Went here for a kids day on Tuesday morning and it was great. They have little cars, support rails for new skaters, they allow balance bikes and scooters too. It's only kids and ours had a blast. They had a little smoke going at times, the dance party with the lights off and some games like a ball in buckets, hokie pokie and the limbo. Great fun for little ones.
Thank you Yelp team for putting this together! The Yelpies were really fun. Made a few new friends. Got to talk murder mystery at the bar with Victoria (she has the inside scoop). Enjoyed seeing friends from previous events. This place is amazing! Loved the virtual reality and karaoke room. The virtual reality is a multi player game room. No headpiece. Nice for bonding. The drinks are really unique and delicious. Food is pretty good too The venue is really clean. There's roller skating, bowling, and arcade
I had a blast!!! My family enjoyed their time here. This place took us back to our childhood days. Creating new memories!
I've been coming here since childhood. I LOVE the upgrade! They kept the original skating esthetic that's been around for years (please don't change that!) but added a new era to the venue. Maggie was amazing, she not only helped us with the new waivers, but she came around continuously to make sure all of us were okay. We will be coming back. A LOT.
Had a birthday party here. They know what they are doing! Check in was easy, guests were able to come in quickly and easily. They had the tables and a waiter to help us through the process. The place was well maintained, fun, and efficient. My kids already want to go back and skate more. It reminded me of my youth when skate rinks were "the place to be". Update; first time visiting since the renovations. The new area is really nice. The floor on the rink seems expanded and the takes are spaced out be
I go here with my daughter quite a bit and enjoy it. Floor is in awesome shape and the vibe is family friendly. The refs are a little too tight (like they dont let me and my wife and daughter all hold hands) and sort of treat everyone skating non-conformist as a criminal... but I guess they do need to maintain order.
We came here for my mom?s 50th birthday after party and it was such a hit! It's great for groups with a wide age range! There is a bar for the adults and tons of activities anyone from ages 5-50 would love. The bathrooms and the entire facility is so clean. The staff is SO nice! We will definitely be going back for more celebrations in the future. 10/10 perfect place for family fun!!
We love it here. The area is big, and there is a smaller area for those learning to use skates. It has expanded and now has an arcade on the opposite side. It is clean and restrooms as well. I've visited one in Bastrop Tx and we did not like it though it is cheaper. And it is smaller in comparison which if you enjoy that aspect, it would be perfect. I'm not a fan of the restroom in Bastrop either. Overall, I do recommend this place. There are also safety staff on the floor to keep people moving and safe fo
We had a group of 5 adults who had a blast skating, bowling, axe throwing, and using the karaoke room! We will definitely go back! We had so much fun! The drinks are great and the team that is working there was so helpful and friendly.
Music is awful. Not diverse at all. Music is played extremely low. It's not fun at all.wasted my money coming here. I requested songs and all request got ignored non of the songs requested had foul language or disgraceful language. Roll bounce is a skating song. Bias skate land. If I could give 0 stars I would. Please don't waste y'all time Austin gotta do better with skating entertainment wow!!!!!
So I really like this place, I came here with my friends. It's cool. Besides roller skating theres other things like arcade games, bowling and karaoke.
People love to complain but hardly anyone loves to compliment? such a fun day! From check in to check out. The young ladies were so nice and the entire staff were just very helpful. I haven't been skating since I moved to Texas. The facility is very nice, and literally has everything you need. If you don't like skating then bowling, if not aracade games, if neither good food and drinks! Just a vibe. Definitely our new spot!
Took my daughter and granddaughter they had a blast! I forgot for a minute that I reminiscing my childhood memories to the roller rink on Friday nights! At 54 and I enjoyed it! Will definitely be back....
What are remodel! They took a great place and made it three times better. Excellent restaurant and drinks too. Excellent value and so fun.
Hadn't been to a skating rink in 30 years but I enjoyed it very much. Friendly staff and great fun all around. Also, the bartenders were so pro and fun. Really engaging and created a fun atmosphere for everyone.
Went for happy hour the place is really nice. Drinks were good. We did bowling. When we got there noticed that it was really warm in the back by bowling lanes. We said something to our server and she explained that someone forgot to turn on the ac they had just turned it on to give it a second. Hour went by it was still hot so someone brought fans over it helped a little but again they said give it time to cool off. Another hour passed still hot. Not sure what was going on that day but it was uncomfortable
My son?s school took the class here for a learn and skate. They did a great job sharing a quick science/physics lesson before letting them remove a wheel. After the lesson the kids got to skate for a while and do some races. It's a nice large skating rink with a space set aside for younger kids and learners at the back. They also have lots of supports to assist the kids. I didn't get to check out the bowing side but we had a great time.
This space is sacred, a great community fun DJ?s and wooden floors for skating! BUT?? This place got a lot less safe when TJ stopped monitoring the floors. He's an icon who made his job look easy and made the skaters feel safe. He'd even teach people who wanted a hand at improving. He's dearly missed. WE WANT HIM BACK!!!
What a great spot for skating and rollerblading!! The floor is smooth and fun activities for kids during the day. Everything is clean including the restrooms. This is a great place to have parties for all ages!
This place is packed with kids having so much fun! We went for a birthday party and found out that the kid birthday parties end at 5pm so many children cleared out after that. Note, if you don't rent a table, you can order pies or pizza. The only complaint that I might say is that the skating rink is too warm. My kids were sweating like crazy. It's a big space so I get that keeping the whole place cool is hard but they may need a more robust cooling system especially as we get closer to summer!
My 9 year old granddaughter had the BEST birthday party ever there! Perfect! Plus, adults can bowl while kids skate. Lots of good games! Can't wait to go back!
We like the place, we had fun and s good time, the thing is I made a reservation only, it never was accepted, we had a group of more than 20 people and we couldn't seat next to each other. So it is a shame that the reservation people never confirmed my reservation or say anything about it. Hopefully in the future there's better communication. The manager was patient and kind. And also the waiters were really good. Overall we had a good time.
Come here most Tues nights for adult skate night. I love all the renovations, and the arcade side seems super cool! The staff is just as friendly as ever, they're fun and wonderful. The food is high quality, but cost to portion ratio is a bit much. Missing the lower cost options for when you want a night snack not a night out kinda thing. That's really the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. Gimme those $5 hot dogs!!!
Went to the newly renovated playland with my friends. It's a huge place and really nicely done. The food and drinks were alright. It seemed like they were still getting their employees trained. But the server who was waiting on us was holding down the whole bowling section. It was busy but he did a great job. So this 5 star review is for Skylar for the great service.
2025 is the year I get my skate on! This place is seriously great vibe. It used to just be a roller ring but they took over the vintage shop next door and expanded to include an arcade and bowling alley. I haven't really explored the new side yet but it's huuuuge! If you go here, you'll probably have a great time!
This used to be a great and affordable place to spend an afternoon with the family. Unfortunately they have gotten greedy and raised prices not once but twice since they reopened under the new name. As a family of 4 we can find better things to do for $70. Sad.
Hosted our company party here in Dec 2022! The staff was extremely helpful in organizing a plan for our event! The rink has plenty of room, we were able to host our party during regular rink hours. Music was upbeat and they played a variety of games. We were able to cater our own food, but not drinks. Pricing was exceptional, and I will definitely visit again soon!
This was our first time taking the kids since they renovated and added space to the skating rink. Overall we were very pleased, staff were very nice and helpful, and the kids had a blast. The center is very clean, and you can buy snacks and drinks. We didn't have time to check out the arcade but it looked cool. Ample parking and the admission fee is reasonable. We will definitely go back!
Fun place to skate, fun people and good energy. Only major downside if you get the DJ on Saturday or the one we had tonight?.sucks. So bring headphones or AirPods seemed to only be jamming to music he liked (awful skate music) besides that amazing time
My spouse and I visited the bowling alley last evening. While the bowling experience itself was enjoyable, the service was significantly lacking. Despite clearly displaying our readiness to order, with both drink and food menus prominently positioned on the table, we were not acknowledged by the waitstaff for an extended period. The staff, including a server who also functioned as the bartender, passed our location multiple times without offering assistance. Furthermore, the table's call button appeared to
We love this rink and drive over an hour to visit here. The new renovations are gorgeous! The skate rink has a wood floor with a side part for beginners. There are roller walkers available for newbies for like $5, and the price to skate is like $14. The food prices are also modest. It can get very crowded at times, but it is fun and my son always finds some random kiddos to skate with!
Wow, this place has had a glow up! It's huge compared to its previous incarnation, and the number of bright neon flashing things has increased exponentially. It's lost most of its rickety, old Austin quirkiness that made the college kids and Adult Night regulars love it, but most of that quirkiness had been subsumed a layer of dirt and dried chewing gum decades ago. Your kids won't miss it and they'll have an amazing time.
If i could give a one star i would. A girl started an entire screaming match over her friend that got wiped out by somebody else, and apparently you can start an entire fight in here, but you better be careful if you don't have friends on the staff. They only kicked me out. I personally asked if the woman who started it was getting kicked out, and was blatantly told "nope. It's just you". Then, was argued with, when i had witnesses. They also waited, near me, for over a half hour before coming over and kick
Good variety of music. Quite crowded between 6:30-8:30. It was nice to have more space in the birthday area. The game area looked pretty fun, will have to check it out next time.
Aaron you are an angel on earth. Thank you for your compassion today for my 6 year old who has had a very rough few days and dealing with a lot. You are an example of one person can make a difference. This Ausrin community is lucky to have you and Playland for our children??
Pins and Wheels is my absolute happy place! ???? It's where I dance, I ride, and I let go of all my worries. Whether I'm gliding across the rink with my skates or catching the perfect beat on the dance floor, every visit is pure joy. The vibe is electric, the music is on point, and the staff always makes sure everyone is having a blast. If you're looking for a place to let loose and have fun, Pins and Wheels is the spot. ???? #HappyPlaceVibes #DanceAndRide
I am an intermediate skater, and I really want to love this place but can't due to the skating rink mismanagement. This is a review of adult skate night on Saturday. It is treacherous without proper management because it is way too crowded and the flow of traffic is poorly managed! Most actually good rinks have it so that: 1) there is a rule against skating particularly fast or skating with feet well into the air; 2) faster skaters skate on the outside and slower skaters skate on the inside, with jam skate
The first time here and the place is extremely clean for the number of people here. My only issue is this, a lot of young kids who are very good (and fast) skaters fly off the rink without regard to anyone in the pathway of the exit. I've seen a number of falls, myself included. Otherwise, it is a great place for FUN!!
A true Austin gem! I was so worried that their remodel would kill the OG Austin vibe of this place but they did it so right and it's better than ever. I'm so happy the kept the discount night on Thursdays because bringing the entire family is so expensive and this makes it affordable. The new floor is fantastic and the entire new area with arcade, bowling etc? is so nice! As always, the staff is super friendly and make this place what it is. Please support this local family owned business!!
Great place to roller skate. The facility is clean and well staffed. This was our first visit since they had redone the place. The new section with bar, bowling, video games looked great. I'm sure we'll be back again.
Kinda expensive on the skates and had to include an additional 4 dollars to upgrade to roller blades. Now this is why I give them a 2 star review. The bar is infested with gnats, I had the bartender change my drinks twice and I still had a gnat in it. I complained to the bartender, they stated they are aware of the issue and the place is working on it. The bartender is nice and that's the only reason they got a 2 star. Your establishment needs to step up your game!
Awesome great fun place to hv family fun.. kids was skating I went left to the bar..?? had a great time...wen kids was done skating then they played games ..wen we decided to bowel it was too late ..it has a Awesome spot to just sit and chill as a parent while the kids play ..food was ?? good..if u want to hv a fun family night go here...the vibe was awesome ?? ??
SO much fun! Low cover charge. Great music, awesome vibes, everyone was so friendly! The place was packed and for good reason! It just took a bit of searching to find parking.
Have been here a few times since they reopened! Weekends are jam-packed, so I'd recommend you visit on a weekday night. Their arcade side looks super awesome, haven't had time to go play the bowling, karaoke, or other amazing things. Bathrooms are clean, energy is immaculate, and the skates have been in good condition everytime we've gone.
It was so much fun to go there. It was my first time there, but I fell a few times with the help things that help you skate. I tried one more time and did it, until I almost fell, but I leaned forward and did not fall at all. This was amazing for my field trip last Thursday the 15th . Thank you Pins & wheels @ playland! 2024-25 .??????????
If you ever come here and you get the feeling that the employees aren't having a good time, your intuition is correct. The employees have no accomodations, they aren't allowed to sit, have to run back and forth between the rink and arcade cause they're short staffed meanwhile the AC is only on about half the time. The skates are falling apart and the bowling shoes are barely held together as is. I used to come here before the renovations. I don't anymore.
Kind of crowded on the weekends, but that's expected! The food is great and the expansion was a great idea!!! The roller rink also fantastic! I love that there is a separate one rink to practice tricks away from everyone! Great place overall!!!
Roe is the best at the cocktail bar! She has the best attitude, so knowledgeable. You have to try the high score martini. Thanks Roe!!!
My rating is due to the way they made my special needs son feel. My son is Autistic and has ADHD. They refused to allow us to purchase a skater aid rental due to my son being ?over 5ft tall? according to them. First off my son is not 5 feet tall he's 4?10 which we know this for a fact. My husband continued to go back and forth with the guy at the counter as he kept refusing. We kept telling him he needed it as he could not skate without. When I noticed my son was crying at this point because he wouldn't be
Roe was our bartender and she was the ABSOLUTE BEST ever!!!! Such a positive and welcoming attitude; made the BEST espresso martini I've ever had and never dropped a smile! I would come back here to see her any day and I live out of town! They certainly got a great one with her ??
The remodel is incredible! The axe throwing was really cool and fun. The velo virtual reality game had our group laughing non-stop. (Play the floor drop game option). You have to try it out! I didn't get to try out the bowling but it looked great. And The food is surprisingly good for an entertainment place. Kind of a hidden gem was the karaoke room. We had a blast. They have three mics and mic stands to feel like a professional. We will definitely be back.
My 18 yr old daughter and I walked into the skating rink expecting to have a wonderful time at my little cousin?s birthday celebration. However, when we approached the counter we were met with nothing but attitude. I logged it as maybe she's having a bad day but I didn't pay it any mind until it was time for me to make the payment and she visibly snatched my 100 dollar bill out of my hand. I spoke with her manager on shift at the time who appeared to be equally frustrated for some reason. Well when YAZMIN re
Been going to adult night skate for awhile on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Love the idea of skating again BUT your DJ music SUCKS! They only play one genre of music and every other song is about p*ssy!! I get that it's adult night but it's ridiculous. This past week when we asked the DJ to play a genre of music he basically laughed and said he already had played that earlier. Not true since we had arrived at the start of the evening. Some of us are there to rekindle the love of skating and because it takes us ba
Toddler skate is amazing! Great music- all the requisite roller games (Hokey Pokey, limbo), staff was nice. Don't forget to bring your balance bike, scooter or other wheeled play toys. Lots of fun at a great price
The new Playland is not it. I'm a disabled mom and there was nowhere for me to sit. Parents were "claiming" tables and that only left the dark benches to sit on. I found a lit seat by the food area and then discovered I sat on something sticky. Also it is inconvenient to a parent to pull up and sign a waiver on their phone. Why isn't there a kiosk where I can do that? Dislike the new vibes, and lack of convenience and accessibility for parents. If you're going to do renovations, why not extend that to the p
The place is nice. There is an odd mix of expert skaters and beginners and several of the experts were doing tricks getting very close to people and putting others at risk. Several times I was told from some fast approaching skater approaching me from behind to move to the left or to the right. At the end of the night one of these fast skaters doing a trick hit me from behind and fell on me blocking my way to protect my head, ? a result I got a brain concussion and lost a week at work. Obviously you sign a
Only place in Austin to have fun for less than $20 but the DJ has one type of muscle they like to play and our requests never got played.
Awesome place to skate and have fun with the whole family. Fantastic variety of music and delicious snacks to munch on while waiting or resting. The bathrooms need attention, and they could have better customer service, but overall is a good place to have fun.
We enjoyed their New Year's Eve celebration, especially the balloon drop. Perhaps a slightly later end time would have been ideal for a New Year's Eve event, but overall, it was excellent family entertainment.
Our couples' date night was a wonderful success. We thoroughly enjoyed bowling and adult skating! We look forward to returning with our little one and having many more date nights in the future.
Thank you! Bartender Johnathon for a amazing bar service the night couldn't have been any better without your help and funny comments. Will definitely be back out soon.! ??
True old school skating rink. Great for all ages and skate experience levels. This place feels like roller rinks did when I was a kid. They have ?skate buddies? and a practice area for novice skates. They have a small food area and arcade. This is exactly what a skating rink should be.
So fun!!! I felt like a kid again. Very affordable for a date or family visit. Adults was about $13. They have good music and offer snacks!
Great Vibe! Difficult finding a parking on weekends.
I visited here with a friend on 3-16-2025 I sat on for a bench table waiting to be waited on and no one came and in the time I sat waiting I saw a group of employees maybe management sitting at a table drinking and laughing and then i proceeded to see a young lady who appeared to be a waitress walk up to the group and play with a taser and make it go off and the whole group at the table started laughing im not sure what was being said but i felt extremely uncomfortable and left not somewhere i feel safe to
We had our work Christmas party here and it was a blast! Our servers Donny and Freya were super attentive and really nice. The axe throwing was a lot of fun and of course all the kids LOVED the arcade, skating rink and bowling! Definitely recommend and we're already planning when we were going to go back!
So much fun! A great place for kids and adults who love good music, fun games and lovely atmosphere. Lots of parking and easy to find.
Great skate spot! They have updated the place a bit and have arcade games in the back. Cool disco ball skate in the middle and they play all the cool skate games, hokey pokey, limbo, races. Good place to beat the heat and get exercise at the sane time! Went on a Friday afternoon and busy but not packed.
I visited back in fall of 2022! I had a great time and it was very active on a Saturday with lots of kid's birthday parties and couples on the rink. I made some edits here based on the owner's feedback. They easily let you switch from quads to inlines with a slight charge. I think they prefer people to pay in cash for admittance but the rate to get in is fair and you can stay as long as you want.
Ineteresting!!!?? my kids loved it!!!???? it was so colorful and fun!! The bowling was my favorite!!?????? I recommend it it's really amazing and my kids agree!!????
The coolest and rolliest! Now with adult beverages! What could go wrong! ....don't answer that but DO get thee to the roller rink and play out all your middle school roller rink romance fantasies. Or just have an awesome time with your own children. It's a great place. ??
Came here for adults only night. It's inexpensive to rent skates and for admission. I haven't skated since I was a kid and I was able to do it, I was super careful though. There's a small arcade in the back, there's a recession stand by the front near the lockers. The DJ played old classics and everyone was having a good time.
Good spot, just wouldn't leave any personal belongings anywhere the staff claimed to have put my jacket in lost and found but another staff member was already trying to take it home with them ?? (at least wait a month or two)
As soon as my mom, my cousins and I entered the place there was a guest who's son was playing with a loose pole and hit my cousins nose, the manager did nothing about that and when my mom asked a question the lady signing us in got an attitude and snatch the money from my moms hand. When my mom told the manager he did nothing and seemed out of it like he was on something. He said we was going to talk to her but she just ran off and hide where the skates were.
So cool, they have a small area to practice skating. They have many different activities for all ages. Family friendly. It gets more packed than expected. They served food, very tasty. It just needs to update game area. Great place for parties can't wait to go back.
A classic from childhood. I love being able to have these experiences with my own daughter these days. Same awesome atmosphere. Adult nights if you don't have the kiddos. You can rent skates or bring your own. You can even buy some in the lobby. Concessions and continuous music. Perfect to skate your little heart out.
Love coming here to have some good cardio and see a bunch of happy people. I have been here for a kids party before and it was very fun. They have roller skates and roller blades that you can rent or you are welcome to bring your own skates, you can also rent a kids skate helper for youngins who are so sure on their feet yet. They have Adult night 18+ Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-11 where people of all skate skills come to hang out. There is a small space at the back of the rink for people who want to lear
Had an amazing time at this skating rink! The atmosphere was lively, the music was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rink was clean and well-maintained, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced skaters. A fun spot for a night out with friends or family!
Went a year ago and it was dated but it was Totally remodeled and so many other things added. Still affordable we will definitely use this place more often
It's a delightful place, always has been. But so much more awesome now!! The cost is sooo reasonable, I paid 8$ for admission. Not sure if it's gone down or was bc of something else. Had a great laugh it's a lovely place. The practice small rink is also bigger now! Win!
First time experience was not great...made the mistake of taking my granddaughters bday cake and cookies in and placing it down on table, did not know I couldn't... wouldn't let me ask my daughter anything just took the cake and cookies couldn't have them back till we left .. made my granddaughter cry... Thanks
Took my 6-year-old granddaughter to skate the first time, and she loved it. They have a skating helper that they hod on to to skate around the ring . Don't go on a Saturday afternoon or go in the morning for the younger ones the cost is 14 per person.
Skater Tots was so much fun! Lots of little ones having a blast and even babies in walkers. It's only $8 and that includes the skate rental! The rink itself is one of the best I've been to. If you have little ones definitely check this out.
Y?all really need to get your employees together to figure out the way things work around there because I literally just went to go do some karaoke with my family and was told that y?all do not take reservations over the phone and that y?all don't do it at the counter And was told that I should come back in an hour because someone was in. So I then took my Kids to go skate for a little bit and then turned in the skates to go back to karaoke just to be told there was a reservation in there which is crazy tha
Great space for your grandkids to connect with their friends!
Went here on a Tuesday night for the adult night skate session from 7 to close. As a first time skater I found the environment pretty beginner friendly. Very accommodating to all levels. Some of the more advanced dudes in there were kinda rude cutting people off and just showing off but seems like that's just part of the culture.
One of the lovlier skating rinks here in Austin. pretty considering the volume of people. Staff are fairly good at making sure people don't wild out either. Great mix of all ages in terms of skating. Beginner and expert friendly. Only downside is when more than 2 parties are booked at a time. Influx of children with weak knees and balance does not a fun experience make. I skate here regularly and numbers differ wideley though depending on the day. There's also a snack bar if you like overpriced pizza and so
This was a nice touch. They came a long way from what it used to be. Now there's an arcade and bowling alley???
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
