Prairie Fun Land

Prairie Fun Land

Reviews Summary

Overall, reviews are positive with many 4-5 star ratings praising the fun mini-golf, go-karts, and family-friendly atmosphere. Common highlights include reasonable prices, enjoyable activities for kids, and friendly staff. However, several reviews note issues with maintenance (weeds, litter), aging equipment, and occasional poor service. The biggest complaints involve long waits for popular attractions, unkempt grounds, and rare instances of rude staff. While most visitors had great experiences, some felt the venue needs upkeep and better management to justify costs. Negative reviews (1-2 stars) focus on disappointing service and deteriorating facilities.

Customer Reviews

My boys wanted to drive go karts. I looked this place up online and read the rules. 52 inches and you can drive. This was important because my youngest is about 52.5 inches. So we drive almost an hour. When we get there my youngest stands up to their height measuring sign and he is about an inch short. They advertise 52 inches but its really more like 54. Very disappointed 7y/o boy. They didn't care that their sign was on the wall at the wrong measurement.

We golfed and I made no holes in one. Hole 16 was super fun... I kinda wish we'd have finished with that... hole 18 wasn't the showstopper it should be... but we loved it... had a group of 5... nice course several nice challenging holes... kept up well... recommend.

Mini golf was a lot of fun and we went on the $3 Mondays which was a fantastic deal. There are also bumper cars, go karts, arcade, and couple of things. Only problem is how close it is to a prison. If you are going to just free range golf you are hitting the balls directly at it pretty much. If u look close at the last picture you can see the fencing for it.

Fun place for adults & kiddos. Friendly staff & reasonable pricing.

We had a group of 6 adults. We did the 18 holes mini golf and go carts. The prices were ok and the inside of the building seem fairly clean. The outside grounds need some major TLC. The weeds throughout are out of control. The mini golf course was a fun time. The go carts were fun too but they also need some mechanical tune up.

A great place to take the kids, felt welcome by the person at the counter (I think he was the manager) and the fellow running the rides is very friendly and helpful. We've been there more than once and had the same experience each time! I highly recommend!

Nice place. Lots to do and prices good. Outside area could be maintained a little better (weeds etc). A fun place for locals and visitors.

We drove up here from Dubuque. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We usually come up 6x a summer and fall. Won't B making any additional trips up here at all. The kids working here were curt, short, childish, immature and churlish. Just cared about their phones. The grounds themselves NEED UPKEEP AND SOME SERIOUS TENDING TO. This place used 2 B SO INCREDIBLY PLEASANT AND FUN 2 go to. Now it totally just feels and looks Dilapidated, sorry and disappointing. There's Litter all over the place. Not nearly enough be

Alrighty, let's start with the good 1st. The mini golf was actually amazing, and really challenging. The Go Cart track was pretty cool as well. But 8 bucks a person for 5 minutes is pretty steep. I get it that fuel is ungodly high, but we spent over 60 bucks in a park that was basically deserted. Which gets me to point. This place was pretty much empty, and we actually felt sorry for the staff. If you REALLY need a go cart fix go. Otherwise, find something else to do.

The miniature golf course is very good but the ground?s around the actual course need some upkeep-weeds and trash abound. The staff seemed bored with the exception of the older man who ran the Go carts and bumper cars-he was upbeat and helpful.

I would have given 5 stars. My son wanted to go here for his 13th birthday with a few friends. I paid $125 for 5 wristbands for the boys. This was for "unlimited" activities for 2 hours. There were very few people there today. The boys spent a lot of time on the go karts. There was never a line of people waiting to go on them so they stayed on them when they could. One of the girls working the track told them they had ridden too much and she didn't want to see them again! Real nice!!! Won't be back if that'

Very cool place, with something for everyone. The go-carts and bumper cars are a blast! My son hit the jackpot on his first spin of a game, and won 1000 tickets. Great family place.

Kids enjoyed the go- karts and bumber cars. We didn't stay for the golf but it seemed very popular. Prices were a little spendy but we did enjoy or time there. Might stop again if we are in the area and looking for something to keep kids occupied.

We had a good time, but a few things could be improved. The biggest bottleneck for us was that there were only two, two seat go karts. We went there to give our kids a ride in the karts, and we did, and we had a great time, but the wait for the 2 seat karts was really long because so many people were there for the same thing.

Mini golf is the best part. Arcade is underwhelming. Go karts are fun. Prices are very reasonable. So you get what you pay for. Has a driving range

This is an inexpensive place to waste some time. Usually little to no wait, but most of the rides aren't anything amazing. Be sure to bring bug spray if arriving after sundown because the mosquitos swarm around the lights. Good for small kids.

I got here just before COVID19 and my mom and me went Golfing it was super fun. The employees were not mad about getting wet balls out of water too!

Nice place. Fun mini golf course. The grounds could use a little attention/upkeep. We didn't see any anti Covid-19 prevention measures.

Neat place to hang out with the kids. I took my grandkids there several times. Go carts, mini golf and arcade. Just a good time and fun for me to. Mini golf course was neat and fun. ????

Very disappointed with their service. It was just after 8pm and we were told to leave without finishing our game. Not a way to run a business.

Took my son and nephews for mini golf and go carts. They had a blast!

Had a great time, went for the mini golf, 18 holes, nice course. Very inexpensive, only 6.00 per person.

A little high but pretty fun.

Really enjoyed my time there. I would love to see an outdoor shaded eating area on those super hot days of summer.

Took son for birthday to ride go carts had nice time.

Mini golf course is very well maintained. Price is reasonable. Great place to take a family.

it was fun something to do. Prices aren't bad if you only do a few things but if you want to do more than two id say go to an amusement park

Fun place to go for mini golf and ?ocarts. My son also enjoyed the arcade.

Grandkids loved it, the attendant was great for the go carts and bumper cars

A lot of the machines dont seem to be in order in the arcade. Overall not a bad place but definitely needs an update.

Fun golf course. But the greens need some work and not all the attractions were operational/clean while golfing.

was fun. kinda expensive.

People behind the counter are very inexperienced and don't know how to take orders asked for items and got wrong item and over payed for it

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
