Customer Reviews

Great store, huge selection. They have an arcade with many classic games.

Visted from out of town. One of my favorite video games stores I've been to in the country. Tons of really cool inventory and very fairly priced. The employees are super personable and talked about the history of the place and clearly had a love for collecting. The custom Zelda cabinet they built is incredible. They mentioned they are converting one of the rooms into an arcade soon. Highly Recommended. Worth a trip if you're passionate about games and near the area!

I wanted to love this store but I have bought 5 things from there and 3 never worked. I bought two new-in-box controllers and they did not work out of the box, then I went back and got a third which also did not work. While I was there I picked up a PS3 game which was scratched and completely unplayable. It never even installed the game. I do not know how they expect people to keep returning if nothing is going to work, but due to their return policy it is unlikely I'll ever see my money back and I'll have

This store is outstanding. They always have a great selection of games. The staff is very friendly and always takes the time to answer my questions. Their pricing is also extremely fair. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is a retro gamer or a collector.

The 2 at the front counter today were amazing at helping me with my playstation 2 game. Didn't know this place existed an now i just want to live there! Would definitely LOVE to work there!! Thank you for the help!

Lovin the arcade, reminds me of arcades yesterdecade almost

A great selection of retro games, consoles, and accessories! Prices can be a bit high, but there are still some deals to be found. Inventory: 4/5 - Tons of titles from all generations! Organization is great. Would be great to see more gaming collectibles/memorabilia. Value: 3/5 - Most prices are a little over market value, but you're still likely to find a deal or two if you take your time while browsing. Location: 5/5 - Great location, plenty of parking, and friendly staff. Overall: 4/5. If they matche

I thought this seemed like a good gaming store. Ordered about $100 worth of stuff. They canceled my order without any reasoning. DO NOT GO HERE!

It had some major changes since the last time I was at this establishment. The changes were in a good way also. It had alot of options in retro gaming new and old.

The first time I went to this store, I was shocked to see that they had games from the 2000s. In my opinion, this has to be the best game store?better than GameStop

Very large selection of games but they have Roaches. I stopped in for the first time and saw a few Wii U titles I wanted to grab until my wife death gripped my arm and pointed out there were live roaches going in between the boxes/shelves. Sadly did not purchse anything as I didnt want to bring home any new roommates....

Very nice store. Don't underestimate their massive toy and figurine selection, too.

Huge variety and lots to dig through . Staff is nice and knowledgeable. Small but very well curated selection of arcade cabinets.

I love this store! I've been here a lot. And recently me and my teacher came here to get some games. Since we both love video games. I would love to see this store in Rising sun Indiana. Since we don't have have a game store in Rising sun. But at least I know where this store is. To whom ever is reading this ether an employee or costemer. God bless!

Pretty neat selection of games and memorabilia for sale. Arcade for $10 all you can play.

Awesome retro game store. Lots of inventory and was organized well. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff!

First time in there. The staff was pretty awesome and found a lot of games I wanted from there!

This place is amazing! I never had a PS3 so I looked at the reviews online before purchasing one. After looking at the reviews, I called pawn shops and multiple game stops for a used PS3 Super Slim and they all didn't have any. I was referred to Nostalgic Video Games and when I called, they actually had one in stock. Customer service was great, everyone in there was nice and very helpful. I'd say better than any other video game store I have been to. I am very satisfied and will be going back for not only m

Nostalgic Video Games offers an extensive and remarkable collection of video game-related products that evoke a sense of nostalgia. The store's vast selection allows customers to embark on a memorable journey down memory lane. The knowledgeable and courteous staff possesses a deep understanding of the products and is always ready to assist customers in finding what they are looking for. We highly recommend visiting Nostalgic Video Games for an exceptional shopping experience.

Great selection of various games spanning from SNES to PS5 and everything in-between. They even have older consoles that are in awesome condition. The staff is also really kind and informative. If you're into video games of old and new, definitely stop by here. They also have better trade in values and stock than GameStop!

We love going here and finding treasures and toys! They have a decent trade program, especially for store credit, and the selection always changes. We've gotten many toys and games here and even a 360 system that works great. Great place to go for older finds or to offload stuff you no longer want!

Excellent retro gaming shop. My teenage son loved shopping here and I am certain that we will return. Fantastic selection and friendly service. I enjoyed just looking at all of the cool gaming systems.

Absolutely love this place, one of the most helpful staffs I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with and there's always something there id like to try out, being a gamer of 25 years I'm glad they have an affordable selection for a father like myself. Even the smaller posters and accessories are always in stock when I've visited. A must stop by for any gamer, ESPECIALLY retro and Golden Age gaming.

My brother never went there since he got a replacement Nintendo Switch kickstand while his console doesn't have one since the previous owner damaged the stand for him to enjoy while playing with Joy-Cons. In his opinion, this place is outstandingly amazing, he can't play video games nonstop while playing the piano!

Wonderful store great game selection always loving doing business with them

Amazing place to be. I felt a certain kind of way just approaching the door. Staff was friendly but not overbearing. I see some people saying prices were high but they were absolutely fair. Just slightly above standard SOLD eBay market values and given they're running a massive store, that's a fair and expected mark up. Went in for av cables for my ps1 and left with a bag of goodies. They also have super convenient things like Retro Fighter's controllers. I'll definitely be going back and will be telling ev

They have games for every gaming platform from Atari to PS4 and XBox 1 and not just a few either!! I'm talking 30 to 50 games to choose from per platform!! They sell accessories for each one as well though, some more than others but still!!! You won't find this selection and range anywhere else. They also carry gaming cards like Pokemon and magic. They have mementos and toys, posters. It really is a one of a kind store and hands down my favorite store in the world.....oh and did I mention everything is perf

I've been going here since they opened, by far the best used games & vintage toy shop in Cincy. Everyone is super kind, even if you sit on the floor for 2 hours going thru bins of Skylanders - they just want customers and children to be happy. :)) we are

Almost everything you could want here. Also for 10 dollars you can play at their arcade all day

This place is awesome! They have a ton of figurines and their selection of new and old video games and consoles is insane! Prices aren't even bad, either. And they are really fair with their prices when you sell to them. They don't have any playing cards, but what they do have is incredible and definitely worth visiting over and over.

I've really enjoyed watching this place grow since they opened. Their stock is pretty great, and the staff is friendly. Prices are on par with going rates, this retro stuff fluctuates so it's hard to stay current. But I don't think there are great deals, but rather fair prices. I'm thrilled to have a place like this here in Florence and I hope they succeed.

Pretty fun place! The employees were nice, and helped us out. I ended up paying about 9 bucks. My only concerns are their prices and warranties. Their prices follow a trend: the more recent the game, the cheaper it is. For example, an NES game is around 40 bucks here, but a gba game is max 15. The warranty is a bit questionable though. Instead of giving you money back, they give you store credit. I would rate this place 3.5, but google doesn't have decimals so I rounded up lol

You're literally walking into the past and they don't just have games, but action figures as well. A lot of stuff there I used to own as a kid definitely check the spot out.

Store side was cool, arcade side was fun.

This place is huge! Tons stuff, great prices, friendly helpful workers. Great way to trade, very fair, worth it. We went with in store credit instead cash because it was such a good deal, was able get lot more than expected which was great surprise. Way better than other we trade buy sell shops

Hands down my favorite local Retro Game store. The staff is very friendly, intensely knowledgeable, and the selection is above and beyond the norm. Not to mention that they offer a rewards program for repeat/return customers. I fully recommend that you check them out, they are well worth the visit

Went inside to get a new game to play. The guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable & more than happy to help

Staff is great. The game inventory is decent. Prices can be a little high on some games, but only like $5-10. I've shopped there 4 or 5 times now. Every trip has been a positive experience.

You can buy these games on eBay, but I prefer getting it through this local business. It's a neat store with a lot of hard to find vintage systems and collectibles. They have a rewards program and offer some reconditioning services. Pricing is fair, usually based on the rarity of the game and the condition of the case. Worth checking out, I stop by every time I'm in Florence.

Went to trade in some games today like I have for almost 20 years through their current and past locations. I had a hand held game that I was taking back to them after they made a previous offer less than a month ago, ....today they refused to take it. The employee was rude and stormed out of the room when I ask to speak to the owners. When the owner came out he did not offer any solution to correct the problem except ask the employee if he agreed to purchase it a few weeks before. The employee's answer

Staff is incredibly nice and knows their stuff. Tons of great inventory in store and online

Typically I don't write reviews, but, this is such a nice corner market for used video games. Every time I visit Cincinnati, I always drive down here because they have such a stellar selection and plenty of cool items to browse. Recently, I went there and accidentally left my water bottle. The shop was kind enough to ship it back to me and I am extremely appreciative for them to do that. I've purchased a couple of video games here, and highly recommend checking this place out. :)

I find myself here at lease once a week, they have the best retro selection of video games I've seen. They also carry a fantastic, ever changing selection of figurines, and plushies. Friendly staff every time that always knows their stuff! They even carry replacement cables/controllers from just about every system sold in the US! Found an old genesis 16 bit in a box with no peripherals? No problem they have every thing you need to fire it up and probably have the game you liked back when you last had it out

Great place. Got my PSP 3000 here for about $80. Staff is nice as well. They also have things besides games and consoles, like posters, figures, pillows, stuffed animals, and keychains. Also a great place to trade in games you don't want anymore. They have a wide variety of games from multiple different platforms. 10/10 Would recommend to any video game fan

Absolutely love this place. The guys always say hi and talk to my son. Extremely helpful and well priced on everything. The pinball arcade is a plus. Have new to old comics and cards. Have alot of stuff I wouldn't of thought about a comic book store having. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot next time you need something nerdy.

I bought a used PS4 the other day and the fan system started going out. I brought it back though and since they didn't have a replacement and fixing it would cost more than it was worth they gave me every cent back that I spent. While I'm sad I don't have a PS4 again I have to say that was awesome. I definitely read my receipt and didn't expect them to do that for me. It was pretty awesome. Also, that store just has awesome stuff in it. I'm a huge star wars geek so I nerded out hard with my girlfriend the

My go to retro gaming store, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The selection is amazing I've been to many retro gaming stores in this area and across the country as I travel as part of my job. There's not a place around the Nky/Cincinnati area with better selection. The prices can be high sometimes but you can talk with them occasionally about a item you feel should be lower. Overall though the prices are very market fair. They even have a great customer loyalty program that let's your earn discou

From the outside this place doesn't look like much, mainly because of the tiny doorway it's tucked in within the little strip mall. But the place is big and they have a lot of stuff, the staff was great, and the the prices were competitive. It's a place we probably won't get to visit often since it's several hours away from us, but we'll certainly go back when we're in the area again. It's also the only place I've been to that actually sold game manuals. I wish we'd had more time to look through things, but

This place used to be good now they try to undercut prices had a few games that came in to trade and they gave me a very low ball offer hope this place goes under soon as they are no longer what they used to be joke of a place take business else where

Sad because I really like this place to start off with. And they do have a few good employees . The selections are OK for the most part. There's a couple issues that I have it seems like some stuff is on the top tier pricing. One time I went in to return a game that I bought just because I didn't realize I are ready by the copy from them a couple weeks before. I went in to return the game and they told me if there's nothing wrong with it I cannot return the game all sales are final. And I was in there ju

Many enjoy the very strong and flashy environment of stores like Gamestop or Best Buy, but this location and store holds something valuable like no other. The employees are personable, you don't feel like you're talking to someone that's trying to get you to buy stuff, and the amount of options and cool stuff in there is amazing. Me personally, I'm a careful and picky person, so a constantly changing, wide selection of anything from video games to figurines to plushies is perfect. I'm a long-time avid video

Great vintage video game store with a large selection of games, some rare games and pretty fair pricing on most of their selection. Stopped by here while in town for a business trip. Will definitely stop by in the future when in town or passing through. The owner was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had as well. Great store all around.

Large collection of games, decent prices. Not a lot or rarer items. I'll check it out again whenever I'm in town.

I've been here 3 times in one week. The first two times I got a fair pricing on on my games. Loved the customer service. This last time the guy tried to insult my intelligence. I was told 30% off of market value. (EBay, Pricecharting, etc.) Most of my Games where CIB(Complete) and was offered the lowest I have been offered ever. Not only did I do the math myself the first two times. But also this third time. My estimates the first two times according to the information I was giving stood to be correct. This

This place is awesome! They have an amazing retro game selection. My husband and I collect and we travel from out of state to come to this store. The guys that work here are super nice and helpful. Every time we have gone, they were running a good deal or sale. 11/10...would reccomend!!

This game store is in a weird location and larger than I expected. Lots of aftermarket goods and stuff I can't find anywhere else. Decent rewards program. Definitely coming back for birthday presents that are unique for my gaming friends.

Your first time here you may be wondering how to get in, cause the plaza is setup a little weird. But trust me finding the door to the castle is worth it! I love this place, I've bought a ps2 slim here for what i feel was a very reasonable price amd had zero issues with it. I have also purchased numerous retro games for various consoles and they have worked flawlessly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and even if they may not know, they are not afraid to try and find out. Great customer service goes

Fantastic customer service, I live almost an hour away and am more than willing to make the trip. Excellent selection for almost every system (nobody has Dreamcast games available for some reason). Knowledge staff that definitely go the extra mile.

Great selection of every console, the staff are always nice and friendly and are genuinely happy to help you. The vibe here is such a nice fresh breath compared to the big box game stores. I will keep coming back.

Gem of a shop for action figures and videogames, largest console game selection in the tri-state area to my knowledge. Drawing supplies for comics/anime are limited, seems that aspect of the shop is in decline.

Great service, Great selection, Great prices.

Now even though there can be high prices, I will disregard that cause of how good the service can be and how great the variety is. Once I got a GB game there that ended up not working due to my GBA SP not supporting it, and we ended up getting all our money back in rewards points which I spent on a 8BitDo wired controller I love. I really have only been looking at GB to GBA games, but next time I will check out their Wii and GameCube games, and maybe Wii U if they have it.

Behind this hallway of the corner of the shopping center is a store of a wide variety of retro games, modern games, gaming systems, and accessories (and yes, even the more obscure ones). As shoppers enter the store, they can see huge shelves that contain a lot of games, each of them categorized by what system/platform the games run on. Not only that, there are several smaller shelves in the middle of store holding systems from earlier generations, HD clone consoles, accessories, plushies, and much more. Mos

Apparently you can go inside the building to pay money for a 350$ arcade machine and not receive product then when voicing these frustrations with the workers you will be made fun of DONT SHOP HERE

Pretty surprised in this place. Great selection. Unfortunately I was followed around and felt like I was be followed like they suspected I was a criminal. This backfired on them because instead of spending the hundreds of dollars I would have spent, I spent $13 and probably will rarely be back. They have some decent prices here. Retro items are fairly priced, but new items like retro and hyperkin items are overpriced.

This is always my go to place. The owners are super cool people. The employee's are very knowledgeable. No matter how busy they are, they make sure to give you their undivided attention. Great prices, great atmosphere. Love this store!

Love this store. The people are always helpful and very nice. Great price on things.. vintage games you can't get any more

Good vintage game store. If your looking for a old game you use to play as a kid this is the store to be at. Staff was friendly and love the selection. You can find anything there from a old game system to new and hard to find games to rare games. Glad this place is here and love stopping in and looking at everything and not being annoyed by people asking if you need help with something every ten minutes. Great place and I highly recommend to everyone.

Great selection of older games and accessories. The thing I come here for more than anything though is the sleeves they sell to protect photos, comics, things like that. Nobody else carries them and you have to buy like 50 ordering online anywhere.

Staff was friendly, super large selection on everything from toys to games to movies. A friend sold some stuff there recently and told me they had movies ended up getting a full stack without breaking the bank. Definitely a replacement for Buybacks

Love this place. Took some old games and systems and got a great trade in price. They replaced the battery and cleaned my Zelda NES game for cheap. The games, toys and collectibles are awesome. Stores like this just don't exist anymore.

Pretty big selection of everything you need for every game system you could think of and great prices as well. They've recently remodeled which greatly improved the look and shopping experience. Very well organized and somewhat friendly staff.

This store has easily became my favorite game store hands down s Owners are nice an really fair with trade ins, an his prices. However the lady that works there has horrible customer service an is very rude. Ive caught her saying some fowl things about me an a friend who are regular buyers an sellers there, i suppose she didnt think we heard her but we did. She also isnt fair with buying items from you she always is trying to find something wrong with your system or low ball you to much on your item, pers

This place has everything you could think of when it comes to games. Staff was extremely helpful. Very satisfied with purchase. Would recommend to anyone looking to get their game on. This place is definitely worth checking out.

Amazing store, great prices, and friendly staff. Talked with the owner for around 30 minutes about how the store has grown! They also have the best accessories and batteries.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite places to shop. I love to game, and through growing up, I've lost a lot of my childhood games and systems. Sometimes things just get lost or broken, and major retailers have been cutting back on their older systems more and more over the years, making it hard to get a lot of those possessions back. Nostalgic Bazaar has impressed me with the selection of old systems and games that they have, and for the most part, they're fairly priced. If I need something for an old syst

Nice place, and they had expanded from the first time I was there. A lot of nice finds and well priced, I'll be going back.

Phenomenal, nostalgic hardware, toy collectibles, and video game store in the heart of Florence. Everyone must go and enjoy what they have to offer. I've never seen anything like it.

Forget about other video game stores for older games. I was looking for PS2 games and their selection is unbeatable. They have even more selections for the newer consoles. Biggest selection I know of in the area! Plus the staff is super helpful.

This place is awesome! It is easily the best used game store in northern kentucky. It is certainly a hidden gem. It was a little hard to find at first (its in the corner of the strip mall behind burger king on 42) but it was well worth the hunt. Their game selection is enormous, they have literally thousands of games in excellent condition, very well organized by system and alphabetically sorted. Many old retro games are harder to find these days, and i looked at many other used game stores in the area with

Amazing selection, great staff, and very cool setup in the store. The prices aren't too insane but they're not extremely cheap either, only on accessories and books and dvds and such. This is for convenience, you can find almost anything retro related you want in this store and they always help or will keep an eye out for you.

We love to come here when we come in town but it's more expensive than when we went last time. The staff are very friendly but I am unsure if I could recommend due to the astronomical prices.

I've been visiting this store since it opened, and watched it grow from a modest shop in the corner to a truly impressive store of games, merch, and ephemera. There are large cases of mostly classic, some modern games, but the real prize is the odds and ends - CDs of video game music, posters and advertising stands from old games, strategy guides and pins and the rotation of plushies that seems to increase every time I visit. The 6th generation games are a bit lacking now. PS2 and GCN, most of the intere

I sold some some SNES and NES games to the store, I had sort of an idea of their value when I went in. I honestly expected the "gamestop" experience. But I walked out blown away not only did they give me a fair price, one item was worth more then I thought and they told me about it. Very Honest business cant go wrong going here. I cant recommend it enough.

Staff here really knows their stuff and is friendly and outgoing. Selection is really outstanding too and reasonably priced. Highly recommended - probably the best in the greater Cincinnati area, a hidden gem.

Be warry when you step inside this store, shoppers. While it is the only option in the area, I fear they know that and weaponize it. For one they tend to sell fake cartridges. Usually Pokemon or other Nintendo Properties, seeing that they are the best sellers.. They seem to have the idea that as long as it resembles the gameplay, the rest doesnt matter. How so? Say you want to buy a game for the ps3, but the case is horribly beaten up and the disc is scratched to hell. They would still sell it full price. O

if you're an old-school gamer like me this is the place for you. they have everything from Ataris to the newest PlayStations, and all the acceserious to go with them. and the prices are really reasonable.

My son purchased a DS in the box and noticed when he got to the car that it was damaged. He went back inside to return it. They would not return his money. I even called them when he arrived home. We are now disputing the charge on our card. The one they sold him in the box has a different serial number than the box too. That is fraudulent. What a scam. Beware and don't let your kids shop here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
