Putterz

Putterz

Reviews Summary

Putterz offers a mixed experience with mini-golf, batting cages, and arcade games. Many praise the friendly staff, reasonable prices, and fun atmosphere, especially for families. However, numerous reviews highlight poor maintenance, construction issues, broken equipment, and overgrown weeds, with some calling it unsafe or overpriced. While some appreciate renovations and new ownership, others feel the quality has declined. The batting cages and arcade often receive criticism for being outdated or non-functional. Overall, it’s a decent spot for casual fun but falls short in upkeep and value for some visitors.

Truly a fall from grace. This is but the empty shell of a once thriving mini golf course. The cost of entry at the time of writing this review is $12 per person, and then $8 extra for replays. Maybe this price would have been justified if the attraction was not in such a sorry state of affairs. Currently you can find garbage littered throughout. On their air conditioning unit you can find shards of broken glass. Their lights are gutted, wires hanging exposed. Objects along the course are fixed to the ground

This is a fun place to go for an outdoor family activity. We played mini golf and used the batting cages. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The course was well maintained. It seemed like all of the carpet was new. My only criticism was that the seams were not glued down, so it was bumpy in those places.

Putterz is a nice place. It is well run and the owner is a nice guy. It is fairly good quality and the arcade is always worth a play as well. The rates are a little expensive for golf but overall I have always enjoyed playing here.

I grew up with Putt Putt. I was there in the 70?s when they opened each course. Many great times were had there but it has fallen hard from its original glory. As previous reviews have stated it is poorly maintained (if at all) with many visible hazards AND expensive for what you are receiving. I would look elsewhere for my next round of miniature golf.

Worst Golf Course EVER!!! $12 to golf at a dirty broken down - overgrown course. Don't waste your money

Evertime I go it's really nice the people are really nice there batting cages, mini golf and go cards I have a blast going there it ment for Al ages considering I'm 13 I think it's a pretty cool place

What a dump! This place was a complete mess (July 2020) Carpet everywhere. Broken lanes. Unsafe metal bolts sticking out of the concrete all over! Very dangerous for kids. will never come back.

This mini golf course had his best years probably 20 years ago. They charge you 15 dollars per person but the course is partially broken and not clean. For that price I expect at least that they pretend keeping it in shape and clean. Overall not entertaining and dirty.

Just spent Mother's Day at Putterz in Ypsilanti. Had fun, but very disappointed in the course. New owner is not taking care of the place. Very run down, overgrown with weeds, dirty, and still renovating the inside. Prices were very high as well for what you get. Grew up going here in the 70's until we opened PuttNGlow on Jackson Rd. As a previous business owner, I would take an interest in all the negative reviews and try to do small steps in improving the place.

If I could give this a zero, I would. It took about 15 minutes for us to play 18 holes. The course is littered with leaves, rundown, rusty. I wish I would have looked at the reviews first. I'm not sure if this is a front for a money laundering business because it was empty and when we told the guy working we were here to play putt putt, he didn't know what it was. The place is called PUTTERZ. I wish I could get a refund.

ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE FOR KIDS. There is debris, poison ivy all over, putt putt courses are coming apart with exposed nails, hanging wires, there used to be a water feature that is falling apart ? it's a complete mess and shell of its former glory. I was appalled. DO NOT GO HERE.

The course needs a lot of work - the place is quite run down, the lights don't go on when it gets dark, and the green is pushed up on some holes. Lots of bugs. $12 is overpriced. You pay this much at Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach and get very nice courses. Added a star because we played pretty late and the girl working the desk was nice.

My 7 year old son and I had a terrific experience at Putterz! We were treated with a kindness that is uncommon these days, and the course was a blast. We will be repeat customers and are excited for the completion of the current renovation work.

New owner so new renovations with good intentions to make it better but still getting charged full price when you have to skip about 5 out of 18 holes because of construction seems silly. Overall if you are looking for a fun game of putt-putt or batting cages this place isn't bad. When renovations are done I bet it will be a really nice place!

Putterz is a blast and has excellent pricing for something to do. The inside of the building is going through renovations, but the area looks great. There are three different courses you can play, each one costing $10. (We paid $20 for 2 courses, 2 people.) I highly recommend Putterz for a family/friend event. The only complaint I have is that some of the turf has a buildup on leaves, if those were cleaned up a little more regularly then it would be perfect. Overall 5/5 besides that extremely minor complain

Look, if you want to hit balls in a batting cage you are 100% out of luck here. Even last year & year before a couple of them were working but this year all the machines have been broken all summer. Super disappointing. I have no comment on the minigolf as I've never played it here. I mean they did put in new turf a couple years ago but other than that clearly zero maintenance has been done.

Very disappointing experience. This course needs so much work (which has been stated in multiple reviews that the owners obviously don't read). If you want to charge premium prices, you need to offer a premium course. The ?greens? were in horrible shape, debris and litter was all over the course, no working water features, and minimal obstacles. We will not be returning.

About half of the arcade games are either for small children, older than me (27), or are simply out of order. But the mini golf courses are still fun, along with the batting cages. Haven't tried their food though, so you'll have to see for yourself.

Awesome locally owned place. Really kind owners and a great way to spend an afternoon without breaking the bank. They also have an arcade and batting cages which might not be obvious from the name of the place. Special pricing on Tuesday! If you buy three rounds (they have three different courses) but only play one or two courses you can come back any day in the season to use the rest. Awesome deal!

First time here, and it sounds like the new owners are making some good improvements based on what I've been told. I thought the course was too repetitive, felt like I was doing the same hole over and over. Each hole is flat and they throw a random 4x4 in the course to hit around as the obstacle. For kids, can be fun. For teenagers and adults, very bland. Batting cages looked fun. Will have to try those eventually.

Neat spot to spend couple of hours. Great service, parking available. Standard mini golf location with baseball swing. 4 stars for the lake of creativity in some of the holes. Would recommend a visit for kids or a date night.

It's not the fanciest mini golf place, but it's one of my favorites. The owners are super nice and they have really good prices, especially if you buy multiple games. Only $10 for 3 games and you can use them for separate visits within a 4 month time frame.

We had a good time. But the place is still in need of improvement. Several of the lights weren't working so the course was dark. The music was very weird and loud. There were overgrown weeds everywhere. They're working on it. Hopefully, it will improve.

It has the potential to be a really nice facility. Appear to be going through renovation. Turf was dirty, plants overgrown and weedy, painted features need replaced. With some work it could be nice.

Had a nice time with the family... wasn't aware the inside was under construction... our daughter had to use the restroom... but they didn't have one available at the time, we had to leave and go to Taco Bell down the road and then come back...putt putt was good, well managed and staff was friendly. Prices good. Enjoyed the afternoon here.

Super cool place! The putt-putt golf courses were fun and interesting. There are three different courses that you can choose from that are all of varying levels of difficulty. The landscaping is also very nice and well-kept. I've never used the batting cages, but they appear to work just fine. Putterz is a lot of fun! I recommend it to all my friends in the area.

I would expect that a mini-golf charging $12 per adult would be better maintained and cleaned. Holes were littered with leaves/debris from the landscaping. How hard is it to invest in a vacuum and get one of the guys hanging around in the clubhouse to clean things up. also be prepared for the hard sell to buy multiple rounds for the "discount".

Really good prices on mini golf at this time of year sweeten an already fun treat. The game room is lackluster, but you shouldn't go for the game room. The batting cages were well in use and worked well while I was there.

I've been mini golfing here for years. It's not the most amazing course ever but they have a lot of courses and the staff is always really friendly. Arcade is decent too if you're into that. Price is pretty good if you get 3 rounds in advance.

yeah, I landed a couple hole in one's. this place is alright. I'd say it's a pretty fun place, the value to dollar ratio is crazy good in customers favor. 10 dollar gets you 54 holes to play from their 3 courses. easy, medium, or hard courses with an average of 2 par per hole. I guess there are other things here like arcade or batting cages but who cares. this place is about mini golf. and giant fake elephants.

Batting cages working. I used #4 and they said that the rest were working as well. Great staff, took care of me while I was there. They have fast and slow pitch for both baseball and softball.

Standard Putt putt course. They are doin renovation but there are no signs on where to go or enter. After getting all our items together we we informed that the are unable to take cash. Its venmo or cash >.> to top it off the courses need to be cleaned. I know its outside but some basic maintenance is always necessary. We were greeted by a dead bird while putting away. No pics out of respect for the bird. Won't be coming back. This place used to be some much better.....

it sad this is the only mini golf course in the Ann Arbor area. it's over priced at $12 per player per course. there are three courses to choose from. The place is pretty run down. It'd be worth $12 if only there was landscaping and running water fountains. Alas, the only landscaping is weeds.

Expensive and poorly maintained. For my family of five it was $60 to play a round of mini golf. Looks like it used to be really nice but it is in complete disrepair.

Batting cage and putt putt golf. Clean and fun reasonable price. Close to Eastern Michigan and U of M. Indoor games don't work well. Many old games. Need new games. But kids had fun. Batting cages if it rains will not work, call before you go.

This is a cute place for puttputt. There are three courses you can choose from or play all three. The courses were not too complicated. We also did the batting cages! The lady at the counter was always super nice and helpful answering our questions since it was our first time !

Fun little place. Go with family or a significant other for some inexpensive fun. Don't expect a LOT out of it, but there will be a lot of fun for what you pay. I've gone with my wife for 3 rounds of minigolf and some arcade games. The holes are relatively simple without much variation, but there are some fun holes. They have 3 courses for 3 different levels which is nice, but the skill is capped at a relatively low level (par is 2 for all, if that gives you some context). It is $20 for 3 rounds and you do

This place is in rough shape right now. I understand they're going through a renovation, but it was kind of shocking. The bathroom situation (stepping over frayed wires, no soap, toilet leaking water onto the floor) was rough as are the holes themselves.

Owners do not wear masks in or out of there building. Positive: Nice batting cages, albeit pricey. Cons: Maskless staff, building right now is gutted, so no arcade or food. Minimal services, putting greens are less than industrial grade field turf. Parking lot is cratered.

Good date spot, 7 dollars for one game one person??? That's a little overpriced, they have an arcade inside which is kinda fun and my friends dig the batting cages. I think Tuesday or Wednesday is all you can play day

New Owners have decided to let this place deterioate. Batting cages were not in service, arcade has been "under renovation" for three years.

The kids and i had a great time!!!!

This place looks like something you'd encounter in a Fallout video game. The course appeared to be maintained to the absolute minimum necessary.

Enjoyed all three courses. The new owners are doing a great job restoring this place to its former glory. Very friendly and energetic! Will be back for more fun very soon!

It was nice to get out, my son had been begging to play mini golf. Maybe its lack of funds but they havent really put anything into the place since I was a kid. And the golf area is poorly kept...just dried up ditches that were once filled with water.

Run down and the property looks abandoned. What a shame considering how this place used to look like and operate under the previous owners. I would definitely not waste my money coming back here again.

This place has gone downhill. It was around $50 for a family of 4 to play 18 holes. There were overgrown weeds everywhere, the water features were broken and filled with green putrid water that made extra mosquitos for guests, the putters were sticky and gross and it just wasn't worth more than $5 or $6 per game, not $15. Sad :(

We were shocked, upon reopening, to see that there is new ownership/management. They were very kind, polite and professional, however, they made a few disappointing changes, one of which will keep me away permanently. 1- They removed the savers club card. This was our main draw. Our whole family does batting practice multiple days a week here and a reward club, for the amount of money we spent there, was what kept us coming back. 2- It is now cash only. In a world with COVID and everyone is going to credit

Outdated arcade and games.. The prizes for tickets are Wack at best. This place needs a major overhaul

3 putt putt courses and batting cages makes this a fun place for the whole family. The colour and paint are a bit faded, but the putting surfaces are very smooth and the courses are fun. Great deals on multiple rounds, too!

New owners are great. They seem to care a lot about the community and were very helpful. My kids had a great time at the batting cages like always.

Not quite sure what they are spending their money on. The batting cages are almost never operational. And you call ahead and they say yep they are running and you show up and oops sorry they just broke down. Problem is they are the only outside batting cage in town...need to get some competition or get you act together.

Putterz is always such a fun family environment and very affordable. There are 3 golf courses to choose from, all of which are very fun, and the golf course is very well maintained and scenic from the waterfalls to the life size replica of giraffe and elephant and even alligators to a windmill you can putt your ball through on the final hole! They also have batting cages and a fun retro gameroom with some really cool games and ticket redemption games out there and all at a reasonable price. I recommend play

Great place, great customer service, great time, good break from the craziness of life, and had a blast, HIGHLY recommended for ppl of all ages, $20= 2-18 hole courses for 2 ppl, and if for whatever reason you can't or don't want to golf all of them today? You can get a raincheck, all around great place, great day!!

Fun, quirky little place. Cool mini golf. 3 different 18-hole courses of different difficulties. Signs are up claiming they'll be back in Spring 2017; hopefully it's true. (Owner is retiring and selling the business.)

Travel back to yesteryear when people actually played outside and play an 18 hole round of Putt Putt challenge with your friends and family on any of the 3 available courses! Score a hole in one when your ball color is lit and get a discount pass and an orange ball to play through the rest of the game. Owner is very nice and will explain Al the options. Best value is the 10 game pass. Batting cages, indoor video games and birthday party packages also available.

Cute little golf course. It's pretty worn down, but still a lot of fun. Whenever my coworkers and I want to play putput, we will probably come here. It's got a little arcade inside. You can earn tickets with some of the games and win prizes. They also have a couple food options. They have batting cages, but I have never used those. It looks a little run down and some of it looks a little dirty, but It's a neat place to go out for fun. Just wash your hands afterwards.

Nice, clean putt putt place that is very kid friendly (all ages). They have batting cages and are remodelling the inside. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Subpar courses with Myrtle Beach prices! The photos on their website seem to be from years ago. Water features were non functioning. The turf was littered with pine needles and sometimes rippled. Most of the features needed to be painted. Overall neglect!

Its a average golf course currently going through lots of construction so there's a lot of stuff shut down temporarily but it looks like they're going to have that place looking great soon that's the only reason it's four stars for now.

Love Putterz! The mini golf courses are varied and fun, the arcade is fantastic, and the batting cages round out a great time. Very low prices for all activities!

Love this place. There are three miniature golf courses on the property, plus an eatery that serves the real Nathan hotdogs (and they are delicious) and other games. The golf courses are according to difficulty. The owner is quite the gardener and the courses are intermingled with flowering plants and trees of all types. It is really lovely. Additionally, the courses are spotted with benches where one can rest in the shade. The courses include large animals - an elephant and a giraffe - and the usual

Very sketchy. Wouldn't accept card. Or big bills. Would only take venmo or "small bills". Place looks very run down and not nice. Wouldn't recommend.

Had a fun time with my son, the service is great, very helpful people work here. I wish the course would be a little less dirty from all the leafs of the trees but other than that it was a good experience

needs lots of work. repairs and fresh coat of paint. $12 per person seems excessive to me. most places are $7 or $8

Very friendly and good family fun! Good prices and had a course which was mostly shaded on a really warm day! Definitely will be back!

Only mini golf local to Ann Arbor-Ypsi. 3 x 18 holes, all fairly short but enough variety and challenge to keep it interesting. And a game arcade inside.

The only reason I gave one star is because it wouldn't let me give them no stars!! My wife and kids went there this afternoon and the guy behind the counter was absolutely rude. And then to follow her out to the parking lot telling her to go to another place with my four kids right there. We will never go there again!! Horrible place!!!

This was a great place when I was a kid. The arcade games now look so outdated and half are broken. The course is so run down and outdated/bland. My experience today ruined a good childhood memory

The place is very unkept broken glass and debris everywhere. NO WORKING REST ROOMS! THEY DONT SAY OR HAVE IT POSTED ANYWHERE. THEY SHOULD CLOSE FIX RESTROOMS AND CLEAN UP THE MESS! WE NOT TAKE THE FAMILY THERE EVER AGAIN !

We ended up having to leave early, and the guy offered us free refreshments since we were only able to play half the course. Nicest thing anyone's ever done for us at an establishment like this!

We had a nice time here. They need to do some basic maintenance on the courses. The building is being renovated summer 2022.

Very bad . Batting cages not working and highly overpriced putt putt golf didn't take cards. Had to Apple Pay text to a gentleman to play . Very odd experience

Just had our daughter's birthday there and everybody loved it. They took care of everything and the staff and owners are so kind. We truly loved it!

We went late afternoon, there weren't many kids at that time. Service was fast, food was acceptable, could do with a wider selection of arcade machines.

This place is one of the funnest places Ypsilanti/Ann arbor has to offer! My kids love this place! We enjoyed ourselves , we will be back soon!

I love putterz. They have a fun deal on holes-in-one on their mini golf courses and my favorite arcade game ever. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I don't recommend using the bathroom here. You gotta wait for someone to service you. Besides that the greens are new. The clubs are clean. The people friendly.

Don't go expecting the best constructed or maintained mini-golfing in the world, but pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices, and not crowded.

I would not waste my money here again. I remember this place very different, it was an absolute mess. Several holes blocked, broken, not in play, etc. You could not pay me to return here.

Saturday morning at 11:45am not open. Online it says it's open. Left a voicemail. Ridiculous. Promised my granddaughter all week to bring her.

Really great putt putt golf. 3, 18 hole courses with frequent hole in one contests to win free or discounted games. The arcade is something special DDR MACHINE! I wish I could give a 6th star just because of that.

Fun place to take a family, or have a date night. Prices are very reasonable, the employees working the putt putt golf window were fun and helpful.

This place is not worth the money they charge , the course is all beat up and obviously don't clean them , there are leaves and twigs all over the green argh , inside has been under construction for awhile now so who ever took this over needs to do a lot of work ! There's potential?.

Awesome batting cages that work great with extremely accommodating and friendly staff - will be "hitting" there more often this summer!

It's an ok golf place. I felt like it needs some modernization and a fresh coat of paint. But we had fun.

I got a hole-in-one which was pretty epic. Idk why they have a batting cage though, like, who goes to a place called Putterz to swing a baseball for half and hour? Not me.

Mini golfing is under construction and not worth paying $10/person to go to. The holes are basically all the same too. Find somewhere else to go if you can!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
