Most reviewers highlight the fair pricing, especially the $15 all-day passes and hourly rates, with many calling it a fantastic value. The owners are frequently described as friendly and passionate, contributing to a welcoming, family-friendly environment. While the majority of reviews are glowing (5-star), a few mention minor issues like occasional crowding or staff behavior. I came here all the way from Duluth (2 and a half hours away) to visit this arcade during my evening trip to Augusta. I was stunned at this place! There are countless pinball machines AND multicade machines! I so wish I lived closer just so I could be a regular here! But I will definitely come here every single time I'm in the area! 1 billion stars!

We love Retro City Arcade! Thank you for having us for my son?s 16th birthday! We had a blast and they help make everything run so smoothly. Love the atmosphere and the space provided for the party room was exceptional! Thank you for helping to make this day so special!

I drove down from Pennsylvania to visit my son. We found this gem and it was amazing!! If you are from out of town, make sure to stop by. If your local and haven't been there, you don't know what you are missing. If I get down that way again I t will be on the top of my travel plan. Every single game and pinball table was clean and in perfect working order. The owners were the nicest people!

Fairly small selection still. 50/50 from arcade to pinball machines. It was like 80 degrees outside today, and it felt 80 degrees inside this place. They offer pool for an additional fee. No alcohol on-site. I've been to several places that do offer adult beverages while you play for similar entry fees. Several machines locked up while playing (missing balls, flippers sticking, relays chatting, etc) Probably won't be back even when I'm on that side of town.

My kids and I love this place! The owners are absolutely amazing people that want to bring fun, old arcade games, and pinball machines back into the community. I can't stress how awesome this place is to bring your family for a few hours of fun. They try their best to keep everyone as safe as possible and a nice relaxing atmosphere to go along with it. Please keep up the wonderful business you have!

Absolutely recommend, this is one of my favorite arcades of all time. The instant you walk in, you're hit with a wave of nostalgia. The atmosphere is wonderful, bright lights, classic tunes and your typical arcade sounds. The owners have curated a nice selection of classic games (I'm a big fan of the pinball machines.) They even have a pinball league that's been running bi-weekly! The place stays clean, is family friendly, and perfect for date nights, solo visits, or just hanging out with friends. If you

This retro hang our spot is great for a walk down memory lane! They have amazing games like pacman, mortal combat, racing games and sooo many pinballs! It's all inclusive so you don't pay for each individual game

We had a great time! Everybody was having a lot of fun. Everything was working, clean, pleasant, and the staff were super helpful and very very nice. My kids loved it, as did I. Lots of great pinball and classic arcade games. We're really excited about their expansion and can't wait to go back and see all the new stuff.

We checked out this place on Black Friday & we all had so much fun. We ranged in ages from 12 to 61 years old (me). I think I might have loved it the most. I have never seen this many different themes of pinball games in my life. Let alone @ this one arcade. We will probably make this our new Black Friday tradition. The owners were so nice & friendly too. They even took photos of our whole group for us. WOW! The two hours we paid for went by too fast cuz it was SO MUCH FUN!

Overall great experience here while visiting in-laws out of town. A lot of nearby shops and food options. Prices very reasonable on an hourly/daily rate for video games. Plenty of arcade games of all ranges to accommodate. Terminator was my favorite! From talking to the owners on site, they are nearly doubling the square footage and have a lot of gaming machines in storage right now waiting to deploy once construction is done so I'm sure this space will become even cooler. Best of luck and thanks for the

Games were nostalgic and plenty of them but many of the joysticks were lagging and hard to really play. To be expected in some cases of course but more than just a few. Worst of all was the staff member Mike. Instead of addressing a situation where my children made a few missed throws on the Skeeball machine and didn't know they couldn't throw at the same time, he chose to scold them like they were despondent children and lashed out about "do you have $10,000 to pay for the machine? I didn't think so." Shor

I had a bunch of friends and kids, and we rented out the event space. This is a far superior experience to Dave and Busters. They have the Star Wars arcade game that I used to play at the movie theater before the movie started. They have a Gottlieb 1960 Baseball pinball machine that is so mechanical you have to physically pull a spring to ready a ball. They have a set of late 70s and early 80s pinball machines that you can just get lost in for hours. They have a skeeball machine from the old days. My friend

Had a blast here with my friends and came back a second time and had a blast again. My family said it was a blast from the past and was a very good experience. It's inexpensive to go as well as experiencing the retro feel! Can't wait to see them expand and grow into a bigger building with more games soon.

Almost had a bummer of a time. Drove from Columbia S.C. because I saw 2 games I can't find ANYWHERE else. The lady working the front was personable and told me to come back if I needed anything. I sit down in the Outrun 2 cab, and it's frozen... Not a great start. So, I just ask that girl if we can try resetting it with a simple restart. And she does. It was really as easy as asking an employee, no annoyance from either side. Then it worked like it should. It definitely seemed to be a PC copy set up in a

We had the best time at this place. It was such a fun night. I can't recommend this place more, come with your kids and have a good time because we sure did.

Wow, like going back in time . People who run it are super nice and very knowledgeable. A bunch of pinball games. They are about to expand, which would make it even better. They had the original centipede with track ball, space invaders and of course Ms Pacman. Frogger and the OG Simpsons game , the big one. A great place to bring the kids after eating near by at Rally Point.

The front desk lady (in her 50's) was pretty rude and for any vets out there they do not honor your spouse in the discount which I found odd. I was told since my spouse didn't serve she does not get the same benifits I do ??. (will not be coming back)

Super fun place! Highly recommend! The games are so unique! They live up to the name, truly retro.

I love pinball and this definitely cured my need to play. They also have a good assortment of old school cabinet arcade games. All the games are free and you pay by the hour. A nice visit to our childhood.

We had a great time here. We chose the 2 hour option so we had enough time to try every game that we wanted and didn't feel rushed. We were able to play all of the pinball machines and several multiple times in that time frame. Definitely worth the price. The bathrooms were clean and nice as well. I would highly recommend it as a fun date night.

Nice arcade. Good variety of pinball machines and stand up games (Galaga, Pac Man, etc.) Air Hockey, Skee Ball, Foosball also. Will definitely return!

I didn't know this place existed until I took my son to get a haircut at Sports Clips. Me being an 80?s kid and both of my sons enjoy playing retro games, this place is perfect for us. We took advantage of the unlimited passes on Wednesday and Thursday for $15 per person. It's a really great deal! They are located in a shopping center so there are several places to eat and go back to play more games. The place is very clean, they sell some snacks and drinks, and have a couple chairs outside to rest your fee

It's a very cool idea but is currently kinda cramped and they don't have many period correct vintage games. Most of what they have is emulated versions of old games in a modern cabinet. I understand it's pretty hard to find and maintain real retro machines, especially pinball (which are my favorite) but, I feel like to be a "retro arcade" it needs to have the actual machines of the era they're aiming for. Otherwise, the correct atmosphere isn't all there. Hopefully their upcoming expansion will include so

SUPER FUN! Love the pinball machines and retro arcade games 10/10 would recommend

An absolute treasure of a place. This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a "free play" arcade. The machines are all extremely well maintained (especially for the age of some of the vintage pinball machines). Not to mention the facilities and arcade itself being spotless. Owners are both extremely friendly and helpful for when you want to find that niche game in one of the multi cabinets. Can't wait to come back and see how the place grows with the upcoming expansion.

Bunch of pin ball machines. They have a lot of emulators on arcades. Which is not bad, but another of people don't understand how they work. Maybe give more direction to those who don't know. :)

Totally awesome place! It's really for the more mature crowd, because they have all of the games from our childhoods in there, like Super Mario Bros and Galatica. There's even a machine with 15,000 games on it alone. There are so many pinball machines here, and they plan on expanding the location, so they'll have more games and hopefully party rooms. As a 40 something year old gamer, I had a BLAST and will be back weekly. Free play for 10 dollars an hour??? Yes, please!!!

Great place, great games and great owners(very friendly). Brings back memories and my 14 year old loves it. As far as young kids playing just one game...who cares? Go play the other games, as there a tons of games. Also, why blame the owners when their parents are right there?? Just ask the parents of that child if you can play! Oh and don't expect the owners to physically remove a child just because they are playing a game. If you are afraid of speaking to grown ups to ask to play the game their child is

Went here today for the first time. Excellent experience! Took my kids to experience what a 90's arcade was like. They loved it and I loved it! Great prices for cheap, nostalgic fun!

Just revisited for the expansion grand reopening. New setup is amazing! Staff and ambiance were also great! Love coming here and excited to return in a few weeks

nice little place, something fun local? support small businesses

Amazing variety of pinball and classic arcade game machines. You cannot beat the pricing either. The staff were really nice. We all had a great time and will be back again for sure!

Closed for reasons when my family and I tried to go. Very intriguing idea and hopefully we can reschedule when they can be open. I'm sorry you feel I was being negative. I merely posted my experience and that my family and I were unable to go. I don't think 3 stars is a negative review but a neutral review. I am sorry to hear about your illness and hope you are well soon but I do not track Facebook so was unaware. Still would hope to be able to attend and wish you the very best in these troubling times.

Friendly and clean. Love all the variety of games for one price

Had a really fun time! $15 all day passes every wednesday and thursday, snacks, pinball, and nearly all the classics that come to mind when thinking about arcade games. Might just be because i?m a sucker for arcades but I believe Arcade Retro City is awesome!

Ok now this place brought me back to my childhood! The owners are very friendly and they've put together a clean and comfortable environment for anyone who loves old pinball and arcade games! If you're ever in town stop in, relax and just enjoy. Thank you for your hospitality!

Whole Lotta Fun! I was only there for one hour but had a blast playing on the FREE PIN BALL machines and the FREE standup arcade machines! They allow drinks inside and some machines have cupholders. They are talking about expanding into the available space next door. I hope they bring in some Shoot-em-up games (which I didn't notice currently)!

First time there this evening. Really fun place, family and I had a great time and will be back. I remember pumping quarters into some of these machines decades ago. I may have gotten better at Donkey Kong and Centipede.

Excellent owners!! Not especially for younger children under 10. Some adults will not allow them to play games and stay on one game for extreme amounts of time!! Otherwise it is really fun to hang out with your kids for a little while and have fun ??

Newly renovated and expanded. Lots of awesome arcade and pinball classics. A new billiards room. Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Everything is well maintained and clean.

Fantastic arcade. Every machine was clean and working. The owners were great. We took an entire basketball team and had a great time!

Incredibly friendly owners. Machines are in great condition and the atmosphere is arcade perfect. It's a small building but I think they have plans to expand in the future. I look forward to seeing it!

Yall, we went down to Retro City Arcade - Evans, GA today with 4 of the kids. We stayed for 2 hours and spent less than 100 bucks!!! The owners are AH-mazing, salt of the Earth folks! They were kind, attentive, sociable, and all around hospitable. They are only soft opened and have an expansion in the works of 3000 sqft!!! If you ever hung out at an arcade in the 90s the nostalgia factor is REAL! Run don't walk to this new gem and be blown away like we were!

Enjoyed our spur of the moment drop-in. Both members of staff were very friendly! No issues with games. Really nice to see something out of the ordinary in the Evans area!

Takes me back to my young. Had such a great time.

Had a great time on the various pinball machines! Definitely want to come back sometime. :)

Love this place! Plenty of pinball machines both older and newer. Super cool arcade games and you can play as much as you want within the time limit you paid for!

Family friendly environment. You will definitely find a game that fits your fandom. They have Gift Cards. For $10/hr all free play you can't beat that!

Great little arcade with pinball and modern cabinets of arcade originals like Frogger, Galaxia, Super Mario Bros and Mortal Combat. Only request would be a button mapping on the cabinets as the game instructions don't match to the buttons on the cabinets.

Good Place Reasonably Priced Definitely Will

We had such a good time! It took me a few minutes to get back into the tricks of Frogger, Centipede and PacMan. Played A Lot of Pinball and forgot it was 2023 for just a few :-). I'll be back!

poor attitude , staff playing games and scolding a kid then adult next to child . Only playing a game .

My family and I had a great time today. Great to know that they're going to be expanding soon to make it even better. Great owners too.

Amazing fun and really great prices too! People running it are really nice, and all the machines are in amazing condition! Retro City Arcade is a MUST-TRY! <3

$10 for an hour or $15 for two hours. Fun arcade with tons of classic games and pinball.

Great atmosphere and a good collection of pinball machines and arcade games. All freeplay and only $10 for an hour

Fun spot to play the classics. Owners were friendly and I look forward to them expanding the place.

Great addition to our community! My family and I had a blast there this afternoon. Can't wait to go back!

Loads of fun for young and old!

Great little date night spot! Very friendly owners. Can't wait to come back.

Love this place! Great for kids and adults! If I could leave more stars, I would!

What a great place to go play video games. And you can't beat the price!!!!

Owners didn't know how there machines worked and made it seem like a hassle if they had to try and understand or had to fix them. ??????

What a fun experience. Had a great time. 10/10 will be back, soon.

Heard about this place from my cuz what a great trip down memory lane great owners and great games

So much fun!! Can't wait to go back.

So much fun and and owners are great people!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
