Walking in I'm already memorized by all the games, light, and artwork on the walls it's a super fun place to go to with dope ass drinks lol I was ready to order more before I even finished my first ?? the Dark Matter one is ???? the atmosphere is just beyond great and so is they're drinks menu ??

One of my favorite places in all of Riverside! They have so many pinball tables! And soooooo many arcade games. They also have video game tournaments often and trivia nights. They also have great bartenders, shout out to my girl Liz who is always the sweetest and coolest. Give the girl a raise. Definitely try one of their signature drinks, you will not regret it!

Great place so far. I wanted to explore more places with my boyfriend so we didn't stay long on my first time here... They have great selections of games that we could play, even all the old school games that I grew up with as a kid. They have a good price on food and drinks, and the vibe is amazing here. Great place for date night or a fun night with family and friends, especially if you are on the competitive game sport type of person. Will come back soon for more fun, but this time, I'm bringing my kiddo

Great array of classic mechanical table games, vintage stand up arcade games, pinball, and ultra modern games some with VR. Limited food menu, full bar, drinks are fair priced, some of the games can get expensive if you're counting or converting you could end paying 5 bucks a game. But over fun for adults and kids alike.

Great retro arcade with some frustrating flaws. I love the nostalgic games like Galaga, Dig-Dug, and Ms. Pac-Man ? super fun! Sure, some of the buttons don't respond perfectly, but that's expected for arcade games from the ?80s. Their pinball machines are awesome, but most of them are badly off-level, causing balls to drain straight down the middle. It feels like a bit of a money grab, which is disappointing. Some modern games also need a bit of TLC (eg. overinflated or super flat basketballs). Despite thes

If you have nothing to do on any day. Check out this arcade. All retro games and modern games WITH a bar! Been coming here for years. Worth the money! (About $20 for a good time)

The most terrible customer service I've ever experienced. Do not come here!!!! Bartender are rude and management Isaiah is a jerk who shouldn't be a manager. Teach your staff better. When you try to leave feedback on your experience they block you ??

Fun and not expensive, spent about an hour for 10 bucks

It was a lot of fun, but maybe disinfectant wipe dispensers around the arcade could be added. It'd be nice to have the option to clean the video game arcade machines before playing on them.

Had a great time here. It was really fun and it's great that they serve alcohol for those who like to drink and game in the always hout some kind of event going on.

The Game Lab has a little of everything; pinball machines, old classic Atari games, popular video games, and etc. You need to purchase a game card and $20 gets you 400 tokens. Games range from 7-30 tokens. Next door is a Food Lab, a popular food court. Plenty of parking is available, there are several public parking structures around downtown Riverside.

Very well priced. Around 25 dollars for 200 credits and you can spend hours there and still have some left over. The bar is great too. I recommend the princess peach

This place is truly where an adult can be a kid again. So many originals games from my childhood. The environment is always pretty chill and outgoing. Their drinks are pretty good! Service is always kind and attentive.

Very good place to eat, quite a lot of different restaurants to eat from.

Post-COVID we were glad to spend our first date night at Riverside Game Lab. There were so many great selections my wife and I remembered from our childhood. Street Fighter II, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, etc. we were able to play Pop a Shot, Ski Ball, and Air Hockey. Many of the games cost only 1 token, some were 2 tokens, and some driving games cost 4 tokens. You don't earn tickets for prizes but if you want to have a great time, introduce your kids to games you can whip them on, lol this is the best place

I enjoyed coming here to play at Game Lab. Whenever I'm in Downtown Riverside, I always try to come here to have fun. They got modern games and the classic arcade games. Donkey Kong, Burgertown USA, Galaga, Pac Man, etc. They even have VR headset games too. There's even a separate room on the right full of pinball machines. There's also a bar for everyone who wants to have a drink. They use digital game cards for playing the games and they have 2 kiosks for getting a card or recharging. It's right next to F

Amazing place, absolutely alive on a Saturday night with live competitive gaming and commentary, open bar, and every variety of pinball and cabinet game you can imagine. They even have 4 or 5 virtual reality game areas set up. My kids loved it. Definitely not s place to come to if you are really worried about airborne infectious diseases ?? Oh, all the games operate on tokens purchased with cash from token machines. Bring paper $$

Loud and dark like arcades are (and maybe should be) with a good mix of pinball, arcade and things like skeeball and air hockey. Arcades are a blend of old and new. Games use NFC cards for credits and cost varying amounts of credits. They have a bunch of ps4s and maybe other equipment for use (don't know). Bar is great (had yummy draft beers) and has snacks. Everyone is having fun. Just wish it opened earlier. :) Looks like they change the games and pinballs out periodically. Still is great.

Nice little arcade with some fun old school games. There is a separate room with pinball machines.

Had a terrific company party here. Private dining area, outdoor space, game cards. The staff took great care of us.

I loved it but the only thing I would like more of are the pin ball machines.. some didn't work? the bar service was great and Great selections? awesome environment and friendly to all ages

This place is INCREDIBLE! Every gamer?s dream! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by! Full of arcade games, VR experiences, and just plain awesomeness!

Really fun place, great for a date night or if your going out with family or friends ,Really great drinks and great atmosphere

Love this place a lot!! On Friday and Saturday, it's 21+ after 10pm though, which would've been nice to know

Great time, I gave 4 stars because the games are expensive. I will recommend going on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday the games are half off.

This place is fun good way to get out of the heat got here around 5 pm was able to find parking but it might get harder as night goes on. Free to walk in need to get card to play

A uniquely crafted arcade that features a bar, a pinball machine room and an amazing assortment of games old and new. We didn't plan on spending much time here, but when we went in to check it out, we ended up staying and having a lot of fun. The place is big, clean, seems safe and well ran. The decor and overall vibe is super cool and the staff was helpful. We seemed to get a lot of games for the $25 card we purchased, so it definitely felt like we got our money's worth. We will come back and spend more ti

Always a great vibe in Downtown Riverside right next to the Food Lab! No outside food or drinks are allowed. The game credits are fairly priced, and they offer themed drinks at the bar as well.

Fun for all ages! Great prizes next to some excellent restaurants

Really dope place. Took my daughter there today. It really reminds me of old school 80s, 90s arcade halls I grew up on.

The place is good, WHEN IT ISN'T BUSY!!! NEVER GO THERE ON SATURDAYS!!! This only applies if you're an adult/college student, as there's a lot of teens and kids that hog up the spots. That wouldn't be such a huge problem too, however, some family was hogging up the dance space... EVEN THO THEY WEREN'T USING THEM!!! WHO DOES THAT?! The place itself is good tho. Really good selection of stuff to do. If you want to play a good selection of games, Riverside Game Lab is the place. But never go there on a Saturda

Been coming here for years but it's been a while. The went from coins to play cards so now this place is expensive like round 1 and Dave and Buster's.

First time going there definitely coming back! The VR is amazing places huge clean people that worked are very helpful and friendly and most important every single game works!

This is my crew's go to spot to go hang out, play some retro games, virtual reality gaming, or some a good old-fashioned 4 player pop-a-shot competition!. The game lab located adjacent to the Riverside Food Lab is a fantastic option for families. Grab some food from the lab a take it into the game lab and enjoy some retro games and some really with a great atmosphere. Or pick yourself up a quick snack and souvenir! The staff is friendly and helpful, it's a must-try!

Just fun, good drinks and music, need AC tho was kinda hot.

It sucks this place is located in such a ghetto area. Tons of hobo?s and other unsavory characters lurking around this spot lol. Theres a resident crazy hobo white old man that just accosts people that are forced to use the large intersection crosswalk. But beyond the really trashy DT Riverside scene, you don't really get reliable working games. 3 out of the 10 games I played were out of order. There were no notices, you actually have to pay, wait for the game not to work, and just assume it's broken after

Always Satisfying to know that "The House of The Dead" Will Always Be a Timeless Nostalgic find!!! And an Absolute Must for any Arcade Lover!!! So Happy that it's still a Gamers Fav, and Still Available for Those Still stuck in the Reto Phase of Gaming! And Preserved for Fanatics of the Old School Kind! - Dreadfully Appreciative your fellow Walking Dead ??

I'm not one to write reviews as they seem tedious however, the new policy over it being 21 and over is upsetting as we (my husband son and I) consider ourselves night owls and this place was the place to go when it came to doing some fun activities we've been going to Dave n busters as an alternative we easily spend $100- $200 on beverages and cards (we get a card for us grown ups and one for our son) don't really care about the prizes but what's most important is we as in our son a minor and us are all inc

It's a great place to hang out with friends

Bro they actually got the bootleg DDR cab for double the price of the regular arcade, I'm sold

I've been to probably 6 classic arcade game bars or game centers across the country and this is by far the best. The older games are in great working order that already separates it from its competitors but thry5 also just elevate the bar/social side of the experience. They have private booth areas for groups to relax in and use as their home base while playing and also use these areas for game console playing. Finally, they have daily "specials" where each day is a dedicated console game that you can pl

Super cool and neat looking area to unwind :)

Nothing like drinks and games to bring the kid out of you. They have kid theme adult drinks VR makes this place 5 in my eyes.

This place is amazing!!! Takes me back! I took my kid and planned to be there about an hour... ended up there for 4 hours cause I called my husband and my brother to come down. The drink menu is freaking adorable, all video game themed cocktails, delicious, and not a bad price. The games aren't too expensive either, you can play most retro games for a quarter. They've got a ton of VR stations and pinball machines too. Staff is really friendly and helpful! Bartenders are awesome. Seriously check this plac

Liz was extremely rude and took out of context personal conversation to an unnecessary degree. Wont be coming back.

Amazing experience! Great prices , very clean

All ages welcome kids had a blast

Love this place but why does it have so many kids!?!?! As a single adult who loves video games, it's hard to find a cool arcade that has adult beverages... yeah, I said it that way. The games are incredible, the drinks are yummy and creative but oof! The kids. There are so many kids!!!! Some of them aren't even really playing the games, just acting like it. ??. I know it's not this places fault but ugh it's irritating. Regardless, the buttons are not sticky and neither is the flood and their bathroom game

So fun! Pinball games are in EXCELLENT condition. So many! Great layout. Nice big space. Very friendly, attentive bartenders. Right next to a giant food court. Super fun for a date night, party, or tournament.

Really great selection of games but would say if you're just trying to enjoy a night out with friends probably wouldn't go midday during the weekends. There was way too many kids standing in front of machines or running around. Kind of ruined the experience for me. Other than that a pretty nice place to hang out at.

First time trying..had the chicken shawarma bowl with tomatoes, green onions and turnips. The chicken is very similar to pastor & Delicious. Would like to go again to try something different.

I went last night with a bunch of my friends and had an absolute blast. I was basically glued to the pinball machines, but there's a ton of other options from classic arcade games to VR. And the themed cocktails were amazing and not terribly priced. All of the bartenders working were super friendly and on the ball, but the one we were with the most was Broc. Incredible service, don't change a thing!

Really fun. Not too crowded. Lots of old school games. Had a great time, and I don't even like gaming.

Fun! Fun! Fun! And, at an affordable price! My husband and I had a fantastic date night playing vintage arcade games, pinball and even whack-a-mole! We really appreciated that there was no entry fee, that each token is $.25, and that the games we played were only a couple of tokens at a time. I can't wait to take my kids and their friends, this is a total gem and couldn't be better located in its spot by the Food Lab! There is a bar in the back, and apparently after 10 PM no one under 21 is allowed in. W

Score: 90/100, a solid A- Pros: it's an absolute blast, prices are solid. $20 for 80 tokens. Rides usually cost in between 2-4 tokens for a game. They have guitar hero, classic shooter games for 2 players. They host competitive games and they have VR headsets as well. Be good to have a date or to just hangout with friends. This combined with the food lab next door makes for a fun night out. Come by and support them! Cons: it's kinda small, I thought it would be bigger but I guess that makes sense due to h

Many upgrades. They now have a full bar, snacks and new games. They did move to a card system over the coin. My son was a little bummed about that but they did take our tokens and convert them to the card. We had a good time with nostalgic games and even tried VR. Well be back

Went yesterday for the first time. My group has a lot of fun. It's basically an arcade with a bar. They also have pc/console game competitions which is pretty cool. My only negative comment is that the alcohol amount was pretty low on all of my groups drinks (which aren't cheap).

Well, what should I say. The gaming place is nice, we were there before an had a good time. But as foreigners they just don't let you in with an official foreign, government issued ID, because they only accept US IDs or passports. Very sad that foreigners are sent away in such a fashion. That is just dumb and unjust!

Great spot to hang out and play video games! Found this place by accident while in the area. Glad I decided to stop in! Drinks were great and the fries were delicious! My family and I had a blast and will definitely be back!

Really great place to hangout. Its a real arcade. Not like dave and busters were you play for tickets and cheap prizes. You play because theyre fun. Lots of classic games like marvel vs capcom 2, metal slug, house of the dead, time crisis, and tons of well kept pinball machines. They also have tons of new arcade machines. I like that it opens late meaning less lil kids running around or standing on the ski ball machine. They also host smash bros events there which is fun to watch live.

I came here for a Guilty Gear Strive tournament and had a blast. It was a little hot so maybe another air conditioning machine would be nice. Overall, it was my first time not only going there but participating in an offline fighting game tournament and it was a good enough experience to want to come back to. The tournament organizers were clear and responsive as well as cool enough to let me and my friend run friendlies. The arcade was also VERY enjoyable and wasn't expensive at all. There's a huge variety

4 stars because they got rid of my favorite machine??

Fun place for date night or family event, if you love videogames. Has a bit for the old school like pinball to Arcade games that I grew up playing. Furthermore for the new age of gaming, they have VR games and booths to rent, which is a fun experience. Overall, great place for gamers to enjoy.

It's a pretty cool spot to go to. Not too pricey, kids were happy, actual arcade games to play from back in the day as well as many modern ones too. You can buy snacks and stuff for the kids or get a beer or mixed drink for the adults. Nice and simple place.

Super fun many retro games to enjoy

This Place is Pretty cool, 2nd time coming here, lots of cool retro games and Pinball!! Will def be back!

Love me a good arcade place. The drinks were delicious. If you ever go, def try the Yoshi or Kirby drink. 10/10 would recommend.

I've lived in Riverside for years and tonight was my first time visiting the Game Lab. I had a GREAT time. Much needed. Skee ball took my mind off of some hard times. The Indiana Jones pinball machine was fun. Plus there's a bar!! Say what!! 3 drinks in and I'm on Guitar Hero feeling like I'm Slash. Saw a friend there two. Two thumbs up! I'll be back. Got 80 tokens for $20. Thought I would have leftover coins but had so much fun I spent them all

Game lab is a cool spot to hang out with friends when you trying to chill play games and have a drink highly recommend

Very nice place. It was clean, and the staff was real nice. My problem is the stall for disabled was out of order and that is not right. That should tended to ASAP. It is hard for some to squat over the regular stall seats with no bar to hold onto. Plus the whole ADA thing. Other than that, ill be back. Hopefully, the stall has been fixed by then.

Fun! I personally feel like the groove coaster game was the best ? I do wish there were more games though, I felt like I went through them all fairly quickly The drink themes are fun though, I really liked that! The staff also helped my boyfriend find his phone so thank you for that! I'll be back for sure

We come here about once a month and always have a good time. Drinks and food are good. A large selection of games. My boyfriend participates in an MK11 tournament that's been hosted here a couple of times. Always a good time.

It's almost great. Unfortunately I couldn't find one fighting game with funtioning sticks. Game lab would be a great place if they cared about fixing their machines.

Best experience ever!!! Hell of a good time. Best way to kill time and have fun. Cali Creamin' is an amazing drink. All the pinball machines, the arcade games, shooters, driving, hoops, skeeball, giant connect four, air hockey. Separate was the virtual reality, didn't get to try it but next time.

Super fun but Dance Dance Revolution cost 20 credits or $1 for one round. Just one round lol. When every DDR machine ever is 3 rounds by default unless you fail a song. Just disappointing that it essentially cost $3 to play one regular game of DDR.

I've been to several arcades in the socal area.. So far this is the biggest, cleanest, and has the most games out of any other arcade I've been to. This place has VR, or you can get tokens and play traditional stand up arcades, pinball, air hockey and many other typical newer style arcade games. There is a full bar here and will surprise you with the options they have. All in all, great place for fun for all ages.

An arcade that is full of retro and modern games. They sell snacks and alcohol and have cup holders at each game which is great. They seemed overstaffed and there weren't more than 20 people on a Friday afternoon when I went but that could change once they gain more popularity. I only hope they don't go out of business because this is a place downtown Riverside needs!

Good variety of games that are well priced. Lots of fun, even if you're not a huge game person. Definitely a great choice for a cost conscious date night. They serve drinks but no food. However, I believe you can bring food over from the food lab.

Was in the area and stopped in for a quick bite. The customer service was great, a young man named Jorge was very polite and helpful. I Will be coming back to play some games and would highly recommend to anyone.

Second time around, first time had horrible customer service. This time was fast worse, played a round of VR , went to try again and the young girl says "didn't you just play VR?" I'm assuming she was upset cause she has to physically walk over to the machine and start the game. Absolutely horrendous experience. Dont go there specially with kids, they hate em.

Was a great place but since this new strict policy people not born here without a valid ID or DL aren't let in even having a picture ID given by the US to have some sort of identification. They expect people to have their passport on hand for a casual night out to an arcade.???????

Spent ten dollars on games and was entertained for over an hour. Overpowering smell of Lysol so I am guessing they are pretty clean. No outside food or drinks. Didn't get food or drinks here. Bathroom was clean.

At the beginning of summer, I took my 6 and 10-year-old daughter for a 65-minute session of VR. We had an amazing time, the kids love playing VR and I promised them each that if they finished their summer workbooks, we would be back. My son completed his summer workbook and I headed there with him on Saturday morning for a Noon reservation. When we arrived, we were told that the age policy is 9 and up, and he couldn't play. Nowhere on the website, reservation system, or confirmation does it outline an age

It was great! The games were good but it would have been nice to see some girly games. It totally helped you could drink! Spent most of the night playing pinball. Jacob is a great bartender. They also had VR but didnt have a chance to try it!

I came in after it had been open a week or so. The place is spacious and about 70% of it is retro games. They serve beer but no hard drinks. The consession stand has snacks but they are over priced like a movie theater. The have rooms on the back for parties. The staff is super friendly. The vr system is pretty good. I watched the staff clean it every time it was used. I wasn't sure about the rules on food. I'd you have a party you can bring your own or order in. You can eat anything from the consession

It's always fun to go for the pool table and karaoke. They also have a good selection of food and games. They close pretty late.

This place is a blast The bartenders are great at their job All the games took me back to my youth and the atmosphere is awesome It's a great place for a date night or with the family 25 dollars goes a long way

Before I arrived, we were told we could leave outside drinks on the table with the guards, so out of respect we left them at the door. After $50 was spent on tokens, my group was approached my security guards and told to leave because of an empty can they found at a table. The guy in his rent-a-cop Halloween costume explicity said he couldn't prove it was us but had to leave anyway. I said we'll leave but it wasn't us. He proceeded to say he knows but we have to leave anyway! Out of respect for someone tryi

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge.
