. there was a group of people in front of us in line who just walked up and bought a game of bowling and was given a lane. when i talked to a manger i was told there was nothing they could do even tho there was a waitlist for people bowling. very ignorant manger and very ignorant staff about the entire situation.

We spent about $110 on claw machines and got 1 big stuffed animal and 2 small ones. The setting is a lot harder at this location. Facility looks new and staff is untrained.after spending $30 on a machine, we asked for help to reposition which is standard practice at Japanese claw machine places. Upon asking, the staff told us to try to push it down, when it's already clearly stuck. I saw many machines with the wrong tip, so you def won't win following their recommended places to poke or pick up. Some machin

the claw machines here are rigged AF!! I literally did every single method. Any time the plush would reach the top, the claw would drop it. Not to mention that it costs 2 dollars for a try on a big plush that costs no more than $20

A fun afternoon out with the kids! The weather was not so nice and we were looking for an activity. Someone mentioned that this would be a good option and I am glad they did! Give it a try if you are looking for an indoor activity for the family!

Very interesting indeed open late if you need something to do open till 2 AM. They have bowling, they have billiards, they have arcade games. The place is humongous! It was very nice and clean when we stopped.

I have never seen an arcade so big with tons of video games just amazing made me feel like a kid again. The place is so cool lots of flashing lights and cool claw machines with op prizes. The wings are really good and cooked perfectly. Only reason for 4 star they didn't had wing sauces. Great place to pass time.

The claw machines are fun but a bit pricey not going to lie some of them don't even clamp onto the plushie all the way but but they are cute wish there were pusheen plushies I would use my whole entire pay check if they had them I don't care fun arcade though

Attention Attention everyone: this place suck!!! The food is terrible and the prices are high. But the worst of all is that they don't give you cups for free water. This is a joke, right!!! Well, let me tell you, they don't offer pitcher of water, and they sure in the hell don't give it if you ask for it. All they can say is there's a water fountain by the restroom. And I said I don't eat by the restroom or should I bring the fountain to me at the table. Chuck e cheese even brings you a pitcher of water if

Big fan of this location. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. I wish I caught her name, but there was one staff that re positioned one of the stuffed animals for my daughter to get relatively easily. The claw machines are payout based, but it's pretty easy to tell when they're ready or winnable. We usually come home with a good handful of stuffed animals. They're all high quality and well worth it. The games are great too. Most of the skill games can net out around 100-200 tickets, and some li

It's okay, but pretty expensive for some lackluster games. Staff was rude. They even sent security on my boyfriend asking for his ID when he had a 21+ wristband on and all he was doing was waiting for me to come back out of the bathroom? Spent $24 for 1 hr game passes just to be able to play 10 games? wanted to give this a try but unfortunately ruined our night with staff and lack of games. We will be continuing to support Kristoffs :)

Great place to play claw machines, video games. Bowling, big jungle gym and a few VR games. Food is good. Entrance outside and inside the mall. Plenty of parking.

After going over the rules and paying $25.00 for my 3-year-old son to play in the KIDS ZONE the "manager" Dimitri told me the play area is for children only. I advised Dimitri that I lost sight of my 3-year-old son and was looking for him. I NEVER left the ground floor. (The design of the KIDS ZONE is 3 stories tall making some areas impossible to view the child.) I entered the first floor entry level to look around the slide to see if I could find my 3 year old son. Dimitri told me the play area is only f

Do not come here. It is so expensive and the games are so expensive ($3/12 credits) per game! And they are all set to lose. The claw games do not win, the other games mess up every card swipe. This place is just terrible and priced deceptively. Stay away and go to Peoples Choice instead.

$50 for 5 minutes. A large selection of the space is set up for claw machines and the prizes are winnable but it just goes by too fast. We drove about 40 minutes to get here and left after only 5. I wouldn't go back. The stuffed animals are really cute and all it's just too little time for the money spent. Usually with places like this you're paying to be entertained as well. It's not just the prizes but the fun you have while trying to get them.

I want everyone to know that this place is not the place to be for anyone including your pet if they were allowed. This place don't offer pitcher of water or cups for water unless you are sitting at the bar. This place have activities that require you to be hydrated while there and they don't give water something have to change. Water is a need for the body and it should be accessible at hand. No one should have to walk to a water fountain to get water if sitting at their table eating their food, playing a

Kriss the manager in this place is sucks the worst customer service I ever experienced every body was trying to help us ( the workers) they even went to get her for help after seeing the situation Jamal showed her the problem but even after that she was so disrespectful after seeing the machine wasn't working her answer was it's not about the skills in the game is about how much money the game collects is our policy .we spent 138 points in this game but it wasn't enough it's not fair for the kids. I'm sure

I take my kids here every chance I get and they love it. And the ice cream comes are 99 cents. We will definitely be back for sure.

The venue looks fun and bright. The customer service was mediocre. They are very unorganized. The food service was incredibly disappointing. The kiosks didn't work. It took forever to get somebody to take our order and 2/3rds of the menu was not available. They were out of soda and some menu items featured online supposedly they have never offered. The food we got tasted good, but not willing to return anytime soon. To top it off, kids were getting bags for the cheap prizes they got but they REFUSED to giv

Round 1 has many good games. Cards are $2 plus any amount you wish to add to play. I would say it is quite expensive, and there is no reason why kids' games should be 12.0 credits. Won't even make enough points for the price store I tell you that!

The claw machines are horrible. They have like a 1 in 100 chance of actually having any strength to pick up a plushie. It's honestly a scam.

My review is about round1?s ?all inclusive? party package. First of all, it is not and I will repeat all in caps for the emphasis, **NOT** All inclusive as they suggest. And that they suggest that it is open them for liable, we could not do 3/4 of the things inside of round1 during our package. The first thing that is misleading is bowling, you only get an hour no matter how long of a party you book. In the catalog description for the all-inclusive party it states you get one hour of billiards and ping-po

Horrible experience here. The manager was so rude and so unhelpful. Unprofessional. They claim it is a kids zone but don't cater to kids. They are unreasonably priced. They don't let you play with your children but expect you to supervise when they are all the way up. Very very ridiculous, rip off place

Clean and everything is new. It is pricey And some if the staff are rude

The place is awesome the claw machines are easy to win. The food was good. We had a great time.

We received pretty much non-existent service at my daughter's birthday party here. Except for dropping off pizzas at the beginning, no one checked on us throughout the two hours. Nobody offered or mentioned refills on the beverages, and we had to go and find a carry-out box for leftovers on our own at the end. No one mentioned the group photo that was apparently included -- not until we went to check out after the party and all the kids were gone. As it was, there seems to be no value in hosting the party

Management needs to chill on programming the cranes so weak. At opening, it was fun and we won a reasonable amount, but lately it's very very difficult. Today I spent $70 and we won only two small dolls. While we were playing, I watched one employee programming a machine to barely lift the doll, took him like 10-15 minutes to dial it in perfectly, pretty much guaranteeing multiple plays to move the thing. Other employees patrol around and reset dolls that have been moved to the edge. Pretty insane to watch,

HORRIBLE. So dirty, pricey, and don't forget your card at home because if you have Apple Pay you have to walk all the way over to another section of the building and wait in an even longer line just to pay for the indoor play gym, and the staff is rude over there. And when you get into the inside the play gym it's disgusting and dirty. So 22 dollars a kid is insane. I hope this company lowers their prices & stops being so greedy.

Place is cool but games are usually out of order. Pool tables are expensive, charging $14 per hour when you can go somewhere else for half the price. The claw machines are too expensive per play. Not worth spending your money on. The other games can be fun tho. Look, no arcade is perfect, atleast not this one. There's a solid reason this place ain't got 4 stars or above. It can always improve. But the question is, will it? Time shall tell.

Do not get their food. Spent $700 at this place and got a 6 piece chicken wing disgustingly drenched in BBQ sauce that they would not exchange because ?they are not a Michelin star restaurant?-Hildeberto - manager. Not sure what this guy is going through but there was zero customer service. He barked at me in a whiny voice and was very combative and unhelpful. I have never seen a manager act like this in my life.

Do not come here. Claw machines are absolutely rigged, and you can sink $50 on the machine for them to keep dropping or not even pick up the item. Maybe they will stop trying to rip off patrons if people stop coming.

BIRTHDAY PARTY Booked the Gamer Gold package online. They called to confirm, asked my preference on color, theme, pizza and drink flavors. I book a place so I don't have to do it all at home with a winter birthday. Got there 30 minutes early to check in and be ready to greet my guests and they greeted me with telling me I'm way too early and they haven't set up yet. She read the party agreement IN FULL WHILE STANDING AT THE COUNTER out loud while I'm holding favors and cupcakes. Then asked to finish paying

Really fantastic as a place for late night people. But they need more people working the food section. Our order was "thrown away" because we didn't hear them call our number but it was a lost order as the Associate didn't even get it right after we handed them our receipt... please get more people working in this section as this place is nearly perfect, but I'm Hangry.

Knocking 1 start for price. It's too expensive. Bowling is good, we had fun. There was an issue with the bumpers and the staff was very responsive to correct. Arcade is fun but again too expensive.

The kids' zone was great for the kids. Arcade was at a fair price. Draft beer was cold and worth going again with the family.

Update: an employee creeped my sister out. He was 16-18 asking for my 14 yr old sister's insta. Even if he didnt know she was 14 thats still creepy af (Originally posted 7/8/24; fixed spelling) It was alright. Loved the games and variety of activities. I asked about the karaoke room and how much it was but the girl told me in such a rude tone that there was actually a wait on it and i had to give her my info for a waitlist. That i didnt mind cuz it what you do when u get on a waitlist for something. She s

The most claw games I've seen in one area.

Do not waste your valuable time or money. Our family visited for a special milestone birthday party today and we had THE worst experience. Arrived and started bowling. We started to get thirsty and asked the person at the counter (Alex) how we order drinks. Alex couldn't care less and just informed us that the kitchen doesn't open til later. No offer for alternatives, no apology, nothing. We ended up leaving our party to go walk into the mall to find a bottle of water. Come to find out on our way back, th

Been here a few times now, people are always amazing and super helpful. Love the machines, and always walk out with arms filled with stuffies!! Tried out the bar for the first time tonight and MeMe was wonderful, cannot wait to go again :)

went here with my girlfriend and spent $85 and 1 hr at the claw machines and all I got is this barely 3 inch toy :( I used to come here all the time and would win a bunch of full sized plushes but corporate greed has won and all of these machines are on the weakest settings and the employees make sure they stay that way by adjusting them constantly. it's been like this the past few years regardless of location but this one is the absolute worst if you're trying to win claw games. Spending money on entertain

They kicked us out because my ID was expired? after I already purchased a game card and I could not a refund. Very disappointed. ?? Won't be coming back here again. L.

I recently hosted my son?s birthday party at Round One in Gurnee Mills Mall, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. Despite calling earlier in the week to confirm everything and provide a final headcount, it was clear upon arrival that the staff had no idea about our booking. The setup began right as our guests started arriving, with the tables still being set up as people walked in. When I asked for the game cards that were included in the package, they weren't ready. It too

Most rigged claws ever you can put in $70 and not get payout one time. But if you want to win something small and stupid it's easy any claw with a real prize drops every one

10/10 i love the workers especially Alex he was so chill and cool he helped me out a lot i also saw a rude comment about him here and let me tell you he is the coolest guy you will ever meet not even rude or nothing!

Very bad service, today I took my 5 year old girl to have a good time and she asked me if I would buy her some potatoes, they charged me and told me that they were not going to take long that they were just finishing heating the oil, more than 20 minutes passed and they didn't tell me anything, I went to the register and told them that they had already taken a long time, and it was better that they return the money to me, they told me that they were going to talk to the manager and there was another person

Would not let me play as I want 18. What stupid acarde doesn't let kids play and requires you to be 18.

Love the karaoke room! So much fun. Overpriced drinks though with barely any alcohol in it. They move so slow too.

I'm impressed again with this location for both my son and daughters birthday party.Unlimited play was worth it for 10$ and food is super good.I really don't know why people don't like this place like what? It is super fun here and why report this place to the health department for only a minor issue like I really don't know why and I know the prices can be overwhelming but overall this place is a good place to go to so to people who don't like this place I really don't know why you have to put this place a

It a good place and fun but the bad thing is that the cards run out fast and the lines are to long and you don't even get tickets also the machines are hard and that cost all at for the car 20.00 for the machine to much

Tried taking our kids to the kid zone in Round1 but only walked away after it became too difficult. The lady with the blue hair was very unhelpful. We had our 4, 12 and 17 year old kids with us. Only the younger 2 were going to play so I filled out and signed a waiver for them. We were told we had to pay for my oldest too even though she wasnt playing, so we said ok and I so I filled out a waiver for her. Well apparently neither waiver was valid even though I have two different confirmation emails showing w

Booked a party for my 10 year old. At the time of booking it was made clear that my party would include, food, drinks, game play with tickets. On the day of the party I show up with kids and parents. Round 1 had nothing set up and seemed surprised by our arrival. I'm. Now 40 minutes into the 2 hours that we had books and all I've done is argue with the employees. The kids are standing around with nothing to do. I have the parents of my guests watching their own kids as I argue with management. Not sure

Biggest waste of money Spent $60 on a card Cause it was the "best value" Use It's on some of the claw machines they make it to where the machines purposely drop it Or if they know, a machine is close to giving out a prize They purposely reset it to where it starts over go spend your money elsewhere that's not a big scam

DO NOT BOOK A PARTY HERE!!!!!!! Waste of MONEY! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! Very expensive for terrible service and a "host" with an attitude. Had a party of 25. Paid for unlimited drinks and food. Only got 3 pizzas, a tray of wings, 3 pitchers of soda, and a host who never returned to service the party! One of the guests heard the "host" respond "what do they want now?!". I went to the service desk to ask for more drinks, and as I approached, the "host" rolled her eyes and started walking away. One of the emplo

Ridiculously strict about everything. They will not give you a cup for water, you have to buy bottled water. They will not make you a mixed drink unless it's on the menu, even if you tell them the ingredients. The food was disgusting.

Very, very, very overpriced. Watched a colleague spend 60 bucks on claw machines and despite 400 something points and 20 something attempts where it picked up the stuffed bat every time the claw always opened and dropped it.

I love this place! I've gone to this place over the last few months and I've enjoyed every moment being there. Food is delicious, bowling is fun as always, I don't know about the claw machines tho. Very loose and sometimes takes a lot of credits to get at least 1 plushie. Spent about 400+ credits and got only a few plushies (even tho I'm pretty good at claw machines). As for the employees, Karen was the definitely my favorite. She was patient with teaching me everything here and overall empathetic; a very n

I have been to multiple round 1s and this is one of the worst. The games aren't set up correctly and the manager that stepped right out of 1985 had no resolution to our complaints. We stood around for about 20 minutes while she read the manual on the game. Lots of employees standing around but aren't helpful. We stood for another 10 minutes waiting to cash out our tickets while multiple employees glanced at us but continued to talk amongst themselves. The claw machines pay out fine if you know how to play t

Too many payout games. Let's put some skill back into the arcades. It's no fun spending $100 hoping a claw will hit payout.

It was a cool and well kept place but it was insanely priced. One game of bowling for 8 people ran us more than $200. We ended up refunding it in the end and the rest of the arcade kept up with the trend. But we did enjoy the experiences we had it just wasn't worth what they were charging.

Waited 15 minuted for 2 small ice creams. They had no line when we ordered and then they had a long line by the 10 min mark. Theyre not allowed to give refunds on the ice cream i never recieved

Fair prices, extremely busy on weekends. Fun place. After 10pm, it's 18+, which is nice, and after 12, it's 21+.

Alex the manager was a phenomenal help with pricing and understanding how the arcade works. Thank you so much Alex you were amazing!!

2/10 highly don't recommend! Everything too pricey for no reason at all, most of the workers had attitudes & was rude. I payed $30 for my 2 year old to play in the kid zone area & payed $20 for my $13 year old like wait am I missing something or am I tripping? $58 for two pizzas .. etc I could keep going

It was awesome! They were not scams and u always left the store happy, except when u didn't win anything? sometimes the claw would bounce when it gets to the top and the plushie would drop, but sometimes it doesn't and you leave the store with a stuffed animal!

Went yesterday with family and was a bit confused . All the games cost mostly 12 coins and the give back for tickets was a minimum of like 4 tickets . The slot machine games showed ?malfunction due to fraud ? and didn't give us our tickets . A majority of the games were already broken . One in particular is the landmine game . It didn't move . The way the workers have to write every single card and token you bring to them from the slot machines was outdated. I have no doubt in a year it will be different an

First time going there. It was pretty fun even as an adult. I am going back soon!

Arcade is fun, but one machine is dysfunctional and didn't process our credits after two tries, throwing 18 credits down the drain. Afterwards, we got food and waited in line. The customer service is slow, took a woman five minutes to scoop out ice cream for the customer in front of us and we waited about 30 minutes for our food. Not bad... but the place is almost empty.

As someone who's visited a few round 1 locations (Fox Valley, North Riverside, Philadelphia, Pembroke Lakes, and one of the vegas locations) this is one of the best round one locations I've been to, rhythm game cabinets are well kept up, and the staff are great about helping you of one malfunctions, it's a shame to see that a lot of the people in the reviews here are so used to "American arcades" which have just become children's casinos, round one is refreshing because it has variety with different amazin

Had a great time not too much wait like other arcade places.

Place is cool and dope to hangout out at. My fave worker though has to be alex, he was so very helpful and offered his hand whenever was needed. Service was great! Would Definitely come again!

This place is the worse! Save your money and go to bowloro or Dave n busters for games. Was there 8/10/2024 if you don't want to get sick ?? stay away. We order a round of shots that cost $107 and as we sucked the limes it was nothing but onion. Cross contamination! My friend allergic to onion and when we brought it to the Manager attention, he said well you already took the shot so nothing I can do. His name Keanu and how he's a manager blows my mind. He has no management skills. Save your money! This plac

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
