It was great fun! Very family friendly atmosphere. Some games were broken, but all around the kids had a fantastic time
A lot of there machines do not work and they also didn't have that big of a selection for the prizes. When you tell the staff that the machines are down they say they can't fix them and give you what you spend on the game just to go to another game and it not dispense the tickets ????? played a couple of games where buttons were broke or games not functioning properly.
A lot of great games, and some cool pinball tables too, but a lot of games were constantly not counting tokens, not giving out tickets, even the ticket eater wasn't working properly we found out after my sister in law had fed in quite a bit of her tickets. I definitely want to come back here again but I hope things work better when I come back! It's perfectly acceptable to put a sign on a non working game instead of taking people's money. Check the video, each ticket is worth 5, and we definitely put more t
This location absolutely sucks. They don't have as many options when it comes to games, and most of them are racing. Then 60% of the machines are broken or not dispensing tickets (yes, we made sure they are ticket machines). They either eat your nickels, or are taped over. The prize counter is a joke too. Small tiny toys for over 1000+ tickets. Hardly any big ticket prizes.
Manager Diana was very aggressive with me combative with my teen daughter. I asked her to let the table down so I can set up for my party that was arriving shortly. She helped everyone that were coming in after me, even though I was the first to arrive & booked/paid for my party last year. The set up ran into our party time so we really didn't get use the table. Once she got done giving me the third degree we only had thirty minutes left to use the table & we had to rush everything. The birthday girl did
Very fun and family oriented!
It should be called quarter-rama since every game costs 4 or 6 Nickels. The prizes for tickets are a rip-off and 'cost' way more than other arcades charge for prizes. Your kids won't leave with much of anything. You have to pay an entrance fee per person. For the same fee you could go down the road to an all you can play free-play 'classic arcade' (no tickets). Games take 4-6 Nickels to play, which means you or your kids have to carry around a cup full of many heavy Nickels. Ultimately kids will like this
This is an amazing place for a birthday party. You can bring your own food and drinks. It's great for all ages. Just as nice as the OG location.
Took my daughter to this location for a fun day out and was seriously disappointed. About 60% of the games we tried had coin slots that were either taped over, jammed or not registering on the game when interesting coins. Even when we sat down on a two player game we could play together, it eventually ceased to operate altogether. After growing up and having a blast with friends at the original location next to Salis and the old UA8, I feel that age didn't do this business any favors. I felt pretty bad for
Staff was nice, place is smaller, games were about 6-9 nickels each - kids and grown ups had a fun time!
We had a good time. I'd say play for the entertainment and don't stress about the prizes.
Great place to take your kids, $5 for half a cup of nickels that'll keep your kid having fun for longer than you'd expect, I also enjoyed a few of the games and would love to go back soon!
NickelRama was a blast. The adults had just as much fun as the kids, and there was never ending options of different types of games to choose from. I would absolutely come back.
Pretty cool place! Went for a birthday party and we all had loads of fun. Thankfully it was not overrun with lots of loud, rude little kids like most places of this sort. Looking forward to going again
This place is amazing! They have a VERY diverse and wide array of video games, from pinball to Guitar Hero to skeeball. There is something for everyone -- they even have retro Atari games on massive screens. I've attached pictures of some of the games they have to offer so you can see for yourself. With that said, they're an amazing afforable option for a family outing or just something to do with your friends. They even offer exclusive savings sometimes. At the time of this review (1/14/2020), NickelRama
My kids love Nickelrama! I like it well enough and don't mind taking them too much. There seems to be a good variety of games. It has always bothered me a little that it's called nickelrama and use use nickels for the games but most games require 4-6 nickels. Most of the games work but came to a few that I couldn't get to work. Didn't bother asking for a refund over $.30. It's pretty clean and the people working there are friendly. We even had a birthday party there about a year ago and it was a succ
Best place to take your young ones as well as teens!! Plenty of games to play, affordable and the place is always clean!!! We go at least once a month
Came here to celebrate my birthday. Had lots of fun and everything is extremely cheap! Lots of games and prizes you can get.
Super fun and nice layout! Even when packed it doesn't feel crowded. All the games are even spaced apart and there is plenty of room at the prize counter. The staff is super friendly and ready to help whether there is an issue. We love come here and playing as many games as we can. I brought my son when he was just 4 and there were lots of game options for him to choose from! It is even fun for adults too :-) The prizes are just as expected but are "priced" better than places like Dave & Busters or Chuck e
First time out to Nickelrama and family had a blast! The place seemed crowded when we first stepped in but there were no issues with waiting for games etc. The game area is easy to navigate around even when there are alot of people which was great. Staff was friendly and fast to help with any issues. There are plenty of games for all ages and skill. Looking forward to visiting again.
We booked a birthday party here. It was a total disaster. For $119 (non refundable) deposit all you get is a tiny table. They say each table is for 16 people but 16 children and especially 16 adults will never be able to fit at this table If you invite 16 children who come with their parents, then you will need at least 4 of their tiny tables. That is $360 for tables + nickels. Maybe this is a good deal for Nickelrama, but not for those who want to have space for everyone to celebrate some event. This is
I went here right after our two hour limit at the trampoline place next to it! It was so much fun and totally worth it! Half of the people I invited only came here after since the other half had to leave, but it was still a lot considering I invited like 15 people or so. It was pretty cool, I got so much prizes, and my buddy had gotten about 3,000 tickets! Dude got lucky, it was his first time at an arcade too : D yeah best bday ever bruv
Pretty fun place, check the arcades before you sit down. I was running around with two toddlers. Luckily I was able to unjam the nickles that were in there. The employees at the front prize desk were very helpful and assisted us throughout our visit.
Great spot for families. Allow all ages are welcome it's just a 5 entrance fee
A great place to take your kiddos they will have so much fun! eat pizza, win tickets to cash them in for prizes and have a great time doing so (Yes adults are aloud to play arcade games too ??)
This place is awesome! The staff is well trained to handle problems. We've had a few machines not give tickets or jackpot and they handled it perfectly. We decided to try Nickel Mania and we're so disappointed we left soon after getting there and went to nicklerama
Big place, it wasn't too crowded, fun, and service, is very good.
So fun! Several games weren't giving tickets, but had no problem having fun anyway!
I love coming here. My kids love coming here. They get to do their own thing and have a great time! Not expensive!
Had a blast here. Went for a birthday party but even the adults had a lot of fun!
Great place to allow your kids to have fun at a reasonable price. Some of the games don't work, and because it is a small space, it does get quite crowded. But overall not bad at all!
$4.95 to get in, no matter your age. $5 or $10 dollar cups of nickels available at register. Most things take 4 nickels to play, didn't see anything over 6 nickels, or $.30. Most games worked as they should. They have a full row of pinball machines, which was where I spent my time. Love taking my family here.
I used to love this place, but unfortunately, the games are outdated, and most are broken. When asking staff for help, they often don't know what's going on. They give you a couple of tickets and send you on your way only for you to lose your nickels in the next game due to the same reasons. Smh. They need a serious makeover
There's a flat fee to enter per person and then you buy nickles to play. Most games are 4+ nickles but they have good variety. We've been a few times and often run into the issue of a good portion of the games being out of order. Did a birthday party here and it was really affordable and included a party table to eat/open presents at but it's LOUD and there is no private spaces for parties.
Great place to take the family for a good time without spending a lot of money. The staff is always helpful and friendly. My kids love it.
The place was nice and big. Some of the workers were rude, along with some of the people. There are 2 games me and my kids loved to play. We won over 11000 tickets.
Kid had fun but a lot of the games don't work so you waste your nickles. A lot of the games also don't spit out any tickets that you win. I'd much rather go to pinstack even though it's pricier.
Had a party here for my grandson & it was not what we expected. The tables were so close that we were constantly bumping into the other party goers. Some kids had to stand up & eat because they told us we had to pay $40 for an extra table. The place was so packed it smelled like must & ??! We will definitely NEVER return to this location!
Very bright, loud and exciting. Employees were awesome. Kids and parents had a blast! Easy to find and fairly cheap fun. Great place for a birthday party as well. Tip: get two tables fir the birthday party...you will need them.
It was fun and affordable it was 2 adults 2 teenagers and a 9 year old. I spent $125 and played for about 2 & 1/2 hours. That's not bad at all ! We did have a couple of machines that messed up, but the workers took the time to try and figure out the issues with the games. Overall experience was fun for all of us !
the place itself is nice, keeps you busy for a few hours. It's small but there's a lot of different games. The real reason I won't be coming back is the staff, I've never seen such hostility from a child's establishment before. The girl at the counter denied me when I brought my ticket receipt to the counter and finally told someone else to help me. This guy looked like he was ready to punch me, I've never seen someone so upset, I didn't even spend all my tickets before just leaving the building. If you dec
I had a birthday party for my girls here. It went AMAZING! We booked about a month in advance online. Got there and they were ready for us. We showed up a little early and got to pick out which table we wanted. The staff was super helpful. The overhead paged reminder of how much time was left which helped keep track of the time while all the kids were playing. The birthday girls had a blast and so did their guests. And not to mention, it was pretty inexpensive. We would definitely book here again for anothe
Good selection of modern cabinets for younger kids. Great time at a great price. Not a fan of the games of luck such as the coin pusher genre, though. Probably a stretch to accuse these as a gateway into gambling, but there is palpable discomfort in seeing my 6-year-old entertained by mindlessly pumping nickels in exchange for random drops of coins. More games of skill would make this great place even better.
This is a great place to have a child's birthday party! The kids had so much fun but not as much as the adults who were there!
Took our daughter here, came around 2 on a Friday and it was dead so we got to play freely. Cheap fun for the whole family! Spent a good 20 bucks and it kept us busy for about 2 hours. Place was clean and staff was friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our time here, and will definitely be back!
Great place for kids and adults to play some games and win prizes. The small entrance fee makes this an appealing destination and you can easily spend an hour playing for only $5. Food is allowed to be brought and Birthday parties are often seen on the weekend. We gladly make the half hour trip for the atmosphere. For the older crowd, there are a great selection of pinball games that you can lose yourself in for hours. While a game will occasionally malfunction, the staff is quick to respond and very fri
Great fun place for kids to play!
It's a fun place to visit and take your kids. However, probably due to my own ignorance, it costs a lot more than I thought. There is a fee to get in, and every machine takes at least 4-5 nickels, so your money goes pretty quickly. We'll still visit again.
Had an awful experience. my entire life the last day on a calendar is Saturday BEWARE there's is on Sunday so when booking my child's birthday I booked it for the wrong day. When I arrived there was no help what so ever. your staff where rude and degrading. I ended up paying for the whole birthday kids individually. And have not got response from owner. Will never use this place again.
Love bringing my toddler here, they update the machines frequently and try to always do as much maintenance as possible, i love that they added new machines. I booked a party for my son and cant wait to host is friends from school. Such a great place, if you are not a fan of crowds go during one of their slower times.
Have been coming to this location for quite some time but have had increasingly negative experiences, so we won't be coming back. They close at 10 but refuse to sell coins at 9:30. Told us we couldn't turn our tickets into the paper tickets at 9:40. If you don't want to continue operations past 9:30, then close at 9:30. Multiple games broken and when you inform them of a broken game that you've won jackpot on they just shrug and say they can't do anything. Waste of time and money.
This place ROCKS!! We just had our daughter's birthday party there and it was so fun! You can bring your own food/drinks in for the parties, which I really enjoyed. And the games were super fun for the kids and adults alike! We will definitely be visiting again for a Family Night!
This place is fun for ALL ages. Can't beat the fun games they have, way better than Chuck E. Cheese. We spend about an hour or two here, but could definitely spend more time if we wanted. There is a $4.95 admission fee, you can get 100 nickels for $5, 200 nickels for $10, request any amount of nickels and pay the price equivalent of it or bring your own! They also have tons of prizes to choose from as well. We came on a Wednesday night around 5 or 6pm and it wasn't busy at all, we love this place and will c
I used to really enjoy bringing the kids here until today. The guys at the front desk said it's $5 person just to walk in the door. I know it not a lot of money but your coming to this place to spend money. Peter Piper, Chuckie Cheese, Dave & Busters. Don't charge to come in. We won't be back just the principle of it.
Fun place for all ages. It cost $3.50 per person to get in then all games are anywhere from 5 cents to 30 cents. Good mix of old and new games. Some give tickets and there us a small prize section for little trinkets. You can bring your own food too.
Would have left a zero but would not let me! The fact that they want to charge me 5 dollars just so i can supervise my daughter playing is not very consumer friendly. Why charge to walk around. Get with it! If i was going to play you stupid kiddy games i would pay but just to walk around NO THANK YOU!
Fun place for everyone. Very spacious and clean. Only 4 stars because I feel like a lot of the machines are broken and some don't even dispense the tickets
The games were cool. My suggestion is to add better prizes. My child?s toy didn't last the car ride home. 250 tickets just for a bite size air head. They really should consider adding nachos and hot dogs or something quick to eat. Maybe even a popcorn machine!!!
We went here for my birthday. It's okay, they could use some claw machines and maybe better working coin pushers. Many machines needed maintenance when we were there. Also, it's super crowded and you have to reserve a table so if you want to sit you have to pray for a stool or go into one of the few "experience" games like Jurrasic Park. Overall, we had fun, but it could have been way better.
This place needs better staff. I didn't know workers could take their kids to work. Half of the games don't work.
Great place to come. Super affordable. Your money goes a long way here. My husband has taken our girls here a few times and they love it. Most recently, we booked my daughters 6th Birthday here. There's no organized party host or anything. But for $69, you get a row of tables for two hours for up to 30 people. Then, for $2/band, you can purchase VIPbraceletts to giveaway to the attendees. This made a fantastic party favor. I gave one to each kid along with an empty bag to collect their ticket counter purch
My 5-year-old and I went to a birthday party there. The games are really fun and you get tickets from certain games to collect prizes. I had fun and more importantly he loved it. It was a good time across the board. I can't speak to over all cost since we were there for a birthday party.
My son and I first time and it was very nice. There is a quite a few games to play and way cheaper than Chuck E Cheese. They don't have food or drinks inside but you can bring your own.
If you're wanting a huge experience like Dave & Busters, you're looking in the wrong place. However, if you have kids and are on a budget? This is the place for you. I took my 7 and 4 yr old kids and they had a blast. On top of that it cost me $20 and they played for over an hour. It's not a huge location like a chuck e cheese but the games were fun. Edit* this is not me complaining at all. I preferred it not to be like Dave & Busters. I wanted somewhere I could take my 2 children and have fun with just gam
This place is a great way to kill about 40 minutes and $20. Our 6 year old loves it and knows which games give the best tickets (the minion game by the basketball hoops). The staff at the prize counter is also very patient when we are deciding what to get.
What an awesome place! I took my nephew and niece here, thinking I would just stand by and watch them play.. but I was playing with them. And we couldn't stop playing. We played the same few games over and over, but enjoyed the whole time we were there. The prizes could be better, but the staff at the prize register were so patient and helpful! Overall, great place for kids and adults!
Nice big arcade with room to get between people. Games are modern and well kept up. Didn't encounter issues with games that were broken. Prizes were pretty good but similar to other arcades. Fun games for adults all the way down to my toddler.
I wish there was food because all the running around got me hungry. But there are a few food places close. 6 admission tickets and 4 wristbands along with $30 in nickels was under $70. It's enough to keep you occupied for hours. Some games were 6 nickels but most were 4. Great variety of games and my only complaint was that quarters were stuck in several games. It was annoying to move on from a game after losing a quarter. The attendants at the prize counter were so helpful.
Great fun and price! 3 stars because there were no working restrooms. I had to run my 3 year old 2 doors down to Tuesday morning and hope they would allow her to use their facilities.
Always a great time at Nickelrama. With only a $4.95 admission fee at the door as a small inconvenience, it's worth it. All the games are only nickels. It's a great place that was introduced to me by my older brother! My kids have loved this place for years. I drive 40 minutes one way to go to this place!
Kids run this place. I asked if they cared if I could have a table for my children to sit at and eat the snacks that this facility sells. She told me I couldn't. I asked what it would take to get a table and she said 69 dollars... I asked why they didn't charge me last time and they said "well, cause you're rude". So now we have to eat in the arcade. Do not recommend, it aint what it used to be.
My kids had a blast. Most games cost about 6 nickels and were able to get a good amount of tickets within an hour. But the prices sucked and cost too many tickets compared to other places that offer the same type of atmosphere. I actually wouldve preferred they dont offer prizes and just let the kids enjoy the games, then kids wouldn't be so disappointed in the end.
Rather than tokes you get nickels. The games range from 3-6 tokens and everything is nice and neat. Each ticket you earn from a game is equivalent to 5 tickets. I actually played some games that I haven't seen anywhere else, which is pretty cool. They have a few vending machines (somewhat overpriced) and their prizes weren't the best, but overall the kids and I enjoyed our visit
Great time with family. Extremely affordable and plenty to do. Young and old had a blast with our group.
It's smaller than what I thought it would be, but not bad. Definitely crowded when I was there, but we had fun, and kids love it. They do birthday parties and there were three different parties going on at the same time where you can bring your own food and cake it seemed. I didn't like the coins though. I know it's Nicklerama so there must be coins and tickets, but it's annoying when there area way too many malfunctions, coins stuck, no tickets to give when you win. It happened maybe 3 or 4 times, which wa
(From a 10yo) I loved it because you can win so many games and you can bring your own nickels as well. Ok, my turn. It is a loud place, but it is packed with kids. What do you expect. Great, clean, and cheap arcade to take your kids to.
We always enjoy our time here, lots of games to play. My only problem is some of the games eat all the nickels and some don't give you tickets, but its like that in most places. Overall good experience. Make sure to get the VIP bracelet to give your gives extra tickets at the end so they can get more prizes, because i know my daughter waste all her nickels on games that doesn't give you any tickets lol
Tried out this newer location after being fans of the original for years. It's a great time too. You can not beat the price for family fun here! We bring the kids and they go nuts for a few hours and eveyone leaves happy and I still have money in the bank. Win/Win for family fun. ??
This place is amazing, any coin jams or ticket problems the workers Kevin, Britzy, and Roslin immediately fixed and everyone was so nice.
I have been coming to the original one in Garland for more than 10 years. This particular one was great at first, and has gone downhill. Admission has gone up to $5 a person regardless of age. The prizes hace gotten more expensive, and the machines don't give out as many tickets as before.
The employees really make the place great. there were a few small issues with the machines and they immediately came in and gave us back nickles or got the machine working. there's pinball in the back, and it's a lot of fun.
Planned a party online, paid for party. There was a conflict with our party time, so we called to change it. On our party day we found out they in fact did not change our time and had no room for us. The owner did refund the $70 table price since we did not have a table. Since it was the day of the party, we still went to play games, then went to CiCi's for cake and pizza. While the owner did refund the price, I am still disappointed in the situation, and unhappy I had to pay for kids and adults to eat off
$3 entry, all machines take 1-5 nickels. You can win tickets for cheesy prizes just like when we were kids! My little ones enjoyed it!
Kids and I had a wonderful time. It's $3.95 per person, even if you don't paly and you can get a VIP wristband for $1.95 to get 1000 extra "points" for the prizes. Can't go wrong with video games. ????
You have to pay an entrance fee of 5 and 5 for a cup of nickels. Kids had fun, I just wish there was a capacity limit.. people were getting mad because it was too overly crowded to walk and reach games.
We wish we had a nickel arcade like this nearby, my daughter and I spent less than $20 for 2 hours of pure arcade fun! they have A LOT of games, most are new, a few are classics. We were surprised how clean this facility is and I don't remember running into any machines that were out of order. This is roughly 3X the size of Buffalo Nickels in Burleson, they could seriously give Dave & Busters a run for their money at the midway. The cost for Birthdays looked very reasonable as well, you could host one for $
I found them very rude to my friend who was giving the party for her daughter. She had paid from 3 to 5 and around 4:15 they were announcing over the intercom a countdown. Then told her she only had it to 4:45 because they had to clean up. It took them less than 5 minutes to wipe the table, fold it up and push it against the wall. I do not suggest having a party here.
This new location is awesome, spacious and clean. All of the Rock N Roll pinball games have been moved to this facility. However, I still enjoy going to the Beltline location as well....but they no longer have my favorite pinball machines.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
