Such a fun arcade spot. Fantastic staff, thank you Sam, Gia, and Vanessa. Also Christian and Trey are wonderful. Whoever is hiring staff is on point. Friendly, professional, great food, great recommendations, i love coming here after work. I come here for the exemplary staff, good job management! Also their beyond burger is to die for thanks to Chef Lay. Highly recommend their veggie/vegan options.

Really cool place.Great vibes.Attentive staff .Different seating areas so things are spread out and you can kind of pick if you want to be social or more private. DO NOT PARK IN LOT BEHIND THE BAR BEFORE 6PM .You WILL get towed. This happened to us (we are from out of town) the Manager (I think) was an extremely nice and helpful guy who made us feel much better in a stressful situation. Thank You!

I went down from NY to visit family for my birthday and this was one of the places my nephew and his girlfriend took me on Friday night (6/20) sometime after 9. Everyone there was having a blast. We started at a booth, ordered WAY TOO much food and got a couple of rounds of drinks. Our server was INCREDIBLE! Wow, what a personality, so helpful, so fun, he kept us laughing and took EXCELLENT care of us. I don't remember his name, but he had blackish hair slicked back, I know you all know who he is, haha. The

A co worker recommended and it was a hit with my family. It has a retro vibe all the way down to how they serve their food. It is family friendly prior to 8 pm and my sons loved using tokens to use the old school arcade games. There are 2 token machines that take bills or you can add a specific amount of tokens to your tab. A token is the equivalent of a quarter so it's a great place to go and not break the bank. We will be back!

We went there on a recommendation of a friend. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. Our server, Candice, was awesome and very attentive. Would definitely return. Had the wings, nachos and a burger

My wife and I were looking forward to visiting this establishment for quite a while. Unfortunately I must say it was a bitter disappointment. We came in early on a Saturday night and waited at the bar for no less than 20 minutes before we were even greeted. After that we waited an additional 10 minutes for menus? service progressively got worse. I will attest to the fact that the food was very much on point. I had the ?Big Mic Burger? which I would rate in the top 20 of best burgers (and that's saying some

Overall, super dope place, great atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We also experienced a 10 min wait upon arriving, bartender def looked at us twice and never acknowledged us, but once the owner saw us things moved quickly from there. Games are fair priced, had a great time wrecking my husbands night by killing him in Mario cart ?? we will be back for sure

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for something to do with our boys before heading back to AZ. Service and staff were great, so friendly! Drinks were good and kids had fun on the variety of games! If we're ever back in the area would def swing by again.

The best vegan/vegetarian burger in Norfolk. My friend says his regular pixel burger is the best he's ever had, and he's in the military. He's been all over the world. The games remind you of the 80s. Amazing food, great fun!

This place was fun. It's like a flash back to the 90s. We sat at the bar and played some games on the TV while we waited for our food. I got a Buffalo chicken wrap it was really good. The only thing is some of the games didn't work when you put your tokens in. Or sometimes it would say 2 tokens but you would have to put in more. I got $10 worth of tokens to start it it did last a couple hours. With food and drinks I ended up spending around $50, which for everything and hours of fun it wasn't to expensive.

It's a great place to get a beer and play some classic arcade games. Had quite a bit of fun meeting up with some old friends here.

Cool place to grab a drink and play some games. I like that everything is spread out over 2 floors and many rooms. You don't feel like you're crammed in the space with other people. They have a nice selection of games but a few didn't work or didn't always accept coins. They have a claw game for ducks which was very exciting for our group.

I would recommend Pixels for the fun and drinks. DO NOT get their food. It's awful. We got the burgers and fried pickles. The burgers were so dry and overcooked. Same for the pickles. There was no moisture in the pickles definitely over fried.

I've been here once before and had a lot of fun, so last week I decided to host my 21st birthday here. Everyone had a lot of fun and our server was great, I wish I could remember his name. He recommended me two drinks and I loved them both, my favorite definitely being the Mango Man. They also gave me a little over a dozen free coins as a birthday gift which I thought was super nice of them! My favorite part of the night was the karaoke dj coming up to me and asking my name and then making the whole bar sin

Amazing place! Visited for a networking event and we participated in trivia that night too. So much fun overall. Lots of the machines and games took me back to my childhood (tons of bonus points there). They even have fantastic decor to match. Food and drinks are well priced. Parking leaves something to be desired but again - the night I went there was trivia and a private networking event taking place so it might?ve been outside of the norm.

This place is amazingly fun. We spent 4 hours here trying out all the different games. They're not overpriced like other barcades and the food is pretty good too.

It's got great drinks, games and vibes. I'd honestly rate it lower based off the fact that the kitchen went for a nose dive. I used to even order out from here, now I would only go for drinks and games. But great people and spot, so 4 stars anyways. Bring back the good kitchen.

So nostalgic! I loved the game variety ? classic arcades, pinball, air hockey, skee ball, claw machine, and board games. I wish I took more photos but definitely a great place to be. My personal favorite was the pinball machine. I had wings and they were delicious. The servers and bartenders were very sweet and friendly. Highly recommend!

Neal our server was great. We came about a few months back and came back for the food and we're excited to come again. However it was a complete let down. The food was terrible and definitely won't go back. The burger was just a frozen patty and the onion rings were over battered and soggy. The chilli on the coney dog was burnt and had hardly any cheese sauce. They also moved us because karaoke was going to happen. An hour later there was no karaoke. Very sad that the foods not what it used to be. Just very

We love this place. We bring our kids here once a month or so and we all always have a blast. The food is really good, there's a good selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non. The service is always good. There's great references from the 80s

Great 2 level arcade bar. This place is kid friendly and ha e alot of the old.school games to play. We brung our teens here and it was great.

As a bar with arcade games, this place is great. Good music, great atmosphere, and great games to play. Most are only 25? and none more than $1. However, the food isn't something to be super excited about. I'd suggest sticking to the normal bar food and sides. They have a lot of cute ideas that aren't executed very well.

Decent selection of beer, lots of arcade cabinets and pinball, they also hosted a small art pop up which we decided to check out, great little place to change up the typical bar routine.

If you are looking for a arcade bar then look no further this place has all your old childhood favorites like the old WWF game . Plus the food was great.

Very cool little arcade and bar. Quite a few pinball machines which is always fun; Everyone was very friendly and the drinks were great!

I came here today just to play video games. They have pinball machines that cost 1 dollar (4 tokens) and old school arcade games that cost 1 token (25 cents per token). Two floors of video games, the first floor has fewer games than the second floor. The bar tender can give tokens or you can use the change machines. Did not see Token Specials. Most of the really cool games like Joust, Defender, 1942, NFL Blitz, and Karate Champ did not work as either they were turned off or the coin mech's were not working

The food here is so bad! But the arcade is really cool and the atmosphere is nice. Just eat before you come. Lol.

This place is an absolute blast. Lots of special themed events. The staff are excellent and have a great knowledge of beer, spirits and food. The menu also provides vegan and vegetarian dishes. PIXELS also has a large game room with new and classic game titles from your childhood.

This place is great! I wish I came before covid. This is the spot to have an 80s theme party!! Edit to ?? 2/04/2022, It was busy so we understood we wouldn't get the service we're accustomed to, but we were both ignored by both bartenders even when eye contact was made. My friend's pretzel bites were cold but that wasn't a surprise because the wait for them was stupidly long. Then when we tried to end on a positive note with shots we were yet again ignored. My friend was tempted many times to throw things

Excellent mixed drinks, divine tots, burgers and nachos. The games are so much fun with a few friends. We love coming here!

What a fun spot to be at! We came on a Thursday evening and it was very very fun! The bartenders are super nice and accommodating! Purchasing tokens was very easy too. All the games were super cheap fun, and working! This is definitely the place to play some pinball! My sour beer was great, we'll have to try the food next time! Place was super clean and have tons of places to hang out with your group! Thank you so much!

Great food and cocktail menu. The food menu has lots of vegan options and plenty of meat. We got the tofu fries, buffalo chicken sandwich, and short rib sloppy joe with Mac n cheese and sweet potato salad for sides. All great! The staff is friendly and attentive. Lots of beers on tap and tons of classic arcade and pinball games.

Needs work This place was great a few years ago, it's just gone downhill. I would say about half the games controls don't work in some way. They turn down all the sound from the pinball machines, it was awesome but not so much anymore.

Went there for a co-workers surprise birthday party. What a nostalgic spot this was for my Wife and I. For such a large party, the staff did exceptionally well taking care of all of us. The food was delicious. I had the chicken wraps, and my Wife had salad. The drinks were perfect. Strong, not watered down. The menu was pretty versatile. Prices were decent as well. The games ranged in variety from board games, consoles, arcade, pinball and there was even an air hockey table. All of the arcade games have a c

Very fun place. Food was great! And the games were cheap and really fun. They have most of the classic arcades. Kept us entertained for hours.

Very quiet Saturday early evening. Service is pretty bad. We don't require much, but they move at a snails pace. 3 stars because the good was good.

Cool spot for fun with friends or a date night. The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular. The GTFOH tatertots were pretty good, wish the tots were crisper. The burger left more to be desired, you couldn't even see the beef patty it was so small, it was mostly bun. The ranch doesn't taste like ranch, more like a garlic tzatziki sauce. The south philly sandwich was good, that sharp provolone was perfect, but again the bun was too big for the ratio of meat. There were no draft beer prices listed which ma

The food was fresh and the games were awesome. Took the kids and they had a great time. Most of the games are old school arcade plus pinball, air hockey, ski ball, even board games. We loved it!

Such a cool spot! Love the retro games, everything was working (maybe one game off?) Great pinball, my kids loves the TMNT game that I remember from my youth! They had stools for the littles. Kids are allowed before 9, adults only after. Food was excellent and mixed drinks were creative and delicious. Definitely will go back.

Service can get a little slow with big crowds, but everyone is very friendly and the games are really fun. Great for the family or small gatherings.

Good time overall, great nostalgic type vibes..... service was half & half. Half on point half off centered...... kinda odd since it wasn't busy. Food was not it though, maybe i ordered the wrong thing...... I'll try again next time. ??

What a fun and unique spot with what seems to be a great group of regulars. Clientele is easy to talk to and willing to share knowledge of the old school games and how to play. Both upstairs and downstairs is full of pinball and arcade games from the 90s. The bartenders are amazing and love the good banter. Watching them handle the bar like a maestro was a treat! 10/10 will go back.

This place is within walking distance of my apartment which is amazing. Went there for my birthday this last weekend and had a blast. The place was packed but the staff seemed to be managing it really well and still gave great and quick service with lines of people!! ???? I didn't try the food yet but I keep hearing amazing things about it so I'll definitely be getting some grub the next time we go.

My family and I had such a great time. The arcade was a pure hit of nostalgia for me. However, it was even more fun to watch my children enjoying these games. This made the trip worth it. My review is suppressed because of the service. The whole kitchen staff went on break at the exact same time. If this is the policy, then I wish it was advertised. I could choose to time my visit better.

DO NOT PARK IN THE BACK. We were towed 15 min after walked in. There is one sign that is barely visible. Signs need to be displayed everywhere that people can't park in the back lot. The manager even said he's had issue with his employees getting towed and even still no signs that are helpful for customers. Be very wary of this place and how they do business. We are out of state people that had no idea. Grimy people and shady maneuvers on all sides.

Great 80s themed arcade bar. Good food and a nice staff. Great place.

Great atmosphere and the staff that I've met the two times I've been there are awesome and fun....food is pretty good!

I'm still here writing this post. Neil has been a busy guy, but our party never felt neglected/forgotten. My tots came out cold cold and he did not hesitate on getting it corrected. Now, I think the kitchen was mad because I got half the portion back, but I'm not mad one bit. I'll be back and hope I have Neil as my server again.

This is a fun arcade place that serves good food. Tons of fun arcade games like PacMan, Froggie, Galactica, pinball, air hockey and so much more! Good food choices; potato skins were great! Street parking

The service was weird at the beginning, like it seemed that they didn't wanted us there, but after that we had fun. The hamburger was tasty, the games fun and the price is fair. The big problem was that the ac was off or something and it was HOT up there.

Came with when it wasn't busy which is always a plus. Got a wonderful burger and some vodka sodas which were absolutely delicious! Definitely will be coming back very soon for that pesto and mushroom burger too ;)

The first time I came here, the bartender completely ignored us for over 20 min with maybe 5 people at the bar, all getting attended to. After realizing how many people had come and went, we started looking for other places to go to play games and drink. She finally made eye contact and asked what we'd like, so we went ahead and ordered our drinks. The drinks are very pricey but good, so be ready for that. The game prices are about average for an arcade bar. The games all worked well and ultimately had a gr

Encountered an employee that completely ruin the experience. Was in the bar for about 5 to 10 minutes before security decided to come and address us. I'd really like to speak to the owner about the situation that went down as I take it very seriously

Awesome spot! Great bar & arcade atmosphere!

Great place to hang out and get food after work. My biggest complaint is that all of the pinball machines are filthy, not maintained at all and are always imbalanced. The guy who works on them and comes in "regularly" genuinely does not know how to clean or take care of the machines whatsoever. Additionally none of the stern machines are connected to the Internet so they don't receive updates that benefit the player. Hire a new tech and it'd be 5/5

Made a reservation online for a small group for a ten year olds birthday. Received a prompt email response and a phone call the day before. Service was great as well as food. They even set up a small table with cups and drinks for us. Server and bartender were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for small or large groups.

Wait staff was awesome. The price of the games are good as well. Definitely recommended.

Had the fried cheese curds and the Classic Loaded tots. Played a few rounds of Frogger, 1942, and The KISS pinball machine. Made a long distance call back home using my MCI calling card.

Look, I'm giving this place 5 stars just for having classic games, but?we waited like 10 minutes to get service after all the trivia people left, my brothers chicken Caesar wrap was just a 6/10, and there was a girl in pajamas walking around swiping peoples left over drinks and pretending to play packman. I guess you can just wander around here for hours without spending money and not get questioned?

Arrived and had a cold walk to the front door. For a Friday night, it seemed pretty relaxed with a small amount of patrons which was lucky for me since I don't really like very large crowds at bars. Old arcade cabinets and pinball lines the left side of the downstairs dining area, complete with its own bar and a staircase leading up to another, larger bar with much more pinball machines and a few more arcade cabinets. It didn't seem like there were very many if them, but as I kept walking around I found mor

We had a great time... loved the games & food... & I now have the highest score for Karate Champ lol

The first time coming was invited out for food and a good time. I really enjoyed myself with my guest. The chicken nachos were so good. And the bartenders were really nice as well. They had some of the greats in video games. I was able to play one of my favorites The Simpsons. Omg.. bought back so many memories. If you haven't been. I definitely recommend. I'll be going back again real soon to play the Nintendo

What a great place! Prices are VERY reasonable, food is decent, and the team there are exceptional! Will be back!

I came out with some friends and we had a blast! Trey made our night with great service and his charisma. I and my friends will definitely be back.

I'm a fan of classic good ol Sloppy Joe????. I'm not even gonna front, I'll merk the can on Manwich any day... and do regularly for dinner. BUT when I tell you my life was changed after this Short N Sloppy Joe from Pixels Norfolk ... fam, listen??. ?????????? Made with house smoked shredded short rib, smoked gouda, house slaw and a JP7 sauce [ionno what that is ???????] it's like a childhood favorite had a gloooow-up ??????? ?????????? You want it, you need it, go get it! ??????? Anywhere else locally killi

Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this place. Bartenders are super helpful and it's set up nicely to have a good flow and not too many stops in traffic. Very affordable and a great date night spot

Pixels is always an amazing time. Very accommodating and fun whenever we go. We love Trey and Kai!

They have a good selection of bar food. Very creative with their options in my opinion. All the bartenders are nice and accommodating. The arcades and old school decor make this place 10x better. Loved the vibe here and will definitely be back on my future visits.

PIXELS Pints & Bytes is the place to be. Date night? Go to Pixels. Nostalgic arcade games? Go to Pixels. My wife and i went to Pixels last Friday and received greater service from our server. He was friendly, cool and fast. The Nacho Man and their saturday night loaded tater tots were out of this world just like the Technotronic burger. The drinks I would recommend are the mango man and sex on the beach. My wife and I are definitely going to come here often.

The food is amazing (recommend the PIXEL burger), the arcade games are pretty cool, and their on tap selection is pretty large. It's definitely a good spot in Norfolk for a fun night out!

Great beer selection! There were way more games than I was expecting, and a really cool environment. The pizza rolls weren't very good, we will probably try a different food item next time we go.

This place has so much potential as a pinball hot spot but the OP is terrible. The machines are filthy, and I mean never been cleaned filthy. Machines have broken mechs, damaged scoops that have known fix actions, etc... There is no contact information listed for the OP and no Repair Book on site that I could find. I would have asked a bartender but they were MIA most of the time. This kind of place is bad for the pinball hobby. New people come in, try a game, it's dirty and broken, they feel they got

A cool place with a lot of vintage video games and a full bar. Went for brunch and the food was okay, with just a couple light/meat-free options. If you're looking for large portions of eggs and pork, this is the brunch spot for you. The staff was extremely friendly and seemed vested in us having a good time.

Such a fun place! All of the nostalgia, atmosphere, great bar, 2 levels of fun! Seeing the old school games and some new things as well gets you smiling the whole day. Food was great, bartenders were awesome, and Bob the manager was awesome to talk with! Lots of room in there, plenty to do, so grab your $$, get some tokens, and game on!

Amazing experience through and through, especially for my first time. Lauren was attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome!! Everyone needs a Lauren R in their life!! Will absolutely be back again. The drinks, service, games, and food were 100000/10!!!

I came with my family as a large group and had a great time. The beer and drinks were good. The food is typical bar fare but was good also. I would definitely recommend coming for the retro games.

We had an amazing time! The food and drinks were great and it was very reasonably priced. Our server Tre was so attentive and fun. 10 out of 10! I would definitely go back.

Norfolk finally has a barcade! It is a fun place with a great beer and 40 selection. I was there on a Saturday night and it was busy which made getting to the game difficult. Seems like they could do with a few less tables and more games.

Throwing back to the arcade days with a twist, food, and drink. What an awesome concept for this place. Loved the building itself and wish I knew its history.

Such fun! The food tasted like the late 1980's-early 1990's. Hard compliment to get from me is on three things, one being tater tots. These side tots were perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Update!!! I had to come back and update my review because I was drastically OVERCHARGED on my card!! My bill was only $18.50 + a $10 tip but they TOOK $47.00 out of my bank!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Me and a few friends went to try this place out because somebody told us about the retro games and the great food and she was spot on! I had their potato skins and WOW they were so good!! NOT your typical potato skins that you find at other places. And they had EVERY game in this place that I played as a teenager!

Great place and atmosphere! I just wish there were more skee ball machines

If you like a trip down memory lane come here. I played pacman and galaga! My boys had a great time. Family oriented. Will come back for sure.

I think this place has been going a little downhill, regarding the bartender on duty. I have absolutely no problem with most people who are serious about their job but I was feeling really weird when the lady working Mondays was tending to me. Very quiet and quite honestly rude in my honest opinion, and it's a shame because I do love coming here often but I don't like this place anymore. I hope you guys hire more friendlier people. :/

Great environment for family with kids. You can definitely chill and relax while gaming on retro systems. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants good food, chill atmosphere, and drinks!

I joined a group with a reservation. So we were there as soon as they opened. (I'll start saying our server was great. I believe her name was Samantha) We all started with 4 baskets of fried pickles. When I got the fried pickles there were crispy fry chunks in there with the pickles- being the first and only table in there since they opened that day tells me the grease wasn't clean. They promote the wings as an 8 count. But it's really 4 wings. Just full wings. The sauce was great- but the wings itself were

This place is a fun spot for both kids and adults, my experience was a good one. I didn't know what I wanted at first and the bartender suggested some items and ended up ordering g the bang bang broccoli. There something about vintage arcade bars that is fun and all the games are reasonably priced, you definitely dont feel like your wasting $10 just to play one game like most modern arcades today. The atmosphere here is pretty chill and all the staff is friendly

The whole experience for this place was very nostalgic. The food here was extremely good and the staff were very helpful. All in all, it was a very great experience and would love to go back. Definitely recommend going here for a night out or a day date. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
