Very neat and good store. Only rating as a 4 star because they didn't have a PlayStation one I was wanting. However, everything is decently priced. Some of the games are a little higher than expected, but I also know that's because of how some games are collectors items. Great experience here overall though!
Love Retro Jake?s, always willing to give ya a good deal. Have bought, sold, and traded here more than a handful of times. Highly recommend these folks.
I stopped by for the first time this afternoon and was very impressed! This place has the best selection I've seen in a long time, and very good pricing! Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly! I've visited a lot of stores around the greater Indy area, but Retro Jake's stands out as one of the best. I talked got to talk to Jake for a minute, and he's a really cool guy who has built something special here. I'll be making this a regular stop, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. I'l
Wanted to get the Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 bundle (pre-owned). BO1 disc looked fine and played normally, BO2 disc was badly scratched (pictured below is the disc) and played ok for the most part, except for a part where the audio bugged out and some awkward freezes here and there. Next day, the game completely froze on boot-up. Returned to the store and bought the same game from GameStop.
We always have an amazing time at both Retro Jake's in Muncie and in Richmond. The staff are so friendly. Chris is especially awesome and always willing to help us. We are big collectors of retro games and consoles and always find something new every time we visit (which is often) Highly recommend as the best store in the area for retro, used, and rare games. The arcade in Richmond is also especially fun and very cool to take kids!
One of the best selection of retro games I have ever seen. They have disc resurfacing for $2 a piece, they completely restored my wrestling collection. The photo below is from a disc that was completely demolished. Everything working great now. Thanks a ton guys
Was just here with my wife to try and see about getting a switch light completely refurbished and clean. And buy paddles for the regular switch and we was there before all of ppl and the guy completely ignored us and was helping people that came in after us. We was not rude or anything like that we was just standing there waiting and her never even acknowledged us.
I stopped by to pick up a power supply for my Xbox 360 and was let down gently by the worker saying he's been doing his best to get them and hasn't been able to, however I managed to get an steal on a copy of a game from my childhood and a controller. As we were checking out I mentioned I wanted a specific 3D printed item and he said hold on and went in the back and came back out with a ROCKin selection of 3D printed figures that were close to what I wanted. Talk about one easy way to pay attention and look
While I'm impressed by their collection of games, plushies, statues and so on: I'm less impressed by how filthy and eerily silent the shop is. No background music, no arcade machines idling or turned on: instead everything including the employees just look like they're existing until the lights turn off. Spruce the place up, dust it, turn ANY kind of idling sounds on in the background and this could easily be a 5 star joint.
Chris. Is. Amazing. Nothing but exceptional service and was always checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of. I would highly recommend Retro Jakes, Chris, and the entire staff. Thank you for everything, guys!
Cool place!! The guy at the counter was super nice and knowledgeable about games, consoles, pokemon, etc. i had some Nintendo games i wanted to sell and he gave me a good deal!! Instead of trying to get over on me. It was a cool experience overall and ill recommend it to any gamers or any one.
Been here numerous times now since it was bought out, not only is it the closest gaming store, but the selection here is VERY good. They have very reasonable prices, fix consoles for a reasonable amount, and are very nice.
This place is awesome man fr. If u are into gaming & are a true gamer of old or new games. Please come check this place out! Their collection is amazing! Even arcade games u can play! Great employees and have helped me with many business transactions and request. They even help u with ur consoles, games, questions, etc. Plz come check this place out!!
Staff was very friendly. They answered questions and showed us any consoles we asked about. Found some interesting vintage games and got a Pok?mon plushie for my niece.
This is a really neat store that Muncie is lucky to have. Games ranging from Game Cube, PS2s, Nintendo DS, Wii, Switch, and more. Reasonably priced!
I love this place so much; they've supplied me with multiple consoles and games at an amazing price. Amazing staff ever since the takeover.
Amazing selection of games, consoles, and accessories. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They were very helpful in locating an accessory we could not find elsewhere.
This place has amazing vibes and even better staff members, best prices in town, and even better tade in values. Definitely a must visit, if you're in the area
Worth checking out a lot of different games and systems for sale. If you use Google maps I think it takes you to the back of the store so make sure you drive around to the front.
Came for a Nintendo Switch repair, and was given beyond amazing service from their repair technician. If you're in need of any electronics repairs, I very highly recommend coming here and speaking with a gentleman named Nick (aka Caveman). Overall a great store with a great selection a very friendly atmosphere.
Amazing place, I didn't want to leave! I hope they begin to utilize the front area as a hang out spot. Friendly staff. Great merchandise, and I found games that I had thought were basically gone for good. I had wonderful feelings of nostalgia. I will most definitely be returning.
Wonderful atmosphere - from the location to the interior and selections, and have a little extra merch aside from just games and gaming accessories. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, and has reasonable prices. This is what you want in a retro gaming store.
Very cool place to look for old games for all kinds of systems new or old at good prices too. There's something for everybody, even if you just want to look at some old games you remember from when you were a kid. There's a VR Arcade, game room to rent for friends, a party room, and more. Also there's a dope fish pond at the front. Would definitely come back and recommend to a friend.
I bring everyone that comes to visit here. It truly is my fianc?e and I's favorite shop. Great prices and fantastic ownership.
I believe that this is a very nice store with an amazing atmosphere. I can easily tell that this is a place put together and run by someone who has a genuine love and affection for the entire gaming culture. That being said, I only have two negatives concerning this store. 1, the items are overpriced. Some slightly and some dramatically, but I understand that this is business and keeping a game store operating is a very difficult job. 2, the items being sold are quite dirty and disgusting. I purchased a
cool place. sells games from all generations, definitely a great place for video games in muncie.
Retro Jakes is awesome! The staff is excellent. Chris that works there is very kind and helpful! Caveman is awesome too. ???? Its bright and clean love it ??
Very welcoming and informative. Helped me find exactly what I needed and gave me some great advice to find more of what I was looking for. Fun to look through the games and find ones that were nostalgic. Also have some old school arcade games in the back.
Very nice and clean store with a pleasant staff. Extremely overpriced though... I love too support local businesses but wow. Brought in some trade inn's and for a fast example you will get $5 credit (less cash value) and it will resale for $100. I most likely won't do much more business there due to that kind of pricing. Your way better off buying online. I inquired about a game I can purchase online for $30 their price was $150. So if you don't mind spending a fortune on old games and systems this place is
Had all the games I wanted & good prices definitely will be back!!
Awesome stores. Great prices since the takeover from Fuds. Got a few PS1 games and some help with a memory card. I'll be back!
Awesome store! Was headed to the flea market & discovered this place. It's huge, great selection for any console, and the gaming rooms are perfect for a get-together or birthday! Staff was delightful. Will definitely be back!
Huge collection of games and consoles. Very competitive prices. Way out of my price range, but really cool getting to look at all the old school gaming systems and such. If you are looking for something, I'm pretty sure they'd have it.
Favorite game store around! Guys are super chill and they have an arcade we like to play!
I only write reviews if something is really good or really bad. Retrojakes is REALLY GOOD. The selection and prices of the games are nothing but awesome. The store has a few free arcade games, offering customers a fun experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, the store is clean, roomy and well-organized; everything is great. As a collector, I am very appreciative of the fact that each game is priced based on its condition and how complete it is; a lot of stores aren't so thorough. Retrojakes
Great place, great management, great selection. Definitely would recommend.
Large selection, decent prices, and staff super friendly
Nice place with friendly staff. They have a large selection of games for all kinds of systems. I was able to find some cool vintage games for my Sega Genesis
Love the customer service ! Amazing in price. We are going to keep coming back
Great game selection, retro, like the music, great prices
Always helpful, kind and considerate ! Very respectful and a chill place
I was wildly impressed with this place. My daughter made me stop to buy her brother a Kirby item, seeing the storefront pictures of Mario characters. Their birthday packages sound amazing. My son was not present, but he's like to have his birthday here!
I've been coming here for years and will continue to come here for years. The staff and management team are absolutely great. Friendly and Knowledgeable. The inventory rotates often and there's always a few Rare Gems everytime I come in. I love this store and everyone in it, can't recommended them enough.
Great service and fast repairs and many games
The inside of the building is huge, and very clean. Many different areas for fun, including old school arcade gaming systems. Nicely decorated. And friendly helpful staff. Was there today buying a game for my son at a better price then I had found anywhere else in town. Thanks guys! I will definitely be a return customer.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Great, great spot for games--great selection, prices, and owner! There's a ton of stuff here that you won't find elsewhere in town, including pretty much any console hardware from the last forty years, as well as tons of games and accessories, all at a reasonable price. The owner is friendly and responsive; I bought a game that needed repair (battery replacement on a Gameboy game), returned it to him, and got some store credit when it wasn't fixed as fast as I was hoping. Great and reasonable place to sell
Poor service, worse selection. Way over priced. Take current market value and add 25 percent. Purchased a system from them at above higher value that only lasted 40 days before it died.tried to return and trade... total loss. They make profits off people who don't know what they are holding. Offers less than 40 percent of actual trade in value and sells for a premium. No refurbishment. No product care. Scam prices, junk products. They will make a fool out if you if you let them.
THIS PLACE IS GREAT!! Awesome manager! he's very helpful and will spend time with you to find something that you would enjoy! He makes deals to some games! awesome arcade games! several games! they buy from you for good prices! more games than most places definitely best arcade/video game store in muncie! we will definitely be back soon!!
Nice place, very helpful and all around great to find games and systems for kids and adults alike
Fud's is one of my all-time favorite places in Muncie! It's rare to find a store that's so dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of video games, and even rarer to find a store with such a welcoming and helpful staff. They have been incredibly helpful with supplying the titles and hardware I've been missing to round out my Pokemon collection!
Very fun and kid friendly place. We were there about 3hrs. Kids loved it. $8 00 kids placed what ever they wanted. Just kept me busy wiping things down. Well worth it. Have to wear mask, but it was a good outlet for the kids. People very friendly and professional. All around fun. I would give it out of 1 to 5, 5 Stars.
Had two awesome experiences with the very knowledgeable staff. Even brought in a huge stack of games to help them out. Got way more store credit than I expected, and was even told why some things were worth more than others. I appreciate the honesty and professional integrity. I look forward to more good experiences and watching this store continue to grow.
This has remained a go to spot since my first visit. They have every system you can imagine, tons of hard to find games, and reasonable prices. They also have a very relaxed atmosphere without all the pretentious, opinionated, smug employees like other local game stores I used to frequent. Employees are always willing to help or make suggestions for whatever your taste happens to be.
Always had good, friendly experiences with the staff. Constant rotation of new stock, which makes it fun to come in regularly and see what wasn't there last time. They even have had some pretty rare titles for sale!
Honestly, this place has the worst return or exchange policy. I got a game from them and brought it back 2 hrs later with and just wanted to do an exchange for the price I paid for. They gave me half in store credit because once you buy it; it's consider trade in value. I don't recommend this place at all. If I would?ve know that then it would?ve been a different story. They didn't say anything of this policy when I purchased. This was also my first time coming to this place.
Very friendly individuals working at this store. Very clean and organized. Amazing choices. Absolutely love that they carry stuffed Mario characters. Very pleased. Will definitely come back!
This place is absolutely the fairest place in their pricing. Most gaming stores give you a value and won't disclose anything on a trade in, but the owner will walk through with you on how they came to their proposed trade in offer. Not only that, but the games they offer don't gouge you. If you wanna believe in used game stores again, and you're sick and tired of large franchises hurting the consumers, this store will be a godsend. Not only that, but they offer ?play time? that you can purchase. Pretty much
This places is AWESOME! Kid-friendly and polite employees carry a sense of humor as they help you navigate the endless movies and video games! With areas to play games and a full-blown vintage ARCADE - There is a LOT MORE than just a used video game store happening here!!! 100% recommend to everyone who likes any form of digital entertainment!!! Keep rocking it Fuds!!!!!
Just went recently to get my son an original Nintendo gaming console. With such an old system, we ran into a few snags but the employee was really understanding and we were able to figure something out. This little girl made our son's Christmas. We will be back!
This place is very good they have many different types of gyms and there prices are really good:
Awesome customer service. Super helpful and friendly
Great idea, but pretty disappointing. Seemed like over half the games were broken or non functional. The bathroom was beyond disgusting, wow. Not one pinball machine. VR was not working.. the list goes on. We paid for the family day pass and stayed about an hour and left. Sell some snacks and drinks, clean the bathroom, and get all the games working and people will stay longer.
Great store, and great customer service!
Smells like stale cigarettes and manure. The bathroom was atrocious, dead flies in the toilet and black stuff in the urinal. I stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes while one cashier stood around and the other played his game. Then they were rude when i was helped and didnt seem interested or knowledgeable about my questions. The customer service honestly deserves less than one star.
Wide variety, good selection, knowledgeable and friendly.
Employees are friendly and know a lot of the games they are selling so don't expect to find anything underpriced everything is fairly priced for market value. Arcade and pinball room are both really nice additions to the atmosphere.
Me and my fiance have been to every game store in Kokomo, South Bend, Indianapolis, Lafayette, and Marion. This store here had the biggest selection out of all of them. I really enjoyed their disc only selection especially for more rare systems like Dreamcast and Saturn i was able to find some games I've never seen before. I also enjoyed that it seemed that they had a different section grouping the sports games together it made looking through the other games easier. Would definitely recommend. A little far
First off the location. It's a disaster. Next the unfortunate oder of the store gave us all headaches and the prices fuds used to have were great but as time has gone on your prices have increased while your game selection decreased. I come in every few months or so to see if the store has gotten any better and it hasn't. There's great potential for the store if it was placed under new management
My nephew has been looking for a retro NES game to complete a collection. Recently we were making phone calls trying to find the game, expanding our search beyond metro Chicago. We found the game at Fud's. Unfortunately, I confused Munster and Muncie, 225 miles difference. Nick, the assistant manager, helpfully directed us to online photos of the game. I later spoke to Brandon, the store manager. I asked them to hold the game. That was against store policy. So was accepting my credit card over the phone in
Great store and friendly staff.
Bought an old video game disc because I wanted to play some classics (Mario Party, Melee, etc...). The video game did not work, kept getting an error message. Tried to return the video game and they wouldn't take it back. They did even offer store credit! Will never shop from this place ever again!! They obviously do not test their used video games! I would not recommend anyone to shop here! Update: There were no offers of this "buffing service" nor does it say it on the website. Yes, I did not have a recei
As a returning customer, today was the first time I can say that I was highly disappointed at Fud's Video Games. The Nintendo 64 games and Super Nintendo games are RIDICULOUSLY high in price $100, $150 for a game, I get it because you get games that they didn't make many of back then and they have the original boxes and manuals, I've paid that for the iconic games like Smash Bros and Goldeneye but 400 freaking dollars!? 400..and on top of that almost ALL of them were priced this high including just the cart
Besides not enough game books to get for my book collection, they have some pretty good line-ups of several different video game titles. Just the other day, I bought me Judgement for the PS4 and Kirby's Dream Collection for the Wii. They both cost almost 100, but as a first buyer, I could get a 10 percent discount on the first game I'm purchasing. So it was below 90. Still expensive, but both games were around 40 dollars plus tax. Which is better than how they are on sites like Amazon and Ebay. The staff we
Old school arcade feel. Takes me back to Sultan's Castle. Accept I don't have to bring a pocket full of quarters.$6-$8 for all day play. Something for everyone. So much fun! Highly recommend!!!
Very awesome gaming store!! It has really good prices and it even has gaming rooms. One has every kind of system you can think of and it's only like $5 an hour and then there is also one with vr and it's only $10 an hour!!! You can even go there and rent out the gaming rooms for a BD party!!! He even has tv series there they are only like $7 a session another still deal. So what I'm saying is......if your a gamer or someone who loves t.v. shows then this place is going to be you best friend!!! So if you e n
Fuds was recommended to me by the geek squad at Best Buy, and I was glad that I followed their advice. Fuds is a well known arcade and gaming store with a collection of CD's and other multimedia material from the past 30 years. Their retro roots gives them a well grounded perspective on understanding current trends in the industry. The staff was very helpful and I am grateful for their input and advice.
A nice alternative in retro gaming in Muncie. Owner knows his business and is a pleasure to chat and work with. Prices are fair and he will come down on price if an item is selling cheaper elsewhere. Nice lounge area for testing out games, etc. Good selection of retro games as well despite a small footprint.
Bought a used DS lite in the shop today, He tested it out before the purchase, he pointed out that it had some pixels out on the lower screen and suggested another option, which saved me a trip. Nice shop, nice environment, great assortment of used and new games. Will be back.
Trade-in credits are just not good here. Beyond a rip-off and way past unreasonable. Store selection is good but top dollar games are sometimes overpriced and can be found cheaper elsewhere a lot of the time.
Best videogame store I've ever been to. Modern games, classics, retro consoles and games, collectables...they have it all. Very nostalgic experience. Very knowledgeable folks as well. Highly recommended from a gamer
Fud has a really great shop and has grown from the little store at the other end of the strip mall to having party rooms and lots and lots of space. He loves his community and has always tries to organize events and what not to give back to everyone.
Good selection of video games and systems. Staff was friendly but prices were a bit high. Granted I'm sure with overhead it's hard to compete with online prices. Support your local game stores!
Great service. Knowledgeable employees is always a good thing. And very very helpful to making my Nintendo 64 work again. Thank u to the manager. You rock!!
Spectacular selection! Great deals. Wonderful experience. A real gem. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone interested in Video Games to visit this establishment.
Great place. Good prices. Very fair . We got an xbox that did not work when we got home. We cam back and they tested it and let us get credit for a another one. Been there many times over the years.
Hit and miss on prices but tons of options and a lot of collectors items. Whole side is a arcade had a party room and virtual reality rooms and also specific console rooms to rent. Tons of fun I recommend going and checking it out
Wayyyy tooo many ways to spend my hard earned money on soo much cool stufff. Thanks for the reasonable pricing and service! a lot of games movies toys and collectables and many many arcade machines.I wanna go back again right now! Thanks! Glad to see great businesses come back strong after the Pandemic chaos.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
