I have to say the Ole Mule Axes and fun did not disappoint this evening. We stopped in for our first time to grab dinner. My husband had the Hillbilly Heart Attack and raved it was Delicious!!!! I had the Donkey Punch Burger. I have to say it's the BEST burger I've had anywhere around here in our area !!!! GOOD SERVICE very clean. My hats off to the cooks. We also tried out the Race Car it's really cool!!! If you haven't stopped it to check it out for yourself, I highly recommend that you do & take your cre

We're absolutely loving The Ole Mule! This family-friendly gem has stolen our hearts with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and attentive, always checking in to ensure we have everything we need. My 6-year-old is obsessed and begs to go back every day! Plus, the prices are very reasonable. We can't recommend The Ole Mule enough - it's a true treasure!

One of Rolla?s and the Phelps County areas hidden gems most definitely. The Ole Mule Trading building has been an iconic landmark on old Route 66 for decades. It's great to see Bobby and Nikki bring it to life and keep traditions alive. Axe throwing, golf simulator, a full size NASCAR racing sim, pool, darts, and all sorts of other games to keep you entertained for hours. And let's not forget the amazing food! Farm fresh beef straight from their own farm, can't beat that! Laid back atmosphere, plenty of roo

Brought the family in for Father's Day and everyone had a blast! What a cool spot! The burgers were phenomenal and the kids absolutely loved the axe throwing! If you're looking for some good "ole" family fun and some great food - be sure to check these guys out!

Really fun place! We saw it while driving by after having dinner and stopped in because it looked interesting. The staff were SO friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained, too. Axe throwing, pool, darts, slots, claw machines, etc. Definitely coming back!

We had a blast throwing axes, which I've never done before, and the guys did the nascar simulator. Drinks were good, owners were very nice. We will be back

Great place! Come check them out! The food is amazing. Lots of fun for all. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.

We love the mule. Bobby Nikki and staff are all amazing, All the food on the menu is great, farm fresh beef burgers are arguably the best burger in town. Activities are great axe throwing and golf simulator are super fun. Definitely a great spot for a local date night.

Love this place, a great place to have a family night out or a date night. Lots of fun stuff to do and great staff and owners. We had our son?s graduation party here and could not of asked for a better place to celebrate at.

During the day it would be a bit more family friendly but they do have slot machines and their alcohol license. We went as a date in the even hours 730 pm. At that time it had a bar feel about it.

So we showed up with a big group I don't feel this place Is geared For big groups who want to eat there and do other things the food was good. I'm not gonna say the food wasn't good but when we got there, we did finally get to order and we had to ask to get our drinks after we sat there for about 15-20 minutes with no drinks. I know they were having some trouble in the kitchen that night, but food did not come out. Part of us got our food and others had to sit there for quite some time without any food and

Amazing food! FAMILY ATMOSPHERE Axe throwing. Golf simulator. Darts. Pool table. Adult beverages. Casino machines. Trinkets and so much more!!!! Get a bent penny with a mule on it!

Fun times throwing axes. Neat place. The only thing I didn't like was when an employee and customer stepped just outside the side door and smoked. The wind blew it right in and it made it kinda hard to breathe. Other than that, it was fun!

By far the greatest family friendly establishment this area has seen for a while! Food is AMAZING! It's a must try for all ages.

This is just what our area needed! The food is amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Lots of things to do and we will be back!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
