Mysterium Escape Rooms & VR

We have hosted two birthday parties at Mysterium for our 10 and 11 year old daughters. Michael and Ava do an exceptional job and the kids have a blast! All the kids said it was the best birthday party they had been to - escape room, karaoke, pizza and cake and a VR experience. So may laughs and giggles were had and memories made. Brought my daughter here for her birthday this weekend; never having been to an escape room myself before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was a phenomenal experience! Bri and Ava were amazzzzing walking us through our first visit to Mysterium!!! They thoroughly explained how the room worked and how the clue system worked as well!!! Wild Wild West was tons of fun and had interesting puzzles I hadn't necessarily seen before!!! 10/10 would go again!!!

Mysterium Escape Rooms is such a wonderful hidden gem in downtown Sarasota. Perfect place to celebrate birthday or spend a quality time with your friends and family. Great place! Fun atmosphere with food, drinks, beer and wine. We had a birthday party for our 16 year old son and there was a lot to keep everyone happy from the actual escape room to VR gaming to regular video games. The escape room was of high quality. Michael was a great host. Overall wonderful experience!

This is the best escape room in Sarasota. The Wizard room is particularly challenging, so be prepared to use your problem-solving skills. The attention to detail in every room is impressive. Took my 10 yo and his 5 buddies and they had a great time. We selected room "Area 941". It kept them interested, working together. They had fun the entire time. It was challenging and we did need some "help", which was readily available via a walkie talkie. Very happy how it worked out ??

My friend and I were walking down the street for something to do and stumbled across Mysterium Escape room. IT WAS THE BEST TIME EVER. This was our first time doing one and Michael was very helpful and made the experience very enjoyable.

This place is awesome! The drink are really yummy all the staff was really friendly, decoration is also really nice, and there is so much to do like tons of vr games, scape rooms and arcade games. I really recommend this place and really recommend the tri-force drink :)

APRIL WAS SO COOL!! (???????) Thank you for helping us out with our escape! No issues with booking, very critical puzzles, and super gnarly storyline. My experience was the best, my friend and I had fun in the escape room. I really loved the Harry Potter experience. From the moment I entered the room, my friend and I met the main characters who had magical powers, etc. In a few words, I recommend that you go with friends and family to spend a ??fantastic weekend!!

Nick was incredible as our guide. We did the Area 941 room and boy was that a doozy!! Nick was patient and funny and especially helpful without giving up any answers. Totally recommend!! Do it! You won't be disappointed. Oh, and ask for Nick. He's totally awesome.

Mysterium Escape Rooms' 2 Cool 4 Wizard School was a lot of fun and a great experience to celebrate my son's b-day (9 years old) with a group of his friends. I came here for my Bachelor party, and we had an amazing time. They were super accommodating, we felt extra taken care of, even went to the trouble of opening up the escape room we reserved after they were flooded a few days prior. We had the party room and for 8 guys, it was a ton of fun and we are definitely coming back in the future!!!!

Great family entertainment location! Our family has done a LOT of escape rooms and Area941 was a good one. We chatted with the owners about some new rooms in development that sound exciting. Highly recommend for people who like creative puzzles and well designed rooms. Sounds like their other rooms are a bit easier so probably good for all ages and anyone new to escape style games.

Me and my daughter stopped here looking for fun things to do on our short vacation. We had way more fun than we expected. We did VR and it was absolute blast. We did Egyptian pyramid themed game and it was very unique and fun experience. We had to work together as a team to solve the challenge. After that we did the zombie shooting game with two more guests and we had lots of laughs. The lady running the place was very friendly and helpful. Good good time.

A group of 6 of us completed 2 Cool 4 Wizard School yesterday. I will say it was a blast. Much better that any other escape room I tried. Highly recommend for a great time!

We did the Tiki Trouble room. Our group of four had a blast working on the puzzles to placate Pele the Volcano God. One member of our group had never done an escape room before, and the room was a perfect introduction to the game. Just the right level of difficulty. We unlocked all of the cabinets and chests and returned Pele's tiki statue to its rightful place with 7 minutes left to spare. We're definitely coming back to play another game!

Nice place to hang out with drinks and arcade/VR games! Escape rooms are also fantastic, the circus room was a lot of fun for our group of six. Clareese was an amazing game master, and great to talk to!

Awesome time here! My family of four tried the Area 941 room on a Monday afternoon at 4pm. The decorations were very impressive, and the puzzles were super unique! There were a few technical difficulties during our experience that required a guide to come in and bang on some of the equipment, but because the room was basically drawn up and engineered from scratch (at least that's how we understood the building process from the room guide), it was totally understandable. Would definitely come again!

Fun place. I did the VR Arcade Hero Zone with my 2 young children. We all played the games together and it was a lot of fun. Later the same week, my family of 4 did the Wizard school escape room. We had a 9 year old and a 7 year old. It was appropriate for their level, but the parents still did most of the leading. We escape in 50 minutes and only needed 4 hints.

Great atmosphere, mom and pop style escape room. Tricky and well engineered. Tons of things to keep you busy while you wait in line. Owners are very nice and super knowledgeable and informative. Pricing is extremely reasonable compared to the industrialized escapeology. 10/10 definetley reccomend!

I booked the Area 941 escape room for my son's 16th birthday, and it did not disappoint. We also did some VR play while we were there. It was a great experience for the whole family. The owner, Mike, was very nice and helped us through all of our questions, exceeding our expectations. I would recommend checking out Mysterium for sure!

I took my son and 2 of his friends to participate in the room Area 941. All of the boys said how happy they were with the whole room!

We did the Freak Show room, it was incredibly fun and a little frightening thanks to the clown (congrats Liya). The puzzles were really ingenious compared to other escape rooms I've done! The games at the front are also a good time although they can be frustrating. 10/10

Went did the Wild West room for a bachelor party. The best escape room experience I've had so far! This place is small but it packs a punch with the quality of the experience! The VR experience afterward was the icing on the cake. In addition, we enjoyed some drinks and the arcade while waiting. Super fun!

Omg this was such a fun experience, Clarice was absolutely amazing 11/10 best hostess ever!!! She really made the whole thing so much more enjoyable, we were cracking up almost the entire time. We are most definitely gonna be coming back again sometime soon

My wife and I have played upwards of 10 escape rooms, and this was easily one of the best. The environment was really well done, the puzzles were challenging, but fairly intuitive, and the staff was friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. I would absolutely recommend this for an evening out.

Loved our time at Mysterium! My wife and I took our daughter's family to the Area 941 escape room. Everyone really enjoyed the experience, particularly the kids (ages 10 and 13). Ava, the attendant, was great and helped us out when a couple of the clue features malfunctioned, adding a few minutes of extra time for us. Will definitely repeat with the other grandkids!

Went here for my son's birthday for the escape room VR/VR gaming. Kinsey was great in assisting players and everyone had a lot of fun escaping the prison. It was our first VR escape room experience and will definitely go back! Highly recommend and be sure to try the Donkey Kong cocktail!

Had a wonderful experience at Mysterium Escape Rooms & VR during a private corporate event. Owner Michael was extremely friendly and managed our group of new and seasoned escape room people well. The escape room was very well-themed and had challenging puzzles that kept our group of 8 entertained for the entire hour. Had a blast with a group date night at Mysterium. (Half of us had never done an escape room.) The clues were not obvious or easy, but they were intuitive enough to keep things moving at a fast pace. We had a group of 6, and it was a tight squeeze but only slightly claustrophobic. It's a great cooperative exercise and calls on many different kinds of expertise, so everyone plays a part. Booked an escape room online, 4 kids loved it 9-15 years of age, was challenging enough for smart kids, then kids played VR games and had a real blast. Ordered a couple of beers for myself and got some great simple snacks for the kids. Had a really wonderful time, place was clean, staff was friendly and so helpful, rooms were elaborate. Area 941 escape room was a blast!! Took our teenager and we all had a great time! Lots of fun props and intricate mind benders never had a dull moment! Best one I've done yet.

Giving 4 stars because the staff was all very nice but I was extremely underwhelmed. I've done tons of escape rooms all over and this felt super low budget. Really small space, not a lot of puzzles, no additional rooms to open up, etc. We finished with over 25 mins left, which felt like a super short experience for $170 for our group. Went with a group last minute and had an amazing time. Clarice was amazing and helped us have an amazing experience and even recorded a few videos of us when one of us fell and lost their phone. Definitely will come back!

Came here for a company event with my entire team and we had a blast! The AC was broken the night we went but they set up a bunch of fans for us and accommodated very well. Great rate for such a big group and we all loved it. Amazing phenomenal staff. The bar tender was sweet, efficient, and had great recommendations, and we chatted about VR and everything with the employees. Absolutely great experience, will be back.

Overall, not too bad. The Area 941 room was quite challenging but we still had fun trying. Apparently that's the most challenging room they offer. They also offer VR experiences if that's something you want to r try.

Today me and my friends went to escape reality down town and tried their new tiki room! This was so much fun and had lots of different cool puzzles. It was a couple of my friends first time doing an escape room and they had so much fun. It wasn't frustrating and the people gave us the right amount of clues. It was one of the best rooms I've done and Michael?s escape rooms never disappoint. I would definitely recommend going there and checking out his rooms especially for your first time.

Awesome time! Friendly owners and staff! We had a group of 10 teenagers participate in both the escape rooms during our visit! The owner Michael did an amazing job with this large group or teens and his wife also took great care of the adults in the bar area with drinks and food! If you are looking for a fun time with family or friends this is a great place to check out!!

We had such a good time at the Freakshow Horror Carnival at Mysterium Escape Rooms in Sarasota Florida. The puzzles are so clever and the visuals were outstanding. I like the immersive part with Balthazar the clown and so many wonderful sound effects.

Escape Reality was a great all around experience! Three of us were able to escape Area 941 and it had an extremely unique experience in the room. Out of the room was just as fun, it was my first experience ever using VR and I had a great time! The food was great to snack on, and the worker Pablo there went above and beyond in customer service. He was extremely outgoing and friendly and really made the experience that much better. We hope to return the next time we are in the area!

We did the Tiki themed room. It was pretty good. The rooms themselves were small in size but had a lot of good puzzles. We arrived about 30 minutes early and had to wait about 10 minutes past our booking time to start, even though no one else was in the room ahead of us. But the staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely up to do other rooms at this location.

This was such a fun time! The workers were very nice and friendly, they help you out the headsets on and give thorough instructions. The magic wand arcade game played multiplayer is much suggested on my part. We also did an escape room which was also a fun time! All VR , 100% fun!

My wife and I did the tiki/pele themed room. It was one of the smaller(size wise) rooms we've done but also one of the more challenging and had plenty of unique puzzles to solve. We made it out with ten minutes to spare. We had a brief conversation with the owner afterwards and learned that he had two location but Covid hit hard and had to shut one down. We arrived early, and I wish I remembered his name, but the guy (purple hair) that helped us was Awesome!! Let us go in early and was a fun narrator to get us ready for the escape room. It was challenging but not too hard and you get to ask for clues when stuck. Plus you can buy drinks ?? We loved it

This was my first time going to an escape room. Even better than what I expected. Four of us did the space themed one, Area 941. It had something for everyone there. Would definitely come back to try another room if I was in town again.

I've done the 941 and Tiki Trouble escape rooms and really enjoyed both of them! They were both fun and challenging and I loved being able to grab a cocktail before. Everyone working there was great and made the experience fun.

MUST DO FOR TEENS ON A RAINY DAY IN SARASOTA. This place was the hidden gem of our whole vacation. It's like a little club for teens they can hang out if they want, do Virtual Reality, and we did the Escape Room as a family. Very simple room that doesn't look like much to start, but the puzzles were awesome, the staff (April) was great, cocktails were fun and the arcade games while we were waiting were fun. We did the tiki escape room and we loved it!

Great place to come with your friends! The drinks are on point for our adult patrons. I played one of there horror VR simulations, and was very happy with the experience.
