We had an absolute blast at Octane in Scottsdale! Our whole management team came out for a little team bonding, and it couldn't have been more fun. From start to finish, the energy, the staff, and the experience were top-tier. It was the perfect mix of adrenaline and laughter?definitely a memory-maker. Highly recommend for any team outing or just a fun day with friends!

Octane Raceway is an absolute blast! This place is awesome. There is so much to do here - from go-kart racing, axe throwing, a virtual reality arena, an arcade, plus a full bar and kitchen as well. Seriously, something for everyone! Came here for a work event, and everyone had a great time. We played the Virtual Reality and had so much fun! If you're into zombies, you have to play Outbreak! I definitely recommend trying the VR if you've never done it before, it's intense, and so life like. Plus, you get a

If I lived in Scottsdale I would be here everyday. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Very clean environment that is welcoming to all groups. Carts are very well maintained and track is very clean as well.

This is a huge place that has so much potential if it was managed better! The race track could have been fun, however the kids that work there just let there friends and girlfriend drive over and over and then they continuously bump you and run you into the walls on the track. They came with their own helmet, gloves and go pro so they really thought they were professionals (insert eye roll). Talking about the helmets, oh man are they disgusting!! They don't wash them at all (we watched as we took it off and

So much fun for a night out with the guys. Of course, it's as expensive for a few hours as a day at Disneyland, but for a special occasion, lots of fun!

Incredibly fun track, and challenging. The karts are in great condition, never felt disadvantaged, even starting at the back. The staff was friendly while prioritizing efficiency and safety. Matt kept the groups moving along with gusto, big kudos to that guy. Everyone else was on point, as well. The whole experience was 100% awesome, and I'll definitely be coming back!

My son and his friends had fun. 4 teens cost $150 on a Saturday. The race car lasted about 12 minutes Wish it was a little longer for the price but I understand how it works.. If you follow me. Then you know I'm going to have a drink lol. Per usual I purchased a Strawberry margarita. It came out to about $11

It is a little pricey, but totally worth it. If your child meets the height requirements and qualify under a certain time in the "JR" carts, they can race the "adult" carts. Which my 14-year-old daughter was able to qualify to race the adult carts. Needless to say, we had a blast. The adult carts are actually pretty darn fast to where you are gripping the steering wheel, and the adrenaline gets to pumping. I figured out a little hack to almost always get first place in whatever heat I am in. This was a gre

I got to experience the high speed electric go carts here and it was a great experience. When I say ? high speed? that is exactly what I mean. It will throw you back in your seat. We also did the axe throwing for an hour and arcades. We had a great time with everything.

I had part of my bachelor party here and I'm hooked so we're all my guests! We're definitely coming back for more it's so much fun!

Was a little frustrating when the entirety of our race(s) we were asked to ?move over? for the insanely fast & incredibly dangerous drivers. There were too many of them on the track to safely avoid even ?moving over?. The way they were driving was shocking. I seen one guy get multiple drinks (more than 2) at the bar & then drive in both our races. Driving erratic. I was hit from behind at an alarmingly high speed even with a helmet on. . . despite ?moving over? to the right side. The insanely fast & neck t

Octane Racing was an absolute blast. I've only ever used gas-powered go-karts before, so the electric ones were a new experience for me. But like anyone that drives an electric car knows, they're fast, responsive, and so much fun. The track itself was exciting and well-designed, totally worth the price. If there's one thing I wish I'd known earlier, it's how quickly this place fills up. Do yourself a favor and book 2 or 3 races upfront. It might seem a little pricey at first, but trust me you'll regret not

We joined friends here for an early afternoon into evening action packed fun ? fun ? fun memorable competitive racing excursion. Ah yes, Justin ? we won the bet & all drinks on your tab buddy! Also, first time we'd ever actually thrown axes and it felt surprisingly good ? a bit of a workout ? like we were back in time in the mountains somewhere ? new found appreciation for the strength of those guys. We're off to the jacuzzi next. Ok, when you come here ... get ready for an exciting time!

I'm very disappointed with the fact that they double charged my debit card I had an overdraft fee accidents happen I understand that but I tried emailing I left a message and no one has returned my call and I am still in limbo because it is pending and I am a single father with limited resources and could barely afford to take my kids go-karting as it is I understand things happen but the fact that nobody can get back to me or address this is very disappointing

This place was so fun. Decor made from the hoods of racecars hung from the ceiling and walls. The seats were made from tire rims. It is a very emersive environment. They sanitize the helmets very well in between races. The race cars are electric and the track winds inside and outside with plenty of viewing places.

Took my 16 year old son here for his birthday. Loved the high speed go karts. We did several races, each time we only got 13 laps instead of 14, due to ?staff? racing against us (on their off days). They were obviously expert drivers and whipped everyone else, but they weren't mean or bumped us out of the way. We talked to th afterwards and they were friendly. 4 stars instead of 5 because they were there all day, I think when staff rides they shouldn't count their laps so we get what we paid for. Also did A

Very fun!! The high-speed carts are impressive. They do have your racing that dials the speed down which was still a blast.

Just completed the VR experience with my two boys. Ton of fun, totally interactive and enjoyable. While we all agree it's on the pricey side, it's worth it. Highly memorable experience for all of us.

This place isn't just for kids. We went on an adult triple date and it was so fun. There was something for everyone. Huge TVs, food, several bars, adult and family friendly.

I had an event here. The planner and manager are very friendly and nice. Would recommend for any larger event. Quick fast friendly service. The arcade is nice , but the go karts are nicer. Fun for everyone, and the little print of the times after the games are a nice touch too

We recently visited Octane Raceway to use the two races we were gifted for our birthdays, and we had a blast! Our group of four enjoyed the excitement and challenge of the race. The staff was friendly and the facility was well-maintained. However, there were a couple of drawbacks that led to my four-star rating. The racetrack is quite narrow, making it extremely difficult to pass other drivers. Even when other racers are asked to move over, passing is nearly impossible. Additionally, I found that the seat b

Great place to visit. We were in town for my daughter's pageant. We were looking for something that our kids could do. We found this place and the kids loved it. If you are from out of town or in town I would recommend this place for you and your family

So much fun and speed! Just less fun when there's a rowdy group that bumps you a lot. But can't help others!

Angel and Brianna went above and beyond to help me register and reserve races for a small birthday celebration for my son and his 7 friends. Highly recommend. Kids already looking forward to next visit. Thank you for everything.

We came here for the first time and did three adult races and a VR experience. The races were a blast, and the zombie survival vr was awesome. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. After all the fun, we sat in the bar and ordered an alley sampler, and had some lemonades. The bar tender was awesome, too. Seems like all of the employees enjoy working there because it shows in their customer service. We will definitely be back to this place. I just wish there was one in Tucson because we would come

Great staff ! Great food ! Fast cars ! _What more ya need huh? : )

Had a great time here! Visited on a Monday afternoon and we were able to race amongst just ourselves which was a pleasant surprise - especially given we were new to it so I was a bit nervous! The staff was really wonderful I have to say. Check in staff was helpful, set up staff was friendly and helpful. Wish the prices were a bit more approachable - but really had a great time so def recommend checking it out if you want an adrenaline rush!

We had a corporate event, and it was super fun to play against your coworkers. Definitely recommend!

Been a titanium member for a long time. Place is hit or miss. Pricing has significantly increased making this a much harder to fund activity. Most recent tournament experience was awful. Called 3 times on different days and no one picked up or returned my call. Website is awful and out of date. The VR experience is really cool and the track itself is nice. Customer service side has just tanked lately.

Karts and track were fun fast and zippy. Score card machine was down. Otherwise it's close to a K1 racing

Customer service is non-existent. Called the number on their website a dozen times and left messages without any response. Booked online and needed to ask some questions. Go karts are fun.

Fun! The trick is to hold back out of the pack to get the best time. Staff does that thing that young people today do of directing you to a tablet instead of actually helping you. Super annoying. The guy running the track was fun and helpful though.

First I want to say the staff was very courteous and helpful. However, if you're coming for a casual date night and trying something new, I wouldn't recommend this. My wife and I got stuck with a bunch of guys who clearly take go-karting a bit too serious and kind of brought down the experience for my wife and I. Probably won't come back. Clean facilities and great staff though.

My son had such a great time racing go-karts. It was his second time and he is so excited to brag to his friends that for one of the races he came in first place and got to pose with the trophy

Great little indoor go cart track. As a youth you will want to try and qualify to run as an adult through a simple process and a couple of races. Adult qualification gets you quicker cart and a few more laps per race.

This was a cool team building place. We got some good lunch, did some axe throwing and arcade while waiting for our lineup. Short wait and they get you into a go-cart and ready to go. The track is fast paced, if a little clogged. Good turns and straightaways. Helpful staff too.

I've been wanting to come visit since I first found out about it. They have one race, two race, and three race plans. It felt daunting that one race is 14 laps or so so we opted for that but next time, we'll do the three race because the races go by very fast! Super fun experience. The staff were very nice too. Everything was very clean and upkept. Additionally, they have bowling, and video game arcade

Cars were on point. Sadly when it came to racing, the employees did not enforce rules. Slower cars were not flagged or instructed to move. Other cars kept crashing into you and nothing was said to them. It was fun, but frustrating having your times ruined by bad drivers that didn't get warned even once.

We go for the Axe Throwing! It's a ton of fun for a date night! An hour of axe throwing, some delicious and reasonably priced drinks and snacks, friendly staff. It's always a good time!

We went for my husbands birthday and purchased 3 races each for a party of 5. There were people who work there racing as well as others who obviously go there all the time. These people bump in to you constantly and have no consideration for others. The first lap is suppose to be a practice race and no passing well the workers just let that slide right by as they passed and bumped into other racers while passing. The manager was understanding and credited 1 of our races as we were fed up with no one reprima

So let me start out by saying that they at least made it right! We made online reservations and paid in advance for 4 junior races for my daughters 15th birthday. I received confirmation emails and the reservation did not show up in their system when we got here. They said we were the second people today to have this happen. So their online reservation system is not reliable. They squeezed our kids into a later race but they even said it will be an overcrowded track. But there wasn't a choice as we h

We participated in the Virtual Reality. It was the most incredible experience we ever did and I highly recommend it. It was amazing and well worth the money and want to do again.

Omgosh, what a blast. This was a perfect activity to do with the kids! Even coming in at last place didn't matter. Lol.

We spent a couple of hours at this place and had a lot of fun. The regular races allow you to go pretty fast and you actually do need some driving skills to go around the track without crashing in to the walls or the other drivers. I do have two issues. During our time there, there were 3-4 participants who knew each other and they would pretty much block everyone else so their friend ahead of the pack can set lap times. I did eventually put one of them into the wall, but that resulted in the others to do

extremely overpriced, unprofessional and rude staff, a bunch of teenagers horsing around instead of properly doing their jobs, and the track itself is boring. Try Andretti karting instead, a significantly better experience with amazing tracks.

Great experience. But they played the video to fast to fully grasp the instructions.

We paid for three races, and it did not disappoint. If you want a really good experience, I suggest going early, before 4p.m., because it gets crowded fast.

I love this place! I was set to ride first in the lineup and my pedals were sliding. I raised my hand and asked if they were supposed to be like that. The guy said, uh, no and got me in another car?in the very back ??. Still finished 6th lol. Was fun but frustrating.

Posting about Saturday night experience and Sunday morning. Don't forget to go to the check in section first. If your looking to be competative and"race" Sunday morning is the way to go. Less hectic. Did our check in process the day before. Racing was fun hardly and cautions. Compared to Saturday evening, don't get me wrong still fun. But it's more of a date night drunk night. A bit more frustrating if you like to compete and have bragging rights. If you have child(ren) under 18 that do not have a li

Took my niece for a day out and she had so much fun! The arcade is kind of small but the races are really cool. Plus all the food and drink smells amazing... A little pricey but if you like to go fast this is the place to go.

It was a decent place. Chill atmosphere decent crowd. I like that they had food and drinks. My drink didn't taste the best but it packed a little kick so that made up for the lack of flavor. I appreciate they don't allow anyone to drive if they have had more than 2 drinks and mark the bands. We had a nice time. The inside race track was a good size and length with misters on the outside section. Axe throwing looks coop and a little more challenging that possibly anticipated.

I have recently become a "Titanium Member" at Octane Raceway in Scottsdale. I have not taken advantage of the VR activities, arcade games, or axe throwing because I'm only there for go-karting. So, my comments are related only to the karting activities. Being retired, I have the luxury of being able to visit Octane mostly on weekday afternoons. My experience with that has been outstanding every time. I think that the management has done a great job building a team of young folks who seem to really enjoy

A bit pricey but my kids enjoyed themselves so we will be back. If you all figure out a way to have kid race octane drivers license cards please let me know. They have an amazing VR experience as well so worth the trip up.

Super fun place with lots of activities and great for little and big kids lol

Really cool place. The go karts are fun, the axe throwing is meh... The organization could have been better - we were a big group and could have had someone to direct us and we could have enjoyed better. The food buffet was really scarce for the price we paid. We had fun and really enjoyed our time though. The customer service was really good. I would recommend!

This place was awesome !!!! We did go cart racing and are throwing. It was super fun. There's also VR and an arcade. They have food and drinks.

Awesome place for the kids & adults that like racing. The downside is when inexperienced kids race they'll crash into you, not knowing how to use the brakes. Lil arcade for the kids & teenagers, or kid at heart! Bar serves drinks & appetizers. Pretty clean place! Expensive for my taste but an experience they wont forget! My son enjoyed this place and wld like to try again! Fun fun fun!!

Staff was fantastic and EXTREMELY nice! The go-kart racing and axe throwing was a blast! Although I stunk, I really liked that the axe throwing had a digital projector to play different games - it was not as ?hillbilly? as other places that have axe throwing - and also seemed much safer

If you're looking to entertain your group, this place has it all. And the people are fantastic, the manager Bobby took a personal interest, went above and beyond and made sure we had a great experience. Bartender Jarrett is the best, A+ all the way!

I had my son's 10th birthday party here a couple years ago. Everyone enjoyed themselves! Especially the go carts. There's something for everyone to do with the arcade as well.

Non Friendly Staff, robbed us on our play card we got, They told us that they had a event at 7 PM so we only have 30 minutes to play, That's the reason I got a card with lower balance, since we were going to be leaving soon with only half hour to play, but the card did not work more than two, plays, When I went back to the counter, only thing they were able to tell me is that they are in a hurry to shut down the place, because of an event, and they really can't help me, and they did not even explain to me c

Instructions were clear. Had a team event and everyone had a lot of fun. Axe throwing was fun and intimidating as well.

Cool indoor racing. They seem very organized. A little pricey but my 17 yo was happy (picture doesn't show it, but you know how kids are).

Go early and book online. My son and I had a great time it is not a every week thing for us. But a great deal of fun. Cost is what keeps me from putting another star, but that is not a knock on Octane racing it is just not a cheep date thing.

Little pricey but the carts are fast and fun. Pray you aren't with a bunch of bad drivers because at more than 20$ a session 14 laps may really be 1 or 2 good laps.

Had a company function here and received amazing service. The activities and food were both great.

Kind of pricey but the axe throwing was fun. They use a projector to play different games on the target.

Love to race anytime I'm in the area and like the track layout . Little pricey and pre-by your tickets because if you walk in you end up waiting a hour or so to race only thing I don't like about it.

We had such a great time at Octane Raceway for the Fathers Day Man Brunch. So worth it. Best if you schedule you race in the AM Sessions to get the best experience. All races are 14 laps which is more than enough and they are at $20 per adult race. It's really worth it. And since we were here for the event, for 40 bucks each the food, equipment rental, plus membership was included. We also bought a $25 game card for $20 Which gives you 100 credits. Each game is about 4 cradits each some are 2. One card wa

Super fun the VR experience was the best! I would recommend booking a few races in advance since we could race again due to others already booking.

Friendly staff, clean facility and quick service. They have a restraunt, bar, out door seating area, bowling alley, game zone and the car racetrack. It's a indoor/half kinda outdoor race track. The websites a bit confusing if your trying to use coupon best to call to book. If its a straight transaction then book online. Otherwise if you book at facility you may be waiting an hour or two hours for your race. Bar tenders are nice and do best they can do w straight up drinks. They do not have blender for mix d

This place was a lot of fun. Racing was great. They had games you could play and food you could get also. A little pricey. For three people to do one race was over $100. Not sure what games or food costs we didnt do any of that.

What an awesome place for adults and kids! Lots of games laser tag and go-kart. I love this place. There's food and drink here also. Price not too bad

My daughter and I had a blast. It was such a great time except for the rules hahaha I can understand try not to hit the other riders go karts, but the whole move over or slow down or taking away our power for 5 seconds ehhhh you still get a 5 star but still silly rules lol ??

Had a blast, the race course was fun, good food, and friendly staff. Excellent place for a fun date night. Or a family night.

Great place for gatherings!

Highly recommend for a family. My kids are 16, 14, and 9. All had a blast. My 9yr old was a little nervous but the guys on the track gave him great instruction and he loved it!!

Great place to take a group of friends for a fun night out! The karts are quick and the track is cool. It's definitely best when both inside and outside are open so try to go when the weather is nice.

Races are about 14 laps long at about 30 seconds a lap. The track is quick. Cars are fast enough to be enjoyable. The course is designed to encourage braking, however braking is letting up early along with a little counter steering allows for the best lap times. The bar and grill is pretty straightforward with a decent selection of beverages. Overall the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and pretty upbeat. Great all around experience????????

We had a blast. Fast and fun. Can't wait to take my son.

Awesome, pure awesomeness! Go carts go up to 45 mph for adults and up to 25 mph for youth races (under 16). Really great time and they gave me free race on my birthday! Thanks so much for your hospitality and time to educate me and my teens on how to get the most of our go cart experience. Highly recommend using the seat pads to minimize back pain while driving car. Will be back soon for fall break ...can't wait!

This place was a surprise! Nice bar and food available. Fun place Nice people

Super High Octane Fun! Karting, Velocity VR, Axe Throwing, and an arcade - along with food and a bar (plus Mavrix next door), Octane is an absolute blast!

This was fun, but it would have been more fun without the two ?professional? racers. These two guys had no problem ramming into people and the walls. Everyone else got a flag for barely bumping people because we weren't as skilled, but these two were allowed to just run the track and break all the rules. They obviously come here often and are allowed to get away with whatever they want. Maybe ownership should consider giving them their own time so other paying customers can have just as much fun competing

Always love Octane Raceway. The carts are fast, the track is interesting and prices are reasonable. The VR is a lot of fun too.

Loads of fun for Birthdays! 54" and over for the karts. They saved the day when K1 cancelled our reservation the day before talking about "we are relocating". Thank you Octane!!!!

Karts are nice and good track but seems like races are never on time anymore. Why book ahead online and show up to wait an extra 45 min for the time you booked

This place is where it's at! Best Karting experience i've had between any K1 Speed or Pole Position location. The staff are attentive and unlike most tracks, the race marshalls are actually paying attention and using their signs (although i'd like to see the move over sign used more often, especially when someone is outpacing the field by a full second a lap...) there was a 50 minute wait for our race but we checked out the facility and it seems very well run and organized! I'll be coming back every time i'

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
