Middletown, New York 10941
Fun place, lots of games to play. If you get a card for credit all tickets go to your card and at the end you can purchase an item at the merchandise store or cash out. The place has a bar and also a consecion stand that sells pizza, potato tots, chicken nuggets and other foods. Fun place not crowded.
This place is terrible. I have been enjoying this place for almost 4 years and it has came completely downhill as of around 6 months ago. As I visited, 60% of the games were out of order. It had been like that for months, and nobody was ever there to fix the games. I go up to the front desk and tell them about the broken games, they refund the credits but never fix the game and tell me to my face it's "fixed". I replay the game that had supposedly been "fixed", and it was not fixed. Terrible experience, I a
This arcade is awesome there's a large selection of games to play including bowling and even karaoke.
This was an amazing find for us out of staters visiting the area. Bowling, billiards, ping pong, arcade games, virtual reality games, and a small restaurant area. My kids had fun for hours and the games were actually affordable. Some games were damaged, but things look like they get repaired and replaced quickly. It looked like some aggressive players hit the buttons too hard. There are 100's of games here. We didn't even get to the bowling! The rest of the mall is amazing too. You won't be disappointed.
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this Round1 location. We encountered a technical issue during our visit, and unfortunately, one of the staff members, Richard, seemed completely uninterested in helping us resolve it. Several employees were on their phones. I don't mind if staff use their phones during downtime, but when it feels like customers have to beg for help, I don't think that's how Round1 trains its associates. I've had great experiences at other Round1 locations, and this one really
Very friendly and attentive staff, payouts for crane and figure games are very generous. Be kind and pass it on. In terms of fun and win factor, this location is a 10/10, best one. Don't bother going to other Tristate locations, they can't compete. $100 play yielded around 12-15 prizes. The bigger prize cranes payout was higher than the smaller fun zone cranes, not sure why.
Went there to play pinball. They have 5 machines. Good ones too. I gave 3 stars because 2 of them had problems with the flippers that didn't work properly. This was the second time I let them know about the problem and is why I gave the 3 stars
It's okay, we finally went in after years of walking passed it. We wanted to try the arcade but a lot of the machines were run down, off, or just not amusing in the slightest. We wanted to pass the time and then go bowling. They have the generic arcade games we love but we didn't think it would justify the price. We often go to arcades with more varieties, more lively, and just overall better cleanliness. We walked around some more and just continued toward the bowling alley. They placed us on Lane 14 with
We booked one of the karaoke rooms. The room was dirty. Karaoke was fun. There were at least five staff members standing around behind a counter. When we brought the garbage to them from the room, they directed us to where we could throw it into the garbage.
Even though it says on their hours that they close at 2:00 AM, When I arrived at 1:20 AM which is 40 minutes before they close OFFICIALLY, They did not want to sell us game cards they threw us out of the store like dogs DISGUSTING SERVICE
Fun with games, yes,the refreshments, not so much. Hubby and I had water from there that was served in a pitcher. A few hours later, we both were sick. Vomiting and diarrhea. The water needs to be tested ?? ??
Loved going here for years until they started taking out most of their rhythm game section to put more skill claw machines. Took the charm out of this place just so they can make more money selling their overpriced plushies and figures. This place is just a disappointment anymore and it's sad cause this was somewhere I went every month back in 2021 but now I only go here like every 4 months for a day out with my friends
Great place kids had a blast very family oriented food was good not to oily. One thing THEY DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS so try to plan what your gonna do so you don't wast your money bur Im definitely going back
A lot of the games do not work and some will rob your credits. No food was available because one worker called out. Prizes are hard to win. Waste of time and money.
So friendly great atmosphere and great staff
Had a TERRIBLE experience at the Danbury location three times in a row and thought to myself ?why am I doing this to myself?? before I immediately went with the second half of my card over to the Middletown location. Middletown Round 1, you are the champions. You never disappoint me. I always have fun here. Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. Always helpful and kind. Machines work well, and when they don't it's very rare. And again: the staff will help you! I will never cheat on you with Danbury again. I l
This place is the biggest rip off ever to play so many games that don't work, or you swipe your card and it takes the credits from you, then doesn't work. And when you spend $50 to buy 300 credits for 4 kids, it goes in about 15 minutes. The way they get you is by making games an unusual amount of credits. Instead of 9 credits, it'll be 9.2. Instead of 6 credits, it'll be 6.4. That's such a low thing to do and just a giant money grab. I promise you'll end up with 0.4, or something credits that are useless t
I've been here several times now, but always during the day. It's mostly always been great to okay. Last night I decided to bring my family here after dinner and it's a COMPLETELY different experience. We were met at the front door by security guards who wanded us for weapons? in an arcade. Okay, I guess it's for all our safety, so not that big a deal. Not too long after that though, there's a pack of kids literally grabbing anything they want out of the ticket prize store, and just running off repeatedly.
This is a great little Round1. I didn't get any food or do bowling/karaoke, but I had my fun at the arcade portion. I also didn't peek into the winner's circle, but I'm sure it's on par with other Round1's. Pros: - Decent arcade selection: 2 DDR Cabs, 1 Dancerush Stardom, 1 Pump it Up, some skill-based UFO catchers, some standard arcade fare (piano keys, big bass fishing wheel, coin pushers, etc), as well as a few other rhythm games I'm not yet acquainted with, some fighting game cabinets, pinball machine
Once upon a time this place was great however it has disappointed me. Numerous games tend to be Out of Service, and two Weekends in a row I was unable to bowl due to majority of the lanes being broken. This is horrible! I understand machines break but when you know Fri Sat Sun is your most busy days why not have them fixed at least by then? I hope that they do better I will be looking for another option for my children going forward. Pics below show all the purple screeens which means the lane is broken.
Staff was quick to refill claw machines It wasnt over crowded Games are very fun and exciting! Could use more updated JP rhythm games but that is personal preference! Would recommend if you have the time and are looking for a fun experience!
Security walking around like some type of gangster. The seat at our lane was ripping in multple spots so I was sitting at the edge of the table. Told me I couldn't sit there, no biggie. But people can smoke pot in the restrooms, got it. Go to quins pins.
My grandkids enjoy. However, claw machines seem looser than last visit...things slip thru easily.
This is both a Friday night Fun Zone and a nerd's paradise. They have a wide selection of games and activities. The arcade has a variety of games and pinball machines. Bowling is available, albeit it is string pin bowling; probably not best for bowling purists. They have pool tables, karaoke, and table tennis for rent, although rather pricey. Food and drinks are available with several TV's with sports on. Finally, there is a selection of Japanese rhythm games for die-hard nerds.
Had my birthday party here and it was amazing! The staff was super sweet and accommodating. We had lots of food and drinks, the place was super clean and we had so much fun!
As an avid fighting game player, the games they have here are great. BlazBlue, Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Persona 4 Arena. I've been here three times now with friends and I have fun every time I'm there. Wish there were more fighting game fans I could play with though. Reading most of the other reviews here, it seems there's a big issue with customer service. Rude staff, lackluster food. I've only talked to one staff member and he was doing his job, answering my question. Other than that, I haven't really intera
This place is literally perfect Claw machines are fun and agony Prizes are really nice Rythme game heaven, there's literally any Japan rythme game here aside from taiko Too bad the cab conditions on the dance machines are the worst I've seen at any R1, can we just have a good pump cab in Jersey, is that hard to ask
Went to this Round1 last month in January, I had a good time during my late night claw game session, but I'd recommend calling ahead before you go, in lieu of all the newer reviews commenting on their bowling lanes and arcade games being out of service: It's a bit of a drive from NYC, but worth it for their extensive stock of claw game prizes, especially popular ones like LINE friends plushies, Miku figurines, Demon Slayer figurines, Jujutsu Kaisen figurines, Rem figurine, etc. These tend to sell out quick
If you like rhythm games this is the place for you. All of them have online support, and cards are available at the cashier. Machines are quite loud while playing, especially on beatmania IIDX. This place is quite bigger than I expected, with two entrances both front and back (one leads to the middle of the mall, the other leads to Target + an exit). Definitely making some monthly visits.
The place is packed with every game you can think of. Friendly and fun staff. Had beers and wings. We all had had a good time.
This is the second time the website and google said they were open from 11am. They are still closed at this very moment, which is 11:31am. Recent review: I really don't like claw machines. Less and less skill based arcades. It's harder to win since the claw machines are all rigged. They are getting rid of skill based arcade to claw machines... which makes it harder to win. If nothing changes, this might be the last time I'm going. Waste of money and the credit is waaaaay too expensive for just a claw game.
One of the best arcade franchises out there, with modern games and many amenities that most competitors lack. They also have popular rhythm games you can't find anywhere else outside of Japan. Fun for all ages and walks of life. You WILL have fun here!
Our favorite place to take the kids. Close to home and easy parking lot access. Open late and perfect for our schedules. We play with the boys and get lost for hours game after game. Boys enjoying coming here on their birthdays too after dinner.
This place is great. The games are awesome. They have pool and bowling as well. The beers are 2 bucks!! This place is somewhere I would def visit over and over. The staff is cool and very helpful. Great for my kids and also for date night for me and my husband.
Prices were decent for what was offered. My son loves basketball and the prices on those games weren't too bad honestly. A lot of machines were inoperable as well.
So many great games have been removed compared to last year, replaced with my claw games. The games that are left are poorly maintained, with either part of them not working or the entire thing. Super disappointing, it was a must visit to now, I don't know when I'll be back.
DISGUSTING AND BORDERLINE ILLEGAL! THEY TURNED OFF THE DRINKING FOUNTAINS AND REFUSED TO GIVE OUT WATER FOR FREE! EVEN TAP WATER!!! SERIOUSLY THEY WERE CHARGING FOR A DIXIE CUP OF TAP WATER!!! my grandma nearly passed out with the Round1 employees refusing to give us any water!
We went here a few times since it opened. Sometimes just pass through and play the arcade. The last time I went with my friends there were service issues with the bowling. There were barely any people there, only one other lane that was open and no one came to help. It happened three times! And each time we had to go to them and have them reset it. It was very annoying to have to wait to play. We wanted to play another game but didn't want to deal with the service and issues.
Great place. Very family friendly. We all had a fantastic time
This place is a great opportunity for an exciting day trip as my friends and I did. They had a health monitoring station upon arrival and at the time a mask mandate in there. The games were so much fun with so much variety and so many great, high-quality prizes to win as well. The photo booths were a bit pricey (26 points ~ $6.50 for the one we used) but all around the games were high quality and a lot of fun to play. We did not try the food from there or go bowling at the time, but we plan on coming back a
Fun for the whole family! Including adult beverages while you play or bowl.
SUCKS...spend your money elsewhere. Round1 is a great name for this place, because it literally has ONE thing going for it - its anime-themed games, which set it apart from your average Dave and Buster's. Beyond that, it blows. My family drove three hours to the Round1 nearest our home, which happens to be the one in Middletown, for a collaboration event they were having. Now, as I've only been to this specific facility, it's the only Round1 I can speak of, so this review may not accurately represent thei
I love round 1 arcade they have such fun games and Rythm games the only thing is there's always 2 machines that are down. Other than that great place and good prices, lots of things to do. And they stay open pretty late but you have to be 18
The manager proceeded to scream a line of curse words against my family but not only to us but there were several kids around
A lot of employees are very rude I wanted to go Bowling and I had to wait 20 because the guy at the counter said he is on break now and finally he got back I had to wait another 10 minutes because no one was at the shoe rental And there is a really nasty security guard Who repeatedly interrupted my friend While he was talking to the manager trying to get help with his club membership
Large assortment of games, both skill and luck based, and regular arcade games. Employees were very helpful when my sons had an issue with a machine. Will definitely be back soon!!
It's a great place to hang out with family or friends, with many games and activities to enjoy as well as food and drinks.
Addy loves this place. Always clean. Not much for toddlers, but as she gets older it's great.
Came here one Saturday night with friends for the first time and system was ?down? so couldn't play anything or bowl, front worker was a blonde girl and was very rude and didn't give us feedback if we should wait and stay or if it will be offline for the rest of the night. Just said ?there's a million other people here I don't know? We decided to leave to try other places and then came back since it was open still. Everything was working at this point. So we get to our lane and it is basically trashed with
Only did the bowling get but all I can say is wow. Super clean. First they take your temperature and all you to use sanitizer to go in. After bowling they wipe down, sanitize your area and the bowling balls and put them back for you. Reasonably priced and the whole family had fun.
The atmosphere was nice. We were able to get a table right away. However, it was advertised that the kitchen would serve until 11:00. When we tried to order nachos at 9:53 (we were literally behind another customer in line), the manager slammed the ?We are closed? sign on the counter after having just taken another order seconds earlier. We asked why, and her reply was that she was about to take take her break and by the time that she would return from her break, the kitchen would be closed. Even if she was
Had a great time. Bowling and the arcade was great plenty of games for everyone. A bar to relax at and watch the game while you release your teens. There was a wait at the redemption center to be expected. Will definitely go back soon.
I love this place because it's open till late and they have very good service
What horrible service. Nobody to help with a broken machine and the attitude of the people at the service desk is unfriendly and downright rude.
This place needs a good manager. The workers all seem lost unfortunately. The ally is nice though ,a good time. They don't bother you there ...
Open until 2 AM. Bowling seems to be a big feature here. There's Karaoke rooms (no drinking in the rooms). There is some food and alcohol. Definitely entertaining for special occasions young and old.
I came here for first time you have many choices, when you entrance find pool table, karaoke rooms, bowling and tones of games machines around! I really like it !!!
Beware of this awful arcade. The White female worker without the uniform is so rude, they don't want you to win anything I spent couple hundreds dollars at this location every week. Today I spent about two hundreds dollars , I am so close to winning a 500 tickets prize after spending a lot of money on this game. That woman worker Shut down the game I was playing on purpose so I couldn't win the tickets. The machine was never working properly, any problems they don't care, they won't fix it. When I took a
This place is all-in-all really cool. Huge arcade, bowling alley, ping pong tables, karaoke rooms, pool tables, they serve food and beer and wine. There are definitely some negative points though. Arcade games and packages are expensive, games often cheat you out of tickets (need to pay attention on this one, as it happens frequently), games are frequently broken. If they can fix the games situation, the cheating of tickets and the pricing, this place would get a higher rating. They need to look at their bi
Disgusting customer service, almost every employee makes you feel like they are going to kill you just for asking a question or anything else
Good location for family time and play some pool and games. Beer and food available on location at the mall.
I just left Round 1 and had the worst experience ever! The staff had a terrible attitude, and one lady in particular was incredibly unfriendly and seemed to take pleasure in ruining our fun. I'd heard rumors about her before, but I didn't believe it until now. It's disappointing that a place meant for enjoyment and entertainment can have someone like that working there, making customers feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Needless to say, I won't be returning! The atmosphere was supposed to be fun and welcomi
There's no staff? They have promotions for cards that you can't get because there is no one there at the register. We waited 10+ minutes and a food employee went to find someone. We waited another 5-10 minutes and no one came. Additionally there are several games that need employee assistance to receive the prize if you win, but again, there are no employees (except food who are unable to do so) to redeem the prize. The prize area was not staffed either but the rope was gone. There was a guy waiting to rede
Great place to relax spend time with family and friends.
Avoid this dump! Disgusting experience at Round 1! We were cursed at and screamed at by staff simply for WALKING IN during their business hours. Yes, you read that right - they were open, but apparently didn't want customers. To add insult to injury, the lanes were CLOSED, despite their posted hours saying they should be available. No reason, no explanation, just pure hostility and verbal abuse. Unbelievable. Don't waste your time or money on this toxic establishment. Take your business elsewhere.
Place has gone downhill since its opeing. Many of the games are broken. Had a few lanes open for bowling on a friday night with a long wait list. Not really worth going anymore.
Had fun with the grandchild. I gave it four stars because some of the machines didn't work , especially the ones that grab the toys and 3 other games that were out of Order, I have to say though that the customer service reps at the desk were quick to resolve the issue and add the money back on my game card. It was a fun experience.
Love spending time with my son's here and they love it too
I was just there yesterday, I have been there twice, I really like the games. If you want to play bowling or pool you have to go early because you will end up waiting 2 hours to be able to play. They have a variety of games for people all ages.
The facility provides a variety of activity options, but regrettably, my recent encounter with its management was far from satisfactory. During a recent family outing for bowling, we encountered an unfair situation regarding the addition of an extra player to our game. Despite our efforts to address the issue calmly and rationally, the manager's response was unexpectedly confrontational and aggressive. This abrupt turn of events transformed what should have been a leisurely and enjoyable experience into a d
So many games malfunctioned and several games were out of order so if you have a few kids that want to play against eachother they couldn't. Bowling was good, drinks priced fairly. Overall I wasn't thrilled, I had to go to the desk and request refunds on games several times. My son lost interest fairly quick because of all the issues.
Bowling was good. Make sure you finish within the hour allotted for each game regardless of how many in the group. Bowling ball choices need to be upgraded. Amusement area/Games are OK. Plenty to do. Laser Tag was very good. EAll ages enjoyed it. Prices are OK. What we expected.
Great spot for unique games. Crane games and challenging and fun. Also good to see the amount of music oriented games from over seas. You should definitely check this place out!
Great time. Super clean. Great prizes. Billards. Bowling.
Its a fun place with a lot to do for most ages (maybe not babies). The claw machines are fun and the pricing isn't terrible - the karaoke rooms are clean and spacious, easy to extend your time if there isn't a waiting list! Bowling is always fun and fairly priced! The arcade games are a blast and the bar staff is friendly!
Place is pretty cool. When I went they had a lot of games shut down which was a bummer. Only thing is the LED games on big screens are way too bright makes you not want to play or watch people play Pac-Man,Space Invaders, centipede gives a head ache after a while
Updated 1/13/24- we went back tonight, there was plenty of staff, New games (Though a good amount still out), New food menu. They seem to have been putting out new bowling balls, as well. So, hopefully this is the start of it coming back to life! Had a great night! My family and I loveD coming here. Lots of fun games, but lately, barely anything is working. They are usually understaffed (which isn't the workers' fault) but the company needs to pay more attention to this location. Today, most of the games
Unwelcoming Staff - Cursed at for Showing Up! Arrived an hour before closing at [Bowling Round 1] and was greeted with a curse word from the staff. They seemed put off that we showed up "too early". Unbelievable attitude! Won't be back. If you want to be treated with respect, avoid this place.
A super fun place to visit with lots of cool music games as the cherry on top.
I'm still fuming after the horrible experience at [Round 1] last night. My friends and I arrived an hour before closing time, excited to squeeze in a few games. But what we got was a hostile welcome from the staff. As soon as we walked in, the manager (or who I assume was the manager) greeted us with a scowl and a curse word, saying "Great, just what we need, another group of people coming in an hour before we close." Yes, you read that right - they cursed at us for showing up too early!
We had a party for my nieces 6th birthday there were 12 of us we did the all inclusive for 3 hours and everyone had an absolute blast! Our party host Destiny was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We had a blast and so did the kids we will definitely be back for a future party! The pizza and tenders were delicious! Thanks Destiny and the round 1 staff!!
Most of the games were broken or missing parts; did not find out until after the machine took our credits. Advised staff and was told, "Oh yeah, we knew that." Couldn't turn off the game or put an out of service sign on like the other broken machines surrounding them? Staff gave us our credits back, but more time was spent asking for credits back than playing the few games available. Also, the security line surrounding the ticket redemption area was not worth the line as one group was allowed in the area at
Extremely overpriced mall arcade with minimal games geared for smaller children. It seems like the academy can't decide in which direction to go between adult entertainment or children entertainment. 3/10 games do not work and I am including the games that say they work then take your money. You can get a refund by waiting on line for 5 minutes and explaining what happened to a employee but even after you tell them nobody goes and shuts the game down or fixes it. I know that most arcade games are cash grab
Came here on vacation with a group of friends. It was pretty dope. The cashier was super helpful and straight to the point. I do like the shoe locker vendor system. Very different from traditional bowling alleys. Hate I couldn't buy prizes and had to earn tickets.
Fun experience. I only wish for more bowling lanes.
great selection of rhythm games. some seem to switch out?last time there were 2 project diva arcade machines, now there is only one.
It's sad to see that all these negative reviews that I'm reading about this round one are 100% relatable and or true. Round one is awesome, but management does suck. Why do people think they can just be disrespectful to their staff and or customers and think it's okay. That manager David needs to go, cause he giving that business a bad reputation. I love round one but I can't stand bitter disrespectful people, just a thought. #FreedomOfSpeech READ THE REVIEWS I AINT THE ONLY ONE TALKING ABOUT IT !!!
Fun place for Fun times.. for the entire family or friends crew!!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
