This place is Awesome! I had such a blast! I wish there was a place like this back in BR. You can get a half hour wristband and an hour wristband for $10 or play all day for $20.

Now I know how this awesome pinball arcade got its name. The place rolls... and Ernie, the owner...well...he rocks! Took my wife, daughter, and two grandkids to Rock 'N Roll on Friday, 12-27-24, where we had just a really fun time. Ernie even started a little pinball competition (tournament as he calls it) amongst our group with 'sweet' surprises as the reward. And you can't beat the price for hours of play time in this pinball players paradise. A super family fun spot! You are running a great business ther

This place is awesome! We went for father's day and had a ton of fun. Staff is friendly, machines are well maintained. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go spend a couple fun hours in Opelika!

I can't believe how clean and stylish this place is. The machines are all well maintained and the employees all have a deep knowledge of pinball and the machines there. The staff is very....VERY friendly. I love going to this place and I have to drive over two hours to get here. There is also a small area in the back where they serve alcohol, have bands play, or do other events. This is one of the best places to go in Opelika.

We (Rick, Pam, Gabby, Chris, Gale and Oakley, a multi-generational family from 68 to 12) made our first visit to R&R yesterday. We arrived a few minutes before opening, and were greeted by Ernie Banks as he opened. Ernie made us feel right at home immediately. Y?all, every one of us had a blast, and Ernie was largely responsible. From showing us the premises (including the ?Jail?), to pushing us (gently) to participate in a friendly family pinball tournament, this was absolutely the finest hour our family

Visited for the first time when R&R hosted the woman's state championship. Great machines, lots of variety and countless hours of pinball FUN! The staff is friendly and welcoming and the facilities are clean! Ernie and the wonderful bar staff in the back really made it special. <3 I live in Pensacola, but I cannot wait to get back here for a weekend of fun!

Not really my vibe we was killing time but it was a fun experience I havnt played those vintage .machines in a very long time well worth the money spent

I had never even heard of this place, but a friend wanted to meet up here to celebrate her birthday and I was very impressed! I was worried about not having cash for the machines, but they're set up for free play. You just buy a wristband for how long you want to play and just go! My other friend and I got there a bit early before my birthday friend got there, and Ernie was great and let us play for free while we waited. I can't express enough how friendly Ernie is. He gave us a tour of the building and sho

It is a pay by the hour for endless use of the pinball machines. Some were being worked on and one was having problem with a flipper. That said, it was so much fun! We played together and singularly, depending on the games and how we were wanting to play. The time slipped away quickly. We look forward to returning and having more fun!

In the heart of Opelika, Alabama, a captivating blend of music, history, and entertainment awaits at Rock ?n Roll Pinball. This unique venue offers far more than your average pinball arcade. Led by the passionate and knowledgeable owner, Ernie Rains, it's a haven for Pinball enthusiasts, a live music venue and one of the proud hosts of the Opelika Songwriters Festival. And as if that weren't enough, it's also home to a spectacular Stevie Nicks mural that adds a touch of rock ?n roll mystique. Make sure you

Do you enjoy a good, well serviced pinball machine? Then come here! Lining the walls are pinball machines from all eras. And you can catch a break at the bar out back. If you're lucky there's a band on stage that night too. I've only been three times. Every time a success!

If you enjoy pinball this is definitely the best I've ever seen. If you are not familiar with pinball you will be a fan when you leave. They have some of the best titles or themes of the game. Should definitely check it out and give it a try.

Just a very cool place to hang out in Opelika. Over 25 pinball machines, a bar area in the back called The Jailhouse with something going on every night. No quarters needed to play. $7.00 for a half hour, $10.00 per hour or $20.00 to play all day! If you visit as much as I do, you can purchase a 6 month pass and play anytime as long as you want. The owner is cool and will even join you in a game. A gem in Opelika!

What an amazing place! Pinball machines everywhere! This place is family friendly, clean, the staff was awesome, and the price is great! I took my family for a few hours and we all really enjoyed it. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a throw back afternoon or evening of old school pinball.

We had a great time at Rock and Roll pinball, what a cool concept and great location, formerly the Opelika Jail will now set you free! You will love this establishment we promise you!

Took our 8yo twins. It was a quiet night there and we were able to try out all the different kinds of pinball machines. It's such a fun place with so many different kinds to play. We paid for an hour ($10/ person) and that was the perfect amount of time. By the end the kids were getting restless and wanted to play the old school video game machine. Such a cute place- very dog friendly and next time we'll bring our pup along.

Cool spot! You can play all the pinball you want for $20 or $10 per hour! Also, a bar in the back with bands playing. Really cool hangout!

Ernie is an incredible human who is very welcoming to everyone who walks in his business. He was kind enough to put on a tournament for some friends and I while we visited and gave out prizes to those of us who won! Just over all a good person and great business that employees great people. Thanks Gayla and Ernie! We appreciate you!

Went today for the first time with my brother in-law and nephews. The place is awesome!! Very nostalgic for us older guys who grew up on pinball. Great selection of machines!! The Owner dealt with us today and showed us the ins and outs of the place and the games. Absolutely a must go!!

Had a great time taking an ex girlfriend's kids. Won them over. Now they give her he'll because she lost me and is too lazy to take them herself. 5 stars!!!

We met the owner, Ernie, a really nice guy! It was our first visit to the town. Not only did he show us his amazing Pinball Arcade, complete with wall-to-wall pinball machines, as well as a drink bar and live music area, but he also took the time to tell us about all the other great places to visit while we were there. I can't wait to come back and spend more time.

AMAZING! I love love love this place. Me and my family came and Ernie was amazing. He set up a whole tournament for me and family which made it so much fun. I'm so glad he brought this to the area. Thank you Ernie you're awesome!

Great place! Super friendly staff and a lot of well-maintained pins to play. Will definitely be back.

That was nice to be transported to my younger days! Lol! I have never seen pinball games this many in the same room before! Lol! But It would have been extra awesome if there's other games other than just pinball! There's a bar in the very back. I regretted that I ordered pi?a colada! That was bad! The bar tender said they have events or shows in the bar in different days such as karaoke night, comedy night, movie night and some singers play/sings there as well.

Rock 'N Roll Pinball is one of our favorite places to visit. Ernie truly loves pinball and people..he makes you feel welcome every time. Today he pulled us together in a tournament with a couple of other visitors and we had the best time. Attack from Mars is my favorite machine but today Ernie introduced me to Aerosmith which is now a close second on my list. Thank you Ernie, see you again soon!

Rock N Roll pinball comes at you with a VIP rock experience at general admission prices. This is one of the best pinball locations left in the good ol' US of A. It's a destination location that's not too far from the highway. The machines were spectacularly taken care of so you'll get the best pinball play possible, they have leagues and it's a great community that goes to this location. The staff that works there puts so much heart into their pinball passion and it shows. Speaking of shows they also ha

Cool place with a variety of new and vintage pinball games. Also a small back patio, bar, and live music stage.

So much fun!! Clean & neat. Owner was so gracious, kind and helpful !! We just finished my son?s birthday and all 19 of the kids had a blast. entertained the whole time. Thank you to Mr. Ernie it was ?the best birthday ever!!? The place was so cool! And well styled too!

We had a great time here today! All of the staff were super friendly.

I finally got around to taking my niece to rock and roll pinball. I've been telling Ernie that I'd take her for a while. We had so much fun competing against each other. I was impressed by how many different pinball games that were there. It was really nostalgic for me and I was able to teach her how to play. It was a good price for the time limit. We will definitely be back.

I've really enjoyed coming here to have a great time whenever my family are in town. The games are great, workers are always very kind. Definitely worth a visit.

so much fun. glad i found this place

Stumbled onto this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised! The owner was super friendly, the machines were in great condition and we got a fun little history lesson about pinball machines. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and will be going back.

SO much fun and very affordable. Pay by the hour or day so there's no jumbling for quarters or tokens. Really inexpensive bar with creative drinks. Go play the classics and more. If nothing else, drop by to see what the game of the week is!

Great selection of very well-maintained machines. Friendly owner and happy staff in a relaxed area of town with good food all around. $20 to play all night on this quality of equipment is a fair deal. Took a break and went to the "Jailhouse" in the back for live music, great taco bar and a cool rock garden. Looking forward to Tuesday night tournament and league play.

We had a lot of fun playing pinball here. Fun machines, great atmosphere, friendly staff!

This was the most fun experience I've had in a long time. Ernie set up a tournament for me and my friends today and we played almost every machine in there! This is my first time being so impressed with somewhere that I felt the need to review!! Will be back to this place? had more fun than I could?ve imagined! Thank you to Ernie for showing us the world of pinball. Rock on!

Definitely a huge recommendation for anyone who loves pinball! When I went, it was lots of fun, the atmosphere was electric, and the endless pinball was like a kid's dream come true. 5 stars!

This place was a blast.

Great atmosphere! New and retro pinball machines of all calibers

Awesome place to visit. Pinball games & live Entertainment in the "Jailhouse".

What a gorgeous arcade, a ton of care goes into these machines. I can't recommend this place enough!

Excellent selection of games. Also GREAT not to have to dig out quarters. Machines are in excellent working order. The staff is super helpful. The facility is clean and well decorated. With the Jailhouse bar in the back selling a couple of beers, this place makes for an awesome fun night. This old girl partied like it's the '70s or '80s!

This place is one of the best pinball arcades in the South. Great games in top of the line shape.

Had a great time here, lots of different games to play, nice patio out back and a seperate room for live music!

Always a wonderful place to visit. Prices are reasonable. Family friendly environment. Great employees and owner loves his customers!

Got there at 10:50 pm and the attendant started turning off the pinball machine at 11:20pm so I didn't even get to play half of them.bad time to go I'm guessing

Ernie and the staff are great!! We have such a great time whether we're just chatting or, in my case, meeting new people, watching everyone playing the pinball or arcade games!! The Jailhouse in back is also a hopping place for bands, movies, karaoke ??, open mic, dancing, fun people, and more!! Thanks, everyone, for all the good times and more coming up in the future!!

Ernie is the coolest!! Nicest owner, friendliest and most inviting atmosphere, and crazy awesome prices!! Gotta make a stop here!!

Location was great, lots of well maintained machines, and friendly staff.

I've been to so many pinball arcades. Seriously a lot of them. Rock and roll pinball is one of the best venues I've ever visited. Why? They have a great collection of pinball machines, all in great condition. The place looks amazing. Their one price structure makes it just fun to play however long you like. They have beer, wine, a full bar, and nibbles. They have live music in a room in the back called the jailhouse. The employees are all so cool. The owner is one of the chillest, nicest, friendliest people

Ernie is the man. Super cool dude and you can tell he loves what he does. He showed me and my friend a few different machines (has 30+, I recommend Beetles, Deadpool, and Ironman!) and educated us on the strategy of each game. The dude has big plans for the place and you can tell everyone has a good time. In addition to the pinball, he's got a cool bar out back that hosts lots of events. Definitely going to come back for some karaoke. Thanks for the good time, Ernie!

We absolutely love spending a Friday or Saturday night playing pinball here. With a $20 all day pass I usually play until my feet hurt from standing up for so long. With how many different games there are I can hop from machine to machine and never get bored. We also got to check out the bar that opened up in the back last week for open mic night and the vibe was super chill. Everyone there was very friendly, it was a wonderful way to get out of the house for the night with my husband and listen to some goo

Love the games and the jailhouse out back. Karaoke and open mic are great

This is a really cool place! You pay a flat rate and can play for an hour or all day. Over 30 different Pinball machines, with up to 4 players on all of them, for the ultimate Pinball experience. Ernie (the Owner) is a super cool guy and took lots of time with us to explain everything and give us a background on the place. They've got live music, beer, wine, sodas, snacks, and are working on a liquor license. Totally cool place an experience. Definitely a place we will be going back to! 10/10 - Highly rec

Love this place gotta try it very clean and well kept games..popcorn and cotton candy with drinks and other snacks the owner is awesome to just all around love it

Awesome place. Will come again.

This is a great establishment! Ernie and his staff are extremely friendly and personable! Machines are well taken care of! Restrooms are very clean! 10/10 recommend for some nostalgic fun!

Love this place. Ernie is a wonderful man and all the staff are super friendly, welcoming, and do an amazing job!

The Pinball Machines are a blast from the past! These machines are in mint condition. I've NEVER seen pinball machines like these ever before. Plus you just play by the hour so no coins to deal with, but treat these machines with kid gloves cuz you'll never see another one like it.

At first I thought it was expensive at $8 per hour. However I learned that an hour of pinball on classic pinball machines is a lot of work and some of the best fun I have had in years. We came from Columbus and can't wait to go back. My only concern about a good review is that it will get very popular and too many people will go! Great Place..lots of fun and worth every cent.

We were visiting friends from Atlanta yesterday for a day trip and they told us about this gem! We brought all of our kids and the owner was so so friendly and respectful considering these are beautiful vintage pinball machines and we had small children with us . He showed them how to play and was very attentive . They have snacks and drinks for all ages . He also gave them some awesome souvineers at the end ( vintage comic books and hot wheels to choose from) . This made our trip so memorable ! I saw there

We had such an awesome time and Ernie was an awesome host! It was a rainy day and we were looking for something fun to do indoors when I came across Rock 'n Roll Pinball on the CVB Website. My daughter had never played pinball and Ernie was so kind giving her the tips she needed to beat her Dad! The atmosphere is fun for the whole family and the bar would make this a great place to spend an evening! Thanks for an awesome time!

Great selection of pinball machines. Priced reasonably to play any/all of them either for an hour or all day.

Rock N' Roll Pinball hosted a birthday party for our 8 year old. All of his friends (and parents) had the best time trying out all the machines. Atmosphere is on-point and the staff very friendly. Would do this again. Highly recommend!

Amazing place which we stumbled on too. Didn't even know it was located here and we are glad we stopped in. I believe it was the owner we talked too and he was a very nice guy and we enjoyed his mini-tour of the place (was that once an old jail in the back-to be determined). The price to play is very reasonable and they even have adult beverages to consume while you play all the different pin ball machines. I use to work in an actual video game room, back in the day, so this was really cool to visit these m

This place is so much fun! The owner was helpful and personable. There were so many awesome pinball machines to choose from. There were 4 of us and we each had a different favorite. The favorites of our group were hot wheels, munsters, iron man, and jurrassic. We played for about 3 hours and had a blast on our family day. This is a perfect place to go for anyone who loves pinball or vintage video games.

Great vibes. Played some pinball and heard live music. Beer selection was good.

Absolutely brilliant. A beacon of fun. Massive props to Ernie for making my birthday special. Can't wait to return and catch a concert, because the pinball alone makes this a must for any future day-trips to town.

I love playing pinball with friends at Rock 'N Roll Pinball! Such a great variety of old and new pinball tables. The best value is the all-day pass.

Excellent place to bring the kids for a different gaming experience. Very clean and friendly staff.

I had an awesome time! The music was jamming and the arcade was a blast!

Went for first time. I guess hours of operation are optional cause they were not open when supposed to be. We stayed til after ?will return by? time indicated and still nobody.

We always have a good time here. The variety of pin ball machines are very neat, they are very well maintained and clean, and the gentleman who greets and cashes you out is very helpful and nice. We will be back again soon!

Dude. We adored this place and Ernie! My husband, friends, brother, and sister-in-law had the best time playing some pinball. ?? So much fun, and Ernie is just the sweetest, most friendly owner to be found. We may travel back to Opelika just for the pinball. ??

Their machines have been restored to where they look, feel, sound, and play like new. It wasn't a very enjoyable experience - similar to playing pinball on brand new machines in the 1970's or a PC. A friend's son was with me (who plays machines I have, and who wouldn't have been with me if I'd known they serve alcohol) and his first words after we left were "Well that kinda sucked." Nothing but hard flat surfaces everywhere, so music playing sounded really bad. Employees were friendly and helpful. Downtown

Super fun pinball arcade with vintage and new machines, definitely a blast to come with friends. And a really awesome music venue in the back! Definitely a unique and wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening!

We have been wanting to come ever since they opened. Finally made it today. The decor is amazing, lots of old stuff on the wall that takes me back to my childhood. My favorite machine is the Deadpool pinball machine! We will be back often!

If you are looking for a fun place for your family to have fun, or just some to unwind after long day of work this is the place to be at; Ernie and the crew will take care of you.

When I first got into the place, the atmosphere in there seems really cool and pretty decent where I won't be bothered by people and meet people by any chance who'll trigger my social anxiety. Well the atmosphere there is the complete opposite of what I anticipated before and I seem to have a great time and night of my life when I came there twice. They even have old classic pinball machines ranging from the 1970s to the modern pinball machines ranging all the way to 2010 (as far as I know). The music pinba

Always a hit (heehee)! I love the diversity of the games, which range from vintage-vintage to Gen-X vintage. The Aerosmith game is a favorite of mine, and my son enjoys the oldskool Ms. Pacman. Everyone is always chill. I mean, it's Pinball. It's fun. It exists simply to bring joy. Thank you all for doing what you do!

Rock'n'Roll pinball is great for all ages and has great deals on a great mix of beers too. You can also try games of all eras and this is the best spot to get your pinball fix in the Auburn-Opelika area. Machines are maintained once a week and there's even a back area for shows and such (which I have yet to enjoy since I am always there playing pinball the whole time)

Wonderful experience. Loved the variety of machines. Without the kids definitely enough around the area to play all day eat drink and get a hotel.

Great place and very friendly staff! Always a great time for the adults and kids alike! We love having our office only a few doors down from Rock 'N Roll Pinball!!!

This place is so much fun! I always have a great time whenever I come here! The employees and owner are some of the nicest people I've ever met! Highly recommend this place!!

Super awesome place!! The owner is super friendly and they greeted our dog with open arms and even provided us water for her. The pinball games are super fun and well maintained! Will definitely be back!!

Awsome and affordable! We go there and play some pinball then listen to whoever is playing. The staff is always friendly and helpful should we need anything. Highly recommended !!!

This place is awesome!! We have been taking our summer camp kids here for several weeks and the kids love it!! Ernie is a great host and always makes us fell special!! Go today!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
