I Love finding restaurants that have Vegan options and especially when they are open Late, lol! The atmosphere was Super friendly and Fun, great service, food was delicious ?? and I had a Great time hanging out and eating my sliders! Definitely coming back to have more of the Vegan menu and play some games! Thank you very much for an Awesome 1st visit! ???????????

Awesome service and great food & drinks. Every single employee is fun, good at their job, and attentive. Great place to grab a snack and a few good beers. The taplist is shockingly curated for an arcade, Travis does a great job making sure the selection is awesome. Adam hired a new Chef and he has taken all the food to the next level, with fun specials as well as classics. Truly just a great place to relax for a bit.

Just had an awesome time at Play Arcade! The Old Fashioned with Jameson Orange was so good, and the customer service was top-notch. The double-fried chicken wings were delicious, and the chicken nachos didn't disappoint either. Such a welcoming atmosphere where everyone was entertained. Definitely coming back!

This place has the coolest vibe. We've only been there in the early afternoon, so I can't speak to later in the evening, but it's always a good time. The staff is super friendly and just pleasant to be around. I'll keep going back and eating a drinking my way through the menu. Speaking of which, there is a good draft and canned selection of regional beers to try. 10/10 will go again.

This place has a cool fun vibe. Tasty food and drinks. The classic games are so much fun while you wait for your meal and after your done. I only took away a star because of my personal preference regarding some of the "fresh" decor. Since I brought my little ones there, i felt uncomfortable with someof the pictures on the walls. Other than that I'd give it 5 stars for good food, entertainment and great customer service. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Great food, not a huge menu, but big enough to find something for everyone! Great staff, very attentive and friendly! Lots of good drinks, great bar selection. The atmosphere can't be beat, really cool murals and collectibles lining the walls, good music selection, and a wide variety of movies being played on all the TVs, and a good amount of arcade machines to chose from! This was my second time here with the first being in the dead of winter. This time we got to experience the rooftop which was really nice. They have plenty of seating including hanging seats on the second floor. The staff was friendly and we got two of their cocktails and they were almost too easy to drink. Great place with a lot of different things to draw you in. However, the stairs leading up to the roof are a little steep, but just use caution and don't get too drunk up there.

It was ok, the staff were very nice and quick. Food was ok. Ordered a build your own pizza with a gluten free crust my husband wasn't a huge fan. I got quca and pico with chips. That was so so. Drinks were good. Good for a date night or a kids bday party.

Love this place! The atmosphere is great, sometimes too loud. Food is good. Nights are fun. Best things are the beer selection and the affordability. Good price for alcohol, food and the games. Only thing I would change is how sticky things get. I personally clean every game before playing and table before sitting, but there's a limit to what I can do.

PLAY was so much fun! I'm vegan & I knew there were vegan options but I wasn't prepared for how delicious they were! The serving sizes were so big I brought home a ton. The drinks are delicious & our server Travis went above above & beyond. We stayed far longer than we'd planned playing all the games. Highly recommend!

A true time machine...with a bar. Great place to revisit the 80s and show those Stranger Things fans what is was really like. Atmosphere was awesome. Wall murals and decor are next level. The kitchen closing at 10 is a myth me and my boyfriend went in there at 935 25 mins before the kitchen was suppose to close to just get nachos and pizza and we were told the waitress had to ask the kitchen if they would cook it or not the she comes back and tells us the kitchen closed early so if ur hungry do not come here after 9pm

I recently had my friend?s bridal shower at Play Arcade. I am so glad we chose this location due to its great atmosphere and welcoming staff. Our server Amanda was friendly and very attentive. Adam and Lauren were great hosts, making sure we were set up with everything we needed the day of. I highly recommend this location if you are looking to host a small event! A nerd's paradise. Chicken tenders and those loaded tater tots were hot, crispy, and delicious. AND THE TOTS ARE TETRIS SHAPED. ENOUGH SAID? We had our company Christmas Party here. Adam and Lauren were prompt and efficient to work with to get this going and the team last night followed suit. Staff enjoyed being able to play all of the games with food and drinks, a great alternative to a sit down dinner for your staff.

It's a pretty good arcade bar. I was looking for certain vintage games (dig dug, centipede). I think I'll try it again on a weekend night, not a sleepy Sunday afternoon.

Update: After owner responded I understand, it could had been better explained and I'm sad we wont be able to enjoy their establishment during our trip. Previous: Are they shut down? Hours are all "closed" and there's no voicemail saying when they'll be open (or anything at all)

Definitely a stop you need to make. Great food, fun and atmosphere. Staff is great, TONS of things to do. Full service bar, did and arcade. Deck is open now! They have great shirts for you to get too. I drive and hour to go and is worth every mile of the drive!

I'm not a big drinker but decided that I wanted to try revenge of the nerds. The drink was freaking delicious. Bartenders were very friendly with a nice crowd. Was very pleased to see a really big selection of games so that gamers of all types could enjoy. Also...near the tables there are board games. Definitely a place I'm going to revisit.

Tried this out, this weekend, with my best friend. The intent was to get a few drinks and play some games but we didn't make it past the bar (we had a lot to catch-up on). We got the nachos (with Doritos). I didn't even know that was a thing but they were DELICIOUS. Then we had two Dunkaroo shots. AMAZING. Throwback to my favorite childhood snack. Our waitress was such a delight. She was very busy yet took the time to chat with us. The sliders were hot and delicious. The rooftop had just the right amount of sun and shade. Could not have asked for a better lunch.

We had an excellent experience with this well run local establishment for a kid's bday party. I had contacted them and they responded prompty but every time i replied to our email chain the responses went to my wifes email. So I was never able to confirm the date but thought they received all the info. I called them a few days before party and they told me they never received emails. Went on a Saturday night and it was a great time. Air hockey, guitar hero,skeeball and basketball and lots of other games to keep the whole family occupied. There's something for everyone! Bring some cash for the game tokens. They do have an ATM on sight. Come thirsty and ready for games and snacks.

Oh how I wish a place like this existed near where we live. Good food, good beer selection, good service and old style arcade games. The nachos were very good and my kids enjoyed the Mac and cheese and pizza. The kids meals come with $5 worth of tokens which is great value. We'll definitely come back when in the area.

Located in Downtown New Bedford PLAY is a great place for friends and family that are into classic 70's & 80's pop culture and video games. Nice selection of pinball and classic arcade cabinets. Good food and drink selection with many vegan options. Staff was very friendly. 21+ after 8PM. Highly recommended.

Another awesome birthday party this year for our kid. Kids love it! Parents love it!!!!! Pizza, chicken fingers and Tetris tots are a must. Staff was amazing.

The atmosphere here is awesome. Very lively, always busy but not too crowded. I do hope there's plans to make both sides of the arcade feel more inclusive some day, (the basketball corner is a little dark and creepy but you always gotta ball up baby ??). Besides that, drinks are great, food is loved, the entertainment is retro and has a very solid feel to it. A must see spot if you're in the area!

Second time at this place. Always being treated very well by everyone. They take good care of their customers. They have a great range of drinks and beers, I loved their exclusive Moby Glitch (from the brewery around the corner.) Food is great for a bar, I would say 7/10. I'm a nerd so I loved the whole experience and loved even more the fact that employees look happy and having fun it made me think how would be like work there. I loved everything about it. Fun and unique! Food was fantastic. Great drink menu too. We went as a family at 5pm and it was perfect. The PAC Attack game as a family was a blast and they have the coolest air hockey table. The swing chairs on the upstairs balcony was a big hit and I'm looking forward to going with just adults.

First time going here, and it was awesome!! I loved all the retro arcade games. Hydro thunder is one of my favorites!! Hockey and skee ball. The food was great, too. This place is awesome! Someone real put a lot of thought into the design and experience one has here. The food is great. There is a great variety of brews on tap. The games in the arcade are classics and the consoles game systems are nostalgic. The TVs are streaming classic commercials and shows. For an 80s baby, you'll feel right at home. This is a place you'd want to bring the family and friends for great fun.

What a gem!! I wish I would have known about this place sooner. Fantastic outdoor and rooftop seating, the service was great and an awesome game selection. HIGHLY recommend the sliders. Really enjoyed my visit. Food was great and portions were generous. My wife loved playing some vintage pinball. Very friendly owner and staff. I'll definitely be back especially when the rooftop bar is open. Might be the best spot downtown to grab a drink on a nice night or hot summer day.

Fun little spot downtown. Food was fantastic, games were fun, but what really blew me away was the artwork and decor. Talk about a well thought out space. There is not an inch of this place that doesn't have some awesome artwork or memorabilia on it. Super cool! Kids loved it! If you like pinball like me they have like 5 or 6 cabinets. Staff was laid back and super helpful, made my kid a garlic bread that he requested and little stuff like that means a lot bc you can't get the personal touch at big places.

Frink service can be slow at times but that can easily be chalked up to how busy it is on weekends. Awesome atmosphere and plenty of different games to play, good available as well definitely recommend checking it out. If you're getting beer be preemptive and get 2 to avoid the wait for drinks but in all honesty not a bad wait most times I've been there, tip well on 1st drink and they'll remember you like any other place you go on a weekend

Play Arcade has a really fun and unique atmosphere! I recommend going to the upper bar and roof deck swings that offer a great view of downtown and the marinas. The one negative that keeps me from going here often is that the cost of the games and cocktails seem quite high for what they are, though the food is reasonably priced and tasty.

We had my sons 9th birthday here and I cannot say enough about this place. Great food, ambience, staff was so great, and attentive, they had everything we needed and more and very accommodating. So many different games for the kids, they did not want to leave lol. Awesome! We will be back for my other sons bday, this is the place to be!!

As you walk in the door you go through a Time Machine and and are sent into arcade heaven. Games and d?cor says it all. You can literally spend the whole day there and not have to leave for anything. Clean restrooms, delicious food and fun to keep the whole family entertained for the duration of you stay regardless if it's 10 minutes or 10 hours.

Lots of classic arcade games in a space that's larger than it looks, also with free classic console gaming stationed at different corners of the restaurant. Best tater tots I've ever had and good sized sliders. Also has a large rooftop area to chill and drink. Very friendly staff and reasonable pricing. My new favorite spot in downtown NB

It was okay, the food definitely needs upgrading, the atmosphere is good but some of the games didn't work they just took my tokens. I was there with my nephew so I couldn't leave him alone to keep going back to ask someone to look at the game.

Great little bar with friendly staff. They had live music when we were there. They arcade games are from the 80s and 90s as is the memorabilia on the walls. They also cater to kids before 8pm but it seems like they mostly stayed to a side room area. Would definitely visit again.

Old school games were fun to play while we waited for a table. Took a bit longer to get seated but we didn't mind. Portions of the sliders were smaller than expected but good none of the less. Tetris tots were fun and great. Would recommend going with the family for some fun.

This was a great place to eat and play games. The staff was very kind and friendly, the owner himself greeted us at the door and showed us around. The food was delicious and with my boyfriend being vegan and me not it's hard for us to find restaurants where we both have options on a the menu, so it was gre and to have the option to get the meals made vegan. Would definitely recommend and return to this restaurant!!

The atmosphere is amazing.. wish there was some central air or cross breeze something. I won't stay long to hot. The drinks (alcohol) and food is crazy over priced. $12 for a white castle sized burger and tiny tater tot. Wasn't worth it.. I suggest eating and getting a buzz before hand.

Thia place is like a mini Barretts Ale House but WAY freaking better. The owner Adam and the staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and professional. They also have a roof top deck and swinging chairs that overlook union st. Definitely my new spot!

I had the pleasure to break bread with a friend I ran into during Summer Sounds in downtown New Bedford recently. We sat down at the bar and had no idea what we wanted. Went there later in the night. The drinks were overpriced and were clearly inferior quality alcohol. Plus they took it upon themselves to take a tip on my card, even though I tipped cash and wrote 0 on the check. The arcades are cool so they get a extra star for that. Maybe... I'll go back for that. But I'll never order a drink from there again.

Had the most amazing experience last night at @playarcadenb for my nephew's 11th birthday. It was our first time there and they exceeded our expectations. Vacation in Westport every year and come to New Bedford sometimes. First time here and it's amazing. Nerdy themed drinks, great arcade selection, and on top of it a LOT of vegan food options which is hard to find in the area with all the seafood.

This place is actually really good. The only thing that is holding it back is that it's not very big and it's not a traditional arcade where when you play you get prizes, here you don't get prizes. But other than that's it's cool. There's a wide variety of games and there's 2 bars. One by the entrance, and there is one on the roof where you can look down on the street. Fantastic bar-arcade! I love bar-arcades and always make a point to check out the local outfits whenever I'm visiting a new city. To start, Play is hands down one of the most beautifuly decorated places I have been to. From the custom grafiti and pop art on the walls in the main room, to the intense comic and video game inspired custom work downstairs, the place looks incredible.
