Reviews Summary

Reviews show a mix of experiences. Many praise the fun atmosphere, friendly staff (especially with first-timers), and thrilling go-karting. Positive highlights include great food, arcade games, and family-friendly activities. However, criticisms focus on poor organization (long waits, inconsistent rules), high prices, and occasional rude staff. Some mention issues with reservations, unfair racing enforcement, and underwhelming mini-golf. While many would return, others feel disappointed by mismanagement or lack of transparency. The overall impression is positive for those seeking entertainment, but service inconsistencies can mar the experience.

Customer Reviews

Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Pamela helped us while we were bowling and was especially kind and helpful. The woman who checked us in was also informative and awesome. The arcade, bowling, and go-kart racing were great. We definitely had a lot of fun.

The place was fantastic. They have so many things to do.. outside ganes, mini golf, racing, ducking bowling, arcade... We had 7 kids all ranging from 7 to 15 and they all had a great time.. The staff at the track were super helpful with the little kids who were racing for the first time. My 7 year old CANNOT wait to go back! The staff in the restaurant were so nice and friendly. Our server Pam was absolutely amazing!!!!! The food was great and portions were big.. We live 4 hours away and will be coming here

New location*** 3 star because I can't attest for all the attractions. My family and I have been watching the progress through their Instagram page and getting excited with every post. We found out they'd be opening just in time for my son's birthday. After being open to the public for 5 days, and doing family/friend and I assume media night, there is still a lot of confusion and unknown from the employees and posted signs. It was like getting a new software update or game and needing to wait to use it un

Had an awesome time at Need 2 Speed. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Racing is super fun, tons of arcade games, bowling, mini golf, and an amazing restaurant. The food was not just good, but fantastic. Best fries I've had in a while. Take family, take friends, take anyone who wants to have a good time and an enjoyable meal.

Originally I had written a bad review for this place when failing after trying to book ahead for a birthday party. We ended up coming in without a reservation with 7 people. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful? but this place is currently (as of May 18, 2025) very busy. We were unable to get enough races for our whole party to even race so we just got some food and played some mini golf. We had a blast, and despite some difficulties with some of their systems that are very new? the staff is le

Took a 10-yr old birthday party group there. We did other things around Reno that day as well. While the kids were having fun everywhere we went they almost all said the racing at Need2Speed was their favorite event.

Yesterday I went with my kids for the first time and let me just say the stuff was amazing and the location was freaking beautiful. I can't wait to come back and everybody was so nice and welcoming.

Beware! Total heartbreak. Last year we took 5 kids down to their location before the move. It was a birthday celebration and we drove from Tahoe. The kids had a great time with no issues and they became big fans and couldn't wait to go again. Anxiously awaiting for the move and track remodel, we were excited to take the kids racing again. This time was pure chaos, and not necessarily because it was busy with customers, but because they do not take reservations for less than 10 people and it doesn't help th

Super fun, the go karts go fast 45 mph and you can drift very easy around the turns. It was pretty cheap too, $25 for a 14 lap race plus a $5 annual membership per person. There is also glow in the dark mini golf too. Also there was some virtual reality game as well. And you can also get discount coupons at some hotels and motels in the area. I had a great time.

Need 2 Speed has done a great job with their new location. The venue is great and the staff is even better. Van was great and answered all.my questions about the facility and entertainment options, despite being very busy with a packed house. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fun time with kiddos or work folks.

We had a team building catered event for 26 people. Jude and his team did an outstanding job! The food was delicious, and the timing of the races was prefect. Everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend Need 2 Speed. So much fun to be had along with a great karting track!

We had an incredible time taking our company, Gridworks, for a evening of fun for go-karts, food, and arcade! Everyone really enjoyed the experience, from the thrill of racing on the go-kart track to the excitement of the arcade games. It was a fantastic way to bond, relax, and have fun together outside of work. We all left with big smiles and great memories. Highly recommend for anyone looking to add some fun and team spirit to their day!

We did not do any racing so can't comment on that but everything else - 10 stars. The place is super clean (very important for us), staff is kind, professional and attentive. Food is great, so much to do! We loved it.

place was decent but the fact I feel we have waited longer than people came after fact got their turn sooner. Not sure how they operate, but that's something need to be looked at. otherwise kids enjoy staff was friendly.

We just recently went to Need2Speed with a HUGE group. We should have planned ahead but didn't realize we had so many people until we had arrived. We had 15 kids who needed to register separately with each of their parents but also needed to be scheduled in the same race time. What a chaotic mess right? Not for the INCREDIBLE staff, specifically Anna and Lily! These two girls handled our group in such a professional manner. They were calm, organized and efficient. It took 40 minutes to register us all and g

The waitress Pam in the restaurant is amazing. She goes above and beyond for her customers to make sure they are taken care of. She is on top of everything. The portions are huge and very filling. This is a must go for a family outing. Go karts bowling arcade mini golf. This place has a lot to do.

Management is terrible to their employees. Don't see this place staying open much longer as the manager Gabe has told his employees he's giving them 6 months if not he's shutting the place down. Miss the old location, and old staff and management. Kiddos went. Race did not go good. Food was decent. Probably won't be back. Rather see management step up especially for their age. Will not be coming back

Second time at this location with a poor experience. Really hoped it was a fluke the first time but unfortunately not. Rude staff with zero transparency. We waited in line 30 min again only to find out the next open spot was 3hours out for a youth race after talking to the front counter with an entirely different story.

I really enjoyed the food and arcade here but the GO CARTS WERE SO FUN! It was a work event for New West Distributing and being there we all had fun playing all the games they had there along with racing eachother in the go carts. Big shout out to Avangella for helping us out and showing us the mini golf area too and the cool extra challenges they have for it. Definitely will go back with friends and family.

Terrible place. Building is nice, management is terrible. Had a company function there cost thousands of dollar and basically got nothing for it. Cold food. Our host went home halfway thru our party. My grandson was measured twice for racing. He sat in the car for 35 minutes then they said he was to small. Need better management.

I miss the old location! My husband and I went to go check out the go carts decided to do one race to see how awesome the track is. Well track is great but the customer service that sucks. Girl at the counter clearly had no idea how to greet people or give directions. We went to the waiting area because the ticket said to arrive 15 minutes before race guy walks in and tells us we can't be in there. Then it clearly states no bumping cars well driver 3 hit me six times on purpose laughing and flipping me off

Updating after visiting again. Overall pretty cool go-kart track and place to watch sports, once you get past the potholes and homeless in the parking lot. Also the two bickering with each other up front isn't a great vibe. The pricing is a bit outrageous, at $32 a race. But the two-for-Tuesday was a good real. Go Karts seem a bit slower than the old location, but they're new and drive well. Track is super grippy and has a couple decent passing areas. If there was a way to allow the max speed for the kar

Would like to welcome this new company to our area of Reno/Sparks NV. This is something we have needed in this area for a long time coming, it's more of an adult amusement for entertainment, there is no casino games, just over sized games it's really cool , the go carts you really drive, the track is two stories tall (inside). And It's like riding a full sized motorcycle at the arcade games. Also 10 lanes of duck bowling. Great food and drinks to enjoy.

Took 40+ minutes for a salad to come out. Food was not flavorful. The music was way too loud, you have to yell just to hear each other. The race was fun but they need to fix some things. Our names weren't in the screen before the race, they didn't use the flags like they said they would, you can't actually go as fast as you want because the workers tell you to slow down and manually slow you down. Overall it wasn't a great experience and I won't be coming back.

The food was just okay, could be better. The music was way too loud. We were not able to book the Go Karts in advance. When we arrived at noon, the earliest drive time was at 4:45. We did a lot of waiting around...

We went to the new location for my son's birthday, as a family. We loved the old location and was excited to see the new track. Online reservations are not available, only walk in. We waited FOUR hours to get his junior race in. Once on the track, they did 3 slow laps around the track, then the race was cancelled. There was a family of kids that did not know how to drive at all. During the slow grid formation lap, they kept steering straight into the wall. They also kept letting off the gas pedal to rol

We came here last Saturday for my brothers birthday and he was pretty bummed out until TJ at the bar made our day and turned our night around! He has the most outgoing, kind personality and made sure we were well taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about TJ but they're lucky to have him at Need 2 Speed!

Our family enjoyed our first visit to Need for Speed. My wife, son, and I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service provided by our server, Ahli. The restaurant's pricing and family-friendly environment were highly satisfactory.

Karting here is a waste of money, at any price. Staff would not waive a blue flag despite multiple drivers drastically impeding the karts behind them which lead to a preventable pile up 4 laps in. Race was called off, not a word from the staff. Massive handling and speed variance from kart to kart. Wouldn't come back if it was free

When I went in and I could tell that it was a little hectic. We still had fun though. The young blonde employee was a definitely big help. She helped us and the establishment run smoothly.

Stopped here on a trip through town, had a blast, price is fair enough and all the equipment seemed well kept up. Mini golf was unimpressive but for 6$ it wasn't offensive. I'll definitely stop back and race more while I'm still in town

Idk... the music is crazy loud, you can't hear your friends right next to you. The food was okay, the wings were the only thing I liked.. It's really really dark in the mini golf area? Like really dark. Cringe. They charge for pingpong!? No bar in reno charges for ping pong and the drinks are way over priced. Not worth it. Go to Birdeez for putt! It's easy better bigger and cheaper! Coconut bowl for the rest lol

You know what? The place wasn't too bad. I love their food. I'll give it a higher review. The staff is extremely nice. That ticket prices are expensive though.

I recently visited Need2Speed for an indoor go-kart racing experience, and I have to say, it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The pit crew deserves a special mention ? they were incredibly friendly, professional, and made sure everyone was ready to race safely. They walked us through the track rules and gave us tips to help us improve our driving. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it definitely added to the excitement! The racing itself was so much fun! The karts w

Been there every Tuesday since they opened the new location and have had a great time racing. Wanted to shout out Alex and Rubel at the track, Justin the lead, and Jabari at the front desk for getting us checked in nice and easy every week even when we have a big group

I've karting for a few weeks and it's been an absolute blast and great experience. The whole staff is amazing and on top of it. Each race is well watched and any issue is quickly resolved. I want to shout out Alex Justin Jabari and Rubel. They're awesome guys that go above and beyond each time. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in karting at any age

This place was really awesome. The go-karts for fun the employees were cool the mini golf was neat definitely coming back

Great place for fun. Definitely I recommend.

Not welcoming to walk-ins, races with only two people, and didn't let us in the race. Mini golf was fun but only had nine holes and the place where you start was all beat up. Also, the employees were not as kind as they should?ve been. Overall, I give this a one star.

I went to N2S for the first time and it was a funfilled adventure! The staff kept me in my comfort zone and answered all my questions, no pressure. Trey gave me great pointers and showed me the track layout; The manager was kind to let me shoot the vids and pics. I met one group who race together each week. Good vibes and lots to do, year round. Prices are fair and many deals are available too. Serious racers also have a chance at a $10,000 prize for the AEKC championship. The season finale for N2S will be

Fun place in Reno! I was here with 3 of my friends, we spent like 1 hour there and played 2 times. The staffs were nice and informative. The car has good speed and the court was fun. There is also a mini golf area for the kids, that's like additional $6. I recommend it.

I had a terrible experience at this establishment due to disorganization and poor customer service. The staff, particularly the women working, showed no engagement?no eye contact, acknowledgment, or assistance?leaving me and others feeling ignored and frustrated. I had purchased tickets online with set times to ride, but everything was delayed because of a broken wall on the track. This forced us to stay much longer than planned. On top of that, I wasn't allowed to participate because I didn't have my phys

Great place to hangout. Offers indoor electric go kart, mini golf with different and interesting levels, arcade games. Theme inside mini golf area is really good with different motor sports, great lighting and wall arts. Neon painting is so attractive inside the golf area. A good place to celebrate birthdays and other events with friends, kids and family.

Don't bother buying a combo vr-golf-race package, the staff here is only focused on managing the cart races.... Great track, friendly staff... But the way they book time slots for races is a mess... I booked 3 races online for a group of four, each an hour apart because we bought a combo pass that included VR and golf. We arrived a half hour early, per their websites direction. We had your first race 10min ahead of schedule. It was a lot of fun, we all had a great time. After the race, sense we had an hour

Really fun but maybe a bit pricey. Reservations highly recommended. Be prepared for really nice folks encumbered by a painfully slow check-in process...

Don't buy a gift card from these guys. You cannot use them to book races online and they will not reserve a race over the phone. They require you to walk in and hope there is a car available for you. My husband took my boys in and were told no cars were available even though the place was completely empty. I think they keep the carts empty for cash paying customers. It's great if you book online, but again, they rip people off with their gift cards, which is a shame. They were incredibly rude when I confron

Place was great, track was fast, games were good, patio is amazing. Justin helped was duckling bowling and the as awesome!

It is really fun place for juniors and adults. The carting cars are great and nice experience. The VR and mini golf are fun too. Definitely recommend.

Great facility. The staff works hard to ensure a quality experience. The race track and games are awesome.

Fun place. However, their gift card process seems shamefully misleading. I purchased a $500 gift card a couple months ago to only learn today that it cannot be used for booking any races. Seems like a terrible oversight that is extremely frustrating

I was initially disappointed by the staff but then the manager ?Jude? came and talked. Very nice guy. I'm appreciative how they received feedback and acted on it. I'll go to their new location.

Is this place open? The website just says COMING SOON and there are only links for employment, media request, and events application. I just want to book a time to race this Wednesday..

So much fun. Came to let our son drive on his birthday and the employees were absolutely amazing! The kid running the carts was so kind to our son and helpful. 10/10 will recommend!

Small, should separate novice drivers and experienced drivers from racing the same time. The kids who work there are great though, they get 5 stars

Note for parents: They say that youth can drive at 48". But they wouldn't let our 51" son drive. Huge disappointment for our son and I really don't understand the rationale. After 30 minutes of being in multiple lines, they just turned us away.

The kids working there are friendly, helpful, and patient. We've enjoyed playing there. To be totally honest, the mini golf isn't great, but it's cute. Would rather see a different game in that space. (Rock climb, laser tagish...just saying) Love the VR game.

The karts and track here were decent, they have a wider track than others I've been to. They also have a "no drifting" policy here - I was flagged with the "no drifting" flag multiple times for a slight squeak of the tires while others would slide around every curve and not get flagged. Which comes to my main complaint - the enforcement of the rules only happens when the operator is paying attention (which seemed to be about half the time). Slower racers either wouldn't get a flag to pull over for 3 continu

It was really fun to go here I very much whould recommend going here wether that be over the summer or some other time I would definitely go here again

Ahli took such good care of us for dinner (a chaotic 30 top and she never lost patience once!), and the staff for the karting was super patient with our large party. This place is great. Awesome!

Horrible experience staff took forever to attend me and didn't even let me go on the ride time I wanted to go on

New location review! 1) go cart race track is fun and curvy. 2) this location is much bigger and has lots to offer and feels like could offer even much more! 3) great variety of arcade. For $20 you get about 192 credits. 8 credits per dollar and 32 bonus credits. Games price about 8-14 credits. 4) Awesome and FREE corn hole outside! 5) there are also 2 ping pong tables but I think it will be mostly windy to play. You can eat there and play there. I wish there will be a few pool tables (there is enough spa

The staff here today was amazing. Mike, Kyle and Scott really took it upon themselves to create a calming atmosphere for two 7 year old very nervous first timers twins. My granddaughters went from... I don't know cuz I'm scared... to... can we do this again (with a great deal of excitement). The staff's help and compassion really made the girl's experience a wonderful one. Thank you!

Really neat company . Great manager . Great employees . Problem... WAY TOO MANY DRUNK TWEEKING THIEVES ALLOWED TO HANG AROUND THERE ! STEP UP THE PATROL RPD !

They refused to allow an emailed waiver for our son's friend, yet they accept waivers from parents that aren't there if printed. I've gone there and did not bring a waiver so unsure why it matters now. Their "rules" made 0 logical sense and they were unwilling to budge. After, we tried to find the waiver on their website and it is next to impossible to find. Took us 10 minutes just to find the link. I will never be coming back to this place.

The new location is super awesome & a great place for our company's team building / unwind days!

These karts go really fast!!! Kids had such a great time we came back the next day and the glow in the dark mini golf was fun too

We did a 3 race outing and had a lot of fun! Booked our times online and had to register and sign in when we got there. Seemed like it was done online but no big deal. Takes 5 minutes. Cars are decent. On occasion you may get a dog but they will switch you out if so. Had one that crapped out but they gave a new one mid race. Staff is on the ball here as they need to be. Track is sticky so you will get worked. If you want to casual race then bring a group because this track and carts are great for pushing

I took my daughter here for her first time racing. While you can't race with your child if they are younger you can watch them race other kids in special kid speed and sized carts. The staff is very nice and seem to really enjoy getting new riders on the track. They give them the basics and let them race!

The employees were amazing. They accommodated for a young child and for the handicap. Super polite. They had helmets to fit big and small. When someone in our little group had ran out of gas they got right on it so the fun can continue.

Great place for the whole family. Really enjoyed the short 9 hole miniature golf in black light! ??way cool!

TRASH!! WASTE OF MONEY. SPECIALLY ON THERE 2 HOUR ARCADE GAME PLAY. WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK HERE. BETTER OFF AT ROUND 1 OR COCONUT BOWL

Over the holidays we were visiting Tahoe so decided to take a day off skiing and swing by Need 2 Speed. In full disclosure two of my kids have Karted since they were 5, competing internationally, with my son Jack recently qualifying P5 in this years FIA Karting World. Championship in England. He can drive a go kart and fast. When we arrived at Need 2 Speed they told us winning is about lap time and not racing. However, it's apparent that speed is mostly decided by a guy with a remote control. We raced th

We had so much fun. Lane rang us up and she was the best! She was friendly, funny, and super helpful. The hologate was fun for us to do as a family!

Isabel was literally the best and made the experience 20/10. She needs a raise

Clean, friendly staff, go karts were great! Will definitely go back.

Very cool place with friendly, helpful employees. Kids, and adults, will love it. Only downside, and it can be a big one, is the cost. It's $20-23 per race. They do have a membership that can lower costs if you plan on going a lot.

Came here on a whim with a friend and we had a fantastic time! Place is very large, with nice comfortable couches to sit and relax until it's your turn to race. Pricing was reasonable and we had a lot of fun. Will absolutely come back!

This place has got it goin on since they moved from south of town they out did themselves hands down my favorite place to watch the games and play

The new location is the jam! The karts rip, the beer is cold, the bowling is bananas! Justin was an absolute pleasure to deal with! Thank you!

They didn't let the kids race without guardians signature. What if the guardians our out of country can't sign the paper. She made us sign up and check the heights it was ok she gave a time to go back.

If you're looking for a fast-paced go carting experience, this is the place

This was my third time. Each visit has been a fun and great experience. The young staff is friendly and on top of it. Will definitely be back. Make sure to check the special event schedule to make sure they are not closed for a private party.

Awesome place with friendly staff. A great place to get the adrenaline flowing. Always on my list of places to go when I'm in Reno.

The atmosphere of this place is great and the staff is attentive, the food is really good

First I called the business to see if walk ins are accepted. The said yes, so we did a walk in and the track was rented making it so walk in were not available. We were advised to schedule an online appointment which requires payment. No biggie, we made a reservation. I paid for 8 racers totaling over $200. We show up 5 hours later to our scheduled time and we're asked if all of the children were mine. I replied yes, I am their legal guardian. They replied legal guardians could not authorize permission (on

Fun, Safe, Amazing Staff, All Ages (height requirement), Great Pics, Fast, Clean, Well Organized, Excellent Instruction - it's all about precision driving, not a race! Go-karts, VR, and mini golf, great facility! James and his staff did an amazing job explaining the process, ensuring we were all tucked in our cars, comfortable, and safe. It doesn't matter if you are a first-timer or a veteran racer. The entire team truly cares about having the best experience; they are incredibly patient and very nice! High

I had an amazing time at Need 2 Speed! Michael, one of the pit crew members, was incredibly helpful when I came in a couple of days ago to drive some go-karts. He made sure my experience was unforgettable. The atmosphere was lively, the tracks were thrilling, and I can't wait to come back for more fun. Thanks, Michael, and the entire team at Need 2 Speed, for a fantastic time! I absolutely can't wait to return!

I think the customer service service almost non existent. Not very welcoming vibe from staff. I get the feeling they hate that you(customer)even bothered to come in like they hate their jobs. Not that they were mean...just (lack of better wording) not engaging at all and not really helpful either. No bantering...like robots...and not the cool kind of robots..... The black light golf is soooooo ghetto, needed to be repaired and to clean up there debris from the theme falling apart. I also think parts weren't

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
