Awesome game selection with consoles, vintage arcade games, pinball, and some Japanese games. They also host fun events and karaoke. We always love going here, and even rented it out for our bachelorette/bachelor party. Anyone looking to rent out a place for a party or event I can't recommend them any more. They are fun, professional, and have a great karaoke set up. We love Realms and hope they continue to have great business and support!!
We really enjoyed this place. It's small and quaint. If you're looking for a ton of variety, you won't find it here. There is, however, enough to keep you occupied for several hours. They have a nice row of pinball machines, mainly newer pinball games. They have some old school arcade games like Afterburner and Pole Position as well as the staples Centipede and Asteroids. Great little place. They also have drinks available as well as beer and wine! $10 for adults. Not too shabby considering you can play fo
Everyone had a blast here! They had retro games, but also newer rhymes games. There was also a dance floor for when they have shows.
This was a really fun place to chill at after work. Owen, the bar tender, was super friendly and explained how it worked. You pay a 10 dollar fee, you can order some drinks if you like, you can then take those drinks over to the arcade games and you can play as much as you want. Simple as that. Nice place! They just need more games imo.
What a wonderful spot to spend a couple hours, in an area of Boise that needs more kid-friendly establishments. They've really done a rad thing here. A great bargain to play some excellent new and classic arcade games! Shows, snacks, great vibe! We go whenever we can. So should you!
Pretty decent selection for the size of this place. Super reasonable $10 entry fee and you can free play all the games. They even have a few consoles. Staff is always sweet and welcoming.
This place was introduced to me a month ago and since then, I have been an avid frequenter of Realms! The atmosphere is lively and full of character and nostalgia! There's old arcade games and video games ranging from different decades and in all varsities! There's even Japanese video games in the collection! Further, they have a bar and serve little snacks if you feel hungry or want to sit down and take a break from all the fun gaming and activities! There's even concerts on the weekends you can tune in to
It's nice to only pay one flat fee and be able to play all the games you want. Hoping they expand, would be nice to be a little bigger and have a bigger selection. Loved the Japanese games, it was hilarious trying to figure out what to do in a different language, but ended up being some really fun games. Great pinball selection. I love that there's a room with couches and a video games as well. Friday night was very loud and crowded but everyone was having a great time.
BEST ARCADE IN TOWN! One of my favorite hangout spots and the host concerts!
Absolutely awesome arcade!!! I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had all the classics. I was able to play everything from 007 GoldenEye on Nintendo 64 to Mario 3 on NES. They have a wide variety of pinball and arcade games. The staff gets two thumbs up ????????.
Great place and great value to play games. I have only been once as it is a drive from home to here. I stopped in to check out a few pinball machines and try before I bought. They had the models I wanted to look at and they allowed me to play at a reduced cost as i was just there to really look at 4 pinball machines prior to making a purchase, The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I was there for less than an hour and found this to be a really cool place.
Well worth it! Free play on all games for the price of admission, all day, AND you can leave & come back. Sushi Joy is conveniently just across the street. Also in walking distance is Casanova Pizzeria. Realms is easy to get to and has parking lot parking. They have games for everyone. I personally love the selection of pinball games, Ms. Pac-Man, and Mario Cart. I'm terrible at DDR, but if you're into it they have that too, plus a bunch of others. I'm looking forward to the addition of karaoke. It's a good
This place is a whole vibe. Ask for Cam, Dean, or Sage. The entire crew there rocks! Must visit if in Boise! Great lineup of games and beverages!
Really great spot - it's lowkey and so many fun nostalgic games. Staff are very friendly. Charmingly local and quaint - they host shows sometimes too.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Dean, Cameron, and Jule for their outstanding service! Highly recommend coming here with friends and family. It was our first time and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks to the crew!
Hands down one of the best music venues and arcades I've ever been to. My band stopped here on tour to perform and all the staff was so wonderful. Super nice sound system, live visualizer and literally the best ambiance you could ever ask for from a diy venue. They also have some of the best selections of arcade cabinets you don't see anywhere anymore. They had a cabinet of berserk, battle zone, afterburner, and some games I've never even heard of. Plus a neo geo cabinet with every rom you could possibly th
Super fun, arcade games from every genre and decade. Small menu, beer/wine/sake, also a music venue. Awesome pinball selection.
Great place had a lot of fun for our family hangout. Pinball machines, arcade games, and modded consoles with a variety of selections. Pay a flat fee and go in and have a good time.
I visited mostly to check out the pinball games. They have a nice selection of games and I plan to return. I didn't try anything else, but there are a decent number of arcade games, consoles, and a DDR station. The entry fee seems like a good value, and I've read they have drinks and snacks for sale also.
Realms is our new favorite place in Boise! My husband and I love that we can hangout with friends and have drinks at the bar while our kiddo is having a blast on the games. $10 entry fee per adult our 6 yo is just $6 for all day of play! Realms has a wide variety of games and is run by a father and son duo who are very passionate about pinball and arcade games. They have a friendly and cool staff & maybe best of all it's local not a corporate owned chain.
Realms arcade is my new hangout!! This place is so awesome. I'm in my 30's and always looking for a place to drink beer and play retro games.
This place is great! Good selection of freeplay arcade games and Friendly staff. Great spot to meet up with some friends and have a few beers.
Fun little arcade. Not a huge selection of games or pinball machines but enough to keep you busy for $10. I wish they had more 90s Williams pinball tables. Most of them are new Stern tables with the LCD screens.
I've been going to arcades for a better part of 40 years. And I know in 2024 arcades aren't as popular anymore. But Realms misses the mark in so many ways. However I do believe they could be something great if there was a redesign!
Awesome place, dean was amazing. Awesome service. Best arcade around since grinkers.
Realms Arcade is a nostalgic haven for gaming enthusiasts and casual players alike. The atmosphere is vibrant, with a mix of classic and modern arcade games that cater to all tastes. The layout is functional, elegant and spacious. It includes a pinball/arcade area, classic and modern console stations, private lounge room and a stage equipped with state of the art sound and lighting. Concession bar offers a wide variety of snacks and drinks, making it a great spot for a casual hangout with friends or family.
Most amazing place I've ever been to in the city of Boise Idaho you can get drinks and play games super cheap and they have live music too which is amazing couldn't ask for a better place the owners are top notch. I mean where else can you see Matt Pike from high on fire
Fantastic arcade to enjoy with friends, family, and kids of all ages. As a kid who grew up playing video games in arcades, bowling alleys, and skating rinks in the 80?s and 90?s I get a nostalgic feeling every time I step through the doors. Realms has something to offer for everyone and aside from retro cabinet games they have many modern imported rhythm games from Japan which are both fun and challenging. Realms also hosts many community events as well as live music featuring local and national touring art
Realms is my favorite place in all of Boise!! I genuinely feel from the bottom of my heart that this place has completely changed Boise for the better in a multitude of ways. The owners have truly birthed something remarkable and irreplaceable into Boise, and it should be treasured vastly, and loud and clear. The opportunities and experiences it's granted the local music scene as a venue is something that I can say not only for myself, but for many of my friends, has completely changed our lives. Not to m
Awesome and fun place. So many cool new and vintage video and other games for different ages and interests. Great music, cool lighting and nice bar with good brews or non alcoholic drinks. Only place with 7 foot tall owners Todd and Tanner. They also have great live bands and other entertainment in the venue side. Check it out!
I have been going to Realms with my wife and kids since the day they opened. I love this place! They have great games and great live music most nights. They have a great staff and the owners Todd and Tanner are great gusts with an extensive knowledge of games and music. Hands down my favorite place in town to hang out!
Realms is a one of a kind creative outlet serving a wide range of ages. From killer games to killer live music, it's a go-to favorite! The staff is very kind and attentive. Good food and drinks. I am having my daughter's baby shower there this winter. I can't think of a better place.
Absolutely the best barcade vibe in Boise. Ghibli movies playing on multiple screens, retro systems and arcades on a free-play entry fee system and a great staff. I'm so glad we came and you will be too. Great for kids!
Pure nostalgia! Having grown up in the 90s, I became very familiar with many of the arcade games hosted here. All of them are in fantastic condition and work great! No missing buttons or sticky controllers ha ha Really warms my heart to see working a working copy of Mortal Kombat 2, but nothing scratches that nostalgia itch like playing house of the dead 2 with a second player and unlimited lives. It was one of my favorite games growing up, and I was so happy to see a working copy again! I counted seve
Great selection of modern pinball machines in good condition and some Japanese-import rhythm games, with the inclusion of a few other less common 80s-90s video games as well. Solid recommendation!
This place is awesome! They are one of the only old school arcades in Boise and they are also a concert venue! They serve beer sodas and root beer floats. They have a private room for events with karaoke and they do a great job taking care of their machines! Of the times I've been there's sometimes one or two machines that are down but between that and DDR they have always had it back up and running by the time I came back! They do a $10 and everything is free to play, you can even leave and come back which
Realms is a stellar place for both family games days and loud awesome live music nights. Clean, prompt bar service, and the entry fee grants you ALL YOU CAN PLAY for all the pinball tables and arcade games. I've had only great experiences here at Realms. Looking forward to my next trip down there, probably for a rock show and some pinball.
This place is amazing , $10 for all night play of all games. Great , family friendly, environment that always has the friendliest staff. Never seen a bad interaction with staff or customers or anyone here. It's nothing but a good time here
Only been there once for an anime club meeting/event, but pretty cool place. Only reason I don't give them a five-star rating is their hours of operation. I honestly don't understand why they aren't open two hours later throughout the week, unless it's an issue of staffing.
Amazing experience! My husband, my 5 year old little boy, and myself had an amazing time at realms and have been back several times!!! Can't wait to come back again and again because there's nothing like this place in the valley. 10/10 recommend and I do not fear having my kiddo here ever!
Such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. My family was always a fan of Grinkers and was sad to see it go and while we also loved Spacebar, once we had our child we were unable to take her there because it was 21+. We have enjoyed this so much and I personally love the Japanese games they have there as well! Will definitely keep frequenting often and will absolutely recommend to others!
I just left stars before, but let me add context for people that think it's not safe for kids. I take my 9 year old there ALL THE TIME and she never wants to leave. They treat her like a queen. They treat everyone with the utmost respect. I generally don't even like going out in Boise anymore, but this is one place that I really love to go and feel safe. These reports that they scream at people and say horrible things, that's not even close to how Realms staff are. They're the kindest and most honorable peo
Realms is one of the best family owned venues/arcades in Boise. The staff is very accommodating and every experience I have had there has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are very lucky to have such an amazing venue in Boise.
Realms is an awesome local barcade and venue supporting many different underground sub-cultures without discrimination! Great pinball, great owners, great vibes! If you love games, music, art, pinball, and good vibes this yo spot.
My friends and I absolutely love Realms Arcade! We come down three to four times a month. They have over forty arcade cabinets (classic and modern), plenty of pinball, with TVs hooked up to classic consoles scattered about. Best of all, it's $10 for a day pass, with all the games set to free-play. No messing about with tokens or quarters! There are often DJs, bands, or other events on the weekends, if that's your thing. Heck, I even placed third in my first ever pinball tournament there! The layout maximis
Realms is a vibe. Great selection of arcade and console games, absolute saints of employees. Very welcoming and hospitable. Family friendly, but also got a bar for the scallywags. They host good shows. Trippiest place in Boise, the ambience is impeccable. 11/10 HANG OUT HERE
Place was awesome! Solid selection of retro games as well as a console corner. Had an absolute blast
I have nothing but great things to say about the realms crew, the way they run things, the environment, ect. Never once has realms fell anything short of family friendly! They are truly good people with good intentions at heart. I'm so glad I've had the pleasure to experience such a place as realms arcade! Im exited for monthly passes sometime in the future!!
This is such a great arcade. They have all the best games and a huge selection of pinball. Not only that, they have great shows, from punk to EDM and everything in between. And the staff is so cool and friendly. Such a fun place.
Had plans to bring my teenager and friends in, but after seeing the disrespectful attitudes of the employees towards clients and staff of another business. I will take that money and put it into the other business. As the reply shows. The Apple does not fall far from the tree. From day one of visiting property staff and owner it seems believe their business is the only one that should be there . As a VISITOR i should not be glared at for parking in the other suites parking. This entire staff needs to
Insanely cool ambiance and great drink selection. This is a great bar/lounge space even outside of the arcade aspect. Pricing is definitely fair considering the free play arcade games. The plethora of games are awesome including the unique selection of games provided at the actual bar itself which is something I've never seen before. The all ages aspect is also an awesome touch. Definitely a diverse/alternative space that stands out in Boise. Can't wait for the events/concerts to come considering how sick t
This is such a great place where everyone is welcome! Loved playing the games and watching the many eclectic bands that perform there?.so fun! Staff are great! Boise really needed Realms
Realms is an awesome place to experience live music and DJ's; it's a safe spot for folks of all ages - AND - bonus fun: arcade games!! Run by super sweet people who are community minded; absolutely worth supporting!
This place is awesome! Affordable fun for all ages with great service from the staff, good music & drinks! Our kids can't wait to go back.
What an awesome place! We celebrated my sons 10th birthday and all the kids had a blast. I myself played a couple of games and felt like I was 13 all over again. Thank you to the staff for taking care of us, you guys are great!
Realms is an AMAZING place where live music, video games, friendship and good times live! The staff is amazing and the place is extremely kind, safe, friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a fun place to go I highly recommend REALMS!
Awesome place for the whole family! We were visiting Boise this last weekend and wanted to find a place we could grab drinks but also a place where my 12 year old nephew could hang out as well. Stumbled across this gem and now we have a place we'll continue to visit any time we're in town. Noah was super awesome and there to help with any questions you have. Not to mention the setup is insane! And for one small entrance fee you get free play with everything?! Worth it! I usually spend more playing pinball a
what amazing fun! Tempest, Defender, Godzilla pin ball, Alien pin ball, Pac-Man... everything about going to the arcade as a kid with the benefits of beer and unlimited game play!
Great place! A must visit if you're in Boise and a favorite spot with locals. There's always something fun going on and lots of great music too. Highly recommend!
Realms Arcade is not your average arcade; it's a gaming haven that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the customer service stole the show. The staff's passion for gaming and visual culture was immediately obvious. Realms creates a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home, but also took me to an entirely new universe. What sets this place apart is its careful curation of unique pieces from a multitude of cultural "realms". The neon-lit decor and classic arcade cabinets ev
I enjoy this place every time I come. Everything is in operating condition. The food was on short supply on this occasion however
Great games, great music, great people! This place rules - it has everything you could want from an arcade/venue: beer, hot dogs, pizza, rock n' roll, arcade games - it has it all!
One of my favorite places in boise. Provides a great atmosphere for adults as well as kids. Also appreciate the drink selection and game console options.
Went with a small group of about 15 and had no idea how awesome this place was. Really nice not to have to worry about how much the per game cost is as it's unlimited gaming with a very reasonable entrance fee. Classic arcade games, tons of pinball, DDR, and even consoles set up at multiple different lounges to enjoy with great customer service on top of it!
Ive seen a few bands play here. The owner is very nice, great people. Tons of games to play at a wide variety. Great place to hangout!
Amazing arcade, absolutely fantastic pinball selection and well maintained games. The staff are all very courteous and friendly. Stoked about being able to learn the Foo Fighter Pin without having to dump tons of quarters into the machine. :) I will definitely be back!
Awesome stage for live music! Sneaky surprising good venue. Cool spot, cool vibes. I didn't see any NBA Jam arcade tho.. could be there, but I didn't see it. Needs that for sure. NFL Blitz, too.
This place is awesome! It has some of the top pinball machines available as well as a good variety of other types of games including Mrs Pac-Man. It's a $10 cover charge at the door and the games are free play. Drink options are plenty, including alcoholic and non alcoholic options which is nice, and food is also available. This place is family owned and is open to all ages which is the type of arcade Boise needs. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back.
Great place for hanging out. Amazing collection of all the old pinball machines, plus all the other things they have going on. Fun time - def worth a visit.
This place is great! I am posting this a week after they opened and so far it's really cool! You can tell they are still getting some of the details figured out, but overall, it was a great experience. The only reason I give four stars is because the location is a little weird. It's a ways out from DT Boise and there is not really anything to do around that location except for the arcade. Location aside, they had some really unique games that I had not seen anywhere else. They also have a bar with unique be
Had an absolute blast here, and the price is amazing for how much it has. Staff is great, and everyone who comes in are just fun to be around. If you're looking to kill time and have fun, definitely swing in for some games, drinks and friendly faces
They have a good selection of Japanese games. The only problem I had was there wasn't always someone at the bar to ask for drinks. They also had vegan dogs on the menu (BIG THANKS) but they were not available when I visited. They need to make more so that they can accommodate the increasing numbers of vegans/vegetarians in the area.
Places like this are why I love Idaho. This arcade brings the community together through games, karaoke, food/drinks, and concerts. The thing I love about it is you just pay a $10 cover and can play unlimited games. I went to an arcade in Portland and each game was $1 plus a $2 cover. The family behind this put their heart into it, and you can tell!
This is NOT a safe place to let your kids spend time!! Bad crowd !! NOT friendly to neighbors and constantly causing drama. I've been in the place and not very professional as a food service!! They seem to like bullying others they decide not to like. Becarfull especially on weekends can be scary Seen.
realms is my favorite place to go for shows, drinks, and community. Todd and Tanner have really cultivated an amazing place for so many people. so so so much love to realms <3
Realms is an all-ages arcade and lounge in Boise, Idaho. It has a unique "free-play model" where you pay a $15 admission fee and then all games are free to play. There's no need for cards, quarters, or tokens. Realms has a bar with eight taps, including local breweries. The menu includes German sausages, egg rolls, soft pretzels, and vegan options. Realms has a 3.5 star rating out of 5 from 3 reviews on Yelp. Some say the arcade games are smaller, but the space for console games is closer to a large screen.
This place is amazing! So glad they opened! We were fortunate enough to meet the owners who were all very hospitable, knowledgeable and engaging. All the games were in great working order, the establishment was very clean and comfortable and the drinks were well priced! Looking forward to many more evenings spent here and watching some great shows. So Excited!!!!!
I have had the pleasure of partying, playing great old school games and playing shows at Realms; It's a very cool, very unique place with nice owners and an amazing staff!
I really want to like Realms, but after the second time there I found that most of the retro arcade games were partially or completely out of order. It's hard to enjoy a video game when the buttons or joystick don't work or work only intermittently. This could be an awesome arcade, but they really need to maintain the games better. Update (replying to owner question): It's hard to remember all of the games that were faulty - most were - but here are the ones I remember. - Joust: Player 1 joystick failing,
This will absolutely be my new hangout spot. Great drinks, amazing game options, and super cheap fun. $10 fee for unlimited games is way less than I would be spending at an arcade! So excited to have a perfect hangout spot in Boise!!
Best barcade/venue of its kind in the Treasure Valley. Definitely in contention for one of the best venues in Boise. They even have solid vegan options for drinks and food. My biggest criticism is that they need to stock up better on the vegan hot dogs as they have ran out the last couple times I have been there.
What a wonderful place. I make a point to visit Realms whenever I come back to Boise. Realms offers a variety of well maintained arcade games at an unbelievable value.
I was a huge fan of grinkers before covid killed it. I'm a huge pinball fanatic and this place scratches that itch I have for pinball. There are also quite a few classic retro arcade games as well as some Japanese rhythm games that are worth trying. Also Dance Dance revolution as well as some old school consoles to play on. Mix all that with good beer and great staff and this place becomes a weekly visit for me. Definitely worth checking out!
Brought the wife and kids here for a game night out. They have a selection of older consoles (NES, SNES, N64, etc.), but they are locked in boxes. It's a pain to switch games and try something else. as you have to go find staff to unlock the box and switch the game for you. Their selection of cabinet games is pretty good. They have a wall of pinball games and then 3-4 rows of about 6-8 cabinets. They also have some obscure rhythm games and a dance dance revolution floor set off to the side. My biggest grip
Fun, comfortable place to indulge my pinball addiction. They have 4/5 of my favorite games of all time, free to play and always in great condition The owner is a great guy who seems to really care about building communities.
Great spot for live music and an awesome selection of retro games. Clean and friendly for all ages. Good none alcoholic drink selection.
I love this awesome new arcade! Just what downtown Boise needed. Only $10 entry fee to play all the games for free for as long as I wanted. Hands down the best most affordable entertainment around. Thank you realms! I am a regular. ??????
Hours of fun that we felt a little naughty/guilty playing non-stop. All the staff were friendly, helpful and easy going, N I C E. Family friendly too. If you have time to kill playing retro arcade games, video games, and you enjoy snacking and drinking while doing it this is where you want to be.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
