The beach bar is one of the best places in Pittsburgh to see bands. Very chill atmosphere. It's a beach in Pittsburgh for real check it out

Fun place for a kid?s birthday party. Private party rooms with multiple food/package options. Eight bowling lanes on the smaller side (this is where you bowl for a kid?s party) and 16 additional lanes on the other side. Bar/eating area. Some arcade games throughout. Cool place!

Great place to bring the whole family or friends. Also, taking a date works well, too. They got 24 bowling lanes, an arcade, 8 axe throwing lanes, and a huge bar and seating area. They also have a seasonal outside beach bar and restaurant. Staff was friendly, and prices were reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

Expensive drinks & took a while to come to us. The lane was sticky I couldn't find my groove. The display was the only thing captivating in there.

Love love love. Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere!

Staff was friendly. Free parking. We found seats at the bar until it was time to play. Games card machines not operable at the time of our visit so you could not get a card to play any games. Manager informed us that they could not get a technician out to service it. We did get on the waiting list to bowl and that was fine. They had paid play darts you could sign up to play after signing a waiver. It was super crowded naturally on a chilly Saturday night as expected. College crowd vibe. Overall just okay.?

The place is really nice. Although, on weekend nights its a little expensive. You buy Lane time by the hour at about $50/hour. We needed 10 more minutes to finish a game, which they granted However, the lane broke down and needed a tech to fix, which took up about 6 minutes of that time. I asked if they could add back that time and they said no because the lane was rented so we couldn't finish that game. We stuck around for about 10 minutes after we were finished and the lane wasn't in use during that time

Went here for Father?s Day! This place is very big and spacious. They also have axe throwing, volleyball outside. They have a lot of things to do here. The staff was very friendly. We had a blast

The bowling was fun, easy check in when you reserve online. Only 1 server only in the bowling area. She was nice, could have used 1 more. Sat in the bar area after bowling- no server, had to ask a manager for server. Order chicken nachos (would have been good- chicken super dry and cakes) queso was freezing cold. Got a large pizza, it was not good. Server was nice and apologized. Need more serving staff. Won't be back for awhile.

We had a company outing at paradise island bowl and really enjoyed it. We got pizza, tenders, Onion rings and mozzarella sticks. The food was decent. There's plenty of lanes available and the arcade was pretty cool. They also offer axe throwing. They also have a full bar if you're into that! We had fun!

Good price for bowling deals. I was surprised at how good the food was. I had a sample platter. Everything was tasty. Activities were well spaced out, allowing room to move freely around. Lots to do there, I plan to definitely go back

I've been going to this place since when my kids were little and it has evolved so much over the years. It has really changed for the better with all the upgrades. From the standard bowling to axe throwing. It is a fantastic place to have parties as there's plenty f space, they cater the food and the service is always good. Recently we had a Christmas party there as everyone wanted a place to congregate and have some fun at the same time. No stuffy Christmas party here. For years we would play hockey across

We love going to Paradise Island Bowl and Beach. We enjoy the kids arcade, good beer selection, ability to dock your boat and come up to the beach bar. Oh and they have bowling too.

This place rocks. The staff was so so nice we had Jessica and she was literally amazing. Best vibes no stress and she was so kind!!! 10/10 recommend this place. The food was pretty good. The fried zucchini was sooo bomb! Really fun bowling alley and there's a spot to walk down to the river and there's a sandy space w tables and pretty lights outside to hangout at!!

Spent two hours bowling here with my partner. Very nice bowling Alley with plenty of activities. Did not get food, but looked like there were plenty of options. Free water for patrons. Nice updated screens for bowling and scoring. Very clean. There is a space outside by the river for summer events that looks very nice. Overall very nice place and time spent here.

Fun place to dock your boat and get a great meal. Sandy beach setting makes you feel like you're in the tropics. Great place for a fun and delicious meal.

Never bowled over 200 til I bowled here so 5 stars. These lanes made me better then I should be lol

Great place, fun bowling. New Machines (string pinsetters). Actually really good pizza for a bowling alley standard. Good Beer tap list too!

Typically these are some of the best garlic parm wings in the area. Yesterday on friday march 21st 2025, at 3:37 i ordered 12 garlic parm wings and a fish sandwich for my mom. However, my first call was ignored for 50 rings and not picked up. I had to call back and go through the extension system again. I assumed that because it was fish friday that it was busy but i finally got through and placed my order. I was told 20 minutes and i left to go pick up my wings immediately. It was a GHOST TOWN and the chic

Met daughter and family for bowling. We put our name in at 1245. Finally got a text at 2. We already spent time at arcade and had a pizza. Didn't get to bowl, but enjoyed time at the arcade. Lot of new stuff. Pizza wasn't bad. Liked the sauce

We had a work event here, there was something for everyone, between bowling, axe throwing, darts, and the virtual reality video game a good time was had by all. The staff was friendly and kept the drinks coming while we enjoyed pizza, wings, and nachos.

We went for the axe throwing. It was fun, but annoying that we had an ?axepert? with us the whole time telling us what to do. We just wanted to have fun. To top it off. This said ?axepert? couldn't stick the axe and wanted to tell us what to do

Poor experience! Not sure why they treated us the way they did. Very rude and condescending. No one waited on us for 25 minutes. I literally live across the street and wont spend any of my money there again. My fiance is hispanic and my children are biracial maybe thats the reason they never waited on us. We left never to return again.

Fun times at Paradise Island! We had dinner, played darts, and the kids did the virtual reality game! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food was great and we had great time at this family friendly place! Highly Recommended!

Really cool concept and ambiance. Plenty of docking space. Given it's sand perhaps it's difficult to keep clean, but we got there 15 minutes after they opened and it looked like no one cleaned up from the night before. I would still go again.

Beware! DO NOT BOOK A PARTY! We hosted a 13th party and were told we couldn't ?reserve? a lane unless we booked a party package (otherwise, first come first serve). We had an estimate of 11-13 girls and booked a ?pizza bar? package ($24.95/bowler +15% gratuity). No one from the Paradise island followed up asking for a final count. We showed up on a Sunday and the place was empty. We ended up with a total of five kids a birthday girl. The staff and hostess were very friendly and helpful. We were provide

They have about everything you need for one-stop fun. They have a bar for the adults, arcade games for the kids (or adults, too ??), and even a prize counter to turn in earned points! It's definitely a place I enjoy returning to when I want a good time.

Update 7/31/2021: Went out again on Saturday afternoon and while the seating, view are great the food qualify was significant subpar. Only one waitress serving the many tables. they are understaffed and food was burned (pizza crust mostly burned), filly steak meat the same too. Food quality appears to be a little inconsistent. Great place to take the kids or just go with friends for different set of fun activities. We enjoyed our largely sized appetizers and kids meal was really good. The beach was still c

Great setting and comfortable. Live music on select days. Great variety of food and drinks. Prices are reasonable. Overall a must stop. Great sunset veiw.

The newly remodeled bar, Axe Throwing area, and arcade is a great improvement. I haven't been to this place in years but I was very impressed with my latest visit. The food was also really good. Me and friends tried out an hour session of the Axe Throwing. The staff member hung out and guided us on how to play and overall safety. They were really nice and fun to hang out with as well. 5 star experience.

We booked a kids birthday party here. Ava was our party host and she was awesome. She made it really easy and I think I told her several times that she made it worth the money. The kids had a ton of fun. I only did 4 stars, as I had to follow up the Friday before with questions. No one had reached out for final count and I wanted to confirm that we were good to go. I did get a quick response back that was friendly and able to answer all my questions. I would recommend for an easy birthday party!

Fun, did axes, and had great food, I'll be coming through here when I come back to town. All the way from the Gulf Coast

Food was good, lanes are really nice and they have axe throwing if you need to vent some frustration ?? Fun place to bring the kids on a cold rainy day.

First experience there I liked it alot food needs big improvement that was me and my families biggest complaint expensive ans very unappealing

This spot offers the perfect blend of relaxation and fun, making it an ideal place to kick back with family and friends. The casual atmosphere creates a welcoming vibe, complemented by delicious food and a well-rounded bar selection. Whether you're here for a meal or just to enjoy drinks, it's a great place to unwind and enjoy good company.

We had a awesome time at this place,, outside Band,, from food to drinks,, great service,, fun fun fun,, the parking is very good,, everyone there is great,, friendly,, dancing on the beach,, burgers,, fries,, hoagies,, the inside bowling lanes look fantastic,, also have a arcade,, summer fun,, or first time at this place,, we love it,,, I recommend this place to everyone... they even have little palm trees ??

Fantastic bowling center. They have an arcade, a axe throwing area as well as an outdoor area. They have multiple bowling league options including one where you get your own bowling ball.

Lanes are not solid wood so it's a bit different but still fun bartender 5 stars for sure.

Very nice place along the river, cabanas, firepits, place for beach volleyball, outdoor dining in a couple of places, a couple outdoor bars very friendly staff, also has boat dock for river access

Great bartenders who made the best drinks. I had a veggie pizza and it was full of flavor including the cheese sticks and wings. They were very accommodating for the host of a birthday party I went to. The beach part down near the river was closed due to lightning and thunder which was a bummer. I will definitely be going back and likely over the Labor Day weekend. Thanks Paradise Island for a GREAT EVENING ??

Crowded but not a bad place. They could use another bartender on shift. Had fun though

Great time. Good place to bowl

Staff was courteous and helpful. Lots of activities to do. Even had a classic car show in the parking lot.

This place is terrific and consistently works to improve their guest experience. So impressed with the staff and the location...especially the bowling!

Food was absolutely exceptional! We had garlic parm wings, fried zucchini, fish sandwich & nachos....so delish! Ax throwing is always fun, I had one drink & no food. But we had a blast

Food could be good but tastes like cleaning supplies like they're touching your food after they clean the counters

Fun place ??. Food and drinks are great. I would give 5 stars except the pins have strings tied to them to set them back up. The strings affect your accuracy.

Well. It looks fun and impressive. It wasn't busy so we thought this would go smoothly. But the food takes hours. Doesn't taste good when you finally get it. Ordered buffalo chicken fries and they tasted very strange, almost plastic-y. We didn't get cups for drinks until after our food came. Kids did have fun at arcade. We didn't bowl so I can't speak to that portion. Food is expensive. $15+for a salad. $17 for 10 shrimp and a side. Waitress struggled with taking our group, splitting check at the end but sh

Just remodeled.. but the beach bar has no entertainment.. why waist the remodel.. it's empty so far every Friday because there's no bands or even a DJ. Get it together. Beach bar is much nicer then before, fun place, menu and food is alright, used to have a better variety. Now a menu that is acceptable for a bar but nothing to write home about. Deff a fun place to stop for sure. Docking is better, but no power on the dock for boats or enough cleats to tie up.

Yes, this is a fun place to go to but you better be prepared to pay double or triple of what you usually pay for bowling. This place is way too over priced.

Hidden gem!!!! So many things to do. Great place for first date, family time or just to chill. Can't wait to go back

Stopped in on a Wednesday evening with my family and had a terrific time. Small arcade which was perfect for my 3 year old with special needs. It was just enough to keep him occupied for an hour or so, without spending a fortune like you do at larger arcades. My older boys had fun too. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Strongly recommend the Tots & Fondue and the Western Burger. Our server, Nadine, was incredible. Super friendly and always had a smile. My 6 year old even said he was her favorit

We really enjoy Paradise Island Bowling. We had a birthday party there and have visited as a family many times. It's very clean, lots of ball options, easy to use lane systems, ball slides for the kids to use. The arcade is smaller but plenty to do for most little boys. The pizza is meh. I would not recommend it. Service is pretty good. The servers are on top of everything. Very polite and available. The individuals behind the front desk are less so. We've waited (on a few occasions) over 4 minutes for a g

Ample parking, modern bowling technology, and fun layout and mix of more than just bowling. We are very amateur bowlers so all the rental stuff was fine. Clean, not old, and perfectly serviceable for us. The service was outstanding. Front desk was decent but the servers at the lanes were great. Never had to look for them always around. Food is average but came out very quickly which is great with kids. Prices at checkout surprised me a bit. Seemed a little high but we had a great time. So maybe once or t

Drinks were good. Bowling was fun and arcade games were even more awesome. We had a very fun time!!! We didn't get to play with the axes but definitely will next time around. The food was delicious. ????

My boyfriend and I recently celebrated my birthday at Paradise Island bowling alley. We were excited to try out the different activities that the place had to offer, and we had a great time playing our game. However, we found the instructions regarding food and other details to be unclear and confusing. We ended up finishing our game before we even got our food, which was frustrating. We didn't want to pay for two hours for the two of us, as we were planning on doing other activities as well. While we unde

I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Paradise Island Bowl and Beach. The workers are Racist and accused me of wanting a free party and free service when I all I asked is for some organization, correct information and pricing, respect and human decency. The workers from the party host to the apparent ?owner? who I don't even believe is the owner they just refuse to tell me who the actual owner is so I can take this higher up was so unprofessional and disrespectful with a nasty attitude toward a pa

I understand a weekend can be busy but the fact that our waitress (Tam) and management can accuse us of leaving on a tab is inexcusable. Our night started fine until half of my parties food was over 35 min late, then the waitress said she'd grab the manager to take that off the bill. Never saw him in person until the time for us to leave was there. Over an hour and a half later when we were ready with our boxes to leave the waitress accused us of walking out on our tab.. meanwhile I handed her $30 cash whe

Went out for a beautiful afternoon to Paridise Bowl on Neville Island and had a very nice time sitting outside overlooking the river, watching the boats go by!! Jim our waiter was new but very attentive, knowledgeable and a really nice person!! We had some cold beers and appetizers that were great!!

First time there for a Greyhound event. Never knew it existed, very cool place. I need to go there just to go enjoy and see it from an entertainment side. Wings and pizza were very good.

Nice lanes, but has to be the WORST pizza in town. Frozen pizza is better than this

We had a great time axe throwing... Brenden was axcellent! ??

I recently hosted a client appreciation party here. Ian and his team were top notch throughout the whole process. Including him editing my slide for the event. We couldn't be happier with how everything went. THANK YOU! - Matt Gillespie

Went to establishment for a girls night. Waitress ignored me and refused service entire evening me despite being seated in a cabana with 5 other people. I waited 45 minutes to be served my first drink and the waitress gave me the wrong drink. Despite serving the rest of the party after aprox 15 minutes. Then the waitress gave the entire party except for me 2 free drinks. I wound up having to go to the bar and order my drinks then the waitress tried to double charge me for things despite me paying at the

Great place! Friendly staff, good food and wonderful atmosphere! Really well placed for Pittsburgh!

went this past Fri July 19th for the 1st to enjoy a few hours of staycation and had a great time! Came with some friends and staff member Ian, was kind enough to get us into a Cabana that was available, even though we didn't have one reserved. We loved the vibe! Food was great, service was great, music was great (Random Play always brings the party) and loved the atmosphere. So much so that we already rsvp'd a Cabana for this Sunday afternoon to enjoy the reggae vibes of Ras Prophet!

Definitely had a good time. Can't wait to go back.

Great Lanes and Game Room. Pool Tables. Very clean. Food and Bar.

Great bowling alley! Limited games for those kiddos who don't want to bowl, bring quarters for those few games! Alley is clean and food is excellent. Beer is cold and we'll priced. Easy, plentiful parking...

I was only outside on a beautiful day so I can't rate anything inside. The service is good, but they didn't have any hard cider at the bar. Come on what's up with that?

super clean place including the shoes as well as the lanes. the decor is updated & not terribly tacky. modern tvs. friendly staff. decent prices. bar food & drinks offered.

I had a Birthday party here for my wife after we had a pleasant time here during a work event. This is a wonderful place to have a get-together or party. I couldn't be happier, and neither could my wife or family. The event planner was amazing, the staff was so nice and everything was as perfect as it could get. Very reasonable too. Thank you so much :)

We went there for our daughters birthday ...we had great fun ...it was $8.50 per person wth the rental shoes for one hour game ....our daughters played the VR too for $8.50 per person for a 5 minute game....food n drinks are decently priced....n they are doing great with the sanitization and social distancing ...we might go there again ...????????

Shoes need cleaned better, other than that it's great.

Super nice bowling alley. Awesome colored private lanes. Good ball selection and shoes. Only real complaint is how HOT it was. I don't know if they just didn't turn on the air conditioning but my whole group was sweating within an hour of being there. Regardless, had a blast and will definitely come back. (Also drinks are super expensive but food is well priced)

Love the beach scene with tables, bar, food, entertainment, volleyball... If you replaced with white sand and some palm trees, in summer it would be Florida! Great job

UPDATE: I CHANGED THIS TO FOUR STARS BECAUSE THE MANAGER QUICKLY CALLED ME, REFUNDED A FAIR AMOUNT OF THE CHARGES AND PROFUSELY APOLOGIZED FOR THE SITUATION. HE SAID HE CHECKED THEIR CAMERAS AND SPOKE WITH THE ATTENDANT TO SEE THAT THEY INDEED DROPPED THE BALL AND THAT IS NOT HOW THE WANT TO DO BUSINESS. AS STATED IN THE INITIAL REVIEW, THIS IS A NICE PLACE AND NOW THEY HAVE REGAINED MY CONFIDENCE IN THEIR STRIVE FOR GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give a zero, I would! We had a birthday party there

A good place to hang around with friends for drinks.

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed the whole time and was messing up our drink orders. She would only come over to our table every 20 minutes or so. It would?ve been nice if they made the beach section no smoking as well. Perfect place for smokers but non-smokers have to sit and suffer.

Great bowling. Honestly felt kind of bummed out by the lack of video games. But the bowling was fun. Bartender seemed very?uh scattered and wasn't very up paced. We wasted most of our bowling time trying to wait for our drinks.

We bowled and played at the arcade but could definitely see spending more time there to do all of the activities! Food and drinks were great as well!

They did a great job when they remodeled this place. We had a fun time at axe throwing. It's cool how they can project different targets up on the wood for a variety of games! The place was PACKED on a Saturday night at 8pm. The bowling lanes look nice, and they have a pretty good menu of food and drinks. Will return.

This place has so much to offer! Fun for the kids and the adults. Excellent wings! A little something for everyone.

Pretty good experience! 2 hours of bowling for $17. The only downside is that the alley was out of order for the first 15 minutes.

Great beach bar. Be sure to ask for a cocktail menu, they have some decent drinks on there. I have never been here at night but it is nice during the day. An added bonus, you can swim off of the boat dock at the river. Not sure how much they appreciate it. Food is pretty good as well. Simple bar food. Chicago dogs are excellent. All and all a good spot for some food and drinks, and even good for the kids.

Online Tuesday deal is $29/hr/lane for bowling. He charged $45/hr/lane saying due to holiday week ( i went on 1/2/24) promotions are not there. Nowhere it is mentioned their website promotions don't work for the first week of January. After bowling took Hack throwing game for $10/person for 15 minutes for 4 people and paid $40 in total. And they gave 15 minutes for the whole group and not 15 minutes for each individual. They say something and do something. Confirm everything over the phone and go there b

Lowkey? Food is good. Idk what this staff is about tho. I straight up got ignored...? And the staff guy went to go talk with his friends instead of doing his job...? Even though he totally saw me. I felt ignored :(

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
