Customer Reviews

This place is legit. Just a classic old arcade pinball experience. All coin op. Most games are 50 cents or less. When they're open just walk in and start playing. Worth a special trip for sure.

Loved visiting. The old pinball machines were cool to see and play. Change machine on site, bring cash or quarters! Street parking out front.

This was an Awesome experience!! It's been along time since I was able to play so many different pinball machines!! There are two buildings across the street from each other and they're jam-packed with all types of pinball and retro video games... I called and the owner even said he'd stay open an hour later for me because I had over a 3 hour drive to get there... Thank you very much!!!! I wish I could leave 6 stars!!

how did such a small town end up with not one but two really awesome little arcades? this place and it's sister location Arcadia kitty corner from it encompass nearly 100 games and pinballs between the two. Some good old fashion fun at this hidden gem in the glory of small town america

World class selection and the machines are in excellent shape. Five plays for $2. Rare wedgeheads and modern machines. Eat before you get there, there's no restaurants here.

Some friends and I make the long drive down to McLean a few times per year to play this great collection of pinball as well as the classic arcade games. This is by far, one of the best kept arcades I've been to in years. You can definitely tell that this is something the owner enjoys as the machines are well maintained. Worth the trip every time as he is always adding new machines. Just wish it was closer to me.

I had to do my 34 hour reset at the truck stop down the road. Pulled up google maps to see what was in the area. Found this place and took a walk over. Glad I did, I had a great time at this arcade. The Omega Race game was my favorite.

My boyfriend and I took a road trip to Pinball Paradise/Arcadia for his birthday and had the most amazing time! Nestled in the little town of McLean, Illinois (and along the historic Route 66), the owner took great care to turn old(er) buildings into this cool arcade! These tables are well taken care of and play really well! There are tried and true favorites (Theater of Magic, Indiana Jones, Frankenstein, White Water - to name a few) along with some really neat classics! We cannot wait to make another trip

2 plus hour drive, but it's worth it, small town that feels like Mayberry!

Absolutely 5 stars. There are two different arcades in this small town, and one entire building is deboted to pinball games. Seriously, some amazing vintage games are available, from multiple decades. $0.50 a play for most! To the philantroper who created these places - my hat's off to you.

As far as I could tell, there is no accessible/handicap access to this property. Pinball Paradise: If I just missed or overlooked it, please let me know how I could/should have gained access and I will gladly update this rating and review.

Great variety of pinball games great fun for 1-2 hours

One of the best public pinball collections in the Midwest. It's so encouraging to see someone breathe life back into the square of a small farm town.

Great place for pinball

Great selection of games that are kept in really good condition. I am glad I do not live nearby or I would spend way too much money here.

Fantastic repurpose of an old building. So much variety and affordable. We had a great time visiting.

Nice selection of machines in an interesting historic building, measure your weight for a penny.

This is an absolutely amazing collection, and a great, well-maintained venue.

Love this place. So fun for most ages!

Good time, nice place, a must visit. Clean and family friendly.

We spent 5 hours and had a blast!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
