Customer Reviews

As an enthusiast of japanese rhythm games I'm very happy to see the local selection. American made Stepmaniax is here too. Along side that we have dance dance revolution, Pump it Up, dance rush stardom, Sound Voltex and Beatmania IIDX. All online with the latest updates. The rhythm game section is a tad smaller than what I've seen at other round ones but regardless this is great. Only request I have would be to turn up the sound about 15% as it's very difficult to hear the game sound.

First time visiting. Cool crane games. Clean place. However, I bought 26 dollars worth of credits and not a since prize won. The claw dropped prize, no matter the size or weight. Each game play is 14 to 11 credits. How disappointing. I had high hopes but it was definitely not worth the 45 minute drive. EDIT: Went back after a stroll around the mall and wasted another $16. There are other crane games where the play is 9 points. Still didn't win a single prize. Played some games and visited the ticket exchan

All in all, will likely be back, but I can sympathize with those concerned with price per play through the point system. There are hints, though, that are posted on most (if not all) of the machines that give decent advice as to how the claws work. I used this advice to win a few prizes, but there are some claws that feel as though they have a weak grab. Once you get a feel for a certain machine, you can almost guarantee success, but you'd honestly either have to watch vids on YT or spend enough points to

More important edit: round 1 is increasing their prices. Only come here to take Google lens pics of the prizes so you can just buy them for reasonable prices. Absolutely insane greed on display here. Opened in Feb offering less than every other location and already increasing pricing!!!! EDIT: if you are on a smaller budget I highly recommend going to Bellaire in Houston, the claw machines there are easier to get toys from and you can trade them in for nicer prizes behind the counter!!! Second edit with a

great that there's finally a round1 near houston! it's smaller than the other ones because there's no bowling or karaoke rooms, but that's ok because I mostly go for the claw machines and anime figures, but i wish there were more games with figure prizes. since this location is new, i think a few of the machines aren't calibrated properly. i've been to so many round1s across the country and I know there's a payout blah blah blah. however, there are some machines where it's 1/100 chance. like one of the cla

Came right after church for the first time here with my 4 kiddos. Bowling area is not open yet but we're excited for that. We ordered large cheese pizza, ramens and ice cream. Everything is so delicious and the pizza is amazing and we are still under our budget. Restrooms are clean, hopefully people can keep it that way. Even though some guests say it's small arcade, don't let that ruin your day because they have plenty of games and prizes for claw machines are not the cheap kinds especially the plushies. V

EDIT (3/1): After giving this arcade a bit to get the grand opening kinks out, I returned to see what's new. The cafe is now open, and the food is similar to other Round1's. The takoyaki was delicious, and I love the 99c ice cream CONES! I love that this location uses sugar cones and not the cheap cake cones (or no cones at all). It's a small thing, but it really enhances my visits here. The arcade floor is rather unchanged - still no Gitadora, so I am assuming that they do not have plans to add it to thi

1st time going there Staff 10/10 staff super nice and helpful you out within a sec Claw machines 6/10 don't know how their system yet Figures machines 10/10 won easily Price per machine 5/10 kinda different from other r1 Security 10/10 professional No food yet 2nd time going Staff 10/10 still friendly and helps you out Claw machines 9/10 (kinda learn how to do it) Figures 8/10 (still the same items) Price 9/10 (just accepted that it's all legit items so the price makes sense) Security 9/10 (a little aggres

If I could rate 0, I would. Spending 40 dollars and only getting 1 plush. Even when we talked to an employee and had her and the manager come and try to fix a machine that wasn't picking up the plush AT ALL, they "fixed" it by just making the claw easier to clench, and even when he said it was all good, we tried again and it did pick up this time but didn't hold for long and he watched us do it and just kinda walked away after we already explained we tried like 6 times. Do noooot go here expecting to get li

Whoever approved this DDR machine layout, thanks for saving me a ton of money by making me want to never visit this location with my family. I'll update my review when it's confirmed to not be idiotic by someone else.

Round1 in Humble, TX is inside of the Deerbrook mall. The arcade only has arcade games (no bowling or laser tag or things like that). The arcade is very clean, neatly organized, and has a LOT of various machines, with the largest percentage being claw machines. After reading the reviews that the claw machines are extremely difficult to win, I decided to steer clear of them. For the price of $115, I got the highest card they sell ($110) and a 1 year membership ($5). This got me 800 credits and 2 free souve

Seems like a nice place, good variety of games and claw machines. Has some food and beer options for a decent price. Ramen was okay, however it would be better if it included an egg and some more meat. Games are your typical arcade game prices, so you'll need to spend some money if you want to try out everything. Claw machines are hit and miss but I was able to win a plush so its not totally rigged. Would probably come here again.

Despite the negative comments my experience at round 1 in deerbrook was amazing and professional the staff was nice including the security staff who is just there doing their job tonight I witnessed the security lady doing her job by letting the customers know that after a certain time if you are not of age you are not allowed in so I thought handle the situation well I definitely will be back thanks for the experience ??????

I had a great experience on both opening day and my return yesterday. I'm not sure why so many people are saying the claw machines are a scam. I have won several things both times I've been, you just have to know how. I don't think the comparison to places like claw mania are fair, given that the machines are easier because they have knockoff plushies and similar items. Everything at round 1 is official, authentic, and very high quality. I do wish that there were a bit more variety in the claw machines, nam

Purchased $50 worth of gameplay and did not get a prize. Played the regular sized claw machines and none appeared to be strong enough to hold the prizes even when the claw was clearly clasped around the prize. Will not be returning and would not recommend. Please steer clear of this place.

Not only is management very kind, but they also have such goated associates. A guy named Khyrie helped us out with any questions we had throughout our whole visit there, I don't think I've ever met anyone nicer. Genuinely. The games are fun, and having an associate like him just heightens the experience to another level. He helped us with a smile each time, and was ready to assist at any moment. Very attentive!

spent nearly $70 only to walk out empty handed.. this location is such a scam and difficult to win with incredibly weak claw machines. The San Antonio location is much larger and easier to to win!! super weak claws and expensive plays.. heard they're increasing soon too, probably will not come back? greedy greedy location DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CLAW MACHINES HERE!!

Round 1 is a fun place for to be for games that keep you entertained like the Music Rhythm games such as Dance Dance Revolution or any other Dance game available. You want to stay longer avoid high cost games which gets you to stay longer and you'll enjoy the place much better

Had a fantastic time. The arcade has TONS of awesome games. Everything is new, clean, and well functioning. So many fun game options to choose from. LOVE ALL the crane machine games. I would definitely recommend checking out Round1 Arcade at Deerbrook for some family fun.

I'll say this. The games and vibe are great. The price is decent for because rents high in a mall. Games are hard to win but I overall a fun time here. I didn't have the security issues like others so overall experience was pleasant. However, I do wish it was more similar to japan.

It's a smaller Round 1, but you've still got all the arcade and claw machines that make it fun! Had a great time with my wife and friends. Some reviews have mentioned that it's expensive, but it's no more expensive than other Round 1s throughout the country. ??\?_?(???)?_?/?? If you do the math of tickets earned to points spent you can certainly make your monies worth. ??(?????????)??

Great prizes and a good mixture of a variety of games but the power of the claws are near to impossible to win and the cost to play is insane. 14 points = $3.50 per play is insane. Spend $20 and only play 5-7 games that's it and of those you'd probably only win 2. I would make the drive to Bellaire and play those instead where your chances are 75/25 to win/lose ratio. Way better and more bang for your buck. Hopefully they adjust the cost to play and strength of the claws to make it fair.

Great place great arcade games but the crane game are a bit tricky the staff amazing the 2 security guards that were walking around the young white guy and lady guard were very friendly and cool. But the one that was on his phone young black guy not so much but oh well guess he was busy but the experience overall was amazing. Not the food lol but definitely coming back

Round1 prices are the same at every location, when locations first open they get bad reviews for the first year. R1 tends to be expensive i have been to the Reno location and thats how it is. Apparently these claw machines are weaker than usual. The claw machines take a certain amount of plays till the claw 'strengthens' and you win, but I'd say Just dont go here for claw machines and enjoy the rhythm games ?? Imported machines that are rare to come by, so it somewhat makes sense the price to play. I know

BLATANT SCAM, the claw machines were unbelivebly rigged and I have been to over 10 claw machine places and it's never this bad. Even the employees would tell you to avoid it because of how bad the machines were, Do not go here if you don't want to throw money in the trash. For the play unlimited, it only includes about 4 games while the rest of the games cost money. Tell me why hungry hippo cost money to play, so stupid. Spent 120 dollars just to get 4 prizes.

I love Round1, I've been to the one in Japan and the one in San Antonio, but this place gives Round1 a bad name. Yea it's small compared to the one in San Antonio but that's not even the issue. The issue here is that those claw machines are the shitty American version, the real Japanese ones are the ones that they had for the figures. Not once, not twice but 3 times did I get a plush for my girl and the claw actually OPENED and let go of the plush! Will not be going back till they make this one as good as t

I'm a big fan of Round1, but this location really gives the brand a bad name. The size isn't even the problem?it's the quality. Most of the claw machines here are the low-quality American versions, not the authentic Japanese ones that actually make the experience fun, like the ones they use for figures. It's clear this spot was set up purely for profit, with no real passion or love for arcades behind it.

First and last time coming here. Staff was really nice and the games were cool but the claw machines are AWFUL. Do not waste your time or money here it's completely rigged. You have better chances in china town or Katy even the tiny ones were impossible?.

It's a big arcade, but if I could rate 0 stars I would, all of them are rigged to make it so that you can't win the first few times, and then the claw machines get tighter the more you swipe. I spent 40$ here and came out with a single plush, don't waste your time here!

Expensive? Spent maybe 20 mins here (if that) and spent $25, played 4-5 of the small claw machines and got just one small keychain sized stuffed toy. Other arcade places are more worth the money than this place.

Claw machines have 0 power You basically have to keep dragging the plushie to the opening hole, and that takes over 10 tries.. The claw machines are rigged beyond reasoning for them to not be able to grab anything no matter how many times you try... Im only giving 3 stars instead of 1 because the figurines are more achievable than plushies, so go with the mindset that you may get figures, but dont expect to get plushies unless u spend 50$ worth of tries for 1 plushie.. Edit May 31: came back and they rigge

Finally there's a new Round1 in Houston. I'm so glad that there's finally a closer Round1 to me now, I used to go to the one at Grapevine/Arlington. I do have to say that this Round1 is very small compared to the other locations, it almost feels a little cramped at times. I mainly go for the rhythm games and they do have some iconic ones like beatmania, Sound Voltex, DDR, PIU and more but I feel like the selection is a bit too low. I would've loved to see some more variety but considering the location size

First of all, you have to spend $2 to get a card to put money on. My kids went thru $25 in 5 minutes, didn't win anything, and were chewed out by the security for bringing a smoothie into the store from the mall. Enjoy your $25, you will not get another dime from me.

Claw machines are rigged. Its ridiculous.. Dont waste your money here. Id rather drive a bit more to the Bellaire locations and have a better experience.

This place is ok. A bit pricy and You hardly win any prizes from the claw machines. You also need allot of points to win a prize candy prizes range from 10-100 or more. I most likely will never come back here again.

I would give it a okay. Not perfect but if you're there just for claw machines, good luck. Other games that earns tickets are also okay and dance games are good. It's an average size arcade. If they're doing another collab i like, I might return for it.

1 star because it's beautiful 2 stars because they have great prizes. I paid 30 dollars and was only able to play 7 games. The ticket price doesn't seem bad, but because the games cost too many tickets to play, it makes it impossible for the lower class to play any games. The middle class is already struggling as it is to make it by in the economy. Places like these that make it expensive for their main consumer make a regular not want to come as often.

i have read most of these reviews an nothing about being id was said or talked about yet, yesterday i was id'd with my kids / friends who were some under 18 an mostly 20 up , we were only id'd after buying points at the front where they should tell u an let they're customers know that minors cant be there after 10, should have a sign or something some where we can know that. about 55 dollars wasted without being told id have to leave soon an a bunch of " stalking ' from the cop they're , what i mean by tha

It was alright the bathrooms were clean the staff where nice and friendly the few problems were the prices and food I noticed that walking in that it was bright and colorful but the (young black guy) guard in the front was on his phone your suppose to be watching the the place not your phone I don't mind if he was checking it but he seemed to to be just staring at it intensely didn't even notice us walking in lol the other two guards i think one was white not sure and and the lady guard were on point plus

The security guard was extremely rude and had no interest in explaining anything properly?just kept repeating the same thing over and over with an attitude. If they have strict policies like this, they should make them more obvious before people waste their time and gas. Definitely won't be coming back.

The food was awful. i got food from their japanese menu. i ordered a chashu pork bowl and gyoza and the bowl looked unappetizing. the rice looked like microwaveable rice and the gyoza was eh, alright. the claw games are really hard to play. i recommend china towns claw arcades because you will actually win. other than that , the games were fun even though some of them were out of order but honestly, this place isnt anything special.

Waste of money. Brought my son to play claw machines, spent 60$ won a 1$ plushie. Don't come here Go to claw mania kingdom ,you will walk out with a bag full of plushies there.

Standard Round 1, but much needed for the Houston area. Japanese style arcade games with lots of crane games and very affordable snacks such as ice cream and Takoyaki! The plushies and figures in the crane games are higher quality than most other crane games in the area and feel a bit more fair.

dosent deserve the hate, im not good at arcades and won 2 things lol, point = money system is a bit steep but overall a fun experience, my personal experince with the staff that black lady (sorry idk her name) was a sweetheart!

While I love the rhythm games available here, they are impossible to play at the volume that they have them at. the arcade can be super loud at peak times and it makes gameplay rather difficult.

went for the first time today, and Joan P and Kyra B helped my experience be amazing!! They were so helpful and nice and cheered me on when I got a Miku prize lol

Nice location, easy access but I feel it was not worth the buck, other arcades in area where you can actually win prizes from the claws. Had alot of other games, nice food and prize area.

It's a smaller round1 but still a lot of fun! Their customer service is nice and very helpful. Excited Houston finally got a location.

Mike did an Incredible job modding the DDR machines and went out of his way to fix one of the pads when I alerted him to it - so glad to have a round1 nearby and staff that care about the community

The claws don't have grip. It's all a tease and waste of money. The only thing you can win at is the small machines and that's if you're lucky

Had such a fun time! Won 6 BIG prizes within an hour! I think the people leaving bad reviews just had no luck!

Not much variety not that interesting compared to other locations definitely not worth the money or hype they don't have machines that other locations mostly have and it's 30 dollars to play 7 games ??id rather go to Okashi another Japanese place for 20 dollars all day free play or Dave n busters atp def not spending abunch of money here again paid to be bored basically

I was at round1 at 1 am and the security guard there looked completely untrained and overweight I did not feel safe or secure at all. That security guard was most definitely not protecting anything.

i visited this place with my friends and the staff were all so friendly! a girl named angela served me my pizza and strawberry cheesecake ice cream and it was all so tasty! she was wonderful to us and we all really appreciated it alot! thanks so much angela!

They're changing how the games work and are making them harder anything with a claw is absolutely rigged.

Went to Houston?s first location today, I had a great time! Joan and Kyra were amazingg def give em a raise they were so helpful

Had so much fun! Excellent customer service and Maddy was so nice and professional! Great experience all around!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! THE STAFF WERE BEYOND RUDE THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING!!! A BUNCH OF HIGH SCHOOLERS IT SEEMS JOKING AND PLAYING ONE STARTED LAUGHING AT US WHEN WE KEPT LOSING AT THE CRANES!! FIRE EVERYONE AT THE FRONT DESK. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THAT THE BATHROOM WERE CLEAN!! IM TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO BOYCOTT THIS PLACE TILL STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK IS CHANGED AND THE FOOD IS NASTY SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

This place sucks the claw Machines don't grip properly, a d when you do get a prize it drops it as soon as it hits the top don't waste your money here.

I always have fun here and love the games but I really like is the snack bar!

My son's really enjoyed the games and my oldest came back with his friends a day ago to help celebrate a birthday

Great place, lots of grab claw machines and games to play. It cost a lot more than other places.

Reviews are not lying. Half the games don't work and it's way too expensive for 20 minutes of play.

Staff was friendly and ice cream was cheap, cool games and new games to play, but holy are the claw games expensive and impossible to win.

4/5 times the claw machines are horribly rigged and over priced.

All the claw machines are rigged.???? Don't waste your time, or money.???????

Its pretty expensive to play but NO BAGS? How do you expect me to play holding stuffed animals in my arm?

Very fun arcade place. Love the variety of rhythm games available

Good idea, but waste of money, claw machines barley payout, has limited ticket winning machines

I went today I had so much fun I definitely recommend going again

Horrible place! Claw machines are rigged!

Happy because they have the Pump it Up 2024!!!!!!! DDR and more!

Looked cool just walking through to get to mall

Fun day with family and won lots of prizes

Best place to play the latest Version of Dance Dance Revolution

To rigged and first and last time coming here

Expensive, stingy with prizes

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
