Round1 Bowling & Arcade Elizabeth - The Mills at Jersey Gardens

Round 1 offers a mixed experience, with praise for its spacious, clean facilities and variety of arcade games, bowling, and karaoke. However, many criticize the poor selection of Japanese rhythm games and skill-based cranes, citing weak claw machines and unfair payouts. Staff service varies—some are friendly and helpful, while others are rude or inefficient, particularly at the bar and bowling desk. Had an event this Saturday for an all-inclusive party. Everything was amazing !!! My host, Hensey and Deborah, were great to work with very attentive. The GM Tiffany came over to make sure things go smooth. Chris is the party planning manager, and he was extremely helpful. He answered all questions prior to booking and gave me follow-up calls when needed. The check-in process was easy. Everyone had a blast. All inclusive are pizza wings, fries, and drinks for the 3-hour stay. The food was delicious, no comp

This spot was okay. If I'm in the area and don't have nothing to do I would visit it. It's open to 2 am and at 10 pm I believe they get all the underage kids out to make it more adult friendly. Which isn't bad. The food was okay but you can't really mess up chicken fingers and French fries. The drinks, took so long and we were literally the only ppl that ordered. I could tell the bartender might've been new so they were reading from a guide and measuring correctly, but I would hate to see it if this place w

Went on a Saturday afternoon 12-3. New location, bigger than Connecticut and other Jersey location. Clean and organized, staff is friendly, clean bathrooms. Mostly small plush wins (9-10 credit per play), win rate for everything else is terrible. Claws are not set up properly, weak and didnt grab prize. No one was able to win the Bulbasaur plush, One Piece figure, or big Kirby plush while we were there. There are no skill based cranes or UFO pushers. All payout based. All cranes were eclaw machines from

Sneaky Business Practices ? Be Careful! I had a really disappointing experience at Round 1 in Jersey Gardens. Right after entering(whether from the mall or the parking lot) you'll see two card machines that let you purchase cards and credits. DO NOT USE THEM! These machines only offer the regular red card and list prices for credits without mentioning that there's a cheaper club card option available at the Game Counter. The problem? There's ZERO signage explaining what the Game Counter is or where it's l

kickass grand opening. free shirts. sound voltex cabs were in perfect condition and they were the type with the 2nd screen on them so you could easily search/change settings (valkyrie model i think. it also has more songs than usual and these things are like 20k and you wont find them anywhere else). they do have other rhythm games like dancerush stardom, ddr, and a bunch of others all connected to official servers which is cool. tons of claw machines, only two have hololive as of June 22 (korone and marin

They've done a really nice job transforming this place ? hard to believe it used to be a Bed Bath & Beyond! It's a huge space with tons of activities, from arcade games and bowling lanes to karaoke rooms (which we still need to try). The food is okay ? not amazing, but no major complaints. The drinks, however, could use some improvement. I ordered a Moscow Mule and got what tasted like vodka mixed with ginger ale, so either better training or making sure the bar has the right ingredients would go a long way

Only claw machines and no other setups for winning plushies. The claw machines have an extremely low payout rate. I saw someone swipe 24 times to try winning a Pok?mon and it still didn't payout. Since all machines are claws, there are no anime figures. Each claw swipe is 10 or 11 credits which is about $1.58 per swipe!

Round 1 is a reputable arcade chain in Japan and the United States that offers a wide selection of internet-connected Japanese rhythm games. They provide regular content updates, ensuring that their patrons have access to the latest and most exciting games. While this particular location, despite its relatively recent establishment, aligns with the standards of its neighboring establishments in the northeastern region, it does fall short in terms of the availability of certain rhythm games. Notably, some o

Well maintained on its 2nd day from grand opening on 3/1/2025. Fun zones are winnable, E-Claws are pretty bad. No UFOs. An overall ok location, but will not visit again due to low pay out rates.

A decent sized Round 1, but as others have said there could be a bigger selection of Japanese rhythm games. There's plenty of claw machines to get plushies from and lots of arcade games to play. There's also bowling, billiards, and karaoke rooms in addition to the arcade games. It's a good option for people who want a break from the mall.

I recently visited Round 1 Bowling and Arcade, and I have to say it was an absolute blast! From the moment I walked in, the energy was electric, and the staff made the experience even better. The bowling lanes were in great condition, and the arcade had a fantastic mix of classic and modern games that kept me entertained for hours. What really stood out, though, was the incredible service from Layia, Anthony, and Angel. Layia was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to get started, offe

This is what the mall needed! There's over a dozen claw machines for small medium and large plushes. The chances of winning do seem low though but some people were able to win a few. I did see the staff working on some machines so maybe they'll work out the kinks soon. They have food, bowling, pool, air hockey and usual arcade games. They're open until 2am. It's a little expensive like going to dave and busters but for casual fun or taking a break from the mall, it's worth popping in. (Side note though, I

The staff at the bowling alley front desk were rude and unprofessional. Their attitude and the way they looked at and spoke to customers were unpleasant and disrespectful. They made no effort to explain anything or answer our questions. We understood there might be a wait, and they added us to a waiting list, initially telling us it would be about an hour. Four hours passed, and we never received any confirmation or update. This place seriously needs to train its staff to provide better customer service.

I visited this location on Easter and was highly upset that they didn't honor the ticket prices at the gift shop. There was no sign any where in the store about the ticket amounts have increased or decreased. My daughter was highly upset that she couldn't get the pouch which she had enough tickets for. The manager told the cashier to take the sign out from the bottom of the register and placed in my face to read. They didn't accommodate us because they blamed it on the establishment. They could of manually

Great for arcade, decent for crane machines. Half the crane machines are empty and the air conditioner don't work so it's so humid and musty in there.

The good: Open and airy - extremely clean, spacious, not incredible loud The not so good: No waitstaff at bowling - only people for ball management and clean up... so you need to stop playing and wait on a line for awhile to order - seeing things aren't efficiently run, this could be 10 minutes... Bar is a total mess. Pre-order at register before able to sit at stool. Must get wristband. ID scanner not working (I am nearly 50) must wait - took 10 min to get 2 drinks. (add to 10 min wait for food - I only

really great place to bring the family. the bowling is a better value if you get it hourly rather than per game. the staff are friendly and abundant. our bowling concierge, Samantha, was A1. really attentive, funny, and helpful. 10/10 really special. won the hourly strike challenge but your printer was out of photo paper, raincheck?

Went here for my birthday and was disappointed in the claws. I mostly go for the claw machines as they are my favorite. I've been to other Round 1 in other locations and was able to get pretty big plushies with one game card. Took about 4 refills and still got nothing with the impossible claws. Payouts didn't even work. Barely any official Round 1 brand claw machines, which may have helped gotten something. Overall scenery was clean and other activities were enjoyable.

For a first time Round1 experience, it was good. But according to people who have been to other locations, this is quite underwhelming. Despite that, I enjoyed my first time. I know I wouldn't go to this location that often because of the limited selection. Realistically, if they could take out 1/3 of the claw machines(most of which have the Chinese merch when it should be mostly Japanese ones), they'd be able to have a bigger rhythm game collection. Rhythm games are the main big thing of Round1's, that's a

im rlly hyped to come here once it opens!! ive never been to one before but ill be going JUST for the sake of playing sound voltex and maimai for the first time ever. thisis the closest place near me, a short drive there, so i cant wait for this production to finally be done :) edit: no maimai sadly, but sdvx exceed gear was there which made me FLIP the hell out, loved the experience esp since i went there on my birthday!! i almost lost my e amusement card tho but thankfully no one took it ?? the star rati

I came to visit the mall and found a round 1 location. Very small selection of the anime claw machines, I spent 26 dollars and gave one machine a shot where I had to pick up a pillow looking like plush to win. I did it 9 times which is all of my credits and almost everytime I grabbed it and it never had the strength to pick it up. I told the staff this, they were nice enough to give me 3 more free tries and watched me do it. They were in disbelief since they see a perfect grab but with no strength. This co

Went there for my friends birthday on March 28, it was a Friday. And had a lot of fun, not the biggest round 1 I seen, but if they add more crane games just like the California locations and Long Island location, this place will be great. I had a pleasure to have David along the crane floor and he helped me get a lot of prizes when he is around. I think David went above and beyond his job details. He made sure each crane game was working and made sure the prizes were fair to get. I think David should get a

Compared to other Round1?s I've been to, this one is on the smaller side. The selection of games left a lot to be desired, and a handful of games were even out of order. Looking forward to when the Edison location opens.

It's... Okay. I had fun. Won a ton. However, some of the ticket games were not working properly and I lost credits as there was only 1 worker on the floor. Also, missed opportunity as they have no skill claw machines, mini claw machines, or machines with anime figures. Also, the Over The Edge game really needs mystery boxes and was just about empty. The employees I did see were quite nice and friendly, so upped it to 4 stars.

An average experience. Came during the grand opening. While the staff were great, the problem arrives with the store itself. Ticket and claw games are abundant in Round1 locations. This one lacks the in the rhythm game category. You can say only the big hitter games are here. Perhaps it's the space of the location. The machines were working well but were crashing a couple of times.

Went to Round 1 Saturday afternoon with friends. The arcade is a decent size, offers a bunch of claw and typical arcade games. No UFO catchers which definitely disappoints. The payout rate for the claws seemed to be very good. It could have been the weekend rush making it easier. Many people were walking around with plushies. I was able to score the jackpot on one ticket redemption game. Not a ton of Japanese style arcade games. Many games were already out of order after only being open for 2 weeks. The pr

I've been to several Round1 locations in NY, CT, MA, and now this new spot in NJ. This was easily the worst one I have ever visited. Even though it is filled mostly with cranes, there is little variety in the type of crane games (No minis, No ufo-catcher, no box games) and the machines have a very low payout rate compared to other locations. The claw was set to let go early to a frustrating degree. There are also only plush prizes available, unlike most locations that also have figures. The rhythm game se

Never been to a round one (only Dave &busters) this looked like a good time for my niece since it's only 10 minutes from my house. About 20% of the games were out of order. 4 machines were not working properly during use and wouldn't pay out properly for tickets. Claw machines DO NOT pay out as often as they should. They drop after picking up every time. Highly disappointed. Felt like a Temu Dave and Busters with the quality of their machines.

When I say worst place. Please belive it. Came in to bowl and have fun with friends. Got out lane. Started out good but then the lane broke. Moved to a new one. Second lane worked for 10 minutes and also broke. Finally moved to a working lane. Time ended while we were bowling. Kindly asked the lane assistant person for help. Then 3 people showed up asking what is the problem. Like there was an issue. The manager CHRIS ( blond ish red whispy hair) came. Absolutely no help. VERY AGGRESSIVE. and

I waited an hour and 24 minutes to go to the bowling alley, and they didn't return my call. I asked about the delay, and the girl was very annoying. She responded with a rude attitude. They play with the customer's time and don't care. That's why I gave it one star. ????

Having been to all of the other Round 1 locations in NY, CT, and MA, after making the trip out to visit this newly opened one I was left very disappointed. The selection of machines is incredibly poor. Every single claw machine was an American style grabber with absolutely horrible payouts. The prize selection overall was very generic, with only a limited selection available and multiple machines having repeated prizes. They were pushed so close together too that navigating past machines with people playing

I was very excited to finally go to Round 1, I've been wanting near me for so long. But when I got there, it felt very disappointing. There were only plush cranes. Round 1 is known for having a variety of crane games and my satisfaction was not met at all. I should just go to another location instead. Also it felt impossible to get tickets to get anything. The staff here were super friendly though, I want to empathize my review is solely based on the (lack of) machines.

Average experience for Grand Opening. For a bowling alley there's only eight lanes. The kitchen needs to be bigger and have more staff for busy times. Arcade games are well spread out, but they lack the Japanese exclusive regional import arcade games (except for two sit down machines) that are featured in other Round1 arcades. Worst of all, no pinball machines whatsoever! The staff is friendly and helpful though. Hopefully they will make some improvements as the venue evolves over time.

Not much rhythm game selection unfortunately, no taiko cab ??

Today we are at the pool hall and I love pool and bowling, there are very friendly people and you can even have birthday parties. ??

I really liked the place! All my friends and I had a great time and the staff were very nice especially Katherine she was awesome and provided me with great customer service especially to my friends who speak Spanish, she is really a great translator! The food was good and the all the arcade games were fun, they had plenty of plushies and games, overall one of the best experiences I ever had, will come back again!

You are better off going to the Long Island location, if you want a fair chance at the claw machine. Spent $50 and was not able to win a plush. The smaller claw machine swiped over 5 times and the claw was weak. Caught the plush every time but the claw ended up dropping the plush. The bigger claw machine you have a slightly better chance of winning compared to the smaller claw machine. The Long Island location I was able to win multiple plushies, spending the same amount that I did here.

I came here hoping to go bowling with my dad, but that didn't happen. When we went to reserve our spot, they told us the wait would be 1 hour, and they would text me. I gave them my number and got the text that said, ?You are now on the bowling waiting list! You will receive another text when your lane is ready. Thank you!? As time passed by, my dad and I kept waiting, and then when we got the text from them at 9:51 pm, we went to the guest desk as instructed, just to find out that they ?called? us and we g

Tried hosting an event here and went in person to make arrangements around 12-1 in the afternoon. The front desk staff advised there was no one there at the time that could help, but offered to share contact information so someone can reach out. After almost a week of no follow-up, I called and was told with an attitude that it needs to be done in person. I advised I already tried in person and was advised my information was given at that time so someone can follow-up. I inquired about availability (days/ti

I'm a huge fan of the Exton Round1 but it's too far for me to go often. I was excited to go to this one which is only 30min from me. I went yesterday for my birthday and was massively disappointed. My issues with this location can be summed up in a few bullet points: - No prize figures - No UFO catchers - No Project Diva machine - Only 4 fighting game machines - Multiple broken machines despite being open only a week (physical damage, non function card reader, broken parts, etc) - Very low game variety (al

Disappointed. They only have a small section of Japanese rhythm games. A very small selection of rail shooter games. Too many crane games that sells the same variety of plushies. The majority of the games here can be found in Dave & Busters or Chuck E. Cheese?s. It's not the round1 that I was expecting where we could play some exclusive Japanese import games.

Bowling is a rip-off!!! You pay a lot for an hour that flies by, and they tell you time is ticking from now on! They don't care if it took you 3 minutes; that's your problem. You're squeezed in with the people in line next to you, so if there are 5 of you and you buy food, everything won't fit on the table with the other people's food. The only good thing about it is that they close at 2:00 am, making a killing on beer, which a jug costs 41 with tax, and they hold you back on the amount of ice.

This Round one is decent considering the location and amount of space that they have. It only has claw machines and not much of variety. I also noticed a few games out of service. Worth noting that the staff is very helpful and friendly 5/5 for them!

A very substandard location. If the rhythm games don't make money and are niche why are they crammed together at the most visible entrance of the arcade? Why is that section cramped and most busy? The selection of games is pitiful at best. No Sega music games, no Taiko no Tatsujin, no offline of recently shuttered games like Chrono Circle or WACCA, no jubeat/GITADORA/pop?n music. Very lousy location.

Worst customer service I have ever seen . Please don't go to the bar , they do not have an experienced bartender , I repeat they do not have an experienced bartender , just a bunch of staffs looking at a book to make your drinks for you. I was livid , it took us about 35mins to get our ordered drinks this was at late night .

The service was horrible. I ordered food, and they did not give me everything I paid for. I ordered a teriyaki bowl and a bottle of water and they said they didn't ?have? it so they gave me an extra order of fries but that still did not give me all the money I paid for. I asked them if I could have the money back and they in their defense said, ?i already gave you an extra order of fries?. They did not know what they were doing and I was very disappointed with the dining experience here.

Super happy that my local mall has a now arcade cause we've been needing that. However, i signed up to bowl , i got put on the list at 8:32pm for an hour ina half wait???. Never got the text to say our lane was ready even 3 hours later so we left .

Almost 70$ to bowl for an hour just to lose 10 minutes because of they couldn't lower the safety rails , spoke to the manager and him saying we couldn't recover our time even though it was there fault , after that we tried the machines that feel more like a gamble then an a actual game bc they would last 5-10 second . This place is a joke.

A lot of claw machines with nice prize. But this review only gets 4 star because the prizes are missing the Japanese anime figures you can find at other Round1.

The arcade was big and all the games we wanted to play. They go food & drinks and ice cream too Thank You, Round 1 Costumer

Was hesitant to go and try this round1 with my wife today due to the recent reviews. But as we went and tried to play the claw machines, we got everything we wanted. I will agree that most of the claw machines were not really your typical round1 machines.

Honestly the best arcade I have ever gone to fun games to win tickets and just some to have fun with only problem is the bowling alley is always filled and I don't think so many kids should be clustered up there.

By far the best arcade and the best odds at winning the stuffed animal prizes. Daughter loves hello kitty? If you play for points the selection of prizes is amazing!!!!!

Lovedddd this arcade honestly better than Dave?s and buster and gatcha! My man was able to win me plushies and still able to play lots of arcade games. Definitely recommend

Nowhere on the site does it say everyone needs to bring an ID. Absolutely misleading and a shame on the Company for this. We drove almost an hour to bring a child but unfortunately their night was ruined. Hope this serves a warning to others. Shame on this place for not informing customers.

The best place and very clean.

The machines are not even the official ones and in order for you to win something have to spend around 100 dollars you are better off going to the long island location and lets not mention the bad service of the food staff

Been standing on line for the past 30 mins one register is open there's at least 5 employees behind the counter for the past 20 mins each employee have a rag in their hands wiping the same spot as the previous employee. So sad that people literally don't work in this place.

Great idea for a business very fun endless games I will say the bar I very annoying and a long await it took 30 minutes to get a shot I've never been at a bar that operates like this

A disgrace to the Round1 brand. Why even use the name when you're just a Dave and Busters in disguise? I guess it's back to Long Island.

Okay arcade. Seems pretty disorganized though. Maybe they need time to grow since they just opened but I hope they get it together soon.

I've been to every major arcade from NY to CA. Round 1 is the best hands down! I'm super excited to see it in northern NJ. We live soooooo close!!!

The money is 40 total not including shoes it's very busy on the weekend you need to go in the morning

This is the most fun place. It has 5 star level arcade and more.

I went to one in CA when I went there for a 2 week vacation and now that it's coming here to NJ, I now don't need to store my Round 1 card!

Great experience and so big!!!!

Yay! Let's appreciate a fun time in northern New Jersey at Round 1!

The rhythm games on their own are worth the visit??

FINALLY A ROUND1 IN NORTHERN JERSEY, I already have high hopes this place will be fun, if I can edit this review i will once it finally opens, but please PLEASE have a full staff, other places I have been the poor workers are running around in a frenzy trying to help out the many counters and locations

My son and I had an amazing time there!!!

I love this arcade it's very fun and has good machines and ticket payouts.

Very nice place, great management and employees.

PERFECTLY! GOD! BLESS! AM?N!...

Price per game went much higher now.

Any idea when are they opening?

LET'S GO! NORTHERN JERSEY!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
