Pretty cool little retro arcade and pinball spot where you pay $15/per person/per hour. All of the machines were in working order but one. The only thing missing was an air hockey table.
I liked this place because it was small and a good value. I couldn't give it 5 stars because of how many arcade games they had. I took plenty of pics so if you find a game you love this is well worth the $15 dollars to enter and play for an hour. They give you a wristband. NO Game card or quarters needed.
While visiting Pasadena from New Jersey with my 8-year-old son, we searched for arcades in the area?and Neon Retro Arcade popped up. We knew we had to check it out, and it did not disappoint! From newer games like the Batman racing game to retro favorites like Golden Axe, there was something for both of us to enjoy. We only had an hour to spend, but easily could?ve stayed for two or three?there's so much to choose from. The price was very affordable, and after our visit, I emailed the arcade with a question
This place is great. I go here with my 6 year old, open fun for an hour for a really reasonable price. When he was 5, they let him in free, now its our monthy 'mama son date' activity. They are very friendly, and have awesome games. I WISH they had the old 'super off road' game with the 3 steering wheels. Lots of non-violent games for kids :)
Super friendly environment. So much fun for adults and kids alike. Lots of fun at a great price point. Going to come back again!
Fun place to play pinball machines and video games. For adults weekdays and nights are the best. Closes at 10pm.
Great value for tons of entertainment. Their arcade cabinets and machines are very well taken care of and they have a solid selection of retro and retro-like games. We easily spent an hour here and would love to bring our friends next time
Nice 80s games here. I wish they had Punch Out and Dragon's Lair and Karate Championship. But besides that, they have most of the iconic 80s games and some decent modern pinball machines. One hour play for $15. Go check it out.
I really wish they would put Marvel vs Capcom 2 in a bigger cabinet up front like the street fighter 3 cabinet. Cause when there are two people playing on one cab and two people playing on the cabinet next to it it gets really cramp and shoulder to shoulder elbow bumping. Not ideal for fighting games. Not just that the control panel wasn't bolted shut so it would wiggle around significantly when playing. Overall the section of games was great. The atmosphere was clean and cool but it still felt like a da
Neon Retro Arcade is a small yet comforting place for anyone who wants to take a step back in time with authentic video game cabinets. It's family-friendly and capable for groups. Facility was clean and the cabinets throughout the years of inevitable wear-and-tear, were all functional. Pricing is reasonable. If you're a casual gamer, 15 dollars for one hour of endless entertainment is fair. They're very lax about the all-day pass of 25 dollars. You can play for an hour, leave and come back for more. Howe
Classic arcade experience with a dash of pinball to scratch the itch. I challenge you to find more fun in the same square footage!
Mom and pop arcade. You can't go wrong with old-school video games. $15/hr. They have full day wrist bands, too. The people working there were nice. It's small so if it's too crowded you have to come back. The back has a medium-sized couch for TV video games. Limited parking out front. I suggest a parking structure nearby. They do not validate.
Folks were kind enough to allow our whole, large class to visit. Neon Retro Arcade ensured that everyone had a great experience!
Cool place but they could use some more sit-in driving games. 1 hour for $15 was plenty of time to spend there.
Super cool place to hang out that takes anyone back to the origins of video games history. Lost of classic video games as well as some (3 at the moment of this review) pinball machines as well as two more modern interactive team games. Some of these classics include Centipede, Dig Dug, Pac Man, Space Invaders and many more. Lots of excitement and memories to relive here. Friendly, polite and knowledgeable attendants. Best choice made to take our kids there to celebrate one's 12th birthday. From being activ
Perfect place to hang with my teenagers. We always have a lot of fun here. Employees are always very nice too.
Went here a few days ago. this place is absolutely amazing. they have so many game and there were tons of people when i meant, meaning this place had to be pretty popular. if you like arcades you should visit this place!
Great idea. Lots of fun for old farts like me. I got the high score on Asteroids, the one game I liked at college. My eleven year old son was a little bemused by some of the games, and I got the impression that the little ones had no idea what was going on without an iPad or iPhone or Xbox being involved. Some good pinball tables but they need a little maintenance.
With the exception of one machine that had a blurry CRT, every game I played here at Neon Retro was in excellent condition. There were a few oddball conversions such as the Robocop machine, but overall I really enjoyed myself. It's a bit small, but these days I'm always happy to see a real arcade of any size, versus the more common barcade style establishment. It's worth noting that their Donkey Kong machine is in ridiculously good shape - It looks like it just got delivered brand new from Nintendo.
We had a great time! It was the perfect place to meet up with friends and to introduce our kids to some of our favorite childhood classics!
Love this place. Worth every penny to a retrovert like my self. Street fighter cause use some attention can't jump forward on right side.
Obsessed!!!! What a great find. $10 per hour all you can play. What are you waiting for get here already. All the retro classics in one place . Yes I'm a nerd lol You've got to go. Heck out the new Halloween decorations it's a must .
We collaborated with the Neon Retro Arcade to provide a moment of joy for our Eaton Fire affected Youth and it was amazing! Our youth were able to make friends and spend a few hours having fun. Thank you Neon Retro Arcade!
Clean, fun games, reasonable prices, waiting space for adult non-players. A great one hour treat for the kids
Easy booking, easy check in. Kids had a great time! Front desk person very nice. Had zero stress at this place!
A fun place for the family to share a bit of nostalgia and perhaps give a glimpse into what is like to play at an actual arcade.
Amazing arcade I highly recommend the.staff was amazing and the time to play was enough for a hardcore gamer and for a returning .gamer .I highly recommend this place !!
I loved the variety of retro arcade games at this venue. You will be able to play almost every game given your time slot. I had so much fun with my boyfriend here on a Saturday night! We created a memory neither of us will forget. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the games were in great condition. I will come back some day to experience the fun again.
Loved visiting this place it was throwback my inner child was just jumping from game to game we got a groupon and was much cheaper for a whole day u can pay per hour or for over all time its really something to experience if ur a throwback gamer at heart or even to bring ur kid to show em the games of olden time hahaha they also swap out games from time to time so the rotation is real n good to go when u see something u wana play cuz u might not get to experience a certain game u see but if u check there we
Clean very friendly, good service good choice of old school games and pinball machines. Definitely coming back.
Took my kid and a group of his friends for his birthday and they had an incredible time! They were fully entertained for the entire 2 hours they had there and the parents joined in to have just as much fun as the kids! Also super affordable for a larger group of people! The 2 people at the front desk were super helpful and kind and I could tell they like their job!
Grabbed the day pass for $25 with in and out privileges. Visited a couple of times that day, totalling about two hours. It was smaller than I anticipated, but still plenty there from my childhood to keep my interest, and even my son was kept busy the whole time. For me, $15 for an hour is not worth it but the day pass would be so that no matter how busy you still have time to get on the games that you want to get on. Unfortunately there were a couple of games out of service while we were there, but that bei
We had a great time! My son turned 13 and has loved coming to NEON so much so that he wanted to spend his birthday here with a couple of his close friends. Staff was attentive and super friendly. Great overall arcade ambiance with 80?s playlist as well. I'd be remiss, however, in not mentioning that my son and I were a bit disappointed that they had a number of ?popular? video games we were looking forward to playing again but were missing on the floor including Millipede, Tron, Track and Field, Spy Hun
$15 /hour, not too bad
This arcade was so fun for my 9 year old grandson. Even though he wasn't too familiar with the games, he quickly got into them. Looking forward to our next visit. The hour was plenty of time for him to enjoy all the video games.
Like the environment. Modern place with old-fashioned games. Would be great if it was just a little bigger, but still totally worth it. Love the pay per hour price. Miles was really nice. Can't wait to go back!
Super fun video game arcade with lots of vintage games, Game Cubes, and pinball machines. A good mix of older classics like Galaga and Tron, games like Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 3, and SoulCalibre, and newer games like Super Mario Kart. Appreciate the pricing, where you pay by the hour rather than blowing through cash on games you might or might not enjoy. Staff super friendly. Recommended for kids and adults looking for that retro thrill.
Great game selection. Not too long of a wait for games, even when busy.
Such a fun spot that will definitely give you nostalgia! Definitely check out Groupon or livingsocial for deals. Also, best bet is to come on a weekday when it's less busy! :)
Fun. A bit pricy but worth checking out once!
Super fun! Totally lives up to the name and used a Groupon to get the most fun for our buck! Super cool date night idea, would recommend to those who like getting a little competitive but also enjoy fun and laughs!
This place is amazing! Brings me memories of hanging out in arcades in the early '90s. Everything is retro to Pac-man/Donkey Kong/Joust to Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat. There are group fighting games like Simpsons/Xmen/TMNT and sports games like Blitz and NBA Jam. Also lots of pin ball. Great time for $15 an hour.
Checked back in: got all day pass for $25 each. Recommend because you can come, play, go eat, and come back... What's not to like ? Glad these guys are back ! I would like some of the games to have louder sound and turn up the 80s music. We played pinball, ms Pacman, centipede, Galaga, shooting games, racing games and got our old school experience :) I dont feel one hour is enough. I could spend that just on Galaga ! Still was so fun and love the 80s music and great staffers.
A hidden paradise of retro cabinet games (with a few modern options mixed in) for enthusiasts of all ages. With lots to do in the area, the $25 day pass felt well worth the price of admission. If you're looking to recapture some of the glory days of arcade gaming, Neon is not to be missed!
I have been planning to come to this place and finally made the long drive to go to Neon Retro Arcade with my family and it was great to see so many of the classic arcade collections. It brought back memories when I was child playing them at the arcades. I was hope to give my kids the same experience but unfortunately it was not a good one. Issues startled to unfold once we started playing the games. Many of the arcade games, you can feel joy stick really lose and not stiff which made (at times) the game h
We made a reservation for 4 people for my son's birthday treat. Unfortunately, one of our party couldn't make it last minute, so I asked if I could get a refund, despite they specify no refunds. Cristina was gracious enough to give us one all-day pass for another day. That alone gets a 5-star rating, thanks Cristina! As for the arcade, the selection was really great. My son really enjoyed himself and I had a lot of fun myself playing so many games from my youth, including Mortal Kombat, which he hadn't pla
This is a good spot to come by with friends or with your young family to kill an hour with some good fun. Many of the games are indeed retro, and are fun to play if the free-to-play option didn't make it too easy. The Pinball machines tend to break down really easily because of overuse, bur thankfully the attendants are always nearby to fix the problem. Consider coming here to practice for that Pinball tournament in your life.
$10 for an hour of all you can play! Pinball, dig dug, donkey kong, ms pac man! Clean ans safe = family fun!
Good idea. Execution leaves something to be desired. Locale is small so if they have a few people in there getting from the back to the front or vice versa can prove difficult as the lanes between machines get crowded. A great console gaming area in the back.
If u grew up in the 80's this place will send u back to the good old days. I grew up in the 90s/00s and I thought it was cool but felt like it was missing a whole generation of gaming. (no super Nintendo or sega). $15 gets you an hour of unlimited free play time .. and that's all you'll really need..
This place is great. The games are usually in great working order, and it's clean. It can get loud but uh, it's an arcade!! My son (and boyfriend) love coming here and playing Pinball. Burger Time is my favorite. Pay by the hour or the day. Plenty of parking near by, plus other little eateries and things around. Great for a family day or date night.
It was fun and a good deal. $15 for an hour, $25 for the day ????
I held a birthday party for my 10 year old son here. It worked out great. Super easy to book online, easy correspondence with the owners (prior to the event) and really easy and fun to work with the people at the front on the day of. Everyone was really friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend going here for a fun time - whether it is for a one hour visit or for a party.
Place was a lot of and had some really cool retro games that bring you back to your childhood. The nice thing of purchasing an all day wristband is being able to leave and come back. In case you get hungry and want to come back and play some more. There is that option. I will be coming back for sure...
Very cute retro arcade. My nephew who is 9 loves "vintage games," so when I showed him this place he was so excited. I think we were here for 2ish hours before I got tired, he could've kept on going but I wanted to eat. Otherwise great spot with a sweet staff who were helpful and sweet with my nephew. We will be coming back.
We took my 9 year old this weekend for her birthday and we had such a good time! She had fun playing all the games her elder millennial Momma grew up on! :) Great value, lots of fun, we'll be back for sure!
This is a pillar of So Cal small business! the stress-free, inclusive vibes of Neon Retro makes it an ESSENTIAL place to visit! No matter if you wanna play the classics, discover a hidden gem, or just get your Instagram Aesthetic selfies, you gotta check 'em out!
Wonderful experience! We reserved two hours for 12 kids and they let us pay for a few more who came in last minute. The boys had a lot of fun and there were so many games that they wanted to play, it was a great time for everyone!
It's was a great experience I brought my family here. Budget friendly. The boys absolutely loved it the vibe in this location was good. Kids played for hours. 80 to 90 vibes we loved it! Safe place for kids.
Neon Retro Arcade provided a great opportunity for me to spend time with my son on his birthday playing retro video games. It was an outstanding experience that we both enjoyed. We look forward to more visits throughout the year.f
This retro arcade experience was amazing. My daughter enjoyed playing Mario Kart. My husband enjoyed pac man and the pin ball machines. I liked the shooting game and Simpsons. Very clean and there is a restroom that was very clean as well. Great value for the price you pay for being there all day at $25 per person. Thank you ??
Fun games. Great staff. Had a wonderful time. I feel super old now, but still had tons of fun!
Great place. All the classics, great pin ball, and they even have super smash and mario kart. 25 for all day is great as they let you leave and come back whenever. We played for a few hours then went across the street for dinner, then came back to play. 10/10 would recommend. Great staff/service.
Just want I wanted: classic arcade games, and some 80s music in the background. Nothing else.
My husband purchased a voucher from Groupon that included 2 hours of play time for 4 people. It was a great deal, only $44 bucks not to shabby. It was my husband, myself, and my two boys ages 4 & 9. We arrived around 4:30 and I thought it would have been packed more than it was but to my dismay not too bad. They give you a sticker with a time stamp to place on your arm that way they know when your time is up. Simple enough. Great games for all and with unlimited plays, what else do you need! Love the nosta
I was really excited to see this place. They charge $10 per hour admission to get in and all machines are set to free play. I was finally able to play through the entire star wars trilogy game without blowing through $20 in quarters! Overall, they had a great vibe. Game selection was great (and they have a have a game list on their site) less pinball than I was hoping for but that's ok. 10/10 would come again.
took my man and our boys to this arcade. it was $10 per person for an hour. at first I was put off by the price but decided to go for it. the facility is an decent size with good selection of old school games, pin ball machines and a few newer selection of games. I would say it is a good mix of classic games and newer games. this place has something for everybody. my boys really enjoyed it here. I reccomend this place for an hour of fun, we will be coming back, we enjoyed neon retro arcade (even though the
Dope, fun and entertaining place to go if you are in the Pasadena area. It is a place to bring a date or your kids?? $15 per hr or $25 for the entire day. I always just do the $15/hr. That it's always enough time to get my game on ;)
Great place that brought back memories of Star Castle Arcade in Savannah, GA from the 1980's when I was a kid. My kids (aged 14 and 17 came along and had a blast as well showing them the games we played as kids plus the whole retro arcade vibe! Great to see such a place still exists!
We did a group event and it was great. They let us add more people on site and the people running the place were great. And the arcade a bunch of my favorites - Centipede, Burger Time and more!
My family and I love coming to Pasadena and hitting this retro arcade. Super friendly staff and great assortment of classic arcade games, pinball machines and a couple of Wii U consoles.
Such a cool arcade in Pasadena. You pay for the amount of time you want to play in the arcade. You have access to all the game and consoles once you obtain the wristband. My group had a great time! Highly recommend checking this place out.
Take me back to my childhood and keep me there! This is an awesome new place to hang out in Pasadena. I love their $10 an hour unlimited play. Kids under a certain age play for free and they have little stools for the kids to use to help them see the games. It is a fun way to pass the time and you can find any retro game that you used to love playing here!
Neon Retro Arcade was a blast. Great value for the money. They have a big variety of classic arcade games including fighters, shooters, racing games, puzzles, pinball. And everything was kept in great condition.
First time here for my younger brothers birthday party and this place was great. They handled our party and the kids had a great time playing old and new games, there are some Nintendo games hooked up to TVs in the back. My father felt so nostalgic with all of the games they had. He played Defender for a while, to the point that he walked away from the game, came back 30-40 minutes later and it was still trying to get through all the lives he had. Highly recommend this place!
It's fun if you have an hour to burn while waiting for your table reservation. Neon Retro Arcade is exactly what it says on the box. About 30 retro arcade games and you pay $15 for an hour of play time. All the machines are set to free play. I had a good time, but there are admittedly a few issues you should be aware of before going. When I went, about 1/3 of the games were out of order. Some of them, like Tapper and TRON, spontaneously stopped working between games. Others had signs on them. The problem
Fun nostalgic arcade. It's pay by the hour or unlimited time. It's located conveniently in Old Town Pasadena, with parking across the street. They have really cold AC which is perfect on a summer day and the worker was very friendly. They have a set of pinball machines from the Adams family to the Mandalorian. Arcade games from from Pac Man to Street Fighter.
Fun place. Very cute date spot! They sell candy, have a decent variety of games and have a small sitting area for parents chaperoning kids lol. A couple downsides ? not a tooon of variety on games. Main downside is there isn't any formal limit to how long you can play a game so when I went the kids stayed on the shooting and racing games for a long time. We finally asked them for a turn but felt bad asking the little kids to share lol. My party stayed for an hour and that was plenty of time for us 20 someth
They have all the games I grew up playing! Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Frogger, Millipede and more. Great place.
A very nice arcade experience. A lot of arcades I've been to in my life carry a certain atmosphere where if you've never been, then you don't belong. But here it feels open to anyone and feels very light and easy going in it's vibe. $10 for an hour of unlimited play and some of the best classic arcade games out there. Very worth the price if admission.
Nostalgic. Great selection of games. 1 hour should do it for most. Second visit. Will be back.
So much fun!! Great for kids young and old!! My 6 year old and I had a great time there, and can't wait to go back!!
What a nostalgic place. You pay per hour and it's open play, so no quarters needed. It has most of the classic arcade games (there was no NBA jam). My kids (ages 7-13 boys and a girl) really enjoyed it too. We spent 2 hrs. there.
The person who worked there the day I was in was super kind. The place is so nostalgic and full of awesome old games, highly recommend.
Great deal, especially if you use Groupon. It's smaller than I thought, but I had a good time. Lots of retro video games. I expected kids to run into me, but many adults did and hovered over kids to play next game. Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend getting a pass of at least 2 hrs, as time seems to fly by.
As someone who is a avid video game and arcade gamer, this place is okay. The vibe and experience is cool. At $15 an hour the price is pretty steep in my opinion, it should be $10 especially for retro arcade games. I only say this because the arcades themselves are poorly maintenenced - unresponsive buttons and joysticks with drift on a good portion of arcades. Only 3 working pinball games. Lightgun games sensors are uncallibrated and inaccurate. My experience was mediocre at best.
This place satisfies my children and the inner child in me. I'm an 80s mom that grew up with these video games and I'm happy to see that my kids love them just as much too. This is a fun, safe place for the kids to spend time and affordable too. $10 an hour. Cheaper than a babysitter! :-) lets me sit down and take a bit of a break with my boys.
I want games of Yesteryear and I get them here. First time to the Pasadena location, was a frequent patron the the Northridge location until they closed down. Pasadena now fills that hole. Sure they don't have Every game but it's enough to satisfy your thirst for some retro games. My wife and I had a great time. We were there for almost 3 hours and it went by so fast. The youngsters at the cashier are great kids. They are welcoming and easy to talk with. Will be back again. So if you want some arcade actio
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
