Cool place to bowl. Had grandkids birthday party and all 9 kids loved it.(4 thru 9 year olds). Parents said prices were very good for indoor play place. Helpful staff too!
Nice arcade/bowling alley. Pretty clean and friendly staff. Some of the games don't work correctly or at all. Might just be this time because they were so busy and didn't have time to fix the broken ones. Will definitely come back again
Kelly ( the owner) was amazing to visit with, and his staff are equally friendly and top notch! Beautiful alley and very clean facility!
It's a good place but most of the arcade games don't work and none of the bathrooms in the women's stall have hooks to hang a purse or coat up on. The balls seem a little grimy too for bowling. Otherwise good environment and good date night options.
Overall its a fun place to take the kids on a rainy day. $40 will keep my 9 and 5 year old busy for hours. The place is very dirty and a lot of the games are run down/broken. I would pay a little bit more for games if they would spend the money and fix it up. Bowling lanes are nice
Went with a large group for some food and fun. Food and service was good. Free soda refills for the kids was fantastic! Bowling, Laser Tag, & Arcade games were all great activities. A very fun night was had by all.
We stopped here after jazz band and paid $8 a person for 2 rounds of laser tag. The building is warm. You can pay a dollar in quarters to play pool.
We went for a child birthday party and the staff was very helpful and maybe things so easy. Also the price for everything was very acceptable.
It was my friends 17th birthday and we decided after going to Texas roadhouse to go to perfect games but the thing is she got sick right after roadhouse then she just gave us money for some games of bowling for 4 people then we payed for 2 hours of bowling and he had a really fun time but then our machine broke then we saw a worker go up in between the lanes and hit and awesome slide cancel into the machine where the pins are and fix our machine and they were very nice we wanted 20 more minutes and it was r
Came here on a Sunday and paid for 2 games for 3 people. The first game ended and then another wouldn't start so we walked up and said uhhh? And then they claimed we only got one and they were closing early so we just sat and drank our drinks at about 11 and then 11:40 rolled around and they told us we needed to go and we said uh you're open until midnight ? The employees became rude and claimed we couldn't come back anytime soon whilst looking for my friends phone around 11:40pm when they didn't even close
This place was indeed perfect for meeting my co-workers and enjoying some apps and a friendly game of bowling. Even novice bowlers like us were entertained by the cartoon bowling pins after each game. Good apps, but kinda pricey. The nachos were excellent and our fried pickles just right-- after the management replaced our first overcooked ones.
Great place I liked the food but the prices on the website are much different from the real thing. The bowling lane was $24 on the website and when we got there was $30, that's a 25% difference. Don't know if other things are also different but probably
It is a very strict place to enjoy with family and friends. I recommend a variety of games.
Absolutely loved it! Children's area too! All types of arcade games and a bowling alley and a place to eat all in one place!!! Very affordable!!!
We spent 5 hours playing here! Great time and we met one of the owners. Great guy and very friendly.
I went here with 2 of my friends to do some bowling and pool. Playing pool was not bad. It's $1.00 per game. But when we went bowling we all sucked and we wanted to put up bumpers to make it easier. We payed for 1 hour of play time and when we kept bowling gutters we tried to put up the bumpers. Before you could do it yourself on a screen. But when we tried we could not find it. We decided to have an employee help us. But when they came they said they couldn't put up the bumpers since "they only do it for k
Sounds like the owner is a diddler, have to drop from two to one star review. Great concept, Ames could definitely use everything it has to offer. But, the mini golf course is better off not played, the bowling alley isn't great, the lanes are inconsistent with wax, food is edible, and games could have more variety. I see potential, but I also see more lack of maintenance, lack of employee confidence, and consistency. A lot of work needs done if they want to stay open for much longer. More like, "imperfect
Our group had a great time bowling, playing laser tag, and playing arcade games. It is a great place for a large group!
Friendly team members who patiently wait while 10 ten-year-olds get geared up for laser tag. Everyone had a great time. The price is more than fair as well. Highly recommend for parties.
Lots things to do. Great prices.. will be back. Enjoyed the mini golf with my husband..
Children's play area was extremely dirty. All the games are to close together. There's no room to walk through with a small amount of people in there.
Had a blast! We get to go once a year with wounded warrior project and they are so awesome to us! We get to bowl, play laser tag, and play games until our hearts are content! The staff is always quick and super friendly. Totally worth the 45 minute drive. Always super clean as well.
Great place. Bar service was not the best. All the kids had a blast otherwise
Bowling, arcade games, lazer tag, got the Taco pizza, was very good, free refills on pop, also wifi, didnt see any bike racks...
Perfect Games was a good establishment to celebrate my daughter's birthday party at. I have previously celebrated multiple events there, from birthday parties to bachelor parties. Whether you're an adult looking for relaxing environment, good drinks; decent food; entertaining games; and bowling, there's not much else in Ames that can deliver like Perfect Games. However as is often the case it's the staff that really makes the place shine or sore in hindsight. The current Ames staff is very chill. In the e
Bowling lanes, mini golf, and laser tag all were functional. My only gripe would be the arcade games. I'd say roughly 50% of the games were down, and of the rest that were on multiple had issues. Guitar hero one of the guitars didn't work, half the weapons for the shooting games didn't reload or shoot properly. Really unfortunate. If you plan to go bowling, laser tag, or mini golf this is a great place to go! I'd avoid it if all you want to do is arcade games.
My kids love going here. It can get expensive real fast playing video games, but they do have specials, half price on Sunday and if you watch the paper they will have different coupons. The daily specials seem to target college kids because they are later at night. It is in a college town. They have many bowling lanes and have a wide range of people with different skill levels that come here to bowl. The employees have all been kind and pretty calm even when it is extremely busy.
Awesome great service the server was super nice and quick
Over half the games are broken and when you tell them they don't offer any refunds or actually come to fix the machines. The prizes have gotten really bad too. It has gone downhill in terms of games.
The kids had a lot of fun here. The pizza was good. The bowling lanes were clean and well-maintained. We spent a lot of time in the arcade. It was a little pricey, but comparable to other arcades. The kids really liked the indoor playground. It was understaffed for winter break, but the employees were great at quick service and getting what we asked for. Only complaint is that the lightest bowling ball was 7 pounds, too heavy for little kids.
Great price. I am from Washington state, and we really enjoyed adding this to our trip. Of course it's noisy because it is a very large facility. Our balls got stuck several times, but they fixed it quickly each time.
My kids absolutely love going there we usually go there for their birthdays
Great family place. I take my kids there almost every day. The staff are great people. If you bowl for sport these are the best lanes in the area, they're almost always oiled. Its fun for all ages, well unless you are a sissy.
Made reservations for 2 lanes by the bar side. I was told that it was set and cost in a email. I requested that side do to having 10 + people and It just bigger and roomy Making it easier for all. So I get there and couldn't get that side due to leagues playing. But I didn't get a heads up on this and was put where there was little room and I had to do all the running to get food and drinks. The other times I've made reservations we had a host to do this. I have never been so upset with this services. When
Always a great time here even just for bowling.
My kids and I had another great experience at Perfect Games and I wanted to give a shout out to the staff. They were super responsive on the bowling lanes, and gave one of my kids a new pair of socks (no charge!) so she could bowl with the rest of us. I could really tell they cared! The pizza & drinks were tasty, and the kids had a great time in the arcade/game area. We've played the mini golf course as well and found it fun from age 4 to 40!
NEVER COME HERE. The service was absolutely horrible. The waitress that was taking our order was absolutely disrespectful. She kept taking other people?s orders and ignoring us. The waitress was racist and sexist. I ordered a pizza and she asked if i wanted a taco salad instead because she knows I love it she said exactly ?Because i know you love it? After we got our pizza, I saw it was cold and moldy. We asked for napkins and when she brought them out, they were super dirty. She said ?I know you guys are a
This was genuinely one of the worst experiences I had at a place. They force you on weekends to buy an hour of lanes, that's fine it makes sense I suppose. $32 later have a lane. The way they have the lanes set up next to each other should be studied for how incompetent they are. They put us on lanes with the place to sit facing next to each other. So when you sit down you're constantly looking across to the other people. Well just so happens that this group across from us was a kids birthday party, absol
Lots to do and fun! But a little on the pricey side - bring your wallet.
Bowling was fun. But half the games in the arcade were broken. One of the games my son won the top prize, and it did not dispense, which was a pair of headphones. Instead the cashier gave him 200 extra tickets, which I thought wasn't enough for the prize he could have won. Some of the machines, we would swipe our card and it would take our money- but we were unable to play them. Their AC was either broken or turned off and it was 95 degrees that day. Everyone was drenched in sweat. Overall not the be
A ?family establishment? that allows racially insensitive names for the league bowling. I sent an email expressing my concerns and never heard anything back.
Great except, waitress did not visit our group of 9 after initial work for 2hrs.
Staff was really nice and helpful. We bowled and played arcade games. It was a lot of fun. Bring your mask. Also some of the arcade games are shut down for social distancing.
Nice, and clean, very well maintained, also sponsored the bowling teams for high school. Need to sell snacks/CANDY... NOT just playing some Kid game to buy CANDY.... Not all of your customers /patrons are going to do it... You are limiting the access for the customer, who in turn makes the place short-staffed because there are no extra profits, due to company needing profits for expenses...... Think of the mark up.... I know what they can be as I was a manager at a small store, so we all helped order an
Some games in the arcade work, some don't, some just take your credits and don't work. Lazer tag is fun, bowling is fun. Please fix the broken games.
Solid place, games are entertaining. Needs more pinball.
First time with the family while watching them bowl having the time of their life...the kiddos couldn't have it better....
I liked it. I ordered the BBQ bacon burger and technically I know they can't use charcoal but it had the flavor to it and the fries nice crispy no fluffyness the way I like it. I played a few games. I liked the star wars pod and Terminator game. Was bummed out the dance game was out of order. And the pinball game cheated me a ball.
We had a couple visits to perfect games it's always been okay not great but okay then today 6/14/24 a girl came over after one of our family members whistled. Upon asking for someone to come over a couple times it wasn't super loud but wasn't necessary even so she still came over after i came to ask her to help us with a stuck ball problem. she then began to say ?when ever you need our help with something theres a service button at the bottom of your device theres no need to whistle at us? and walked off in
Half the arcades were broken. The Laser tag was pretty fun, however short lived at $5 a person for 7 mins. The putt putt golf was alot of fun, course definitely needs some TLC. Lots of broken speakers and divets in the course. The bowling was outrageously over priced priced! We stuck with the other activities. The kids had a blast in the little corner play set. We tried playing the arcades. After putting $80 on an arcade card we learned half the arcades were broken and this apparently seems to be the nor
Granddaughter had a blast! Place was clean and staff was very nice! Thank you for making our visit so pleasurable!
Over half of the machines in the arcade are broken, so that sucked. The bowling was fun. The pizza was okay.
Super fun place and I'm glad it's here. I wish that half the arcade games weren't always out of order but it's still worth it for the memories.
Wonderful night bowling (maybe some drinking), lazer tag, and arcade!! Fun for the whole family. Only thing I could complain about is wishing they'd vocalize the $25 hour a lane as we had bought 5 games before learning about the hourly rate!! None the less, thank you Kevin and I forget the name of other guy who helped us but they were very informative and had exceptional customer service!!! Thank you!
To start, the light on our bowling lane was out. I asked if they could be turned on and the simply responded "they don't work". When asking what the options are to fix that they said "move lanes or a full refund" this was out of the question as our party wanted to be next to eachother. When asking for something free or at a discount in return and the manager was appalled. I simply wanted to get sprite for the group. Something this small for bowling the the dark would be accepted. However I was met with no s
Absolutely FANTASTIC experience bringing a church group here. JC and Tiffany were so patient planning this event with us. Laser tag and Arcade were fun, but the bowling was exceptional. Totally recommend!
It's a great place to get out of the house and take the kids to have some fun and decent food pizza was a little weak the the wings and fries were bomb I would definitely come back prices not bad either.
My granddaughter had her birthday party there so my cost was different than the average person. It's amazing how much video games have changed. I don't think by looking at prices that it was too bad. It was a good place to have a party
Went recently for a retirement party. The new Laser Tag arena is fantastic. The Laser pistols have been upgraded as well. A lot of fun!
Bowling was fun. Food was decent. The card for games seemed to go pretty far for the amount I loaded onto it. Only complaint is that several games didn't work but took the money off the card anyway.
Expensive... Short staffed, so your waiting in lines just to get cards, bowling or even food. Kids had a great time but my wallet definitely didn't.
Great place for families and kids parties. Just bowled 3 games. It was so fun. The animations are hilarious.
Had a family outing here, great time. Pizza was fabulous, bowling was so fun, arcade had great games for all. Highly recommend.
Very fun and has great food and amazing games. Perfect for a date or for the family to go have fun. I highly recommen
We were assigned to a lane that seemed really nice. New user interface screens that allow you to select when to have the bumpers up and down. However we used the feature and had to go to the desk and ask an employee why it wasn't working were they informed us that "that feature just doesn't work on that lane. You can have them up or down". Cool.... We were bowling with little kids and the ball got stuck between the gutter and the bumpers and we requested assistance for it and waited 17 minutes before someon
Great place for families or date nights! Something for everyone to do! The food is good for bar food! They make great Bloody Marys, too!
Always enjoy my visits up here from Des Moines. Awesome tournament host for the State Iowa Games every year! Thank you!
Lane keep malfunctioning, but the staff were very friendly. They comped us the price of the bowling with a free $10 arcade card.
Always a lot of fun. A little on the expensive side, but not too bad. Food is pretty much what you would expect, and always pretty decent. It was pretty busy but we still got a lane right away. Sometimes a few too many games are out of order, but this time i seemed like everything was working. My 5 yr old loves playing in the little play cage thing. The one thing I wish the kids play area wasn't so close to the rear exit, makes me a little nervous when it's busy.
I'm a little disappointed, the game I want to play is always not working, its the terminator game. My kids love it though, it gets really loud and bright, so if you have sensory issues, I would avoid going here. It sends my wife into overload every time we can only go when it isn't busy. Otherwise, we can only stay for 15 or 20 minutes before she can't take it anymore.
Lots of fun, amazing staff. Always a good time for both adults and kiddos.
AMAZING PLACE TO GO! I helped plan a school field trip here. We had 140 students and teachers. Coordinating with the party planner, Tiffani was a breeze! She had so much knowledge and insight in helping us plan. Gave us ideas and a schedule to help ensure each of our kids got to do each activity. They were ready for us on time. The opened their doors with smiles on their faces. When helping the kiddos get their bowling shoes and prizes they also showed so much patience and grace helping each kid as quickly
Use to be one of my fav places until today never have I been asked for my id me and my kids visit atleast twice a month. Now all of a sudden today is being ID?d pull out my id and says he can't accept it because it's laminated which was not true then my sister pulls out her id and he says he wouldn't be comfortable accepting it for no good reason at all..You want good food drinks and service go next door to the bar and grill in the plaza and most of the games are broken and don't work..so save yours some tim
Fun place. Bowling lanes are good. Alot of games were out of order, this was disappointing. Laser tag is fun but it's stupid that they make you watch the safety video EVERY time you play, in the same visit. Food is ok but a little expensive.
I enjoyed bowling here. It can get busy, but that's something they can't control. I wish the website were better because it is not helpful and looks so bad. The employees there are very nice but are overworked, but they need a few more people to work on the weekend's busy days. The arcade is nice, but many games are broken by bad parents' and their terrible kids. I might not return until the arcade is more fixed up because every game felt broken, and there weren't enough machines for the number of kids want
We had our twin boys 7 year old birthday party here and they did a phenomenal job! Great bowling lanes, AMAZING PIZZA, and super friendly staff that helped get us bumped lanes on the bowling lane and recommended two pizzas which was plenty when I was about to buy 3 and would have had enough pizza til the end of time. Lol. The only constructive criticism would be there were quite a few games that were broke or out of order. I'm sure that is another vendor that rents the games out so I'm not taking any st
It was entertaining. I was there for my girlfriends company Christmas party. The food they served was good and there definitely wasn't a shortage of games to play. We bowled a few games, then we explored the arcade. We both had a satisfactory experience there and will recommend it to anyone that's passing through Ames.
Had quite a bit of fun playing golf, it was fairly cold outside, but that isn't in their control. The course itself was seemed fairly short, and simple at a glance, but it proved fairly challenging when I actually played. I visited on a Sunday, so naturally bit was super busy, but the employees were handling it very well, and got us started very quickly.
This visit to perfect games was me, my wife, and my one year old. We only played 1 game, but it was fun. Children under 2 are free so it was about $12. They had a ramp for my son to use and he really enjoyed pushing the ball down it. Great place for family fun. Things that they have that we didn't do... pizza (it's nothing amazing, but it's not bad) and apps, a limited drink selection, laser tag, and an arcade. If I remember right the arcade is a little weird. You get a card that you load money on (not the
Not bad place. Lots of bowling lanes. Those were very nice. They had high tables and 2 little couches per lane. Pizza was really really good, but a bit spendy for just single topping, still worth it. Staff was great and very helpful. Several billards tables Decent arcade area. Lazer tag, but we did not go in there. Also, the soda was free refills on pitchers.
This place is on its last leg. It's understaffed and many of the arcade games are not in working order. Additionally, the kids were not following rules of the jungle gym and no one was there to reinforce. The tables are too high for little kids so unless you plan to bowl, you won't be sitting an under 8 or 9 year old to eat. I also saw kids about 10 or so seated at the bar. This just isn't my cup of tea.
Really fun place for bowling, arcade games, mini golf and laser tag. If I could I would spend the day doing laser tag. 4 people in is the perfect setup. It is just the right size for Frag Tag. Two floors with ramps. It's run and gun fun times. The mini golf is 18 holes and is the standard challenge level. It was pretty enjoyable. I just wish there was a little more shade. Plenty of parking for busy times. They do serve beer. I am not sure about food since we ate before going.
Took my family bowling and we decided on the hourly option. Half of our time ended up being wasted waiting for the pins to re-rack. We watched as all the lanes next to us (who did not pay hourly) had their pins re-racked in seconds, meanwhile ours took 30 seconds to even 1 minute to re-rack between each person. If you are paying the hourly rate, be aware they will purposely put you on a lane where the re-rack takes longer to force you to pay for more time. The lane also shut down on us multiple times (while
Went here to watch a friend do a bowling competition and it was nice inside. The food was actually good as well.
Went to eat and bowl with my wife's coworkers for a holiday get together. Food and service was good but between a private party and leagues open bowling wouldn't be available until nearly 10 PM, we didn't stay. I suggest calling ahead.
This was our first experience and it was great! Pizza was really good, staff was nice, and the arcade is well maintained and seems up to date. LASER TAG was so much fun!! The tag room has a neat layout and the lights/sounds are pretty cool too. I'll definitely go again
Perfect would be an impossible expectation - but half of the games were not working and we spent 20 minutes of our two hours standing in line for refunds on games that were broken with no sign. This place is awfully managed by the owners, and they just don't care. It's also absurdly expensive considering the level of operation and the fact that they have little kids working. If there was any other good place to bowl Ames this place would close in a heartbeat.
I went here for two work gatherings and we all had a great time. All of the entertainment was excellent, but the laser tag was by far everyone's favorite. The food and drinks were also very good. Overall, I definitely recommend checking this place out. Important note: The company I work for payed for everything so I can't personally comment on pricing.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
