Good drink selection, some fun games well suited for all ages, and a neat electric vibe in the downtown area. Would be perfect for a large party. Some games are worn bit still fun to play. The retro games offer a nice perk that newer ones don't. I went in the middle of the week after dinner and it wasn't too crowded.

We had a blast at the Rec Room. The space is full of arcade cabinets, skee-ball, pinball, air hockey, and there's even DDR and Guitar Hero. Perfect for a casual night out, date night, or even a lively group hang.

We had a 25 people event for a birthday party, rented out the outdoor patio, and we couldn't have been happier having it at Rec Room. Paige was our event coordinator. She was very thorough in explaining the process, communicating and more than helpful during setup/party/break down. Christian and Blair, our bartenders were amazing! Definitely on top of their game w the drinks served! We would definitely come back again for future celebrations! We took the unlimited card deal as well which everyone enjoyed. I

Fun place, small arcade but plenty of options. Recommend going and having fun. Not many non alcoholic drink choices. No bottle water, be prepared on that part. Otherwise fun little place.

We had a blast! A super awesome arcade bar! Some machines are free play and others you need a game card for. Very attentive staff behind the bar, and there is someone always around in case you need help with any machine. Great ambiance and cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating.

So, we haven't been here in months and tonight it was VERY different. Bartender didn't know how to make a cherry vodka sour, both games I pictured took our money and didn't work, also the first ski ball machine. Multiple games and the floor were sticky. I threw my husband?s 40th party here! We had the best time. We rented out the whole space and it was very reasonably priced. The bartenders, Christian and Conrad, were so great with my kids and my technology requests. Everyone had so much fun. The games were versatile and plentiful. I highly recommend it!

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Here randomly on a Sunday night to unwind and decompress and I'm pleasantly surprised to find out my bill is slashed by 50% because I work in the restaurant industry. We had a birthday party there. Everything went amazing. Paige was awesome to work with. Christian and Conrad were our bartenders for our party. They were very helpful and welcoming to everyone in our party. I recommend having a party there.

Really broke down gaming arena. Many of the games were either broken entirely, partially, or missing pieces. Way over priced some games cost $6 per person per play. Save your money and go somewhere that is decently maintained.

Our party had an incredible time at Rec Room following our gender reveal earlier in the day. We had about 20 people from the party join us out and there and there was something to do for everyone. I had an issue with the machine giving me too many gaming cards and the staff was able able to help me get my money back all the way from Naples, FL. highly recommend Rec Room!

First time there was a great experience . It was a mellow crowd mostly college students. Everyone seem to get along with each other. The staff was very helpful from he security who checked your I.D. in the front to the guy helping out with the game card..They told us to please come again as we leave. It's ok I don't live in Lakeland anymore but the bartender was very attentive and I was down there for a funeral. Drinks were good.

Rec Room was an instant favorite from day one. The atmosphere is perfect for the location and the ownership is top notch. Also, Rosie, Matty, Conrad, Mallori, Alex, Honey and the entire bartending crew are the best in town. Big thanks to Conn, Barrett, Ripley, and everyone else in the group for stepping out in the midst of 2020's insanity to bring something awesome to our downtown.

Fun atmosphere to take friends and even a date night. All the workers are fun and easy to talk to. You can play video games at the bar or play some old school games as well.

Nice little arcade bar with a small but decent selection of classic arcade games, and drinks. We only had one drink but the bartender was a nice guy. The only thing that bothered me and my wife was that the entire floor was sticky? Found that a bit odd but cool spot nonetheless. If you're around the downtown Lakeland area, this is a good place to hang for an hour or two.

Cute little hole in the wall arcade bar. Not very many games in this place, half we're broken or out of order. Credits are decently ($5 for 50 credits) priced to play games, but then it's like 15-20 credits to play a single game. Bartender was not alert and wanted to talk to her boyfriend who was hanging out behind the bar at the time, took 10 mins to get a drink.

Loved it. The Rec Room is the best spot to play games, and hang out with you friends. The drinks were reasonable, with signature drinks starting at 8 dollars and moving up to 12. This spot features ping pong, video games,darts, and all of your arcade favorites. The crowd is a little young, however it was really diverse and accepting. This place gets five stars for the uniqueness, easy of parking, quality of drinks, and overall experience.

Not family friendly....they play music with far too many swears for starters. (even on a Sunday at 1:00pm) Bartenders are not kind to the children either...seem bothered by them. A bit disappointed...prices went up. Not a fan of the scan card. Less games around the place today than last time we were here. Many games are broken. Drinks are expensive and short. I think we just went for our last time today. Too many changes. Even the only source of food here, one vending machine, was empty.

We have been here twice now, and haven't had a bad experience. Great drinks, great service from the bar tenders, Matt is the best. Good games, but some are not playable, and some are not playable with the game card, thinks this needs to be fixed. Overall, will indeed be back.

My husband and I have been here a couple times now and always have a blast! There are tons of games to play, fantastic service, and the drinks are always great. It does get a little busy on weekends, and sometimes the patrons are not wearing masks during these busier times (no fault of Rec Room, they do post signs asking everyone to wear masks). Decent place. Was fairly clean. One of the men's restrooms did not have soap. Had to wash my hands in another bathroom. Drinks were a little pricey. Overall, it is a decent place to go and have a few drinks and play some games with friends and family.

Fun gaming bar with retro arcade games paired with a good atmosphere and great drink selection. There is a bit left to be desired unfortunately and not having access to tokens via credit card (as it was cash only) was disappointing. Despite that will plan to go back again

This afternoon was my 2nd time going. It's a very chill and fun place. I love the sour patch drink. Mario Party or Cart at the bar is awesome. I recommend going after 9 to avoid all the kids though. That's the one downside, in my opinion.

Was out celebrating with some friends and decided to rent a switch for one hour for $25. The controllers had a pretty bad case of drift but staff was actively trying to help us find better controllers to play on, which I appreciated !! Got home and checked my account and they only charged me $21 for the rental, which was unexpected but appreciated!! ($4 is $4 in this economy lol) Overall great experience and I had a fun night!!

Great place. I want to see UV lights, Dance games, and more seats at the bar. It felt uncomfortable getting drinks since the bartenders were really busy but the atmosphere, switch games, free to play machines sprinkled throughout was extremely fun. Outdoor games were super cool, too.

I had been to another arcade bar before, but since the galaxy bar is no longer in lakeland, I thought another "barcade" like the rec room might fill the space, it was the wrong assumption. That may be down to my expectations as a 40 year old guy, expecting a retro experience that would hark back to the 80s and 90s, the prime time for arcades. My grandson's had a good time. The 6 year old went under ping pong table to retrieve the ball and this happened on a piece of glass under there. Worker was shown the glass and didn't even offer an apology.

Love the atmosphere and that they allow kids until a certain time. And best of all, they have big buck hunter pro! Only thing they need to do is fix their card reader so players are able to swipe their players cards.

Liam is the best bartender. Some other bartenders won't fill up your drink all the way, or have nearly as much personality. Liam does it right, dapped us up before heading out, cool dude.

Fun place with great friendly staff. A bit sticky from drunken patrons spilling drinks but overall the place is fun and affordable. The bartender Chris was very friendly and during a slow period even played a few games with me to kill time since I was alone. Worth the visit and went back a few times while I was in the area.

My favorite place to hangout and have a good time in Lakeland! Rec Room has a great atmosphere with an extremely friendly staff. You can tell how passionate the owners are about creating a fun environment and having something there for everyone to enjoy. I LOVE that we have a place like Rec Room to play, and enjoy the downtown vibe! Great bartenders, games and fun. If you're in from out of town, think, Chuck E Cheese for grownups! Love this locally owned establishment!!!

It's a nice barcade. The machines for the most part work and are fun. I found a few set free to play, and some screens had problems. The bar seemed ready to serve. I enjoyed the lounges and how they were designed. They also have a pingpong set up that I am envious of.

We searched "arcades" in maps to take the kids. This popped up 1st. Took a shot, went at 2pm (thank goodness) because it's a bar w old school arcade games. The older kids enjoyed it somewhat, but the younger ones couldn't reach or play anything. This seems like a great time for young adults (even had vip rooms with PlayStations in them).... But not really a place for kids/families. I think they might sell food. We were looking for a staff member or a menu, but didn't see one until we left the was a waitress

They don't sell food. That's why the rate on Food. The place is really great, bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favorites places in Downtown Lakeland.

The drinks were so yummy and the games are fun. Definitely gives you a subtle place to chill with friends. We'll be coming back so much more now that we know this Gem exists.

Checked out Rec Room last night for the first time. As soon as I walked in I noticed how clean it looked and smelled. So impressed! They have awesome games, a full bar, and friendly bartenders. Will be back for sure!

This place is really gone down hill. Half the older machines on the floor don't work and the staff kept bothering our party. At least the Bartender was friendly.

It's a good combination of kid-friendly and adult fun with its array of arcade games as well as drinks. The location is ideal, too, as it is adjacent to a parking garage.

Rec Room is suffering from a HUGE identity crisis! The family and I decided to come unwind one Friday night and were surprised to see the amount of obviously underage students. Is this place a bar or is it a high school game room that also serves alcohol?? There were more drunk teenagers than a Junior Prom and the management here is obviously ok with it. I love the atmosphere, the staff are all amazing and are always friends, drinks are always ten out of ten but really who doesn't wanna get drunk at an adult arcade?

Stopped at the rec room while I was out with my friends for a Halloween celebration. Stayed briefly because it was geared more for the younger crowd. Too many young ladies running around hardly dressed made my friends rather uncomfortable. They were so busy I couldn't get a drink because the line was so long... so, I moved on to the Lakeland loft.

I hate leaving reviews but I am tired of the horrible service here.. Multiple bartenders just ignore me and others. I have given them money and I just get my change thrown in my face. I do nothing but give all my money to this place to be disrespected. I really hope the atmosphere and staff changes so I can enjoy coming here like I used to.

This place is nothing like I thought it would be. Let's just say it's not that great inside. They have very few games and they are all old, old games and not even the good old games. Only see it as a hole in the wall bar... and not in a good way.

Blaire the bartender gave me the absolute worst service i?ve ever had. Constantly ignored me and when i ordered a drink she acted like she had no care about even being there. Myself as long as everyone i know will never be back here again ! Absolutely the WORST service i?ve ever had at a bar!

The family and I had a great time at the downtown Lakeland Rec Room. It was nice to have a quick escape while awaiting our seats at Harrys seafood. The bartender was awesome!

Nice place to just get out of the house. They have games there for everyone of all ages. Friendly service too. Floors were sticky though.

I've had a lot of fun here and expect to have even more fun in the future. Decent selection of games and a great place to watch all the games. If I could recommend one thing, it'd be more pinball machines!

Pros: This is a great bar to kill time. They have both throw back and new games to try for a decent price. Cons: A lot of the games are out of order. The cost of games are unclear.

I took my older kids we had a great time. I saw a 64 with Golden Eye hiding in a back room, I'm definitely going to find out what we need to do to play that next time!

Some of the games are out of order, but the bar is excellent, they have fast service, and the games that are working are all good classics. Games are also pretty cheap, with most only needing 2 tokens.

Cool place. There are fewer games then I would expect at an arcade bar, but the games they do have are generally cheaper, and a few were even on free play mode.

I came here with a date and had a ball playing my favorite game of all time: Super Smash bros. Aside from many other games, they had a Nintendo Switch hooked up to one of the TVs behind the bar! I played other against other people at the bar while having drinks. 10/10
