Okay so first trip to Solvang ever! I read amazing reviews about this place, and it really good! But to be honest, it wasn't nearly as amazing as people made it sound. It's a GOOD sandwich (I had the Mortadella with everything on it), but a couple notes (this is for me personally: 1) sandwich was PACKED with delicious ingredients, but I didn't feel like they jived together. They tasted separate as opposed to one amazing flavorful bite. 2) the bread was amazing! Truly great, nothing wrong there. 3) Get th

If you haven't tried this place, you need to! The most scrumptious freshly baked bread (in house) for the most delicious sandwiches. My husband had the Godfather and I had the Brady and we were both in heaven. Their baked Dutch bread is to die for! I had to order a few rolls to take home. You won't regret this gem of a restaurant. Bonus is the fantastic arcade connected to the deli with games like vintage TMNT and pinball machines. Will definitely be frequenting this place. Yum!

Amazing food, great service and lovely spot. The Sofia Loren special has got to be one of the most tasty sandwiches I've had. It's a special so if it's there when you go, definitely get it

A grab & go joint from Peasants feast offering phenomenal sandwiches. They also have a great arcade with some classic pinball games, video games and air hockey. Great for the whole family. The sandwiches are pretty big and could definitely be split for a smaller eater.

I've already shared this on Yelp, but I'll share here again too. These are perhaps some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I can't even begin to describe the flavors, but the combination of ingredients in the sandwiches were perfect. My friends and I shared "The Godfather" and also "Chopped Italian Sandwich", and we were thoroughly impressed. The deli is a small spot with some limited seating in the shop, but there is an additional arcade area where there is more seating available. I believe Sarah, on

I stopped here and got an amazing pastrami sandwich. Ingredients were great and delicious, I highly recommend.

Had there smoked turkey, didn't like the pepper sauce they put in it. Personally thought it overtook the flavor of the rest of the sandwich

Two part review: 1st.) ordered the Kobe roast beef sandwich. Generally it was amazing. All of the ingredients complement each other well. The star of the show is the Kobe beef. It was Smokey and all of flavors balance out the sandwich. Horseradish hit/creamy ness from the aioli, the nutty ness from the cheese, and a good crunch from the bread. We swapped for lettuce but the arugula would provide a good bite of bitterness for the sandwich. 2.) I split the sandwich with my Fiance, my sandwich was great but

We were waiting for our table at Peasants Feast when we walked across to street to look into the Peasants Deli. We quickly changed our minds and decided on the deli, over the sit-down restaurant. What a great decision. Even tho we had several people in our group we were able to find seating on the indoor and outdoor tables. Between us, we order just about all the sandwich options available. And we can confidently say we made the right choice with the deli over the Feast restaurant. I got the hot pastrami sa

Some of the finest sandwiches I've ever had the privilege to eat. And the tuna sandwich in particular is a truly unique and special treat that is not to be missed (made with boquerones!). Almost everything is made in house or is of the highest quality. I had the pleasure of being rung up by the head chef who was so relaxed and great to talk with. I can't wait to return to Solvang to come back here and to try the sister restaurant Peasant's Feast!

Very delicious deli sandwich. It's a good size sandwich that you can share if you are not too hungry. Fast service and the price is reasonable. Highly recommend it.

This place had the best Reuben I ever had! It was so good that before we left we came back and bought two more and took them home with us.

Mushroom sandwich was bomb. The godfather sandwich was good but the mushroom was better. Mushroom sandwich all the way.

I got The Godfather and the sandwich was absolutely delicious. Next time I'm in Solvang I'll definitely make it a point to stop by. The staff was very friendly and greeted me as if i had been going for years. Only small complaint I have is I wish they had more options for drinks are far as ice tea or lemonade.

One of the best Rueben's I've had!

We all loved the food, plus indoor/outdoor seating, super nice staff, good acoustics, and an all-around great vibe.

Yummy lunch outdoor seating. Kids enjoyed the small arcade.

great service. the owner is very nice and the food was excellent. they make their own pastrami

We did takeout on 2 sandwiches to take to our next winery tasting, The Godfather (cacciatorino salami, coppa, mortadella, smoked provolone, sweet & spicy pepper relish) and the Pastrami Ruben (pastrami - house brined, smoked and steamed, peppercorn and coriander crusted beef brisket, sauerkraut, Emmental cheese, secret sauce). Both are very good sandwiches however I felt The Godfather was the better of the two sandwiches. Will definitely order from here again.

This was the best pastrami sandwich ever! Pastrami was amazing. Had the NY style sandwich. Rye bread extras made for a wonderful sandwich.

The Reuben I ate here was the best Reuben I have ever had! The butcher smokes & brines the meat for 24 hours...the craftsmanship is next level...we need more people like him! Thank you again and can't wait to come back!

Happened to stumble upon this deli walking around the North end of Solvang. We just grabbed one sandwich for 2 of us and was genuinely surprised. Also tried the celery soda which paired perfectly with the pastrami (The Brady). The ratio and flavor of meat, mustard, pickles, onion, bread was amazing. 10/10 would recommend! We will be back went we visit Solvang again.

Great sandwiches! Fresh bread, thinly sliced and yum salami but what steals the show is the Spicy relish. I wish I could take some of it back home with me. Definitely going to come back to try the other sandwiches on my next visit. The staff is very hospitable.

Probably the best pastrami I have had in 10 years. And I love Ruben sandwiches. They said making the pastrami in-house takes 4 days. A wonderful little shop.

Possibly the best pastrami I have ever tasted.

The sandwiches are sooo good!!! We drive 45 minutes once a week to get sandwiches!!! Everything on the menu is good. You won't be disappointed!

I am not a sandwich lover, but the sandwiches here are fabulous! Roast beef and horse radish - sign me up!!! My husband loved the Godfather too. Perfect stop between wine tasting and shopping.

I love everything about this locally owned business! Every time I have a sandwhich from their deli I catch myself saying it's the best sandwhich I've ever had... It is seriously such a gem for lunch in Solvang! Highly recommend!

There's something about doing the simple things right. The ratios, the bread? the freaking shredded lettuce! My wife and I stopped in for a sandwich and we're not disappointed. It was fresh and delicious. Michael is super cool and as friendly as can be? can't wait to stop by again.

If you want The Best Deli Sandwich you have ever had, By Far, this is your place! Wow, Wow what goes into their pastrami is a 2 week process and it is the best you will ever taste!

Peasants Deli is a real find in a sea of so so restaurants. The quality of ingredients, the innovative recipes are a delicious surprise. This is a favorite of mine!!

We stopped there for a quick lunch and the Kobe roast beef was great and the staff was very thoughtful.

Kobe beef on Dutch crunch answers the deepest question of the universe.

Three different sandwiches, and all 3 of us said it was the best sandwich we have ever had. Unreal!

Pastrami was heavenly! I don't have a picture because I ate it so fast. Also ate a Cubano, it was divine and I no I don't have a picture ??

Very good fresh meats. Not your average sandwich. But the bread was really tough on the tuna and godfather...

The Godfather sandwich was amazing! Highly recommend

Way over priced for an OK sandwich - certainly nothing spectacular. The bread was too hard and the sandwiches came dry with no dressing. Disappointed!

Really good sandwiches with large portions. The staff is also very kind.

Kobe beef sandwich on sesame seed sourdough bun. ... amazing yum yum

Simply amazing it the turkey sandwich blew my mind I'd sell my kidney for another one.

Waiting for sandwiches should not take forever. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

So delicious, I just wish there was more seating

Amazing sandwich and service!

Phantastic the God father was greatb

Extremely overpriced for a sandwich.

10/10 Italian sandwich

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
