From my standpoint, the best arcade in LA. Nice reason: They hosted a wedding reception for me recently! Event planning and staff were incredibly supportive and attentive to details. We got to play some nice wedding themed visuals on the screens and allow everyone for a nice afternoon of play and drinks (with catering delivering to us). Aside our special event, they have a nice selection of games, a very relaxing atmosphere, nice drinks, and special events like karaoke! If you're at all a nostalgic arcade g

This place is the best! It's a perfect weekend spot, especially if you get there early in the evening before it gets crowded. The games and the drinks are all great, but Tanner at the bar is the real reason we keep coming back! He always has the best movie and TV recommendations and we love catching up with him from week to week. He's always such a blast to talk to. He has such a fun energy and something about the way he makes our drinks is just more delicious than anyone (including myself at home) can make

A cool little local arcade bar with karaoke. They have classics like Donkey Kong and The Simpsons, along with multi-game cabinets featuring classic and retro-inspired titles. There's also Mario Kart and a selection of shooter games. And of course game themed names for the beverages.

Impressive selection of pinball, as well as roughly 30+ different racer, shooter, and retro machines. The drink selection at the bar wasn't particularly notable but the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful if your machine eats your quarter. Worth the trip for arcade tourists.

Was super excited to try out a barcade in LA, the prices were around what you would expect? 14 for a single, 18 for a double. The bartender seemed less than enthused to be there, but made our drinks well regardless. I tried the Pink Lightning and that was good. Next we tried the Koolaid Man and that was the most standard bar drink you could expect. Nothing special or noteworthy about it, but perhaps not worth the price point. But who comes to a barcade for great drinks? The retro games available were great.

The Lit Luigi was Fire! That sweetness of it took over and I couldn't even taste the liquor!!! I myself, got the Pinkie Paloma and it didn't even compare. The games were cool, added a nice vibe but Pac-Man was cheating. I liked that they were playing live music, I just didn't think the song selection was fitting for the vibe. It sounded like elevator music. Otherwise it was nice. They need to post somewhere that they only accept coins/cash for the games? But overall, it was a nice place.

A hidden gem in NoHo: Great venue! Fantastic selection of games! Amazing staff! And a special shout out to their FREE table reservation service (check out the info on their website)!!! We emailed about a super-last minute weekend table hold for 10 people and they were super accommodating! Our entire party had a blast. Thank you!

Pretty cool arcade and bar. Prices for the games aren't bad, drinks are good but small (yes, even the doubles). Parking is nonexistent, they allow outside food/snacks.

I did not get to order any drinks while we were there but we had a great time regardless! The atmosphere was super welcoming and fun, the game selection was nice with all the vintage arcade games you could think of, staff was nice, and bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. The games were about $1-$2 a play and they had ATMs and change machines that were all operating well. Would come again!

Had a nice nostalgia hit with the teenage mutant ninja turtle, area 51, and time crisis cabinets. Parking is tough but it's a fun bar to hit up.

This place!! We had a lot of fun here!! Old school arcade games! The nostalgia alone was pretty great. Good music! They serve drinks in the front and have seating in the front area. Lots of fun games and pinball. I definitely recommend this place.

Honestly one of my favorite places to go. They have all of my favorite childhood arcade games. And the drinks... opt for the double if you get any of their game themed drinks. Not because the singles are bad, but you'll save yourself some money. It's worth the $15. I think I've tried all but one of them at this point. So good. And the bartenders are amazing!

This is one of my all time favorite bars to visit every now and then, the drink prices are fair for today standards, the games are very diverse, ranging from 70s-early 2000s arcade cabinets. The staff are very friendly and always happy to serve guests who order drinks. The only minor gripe I have for this bar is the limited selections of beers as most of the drinks are cocktails, and I'm a beer person when it comes to alcohol.

I enjoy the retrowave/ outrun vibes/ theme The drinks are good, but nothing special. There's no food I think Karaoke nights seem fun. Great place to come to have a drink and play some games, or hang out with friends. I tend to chime for the arcade even if not much in a drinking mood

Super chill/ trendy atmosphere. I really appreciate the vintage games, which also hosts not only said game, but the console has 137 pages of games to pick from. THAT IS INSANE! Parking is a bear here, but don't let that sway you, this place is fun!

It's a fun place to visit and there are a lot of fun games but there were just too many problems for it not to hurt my opinion of it. For example, the DDR pad was broken and one direction just wouldn't register. One of the time crisis machines had a broken gun, and the MvC cabinet had a loose joystick. This didn't stop me from having fun, and the live music was nice, but for such a key aspect of the bars identity I would expect these machines to be in pristine condition.

Player One in Valley Village: The Ultimate Arcade Hangout for Young Adults Player One is hands-down the perfect spot in Valley Village for anyone looking to dive into nostalgia, challenge friends, or enjoy a laid-back date night with a unique twist. This arcade bar perfectly balances the electrifying thrill of competitive gaming with a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit for young adults who love good vibes and a bit of retro flair. Best Arcade Games Around Step into Player One, and you'll be met

Player One was once and admittedly still is a pretty smashing Barcade, but they added a new segment to it that does Karaoke Thursday-Monday, and that alone is worth going for me

This place was a blast. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but the bar staff was super friendly and the games were fun to enjoy with friends! Also... air hockey!! Definitely plan on coming back!

Decades old arcade machines, that still want 4 quarters to play. No kitchen but a few food options nearby. Drinks are a bit pricey between $10-15, but the staff is pretty awesome at getting to you and serving it. They have some really classic and antique cabinets. Sadly Donkey Kong wasnt working. Super Mario was fun. Time Crisis 2,3,4, Terminator 2 Pinball. Air hockey, punch machines. Great atmosphere. Seems to get really busy and packed on weekends. Ive aged out, but looked like a great place to take

This place is AMAZING! It has such a good vibe, every one was having fun, no one arguing or fighting. The drinks were good, the games were great, the staff was cool. Its definitely a fun date night spot or just a spot to hang out with the homies. You cant go wrong here.

Safe rule with no drinking/eating in the play area which is separate from the bar and requires masks on at all times. However, wish there were more sanitizer stations around the games as people are touching everything.

What a fun bar! Fun drinks and a large variety of arcade games. Some of the most diverse amounts of arcade games I think I have seen including a Doctor Who Pinball Machine. They even have a Mandalorian Pinball Machine and there was a guy cosplaying as Mandalorian playing the game! Some weirdos were harassing him but the security team shut that down pretty quick to make it a safe environment. Would 100% return to this rad spot.

If you want to have an adult game place that just serves alcohol and amazing nostalgic arcade games from your youth and new ones from now. Go here but they don't serve any food so if you're thinking about eating there like I did, do some research because they have none. But that doesn't take away from the ambience and the amazing place that it is.

Horrible service. We ordered a cocktail and it tasted like straight up vomit. We spoke to both bartenders and they refused to replace the 19 dollar drink that tasted like vomit. I will never come back to this place. You may also want to train your bartenders or get actual bartenders. As a bartenders I was shocked by the way your people handled the stick. If I could give less then a 1 I would. I regret coming in to this bar, what a waste.

Player One Arcade Bar is NOT WORTH THE TRIP. Expensive and poorly made drinks are what you can expect. They charged me over $60 for 3 terrible drinks. And then you have to pay for the video games and there aren't many good ones. This place is just not a good spot. I wish The One Up was still around.

Lots of various games, but most are pricey: $1 to $2 per play. Drink easily top $20.

Love the arcade portion of the bar. Good selection of games. Bunch of retro, well taken care of games that are fun to play. Love the addition of a punching game. Always a classic, love to test who has the strongest punch. One thing that was lacking was the actual bar section. While the arcade portion of the bar is fantastic, well set up, fun to be in. The bar feels like it was plopped in the middle of an office space and is not well decorated. Definitely worth coming to for the games. Not so much for the b

Only been here a handful of times (I don't make it to North Hollywood often), but the karaoke is great! The host was working it, and everyone seemed engaged and positive. The wait to sing was never very long, even tho there was a decent crowd.

Such a fun place to go. The employees are so nice. The drinks are delicious. The arcade games are so much fun. Its one of my favorite places to go on the weekend.

Fun place with some great servers (Tanner is amazing), but I really miss the karaoke! Used to routinely go for it weekly, the best time and great atmosphere. Such a shame they stopped doing it!

Fun place for drinks and games. 1 drink minimum is fair. They use quarters instead of tokens which is way better than other similar establishments.

Love a good arcade bar. Had fun and some great drinks, but on busy nights they should definitely have more than one staff member as customers were irate. As someone who has worked in hospitality for 22 years I know it is hard for the bartender, so they just needed another staff member. Would definitely return.

When splat con canceled last minute, player one was happy to host a bunch Nickelodeon celebs and their fans for an unforgettable night. Came in from phoenix and have memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you player one.

We had a great time here. Awesome games, affordable prices and great new retro wave music in the background. Kind of like you're in a "stranger things" episode. Loved it!

Ive gone to this bar a million times! And I can't wait for next time! All the staff is really friendly Theres an arcade in the back with PLENTY of games and there's an ATM The drinks taste really good and have really cute video game names as well ?? I usually go to Karaoke with my bf and yall may know us as "The funnies" We go there every couple of weeks to sing and be wholesome together ??

The deaf dumb and blind kid sure played a mean pinball..... dumb and sorta blind I am, but a pinball wizard. I this is a great place to come and practice, tho.

Came here with my father while he was on vacation, I am familiar with the business and love it, so bringing him was a super cool moment to share together. Staff is mad chill. One drink minimum to access the arcade and games. Drink specials during the evening. We had the time of our lives together. He enjoyed it so much! Definitely have a fan in me for player one.

I posted earlier?I scolded them, due to a confusion with time but they were VERY understanding and we came to a resolution. It's worth being at for Karaoke. Everything was so fun and the atmosphere is both comforting AND lit. Its gonna be fun. And the bouncer (Zach) was a chill dude at the end of it all. Seriously, give it a shot ;) I mean that both metaphorically and literally

Very boring and dirty and overpriced went here on a suggestion, $13 for a tiny well whiskey, very sad place

It's ok, they just need to fix the fighting game joysticks. Also pinball is 1.00 to play so take ur coins.

Was here for halloween party with Kirby's Dream Band. Was awesome!

Loved this barcade! Old games gave me memories. Watched a pro destroy a game!

This place is so so good... I went for the very first time last weekend and i was so impressed. My friends and I initially stopped in just to check it out and we ended up staying all night... They have every arcade game you could possibly want, drinks galore (vodka Red Bull being my personal fave), and and INCREDIBLY friendly staff.... This place gets so many things right but what where it really exceeds is its customer service, atmosphere, and energy. The bartends, owners, and even security team are so nic

This place was so much fun. We visited the area for my bf's 30th. Prices are about the same as any other bar in LA. The Mario Kart steering wheels could use some adjusting and the Cruisin Exotica game was well worn also, but absolutely zero complaints. Coolest adult arcade I've been to in a while. They had a hostess come around with like $4 shots too. Lots and lots of fun.

I was looking forward to going here and playing some.games and was very disappointed. The games are expensive and run down. There is no beer on tap and the drinks are really expensive. 1 beer (bottled) and a mix drink is $35.00.

Everything but the following was positive - after ordering your drink, the bartender always asks ?single or double?. I thought it was weird at first so I got a single. Good drink, 3 count perfectly for the full single. My second time I thought I'd try a double for me and a friend. Both drinks were a flat 4 count of pour. I'd understand the mistake if it was one drink but when two doubles in a row are poured for 4 seconds each, it's obviously deliberate. Big turnoff for an otherwise pretty cool spot :/

I live near the Noho Arts district and this is one of my favorite bars to go to. They have a wide variety of games including pinball, air hockey, foosball, dance dance revolution, racing games, fighting games etc. It's not a huge place but they have done a great job at having awesome games. They don't have any food so make sure to eat before going, or there are also a lot of restaurants around the area. They used to only have a beer and wine license but now they have their liquor license yay! Make sure to b

Drove out from Ventura to visit this place and I will say I was beyond surprised with the games they have, the drinks and the overall vibe. Recommend them 10/10!

Been to most of the pinball spots in LA. Unlike any other barcade I've been to in LA, they require you to buy a drink. Beware, if you aren't ready to buy a drink the second you walk in the door, they'll find you, interrupt your game and shake you down demanding you buy a drink immediately. Let your customers buy their required drinks when they're ready, don't make them look over their shoulder for your staff hunting them down and regret coming in. Overall good selection of machines and good location, but a

This is a very fun location to visit with people if you really enjoy arcade games and environment! The price for drinks for was a bit high, but it balances out with the price of the arcade games. There's a wide variety of them and the overall atmosphere from arcade to drinks to decor really tailored to my gamer side.

Nice coin op barcade. They have trivia night on Monday nights around 7:30 that are fun the more friends you bring. They have a nice collection of racing, fighting games and pinball machines as well as classics like Super Mario Bros. They even have DDR there! The drinks are interesting and the aesthetic is laid out nicely. I think the mood would be set even better if they played more 80s and 90s tracks, as well as more synthwave and new retro wave music that make you feel like you're on another planet. Overa

Really fun barcade in NoHo! Staff and bartenders are nice. Great date spot of group gathering/party. They have an amazing food truck outside that you can bring the food in to eat. Video game bands and synthwave artists perform there as well. But they usually have a house DJ. Several arcade and pinball cabinets however, are broken and need maintenance. I had multiple machines eat quarters (which they replaced). Buttons wouldn't work on some machines.

local arcade bar that has friendly and dedicated staff. Lots of old arcade games to play and they have change machines on the inside. I come here often and would highly reccomed to anyone wanting to have a good night out with friends. Theres usually a food truck outside the bar and they allow you to bring it inside. You do have to purchase at least one drink min.

Dine in is currently outside, can play games inside, they usually wipe them. They do not have a lot of food, more like small appetizers so I really recommend eating before you get here. Tokyo sunrise is the best drink! People are very nice here

This place has finally figured out a covid hybrid situation that works for playing games and drinking! You have to drink your drink outside at your table because obviously masks cannot be off while inside playing the arcade machines. The owner and his staff are incredibly nice and make sure you're enjoying yourself. Games are fairly priced. They have soju cocktails, white claws, beer selection, and usually two wine specials. Bring cash for coin machines! We got there around 8ish and by 10pm lots of small cr

This place has a vibe that overpriced places like Dave and Buster's will never achieve. You're revisiting your childhood, but with a drink in your hand haha! I was so happy to see so many of these old games again. I loved playing the vintage pinball machines!

Really fun spot. Some of the games are broken (Dang I was hoping the Simpson's arcade game would have made it, the controls are pretty unresponsive...) and the drinks are a touch pricy. We were required to buy one, sort of like a cover charge but yay alcohol! Plus they have cocktails with cool nerd/video game themes. I'd probably get the bulk of your drinks in elsewhere because of cost, but that shouldn't stop you from getting a drinky and spending some quarters.

Very expensive drinks and games. A lot of games are $1. Drinks are small and pricy. Air Hockey was very fun along with Marvel vs Capcom 2. Overall I had a good time but I would likely not come back again. Check out Barcade in Highland Park instead.

Drinks are price af. Machines are on the pricy side some of them the buttons don't even work. (Ate change etc) If they really maintained the machines their wouldn't be a problem On top of that they hog the air hockey like crazy. Should really implement a way so that you are next after the person is done. Very unorganized. Ps. $11 for a tall can?

Nice place even though they don't serve food. The drinks are a bit pricey but the arcade is reasonably priced and has lots of classic machines I haven't seen in years (Area 51). Overall a fun place to have a drink and play some classics.

We came here because our cousin recommended it. We found parking on the street and that was the first time ever in West Hollywood. The outside looks eye catching and makes you wonder what it is. We went inside and a lady greeted us and ask for our IDs since it is 21+bar. Their drink menu has a lot of variety. Once I saw the games I was amazed. There is some that have multiple games on them so there is no need to wait for someone to finish then you get to play. I loved the freddy krueger pinball it was so co

They have the best old school arcade games in all of los Angela. We were only there for a couple hours but it was super fun they also had karaoke going which everyone seemed to enjoy.

So many games, but so oddly managed. The N64 mods as arcade games are great, until you realize one play is 3min and the average Mario kart round with set up is four minutes on the first track ?? also, no food inside! But maybe they were partnered with the delicious food truck outside?

Great place to kick back and enjoy. All the games are solid and up to date. Bar is quick and easy. And there's karaoke!!

Great selection of games and beers! I definitely think there's something for everyone there. There's a lot of space and seating so it's a great spot for groups. They just added an air hockey table too. Excited to go back!

Ancients Of Days arcades that are well worth your time. Karaoke for the tipsy crooner and bartenders with a great attitude.

I really enjoy this place sometimes. However I go there on a Fri-Sat and they seem to close early. Tonight it was 1:30, that called last call, I was enjoying my drink and conversation till I was stared at by their door people. Ended up leaving more the half an $12 bottle of beer on the table. You close at 2am don't rush me out the door. Living around the corner.

Barcade with lots of games, most priced at 25 or 50c. Some decent beer options, and also cider, as well as some cocktails. No food to speak of, although there's apparently a rotating selection of vendors/foodtrucks out front, and a bright place a couple doors down. Good place for groups, but due to the lack of food I'd probably use it as a meeting place to start the evening or a stop along the way, rather than a full destination.

Love this place. Karaoke night and other event nights are always a blast. I've become a pinball junkie, going for Pinball Wizard status. Friendly staff. Inclusive environment. Everybody is your friend here.

Great spot to grab a beer and play some games! Get there early though because it gets busy fast and people will start to congregate in the aisles and it gets hard to walk by. Most games cost a quarter and they have ATMs and quarter machines inside. There is no food, but they occasionally have a food truck parked out front. They have bottled beer and wine ranging from $7-$10 and accept cash or card.

Fantastic place: solid themed drinks served by lovely bartenders, fun variety of arcade games, and one of the best KJ's in the valley helming karaoke. Highly recommend for nerds and friends!

It's nothing special, the games choices are definitely the classics, but in total this place is over priced. We always try a new bar out with one round of drinks, usually consists of a beer and a shot of tequila. No IPAs so we settled with the cat head seltzer ( one mango and one pi?a colada). The house tequila is one of the super rough cheap brands (I think it was Montezuma), so we asked for the next level up expecting Cuervo but it was Espolon. Usually our total for this would be about $20-$30 anywhere e

Needs free games. Feels like a missed opportunity. There is a place like this on Ventura Blvd where the games are free. I feel this place would make a killing if they made their games free too. Paying for really old novelty games is a bummer. I'd rather spend it on drinks. If that's the toss up I'll always go somewhere else and just buy drinks. No reason to come here and spend money on these games. Make the games free and this place will be the most popular place on the block. You will make a killing. This

I had to imagine everyone was vaccinated in order to relax here (would've gladly given my proof of vaccination to gain entry). It's an arcade bar that satisfies your sentimental cravings and provides a small selection of cans/bottles. It's definitely worth checking out when in NoHo. Can't wait to go back!

Awesome people and nice Employees. The pinball machines are only partially worth it, the older machines are barely cared for, a lot of lamps don't work and most of the machines are crooked, which limits the fun. Doesn't really seem like the care for their machines ??

This place is a rip off. You can't use the arcade unless you buy 12$ beers. And the manager will follow you around until you buy a drink. They charge you 2$ at the door for a mask, that you can then take off once you're inside. Ok games.

Too hot inside but decent selection of games

Great place to play games including pinball. Cocktails are okay, might like it better if you're a fan of sake, but there's a decent beer collection which I enjoyed.

Let me start off by saying I do not post negative reviews of businesses because I understand how hard it is to run one, but I am extremely disappointed with Player One Arcade Bar and how they handled the verbal harassment that occurred toward myself and another female friend of mine who both attended the bar last Friday. They did not back us up and they did everything they could to silence us. This harassment was from an employee they hired for the night - the cosplaying guy who dresses up like the Mandolor

The blonde bartender in pink charged me $13 for a White Claw. The menu says $8. I think it's because she saw me with cash. Watch your petty cash, owner. Other than that thieving employee, the games were a nice throwback.

Love coming here for pinball and karaoke! The bartenders are great and other folks I meet here gaming are always friendly and fun.

We went on a monday and a bunch of beverly hills crackhead white women kept trying to talk to us. Pretty much all the shooting games aren't calibrated and they only serve craft beer and cocktails.

Opening night at the North Hollywood location was a total success. Packed to the gills and never slowed down. The "Flux Capacitors" we're amazing. Games were in good working order and they had several I haven't seen in forever.

This place was pretty awesome! When I heard barcade I was hoping for more of a Launch Control where it was totally immersive in decor and music so it was a bit jarring to hear 90s boy bands but the games are great and the drinks are as well!

Loved playing old school games. Full bar and they still have .25 cent play. I was shocked now a days everything starts at a $1 still spent alot but it felt good being a kid again. Reminded me of when I use to leave my bicycle out side the liquor store to play video games good times....

Great bar. Parking nearby. Fantastic game options, including classic pinball cabinets and an Area 51 cabinet! Awesome live music scene, too.

It's impressive to me that I can have so much fun in a dark cement block arcade that offers old school 1970s and 80s video games that I only half heartedly played when they were first out. The air hockey tables are excellent. Mortal kombat is better than I remember, and they have galaga and dig dug as well as a fine line up of pin ball machines both vintage and more recent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
