Richmond Draftcade

Richmond Draftcade

Reviews Summary

Draftcade offers a nostalgic arcade experience with a $10 flat fee for unlimited play, appealing to retro gamers. Reviews highlight great game selection and fun atmosphere, but many machines suffer from poor maintenance. Service varies widely—some staff are friendly and attentive, while others are rude and slow. Food quality is inconsistent, with complaints about burnt or overpriced items. Drinks receive praise, especially creative cocktails. The loud music can be overwhelming. Overall, it's a fun spot for games and drinks, but improvements in maintenance and service would elevate the experience.

Oh my gosh! This place is so fun! Some friends and I found it while having a girls weekend a few weeks ago and we loved it so much we have been back twice since. The games are fun, the drinks are yummy, the bar tenders are awesome and funny! This is a great place to hang out with friends or even enjoy a nice and fun date night!

I haven't had the food yet, but the unlimited play for 10 dollars was fantastic! They had a very abundant selection of games to play. My son and I enjoyed the atmosphere and we will be returning.

First time here, the idea of the place is great but the service was horrible, the bartender was rude and the girl that brought our food out was extremely rude. We ordered burgers, someone in our party is vegan so we ordered the beyond burger, it was hard to tell the difference between that burger and another burger someone ordered. I asked the girl if it was the ?impossible? burger (a different vegan burger brand, I got it confused it was an honest mistake) the girl looked at me with a nasty look and said ?

So much fun all the retro games that we loved as kids. Stays open late and it was $10 for a bracelet and let the fun begin. Highly recommend this place for a nostalgic date. Will be back for more fun

We had fun lowkey at Draftcade! We went there Wednesday at 6:30pm and stayed until 9:30pm. There weren't many people there- which we liked. We're over 40 yrs old, so we remember arcades and it was interesting playing them. Only 3 weren't working. There's a TRUE airhockey table in the original monster size they used to be. Playing that was fun and took energy. The pinball machines are late 80s- 90s style with more mini ramps and odd bonuses, only the Buck Roger's machine was more traditional. All were f

I must say the pricing is the best you'll find. $10 for free play on all games. 80?s radio music station playing some fun themes. A decent bar setup. Only issue I found were with a few Pinball machines not working correctly. Hand sanitizer stations through-out the area which I feel helps add cleanliness. Week nights seem to be a much more relaxing vibe in which I felt more enjoyable over a chaotic weekend in which massive crowd traffic. Over all it was a nice experience and would highly recommend visiting.

We just celebrated our son?s 4th birthday & it was epic! Daniel & Luke were on point every step of the way w/ helping me set up and reserving tables and getting all 28+ people accommodated w/ drinks, wristbands & food. Moms & Dads this is the spot to host your next birthday party! We were able to bring in a bakery made cake (Pearls Bake Shop..it's the best) and order affordable food baskets of fries and corn dog nuggets for the kids. Parents got to enjoy drinks and shrimp at the bar. The kids got to play

Amazing experience. The only fun place I've been where they have Adults only nights. There weren't any kids taking up every game and I was able to play all of my childhood games. Wish I lived closer

Great food and beer amazing atmosphere all around a fun time.

It's only $10 to play unlimited old school arcade games, skee ball, basketball, air hockey, jenga which is a good deal. However some of the games aren't working properly. The drinks I've tried at the bar were good. I haven't tried the food.

Unfortunately half of the machines are damaged and I can see why some of the people slam the machines especially skee ball and the pinballs machines half of them don't work. It also is VERY loud so if you don't like being overstimulated I wouldn't come here go to dawnstars arcade or wax moon for pinball.

Fun arcade with a bar and bar food. You can just pay admission to play as many games as you want. You don't have to buy food and drinks.

Best arcade/bar in Richmond. Selection is mediocre but for just a $10 cover to get unlimited play, it's well worth. Music can get loud at times depending on the type of crowd and the time of night due to the stellar bartenders being crowd pleasers. And, as such I have no doubt they will be willing to adjust volume or change genres if you asked. Amazing staff, OK games, great pricing, average food, good drinks, awesome vibes. I strongly recommend the dragon punch drink and the quesodillas!

First off let me say the pricing is spectacular, 10 Dollars and they give you a colored wrist band (Changes each day Probably, so don't bother saving it) and for as long as you like during the open hours...You may play all the games! Reason that I gave it 4 stars is that the business houses close to perhaps 50-55 Machines, estimated when I recall counting the cabinets. 7-8 of those are pinball machines. I was only able to find 4 Pinball tables that actually were fully working. Either the flippers weren't wo

The bartenders seemed to be bothered to be there and were not personable at all. Additionally, they play the music so loud in there it is literally impossible to hear someone sitting next you without shouting. Also worth noting, they do not accommodate ***ANY*** dietary restrictions or allergies.

This is often a very relaxed environment to enjoy a few beverages and some retro games. They offer a $10 all you can play bracelet and plenty of drinks on tap. Their bartenders are really nice and eager to recommend beverages. The machines mostly seem playable (they're rarely out of commission) and offer unlimited credits to play as much as you want. It's a great environment to hang out in a group or go on a date.

Food was fine, Pinballs Machines were below average. At the time of my visit $10.50 for all you can play. I guess with a big party, this place would be more interesting, but not really my thing. The service was fine. Ordered a fish sandwich the spicy mayo was the highlight.

I recently had an amazing time at Draftcade! The bartender Luke was absolutely top-notch?friendly, attentive, and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Each drink was crafted with care, and he went above and beyond to ensure everyone at the bar had a great experience. What really made the night special were the games and amazing fun music. It's the perfect place to unwind, enjoy some great food and drinks, and have a blast with friends. I can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking for a

Great local craft beer, reasonably priced. I haven't tried the food. I've been there a few times. The games are fun and retro. Great for family before 7pm. Fun for adult game night and a few beers.

Was so disappointed that the pinball machines are so poorly maintained. The pacman pinball was on but had no balls in it so if you played it the video would play but when you needed to play pinball part of it you couldn't. I was in from out of town and was so disappointed

Great concept. It is $10 to play old style games unlimited. Over 21 years old after 7. Beer was ice cold and bartender was helpful.

Staff is nice but a good amount of the arcades are damaged. Joystick don't work properly. Mrs Pacman resets randomly. Great music though.

Came here tonight for my 21st birthday. Had so much fun. Atmosphere is amazing they have all you can play games for $10 flat fee. Daniel and alex were especially great. Knew how to handle my allergies. Very kind and great people :)

This was our first time visiting Draftcade and is was really fun. We went there for our team building event and had such a great time. The drinks were good, the hot dogs were amazing, the staff was friendly, bartender Luke was very attentive, and there is an exceptional variety of games. We will definitely go back for more fun.

all the classic games. one price for unlimited play so no keeping up with a card. great music. tons of fun. I'm telling all my friends.

I love the $10 unlimited play band. It allows you to randomly choose and play a game for as long as you want. Children, music and that sound of giant jenga falling drowns out your gaming experience. Great selection of vintage 90s games. Pinball games were my favorite part. The video game screens were not vibrant and sound was very low.

Daniel is the absolute best. It was our first time and he made us so comfortable. Went through the games, informed us on drinks, and made sure we had all we needed. 10/10 recommend. The beer selection is great, liquor drinks are pour well, food is amazing .

Went to have a fun night with my GF before my procedure. Seemed like it could?ve been a lot of fun. Quite a few of the Pin Ball machines as well as the Air Hockey table didn't work fully or at all. Bartender was the absolute worse. Was very rude, short, and came off very irritable when asking for a something. Wanted to do the bare minimum so he could go play on his phone.

On vacation in Virginia and decided to stop at this arcade. It made the trip much better all around. The drinks were great and game-themed, they had a few cabinets I never heard of before, and the food was really good. Big shout out to Daniel for taking care of us and making us feel very welcomed. Will be going back if I am ever in the area.

It was really loud but we had a good time. Clean bathrooms. We got the game package and you get unlimited plays but there's nobody walking around checking ti make sure you have a band.

Date night was fun. $10 for all you can play gaming of retro games, Jenga, and air hockey. The basketball game was fun too.

I've gone twice so far and the drinks have been amazing. The bartender, Luke, did an excellent job tending to our needs and making very tasty drinks. I loved the Ms. PacMan, Retro Juice, Frogger, and Dragon Punch. If you don't like the alcohol taste then Ms. PacMan is perfect! My personal favorite sour alcohol, which tastes like sour candy, was Retro Juice! Also, we went on a Thursday at 8pm and it wasn't too busy, so there was no wait time on any games. Lastly, I'd recommend planning to be there for 3-4 ho

We have a rly good time here. We came after tournament and went straight to the bar for food. They have a deal for an extra dog with toppings for only three dollars which we took advantage of! Their chicken buffalo dip is sooo good, and their general tso wings are pretty good. The games also seemed to be in top condition, even the older systems. Ten dollars for all day play is sweet as well. We will be coming back when we're in town again!

Very fun games with excellent bartenders. Shoutout to Daniel for being so kind to us while we had fun. He was an amazing mixer and definitely deserves kudos for making the experience more enjoyable.

Had a lot of fun here! You get a lot of value for the cover charge, and they have a great selection of beers and ciders on draft. A fair few broken down games, though, and overall I'd like some more variety. (It's also supposed to be 21+ after 7pm, but there were definitely still kids running around.) Still, getting to fulfill my childhood dream of actually playing some of those games all the way to the end, with no need to have a few rolls of quarters on hand, was great! And the 80s party music was fantast

Great selection of older arcade games. Great 80s music selection. The place is clean. The food was good, and quick service. All the cabinets I tried worked, which is a surprise given other arcades lack of upkeep. Overall would highly recommend this if you want a classic arcade experience. If you want newer shooter games and racing games, this place really doesnt cater to that, at least at the time of my visit.

Great experience. Felt like ?the good old days.? Especially the original Nintendo games.

everytime i go to the Funny Bone or Short Pump Mall, i check in at this spot! One of the few barcades, great low price for unlimited play, and it appeals to some hardcore gamers with games like Metal Slug 2 and Sunset Riders , extremely pleasing to see in 2024! (Ofcorse the expected classics/must haves like Pac Man and Donkey Kong etc are also here) ...Bartender (name slipping my mind) is always awesome energy and fun to talk to , very good drinks! love this spot!

Rating this place is hard. The good: it's clean, almost all of the machines were working, it's a flat fee (pay once and then free-to-play), and there is a bar area if you want that. The bad: most of the games are pretty low-end games. You're not going to get one of the shooting games and no bike or sit-in racing games. It helped me kill some time while I waited on a table next door, but in the future I'll just make sure I have reservations as I don't think I'd spend the money again. Again, not a bad place,

The place is stocked with retro games from the late 80s and up also air hokey, skee ball, hot shot basketball and pinball machines. No quarters necessary. One price unlimited play is a great idea. While I didn't have the food the bar was great. Good service and a wide selection of beers as well. I enjoyed the environment and definitely a good place for a meet-up with friends.

Love the place where you can go spend $10 to play arcade games pinball machines skee ball and basketball for measly amount of $10 all day long

Good deal to pay 10$ for all you can play. Had my family of four and my brothers family of four with us. Would like to say I was in the food service industry for 6 years. I tip very well. These bartenders had an attitude . Didn't want to be there. Ordered two pretzels and a kids chicken tender . They were not busy. After 48 minutes waiting for the pretzels and tenders I politely got up walked to the bar and asked to check on our food the bare tender literally looked at me and rolled his eyes and walked awa

The drinks were amazing, games were great, felt very retro and fun. Our server Luke was very friendly and gave great drink recommendations, my girlfriend and I got Ms Pacman, Dragon punch, Retro Juice and Frogger's revenge, all of the drinks tasted great while still having enough alchohol to get tipsy. 5/5 Experience will be going again next time I'm in virginia, entry is 10$ and drinks are around 10$ ea

The concept of Draftcade is awesome. The service is horrible. We waited for over 15 minutes at the bar to order. We were acknowledged but never served so we left.

Lots of fun! All the nostalgic games for adults. Lola at the bar was very attentive and had good recommendations.

Fun times and decent beer. Could be a little more clean and not all games are working. Worth a shot

I've come here a few time as it's the closest place for playing a few pinball games. It's not really worth, machines are really treated poorly. Some basic maintenance doesn't even seem to happen like wiping the playfield or making sure flippers are aligned. Some games do seem to have legitimate harder fixes, and can emphasize the hassle of getting a technician for them is probably hard, but why play 10 dollars for 9 machines, which all have need of minor fixes that seem to never be done to them, when I can

This is a fun date spot. What really made our experience great was Daniel, the bartender. We've been here multiple times and each time Daniel has been helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the beers and ciders offered there. Thanks Daniel!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We got to the bar right at 8 once they opened after a private event. We didn't get service for over 30 minutes and we kept trying to flag the bartenders down for service and they pertained to everyone except for us. When we finally did get service they were extremely rude and acted like we were bothering them! I am very disgusted about how they treat their customers. Restaurant employees should be able to service and give great customer service to each and every customer.

The selection of games here is alright, definitely worth the 10 dollars for all you can play, no issues there. However the food and mixed drinks were absolutely horrid. Old rotten juices were used to create the mixed drinks and the fried chicken was over cooked, bland, dry, and stringy. Go for the games but skip the food for sure!

Great way to kill some time on a Sunday night - $10 all you can play is awesome, and I love that there's beer holders for every game. Good selection of games, skeeball, air hockey, giant Jenga, etc. Would love to see them expand even further!

$10 all you can play and a bunch of beer on tap?? Yeah. I'm in. Came here on a Monday night with a friend and must admit we are both over 40 yrs old. We had a great experience and the bartender was awesome. We each had the house burger that was different than a typical burger but we both agreed it was good. Idk maybe I'm being nostalgic but it was a great night

Great games to play and plenty of TVs to watch sports. The food is great. Daniel is a great bartender with lots of great recommendations for different beers. Will definitely come back.

This place was amazing ?? ?? me and my wife and kids love it we thought we was in the 90s again playing all the back and the dayz games when we was a child love you will see us again amazing bar tender well recommended

Games are great, bartender was really rude, and my overpriced mixed drink had bearly any alcohol in it. The music was painfully loud at times, though I did enjoy the songs (80s, 90s) They do have a working centipede cabinet with a trackball, and turtles in time, so if you only care about the games, they have a very nice selection. Play turtles in time.

My husband and I came to Draftcade during the day for some fun with our the kids. They enjoyed themselves! The food was good and the staff was amazing. Customer service was excellent and they kept the tables, floors and clean throughout our stay. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and before I could tell anyone, they were already changing it.

Only $10 and you can stay there all day and play you can't beat that deal. I've seen a lot of negative reviews on here talking about music was too loud and the staff was rude or whatever but the music was a decent volume when I went also the staff was very friendly there was only one bartender but he still managed to take care of everyone in a timely manner and was very nice I also got the fries and the wings and they were really good. Food is a little pricey (average for a bar in my opinion ) but they hav

Great Night with my husband! Luke H. is an amazing bartender and kept the delicious drinks coming! OH and the food?!!! Amazing! Get the wings and the buffalo chicken dip! Will definitely return!

Can't say enough good things about this place. We found it one evening with our family and had a great time, and then we booked a private event for our entire company! Had an amazing time with our 80 guests and Derick was incredible managing the event - best customer service we've seen in long time.

Me and my friends always have an amazing time here! Top Notch food, 60 taps and a full service bar. Daniel and Luke have been my bartenders the last few trips and are always taking care of us to a T. Definitely my favorite spot in the Shortpump area. Bring all of your friends for a great time!

Great concept and atmosphere! The service was great. We had Lola and David a guy she was training. Both were very attentive to our table and on top of things. Our only problem was with the food. The presentation was way off. Could have been better and more appealing. Also, the Colossal Onion Rings are far from colossal. They are just regular sized onion rings that you would get from Burger King with minced onion in them. We were expecting large rings with while onions. Maybe change the name to just onion r

Daniel (Dani) was our bartender! He was awesome. Very wholesome and also was super friendly. This is place is a hidden gem and I am huge arcade player! They have skeeball, basketball & great beer selections. I just love the vibes here because it just feels like there's no judgement.. all 70?s-90?s type flow of music too. It's literally chefs kiss! I will def be coming back.

I mainly came for the pinball and was very disappointed. None of the pins were in good shape. A few were playable but not worth playing. Some issues seem to have been around for a long time. One review from about a year ago mentioned that Taxi has a flipper that can't lift the ball. It still hasn't been fixed which is just pathetic. A flipper rebuild would cost about fifty bucks and could be completed in thirty minutes. The video games mostly seemed to be working alright, but you could barely hear them. Th

Made a reservation 3 weeks ago for a large group to come for karaoke through their email system, re-iterating that our group would be coming solely for karaoke. They accepted the reservation, no problems. I emailed them to confirm(as I had not heard from them to confirm, the day before), and I was told on the phone that they could not confirm this and to reach out via email. I did so and heard back hours later that they were no longer offering karaoke. No apologies offered. Just, ?we don't do karaoke since

Tried this place for the first time and it was a fun spot to be. Honestly I would have given it 3 stars but, ending up giving it a 4 instead. Once we arrived at 4:30p we were told that they were closing at 6pm for a special circumstance and that normally it would have been 10 dollars. He was even nice enough to waive the fee as we got in for free. The classic style of arcade machines was so nostalgic and reminded me of the times I would play arcade machines at the local skating rink. They even had the comet

The Richmond Draftcade was the best of the 80's and 90's wrapped in a 10 dollar unlimited play! After 7pm adults can enjoy all the Jenga, arcade games, basketball shootouts, and SkeeBall they can handle. It was a blast. The venue was an average size. There's a bar area to sit and laugh. Plan to check out this gem. If you are like me, you can show off your old skills and remember what it was like to be a kid again!

My company had a work event on a Wednesday afternoon, not sure exactly how many of us there were, but easily 100! I quickly noticed there was 1 bartender, and we were putting him thru his paces. I also noticed he wasn't breaking a sweat, handled the non-stop orders with precision and ease, and made it look easy as a matter of fact! As a point of reference, we've been to other venues, and I've watched bartenders STRUGGLE with our large group. So a HUGE shout out to Daniel, he was awesome from start to fin

So, a few things here. As someone who works at an arcade, I understand it's difficult to keep machines fully operational and working, especially when you are open for a majority of the week well into the wee hours of the morning. And you add alcohol and food into the mix...just keeping stock and keeping everything clean is a challenge. That being said, if you want to come here to play pinball, don't. These games look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. A simple wipe of some Novus 2 would have re

This place definitely had a great atmosphere. Definitely a good amount of vintage games. Me and my family had an amazing time. Love how they had a hood amount of hand sanitizers; very thoughtful. Also, they have a bar which is an added bonus ????

Vintage gaming meets modern fun!!! Save the quarters and enjoy some retro fun!!!

Ten dollars for the band isn't that bad of a price, you can throw that skee ball forever. A few pinball machines had issues but there were plenty of old games and a air hockey table. Hand sanitizer stations are here and there. My friend had a burger and saidbit was good but the bar service was lack luster. There were two guys and you had to go out of the way to get their attention if they were looking at an ipad for a while. I also was charged for a beer of a higher price on the menu then the one I asked fo

rudest manager(i presume) I've ever met, rudely walked up to me and my friends playing a physical game that had no sign that it was paid to play because we couldn't find anywhere to get a band and said ?you guys have to pay? and told us to get up and out. he was acting like it was a prestigious event shaking everyone?s hand except me and my friends.

I absolutely love this place! It's an amazing way to combine my childhood memories with our son's. It's a great place for all ages, and the food and service are great too.

Went for the first time. We sat at the bar to get drinks. Bar was about half full, 3 employees working it. We sat for over 10 minutes with not a single acknowledgement or even eye contact with an employee. While we were waiting, we were looking around and many of the games were broken. We got up and left. First date night out in quite a long time and this was the result. $20 entrance fee for the two of us down the drain. Never again.

The games took me back to my younger days, the food was great and it was the perfect mix of families and couples. Every staff member was friendly. Went around 1pm on a Sat

This place is literally the best me and my friend had so much fun. Staff was friendly and pretty chilled, and we played some really cool arcade games, they had my favorite galaga and over a variety of games including super Mario! Fun!

Excellent atmosphere, great service and fast, amazing drinks, the games are the best part... Very nostalgic for retro gamers. Definitely coming back and totally recommend it.

Came here last night for my anniversary with the wife. Cool spot. Old school music, adult crowd, the bartenders were cool. I think the bartender that took care of the wife and I was named Luke or Lucas can't remember, but he was cool. old school arcade games. Please add street fighter 2 and streets of rage 2! Nice spot to chill out for a little while.

The games were fun and they brung good memories from the old games. However the food was trashy, all of this stuff was expensive and very burnt. The drinks were fine and over all I enjoyed it. But I give this a 2 star rating because the food also the funnel cake was very sweet and burnt I hated that.

My grilled cheese sat on the bar for more than 10 minutes. My tots side came at after 40 plus minutes. Decent place but how in the heck is the bar/ food service so bad? As a former server, I'm offended by how bad the service is. Now that I'm a middle aged parent with a respectable salary, I'd also hope for better service. Come for the games, expect nothing of the servers.

We had such a great time here. It is really cool playing the games of my childhood with my kids. Plus they don't have to worry about running out of quarters and having to bug somebody for a dollar. The games are in really good shape. Looking forward to doing it again.

Went for the first time with my son who LOVES video games and we had a blast! Good selection for the amount of arcades we had, and the food was good. The pretzel was 5 out of 5 according to my 7 year old.

Excellent games. Better service. Luke was a perfect bartender and checked on our order when food took longer than expected. He was a gentleman and made conversation with us. I expect to be visiting weekly.

Stopped in after a show at the Funny Bone for some Skee ball. Was greeted by a incredible hostess and really enjoyed the atmosphere. They have plenty of beer and games that I was quite impressed by considering how I lived through those years hahaha!

Great customer bartender worked very hard to make sure all our order was taken & brought out 2 us. Great game options. Good family location.

Games were fun but half were not working, the music was entirely to loud, the food was subpar (hamburger was dry) and for $12 it didn't include a side ( was supposed to have a pickle and jalape?os which we didn't get). To many IPA beers and not enough of other selections. They were sharing a kitchen with the Funny Bone and I think that was part of the issue.

The atmosphere is dope...and the games were awesome.to share with my kids. However, good is trash and too expensive. So I would say...eat somewhere else first.....then come to play ya butt off.

At draft Cade my son asked for a drink and the sever rolled his eyes and the second time he asked the worker starter yelling at him

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?
