The reviews show a mix of experiences, with many praising the friendly staff, good food, and family-friendly atmosphere, especially under new management. Positive highlights include excellent service, tasty dishes like wings and burgers, and a fun sports bar vibe. However, some criticize inconsistent food quality, slow service, and management issues, particularly during busy times. Customer Reviews

Our waitress was very kind and Thomas hooked Chloe up . The game room is awesome too. Nice place to sit and drink a beer while the kiddo plays some games. The philly was good and my husband loved his burger. I appreciate the new owners kept some of the OG menu. Peanuts are always great during ball games. If this was closer we would come for hockey! EDIT: Lots of the photos are from the old Players Grill. They've put down new flooring, tvs look bigger and crisper, the game room is pretty big in a brand new

Beer was ice cold, service was good.. but a little slow. I'm pretty sure it was because the bartender was the only person waiting tables. I only had a meatball app, which wasn't bad but I wouldn't order again. Kiddos had chicken fingers, I took a bite and they were delicious! Next time I'll grab a beer and chicken fingers or wings.

We ordered for pick up here after my husband really enjoyed his wings there the other week. Their website doesn't allow you to pick a wing sauce when ordering, which I thought was weird but I put it in the comments. We ordered one set of bone-in and one set of boneless, it wasn't a complicated order. Both came unsauced and for $40, I'm extremely annoyed and disappointed. I don't know if I'll go back to try them in person.

I love this bar. Smoked wings are great. Staff is amazing across the board(Taylor is so-so) but the people who come here? Always some great conversation to be had P.S. taylor is a big reason I come here. I meant that in jest. In an industry ofcompetent sassy women? She's a Joan of Arc. Also live music Friday.

Great, clean and fun place. The staff was excellent. Taylor was awesome.

Just came from lunch there with a friend. Ordered the special, grilled chicken sandwich which was probably the best I've ever had and it came with chips, or so I thought. Hot homemade chips, the kind I love. The place is very clean and nice with great food but it was empty. They need us to fill their seats. It's a shame that some of these good places go unnoticed and therefore have to close later. I sincerely hope that's not the case here. Please go. You won't be disappointed.

I've been coming here since it was Players Grill in the 90s. The new owner has done a fantastic job with the decor and the food is phenomenal! The game room is absolutely amazing as well. I've been coming for 30 years and will continue to show this great neighborhood spot love!

Food is really good! Wings are crispy and juicy. Fries are so freaking delicious and their ranch is on point (trust me, my wife is an expert). Atmosphere is good for kids too. They were able to play while we munched and watched the game. The staff is friendly and seem to really like working here. We've been looking for our home town bar and restaurant that has an authentic family feel (we're so over chains) and Players is now our spot!

Amazing service. Good food. Great place

Delicious cheeseburger ?? and a very lovely and considerate staff. Don't be fooled from the outside because the place looks a bit like a pool hall, but inside it is a very nice restaurant and bar that is very family friendly.

I tried their breakfast on Saturday morning and ordered the corned beef hash with two eggs over easy and white toast. It was very good made fresh at a reasonable price. Guy and Tom in the kitchen do a very good job.

Since they changed the name to looker room the food is really bad. You can tell the ownership changed as well. The bartender today never smiled once and seemed like she was being forced to be there. It's a shame because the old players had decent food and a bartender that would actually smile and be welcoming.

Perfect venue for the whole family. Comes with everything you're typically looking for in a quality, locally owned "Sports Bar and Grille". They've got something to entertain all ages, nightly specials, and more than enough screens to accommodate all your favorite teams. Not to mention the giant smoker out back they use to cook the wings and other various meats in.

Please please adhere to my review- this place is a complete bait and switch. Came in for a burger to go order? supposedly costing me $11.99 but when I paid they wanted more than $15. Bait and switch. I suggest going to The Local. They don't do that type of shiza. Response to Players: my only add in was a single slice of cheese- which SHOULD NOT cost $4. Again? beware bait n switch

We were greeted by the owners our very first time. They welcomed us in and introduced themselves. This is a nice sports bar and it's clean! That's important at a sports bar.

This place is awesome! They had a live band playing 80s and 90s music which I love! I had to jumbo wings and fries which are my favorite and they were cooked to perfection! Taylor gave me excellent service. She was on top of everything and made sure I was very satisfied! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing place to have a good meal and enjoy some live music!

Was happy to hear they were open on Thanksgiving 2024. Met some friends with the intention of watching some football and chatting. Turns out the owner was having a party with everyone (about 15 dice shooting drunks) right in front of the bar. It's a big space and probably would have been tolerable if they were deeper into the dining room, which was empty. Ridiculously loud and off-putting. Watched more than a few people come in and leave in short order; then I joined them. Hey, it's his place, and he can do

February 2025 We came back! Had to give it another try because what better place to go when the wife is out and the kids need something to keep them entertained after baseball. Overall the experience was much better. Burger was good, chicken tenders were great, house made chips were ?? ?? *chefs kiss*. Fries still leaved something to be desired, but for what it was, it was good! Game room had a huge upgrade. Kept the kids busy and upgraded from coins to cards which seems to work better. I think what coul

This is our second time and it is wonderful. Homemade fresh food . Great prices. The onion straws is a must here. Double grilled wings Cajun ranch

Finally making its way back to a family neighborhood sports bar & restaurant. Still some work to do on the inside, but new owners are definitely committed and, I think, on the right track. Just need to get the locals in the area to come back and support it. Our area needs this.

The new owners were unable to find a corkscrew and went out of their way to go out and get one so I could have a lovely glass of wine. The food was good and reasonably priced. The mango habanero sauce for wings was delicious. The white staff was, kind and considerate. The owner offered apologies for not having ready available corkscrew. Overall, this is a great place to enjoy an evening. We got a delicious pizza and five wings. The wings were not overcooked and were moist throughout.

Best sports bar in JAXs food is outstanding drinks are perfect ?? service is outstanding friendly people great atmosphere lots of TVs fantastic joint.

Owner Beau Ward was completely disrespectful. I actually enjoyed it as I'm new in the area. Good food and service, but unfortunately the owner was completely disrespectful.

I ordered the monster potato, which is supposed to come loaded with cheese and everything you'd expect in something called a monster potato. Instead, they served a small potato with just a tiny bit of dry pork on top?definitely not what I expected. When I brought this to their attention, they gave me a sprinkle of shredded cheese and a small package of cold cream cheese on the side. Wtf? Went with a party of 6 and no one at my table got what they wanted, and we ended up waiting almost three hours for our fo

We tried this place a year ago and had the worst service. We decided to give it another shot today and the service was worst then last time. Grant it? the server was overwhelmed considering he had 8 tables by himself but the management just stood around messing with the TVs and the watching football instead of helping him. We all got our food 10-15 minutes apart and when the burger finally came out after 45 minutes it was burnt. They did comp that meal and made it up with a high noon on the house and we app

Listen. We're all about empowering women. But sometimes a uniform just doesn't fit. And a uniform should fit. Thats all I'm gonna say about that. It's also a bit concerning when the waitress is sneezing up a storm at the register, and walks up to your table and quite literally throws our straws at us, but I digress. It's hard to mess up a club sandwich, but when they asked if I wanted mayo, I thought they meant a normal amount. What I got was a mayo sandwich with a side of club. The baked potato took a ridi

New owners and everything has changed for the worse. Player's Grille was always a great place to eat and hang out. They had a little arcade that my kids loved. Food and service was always on point. NOT ANYMORE!!! New owners removed the arcade and changed the entire menu. We were a party of five with two separate checks. I ordered my son the kids cheeseburger with the macaroni and cheese and Shirley Temple to drink. Kids menu says nothing about charging extra for cheese and I didn't find out until I paid the

New place for us this weekend. Came in Friday with a few friends and our server (Taylor) was spot on with great service and recommendations. Definitely will be back. Loved the vibe.

Wow! We've been coming here for years, and we were weary of the new management! The service that Tee Tee and Sadie provided us tonight has been impeccable! I haven't seen customer service like this since before Covid! They understood our love of the old owners and the old menu and made sure we got our favorites. Great conversation, heavy pour, and an overall fantastic experience. We will be back to players more often. Thank you ladies for restoring our faith in the food industry!

I am super excited to experience all the new changes to come while still keeping a lot of the things us local Miramar/Lakewood residents love about this local bar! Dawn and Beau are bringing the local crowd back, and it's great to see friends I have not seen in a while! They've only been open a week so far, and they've already had a successful game night among other things! Did I mention that Sunday Ticket is coming back? What's better than Sunday Ticket and a cold beer? Nada. Can't wait for the new m

I hope these new owners learn how to run a restaurant. Only 1 server, 1 bartender and 1 cook for the first Saturday of college football??!! Our poor server was doing her best and did a great job taking care of us under the circumstances. We waited over an hour for mediocre food with multiple errors on our order. My kids love the arcade games and thats one of the perks of going there but half of those were broken or not even powered on!! Really hoping they get it together and don't ruin a neighborhood staple

Good tv?s for sports but only had 1 server for the whole restaurant. Food was sub par. Service was sub par. Keep driving

After experiencing the rapid decline at Players Grille and seeing our favorite waitstaff part ways with the local staple, I was excited to hear about new ownership, branding and food options that Players Locker Room touted. While they've done a good job of cleaning the place up, any other improvements in quality are yet to be seen. Multiple visits in the last few months have included an uncooked ?special of the day,? a $10 cheese quesadilla - served with limited cheese and nothing else (salsa/sour cream)

We went here to watch the Broncos game last Sunday. We had gone somewhere else but they didn't show out of market games. Food was good, drinks flowing, the nicest lady, Dawn, must have spent like 20 minutes trying to get the game on for me (which she did get it). Most people would have given up after awhile and said they didn't have it, but she didn't. We'll be back for sure and thank you Dawn!

Found this place on Maps and decided to stop in on my trip to JVille. Service is great, food is good and plenty ov TV's for all the sports action. Would recommend anyone in the area to stop in!

They have the best bang bang shrimp appetizer.

Its a great neighborhood sports bar. New owner is doing a nice job.

In our neighborhood, long time patrons. Great sports bar food! Personal favorite: Burger and fries! Terrific service! Ample screens for game viewing from neatly anywhere in the building. Under new ownership. We miss the original line up and love the new one too.??

We went for food and were not impressed. The chicken tender platter, one of their more expensive menu items currently priced at $13.99, is only 3 chicken tenders and one of their basic sides. The chicken sandwich is not a chicken breast as would be typically expected but consisted of two basically unseasoned grilled chicken tenderloins. The value and flavor just wasn't there. The fries were okay. We noticed that the menu seemed new and the other reviews talk about new management so it sounds like they need

In for Super Bowl. Taylor at the bar was great. Great drinks and food.

The waiters were very nice and the food was amazing, just try and avoid going here when it's packed. I went when there was an entre team of young baseball players and we waited around an hour or an hour and a half for the food just because it was short staffed and there was a bunch of people to serve. Outside of that, zero complaints

went in at lunchtime after our kids T-ball game with a group of over 20. Our waitress was so accommodating. The food came out so fast and so accurate and the atmosphere was so family friendly! they have these new little GameBoy like tablets that kids can use for free, which were so nice. They were interactive, but something new that the kids could work together on. Bravo to our waitress and the crew there for efficiently running a family friendly sports bar with good food!

This great local favorite is called Players? Locker Room now- new owner (June 2024), total refresh back to the bar you know and love. The staff, the food, the drinks, the game room- it's all back, and getting better every day. If you wrote off players? over the last couple of years, you owe it to yourself to give it another chance.

I love this place! The food, the atmosphere, and the new owner.

Not what it use to be. Bartender was watching videos. Sat a while. Noticed the lack of jerseys and tvs. Was a great place. Found out there were new owners. Ordered the fish and chips. Bartender said it was the same. It was not. Low quality fish fry. Will not go back. Use to be a good neighborhood spot when i lived over there.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, awesome food!

I used to come here often but probably won't be back. Fried pickles were soggy, all food was okay but nothing good. The menu was pretty limited. It wasn't fun.

It was ok, the main waitress was the bomb, but the service was slow... took over an hour to get served. food so so and the drinks were good

This is the perfect neighborhood sports bar! Lots of TVs all on different sports Great food! Amazing wings and burgers And soo nice to have servers that appear to be happy to be at work!!

First time visit and was highly impressed. Best server we have had in a very long time. Gigi was outstanding. She approached us shortly after a seating was very friendly and genuine and was on spot with checking on us throughout the dinner. Food options were very good and all the food was very good A plus plus plus.

The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, food was served fairly quickly and was delicious?the menu has a little something for everyone. It's a really nice atmosphere?could be a good place for a family dinner in a cozy booth or at then bar for drinks with friends. Plenty of TVs for watching the games (I'm waiting for football season!), even a stage for live music. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Been here a few times and the staff is always friendly. Sophia (not sure of spelling) was outstanding today, mentioning daily special or menu suggestions quick with a refill on drinks. I would comeback just for her service

My hubby and I stopped in for our first visit on the 28th. We were in a hurry between appointments. Great service and food was excellent! I had the blackened Mahi sandwich and my husband had a burger. Very nice atmosphere with lots of TVs. We couldn't stay, but it would definitely be worth returning to watch football with good food! I wish I'd gotten the server's name, but she was great also!??

Great service and delicious food. The new owner stopped by the table and introduced herself Doing much needed updates Can't wait to watch the progress

Great staff. Awesome ambiance. Plenty to do.

This place is GREAT! The staff is super friendly and attentive! The food is great - try the wings! Best in Jax! Fun for all! We brought our kids and they had a great time playing the arcade games and they have pool and darts for the adults! If you are ready for some great food, friends and fun - this is your spot!

Taylor the bartender was absolutely amazing. It was our first trip to players Grill and she made us feel so welcome. She explained all the specials, she offered us food, and she really appreciated us being there. Players Grill in Mandarin is our new home, thanks to Taylor.

It's a wonderful sports bar. Great food with reasonably priced cocktails.

When i came into players grille last week i was first blown by the design, it had a very welcoming inside. Along with a very welcoming waitress who served me and my family, by the name Mrs. Melissa. Mind you this is me and my family?s first time here because we don't stay over this side. But the way Melissa handled us really made us want to come back on the regular, she made sure to seat us quickly and to keep a bright positive attitude the whole time while dealing with us. We never had to worry about missi

Very fun sports bar/restaurant with a lot of TVs and mini stage. Really fun atmosphere and great staff. Skol!

The food was cold, the wings were raw, and we were missing an entire order. We called to discuss our issues and the bar tender answered the phone with an attitude and began to raise her voice when I was simply asking to speak with the young lady that took our order over the phone. She then proceeded to place me in hold where I waited for fifteen minutes. The bartender finally informed me we could go back to get the food. I clearly stated we were not in the area and we're not going back due to the issues we

Went to dinner last night with a large group, everyone was very satisfied with the entire event. The food was great, specially the wings. The Cajun Ranch and the Habanero were very well received. Also, the Coleslaw was outstanding. Special shout out to the waitstaff, they were all excellent. Great family atmosphere and TV?s everywhere you looked.

Food and service under the new management is putrid . Waited 18 mins for a server to show up at our table when all but 4 tables were empty . We placed our order n the lady came back 3 times to verify , blaming the machine for running out of paper n not printing haif our order . Finally, when the order arrived, the food was ghastly. Medium burger was burnt black beyond recognition ! Mushrooms and avacado were also burnt . Why would you fry avscado ????? The side of jalape?os was missed . I had request

Went a wandering and came across this place. We were first pleasantly surprised by the homemade beef vegetable soup. Ordered one of our favorite appetizers as well. Potato skins were covered in a generous amount of cheese which held the bacon pieces underneath in place as you bit in to them. We loved them and then ordered a cheesesteak and fries to split. Ya gotta try a little bit of everything at a new place. Cheese steak was also great and the fries were a favorite. The only pic I got was of the skins. We

Take out 10/23, service great - requested well done burger didnt check before leaving. Opened in car then pink and pink and pink is all I saw, hated to throw away especially bcuz I added toppings. Onion rings were ok.

Our favorite neighborhood grill. Had a great dinner there tonight. Staff was very professional and went the extra mile to ensure tables, menus, condiment bottles were all sanitized. Not very crowded... we had more than enough personal space and healthy distance from other patrons. Having a good, intimate family-style meal in a moderate setting allows us to get out of the house and keep our local businesses going while still respecting the need to limit social mixing. Remember... you can also order food to g

Wonderful experience! Our bartender Gigi was phenomenal and deserves a raise! Lyda was exceptional as well the entire staff is friendly and welcoming! Angelina and Leila the best servers I've ever had!

The afternoon bartender is always amazing. She literally treats everyone like friends & family. Never once have i not seen a smile on her face. She remembers our drinks and has them ready before we even sit down. The food is always so yummy!! The salads are so good here and large. Plus pinball machines always make everything better!!! Definitely the type relaxing place to grab a beer and watch the game. But it's also a family place to. They have kids night weekly!!

We've been going to the Players a few times a week for more than 10 years. We especially enjoy your breakfast on Saturday mornings, which has now become a tradition and a great way to start Saturdays. We meet another couple there every Saturday morning. One of the people who has made it special is your bartender, Erin. She really likes people and always makes us feel welcome. She knows our names and what we like to include omelets and Bloody Marys. We cannot say enough good things about Erin, who contribute

Service was ok, and if you were here for a drink or to watch the game it might be a half decent spot, but the food ain't great. My wife's sandwich tasted funky (she got the Cuban), and my Reuben was made with a small amount of the most thinly sliced pastrami (like that cheap stuff from Walmart) wrapped around a gross amount of sauerkraut on cheap loaf bread. I would have expected better food for the price. The fried stuff was alright, but it's hard to mess up something that just needs to be fried and plat

We used to come here all the time. We really liked the fish and chips, and cheese steak sandwich, both of which which came with really good French fries. Then they switched up the good fries for these dry, mealy abominations of fries that were different in all the worst ways. We haven't been back since.

Good food. They have boiled peanuts as an appetizer, yum. Hamburger, sweet potato fries, wings, buffalo chicken quesadillas; all good. A lot of tvs, even @ the booths. Wait staff is friendly & fast. I definitely recommend

We enjoy being with our friend and family at players locker room. The atmosphere is great and we enjoy the drinks and food. We create lots of memories.

Nice place. Food came quickly. Was hot and tasty. Service was good and there are so many screens to watch. Cool place to just chill. Not loud like some sports bars. I was actually able to have a conversation

Always liked dining here. Stopped in on a Wed. The "Specials" menu had paella, and I ordered it. It arrived "not so hot" and I asked for it to be reheated. Also, 1 mussel was unopened and I made a comment about that. The plate was reheated, same mussel. Only explanation was "they ran out". The menu stated "Ladies Night"...bartender was unaware...she asked and informed us that it started at 8pm.. Recommend updating menus and serving food that should be hot and all shellfish should be opened

Loved the club sandwich! Fries are delicious and fresh. Only complaint is that when the place is a little busy and there is one worker on the job, it takes a long long time for our order to be taken and food to be delivered, however it is understandable. Go check it out!

I like the place. The usually items on menu are consistent. The specials not so.. stick to the wings. I ordered Sheppard pie nothing but mashed potatoes and shaved mystery meat . I never had this before. Lol.

100% underwhelmed. I have lived close by for over 20 years and finally made it in last night after seeing somebody say it was decent in a recent review. Not only was it not very clean but the service was subpar. The food was okay but for $14 I did not think my sandwich was very big. I don't think I will be back. I think the service ruined it for me the most.

We've been going to Players Grille for years but not sure we ever will again. Waitress was, I guess, poorly trained. Had no idea how to speak to customers and retreated to the computer constantly trying to create orders and/or tickets. Answers to my questions were, "I have no idea what you are talking about. " I ordered a beer which she never brought and when I asked another employee to check on it she told me that beer hadn't been available all week. Food arrived and my fish (2 VERY small pieces) was sc

Nice atmosphere ! The waitress left a little bit to be desired however the overall experience was ok would definitely go back again but I will try something different. The burger itself I asked for it to be medium to medium well and it came out very well done. This resulted in the burger being dry and crispy the bacon and cheddar was good and the bun was nice and soft with a crispy edge from the grill.

Went for lunch. Place was about 1/4 full. Service was slow. Had fish and chips. Fish was pretty good. Fries taste like they haven't changed the oil in a long time.

Came back here to relive the memories, from when I first met my guy. 3 years ago today we had our first date here! I love it, it was great food and the waitress we had was AMAZING. Super sweet and worth coming back! Thank you for making our night so special! ??

Service was great! Atmosphere nice. Do not order the tomato soup - its marinara sauce heated up. Way too thick and well, better if they added pasta to it. Disappointing!

Good drinks and food. If coming between shifts, as I often do, have McDonald as a back up plan. Service can take a while during this change over unless it's the gentlemen taking over. If your in a rush don't go. Great for burning time tho, which is most of my mission anyway. Tons of variety on TVs for sports. Nice staff.

My husband and I come here almost every Sunday from brunch. Excellent drinks and food ?? We love the breakfast, George's special and the cheese omlets. The burgers are wonderful, cooked well and just delicious. I also love their side salads. They have the nicest staff and owners. It's a great neighborhood sports bar. PERFECTO??

Ordered chicken tenders and mashed potatoes with gravy. Had the fried pickles which were cooked perfect. Everything was very good. Came out nice & hot and didn't have to wait very long.

We went there because we wanted to try a new place, and it was on our way. We will definitely be going back...on purpose! The food was delicious! And the service was great! It is a sports bar & grill. So, it's not the place to go for a quiet meal. We took the baby, and there were other families there. So, it's ok for kids too.

Good food, great service, and a fun place to have Sunday brunch and catch the Jags game. It's inexpensive and has a neighborhood low key vibe. It has games for the kids so it's a good place to bring the family, or belly up to the bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
