Night Owl offers a vibrant atmosphere with retro pinball machines, a great patio, and dog-friendly space. Food is generally praised, especially pizza, wings, and salads, though some find it greasy or inconsistent. Customer Reviews

Stopped in here due to our usual pizza place being closed for the day, and it was pretty good! The pizza was good, I really liked the crust on it, and there was a good amount of garlic on the garlic knots, which I like. As much as I like giving 5 star reviews, this didn't quite reach that level, there were a few things I didn't enjoy: the garlic knot dough was too dense and not at all fluffy (almost like if hadn't been proofed long enough), the sprinkle of salt on the pizza was too much, the pepperoni made

This place is so fun. The vibe is retro skateboards and pinball machines with great pizza, right down to the repurposed pinball table countertops. The back patio is awesome, the food is good, and they have a happy hour that makes people happy! I'm excited to have Night Owl in my neighborhood!

It was slightly disorganized, but the staff were polite and regularly checked in with me. The food options were limited but pretty good, they had burgers, knots, and pizzas; so not exactly vegan or vegetarian friendly. And the overall atmosphere was nice, and there was pleasant outside seating accommodations. Overall it was a cool little diner, and I would recommend for small night outs! Went again, 2nd Experience: New vegan options, more overpriced then I remember, and the decor rocks though! They have a

Love this place. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Pizzas are huge! Really nice outside patio and love all the retro games and decor.

The pizza was good, but not great, lots of flop and very greasy. The garlic knots were also a little dry. Overall not bad but not great. Super cool outdoor spot to eat though!

We went for lunch last Saturday and it was fantastic. Our server, Alec, was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive and very friendly. The cocktails were well balanced and delicious. My husband had the dry rub wings and rated them 10/10. We also got the cheesy garlic knots and pizza, to go, that were both very good. The pizza dough is on the thin side (as it should be) and the sauce is savory, not sweet, which we appreciate. The patio is gorgeous with lots of plants, trees, and tons of fans with misters! We

Ordered a half meat half veggie 18 in pizza. Very awesome. Really nice hostess took order. This would be a great place to hang out. Lots of misters and plenty of room in the patio. Inside there is a full bar and seats. I worked in this plaza in 1991 delivering rental cars ??. Anyway. Yes good pizza.

10/10 !!!! Came here to pick a large Chesse pie. I had no idea it was going to be a NY Style pizza!! Seriously did they make this in NYC and teleport here to Scottsdale?? The crust was perfect and a little dark on bottom , the sauce was amazing , the cheese and yes its a little greasy[ i read in reviews, sorry folks thats a New York Pizza!! Omg it was soooo good ! I cant wait to come back, the bar had such a cool nolatalgic vibes with the pin ball machines and patio reminded me of a beer garden . I cant bel

The atmosphere and overall vibe of Night Owl is great. Seeing Malort and Old Style on the menu reminds me of home, even when it's over 100 degrees out. Service has also been great the few times I've been here and I've had absolutely no issues getting helped. The inky reason I'm not giving it a perfect 5 stars is because of the food. While they do have some great options, such as their buffalo chicken fries, the pizza is pretty lackluster and I think there are plenty of better options in the Scottsdale area.

Man am I impressed with this bar/restaurant. I normally don't enjoy bar type environments because the musics too loud and it's easily somewhere I get overwhelmed and overstimulated. We came here for fancier pizza than a chain. We were not disappointed. We got carded on arrival. It was 9 pm on a Monday. The outdoor patio is super nice and cozy, well decorated and heated with propane lamps. However we opted to be sat indoor. The decor is cute actually, feels like a bar but has lots to look at around. It's ver

The pizza and wings are good? the house salad is the best. And the burgers are amazing? I love the late night kitchen

I recently visited Night Owl Pizza and Drinks in Scottsdale, Arizona, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few hiccups. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, especially with the option to sit on the patio, which is a great spot for enjoying the Arizona weather. I was particularly pleased to find that the bar is dog-friendly, making it a perfect place for pet owners to relax with their furry friends. The service was commendable, with Christian, our server, being attentive and friendly throug

So fun! Visiting here from South Dakota and met up with my son's girlfriends family. We loved it! Great atmosphere, we loved all of the pictures! Delicious food and drinks, great service. We had a great time and my Mom played Pinball for the first time at the young age of 79!

Great place to get a quick delicious lunch. Patio is dog friendly and well shaded with misters. They have lots of events as well like live music, DJ after hours on the weekend, and of course pinball. Weekly pizzas and burgers are amazing.

We had a great time here, pizza slices were huge and their atmosphere is fun! Lots of games for kids and adult children!

Everything about this place is amazing! The aesthetic, atmosphere, service, food?everything. We ordered a slice of cheese and pepperoni pizza and the lunch combo. Everything was delicious! Probably the best pizza I've ever had Service was amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and everything came out very quickly I highly recommend stopping by to see and taste for yourself how great this place is! I will definitely be returning back

I miss being so close to this place! Atmosphere is great, whether you are inside or at the patio. Drinks are great as well as their guilty-pleasure food. They're open till late making it a great place to hang out with friends or to even work (can be loud so bring headphones). Love this spot!

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EXPERIENCED SUCH ABSURDLY RUDE SERVICE! We chose this restaurant for everyone to meet at to celebrate a coworker leaving. Before I arrived, apparently it had been established that we were being seved at an outside table, and anyone that was a part of this celebration would have to be on one tab. Which is extremely inconvenient when everyone was just showing up when they could, to say goodbye. Never the less we carried on. Unfortunately, many of our coworkers stopped at the bar to ord

This place is a 6 star! They have a friendly and attentive staff, great food and the atmosphere is a hoot! Whooo wouldn't want to pearch up here at the bar for a while. I ask you who, who, who?

My wife and I have been coming here frequently for about a year now. The food is amazing and drinks are great and playing pinball makes everything that much better. We scheduled to host an event here with Thelma for an after-party after we got married in February. Thelma was upfront, transparent, and straightforward with everything as far as service and commodities provided. Everything was so smooth, just like every other time we've been here. Thank you Night Owl and especially Thelma for striving for excel

If you're looking for an amazing pizza place this is it! They have a really fun atmosphere, we had a good time playing the pinball machines and checking out the decor! We got the 18? pizza it was really big and so good! We also got the ziggy wings which are backed and then fried! Oh my heck sooo good!! 1,000% recommend going here! ??

Highly recommend. Excellent neighborhood restaurant! Amazingly delicious food. We had the Barn Owl burger, chucken nuget fries, garlic bread knots, wheat free pizza. Met the friendly owner. Both the owner and the friendly wait staff stopped by our table seversltimes to check in with us. Budget friendly prices, casual, fun easy going place with old-fashioned Pin ball machines. Nice music, large indoor and outside patio seating. Great for singles, couples, groups. Next time I'm going to try one of the 5 cus

We stopped in for a night cap after a long day celebrating our anniversary. We each got a specialty cocktail and both were awesome. Around us people had pizza that looked and smelled amazing. The server was quick and checked in just often enough. A chill spot with a hint of upscale! We can't wait to go back to try the pizza and play some arcade games.

What a GREAT spot for the neighborhood! So much fun things here for everybody, from the pinball machines, to the awesome skateboard wall, cornhole out on the beautiful patio. Trust me when I say you need to pull in and check this place out. Taylor our bartender was friendly and suggested the "slice of the day" which was ridiculously delicious. Inside is fun and loungey, I can't wait to go back!

The staff here were all super friendly. Everyone had a smile and the atmosphere seemed pretty chill. I loved the new patio they added. It's a big open area and the whole space feels very relaxed. Hope they put out some more shade before summer really picks up. I got the pizza, some fries and the garlic knots. The fries were nice and crispy even after some travel time (I got my order to go) which was nice. The garlic knots were good, very soft. They definitely care about their dough. I do feel like they

I really like this place. The pizza is really good. It's really really good. I haven't tried the other menu items yet but I've seen and smelled them. They are going to be good as well. If you are into pinball, this is the place to be, also some old school video games like frogger. The decor is amazing, you can tell a lot of time and effort was put into this place. Then there are the people, everyone is really nice. I came back after my first visit and the staff remembered me by name.

We loved the food and ambiance here. It's hard to find a good crispy pizza crust that isn't too hard. We loved the wings as well. The waitress was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. The patio has lots of seating, misters and fans, and cornhole. We sat outside but inside definitely had good vibes. There were plenty of pinball machines and they had Frogger! Also had a great bar to watch sports. There were lots of people watching the game on the big TV screens.

This place is brand new and while the service Definitely needs a good manager to watch over these young gals behind the bar. The actual establishment itself has a lot of potential and a really cool design inside. I don't think I've ever seen a pinball bar top like this. Don't sleep on the arcades in the back with a few arcade cabinets and about five pinball machines.

In town on business and gave this local pizza joint a chance. Great atmosphere with inside and patio dining options. Had pizza (half and half Cajun spicy chicken and Pretty Fly White Guy) at suggestion of waiter. Wood fired and good crust.

Great patio, dog friendly, misters are amazing on a hot day. Plenty of umbrellas for shade. Pizza was very good, crust was nice and crispy. Nice that you can buy just a slice.

The ambiance was exceptional, and the food quality was outstanding. Our meat-lover's and pepperoni pizzas were delicious, exhibiting excellent flavor without excessive greasiness. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the area.

Decided to meet up with some friends who recommended this place. Atmosphere is great. Given its in scottsdale honestly prices were really good. The downfall for the rating was the service. We were at our table for about an hour and a half and we only saw our waitress 4 times. We were served by other individuals in that time but our server almost seemed like they were ghosting us. Asked for some extra sauces and was told they would be right back with them. We then didnt even see them until it was time for th

If I could give this place 20 stars I would!!! The food was Sooo good, I am not a big pizza fan but this pizza was amazing ?? the crust was perfectly cooked and it all was delicious. The service is BEYOND excellent, we are from out of town renting an Airbnb for the week and when we ordered online the manager actually called me and made sure that when ordering the white sauce I knew it wasn't Alfredo sauce. Now that is customer service!! Then when our order arrived we noticed that our fries were not with

Cute place, pizza was okay. They didn't have too many options. Would go again to try a different slice since they were out of the one I originally wanted.

It was our first visit and the area, the atmosphere was great and the pinball machines were so much fun. We ordered the garlic knots, wings and white pizza (out of our comfort zone) it was good, but we felt the ricotta was a little heavy and overpowers the rest of the ingredients so sadly we reach had one slice. The knots were huge and delicious.

I saw that they had slices. However, you do not get to see the slices like back East. So I ordered a slice off of the menu on trust. Apparently, they have all the pies made. Well, I am so glad I took the risk, because the slice was eye-rolling amazing. I will be back for more slices.

Such a cool and funky place. Our bartender Tara suggested lots of different things and when I asked for a cucumber jalapeno margarita. She came through one of the most amazing drinks I've came across in a really long time. We went during lunch and amazingly enough most of the customers were out in the patio, which I thought was fantastic. We had the lunch special of 2 items + a drink for $11. I had the combo pizza and Stardust wings. The combo pizza was carne asada. It had Pico de gallo, pieces of meat and

Easily one of the best bars in South Scottsdale, the prices are great, pleasant atmosphere.Nice patio, family friendly.Pizza by the slice is a popular menu item. They was a former Chicago style Pizza parlor. The place has been completely remodeled since then. They have some old time pin ball games ! Adequate parking. Well trained crew. You can tell the owners have a great deal of experience in the bar business.

This place hit the spot. Open late with great vibes and even better food. Loved the pizza and wings. Served by the slice (for even the specialty flavors) made it a quick way to ease into the menu.

Very unfortunate that a fun night out was ruined by Rob and his double down of rudeness. Night out to say goodbye to a coworker transferring and to support a local business at the same time turned into a complete mess. I guess asking management to not be rude when advising of ordering policies was too much to expect. The bar was barely a third full, but a couple party members ordering at the bar rather than through my table totally twisted Rob around. Rather than apologize for his tone, he asked us to leav

The pizza is delicious, the service wasn't the quickest but good regardless. Oh and be careful with the pinball machines because I have had numerous tokens just eaten up by the machines. If you raise your concern they will replenish you though.

First time here for a fun girls happy hour! Sat outside on one of the couches! Specialized cocktails were fabulous! My favorite was the Little Woody. Garlic cheese knots were so delicious! I'll definitely be back!!

Wife and I came to try it out. We weren't given menus, no big, so I went and got them. We waited 15 mins and no one stopped. Made eye contact with the guy taking orders and another server touching tables. The only people that spoke were or acknowledged us were the bouncer, since he checked IDs and the woman he was talking to as we left. Disappointing given the rating. The place looked promising.

Wow, I love this place! I can't say enough good things about Night Owl. The food, drink and service was all AMAZING! The music was on point. The patio is huge and a vibe. They have misters which is also nice. Our waitress, Taylor, was the best server ever!! She was always there to fill out drinks and very tentative. Thank you for a great experience, Taylor! You made our first experience here memorable! We will definitely be back!!

The pizza / sauce was very good, the crust could have been a bit more crisp but overall it was very good. Loved the atmosphere and the decor.

I had their lunch combo. The food was delicious. Their garlic Parmesan fries are amazing. Our waiter (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) even brought a water bowl for our pup. We ate outside, where they have shaded or sunny areas. We'll definitely return.

From the moment I sat down, I received impeccable service from Joey the bartender. He immediately asked me what I would like, made sure I had refills on time and put my food order in expeditiously. Rad place, rad bartender.

Great service, cocktails and food (love the pizza!)- love the whole vibe of Night Owl

Night owl did not disappoint! I love Ziggy?s/Stardust Pinball bar, so I was excited to hear they were bringing a sister concept to Scottsdale. It's definitely a vibe. They have a great selection of pinball machines and other games. Can't wait to go back!

I love this place. I feel like the staff has gotten even friendlier over time. The large pizza and wings special is a great deal. Leftover pizza is a week of lunches for me. I also like the 80s vibe with old school skateboard decks on the wall and pinball machines . The patio is huge and mostly shady with misters and heaters depending on the weather. It's almost too nice because it can get pretty crowded at times. One thing is they don't split checks so keep that in mind if you're coming with a big group.

Wanted to try a new pizza place, I got a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots. The knots were nothing to write home about, and the pizza had extra salt on it(?). The atmosphere was pretty cool and I liked the building itself. The service was decent and the food came out quick.

Regular customer that has noticed the service and food quality has been slipping. Servers are entitled and going in with low expectation is your best bet. You can tell by how the place is less crowded.

I love the vibe here. Good music, great patio, and fun menu. Our server was a bit overzealous (each time we went) and stopped by our table every 5 minutes. If he could chill a bit, that would be better. The crust sucks.... if you guys can fix the pizza crust, you'll have something really special. The crust crumbles apart in your mouth. Just crumbles away. It's very weird. Everything else is great on the pizza, the amount of sauce, cheese, toppings, etc. Please fix your crust so that I will crave going the

Such a cool place. The patio is amazing and the cool decor inside. Plus, they make one hell of an Old Fashion, highly recommend.

Small cool little place.. pizza we admirable, wings were better... loved the og pinball machines.

Bouncer was a complete perk. Waitress who brought me my food was awesome . Food is so good but I will not be back do to the service of bouncer/doorman

Pains me to leave this review. I did try calling before leaving this review, nobody answered. Earlier I had called in for a pickup of a cheese pie. I've been here before and was craving a taste from home. That home being NYC. Sadly today was not a good day for NightOwl. The pizza was burnt in so many places you couldn't enjoy a decent bite without tasting burnt dough in your mouth. And the cheese. Too much cheese. Way too much cheese in a way you question if this was a ready made to order pie or one they ?r

Awesome Vibe, Great service, love the Pizza and ZIGGY Wings great outdoor space with vintage pinball machines. Great Old town hangout

Sat at a table for a few mins, had to go ask for a menu, food was pretty bland. Asked the server for a beer and tequila options, she named celebrity tequilas, I asked if they had any real tequila without additives and she rolled her eyes and walked away! Crazy! Never been treated like that in my life!

I had an amazing time at the Night Owl, and I have to shout out the incredible bartender Josie, who made the experience unforgettable. Not only was her service top-notch, but her energy and constant smile lit up the entire place! She truly knows how to make everyone feel welcome. To top it all off, the wings were absolutely delicious?crispy, flavorful, and the perfect pairing for a great night out. I can't recommend this spot enough.

Pizza is weird, crust tastes like crackers. Not a great texture, crispy but in a dry way no chew to it at all. The waitress there was nice, but we waited SO long to order. We tried getting her attention and then one of our friends went up to find her and grab her. She was slammed I understand, but management could?ve done better. Vibes and atmosphere are great! Very cool place to grab a drink with friends. Foods I recommend over the pizza are the wings and the loaded fries. Those are great. Garlic knots we

Pizza is mid at best. We experienced a service issue during our visit. It took a very long time for us to be able to order as our waitress didn't come back for a very long time. Slices came out mismatched so we had to shuffle slices around so everyone could get what the ordered. The atmosphere is wonderful but food and service leave much to be desired

We went to Night Owl a couple months back, we had a table of 9 with half being kids. They got us sat outside with heaters and we thoroughly enjoyed our night. Pizza, drinks, service were all on point. We'll be back.

Lesley was super sweet. First time here with a group of friends and she was super helpful with the drinks and overall an amazing experience. I had a great first time, will definitely be coming back here especially if Lesley is here! Give this girl a raise!

Overall the food and atmosphere is awesome! They have a wonderful patio and the real star, for me, was the salad and the wings. Only issue we faced was that the place was a little understaffed so we had to wait a while for service

Josie is mad at you all the time. She gets mad at you for being happy and enjoying yourself. Not cool. Food is very good. Service depends on the time month before 5pm. Monday-Friday

Was our first time at Night Owl and had a fun time playing trivia! Food and atmosphere was nice, huge outdoor seating area (with heaters), plenty of TVs, and we were happy with the pizza/beer options. They also have pinball and some other games inside which is a nice addition. Would recommend stopping by if you're looking to try somewhere new and enjoy a mixed environment (busy/casual) for a bar.

Well...Daughter turned 31. Hooray!! She wanted to go to Night Owl Pizza & Drinks. We met @ 6PM Friday Nite. Place was Busy wait was 30 minutes for inside seating. We sat @ the bar where Jon took our order & promptly made us a Great drink. We decided to stay and eat @ the bar. GREAT TIME We ordered a pizza Amazing. Meat Lovers on 1/2. Sausage Pepperoni Bacon Spicy Hawaiian on 1/2. Ham Pineapple Jalapeno It was Delicious. They even brought my daughter a Tiramisu Cake for her birthday. Pictured. MMMMMMM Outsid

Food was alright, our issue is that we had to tell the bartender exactly what all we ordered (apparently they don't keep track). I think I still paid for an extra drink I didn't order - doubt our group of 3 will go back.

Great place to go hang out on Friday & Saturday nights! They have a DJ playing all the jams! Drinks are a great price as well! I love their patio! It's so great at night!

I'm not sure their pizza is my style but the beer and service were good.

This place is great. If you are visiting the Phoenix area, make this a mandatory stop. All the food we ordered was very tasty and the best we had while visiting AZ. Atmosphere and staff were very frie dly and inviting. Pinball machines were an added plus, too.

The food was exceptional. I haven't provided feedback about the service process in a review before, but I didn't care for the handheld checkout service. The device requires the payment at the table, including tip. Its uncomfortable with the server standing there looking at the screen at what the customer tips because I didn't receive great service but was pressured to tip high. The device offers custom tip, but preset ABOVE 15% which was what i tip for marginal service. they should not be rewarded good tip

Had a great night here with a group of friends! Our server was really nice and accommodating. We loved the cocktails ??

We were excited about eating at the place. The atmosphere was really great and the decor is cool. We were sat down right away but after waiting for no less than 10 minutes without being helped from any wait staff we left. I know for sure a waitress knew we were waiting because we made eye contact. Very disappointed.

Everything was so good! Drinks, food, and service. Love the patio and the pinball/ video games inside. I may become a regular here!

Pretty neat spot! Great service, the food was pretty good. The drinks were alright. They were a bit weak in my opinion but tasted good, just not amazing. Would happily go back and just ask for a mocktail or something else.

Isaiah, our server was amazing. The food was fantastic as well. We had a wonderful time. Thank you. Will be back.

Inviting atmosphere and Friendly staff! Great good and drinks! Try the desserts! ;) will be back!

I'll have to try this place one more time to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but I was disappointed with how everything shook out. I had never been so I called them up and asked them if they sold pizza by the slice. The woman said yes, so I then elaborated and said ?great is it hot and ready to go??, to which she said yes again. She was mistaken, it took about 20 minutes for two slices of pizza. I had just worked 12 hours so I was a little disappointed. Unfortunately, someone must have set the to go box down i

Super Cute Gem!!!! Great food, nice atmosphere, good beer selection and bar pies! Great outdoor seating area!!!!!! Love the arcade and oh man, calling all Galaga fans- they have it here!!!! Wish it was closer- please open up another location near Surprise!!!

I will say, the wings and pizza were good. The server was on her game. Terrific location. Prices fair. Three stars for really POOR MAINTENANCE! Torn cushions on the patio. How much could some new seat covers cost? Would never allow my restaurants to get so shabby. we were a group with children, so i get being on the patio was a great option. Hilariously, the manager asked us to not allow the children?s shoes on the torn cushions! As if they could make the exposed cushion any worse. Just laughabl

The food, drink and bar itself were awesome. Will definitely be visiting again on our 4-day trip in Scottsdale.

OK this place does the trick for casual dining or group outing on the back patio. I have to admit I've been 3 times and never stepped foot inside

Fantastic spot. Friendly staff and patrons. This place has all the vibes and is exactly what the local neighborhood has been begging for. The expansive pet-friendly patio complements the moody interior which has all the games, drinks and bites you could need, day or night.

This is a place I definitely recommend. Took my girlfriend there and was greeted by the hostess. She was super sweet and even complimented my girlfriend on how pretty she was ??. But the waiter was on it all night continuing to ask if we needed anything and how the food was. The seating outside was perfect for a date atmosphere. Absolutely loved this place and definitely will return for more.

I order from here roughly once a week to two weeks because I love the food. They're also the only place nearby that does a great gluten free pizza. And the Ziggy Fries. Oh my god, the Ziggy Fries. I ask for extra crispy extra garlic and they DELIVER. It was absolutely wasted with garlic yesterday. I consumed it all. Amazing 10/10.

Went for a late date night dinner and drinks. Pizza and wings were so good! The drinks were just right and the service was great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Really enjoyed the ambience they had going on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair.
