Fun night bowling decent prices and staff overall no complaints. The building is older and the parking lot could use work and better signage on the road. Overall a decent place to bowl.
I was looking around the area to take my grandkids (2) bowling ??. And the price for bowling is outrageous 30 dollars for a hours or more and make you pay for shoes and dont account for me machine break down or bowling return issues. Also how many people you bring to bowl , eating and conversation. Basically get in bowl and dont enjoy your time. Because a hour goes fun. We'll this bowling alley gave me option $5 a game plus shoes ?? or $15 dollars for a hour plus shoes ?? . I was very happy with those cho
Friendly staff. Family oriented. 1st time there loved it
Took my daughter's here for the 1st time. We had an amazing time. Very kid friendly and adult friendly!! Price was better then I assumed and the food was great!! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!
1st time I ever bowled a turkey!! 1st game, 1st 3 frames!
HORRIBLE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Nothing works. Every time someone got a strike the board would say "0". When stage was told the guy told my son we would get a refund. It KEPT happening and when approached for a refund, the same person then shiwed him a paper worth a no refund policy! What A SCAM! This place is ragged and NEW should not be in their name. It's a streaming hot MESS! GO ELSEWHERE - Coral, Norwin, Spins, or Miracle lanes...any of them would be better options.
For 3people with shoes, we played by the hour and it was $23.50. If my 7 year old wasn't so slow and chatty, ??, we would've gotten 3 full games in. We ended up getting 1?. It was a fun night and we'll be back soon! Thank you, NGV!
I went with my class for a field trip my god was it bad first off there's a giant hole in the ceiling overlane 1 and 2 about 75% of the lanes were down and we weren't allowed to have the other ones cuz there was bowling parties almost all of the machines are broken and all of the TVs are frozen and there soda taste like chemicals do not go here and waste any of your money they do not deserve it
Great Valley bowling Alley in North Versailles is a nice large place. I forgot to count how many lanes there are, but the Talley board above each lane has been updated to an electronic tally board. The only manual control is typing in each player's name, and the computer does the rest. Each lane is polished to a high shine, and unlike the good old days, renting shoes cost each player $4.00 for people under 65 and $3.00 for 65+. This, of course, is extra when renting the lanes. For snacks and sodas, player's
Super friendly staff. We got 2 lanes, one for us and one for the kids with bumpers. You can pay per game or by the hour, we did better with the hourly rate. Little one used the dinosaur ball ramp to bowl with. Lots of fun for all.
Told us twice over the phone they had open lanes and we got there five minutes later and it was an hour wait.
Fun times! Bowling lanes and systems worked well for our visit. Arcade was a nice addition to keep teens from complaining. There is a small food stand with food exactly as it sounds nothing great but good to eat. Bar on site but everyone remained respectful. Can become a lot for sensory sensitive people as many different people use their own speakers on top of the normal music playing. But overall a great time with knowledgeable friendly staff.
Moved here a few years ago and went to the other local bowling lanes many times. That place has since closed and we were under the impression that New Great Valley was a less than ideal place for family bowling. That was a completely incorrect assumption, and I wish we had looked much earlier. Everything was great about our first experience here and we will be returning many more times.
We took 2 small children, the staff was great and they really enjoyed it
Great bowling experience would definitely give 5 stars if it wasn't for the TERRIBLE bar experience. The bartender was extremely unprofessional and very rude. He can't take criticism, he cannot admit he made a mistake and he can't take the nasty attitude he gives out. He feels like he can get away with his attitude because ?the boss likes me so I don't care who you tell they won't fire me? I also wish there was management available during this dispute so our party could?ve had a better time.
Got to see my nephew bowl in a tournament! Lanes looked well kept!
Very upset with my experience. We were put in a lane beside a 20+ person birthday party. They only rented 2 lanes, that left them hitting into me and my husband. We stood for the for 2 games then left. The birthday part took up the table I should have been at and the additional table the lane beside me had. In the future I would hope this is no longer allowed.
Just no. It looks so much nicer online than it is in person. It's so rundown. We paid for two hours for two lanes, and barely got to play because the lanes kept messing up. They even moved us down lanes and it still wasn't working properly. The person helping us seemed very annoyed with his job. Update your lanes, Play some music And just all over have a better vibe.
I wanted to take my daughter bowl so when I called I asked if it was first come first serve and they stated yes. When we got up there they claimed they were full but two lanes were open. They stated because of Bowling leagues they were booked. I was like I thought it was it was first come first serve and you have two lanes open. It wasn't fair. Just because you have league season you should be mind full of your other customers. Every one experience is different but I'm very disappointed.
I bowl here for league play so this review is as honest as it gets! It's ok..the snack shop is open at times that aren't posted so you hope to get lucky if you're hungry. Same for the bar. The lanes are cool and the staff is awesome.
Great game deals on Sundays. My preferred time to bowl with my brother.
What a $hit hole. When you pay to play you just expect the equipment to work. Since you are after all paying to use it. Definitely not the case here. Stopped in the bowl a few few rounds with the family. They had a "special" 2 rounds for 35. First round and very first bowler the ball jams. They rest it and the 2nd player goes, now the pins won't rest. This routine went on AFTER EACH PLAYER. Half way through the very first round, we go up to ask for a refund. I didn't want to change lanes for the fact that
Guy up front was nice and professional. Great deals/prices, only spend 20 some bucks for myself and 2 kids to play 3 games including shoes. Food was kinda gross, nacho cheese was probably from the 1990s and pretzel bites were burnt but I'm sure they were short staffed, easy to overlook quality in those situations. Either way I'll come back to bowl for sure. We had a blast
Their rental shoes and house balls were in pretty bad condition. Our lane seemed tilted or uneven as well. Still two stars bc the staff was nice and snacks were decent.
Went there for a birthday celebration. The employees were very nice and accommodating. The place was clean and the equipment worked well. Due to Covid, the bar and snack bar were not open and we were allowed to bring in food and cake. Still fun activity to do with a group or alone.
Had made NYE reservations with Jeff the day prior. We have teenagers and small kids, so NYE has to be kid friendly. When we came in NYE it was for the 10p to 1a bowl. Cosmic bowling was $80 for 5 people, free champagne toast (21+ of course) and a hot dog ticket. Of all the NYE bowling specials, they seemed to be the most cost effective. We went and had a very nice time. Staff was super friendly, crowd was great and we plan to do it again next year.
The workers did not know what they were doing . There was always something wrong . They shut off our lane when we still had 2 hours left to bowl. Do not recommend
We love this bowling alley and frequent it often. It sucks that you can't switch bumpers on and off and that you need someone to come and either fix the lane bar or reset the computer multiple times in the game. Or that the cafe doesn't have their own card machine, But for unlimited cosmic bowling on the weekends for $15 a person from 10pm-1am including shoes isn't a bad deal, we'll be back.
It was extremely cold in this place. It felt like the air conditioning instead of heat blowing from ceiling vents. It's wintertime!! Kudos to the hard working woman in the snack bar all by herself. She handled the unexpected large crowd like a champ. Great bowling price, great friends, great time had.
We had a great time! The staff are great! Had a wonderful time cosmic bowling!
Attended a kids birthday party. It was nice, clean and organized because of the family. the ladies in the kitchen should be nicer, not so cranky. And when offering drinks for the kids party, make sure there are lids for the kids cups...instead of charging the parents for them.
Good service. If you're looking for something to do on Friday night, then this is the place. They have a bar and the best part is: they didn't have to card me. The lady at the snack bar is polite and so is the bartender. I will always be back.
Had my daughter's Bday party there. The kids had fun but they really don't give you enough food for the price your paying and they don't allow you to bring outside food except for the Cake and Ice cream. The staff was nice but the lady at the food counter got a little overwhelmed and grouchy as the parties got busier... There were a total of 3 parties. The other guys tried to help out as much as possible. But the kids had fun so that is what mattered!
Nice selection of pinball machines which are somewhat difficult to find to play throughout the city.
Really cool late nighttime bowling on the weekends. Only problem was snack bar forgot our food to make our food and then shut down and we couldn't find any employees for about 30 min. Other than that the bowling was good for a good price.
Nice quiet friendly lanes. We were out for a tournament. Great lanes, kids loved the game room after bowling. I needed soda water and you had it, I was so happy. Would love to come back
Nice bowling alley, lanes are a little dated but it is digital scoring and our lanes did work correctly, no issues with scores not registering, which has been a problem at other bowling alleys in the area. Their french fries were good too. We will definitely go back.
Great people. Youth league is quality and very knowledgeable. It's a bit of a tight squeeze if you will be attending as a throng. Clean and good snack grill.
My wife and I needed a new bowling ball. We looked around the area, and decided to go to Cooley's Pro Shop located in the Great Valley Lanes. After talking things over, he asked what kind of ball we had, how often we bowled and what type of ball we threw. He suggested we drop down a couple of pounds, we were measured and told it would take about a week. A week later we returned and picked up the bowling balls which were ordered and drilled (without any money down). The drilling was spot on with No rubbing,
This is our family's favorite bowling alley. Everyone is telling the truth, the snack bar is legit! Just straight up, cheap, deep fried bar food. It's great. Always room to bowl and have space. The staff is mostly very kind. ONE COMPLAINT OR SUGGESTION - WE NEED A LOT MORE PINBALL MACHINES! Get rid of all those weird machines that barely work, and invest in another half dozen pinball machines! You fixed the hockey machine, which is great nostalgia. I would sell those 20 year old racing arcade games, and the
The guy that works in the morning on Tuesday is very helpful and friendly!! My family and I had so much fun here!!!
This place is so cool. The staff is always willing to help. I take my guys there all of the time. We have a blast there. The price is affordable. We will continue to go there when covid restrictions permit.
I always pick this place! It's small but clean and everyone is friendly. Now the bigger one is close. It's had to bowl bcoz of the leagues. But I'm not complaining!
Bowling was good? music was good? but no concession and bar smelled bad and bar tender slow and no clue how to man drinks. I'll return but I'll bring my own food
Great atmosphere. Land aren't bad. Wish i me the oil pattern. Some pins are dead. Makes for an interesting experience.
Took my family to the New Year's Eve event last night. Staff was great and friendly. Kids had a blast. Will definitely return.
So on July 26, 2015 a man and his 2 children (rare right?) came in to bowl. He was surprised that the counter person stated that even the children needed to utilize bowling shoes while bowling. The patron stated that he has been there on several occasions and was never asked to do so. So I understand about rules so that didn't bother me. What bothered me is that the person that told him to rent shoes was also allowing other individuals to bowl in sneakers. And to top it off, the counter person began bo
I love this bowling alley. The staff are incredibly helpful!!! This is Gateway's "home", and this alley truly takes care of them. I have a ton of respect for what these people do, and appreciate everything they've done for my son, Joey.
I have been taking my kids here for 12 years. The staff is very friendly and my kids have so much fun on a junior league every Saturday from September until May. I highly recommend taking the family here for a great evening of fun!!!
Diamond in the rough! Had a great time playing some cosmic bowling there. Reasonable price, upbeat atmosphere. I suggest getting there early. The joint was hoppin' as soon as cosmic started.
Excellent place to bowl or just have some fun. Has a huge arcade with some great games, especially pinball. They have 6 pinball machines, Monster Bash, Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure, Fish Tales, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Simpsons Party Pinball & even an older pinball called Jungle. They also have a pool table, shooting gallery, air hockey and Bubble Hockey. There is also a bar with 8-10 beers on draft. Fun place for all ages. My kids love it!
Had a blast. Almost a fight at the bar. But the bartender did a good job calming it down. First cook was fun second was.... Stressful.
The workers aren't very nice.
We attended Cosmo night not only did we pay full price which was 20 dollars per person but there wasnt any drinks they had vending machines that were both broke and no food?? Never again
Trash service. The guy had an attitude about some lane bumpers. Never would come here again tbh. Other then the service it's a nice looking place. The lanes are pretty good. Smells like a bowling alley and is one.
Great old school bowling alley, and best part no strings to set the pins!
First time. Gravel parking lot. Good food.
Excellent place for Family Fun. My 2 yr old granddaughter bowled with the dinosaur and had a few strikes and a few spares. Our total number of children bowling was 46 and ALL HAD A GREAT TIME!
Had my daughter's 8th birthday party there and it was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Cosmic bowling was awesome for a party. Thanks New Great Valley Lanes
I wish the approach was better. ..I had to add powder to my shoes in order to have some of that glide affect to the line. ..My bowl really took off, but all in all I enjoyed my bowling experience. ..
Fun cosmic bowling! Great employees and atmosphere.
Great friendly & helpful staff, plenty of lanes and arcade games. Bar service is usually decent when it's not jammed packed.
Great staff just overcrowded since the popularity has picked up there is limited space and food wait times we vey long.. go when not busy
I took my 2granddaughters on Sunday. They had a blast a little far for us to travel but it was worth it . White Oak Lanes are closed now
It's a nice, clean house to bowl at. Lanes always have oil and everyone is always nice. Support your local houses!
Nice place to bowel , great deal for 50.00 . Didnt like the pizza. need better food
Bowling prices are cheaper here than many other lanes, and they have lots of leagues for people of all ages. I didn't eat, but they do serve food and there's a bar for drinks. The only thing I dislike is the tiny and poorly paved parking lot.
Nice bowling alley. Prices are okay and it has basic bowling services. The desk clerk can get you into the pro shop for products but hard to get an appointment for ball services.
Lots of fun! Food is great and served piping hot!!! New monitors, they are really nice.
Best place to bowl. The staff is friendly and the bowling games are not expensive which is nice. The snack bar has really good food.
It is a very fun and family friendly experience for a reasonable price. A recent birthday party showed that they're falling a little behind the times but still a worthwhile visot
Nice atmosphere. Seems like younger adults run the customer service area. A bit unprofessional. But after all, it's a bowling alley.
Inconsiderate and disrespectful crowd to play around, the worker was nice but I wouldn't recommend bowling here
A nice bowling center with a friendly staff. Everything was in great working condition, and we enjoyed the food provided by the kitchen.
Older lane, shoes are really worn, bar stinks, but a great place for timeless fun
They made some improvements and the place is really nice now...the children enjoyed themselves
Great place to enjoy bowling with friends and family. Whether it's a weekly league or just having a Friday night out with the family. Stop in and schedule a lane.
Great environment. Beautiful friendly staff. My family enjoyed our celebration ??
Good bowling atmosphere. Some equipment breakdowns during league bowling. Recently upgraded to LCD monitors for scoring.
Always a good time here. Staff is courteous and always on top of everything. Hidden Gem for family fun.
Place was ok. Customer service was lacking. Food was blah. Then there was a fight, people throwing glasses. Crazy....
Place is falling apart
It was a fun afternoon. Lanes & restroom were clean. Service was on it.
Awesome employees, moderate bowling lanes, decent food. Overall nice but not perfect.
Midnight bowling was fun. Wasnt crowed t all. Only complaint ks they dont have a food selection of kid weighted bowling balls
The bowling alley was very cold and the bar area was not open no schedule known just depends on if they feel like opening or not.
They were awesome with us. We have 2 kids and They set us up with every thing we needed.
Great, cheap bowling, amazing arcade and great staff come here every couple weekends. Really enjoy it
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
