I visited Portland for the first time and found this gem of a place! The vibe is excellent, the food is excellent, the drinks are excellent, the staff is excellent, and the game selections are excellent. If you want to play video games with your friends, this is the spot to do it! They have every console you could think of, and all of the hit games for each of the consoles! Wow what a neat concept and awesome place! You pay a flat rate per person to pkay any games for the whole night, and then can pay for food & drinks if you like. My mom and I had an absolute blast; she got to show me all these old games she would play as a kid, including Toejam & Earl. We absolutely loved getting to pick from so many consoles and games, moving between tables and couches. The staff were so helpful and I love that they set it up for you (so make sure to tip!) I will definitely be going again

Super quiet on a Wednesday night. They had a large selection of consoles, games, and stations. Staff was friendly and I would love to return again. Only had an order of their fries so I'm not sure what the food is like. Hope to find out next time. :)

Super fun bar full of video game consoles and some arcade-style games. You pick out your game from a locked case, tell a bartender, and they get it for you, plus controllers, and get the game running for you. They ask you not to touch the consoles. Don't be fooled by the games as this is a bar setting and you must be 21 and up to enter. You won't break the bank here, as long as you purchase food/drink you can play all you want for $7 per person. The slushy drink was really good and strong in the best way, and the fries are yummy. Amazing vibes, atmosphere, availability of games, and good staff. The garlic ranch and the fry sauce that was given for the $15 "Tender's Game" was god-awful. I could tell it was some sort of cheap brand, and it didn't taste good. The chicken tenders were also some cheap brand, not worth $15. Fries were great! If you go as one or two people, this is freaking great! If you plan to go as a group (4 or more), it's a little more complicating with getting the right seat to accommodate you if you want a multi player game with more than 2 people. The vibe was awesome. The drinks were great. We only had appetizers for food, but the ones we had were delicious!

We got there shortly after opening, and by 6:30 it was pretty busy. The game selection is top tier, the drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere made me feel like I was in the coolest basement from back in '97. When you go, you know: Now you're playing, with Power.

This place blew me away! Service was amazing, the bartender was super helpful and very friendly, the gentleman who rans the games was also very helpful. The food was top notch, we got the Golden fries 64, and they were delicious, we also got many of the custom cocktails all were appropriately named and taste amazing. Oh my gosh this place is amazing. They have so many old games that I've been dying to play for years. The drinks were delicious, if a little on the expensive side for what you get. But being able to play games I haven't been able to since I was a kid made it worth it. The food was also delicious and on theme.

What a fun place to hang out and have some drinks with friends! They have a very large selection of consoles and games with quite a few rare games. We will certainly be back and will share this place with more people. My husband is a little retro game collector so he loved it too.

One of the best bar experiences I've ever had in OR. Friendly staff helped get us settled without any fuss or pressure, and the vibe of the bar had me feeling safe and pumped to play all the games of my childhood. This place is much much more than their website and pictures lead on! I brought a group for a stop over during a bachelor party and between us all I think we tried 80% of the drinks menu and had a blast in their private room. The Retro Game Bar will be a frequent stopping place for my circle of friends!

Personally, the idea and the general vibes in this bar, are great. I've been here a few times and I've usually loved my experience. Unfortunately, today my waiter ruined my experience. Rolling their eyes at me, being impatient, and generally dismissive. I understand bad days, but I shouldn't be subjected to yours. Atmosphere was cramped and very loud, staff were always in a rush and had no qualms about pushing their way right past you but it was Saturday and they were working hard. I wouldn't recommend this place for a group larger than five or so, maybe on a weekday when it's less crowded. I just had a party here last night in their private party room, and it was such a wonderful experience! The staff were fantastic, the food was great, and the private room was so much quieter than the rest of the bar. In fact I could barely hear the rest of the very packed bar from in there. And at only $30 an hour for the room, it felt like quite a deal, especially for guaranteed space in the bar. My friends and I all had an amazing time. This is my go to spot to drink and play video games. They also have nonalcoholic drinks as well that are amazing. Large game selection on multiple consoles. Friday and Saturday is packed so you might be waiting around a bit for your turn to play. They have a back patio. There food is really good I wish they had more choices. And shareable plates. We just happened across this place as we were going to get drinks at the market next door. We stopped in and had a great time! Friendly and helpful service, great themed decor. We paid the cover charge to play games but didn't have any food or drinks as we were headed elsewhere soon. They had every gaming system imaginable as well as board games to play. Easily one of the coolest bars i've been to, for many reasons, but primarily their extremely unique atmosphere. Instead of board games or arcade machines, they made it unique and went for actual video games. You can use classic systems or the brand new ones, and there is a wide selection. You can get reasonably priced drinks that taste great here, and they have fantastic Ramen. A place to go for any nerd or someone feeling nostalgic.

Lots of cool events and specials, and they just opened a karaoke style game room that you can book. They have many different systems and a library of games available in the main bar and private room. A lot of fun, well known vintage games to play as well as some more obscure favorites. The servers are friendly and attentive and it was easy for me to change our my games for new ones. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that I really don't think their food is as good as it could be. I've had the chicken curry twice now and it's been just really meh, it tastes like instant/frozen microwaved food if that makes sense? I've definitely had a lot of better bar food.

Awesome place, great food, drinks and lots games to choose from! They have a new menu they are rolling out with lots of delicious options for everyone. Staff is very friendly and attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a good experience. All of their games are actual physical copies and not emulated which to me makes it even more impressive. Rotating tap list and constantly changing drink specials mean there's something different to try every time I come in (try their slushies!).

This is such a fun and clever bar! It's not very large, and was relatively busy the whole time we were there. You order at the bar. Menus had good variety. Creative game themed drinks. The games themselves were super fun and there were SO many options. Arcade video games and gaming systems. There are even a few board games. Our group enjoyed Simpsons, TMNT, Mario Kart, Mario party, basketball, and more! I'm sure we'd go there again.

This place is an absolute treat! So many consoles and games to choose from, with a great selection of drinks and killer cocktails made by the awesome bartenders.
