Customer Reviews

I was very happy to find this place. Very good selection of pinball and arcades. Clean place. Very good ambiance.

Pinballs were all clean and ready to play. With a mix of old, new, and new remakes. Sterns all had insider connected. Variety of old and new arcade machines, a couple were down for service. Has token vending machines, but can bring your own quarters too.

So many fun old school fun arcades. Alot of core memories were unlocked here. I got my 14 year daughter wanting me to open something like this in California. Great environment with lots of Pinball machines and nice bar to boot. Very clean and very fun.

I'm not from the area, and I was expecting like a small Dave & Busters type thing. But my god, this place was so much better. The atmosphere was so chill and the older arcade games were so much fun to play. The bartender made video game themed drinks and I was absolutely hooked on the Kirby. Best barcade I've ever been to!

Excellent upkeep on their machines. I saw (and played) a couple new additions today - Dungeons and Dragons and James Bond 007 You only live twice.

Great visit..birthday party for my year old granddaughter. Patio area was great and kids had fun with arcade. Clean and lots of space. Great staff!

We came to a special Button Bash Press Start Yelp Elite Event to experience this cool ?? business. It was so fun seeing all the guests dressed up in their Christmas attire playing all the coolest video and arcade games. Thank you to Owner John for your hospitality and clean, upscale arcade for grownups to be kids again. Loved the Stranger Things pinball and Alien Attack pinball machines. This is a great place to bring friends, play games, have a drink and just have fun. Thank you to Clucker?s for the delic

A real fun place to go visit. Lots of video games and pinball machines. They also have a pool table. The bar is ok which is fine because we went to mostly play the games. It gets real busy in the evenings, we went before it got crowded. They have some drinks themed after electronic and video game things, I had one called "Raspberry Pi" I'll definitely go back if I ever somehow visit Reno again. Bring cash or use your bank card at the ATM inside by the change machine. They have a good range of old to new vi

Magnificent place to go play and have good nostalgic times. They have lots of vintage video games at 25 cents per game and pinball at 50 cents per game. I played some of my favorites for over 2 hours on just $5. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. They have a full bar and a great chicken place right for food there. Plenty of space to lounge and laugh. I've been here twice and loved it both times. I'll definitely be back. ??

PINBALL PINBALL PINBALL! I love the new location. A couple dozen of the best-playing pinball machines in northern Nevada. Definitely worth a stop when you're in town. There's a chicken spot attached, and a BBQ place right next door so make a Saturday of it! Bring the kids, the bar is separate!

If you visit Reno, don't leave this off your 'must stop' list. They have a great mix of old and new games including pinball machines. It's close to other great spots in midtown so make sure you don't miss it.

I was excited because I miss Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk....?? Asteroids is my juice...no Asteroids!! I looked around for one of those arcade games that has like 150 games in one...I almost bought one some time ago... nope...if you get change it's in the form of tokens and they post that on the machine...There was some tournament going on so no pinball to play....I expected a different experience but that's on me and being spoiled in Santa Cruz....

Woooow. It was incredible. I felt like back in my days of arcades. Arcade and beer, what else can you ask for. It was awesome playing Tron and Star Wars. I didn't try the food but a Barbecue place is next door, excellent location. I had great time!!! Thank you.

This place is beyond cool Awesome collection of games and friendly vibe to go along with it. Had a chance to meet the owner and it's definitely here to stay in Reno. We will be back. Thanks and happy new year 2025!!

Overall: B+ Layout & decor: ???????? Cleanliness: ?????????? Customer service: ???????? Bathroom: ?????????? Review: this place is actually pretty cool!! Didn't expect to have so much fun here but it took me back to my adolescent years. Plenty of pinball machines too. They have a pinball tournament each month I think. Anyways, they have a bar & there's food next door but not the best. I do plan on coming back here tho!!

I went there on a Saturday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw an old school 1970s pinball machine. That was awesome. I was slightly disappointed at the mix of video games, but there is a good selection. And they are looked after and work. It's a nice touch that there is the bar and you can have a drink while playing. The food from Cluckers was good. The bar service was good and the bartender was great.

Great spot with a good collection of classic arcade games and some sweet pins. All games are well maintained and all arcades have original style CRT's and the control panels all have the proper controls. Recommend to grab some drinks and play some cool games. ??

lots of cool retro games that only take a quarter to play. i?ve only tried their espresso martini, but it was so good and just the right amount of sweet and bitter. i have only been here once, but i hope i can round up some friends to play here some more! definitely coming back

Very cool laid back place.... they have drinks named after there games. If u buy one of there $10 dollar drinks they give u back $2 in quarters for u to play with. I originally order the Manhattan which was the donkey Kong but I do love how the bartender talked me out of it and suggested a better drink he even let me taste it b4 I purchased to see if I will like. I also ordered the Margearita (margarita) and Mariotini (martini). I will def come back n finish playing all the games and try all there drinks.

If you like pinball and 80?s and 90?s video games, then this is an amazing place to go. Grab a drink and hang out with friends (which is what I saw many people doing) or go solo have a drink and enjoy the evening. They have a mix of really fun pinball machines, new and old school. They also have classic video games like Frogger, Tetris, Rampage, The Simpson?s, and many more.

Very older Arcade, the older games from the period of the 80s are a plus. But still noisy and an attached restaurant with a window offers limited fare.

This place is one of the best spots in Reno to kill time and have a blast not at the cost of your wallet!

Love this place! Great vintage arcade selection and amazing drinks! Most of the cabinets are just a quarter! Although, over our last few visits, I've noticed a couple of my favorite arcade cabinets disappearing, and most of them not getting replaced... Would love to see some more classics return to this place!

Really cool place that looks like a retro arcade. Coin operated games, a pool table, a bar and outside area with Cornhole. The first time I went I was very surprised at how cool the place was.

I've enjoyed this place since their original location. You can't go wrong coming here. The drinks are the best I've had in town as well.

This is the barcade that started the pinball craze in Reno/Sparks. Tournaments every Tuesday and on some weekends! Hosted the State pinball championships last year. Amazing drinks, great theme, very very inexpensive entertainment for adults in the evening and kids during the daytime. Check this place out. You won't regret it!

I've came here a few times and it's really fun. Especially if you like classic arcade games. The drinks here are really good and the VR game is fun. I'd come here all the time if I could. Bartender is super nice and friendly too

Great selection of classic arcade games and a few new ones. The pinball machines are in great condition! The employees there are very nice! They added a back room with a pool table and have paired with pizzava. Free delivery and $2.00 in tokens if you order food from pizzava to press start!

Great games, great drinks, great people, great atmosphere. I'm happy to call myself a (somewhat) regular. Actually got past Hole 10 on the Ice Cold Beer game for once, only to find out that there's some dude with an absurd high score that I still need to beat. Practice practice practice. Only giving it 4/5 because they nixed my Big Buck Hunter game. Hopefully it's temporary.

10 stars if I could!! Shout-out to the staff here for being the absolute best hosts and mixing up some fire drinks! Thank you for not having the giant Jenga out, as we would have made a total mess of things! ?? Absolutely beautiful facility, well loved and cared for pinball machines in pristine condition, and an epic outdoor patio area with giant connect four and comfy seating! You all rock ?????? we had Lumpia, pizza, cotton candy, And loads of FUN! ??

Celebrate my 33rd and it was my first time here at Press Start. Great cocktails!!! Very impressed with the drink menu and bar options. Had a blast with the table Mario kart and hoops! Will be back, do recommend!

Fantastic place to let your inner child out as an adult! Absolutely love coming here and playing many pinball games, arcade games, pool, or even just chill on the patio and enjoy a cold beer with great conversations.

Nice hang out place for all ages

Amazing all around. Classic games that brought me back. Great drink selection.

If you miss pinball and arcade games, this place allows you to have a blast from the past! Plenty of both, a bar and 1 pool table. Although on the smaller side, I was able to enjoy the place fully with beer at hand and nestolgia. I recommend visiting on times where it would be not so busy(mon-thurs), it can be packed on the weekend.

Just like the arcade you remember from your youth, but now with booze. Great bartenders, outdoor patio, solid lineup of games and pins old and new. The place in Reno to make new rivals or friends, the choice is yours.

Clean and well-maintained pinball barcade with 50? games, and friendly staff. I've played at the best pinball bars in San Francisco, Portland, and New York City - this is my favorite. It might also secretly be the best cocktail bar in Nevada. Highly recommended!

Went here for a little date night, and we had a great time. The kitchen wasn't open, so we didn't get to try the food. It was a good time overall

This is a really fun arcade/bar. They have so many old school arcade games, pinball machines plus a pool table. Nice smoking patio & a well stocked bar. The workers were all super nice & helpful, not only with the drinks but also if you have an issue with a game. Definitely will be going back whenever I'm in Reno.

The "bar" to which all local barcades should meet. Fair pricing on all of the games - pinball machines are certainly something you have to stay on top of and the field of play always looks great on their machines. If you point out a problem the staff are attentive and ownership obv cares. The arcade and console options are a nice rotating mix that keeps things feeling fresh. Actual bar is nice as well, the themed drink menus are fun to try but you can always fall back on draught or bottled beer along with

This is a great barcade! Good selection of games and they keep up on them. Great pinball games to boot. They even run a tournament on Tuesdays and another on 1 Saturday a month. Selection of spirits is what you would expect. There is a pool table, bubble hockey, 2 player hoops game, air hockey and all the titles you would want from the good times of arcades. They do allow you to bring your kids until a certain time (7pm) so that is great for an early family outing. Place is done up right and has a place

The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because of the atrocious markup on some of their alcoholic beverages. The staff is top notch and friendly. You're dealing with well trained professionals and it shows. The atmosphere is clearly aimed at the gentrified hipster demographic. That's not a bad thing if you're into it. It's a huge improvement over rundown arcades with a rough crowd. WARNING: Beware of sticker shock depending on what drinks you order. A small group could easily run up a three

This place seems to be very well kept. The bar was pretty clean and the arcade games were pretty clean as well. No complaints there. The prices of the beers seem to be a little over-inflated, but I guess that's how they make a good chunk of their money. Most of the games were 25 cents, so you can definitely relive some of your childhood fun for a reasonable price. Pretty good spot for a super casual date.

One of the best bars in Reno! The staff are always friendly, the drinks are good, and the arcade area has a wide variety of games

This place is so much fun! They have an ATM machine and a coin exchange machine that makes playing so easy. Most of the games are 25 to 50 cents. The pool table and bar are separated from the arcade, so it still allows the arcade to be family friendly. Most if not all of the arcade games have a drink holder that makes playing and drinking easy.

The pinball machines are in such great condition and the staff there are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend going to a pinball tournament when they are hosting them. Great people and a fun time.

First time at press start today and the owner is incredible. Amazing selection at the bar, pizza slices and snacks. I didn't know I had a pinball addiction until I was driving home and already wanted to go back.

Great new addition to Reno, stocked with some favorites from the past and a couple of the newer games as well. Great local beer selection, friendly staff. Parking can be a little tricky, but it's worth the trouble. 18 pins.

It's essentially an arcade that service alcohol. What more can you ask for. They bar tenders are very nice and very skilled. The games that are in the place are well maintained and they have a large assortment, including tons of different pinball machines. Several of them are even free to play. They have a pool table and a few pizza places even deliver there. Great place to hang out.

Super fun little spot for drinks and arcade games. The staff was really friendly and good at keeping the place clean. I came here with my wife and some friends for one of their 30th birthdays, and we had a blast. It seems to be pretty busy when I have been there, but that's to be expected of a unique spot like this. 21 and up only (sorry kiddos), but the games here don't appeal to younger kids anyways. All old school arcade games and pinball machines. We even picked up some high scores!

Retro gaming done right and amazing selection of pinball! Out of curiosity I checked the top list of pinball games and they have almost every one. Plus they are in amazing condition and work perfectly. Super atmosphere and they have the most amazing bartenders on staff. Sweet jukebox with the widest selection of songs I have seen, a nice plus. I go atleast once a week. Perfect spot to go to solo, with friends, or even a date.

Old school arcade games, and a bar. Nobody under 21 allowed after 7pm. I've lost a lot of time here, lol. If you come in b 4 the university students get there around 5, its pretty empty. Always friendly staff, some of the games are hard 2 find and were when they were new too. These guys are true collectors of games. Plus there is a patio outback with giant jenga and cornhole, not to mention an ordering window inside for the chicken joint next door.

I attended a private event here recently but meandered in a few times over the summer. It's a really fun spot. The atmosphere is really chill and the flow of the floorspace is cool too. Meaning, you enter into the barcade and as you walk toward the back, there's a door leading to the bar area where it's a bar/lounge setting with N64 games available to play for free. This area has a pool table too and there's an outdoor/backyard type space with a fire pit, picnic tables, large size Jenga, Cornhole.. There'

The best place to hang with friends. They just expanded the bar and put more pinball machines in, and the machines are all well maintained. You can bring in your own food and the bar service is fantastic. Everyone is super nice and eager to make sure you and your party have the best time possible. Everyone we take there becomes a regular!

Went with 7 other people for my husband's 50th birthday...seriously our BEST time in Reno. Great atmosphere, great bartenders and awesome quarter games! We All had so much fun there!

I was visiting some friends in Reno and stopped by Press Start and had an amazing time. The bar service was excellent, drinks affordable, and the games fun! There was a large selection of games from pinball, to classics, and some more modern games. The bar also allowed you to bring in other food and had a good deal with a pizza place that delivers to them. If I come back to Reno, then I will be sure to return!

Neat idea for a bar but the nostalgia of old arcade games just did not keep me entertained. The pin ball games are great and had a good time with them but the older arcade games are not that fun. Cool place to hang with friends but very limited sitting area. Drink prices were very reasonable though. Cool experience just got bored fast.

Went here after work at first and kept coming back. Great place for hanging with friends, co workers or even go out for a date! The games and drinks are amazing. ALMOST (emphasis on almost) everything costs one token and if you order drinks that come with tokens you don't have to use the machine provided here. Amazing local representation.

So much fun! And they serve beer too on tap! If you are around your 40s then this is the place to go for fun and childhood memories if you have been in Reno for a long time. Great place to go and hang out with friends and always a great atmosphere!

I would do anything to have them fix Galaga, I've been asking for years, even at their last spot. What would it take monetary wise for you to upgrade that game to have a fire properly and the stick work smoothly? I'll pay it. You would have me in here every night spending $30-$70 on cocktails. When the game works right my heart. ????

Great places to hang out and play some classic video and pinball machines. Bring your friends and have a drink or too

Good unique drink mixes, good prices. Fun place to be. I really like pinball. It's like a smaller version of Coin OP in Sac. I wish they had pizza, and some of the games stole my coins. Otherwise very cool

Pinball! Plenty of tables. Classics to latest. Tournaments with online stats! They also happen to have a playable history of video game cabinets. Even old mechanical games. Full bar and pool table in a separate space. Fenced area in back with tables and cornhole. Everybody has something to do here.

First and foremost, I'm a gamer. So, I will not review that and that is not what makes it automatically 5 stars. I'll share my experience. So, I was actually in town for work, and couldn't drink because I was on call (Full Bar). BUT!! I went to the bar, and asked for a beverage (Coke/Pepsi). When I went to pay, the Bartender said it was on the house. He was being genuinely nice to me and I really appreciate that. I'm big on that kind of stuff. Functionality of games: Every game I used WORKED. I can't tell

Awesome arcade bar. Drinks aren't cheap but the games definitely are. Great selection of games from Mario Kart to pinball, none of them had the dreaded 'out of order' sign taped to them like most arcades. Great selection of liquor and beer.

Bar food and killer arcade all in one place. If you are into pinball this spot has one of the best lineups I've seen in a while.Good solid mix of classic and new games and all we're in excellent working condition. Ill definitely be back .

Super fun place I somehow didn't know about. Some fun games from my childhood and only a quarter to boot! My only beef was that the beat saber game seemed to be broken? There were no instructions on how to use it and no one available to help you. Otherwise a super fun place!

We had a great time. Fun playing .25 old school arcade games

This place is amazing!!! Brought my son here for his 21st birthday. Not only were the games amazing, but the bartenders were awesome! We had a blast. Thank you all so very much for making my son's birthday a night he'll never forget. (Oh, and thanks for the sippy cups. LOL)

If you love playing pinball and 80's arcades, plus the idea of a bar as well, this is the place to go. This is an adult arcade bar, must be 21. Go have fun. I enjoyed playing a few pinball games. Bring your quarters like you did in the 80's!

Everything is great. The food is amazing and so is the service. The games are awesome but harder to beat than climbing Mount Everest naked.

My husband brought me here for a date on Sunday. This place has a bunch of games that I remember from my own childhood. We spent a couple of hours playing pinball, streetfighter 2 , quick draw, Mrs. Pacman and so many more. There is bar here as well. We got a pitcher of Dirty Wookie to go with the good times. Thanks again!

I am so wanting to say My favorite to make me happy w?th love of living... the pinball ?s always ready to h?lp save the day even with only a few quarters to spend. Thank you ??????

What a fun place I have discovered. Loads of pinball machines including my favorite Godzilla and also Rick & Morty. I also found a classic 2 player Tetris and the old Star Wars video game. There is a fantastic craft bar that is technically in a separate room so I am told you can bring kids to the arcade. There is also a window to Cluckers to grab some food.

Everything you could ever love about an old school coin op arcade. Also, they have some real classics, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, NFL Blitz 2000, Ms. PacMan and many more. The games are reasonably priced at .25 to .5 for most. Highest was Rockband at 1$ Great place to hang out and play some good games.

Took my nephew who is a gamer to play some old school video games that I grew up with. Had a blast playing the classics while having cocktails. Would give five stars but the drinks are expensive, strip club prices!

I've never been there before, and it was awesome. Hung out with my brother, sister in law, and my 19 year old son. We will definitely be going back. Didn't eat, just games and beer.

Fun games, relaxed atmosphere, just a couple mechanical issues ruined a few of the games.

They have some decent drinks and have some old school games that were fun to play with friends. Nice and friendly hangout spot.

Hands down best arcade. Cold beer, strong liquor and the best selection/rotation of classic arcades in all of Reno.I have been going regularly and will continue to do so.

One of my favorites all the best games from 80s and 90s,!! They have corn hole and seating in the back!! Along with a pool table!! ??

Great place to kill $10 and some time. We had a couple drinks and a lot of fun playing pinball. Great selection of games!

Super cool vibe here. They have MANY old school games, seating to chat, and cup holders on a lot of the games for your drink! Drink specials were a little on the pricey side, but did come with $2 of tokens.

Vintage and new arcade games with beer, do I need to say more? Yes I do, they just added 27 pinball machines and extended the back to add pool tables as well. Great place for a date or a night out with friends. Bring quarters, a thousand allowances of quarters!

Alcohol and pinball. What's not to like. There is also an assortment of older arcade games to choose from. Bar staff are cool and make some tasty drinks. The taps rotate meaning the same beer may not be there next time you go. They have some stouts and porters in bottles that I like as I'm not an IPA person. The margaritas are good as are the mojitos. Old fashioneds are hit or miss depending on who's behind the bar. Last Sunday of the month until 6pm is open to all ages.

A great place to play pinball and meet with friends! The drinks are good too! The outdoor area is nice has well.

A blast from the past! Not only do you need to be 21 to enter, the games are mostly classics that I haven't played in years. Had so much fun especially when the games take 1 or 2 quarters. This is much better than the newer arcades where each play is at least $1 or more.

Great drinks, great games, great staff! I always enjoy my stay when I hang at Press start. My only gripes: they need a repair tech for "Ice cold beer" because its too good to ever be broken! I Need BUST-A-MOVE! Ya'll Rock! Cheers!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
