RETRO - Restaurant/Sports Bar/Arcade/Rooftop

RETRO - Restaurant/Sports Bar/Arcade/Rooftop

Reviews Summary

Retro Arcade offers a mixed but generally positive experience. Many praise the $15 unlimited arcade bracelet, extensive pinball selection, and fun atmosphere, especially for families. Food receives varied feedback—some love the pizza and burgers, while others find it bland or overpriced. Service is mostly friendly, though a few mention unstaffed bar issues. The rooftop and live music add appeal, but crowding and game hogging can be drawbacks. Overall, it's a popular spot for entertainment, though food quality and consistency could improve.

Customer Reviews

Pizza was good , enjoyed all the games. 16$ a person for unlimited ( I think yes ! ). Customer service could have been better but that's ok games make up for it. Pretty sure people saw my undies. By the time I noticed the sign that the floor is able to be seen from first floor it was too late ??. So ladies and gents wear shorts or pants lol. Will be going back again.

Three floors of fun! One the first level they have tables and chairs to sit down to eat/drink. The second floor houses traditional arcade games from Skeet Ball, Ms.Pac-man, Guitar Hero, and pinball machines. The rooftop has a stage where there is a DH or live music. There are bars located on every floor. We paid $15 for all you can play bracelets on a weekend. The price for one Corona bottle and one High Noon came out to about $16- seemed unreasonably high in my opinion. Overall, we had a good time.

Had a fantastic time with the bf & the bartender was sooo friendly! The margaritas were legit as well as the food. They had a lunch buffet that we intend to come back and try. My bf had a DPS appointment, otherwise we would've went upstairs to play the games. We had a great time, they had good music & positive vibes all around. We definitely reccomend.

The food is good. The fried pickles had a good taste. Fries were seasoned well. Chicken tenders were good. The best part about this restaurant is the game room. Wrist bands are 15.00 dollars but unlimited play. Kids and us had so much fun with the pinball machines that we lost track of time. Totally recommend the game room.

We went by after a show because my niece wanted to play games. It was after 9pm. It was loud. I loved the old school music but some of it was too raunchy for my 12 year old niece to hear. We went upstairs to play fun games to get away from the inappropriate music. The games were fun...al retro like pinball, skiball, Pac-Man, X-Men, Mortal Combat. It was cool! My sister said it's a different atmosphere during the day...very family friendly. I highly recommend and will definitely return. The "Chicago Style" p

Games and atmosphere were awesome. The food was okay, we'll be visiting again and trying something new. FAMILY friendly before 10pm.

Awesome place, totally worth a visit. Highly recommend to all! Discovered this place while on vacation; used a bogo, buy 1 pizza any size get 1 free. Lucked out with $10 game wrist bands. We had a great experience; the pizza was crispy and fresh. Basically, we lost track of time and spent the entire evening playing retro games!

Go on a weekday. It will not be crowded. The games are retro arcade, pinball, and some skill type rolling/throwing games. Some needed maintenance. The most unused game was Karate. I would personally buy that arcade from them. I did not try the food. There is a bar in the arcade, which I see no reason for, could have put more games.

My brother and I and my nephew spent the day here and it was great. Love the 1980?s arcade games and atmosphere. Food was very good we had pizza and hotdogs. Will be back I suggest everyone to come by. You pay for a bracelet for unlimited game playing and u limited refills on soft drinks. It was great.

We came for the deep dish but were sad to see it basically is as thin as a regular pizza with a high crust and sauce. The taste is interesting because the sauce is amazing but everything else in the bite is bland. The burger didn't have seasoning but the bun was great! The fried mushrooms were the same story..bland. Now the biggest thing out of everything was the ranch?for $1.50 the cups are pre-filled half way. We asked and they brought out two more but shook the cup to make it look full. Out of everything

The atmosphere was lit up with neon lights with a bar in the center. The food was decent my kids love pizza. The Garlic Knots are good and the fried pickles are yummy too. The games are upstairs FYI ladies don't wear a skirt if you don't want the downstairs level seeing everything ?? because there is a spot you can walk over that you can see through the floor. Bracelets were $10 to play all games for as much as you want. Don't expect tickets because there isn't any. Got to play some of the games I used to p

We had a wonderful time at Retro. The staff was accommodating and attentive. We held a team event and I have to say all of my expectations were met. Great attitude, the Burgers are amazing. Pizza is fresh served. Live band, retro games, fun atmosphere. The price was affordable! We will host other events in the future. The team enjoyed it and we can't express our gratitude enough.

I took my kids here on a Sunday and we played games. It's 15 plus tax but is unlimited games. Good assortment of pinball, arcade and other options. The air hockey was lots of fun. It has a really neat glass floor that has a view down into the bar. Honestly we planned on eating there too but have not had luck with food at places known as a bar, but after reading posts and seeing pics we might have to try the food out next time. Looked to have great seating to eat and enjoy. This is definitely a place we woul

Such a great place and a welcome addition to downtown Corpus Christi. Something for everyone. A family friendly Bar and grill by day and by evening a hopping nightclub. Live Music, amazing collection of Retro Arcade games that is one time pay for a bracelet and play as much as you want. A speak easy style club in the back and even a rooftop party area that includes a stage for live music. A must go to place

The burger and french fries tasted fantastic. Upstairs there is a game room with a glass see-through floor. We played guitar hero, pinball, and a lot of other games. It cost $15 for a wristband to play as long as you want. They have a rooftop, unfortunately it was closed when we went. I would go again. This place had a cool vibe.

I really like everything about The Retro except the food. Paid $21 for a medium pizza. Paid an additional $2.50 for extra mushrooms. Received our pizza not only without the extra mushrooms we paid for but just a couple of small pieces per slice. We told the waiter about it and he brings a small serving of raw mushrooms. Wow! We were so appalled and just said never mind. Then when we walked out of there, we saw what a medium pizza size was supposed to look like. THEY SERVED US A SMALL PIZZA FOR THE PRICE OF

My brother was visiting from Oregon with his wife and best friend. We decided to check out the downtown scene and possibly bar hop. Retro was the 3rd place we stopped at. We had never been there and didn't know exactly they offered. The young lady at the desk when we walked in explained to us that for $15 we would have unlimited access to the 2nd floor for as long as we liked. We ranged in ages from 24-86. I really didn't think my 86 year old mother or 78 year old dad would enjoy themselves but we wer

Wife and I went for date night! I wasn't expecting a lot out of the pizza but it was awesome and we got it extra crispy! We sat at the bar and had great service and interaction with the bartender! Definitely going to try something else next time!

Retro is in the heart of the entertainment district downtown. Walk in to a classy Bar & Grill atmosphere with a huge wrap-around bar with lots of clear acrylic countertops and snazzy colored LED lighting. Plenty of table seating to enjoy some really good bar food, very tasty & definitely better than what you might expect. Dark walls, more LED lighting highlights, and an awesome sound system round out this space for a great addition to your downtown outing. But wait, there's more! You might barely notice

We had dinner for 10 for my daughters birthday. The food was great. The service was amazing! The waitstaff was so attentive. We will definitely be celebrating more family events at Retro!

Was fun until the man downstairs came upstairs being hostile. Also the bartender upstairs with the blonde hair is miserable, I would never ever wanna deal with her if I ever went out. I would avoid these ppl at all cost. Arcade is fun but the bartender upstairs and the guy downstairs complete air heads.

I went to celebrate my anniversary with my husband here this past weekend as we had been hearing about it and wanted to check it out & it definitely exceeded our expectations, I had posted that I was celebrating there on Facebook and tagged them in the post and shockingly the owner came out and provided us with a free dessert to celebrate the night, how nice and sweet! Great atmosphere and great fun & games! Thought I'd drop a 5 star review for how kind we were treated by the staff! Keep up the great work,

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER THE CHICAGO STYLE PIZZA!!! It is absolutely horrible. Crust was soggy and tasted like store bought biscuit dough and the sauce literally didn't even resemble a basic marinara. From a foodie who knows what this pie should at least resemble??..If you're going to be as bold as to offer a true Chicago deep dish- you best know how to deliver it! Delivered was almost 60 dollars and it's going straight into the trash.

Good time! ???? Games are in great working order, beer is cold and the bar stools are almost as comfy as my sofa at home. ?? Lots of screens to catch the game. Can't wait to check out the roof top in warmer weather!

Yo! This place is AMAZING! Games are great! It's insanely clean, middle of downtown, employees are wonderful, drinks are phenomenal, and the food is exactly the right price point and delicious. We will coming here all the time from now on!

Food is ok, waiter was friendly, however the girls at the bar taking orders were not, especially after you tell them you dont want to open a tab, unlimited play with wristband but not many options, a whole side of the wall is just pinball machines, not over 50 machines but games within such as pacman, galaga etc. It gets pretty crowded. ?????

I work right next-door, and I had tried to go to the Retro after a nine hour shift to meet my girlfriend and her friends who had been there on the roof, I walked over and went to the door showed the bouncer my ID. Some seemingly random woman said it was a fake at one glance. And the bouncer ran with it and said it was fake He said there's not even a star. I'm from New Mexico. There is no star it's a Zia symbol, one that can clearly be seen and matched to the ID if held up to a light. It's even Real ID certi

I recently had an incredible experience at the Retro Arcade in Corpus Christi. The combination of exceptional food and top-notch service made it stand out in the local scene. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, from classic arcade snacks to more substantial meals, all prepared with care and attention to detail. What truly set Retro Arcade apart was its extensive pinball selection, undoubtedly the best in the area. The machines were well-maintained and showcased a diverse array of themes, cater

Pizza was fantastic! Nachos and tenders were not that great. Great arcade upstairs and good price, $15 for unlimited play all day, it was a little crowded upstairs. We will definitely come back.

Great pizza, very friendly and helpful staff, great games though some were damaged or missing, but a great deal for unlimited play

My husband and I have enjoyed every visit here to Retro Corpus Christi! Every dish that we have eaten is very tasty and our favorite item thus far is the Chicago style build your own pizza. However, the wings come in a VERY close second to the pizza. We love the option of playing all of the various games upstairs from Ms. PacMan to Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong and Pin Ball. It's a total blast from the past and you will see all ages partaking in the gaming. There are also some old school kind of carnival g

Very cool concept and location in downtown Corpus which is mostly a ghost town otherwise. Pro's: Friendly staff, huge bar, with ample seating. About 40 arcade games with unlimited play for $15. Free parking. (Didn't try the food) Cons: was very crowded in the arcade area and with unlimited play, people hog up the popular games and don't be courteous of the time limits. One family was on the bowling game for an hour and never moved. RETRO needs to find a way to regulate play time so everyone has an opportun

There are three different areas to hang out and soon to be four, I enjoyed this location more than once on my last visit to Corpus

My review is solely based on the fact that when you call their number the recording says they are open at 4pm. Today 1/24/25 was in town visiting from SA and saw this place and the food looked good. I called the number which said they opened at 4. I show up and the place is closed.

Kinda cool, but was expecting a more traditional game room. Lots of kiddos. Ladies, the floor is see thru so wear your jeans or shorts! Onion rings were perfect!!

Just stopped in for a couple of beers and a pizza. It was about an hour before I noticed the glass ceiling above the bar was the floor of the arcade. Ladies, dress appropriately...

My kids enjoyed this place! Some of the games did not work, but overall was a great experience. We will definitely be visiting again.

Loved it! It has a replica of our current Corpus Christi bridge which I Love! Great food! Had the Selena pizza! Yummo! COLD beer!!! Didnt go to the game.room, but it's cool! U can dine downstairs and watch ur kiddos above through the clear celilng/floor!! Neat! And for those who want only adult company, there is a 21 and over only area in the back! We need more places like this in CV downtown!! Strong work! Highly recommended!! Oh and Kareoke nights there too!!

Parking is absolutely awful in this area on the weekends, the food was okay. You have to go to the bar to order drinks and food, no one comes to the table. It wasn't a bad experience per se but we don't plan to go back.

A lot of games were out of order which would've been fine if they told me before we paid for the wrist band.

I had to pay $15 for my 2-year-old that can't even play any of the games... cost me $56 for a medium pizza and two bracelets.. you're better off going to Peter Piper and getting more bang for your buck..

What an awesome place! The downstairs eating area and bar are lively, with plenty of TVs and everyone cheering while having a good time. The customer service was excellent; our busboy cleared our table before we were finished, and they even comped us new pizza and drinks! Upstairs, you'll find a fantastic retro gaming section with classics like Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, Off Road, and more, all for just $15 for unlimited gaming. Just a heads up?kids need to leave by 10 PM as it becomes 18+ after that

RETRO was such a cool experience!! $15 (plus tax) for unlimited game play!? sigh me up every time! the pinball machines were cool & the arcade games had an awesome selection!! 10/10

Staff was really friendly and the games were great. I recommend the hockey game but thats just me. They have a good variety of new and retro games. The pinball selection is great. I will be back and definitely recommend. The price is great and reasonable.

I have been here a few times. Everything is usually fun and chill. But this time, a creepy guy with a security jacket and sun glasses decided to follow me and my wife and son around. Everywhere we went inside and out, this creepy guy would show up and just stand there. We tested this by going from floor to floor just to see if he was following us. And every time, he would show up within 5 minutes. We don't drink alcohol or even look like the trouble making type. But for some reason, we were targets. I hop

A good place to have some fun with family and friends. Food was great and the arcade upstairs was awesome! Good prices as well and staff was friendly.

25 bucks for this? I'll never come back. Where the cheese And toppings? The response back is the reason I will never go .. Chicago style pizza? It's a joke.. you all are horrible

Our Band RepliKa got to play on the rooftop Friday night Great experience great atmosphere ,great staff ,and they do want us to come back! ??

Had an amazing time !! Kids loved it , was a little on the small side but hey the games and atmosphere was great ??definitely recommend. Adults downstairs and kids upstairs was awesome !

Went to the rooftop for a band but they were done. Didn't try any food....yet! I liked the variety of pinball machines and can't wait to go back.

We had the best time! It was affordable and clean. Service was great. Pizza was some of the best I've ever had. 10/10

Place was great had the hickory BBQ burger it was pretty good. The chicken tenders looked good my daughter had. Will be coming back.

Whole family enjoyed the arcade wristbands. Beat Konami's Xmen game for the first time in my life and with my kiddos

Had fun. Great atmosphere. Love the arcades and the pin pall machines. Good food.

The first time I visited, was with my teenage son, and we had a blast!!! We went to the arcade. I was pleasantly surprised they had $15 bracelets, with unlimited play! We purchased drinks, but no food. They have a good variety of games, older and newer. They have a see-through floor, where you can see down to the restaurant, which is pretty cool! In my opinion, the price is good, for what they offer. The second time I visited, was with my sister. We celebrated her birthday on the rooftop, with a beautiful v

Food was super delicious! Potato nachos were amazing! Highly recommend trying it out!

Had a great time. Drinks were good, food was good, friendly service, and great live music on the rooftop. Didn't get a chance to try out the arcade. I'll be back though.

The rooftop deck is a live music lover's dream come true. When the weather is nice, it is a cool spot with a view like nowhere else downtown.

We came from eating at another place. Then went upstairs to listen to great music. Love the variety of music.

Upon arriving the host was welcoming and kind. We sat ourselves and our two kids at a table by near the bar. Right as we got comfortable a felt something scurry up my leg and onto my knee, as I tried not to scream, I saw it. A huge roach crawl back down my leg and under the table leg. We then put off buying our pizza and went to the arcade upstairs. The atmosphere was decent but not a single place to sit down. My kids loved the retro games they had and we were back downstairs to have a couple beers. Husband

Such a cool spot to hang out and eat, game and get a drink. The speakeasy in the back is opening up soon!!!!

We did not get a chance to even order. We had a group of 13 people walk in, and the first thing was that We were told we needed to be quiet. We know this is a lounge, and with having so many people, how could we talk if we are told to quite down. ?? yes, we were a little load coming in, but we all were talking. the bar lost out, and the bartender lost out. Last night, we stopped at 1 bar before and 5 others after and spent over $400 at each location. I have been here before and have never been shushed

I actually went to Retro for the first time on 05/26/2024. From the time we entered, we were welcomed and were explained how it worked (being first time customers). All I can say is, wow! I did enjoy my time. The food was delicious and fresh right out of the kitchen. $10 due to the fact that it was a Sunday and I couldn't have been happier. The only complaint was that a lot of the games were kind of messed up. Guitar Hero and Alien controllers were unresponsive at times, but what do you expect when it's al

I love this place it's a trip to the 90's you only pay a fixed rate and you play indefinitely, with its arcade you can teach your children games from before with machines from now hahaha

Didn't have food, but the atmosphere was awesome!

Can stock better games. Pizza is awful and pricey. Pass. They need to readvertise Chicago deep dish to something else becuase it is anything but a deep dish.

A decent bar with ok bar food. Service is very enthusiastic and warm and there is a pretty good selection of drafts on tap, but the kitchen is mostly deep fried bar food that's underwhelming compared to local competition. Better than I expected for a drink in an arcade I stayed to eat because the game was on, service was good, and the glass bar and the impressive bar rack behind it in the shape of the Harbor Bridge is clever and in good taste. Probably ideal for an indulgent snack, a game, or a drink or ma

We played bunch of games but also number of them were kinda busted. They still technically worked but not completely. They probably need a better maintenance regiment for the games & need to level the pinball machines. Still a fun spot to stop in and play arcade games. We really wanted to go to the bar in the back but the bartender had left earlier that night.

Food was incredible. We got a pizza and I absolutely loved it. Upstairs is the arcade. It's so fun and they have an awesome collection of games. The rooftop is such a fun atmosphere! They had a live band playing, and it just made for such a fun night. A fun place for a night out with friends or family!!!

Server used automatic gratuity (family of 6). We paid for arcade, Ordered 4 adult drinks, and a couple kids drinks. Arcade games we not bad at all for Corpus, probably great actually. Bad review is for use of automatic gratuity. It felt like a sneaky way to extract gratuity. I'm on vacation, so I'm in a good mood to tip, but not like this.

Decided to meet up here for a get together with some friends so a group of us came earlier so we could eat. We thought we were going to be ahead of our frieds since we were supposed to meet up at 9:30 and we had ordered drinks, an appetizer and a pizza at 8:15. The last time we saw our server was when she took our order, never came back to ask if we wanted refills or if we were okay. For the rest of the time we waited and watched as other people showed up after us and got their drinks and food. About 40 mi

Me and friend visited all the way from West texas. RETRO has a really awesome vibe and has a good atmosphere. The staff was nice and was very informative upstairs. I think the bar for the arcade is a little too close and should only be downstairs since the kids and teens try to sneak a drink. On the other hand , my friend and I had a wonderful visit

Food was great. Family loved the games upstairs. $15/wristband to play unlimited games. Staff was friendly. Michael Meyers brought us our food which was awesome.

We had a good time watching the fight but I'm still waiting for the ?second charge? to return to my card! I did see a sign saying that a second charge will be charged to your card but returned but I'm still waiting ! Also our beer was served in plastic cups and it had an off taste we sat at the bar all night so I don't understand why we couldn't use glass cups at least to keep our drinks a little more cold. How long does this second charge take to get returned?

We had a wonderful time for a Birthday Party, The staff was amazing and the Pizza was amazing.

My family and I went for mother's day. The customer service was poor! The ladies looked and acted as though they hated their jobs. No smiles. No, "Have a good day" not even a simple "hello" when we walked in. We ordered pizza, which I felt was not worth the $30. We did enjoy the game room. IF we return, it will only be for the games.

Place is nice all the arcade games you think of are there lots of pinball machines the food is good I had the chicken tenders and there where crispy and juicy not dry and the rest of my party got a cheese and pepperoni pizza they said the pizza was good but they didn't like the crust. Great place to go to have a good time with friends and family

Retro is a place that's mainly for people who enjoy the game part of it, the food was Mediocre at best. I went with a few of my friends and we were seated, had no waitress or waiter, we had to order our own food at the bar, had to go up and ask for refills, it took well over 30 minutes for just Mozzarella sticks, And another 40 for the pizza. If it was busy I would understand. But it was not, Mozzarella sticks tasted like the Walmart brand, no cheese pull, and the Pizza tasted like Totinos, it had NO authe

I am outraged that a beer is served in a plastic clear red solo cup, it's been three weeks, bartender said plastic cups are temporary and will be glass again, it's been three weeks and now the beer is warm? Yeah and also your prices didn't Change 7 dollars for a blue moon draft is outrageously expensive high through the roof. I go in and get a draft beer and a small pizza and walk out spending 40-50 bucks, the pizza is also bad, it isn't homemade, it clearly resembles a box pizza from Sam?s warehouse?. Trul

Met some friends and sat in the speakeasy it was nice to be able to have a drink and carry on a conversation without having to yell. Mike was the bartender we had great service and enjoyed visiting with him. We Ordered a pizza which came out in a timely manner and was pretty good

We had big family gathering and we're all charged gratuity ON TOP of our original 20% tips. Mind you this is a SELF SERVED BAR. There was no wait staff. Older lady at the bar was very rude. Check your tabs before you leave. I would definitely ask for an itemized receipt before checking out.

I have been here a couple of times since it's opened. Great concept and love the vibe. However, it's gotten so dirty since it's opened. The games are really dirty. For example they airhocky table is so dirty and sticky that the puck doesn't even glide. The balls on some of the games are broken and falling apart. It just needs more maintenance and upkeep.

Meh...at best. It's summer...and they can't turn on one if the five "big ass fans"

Service was not good at all. Food was pretty good but overpriced. The staff did not care if I had a pleasant experience or not, so I will not return here.

Food was really good. They have a big game room for kids. Pat one price they can play as long as they want. Great Music on the roof top with a nice breeze all the time . Awesome place to watch fireworks also

Stopped in this evening to get some burgers and fries plus play some games. Bit disappointed in the burger and fries. Had Chili burger which would assume should be popping with flavor. But unfortunately this had to be one of the most tasteless bland burgers I've ever eatin. Looked good, bun was really nice but the burger itself was tasteless meat and the chili was not far behind. Sorry it could be a good burger but the kitchen needs to do something to flavor it up. Fries while ok could have used more time i

Horrible service. Ordered our food at 11:45 waited for OVER and hour and finally received our food at 1:25. Mind you. Other people who ordered after us received their food, ate, packaged their leftovers, and LEFT all around us. we contacted their servers a multitude of time about our orders progress always with the same reply about it being ?on the way?. I began to grow upset and ask a server for a refund about the terrible service with them saying that they would look into it. FINALLY, when the food of cou

Great food! Great place! Detroit Pizza is recommended. Potato nachos are such feel good and filling appetizers. I also enjoyed the calzone. They were stuffed with the right amount of pepperoni and cheese, and the crust was toasted to perfection and tasted delicious. ?? The eating area is clean and roomy with tv's all around so you don't miss your favorite sports while dining!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?
