Customer Reviews

I discovered Pinbug early in my pinball mania. It was my first 'Spot' and since then I have found many more. None quite like Pinbug however. I have not yet found that quite compares to the exquisite, connoisseur-like quality this collection has been brought together. There is a kind of transcendent feeling, every machine bringing such a unique flavor. machines from many different eras. all brought together.

Ventured out to Pamona to check out this seemingly too good to be true retro pinball place. Turns out it is very real and Jeremy takes great care of these machines! I'm impressed and thankful to be able to play some incredibly unique pinball machines! They are very reasonable on game prices and have quarters available for cash. Well worth the trip!

Jeremy's a nice guy. Although the setting and sights of the area is very retro 70s, there's a strange fascination with this place. It is definitely NOT the appearance of a 2000s location, but only for the grown folks to be familiar with. Parents that bring their kids will get a real-world experience about how the 70s looked outside and inside. There's a strange sacredness in its 'old' look but it's what makes it a vintage arcade location. The games are definitely vintage and oldschool and I love it to death

Throwback, pinball focused arcade which will have you looking for your old walkman, Jamz shorts, & Hypercolor T-Shirt. I'm of the opinion that this is the best arcade in the Inland Empire right now. Mostly pinball machines)which are all working), this place sits in downtown Pomona and uses quarters. They'll take of anything you need while you're there. They also run Pinball League nights and GALAGA! & Ms Pacman plus a few others in the back

The Pinball Bug in Pomona is an awesome spot for pinball enthusiasts. The shop has a great selection of vintage and modern machines, all well-maintained and fun to play. The atmosphere is inviting, with knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about pinball. It's a perfect place to hang out, whether you're a seasoned player or just getting into the game. They also offer parts and restoration services for collectors. Overall, a must-visit for any pinball fan!

Super awesome place with loads of vintage pinball machines to play, the owner is super kind and the variety of machines is great. There's definitely some challenging ones, and some for beginners as well! A fun drop-in place to hang out between hopping around downtown Pomona

Really fun spot to play pinball. Games are from the owner?s personal collection and span a wide variety. 5$ gets one person 15 minutes of play. It's hours are limited to evenings right now. We stopped by with our kid after dinner and had a ball.

Such a gem. Well maintained machines. Friendly staff. Very happy to have something like this close to home.

So much fun! There is a variety of vintage pinball machines from 1969-2001. I went in and played all of the machines. They recently changed to using quarters for the machines. You can use your own quarters or purchase bags of quarters for $1.00 or $5.00. Whether you grew up playing pinball or not, it is a guaranteed good time. You will get the hang of it fast. We needed a business like this in the Pomona/Claremont area and are excited to keep returning. The owner is super nice as well!

This place is rad! If you're a pinball nerd you'll dig it.

I was in the area and wanted to just look at the spot (we knew they were closed), and Jerry was so awesome to say hi and give me a business card to come back in the future. He was really nice and friendly. Such a cool spot with rad pinball machines. :)

Unique pinball arcade, really fun, the most amount of pinball machines I've ever seen in one place. A lot of cool vintage pinball machines, all unique and different. I definitely recommend.

Brought my daughter here and we had an absolute blast. So many fun games. Good mix of old and new. All at reasonable coin drops. Keep it up Pinbug!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
