Great selection of Old School Arcade Games. $14.95 per person for an armband. You can play until your eyes are crossed. VR Games are available. Extra $7 per person. It's worth the drive from Huntsville.
This was one of the greatest ideas in the history of gaming history. I love that I can play all of the games that I played as a kid for hours. It was very fun to get our son involved. He had a great time. We spent a few hours in the arcade and we will be back with friends. My only critique would be that with all of those machines in there it os very warm there weren't very many people so I know it has to be the machines warming it up and when old machines get hot the can start to break down more easily. I w
Love this place! Reminds me of the old Classic Pizza and Arcade
Lots of fun for all ages. All day play prices were a good deal. If you're a mom and you tell them rocket city mom they'll give you a discount. The fort battle game was fun but not worth $20 a pop. Germ x stations are needed throughout the place. Overall we enjoyed it and will be back.
Two rooms of arcade games. Pretty affordable at all you can play for $15. My 11 year old enjoyed it but got bored of the games easily. Not the facilities fault, these young kids just don't know about these good old timey games! It would be nice if they had a comfy room for adults to chill while their kids play though. But all in all, a good time. I'm sure we will be back!
We had a good time here. They had a bunch of classic games, and some games I've never played like Pac City. They even had a N64 set up with the orginal Smash Brothers and a Nintendo with Mario Brothers. I destroyed everyone playing Cruising the USA and that hydro boat racing game again. We beat the Hoise of Dead as a family. I just wish they had more of pinball machine selection. They are only open on the weekends and an all day band is only like $15 a piece.
A fantastic place to spend an afternoon or even the whole day! The front of the store is your normal used game store with a great selection and clearly marked prices. The arcade museum section is the best part, after paying for an all day armband you can play any game you want as much as you want. The available games rotates throughout the year, so if you haven't been by in a bit I recommend checking them out again, I know I will!
Super cool retro arcade games, and $12 to play all day with no need to bother with tokens is a good deal. They also had current day consoles, games and VR headsets so you have many options. VR and laser tag cost extra though.
Fun! One price for all day play. $13.00 per person and can come and go all day. They have computer, classic arcade games and VR games. While they have a lot of games..Limited selection of the popular classic games. Friendly staff.
Extensive selection of your favorite games arcade games to play and used console games to buy. Parents, ask and they'll let you walk to the back where there are a few tables to sit at while you wait. We've had inconsistent interactions with staff - some of them seem to tire of interacting with customers.
Had a great time with our kids. 4 year old twins and my 6 year old daughter. We did VR rides and all the whole arcade. The twins got a little rowdy at times, and the staff was nice and considerate. The set up is old school stuff except the VR. Was clean and spacious. Will definitely go back,
I had an awesome time playing VR games there. Classic arcade games are fun but what I really got into were the arena style multi-player virtual reality games and the VR roller coaster rides. One of them scared the mess out of me because it had "real" surprises! The staff there are friendly and helpful. It's one of Huntsville's best kept secrets and worth the trip to see.
Excellent place. Definitely overlooked by most. I could spend days in here. Every kid that ever loved the old school arcades will feel at home here
I had a lot of fun visiting this place. 10$ to play as much as you want on classic style video games. Friendly staff and lots of fun. Would definitely recommend coming here!
Forced me to spend way to much by having some killer retro games for sale. Then twisted my arm and forces me to plan on coming back for more. All kidding aside, great store, nice staff, and awesome atmosphere. Didn't get to visit the arcade side but for afar it looked quite stacked as well.
Fully enjoyed the classic machines. Well maintained. Two good pinball machines too. Could have stayed all day.
Had an amazing time for sons birthday! All of the kids and adults enjoyed it.
Went for the VR experience which was really cool and would recommend for sure. There wasn't a lot of Covid distancing and such going on which made me nervous for my son but otherwise pretty fun place to visit!
Great for VR, not so great everything else. Came for pinball, but they only had maybe 2 tables and a few cabinets. I assume the photos on google maps are old. Pretty much all they have is VR stuff which all costs extra per hour beyond the $15 door fee. We stayed less than an hour.
Great selection of games. Everything from pinball to racing games. It was a great day at a reasonable price.
Had a pretty good time but several of the games joysticks didn't work well or a button wouldn't work making gameplay difficult. Only had three consoles hooked up to play. Drove over an hour and while it was fun it wasn't quite worth the drive.
Been there twice, had a great time and was well-priced. The first was a birthday, the second was just for fun. great selection of games, some I've never seen before. VR selections are coming fun as well. 6 player VR arena was great, and the kids had a blast. soon they have 3-person Indie car racing, which we will go back for.
I am very sad that this Arcade place had closed down for good...This really makes this new year of 2021, already rough as hell. For a 12$ entry. (Almost 14$ after taxes.) it's a bit steep, but fair price. Best when you visit to play arcade games for 2 plus hours. (the longer you stay. the better the money's worth.) The Snacks and drinks are solid. but rather a bit overpriced. ($1.50 for a can of soda. that's lame.) But that won't matter since the place is gone. Other than some flaws. It's a very solid pl
We enjoyed our visit. It's great to find a place that is family friendly, and encourages even younger children to experience their games and game systems. The ability to pay once and play all day was much more convenient than having to tote coins around everywhere. A few of the games were not working when we were there, which is the reason for the 4 star review, but I understand the owners are still getting their business up and running. We'll definitely return, and if the games are all working, I'll add a
Friendly staff and neat place, but they do not have what I would consider good hourly rates for game play during much of the day. I took my two kids (grade school level) to play in the afternoon, and there were not many people there playing. I asked how much to play for 1 hour and was told $11 per person for a total of $33 for one hour. That's pretty expensive for such a short play time. We left without playing. I have been here once before and it is a fun, friendly place to take kids for some classic gamin
Had my son's 13th birthday here. So inexpensive compared to other facilities for a birthday party. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Loved the free play feature on all the games. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults remembering our childhood with the retro games.
Booked for my daughters sixth birthday and we had a great time! We had a Stranger Things themed party and they went out of their way to work with our theme! The kids loved the VR game and the parents had plenty of fun too! Can not wait to come back with just the adults! The staff was very cool and incredibly nice! Thanks for the memories!
Fantastic place. We go there usually once a month. I play old arcade games, the wife plays pinball, and our little one goes to the console room and plays Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart with a bunch of other kids. When we're done we walk right down to Three Scoops and get ice cream. It's a blast every time.
the most bang for your buck out of any arcade in madison county! the building is huge and always clean, the staff is kind and knowledgable about what they do, and they have tons of options- From VR, to Classic Arcade Machines, to prize machines, you can't go wrong with hanging out at Rocket City Arcade.
$12 all day all you can play. We love this place. If you have nothing else to do on a hot summer day or grey winter afternoon, this arcade should keep you entertained for hours. Hungry, want to try something else? Not a problem. You can return anytime free of charge on the same day. They have a wide range of games to play and there seems to always be something new that they have added.
We had a great time playing games. I had never been to an arcade like this before. We really enjoyed seeing all the vintage games. It was like being a kid all over again. I got to introduce my son to these games he had never seen. This place was busy and I loved that we could come and go all day with our wrist bands. The is a great concept.
This place is awesome! So many old arcade games that were a pleasure to play. And then there's the console room that has all the different systems set up so you can play those as well. Lastly, they have games for sale too. I found a game I had been searching for for years and got it at a great price. We really loved this place and at $10 All Day Play, you really can't beat it!
Not exactly as advertised. No retro consoles or games for sale. No pictures outside of VR are accurate from the Google business page. Maybe 15 arcade machines, 2 pinball machines, and about 7 or 8 VR (extra cost). Unfortunately a very underwhelming experience.
My husband, son, and I had a great time here. It was truly a blast from the past for my husband and I! My son absolutely loved the pinball machines and also the chance to play an "old school" Nintendo. We'll definitely be making more visits
Very nice people! I had fun when I went with my friends about a week ago. The employee with the longer dark hair was very nice! They have a great selection of games! I only wish I had spent more time there!
Best Arcade in the Tennessee Valley in my book! Has classic machines set to free play all day! My favorites being root beer on tap, Super Mario Bros., and Pac-Man! There are racing simulators and classic racing arcade sets. VR is available, for an extra cost! If you have been wanting to try VR, come here!
Me and my gf went for the all day arcade and spent about 2 hours here. For the price, it's a pretty cool experience. The VR and fort battle experience is much too expensive, I wouldn't recommend doing it. Everything worked properly with the exception of one of the four pinball machines and one arcade machine. This place is definitely worth a visit for the arcade, but anything else, including the merchandise, is much too expensive.
The value far outweighs what you pay. You Really need to try this place out if you're into classic fun. It's also nice to have a place you can purchase games for classic systems. Overall great experience everytime and a truly dedicated staff/management. The fun is amplified when you go with a group of friends.
Hands down, the only place me and my family go go games, both new and old! Their selection is unbeatable and prices are unmatched. Their retro arcade consists of games/pinball games that range from the 1970's-1990's. Their VR also makes for a unique experience that no other place can match! The prices for the arcade or more than reasonable and the VR booths and Game console rooms are also fairly priced!
To go and play video games for $11 for all day is great, but it's too expensive for a birthday party. They only have 1 birthday party room. One of the employees was kind of stalking the room when it got close to the 1 hour room time being up. She was standing in the doorway watching us from 45 minutes until time was up. Their Fort battle is kind of sad. It's just 2 walls that are roped off that kids shoot at each other through. But they are not allowed to come from behind the walls. They have to shoot at
Update: my son was undeterred and wanted to go back and check out the new location after the nice response we got to my earlier review and it did not disappoint!!! This place is packed with amazing authentic vintage machines and will be awesome when it opens!! If you are even remotely interested in video games or appreciate vintage items, you have to see it!
For 10$, all you can play? This place is great! They sell consoles, and hand helds as well. Large selection of games from many platforms. The arcade itself is pretty great for the price. I definitely didn't leave feeling like I had spent too much money for what we got. Kuddos to the owner for letting me relive my childhood in a legitimate arcade!
Really nice old school arcade, only dropped off a star because I wish there had been more than 2 pinball machines and a couple of the games weren't fully functioning. It was nice that there was a small seating area while waiting for the kids to finish.
Re-review. We had a wonderful time shopping for games here. Hubby found some games that he has been looking for and not able to find. The staff was extremely friendly. We did not use any of the game areas although they looked really neat the way they were set up. I apologise to the owner and staff for my initial mix up in reviews.
Way overpriced! Don't bother with the VR, it's slow and doesn't let you play long enough for the price. It's also very uncomfortable. The staff seemed chill except for the skinny kid with the glasses that insisted on telling me how much of an idiot I was for thinking the graphics on the VR were subpar compared to the psVR. Also, it smelled like somebody pooped their pants lmao. It's a waste of money, just play games at home.
This place is wonderful to take your kids during the summer!! I highly recommend this place! I also had a chance to play a VR experience for ten minutes for only $10! They also had a great assortment of arcade games! I recommend the bowling game near the DigDug machine. Staff is helpful and very friendly! Will be coming back soon!
Lot's of games to choose from. Friendly staff. You can also have party's here
Friendly clerk, great selection of games and consoles ranging from Atari to current gen, including handheld games for very reasonable prices. Left with a bag of goodies and, although the arcade section may seem small from the outside, is packed with oldies-but-goodies that all looked to be in good working order. Can't wait to visit again soon!
They keep the place clean and the cabinets running. VR stations are neat and well priced. However, I do not suggest buying games from them. I bought a copy of Final Fantasy VII and every disc was covered in residue - literally like a white paste. I cleaned it off and now the game will not load at all. Have not contacted them about returns, but I am disgusted and upset.
Unlimited arcade game play for only $13!
Went here on my birthday and had a blast. Great price and you can go get food and come back because they give you a wrist band to wear for the day. 10 bucks lets you play all the arcade games you want all day long.
Great place for family fun. Love the chance to play these classic games! Hard to find a better way to spend an afternoon as a family. So glad it is reopened and definitely worth the drive.
Just an awesome place with awesome old school games to jog the old memory and how to play the games from way back like punch out and donkey kong to name a few. I was so stoked to see root beer tapper. A ton of fun with a class act owner. I drove with my wife from Tullahoma Tennessee just to go to this place and the long ride was definitely worth it. If you're thinking of going here don't hesitate. You will not be disappointed in the way this business has preserved the old school way of life we had back in t
Lovely shop with very friendly service that buys, sells and trades gently used video games. I have sold games to them and it was a much better exchange then going to somewhere like GameStop. They also have a large arcade and console room where you pay for open play on any games you want. In general it was a really positive experience with people that genuinely care about video games.
Their no mask, no problem policy is why I will no longer give them my business. My son and I went last night so that he could spend a gift card he received for Christmas last year. Neither employee was wearing a mask and the couple of customers I saw were not either. Not only were the employees not masked, but one of them was consistently leaning over the counter talking to us while my son was looking at items in the display case. There is a sign on the door saying ?no mask, no problem.? The owner?s previou
They have a mediocre variety of the retro arcade style games, however I did find a few favorite throwbacks. I really liked the concept of a single door charge with all you can play. Plus, service was knowledgable & friendly. They sell original & retrofitted consoles & games! They DO have VR at an extra charge , but for a very short time span. VR not worth the $$$ imo.
Great value! I love bringing the kid here for an afternoon. One reasonable price and you can play whatever you want as many times as you want. Good selection of pinball machines and classic arcade games.
We went for the first time yesturday and my 6 year old looooves this place???. We went there twice yesturday and spent more than 2 hours there each time. It's a great social environment and we met some new awesome friendly people. Me and my son even sat down and played a board game. I love how we can come and go and our admission is still valid for the whole day. I am signining my son up for a month of arcade play today. $40 for one month is too good to be true but it is!!. My car is not working because of
Very friendly and informative staff, systems are all well cared for, and the wrist band access to the arcade games at only 11$ a person really sets the standard. Great place for nostalgic gameplay, or to mess around with modern VRs/various consoles.
I'm an old school gamer so this place spoke my language. From Arcade style coin ops to the console games, I spent three hours here playing with my kids. Three VR rooms let us try our hand(s) at the latest gaming technology. If you are wanting to take the fun home with you, they have all kinds of retro gaming systems and games for sale. Perfect for a sunday afternoon.
Visited their new location today and it's way bigger than the 2 places before! They had a first 100 would get a free video game and some goodies unfourtunaley I nearly made it to the first 100 like the guy in front of me got the last bag lol regardless I had a blast and the new location it's awesome! They guys that work there and the owner always friendly and helpful they always put a smile on my face. Best retro game store/arcade in Alabama hands down!
Walked in and employee behind the desk was not wearing a mask. Getting sick and joining 200,000+ dead Americans is not worth a Dreamcast game. Edit: After a month it seems the owner still allows patrons to enter without a face covering, which is a shame. Sadly I can't offer any alternatives for the arcade experience. However, for older game system I can recommend Gamer's Paradise on Highway 72. All their employees wear masks and as far as I am aware, face coverings are required in their store.
Had alot of fun with my honey, the classic games that we came for kept us their way too long, but totally worth it. Has a cool setup also for a touch of newer VR technology as well, although you do have to pay extra for that but worth it also.
Guys, this place is incredible! And Aaron is awesome. He went SO far and beyond to help me that I find myself unable to articulate my gratitude. Hopefully my 5 star review, referrals, future patronage and my appreciation is a start. THANK YOU SO MUCH??
Me & my brother enjoyed ourselves playing the arcade console games during the weekend & it's our first visit & it sure brings me back for what I used to do in my childhood to teen years to play the games.
Awesome selection of games, for the tiny area they have for them it was jam backed with early 2000s games of all types. The arcade was also very nice. If I wasnt 25 and it hadn't been full of kids I would've been all over it.
So my wife took me here as a christmas preaent and wow! This place is amazing! They offer snacks and beverages along with a few tables to sit down at. They have like every classic arcade game you can imagine. Games like Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Frogger, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Space-Invaders, Dig Dug, Galaga, Rampage, and much much more. They offer a console room that has a NES, Super NES, N64, a GameCube, a Playstation 2, 3, and an Xbox360. They have 3 fully immersive VR stations with a list of games to
I am a huge fan of freeplay retro arcades, and I completely understand the challenges of acquiring and maintaining these decades-old machines, however I was left a little disappointed by Rocket City. The selection of classic games, in and of itself, isn't that great - perhaps due to the limited amount of space the business has. What games they do have aren't in great condition. Several games were out of order entirely, and others were activated, but unplayable due to mechanical issues. For example, of the
Arent many arcades in hunstville but this is definitely the best. Pay by the hour, has VR headsets with games like beat saber, a 3d sculpting game and other great titles. The Wii has great titles like Mario kart smash bros and several other fun games. Is constantly getting new games and has several great restaurants connected to it. Definitely a great place to bring your kids or even reminisce with your friends.
Really enjoyed the games, they have 4-5 pinball machines, and lots of arcade cabinets that they periodically rotate in and out. Have been four times now, across two different days nearly a month apart, and they changed out at least 10 cabinets that I could recall. So far, I've always seen Cruisin' USA & World, Hydro Thunder, Pac-Man, DDR, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Tron, several shooter games, several side scrolling space shooters, a handful of fighting games, and many more They also have a console room, and i
The Classic Game Vault is a wonderful place that takes you to the height of the video game era, from the magnificent original cabinet games in their arcade, to an astounding variety of home console games for purchase at perfectly reasonable prices. I have never had a bad experience in this store and doubt I ever will.
Pretty fun. Usually a good crowd. The cabinets are all pretty old, so sometimes the controls don't respond well. I've gone twice, and would go again. It's a good time.
This place will be great fun for all you retro gamers, and fir.kids to actually have a chance to play on old school machines and cabinets. They also sell games/accessories that are difficult to find. I have this one 4/5 because I was sold a wii controller that wasn't working. It was replaced with minimal effort, but a long extra drive for me.
This arcade is a fantastic place to go if your looking for fun. It has some of the greatest arcade games from the 80's and 90's as well as one of the best vr experiences you can try. And with a great selection of console games to play and buy, pc gaming esports, and great hospitality, this makes for one of the best places to visit in Huntsville.
A local jewel. Great employees who are very helpful and knowledgeable. You can buy used consoles, and play a huge variety of both classic, new, and virtual reality games. Great date idea for genXers like me and you young ones will love it too. Check it out dont miss.
Lots of fun. Opening soon. We were able to do a test run with our Royal Rangers group. Thanks for letting us have the run of the place.
Was excited to try this place out, but then I saw the "no mask no problem" sign. Turned around immediately. Unfortunate. If I didn't see the sign I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but promoting the pandemic just isn't for me. Perhaps if you take the sign down you could get more customers. Edit: The owner claims his policy is no different from any other store, that places like Walmart, Lowe's, or any place else's is 'no mask, no problem'. This isn't true. There's a mandate state-wide. If there are peo
If your an 80's or 90's kid that played games at the skating rink or mall arcade, this place is really great. It has 3 VR booths for the new generation. $11 lets you play arcade and pinball games all day on the weekends. Def going back.
We went early and played. Had so much fun we went back later the same evening.
This place is absolutely awesome! You can buy games the front, you can play fortnite themed laser tag, OR you can pay $11 and have unlimited play on arcade games from the '80s & '90s. My son and I had a blast!
Lots of old video games but only 4 pinball machines. By the advertisement I thought there would be more pinball. Two of the 4 were broken and when we notified the staff we were told they had been down for a while and someone was going to have to come fix them. The games looked pretty beat up for the most part but they still worked. Over all pretty pleased with the arcade part but if you want pinball. This is not the place for you.
Awesome place. I love being able to play the arcade games that I played as a kid. The owner's are very nice. Highly recommend.
Many classic arcade games, only a few pinball machines. They do have a VR setup, but it's an extra cost. We did not try it.
Great place to enjoy some retro arcade games and hang out. The staff is friendly and helpful. Specifically, employees Justin and Music were kind and attentive when dealing with my daughter who is sometimes difficult.
As classic video game arcades become scarce, the Classic Game Vault is a welcome respite for gamers of all ages. There is a small but good assortment of games for sale compatible with any console. The DDR machine is in unusually good condition with a sensitive dance pad!
Pretty good selection of games from the 80s to the late 90s. There are a few pinball machines also. They have a couple VR stations (HTC Vive) but you have to pay extra to play. I wish that they had a small snack bar and some tables to sit down at.
TL;DR: return policy sucks, employees give bad advice on buying consoles and testing games. Sold me a fat PS2 with a controller with a broken rumble pack. The controller violently shakes where proper controllers barely rumble. Sold a friend of mine a fighting game on PS2, it wouldn't work with my PS2. Refused to give a refund when we tried to return, claimed to test the game out and said it worked, but when we tried playing the game on a good condition PS2 slim, had the same problem. So all in all I got a
$10.90 to play all day, be able to leave, go eat, and come back... Such a large selection of arcades, and a great selection of consoles in their "Ultimate" Game Room... You really can't beat this price. They also have a huge selection of used games from ps4 to atari... You just can't go wrong here. Whether you like the new stuff or you are a fan of the older stuff... This place is for you, hands down... Love it. Where else can you play Rock Band on the 360, then Smash Brothers for the Wii U, then buy a Game
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
