We had my granddaughters 6th birthday party here. Its was amazing the staff was courteous and accommodating. The kids had so much fun and its was definitely worth the money. Can't wait to do it again
PETRO BOWL: Overall: ???????? - This was our first time going since the remodel after Laura. I was worried they may have just put a band aid on the damage but it really felt like they did a good job. The addition of the large arcade was really cool. I miss the bartender Mindi though ?? she's my favorite! Food: ?????? - nothing to call home about. Basic bar food but there were a lot of options & it was fairly priced. The chicken nuggets tasted exactly like McDonald?s. Accessibility: ?????? - quite a bit o
They allow kids to run around unsupervised and harass other customers. When we complained, we were accosted by another parent for complaining. Staff refused to intervene, allowing her to harass us as well. Apparently they're relatives of the workers, and they blamed us for complaining than the other parents for refusing the supervise their own kids. They ?threatened? to pull up security footage, and we told them PLEASE DO. It would only show their kids following us around and bugging us to pay for their ga
All divine nine organizations did a charity event here at Petro bowl. It was a clean environment very family-friendly updated lanes and digital screens we had a great time.
While traveling for business last week, I scouted out local bowling lanes in Lake Charles and decided on Petro Bowl. This was my first time visiting, and I was impressed by how clean and visually appealing the bowling center is. I took advantage of their after-5 lane rental rates and got in several games during my 2-hour rental. The lanes were freshly oiled before my arrival and played beautifully. I also noticed the staff preparing a block of lanes for league bowlers later that night, showing how well-mai
Paid for 2 hours and spent more time asking for the lane to be fixed. Asked for a refund and was told we can only give extra time. Why would I want to spend more time asking to have the lane fixed?
Fun fact about this place. If you're solo parenting it, and want to walk with your kids and say get some food from their concessions I can't see, or go see what the arcade looks like for longer than about five minutes they will give your lane away to someone else and pick up your food and drinks, even if your jacket and all of your shoes are still there and you pre-paid for multiple games (not time). Refunds are apparently out of the question for them.
Awesome place to go to pass time with the family. I don't like that the lanes are so narrow...but they're always greased up and slicker than snake snot. Me, the wife, and kids go every month. We live in Jennings and it's always worth the drive. The staff stays in their phones alot and I think should be a little more attentive, but it doesn't take away the fun from the game.
Young lady working the register was so helpful. Dude working snack bar was on point! He took orders, cooked food and called out orders. Management should definitely find him some help or give this man a raise!! Go on big guy!! Arcade was ok. A lot of the games weren't working and the few that were just took my money and decided not to work after I paid. No employee was around tending to machines so I just took the loss.
Pretty big place has awesome promotions really recomend to take advantage! Also very reasonable prices on food and it was very fast fast service. They had about 4 racks of balls in different weights and hole sizes.
We decided to do a last minute small family get together for my daughter's 5th birthday! It has just been completely remodeled since having hurricane damage in 2020. So the inside is VERY NICE & CLEAN! I personally don't like the new design of how the tables and seating for each lane are off proportion. Again, this is just my personal opinion and makes for a little confusion when there are multiple parties or people that aren't with you that are bowling. They have really awesome birthday party packages that
Great family place. Staff was fantastic!! Very clean ??
Nice, recently renovated bowling alley. Arcade, beer, food. Good value
Very friendly staff, appears to be remodeling, wasn't busy at all early during the weekday early. We were the only ones in the gaming area. It was nice to have bumpers that come in and out automatically based on the player's settings. I hadn't been there in along time since they had the old green foam that was manually put out, requiring a second lane if someone didn't want bumpers.
The menu has expanded and they have yummy options. When you first walk in from outside it smells like smoke. The guy at the counter when we left couldn't find my fiance's shoe so he had to ask for help. Otherwise a great experience.
My mission team had fun at Petro Bowl. It was close to our location and not too crowded. We played one game as we enjoyed the burgers, fries and pizza.
Very kind and courteous crew. Great place to have a good time.
We came on a Saturday around 6pm. It wasn't too busy. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. The shoes were fairly new and they have a good selection of bowling balls to choose from. My only complaint is the seating. There are two rows of tables with four seats each. We had five in my party which made it a little awkward. I suggest getting a lane or two by the hour instead of by the game if you have a few people with you. They also offer games you can play as you bowl. They have H-O-R-S-E, Angry Bird
Easy place to go enjoy an evening of bowling. Staff could be a little more engaged in the lines to keep them moving but a friday night during busy hour is no time to really complain. Still a solid experience.
Staff are very unhelpful at the front desk. They have 3 to 5 employees standing behind the counter doing nothing while a long line waits for 1 person to help customers. The other register is not open, and the miserable looking staff get annoyed that customers are annoyed watching them do nothing.
Group of 6. One kids. 5 adults. Couldn't use bumpers due to restrictions of ONLY age 10 and under can use them. We are adults but here for fun with friends (mind you we never bowl). Not anything serious at all. Could not get lighter balls because 8lbs and under is ONLY for kids. No music! Bathrooms are dirty! They didn't even have soap in dispensers in bathroom. Played the whole time waiting to be corrected for no reasons at all. The employees kept coming to our area.
It's clean and nice! Couldn't give it a higher star because of the folks at the counter. We were quoted a price for hourly bowling, but all of us weren't there yet. So, we didn't pay yet. A few minutes later, we went to pay, and it was way more than what we were quoted. We had trouble with the computer from the get-go. The system on our lanes froze, and we couldn't even start to bowl....it took 15 minutes to fix it, but they had started the clock anyway We couldn't get them to restart it or just pause it. L
The remodel looks so great. It's a great atmosphere and the employees are great. But the alcohol prices are a little ridiculous. The bartender was so awesome but it was $14 for a double well mix drink. That's more expensive than the casinos. Just thought I would come on here and be honest.
It's a nice, clean place to bowl. Seems very limited on light small balls for kids. You are stacked on top of other people playing next to you but that is a bowling alley.
Birthday party was great and very clean
I hadn't been in since the remodel, and it looks great. The lanes are nice and everything is clean. The arcade seems really good for a bowling alley arcade as well.
Very clean, neat floor plan. The lanes have been decreased in order to have a large arcade area. They've added 3 party rooms for birthday parties. Updated equipment, added extra seating, and an overall great place for family fun, especially during the summer heat!
Did not honor a card for games purchased ahead of time because it wasn't in their system. Will not ever go back here.
We were so disappointed, it was HOT, fans were being used to circulate air. But we were sweating, Our lane kept breaking down. We paid for 2 hours, we left after 45 minutes. And No refunds or credit. Last time we go there. I will not recommend to anyone! This was a miserable 45 minutes! My grandson was so disappointed and miserable.
We've come here for years, love the new place. Last night the new GM Mark will ruin this new experience for us. He harasses all of the workers all night. We felt so bad for the bartender he would not stay out of the bar yelling and nit picking every single thing she did and seemed like he just wanted to be the bartender. She wasn't doing anything wrong he was griping about things that did not matter while having a control freak fit. Then does the same thing to the workers that work by the shoes. One of the
Stopped in on a weekend getaway and had the time of our lives. The prices were almost half of what we pay here locally. It wasn't over crowded at all. It is a bit of an older place but that's the kind of stuff that keeps the prices down. On the other hand for it being a older place it is very well maintained! Definitely a must if you're in Lake Charles looking for something to do.
Very nice place to have fun. We didn't have the best experience only because our lane kept getting stuck closed, going black in the middle of our games and all the balls kept getting stuck and wouldn't return back to the ball rack. When we went to get help we were told the mechanic was on the phone and would come to fix the problem.(it was never resolved) so we were switched to another lane. Our game time was also running out while we sat waiting for it to be fixed. The food was great. We had fried Oreos th
Great place for family to have a wonderful time
Had to wait on my food and it wasnt hot
AMAZING time and memories. ?? ?? ??
Great place to go and have family fun. Come check it out.
My girlfriend and I were having a really good time bowling we had bought an hour, and in the last 15mins of it some grouchy older white man named Mark came up and took away the ball I was using. I just thought he was trying to help and remove some of the excess balls that were on the lane so I politely said ?excuse me sir I am using that ball? and as he was walking away he ever so rudely said ?no you're not these balls are for 10 and under?. I find that mighty interesting if that's the policy, seeing as how
Very nice and friendly staff....Great Atmosphere for kids my daughter enjoyed herself thnx
The remodel looks great and most of the staff is friendly. However, the manager Mark was kind rude. The bartender was super sweet and so were the guys near the shoes. The seating in there is kind of dumb though. There's no seating around the area where you bowl. Just a small table with 4 chairs behind it that you share with people you don't know. Which wouldn't be a big deal if they also still had the seating next to where the balls come out. We pretty much had to stand the whole time. So hopefully that chan
Had a great time. Clean and customer service was great!! Reasonably priced too. Definitely a fun, family friendly place.
Has arcade for the youngins who don't bowl. Got a lane as soon as we wanted. Has a lounge if ya wanna shot or a beer. Decent food, but the beer makes all food good.. lol Honestly, good place, good price, good beer
Everything looks nice since the rebuild after Hurricane Laura a couple years ago. However the lanes we were given were not fully functional and required several trips to the service desk for help to get working. The bumpers for the kids were never functional on one of the lanes.
It was a nice place to go and have some fun during the week.
Decent place definitely a good family and friends kinda place, pretty good pizza ??
I did not want to leave a bad review because I am a business owner as well & I know how it affects our businesses. We went in to get a lane Monday 12-27 @ 8pm and Mark told us we would have to wait until after 10 because it was a full house. We waited 2 hours and when the teams started leaving we went to get our lane to bowl til 11 and Mark told us the time online was wrong. I proceeded to tell him how HE told us we would have to wait and that's exactly what we did. We did not get our info from online. Ther
Wouldn't recommend . Rude management charging you for a hour game and then removing your name from the game after 15 minutes saying you can not play without bowling shoes even if they haven't make you aware about it when you paid . Refusing you to refund your money . Other people were playing with no bowling shoes one but I guess it may be cause I am foreign . The worst place ever
Nice & fun bowling alley. There's a concession & a bar lounge area. Great place for family & friends to hangout.
It's nice I guess they remodeled and it looks good in there. They weren't serving food or drinks in there yet but when they do I'm sure it will be handy to have. Got a cool little arcade in the back looks fun. The lanes were a little too oiled imo but it wasn't bad deff going back when they get food and drinks! Stars would prob go up then from 3 to five.
The tables are small and the seating is tight and not enough seats. I'm a medium size person and it wasn't very comfortable. A large person would not be able to sit at the table near their lane. The computers are not easy to use and are confusing with the options given to setup for playing a simple game. It doesn't allow you to delete and add other players without having to ask for assistance, which isn't always easily available. They are working the counters where you pay for your lane and get your shoes.
Had a blast. Clean. Awesome arcade. Family friendly. Nice lanes. Will be back.
Good drinks. Music was nice for all age groups. Food was good. Plenty of bowling lanes.. I'm going back in two weeks.
Clean facility and the staff was accommodating to our needs. We brought our 8 year old niece with us. The staff made sure that she was supplied with bumpers for each game. The food court was clean and pizza was affordable and delicious.
Fairly clean and newly remodeled bowling alley. We are here on a Saturday morning right when they open at 10 am. After we started bowling, three other families come in. They have the entire bowling alley to spread us out in, but they put us all together. I've never been to a bowling alley that does that. They have always put an empty lane in between bowlers until they cannot. Also, there was something sticky on our lane so our shoes would not slide. We have our own bowling shoes and now we get to try and cl
Threw a birthday party here. Biggest mistake we could have made. The party room was filthy and took way too long for someone to clean it. Trying to get bumpers added for the kids (all around 11 and under) was like trying trying to get a bill passed through Congress. If I said the customer service was terrible, that would be an understatement. The pizzas they served were burnt. If I could rate this place with negative stars, I would. Unfortunately 1 star will have to suffice.
If I could give no stars I would! Absolutely terrible customer service! We had my son's party here and had booked a party room. We couldn't even get into our room at our given time due to it not be cleaned yet. This cut into 30 mins of our time that was paid for beacuse my husband had to keep going up to the registers to remind them were were waiting. We needed to set up! Then our bathroom in the room was out of order. The kids were trying to play in the arcade while they waited for the party to start, but
As a league bowler I have been attending Petro Bowl for about 4 years now. Over the years I have come into contact with several of the people that have been employed there. I feel confident in stating that the new GM, Mark, is one of the best people they have hired in a long time. I really appreciate that he is attentive to everyone that is bowling. If we have any issues with the lanes not working properly, Mark is one of the first people to show up and attend to the issue at hand. It's nice to not have to
The place itself was fine. People were nice but not overly friendly. Paid for an hour of bowling but had some issues with the lane we went on so we didn't get to utilize all of our time there.
It was fun. I enjoyed would go again if I were to visit again.
The place is clean and has a few cool games. My eldest son and I had fun. They need to add a pool table to get 5 stars from me.
Went for a school field trip. It was fun. The kids loved it.
I have enjoyed this center since the new opening but slowly Marc has made me not want to come back. He yelled at my friend and I as if we were children. It was pretty embarrassing. I don't think we will be back until he's gone
38$ for 2 hours of bowling, and less than 8 dollars for a pitcher of beer. No complaints here. Didn't play any of the arcade games but there's a decent mix of shoot em ups and ticket machines
Staff had an attitude and not enough help in kitchen. Waited literally 40 minutes for a hot dog. Then was told they don't have chilli. We had my kids birthday party there. It was so bad a family friend had another party scheduled for this coming weekend that they cancelled their reservations for the party. It was fun but wouldn't recommend for kids partys.
We went to Petro bowl this morning from 9-11am. And we had a blast.. It's very clean, the employees were extremely nice to us and very professional to boot.. This is a nice place to bring the children anytime to have good clean fun.. The food was really good!! The employee in the food court was really nice and she was fast.. It's so easy to get to..
They don't want let you use the bumpers unless your 10 and under andbad customer service
Lots of fun to be had when bringing friends or family. Best time to go is usually before 4pm, that's about when the drinking tends to start. There's plenty of space, the games aren't pricey, and there's a concession stand as well as an arcade.
Our lane froze up three times totally an hour and a half of waiting to bowl. When brought to employees attention there seemed to be no care. We planned on bowling for more games but after three times in two games adding up to thirty minutes wait time to get started again, in the middle of a game, we decided to leave. Would not really recommend to anyone. I understand stuff happens but after the second time maybe a lane change or a sorry would be more appreciated. Bartender had great customer service though
They were extremely busy with a field trip but they were quick and got us taken care of quickly. The lanes are better then they were before and the new programming was confusing at first but gave so many options to play.
My family, friends, and business have been bowling at petro bowl for about 12 years now. The lanes haven't ever gave us much trouble but the food. We used to love the cafe food up until about two years ago. We even used to go in just to place to go orders even if we weren't bowling. I'm not sure what they do different or if they don't have the same cooks but the pizza is HORRIBLE now. They put a pound of cheese on it and leave way too much crust. There's no crust on thin crust but they leave about two inche
Such a great time. Here from out of town and searched for things to do. Staff was super friendly and attentive, facility was clean. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!
It does ignite the kid in me just takes time to get a few strikes to spark life into you.
Beautiful place. It's been renovated & has a much cleaner look. Took my Granddaughter there for a tournament. We had a great time.
Went there with my coworkers on Monday, our day off. Couldn't bowl because it was league night. Butt loads of lanes only for league. Also, you can't smoke anywhere in their establishment. Not picking a star. Going home. You might have better luck than I did on my day off.
Went with family (siblings, niece and nephews, parents) on a Monday afternoon. We spent the first 30+minutes with lane issues (it wouldn't keep score, wouldn't reset pins, screen not working, etc). After the workers attempted to fix the issues numerous times, they then put us on a different set of lanes, which then reset half of our family's scores on the lane that was working. We did get time added back to our play time after fussing. I think this place is too reliant on electronics now for bowling. It us
Nice open area and friendly center. Staff was very generous.
My husband and I love to bowl. We were so excited to finally get to bowl closer to home. We have been to petro about 5 times now and every time we are disappointed by something. The seating for petro is absolutely ridiculous and the owner (maybe the manager?) is a total jerk. Hes the one with the white hair. Evertime I have to talk to him, he is either rude or condescending. He has literally laughed in my face when asking him question. There are two boys that work there that are really sweet but I do not kn
I had a blast here the ppl nice
Horrible customer service and screen kept freezing and took all of our bowling time so we basically wasted money to go there for nothing. Would give 0 stars if I could!!
Just some way to go to be with friends and to have some fun. They sell pictures of beer that are truly cold. They also sell pizza and a few others items, like nachos and cheese soda caramel iced tea. The place is pretty big like about 20 lanes oh, I know you couldn't tell from the outside. Bathrooms that kept nice and clean oh, and all the lanes beautifully polished. You'll find how family-oriented it is oh, when they have a small slider board, for children to put the bowling ball and roll it down the aisle
Only gave 3 stars because of the food service and the waiting list
There are a couple things here and there that need repair, you can tell it's an older place. other than that it's nice. Staff was friendly, all the bowling equipment worked properly. Nice family friendly atmosphere. Had a good time, would recommend the place to someone else.
We went on 6/20/22.. the atmosphere was great! The hamburger basket was amazing and I would order anytime! Pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets were all great too!
We brought the kids here because someone was having a birthday party. Upon entering, you immediately notice the "stale smell". The place seems a bit dingy, but the actual bowling experience wasn't bad. The alley worked great and the kids had a blast. These funny looking dinosaur things are provided for small kids to help them roll the ball. Because of that, even our 2 year old had a blast. The staff was very friendly. The pizza was a bit bland and cardboard-like in my opinion, but the kids liked it... which
Get there early before it gets packed!! This place fills up quick!! We love it everytime we go! Never have been disappointed!! Can't wait to go back!!
I like what they did with the place after the hurricanes, we had my sons birthday their a few weeks ago and everything went smooth. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to have a party.
By far the worst bowling alley I have ever been to. The entire place smelled of must and mold as if the place had flooded and was never cleaned. Every ball was overly pitted and what I would consider unusable. The lanes are poorly maintained and the equipment malfunctioned to the point where it took almost 30 minutes before we were able to even start playing. The staff seems to not care about the upkeep and cleanliness of the establishment, and don't seem to want to deal with customers. I will not be revisi
Update: the man has been kicked off the bowling league. We caught a man taking pictures of my friend while we were there, her husband confronts him takes his phone and sees the pictures of her on the phone along with other women we didn't know!! The manager came up to us and was told what was going on, we explained and my friends husband asked for him to be told to leave and the manager said he couldn't do that because he was about to bowl! Come to find out that man plays on league there and I'm guessing th
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
