Visited Pins Mechanical Co a little over a week ago for an outing with coworkers, and I've got to say?there may be a lot of spots out there, but none quite like Pins. They absolutely nail the ambiance with their mix of nostalgic pinball machines and classic games, all with a fun, modern twist. The duckpin bowling was unlike anything I've ever played?super unique and a total blast! What really stood out was the staff. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is having a great time and are incredibly k

Over the years, as a native Ohioan (where Pins originated), I've told anyone who will listen how perfect a fit Austin would be for a Pins should they ever move this far out west. Lo & behold, they finally did?and it is their BIGGEST and MOST IMPRESSIVE by far! There are 20 lanes for bowling, three different bars, delicious new cocktails, a huge local beer selection (as with all Pins locations), ample games (arcade & non-arcade alike) and a Pins-first ?retro-style gaming room.? So excited & still can't be

This place is great. We wanted to check it out for the pinball and old school games, but it turned out to have much more to offer. All of the old school games were in perfect condition, almost museum pieces they were so nice. Whoever built out the arcade and pinball knew what they were doing in terms of game selection. We also ended up bowling, which was a lot of fun. The street tacos from the food truck were delicious.

This place was great. Plenty of Indoor AC. Kid and dog friendly. The only thing was they were out of water for our pup, however grabbed her bowl from our vehicle and filled it with h20.

Great indoor/outdoor space for games and fun activities. They have over 20 lanes of duck pin lanes, shuffle board, bocce ball, table tennis tables, pinball machines, retro style Mario karts kinda video games with comfortable leather seats, lots of space to just watch sports if you wanna do that. Saw at least 2 Beer bars, outdoor large beer pong buckets, hookie ring toss game. Plenty of games for everyone to enjoy! There are food trucks outside, lefty?s pizza is sometimes closed. Granny?s tacos was a the

This Place was A Vibe Adult Only from 9pm-2am Drinks was Good Music was Great they played all 90's Early 2000's Hip hop & RnB Music not sure if that's always the Case tho so..... Most of the Games Are Free !!!!! You can bring you own Food ,but it food trucks in the Parking lot. Parking is Crazy . If you don't park next to the Building you have to park in the dirt/muddy. #eatwitkei #Austin

If Chuck E. Cheese grew up, started lifting weights, discovered craft beer, and got real serious about vibes he'd be Pins Mechanical Co. This place isn't your average night out. It's like walking into a nostalgia bomb laced with adult freedom. Picture this: giant Jenga battles that get way too intense, duckpin bowling that somehow turns everyone into a competitor, rooftop fire pits that make you feel like you're in a Netflix coming-of-age movie, and enough retro arcade games to make your inner 10-year-old

Pins Mechanical Co. with the crew? Absolute win! From epic duckpin bowling to nostalgic arcade battles, this spot delivered nonstop fun. Huge shoutout to Tracey for making the night even better?fantastic service, great vibes, and a pro at keeping the drinks flowing. If you're looking for a place to let loose, laugh, and make memories, this is it. Can't wait for the next round!

Calling it now - this is where you'll want to watch your sports. The outdoor and indoor tv?s are huge. Such a fun spot for date night or groups! The drinks are super yummy. I got the Smurf one. The cocktails come with little candies. There's a ton of free games and activities too.

This place brings the BIG kid out of you. No food was served in the building. However, they do have a food truck in the front or you can UberEats your food there!!!

The best indoor place to hang out with friends!!! They have plenty of games, local draft beers and music. Great to avoid the Texas heat ??

Has been seeing advertisements for this place for quite some time and wanted to come here on a date with someone and it was quite nice, the drinks were tasty although my first drink was really sweet and I switched my drink with my date at the time. But overall, we only played one of the games because she didn't enjoy bowling as much, and we paroused a little bit, but it was a little bit busy. The overall experience was great and they had a lot of areas, such as a pinball specific area and a retro area where

Everything you could want in one place. Vintage living room with Afghans and game consoles from the 90s, skee ball, pin ball, life size beer pong, amazing place for date night or office social.

Absolutely love Pins! Tracey is the best and makes sure your party is taken care of! Drinks are amazing and the food trucks are delicious! Extremely pet friendly too, our pup loves coming here!

GRANNYS TACOS TRUCK! Jewboy coming soon. Fun games, including some free old arcade games. Crazy big space! All coin game proceeds goes to charity which is awesome

Fun and FREE for the most part. Great drinks and two food trucks to choose from. Can't beat it with a stick! lol

Such a fun place! Tons of different types of games, retro and modern, a lot of space, no shortage of things to do! Great for a date night or hanging with friends. Giant jenga, pinball machines, giant beer pong, cornhole and more.

Wow!!! What a cool spot this place is! Austin is going to love it! Also love that there are 2 rotating food trucks there daily. More games (for free!) than you can shake a stick at and amazing customer service. Tracy and Juan were especially stand outs for me and my friend. Juan was so informative and helpful in guiding us around and following up to see how we liked the place. Tracy?s personality was so friendly and outgoing I might just go back if only to hang out the with her! So happy I live literally ne

This place is amazing! I would give it a 6 star if I could. I hope this place has many years of success.

We went there for my husband's birthday and we have not stopped going back! I love the availability of free games and outdoor space. Staff is constantly walking around picking up drinks and asking if you would need more. And the mini bowling throughout the whole ginormous building is fun shit!

This place is AWESOME. Tons to do, places to sit, good food trucks, parking lot but also garage that is affordable if necessary. Drinks were good, expensive like everything else these days. Free and paid for arcade and pinball games, ping pong, shuffle board (ship style), table soccer, bowling, and I know I'm missing some... Highly recommend!

If you're searching for the ultimate blend of retro gaming, vibrant social vibes, and top-tier hospitality in Austin, look no further than Pins Mechanical Co. in the St. Elmo District. This 43,000-square-foot playground is a haven for duckpin bowling enthusiasts, pinball wizards, and arcade aficionados alike. Yet, amidst the flashing lights and clinking glasses, it's the exceptional service that truly sets Pins apart?thanks in large part to their remarkable Guest Ambassador, Juan. From the moment you step

This place is amazing!! It's HUGE and super family friendly, so we were able to bring our baby. The drinks were great and we got food from Granny?s Tacos which was excellent as well. Our server Reale was awesome and so sweet. We'll definitely be back!

No food here but the staff and the drinks are amazing! Fun for young and old!

This place is fun for all ages. Huge space and beautiful design. A variety of fun activities for a small or large group. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Pins! The drinks and food trucks are amazing and very pet-friendly. Tracey is the best and made our visit very enjoyable. She was very attentive, enthusiastic, and such a hard worker! We can't wait to come back soon!

My girlfriend and I went on opening day. The energy in there was pretty fun. It was not as crowded as I thought it was gonna be. We played bowling and ping-pong, and it seemed like all of the games were pretty easily accessible to where we didn't have to wait long for our turn. While there, however, one of the employees accidentally gave my ID away when someone came to grab some equipment for a game. I was not too hard on them because I knew it was the first day, but if I would have lost my ID, well that

I didn't have any food from there since we had food catered externally for a work party.. But I want to say that Tracey was the most attentive server I have had in a very long time. And she is so sweet. We had a fabulous time, even after the work party was over.

I love this new Pins Mechanical location. Great selection of drinks and, if you are a beer person, they have over 30 beers on tap. Great atmosphere, regardless if you are with your family or friends. Loved playing Sonic on Sega video games. Reminded me of my childhood.

This place is a blast! Great liquor selection. Ridiculously fun games. So many games! The best bartenders and staff. After 9pm, all the kiddos get kicked out and they start carding at the door. Absolutely great night life.

Wow this place is huge with such a variety of arcade games, pinball machines, ping pong, giant cup pong and more! I wanted to try the giant cup pong but ran out of time because there was so much to do! You'll have to try granny?s tacos while you're there, sooooo yummy ??????

Mini bowling is fun. Great Warehouse style building. A bunch of random Kitschy areas. Free video games and pinball. Bring your own food. Really new, nice location

Pretty cool place! Drinks were great and lots of things to do. St Elmo definitely needed something like this.

This place is awesome. It combines all the wonderful things that I love bar games, video games, and pinball. They have great food vendors. It's like an adult playground. I don't ever want to leave. Hospitable staff, clean, and well organized. You have to check this out!!!

Great place for a Friday. Drinks only. They don't have food and it's hard with kids. 2 food trucks with pizza and taco

Newer place that doesn't have a paved parking lot. The food options are food trucks that are a bit overpriced, like $25 for a medium thin crust pizza. The bar and staff that work there are friendly and attentive. Lots of things to keep everyone entertained!

I will be returning! Loved this place so much! Whether you are with friends or on a date, this is the place to be!

Really nice place. Lots of great games. The pin bowling was fun and there are plenty of food truck on site. The staff was super!

Awesome new venue! Spacious, plentiful in activities (duckpin bowling, lawn ball, pop a shot, etc.), has at least two food trucks, clean looking establishment, healthy amount of parking. Looking forward to my next visit.

First time being here. -they don't inform you about signing up for games. Fyi you need to sign up so you can play and use the games ( some they charge you) - they cheat you on the beer they don't fill it up to the top. - a bit over price. I drove from Houston to check it out and was not impressed. They charge you a fee for entertainment. After you spend a lot in there they charge on top of that. I might come back. The only reason I don't rate food is because I didn't buy any.

This place is EVERYTHING! I literally live 1 minute drive away and have been waiting to hear what would happen to the previously-planned-for public market. Pins is literally so genius - there is an incredible amount of game options (some free and some paid), ample bar space for getting your drinks (including NA options!), and tons of friendly staff to get you more drinks, answer any questions, and make you feel welcome. The place is also huge and I never felt like I was battling for space. We played a game

Just bring your own alcohol at the outside beer pong near the food truck. Don't get raped for $8 beers. Bring a martini and say yes it's water: don't tell the ?managers? it's alcohol. Yes it's water, eff off. Don't ask for ice anywhere: just have your party sit at the outdoor beer pong and sneak alcohol in: they will say it's their ?liquor license? they care about. People lie. They want to rape you for $8 a beer.

Great place to hang out with friends and family. Excellent service and staff. Will definitely be going back!

Staff were super nice, they have good specials on drinks and it's a fun atmosphere! I did ask for Tajin on my drink multiple times and it was always missed but it was okay because we went on the opening night, so I imagined they are getting used to work.

took family out twice already. fun, wide open and plenty of awesome games. finally it's down with

Tracey at Pins made our night so much more fun! Her great energy and vibes amped us up! it was so great seeing her swing by and seeing our score and cheering us on!

Definitely a new experience, Great Vibes and Great Beers!

For food? Bring your own stuff. For drinks and video games? 10 out of 10. If you have a work thing, with or without family, this is the spot.

pins is super cool!! our server tracey was awesome- she recommended 2 drinks to us that we ended up loving! super fast service here

Stumbled here on accident. Absolutely love this place! Great spot for adult fun.

Great games, not enough of the fun games. Gets busy quick. Music was wayyyy too loud. Couldn't even talk inside / hear each other out. Fun concept though

Amazing place for friends and family, kid-friendly as well for the most part. Enjoyed our time and drinks were top-notch

Came on a Monday night most games were free! We had lots of fun watching the basketball game and playing duckpin and the many other games

A hidden gem in the apartment area. Huge place and lots of tvs and game options. Drinks are some of the best I've had.

Excellent proposition. Lot to iron out tho: no food til 2P (?!), cocktails are off, lotta free games but then strange pricey ones (hoops)

Fun vibes, big space and lots of activities!

Really nice, fun environment with good drinks and food on site. Nice environment with a lot of free games/activities.

This place is un-American and un patriotic - they don't accept greenbacks/legal tender/cash. They require your information to order beers. This place is for vaccinated boot lickers.

My brother recommended checking this place out. I took my buddy and we had a lot of fun and the staff was wonderful.

Was a great environment kids had a blast and the wife and I did also

Way cooler than I'd expected (and I thought it'dbe quite cool)... lot of options for just relaxing/conversing, playing games, craft beer, etc

Great place with lots of games and activities. If you are looking for a place for time to fly by as you are having a great time this place is it.

Cool place and the staff walks around cleaning the games and picking up cups which is awesome - except the bathrooms which are trashed, broken, and really gross.

Fun place. Alot of games to play and a nice atmosphere. Fun time all around.

Fun spot for an outing! We celebrated a birthday and it was perfect for a large group.

Great spot to re-live your childhood, while drinking adult beverages!!!

Had Granny's Tacos here. One of my favorites and didn't expect to see a trailer here.

Really fun, cool spot! Great selection of games.

I thought this place was cool and fun until I discovered the hidden 3.5% entertainment fee on my receipt, which is just deceptive and dishonest.

Tatum was an awesome host and server for my group of friends!

Nice place to chill with your bestie or your hubby.

I want to like it but it's too corporate for me. Missing the authentic Austin vibes.

Jill was an extremely good server. 10/10.

Jolie & Jamison have amazing and has amazing customer service

Great new edition to St Elmo!

Miserably loud. Weird fratty dallas vibes

Best pinball selection in Austin

Absolutely amazing hangout.

This place is great. All the above!

It was really fun here, just got a bit too loud around early evening. Loved the burger and fries from the truck here! Duck pin bowling is really fun. Upstairs needs some fans since the heat rises up there, but really nice sitting. Parking is good of you don't get boxed in by other cars, be careful where you park if you don't plan to be there a long time. I did see a big piece of glass from a broken bottle. Something to watch out for. I would enjoy coming back again anyway.

This place is awesome I don't think it's that expensive but I will say prices are higher than I expected I didn't take any pictures I don't think but I did take some videos but yeah. I did get to try Jew burgers from the food truck and it was really delicious and I've been wanting to try them but I will say though that it was a little expensive too I had four sliders and a basket of fries and I was like 30 bucks. I did get to check out pins mechanical restrooms and they were very nice overall this is a grea

Tracey is all you need to know!!!!! She was the best and can't wait to come back!

(Translated by Google) Excellent place to go with the family and spend a very entertaining day (Original) Excelente lugar para ir en familia y pasar un d?a muy entretenido

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
