We celebrated my husband?s 30th birthday here last weekend with a small group of friends. We had a blast and the staff was amazing! They were friendly and fast and the food was amazing. I had made an error with making a reservation and they were happy to accommodate us. The duck pin bowling was so fun and we plan to go back for the putt putt soon! A great addition to RH!
This is a great place. We went here just for fun with our little rascals 6 and 7 yo. The mini bowling was awesome and the food exceeded expectations! Generous portions and a wide variety of drinks. Staff are super friendly! A special thanks to Erin for taking such good care of us! I highly recommend ROAR for a fun night out for anyone!
We had lunch entrees on a Monday and did the free round of putt putt . Each hole had a different objective and made it fun! The space is very open which was nice for my little one to move around without bumping into anyone. Monday - Friday 11:30-3 buy an entree and get a free round of putt putt or 30 mins of free duck pin bowling . Def worth it !! I do recommend they add music. I don't recall there being any music on in the back ground. The place was very clean ! We will definitely be back!
Great casual atmosphere with arcade style mini golf and a decent little arcade. Pricing is expensive for 9 holes at $15/person and the arcade games at $1-2 for a 30 second game but if you are looking for a 2 hr date it's a great spot. We will definitely be back! We did not do the bowling or have any food so review above is just on arcade and mini golf.
Roar is pretty fun, but I can tell they haven't been open for long. Some kinks to work out because their POS systems were half down so the staff had to keep going to different places for us to pay. It was a little confusing figuring out how to pay/play and how it works. The staff were nice and the food was good. It was fun for my family to go and I could see it being a fun date spot too. I think given six months they could get things flowing smoothly.
Don't waste your time or money here. I stopped in yesterday with my son and even though there was only ONE table of customers in the whole place we decided to play a round of mini golf. I was told it would be $30 for the two of us to play but I ended up being charged $37.50 which wouldn't have been a huge deal except the semi animated game version of mini golf they have wasn't working properly. The only TWO employees in the whole spot couldn't figure it out and after about 15 frustrating minutes wasted I as
Stopped by to celebrate my daughter?s birthday and had the best time - so much that before we knew it 4hrs had gone by! We played mini golf (twice), bowling, and the arcade games. We had wings, southwest rolls, and chicken fingers - everything was fresh & hot. Staff was super accommodating and friendly, this is definitely our new go-to for fun and good vibes.
The mini bowling is a blast. Didn't really care for the putt putt, but overall, we had a good time. It's a bit pricey, so it's definitely not something for every weekend if you're on a budget.
Pros: - this is a decent size space and there was maybe 5 other people here besides us. Since it's a new place I'm guessing it will get more crowded but as expected with a new place at least everything felt new and clean and it was nice not having to wait for anything. - service was friendly and attentive - food was mostly pretty good - didn't run into any mechanical issues with bowling and got through an hour with no issues. Cons: - as others have mentioned the vibe just seems odd here. Maybe it's becaus
Not sure what's going on here, where to start. First we walk in, 4 servers standing at the bar, place is empty, and they just stare at us?. So I walked up and asked if we are to just seat ourselves ? . Service was rough, it was literally no one there, server never checked on our drinks or food, would have to call her over to help. It was rough. Food was ok, nothing to rave about, and not bad enough to complain about . The putt putt smh, we paid $15/person, just for half of the course not working p
We enjoyed our time at ROAR! We tried everything out, arcade games, mini golf, and the duck pin bowling. The bowling was by far out favorite! We had food and a couple of drinks also. The food and service were great. A little pricey for us, so won't be a regular outing place, but would return for special events.
I love going to this place. It's something new. Rock Hill has needed something new. Love the indoor Putt-Putt since they took away our other Putt-Putt that was in Rock Hill. Love the indoor bowling. Love the fact that it is a small handheld ball that is awesome.
Went two weeks ago on a monday because they had posted about half off attractions for the day, paid 60$ for 3 of us to putt putt and just figured it was the 50% off rate, it wasn't. But whatever trying to support a new place so it was fine. Walked around for 5-10 minutes aimlessly wondering where to go before an employee finally walked up. PuttPutt sometimes did not register correctly and was annoying waiting for it to either reset or having to wait several minutes for help, not sure why they were being wei
My son's experience was worth every penny. The staff was superb and staff was professional and courtesy. We will definitely are going again. Plus bar and food, I love this place better than Dave and Busters by far. This place rocks!!
This place is fine but has the opportunity to be a lot better. Owners, your website really needs some work. The options aren't clear, use more pgotos, doesnt clarify if you have to have reservations (you dont). The phone number that comes up on google apparently does not call this location and the other location doesnt answer the phone. It's also difficult to find you on google by searching "roar". You have to search "roar archade rock hill". That could be improved with google analytics. You could also impr
my friends and I had lunch there and the food was surprisingly good and we were able to play duck pen bowling while we waited for our order to be prepared. It was a good experience and we will go again.
The service was awesome and the food was great. Arianna was our server and she was super attentive and informative. We will definitely back!
Had a marvelous time with our local BNI networking group!! Drinks & Food were good & absolutely loved the games!!
This place is awesome and so fun!! Kid and family friendly, too. The bar tenders and staff are so nice!
Couldn't find this place, address is wrong, leads you to a church, didn't answer the phone a bunch of times. Fix your sites? even tried searching for the brewery and the so called ?the thread? and found nothing .
I had a great time. I attended a group networking event. Loved the atmosphere very spacious.
Understaffed, bowling lanes broken, food way too expensive super disappointed as we went on Father's Day
Had a great time at Roar, so glad there is a place like this in Rock Hill!
My kids loved coming here!
Fun times with Friends!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
